Funk, Flair + Lots of Fun at this Pacific Northwest Wedding

There’s no doubt that these pics are uber pretty. But look a little closer at all the details Christine Clark captured and you’re gonna see something more… just enough funk and flair to keep things offbeat and to keep us on the edge of our seat. Vintage chairs, wild and organic florals and a wedding dress we can’t stop dreaming of are just a few… it’s all here and more in our gallery. Take a look and do tell us; what’s your favorite beautiful bit?!

[stylguide]

From Christine Clark… Anneliese and Cody’s wedding took place at the Villa Vashon Estate on beautiful Vashon Island. Every detail had the loveliest touch to it. An assorted collection of vintage chairs created a wonderful, old world feel, while the most exquisite florals from Bash and Bloom gave everything a wild and organic, yet utterly classy and sophisticated energy. Anneliese’s gown flowed like water, while Cory’s suit added that bit of funk to keep things offbeat. The absolutely sweetest couple, Anneliese and Cody are the kind of people you love to meet and make you believe in a better world! Kind, gracious, and utterly in love, their wedding was a gorgeous reflection of whimsy and sophistication mixing together to create the most strikingly gorgeous blend.

Rustic Chic Vashon Island Wedding in Washington

See these centerpieces? Well, would you believe me if I told you that Leah and Brian actually unearthed those vessels from the very ground where they were married days before? AH-MAZING. Even more awesome, the fact that this pair made their day truly unique. From their ring-warming ceremony, to the hand drawn wedding logo, every detail was their own and we’re absolutely smitten with it all. See their special day in its entirety captured by the uber talented Jonas Seaman Photography in THE VAULT!

From Jonas Seaman PhotographyThis was such a beautiful day. Leah & Brian got married at Triple Brook Farms on Vashon Island. They had so many beautiful personal details throughout the day including vintage bottles on the tables unearthed from a family property, their own hand drawn wedding logo, and little bags of coffee beans roasted fresh by Leah’s Dad as wedding favors.

From the Bride…Brian’s family owns land on the south end of Vashon Island, and we spent a day digging up antique bottles and jars that had been buried on their property decades earlier. We used them in our centerpieces to hold flowers and lights, and it was a nice nod to the history of the island as well as looking really cute, and costing nothing.

We included a ring-warming, since we wanted the ceremony to be about more than just the two of us, and involve our guests as well. We wanted to honor the fact that everyone there had shaped our lives in some way, and had helped us to become those two people who were standing up at the front, about to get married to each other.

Trust your instincts, and hire professionals whenever possible. Having people show up and just get busy making things happen without having to ask a ton of questions or need to be told what to do was such a relief after doing so much of the heavy lifting ourselves.  Nothing will be as bad as you think it will be. It was the best day! It took a ton of effort and planning to get there, but I can’t think of anything that could have made it better.

Real Wedding: Erin and Mark, II

Love, love, love Erin and Mark’s featured affair. The glowy bride, the intimate vibe, the overall elegance. There is just something really inviting about this affair, as if it were a family dinner complete with a band and some really beautiful decorations.

And the details…oh the details.

From the lovely bride…Ooh, I love Style Me Pretty! I POURED over it when I was planning our big day. Here are a few details. My friend and bridesamaid Anna Olive of Anna Stuart Floral and Event Design, did the flowers. Our cake was crafted by Fiona Booth, another friend and interior designer. Our catering was done by Terri Colello Catering along with some of our friends Tracy, Spicer, Scott and Roy who did the Pig Roast. Our fabulous band was Hot Club Sandwich.

LOVE, LOVE, LOOOOOVE! Thank you so much to Julie Mikos for entertaining us and providing constant inspiration and to Erin and Mark for letting us have a window into their special day!

Real Wedding: Erin and Mark

Our next wedding is completely different from our first, in style and design, with the one exception of Julie Mikos…the fabulous photographer behind the day. Erin and Mark tied the knot on Vashon Island in Washington with a warm, intimate ceremony and an absolutely beautiful outdoor reception.

Here are a few quick thoughts from Julie…I think the stylishness of this wedding shows what creative architects both Erin and Mark are. I just loved the outdoor elegance mixed with a pig and salmon roast and a wonderful bluegrass band. It was truly down-home AND elegant. Erin and Mark and all of the guests were tremendous sports when the cloudy day turned stormy and the sky absolutely burst open right before and right after the ceremony! Thankfully the storm passed by the time dinner was served and dancing remained under the stars.

I have such a girl crush on this bride…she is literally glowing! I love that. We have more beautiful images and details from this wedding on the way! And later, we are doing a pretty awesome DIY project from a wedding that we featured a few days ago…can’t wait!
