California is home to some of the prettiest weddings on the planet. That’s a fact. But when you have a bride with the most impeccable sense of style, it takes a California wedding from pretty to positively perfect. And as a talented graphic artist, this bride had her hand dipped into all aspects of the day’s design. Add in the peachy-perfect florals from Adornments Flowers plus the breathtaking photos from MEF Photography, and you’ve got a gallery that’s sure to inspire. But as if that weren’t enough, there’s a film by Rain Studios to tie to all together.

From MEF Photography…I am so excited to share this peach, feminine, loving wedding at Lago Giuseppe in Templeton, CA, because remembering it brings me such joy. I tend to have strong relationships with my clients, but Katie + Danny, with their warmth and trueness of spirit, nuzzled themselves into a very special corner of my heart. And their wedding was such a perfect showcase of their love and lives. But I think my favorite part is not just how personal their wedding was, rather that it was made so personal by the bride herself. Katie is a super talented graphic designer who knew exactly what she wanted. She brought such elegant femininity to her details, all of which she personally designed, proofed, printed and assembled. She also honored Danny’s Hawaiian heritage (with his Maile Lei, the koa wood in his wedding ring, and by blowing a conch shell to start the ceremony) and included clever nods to his love of bass fishing (check out their escort card display!). Their engagement session was done mostly on his boat! A good wife, indeed.
And oh, the peach! From the invitations, programs, and pinwheels (care of the brides’s sister-in-law!), to the favors, flowers, and flags. Katie so beautifully wove her accent color in and through every possible detail of the day, without being overbearing in the least. I also can’t forget to mention that Katie’s grandfather serenaded Katie and her father during their dance—tear-jerker central! And the ceremony was officiated by Katie’s brother!
A fire pit, s’mores, a beautiful dessert bar, blankets for their guests, pre-ceremony beers for the guys, Katie’s mother’s wedding veil. I could talk for ages about this wedding, it left such a mark on my soul, and I believe the photos ooze Katie + Danny—their personalities, their happiness and their unique and splendid relationship. But I could do no better job in my description than the bride herself could, so I will let hers stand:
From the Bride…When it came to picking a location for our wedding, choosing the Central Coast was a no-brainer. Being really laid back ourselves, we loved the laid back feeling the towns in that area had. I actually found our venue, Lago Giuseppe, on Style Me Pretty when we were first searching for locations. If there was a spike in Internet traffic to “Templeton Wedding by Three Nails Photography”, it was probably all me. I fell in love with the location and once I met the family that owned the property, I fell in love with them too. I truly felt like they treated us like we were a part of their family and I can’t wait to visit their growing winery in the years to come.
Being a graphic designer, I appreciate when people put their trust in me when doing designs, so when I picked our vendors, that’s exactly what I did. I trusted their craft and let them take charge since they were the experts. And they certainly did not disappoint. I have to give a huge thanks to The Wedding Standard (www.theweddingstandard.net) website. I utilized that as a starting point for choosing most of the vendors we used. The Wedding Standard has hand-selected a group of trusted wedding professionals in the Central Coast and it really made me feel comfortable that I picked reputable people.
I could go on and on with rave reviews about each of our vendors, but the best decision we made was choosing our photographer, Molly. She captured so much emotion and we are beyond in love with our photos. Your photographer will be with you more than any other person on your big day and having her around was such a joy. It was like having a good friend along for the ride all day. She may be tiny, but she flawlessly ran the show when getting all of our portraits done. Trying to herd the bride and groom, bridesmaids, groomsmen, and families from both sides is no easy task and I never knew how important having an organized photographer would be until that day. We can’t thank her enough for the memories she captured that will last a lifetime.
