From A Charming Fete… Dominique and Michael were one of the most lovely, cultured and well-traveled couples we’ve ever had the pleasure of working with. When we met them they were splitting their time between Myanmar (Southeast Asia) and New York City but decided to host their wedding at the groom’s father’s breathtaking lakefront property in Cleveland, Ohio.

They wanted their wedding to be a little less traditional and more of a huge celebration, a gathering of friends and family coming together from across the globe. In lieu of a guestbook, guests pinned a note onto their home country on a giant world map. There was no shortage of international representation with a DJ who flew in from London and the officiant (who actually introduced the couple) flew in from Bangkok to marry them. The heartfelt ceremony took place on the water’s edge with guests overlooking the scene from the upper level of the modern beach house deck. The gardens were pristine and the multi-level decks and stone pathways leading from the home to the shore held several resting spots and even a cocktail bar where guests could stop and refresh.

The vibe of the dinner tents was natural and organic with neutral blue toned florals and blue-stripe bistro napkins. The dessert table hosted an array of deliciousness made by a New York City pastry chef and dear friend of the bride and groom, who had come into town for the preparations. The dessert bar included an assortment of Momofuku Milkbar cakes, chocolate filled croquembouches and carrot halwa (a traditional South Asian wedding dessert). The groom’s mother, a local artist made sake cups for all of the guests and the bride and groom led in a sake toast, the champagne was served at the bar. At dusk the beach house lit up the night and the real party began. The perfect end to this evening was the massive fireworks display that filled the sky, exploding over the lake in celebration of the most magical and perfect day. It was an absolute honor to take part in their wedding celebration.
