Fleur de Rever Editorial Inspiration Shoot

There is nothing quite like Cherry Blossoms in the spring. The proof? This beautiful shoot straight from the lens of Sally Pinera. Bursting with blossomed beauties, bold pinks and a couple of to-die-for gowns, it’s an inspiration goldmine and the gallery is waiting for you here!

From Sally Pinera….Deeply inspired by the beautiful dreamy blooms of spring, we created an inspirational shoot heavily saturated on lavenders, pinks, mellow oranges, yellow magnolias and cherry blossoms. The location was set at the beautiful Bishops Garden at the Washington National Cathedral. During this time of year, cherry blossoms are in full bloom so we used the gorgeous blossoms as our backdrop to create a dreamy, effortless tablescape. Set against dripping blossoms, we were inspired by the beautiful and natural architecture set at the Garden. Sue from White Magnolia Design created florals that complimented the shoot with beautiful spring colors in a organic and unconstructional way. From sorbet pinks to muted yellows, this shoot is just blooming with gorgeous towns that is sure to inspire all spring brides! A soft glowly look was created by our makeup artist, Susan Lim to compliment the natural beauty of our bride along with effortless and easy hair by Jewel Hair Design. Gold chiavari chairs, beautiful cream Arte Latica plate settings and gorgeous statement gowns from Inbal Dror allowed this “Fleur de Rever” come to life.

5 Nail Polish Ideas for Your Wedding Day

Hello, fellow brides! It’s Kara from Politics of Pretty and while my wedding is just about six months away, I’m beginning to focus on the details. When it comes to bridal look, you may have the dress, the shoes and accessories…but have you thought about your nails? A polished manicure on your wedding day is just as important as the hair and makeup. From glamorous glitter to new twists on romantic pinks, I’ve rounded up five nail polish hues every bride will love.

First and foremost, sheer pink nails are timeless and never go out of style. I recommend two or three coats of L’Oreal Color Riche Nail in How Romantic. I love how pure and low-key this shade is. Deborah Lippmann in Chantilly Lace has a sheer-iridescent pink shimmer if you’re looking for a modern twist on a classic shade. If you’re struggling to come up with “something blue” to wear, you may want to consider this Deborah Lippmann in Misty Morning. It’s the perfect sheer blue-grey crème. It’s soft enough to look subtle with your ensemble yet eye-catching to make a statement.

Because I’m opting for a simple satin gown on my wedding day, I’ve been thinking about a glamorous gold polish. Essie in Jiggle Hi Jiggle Low is an opaque glitter molten gold that will stand out without overdoing it. If you’re thinking of dressing in head-to-toe white, then milky white nails are equal parts modern and chic. Essie in Marshmallow has been a long-time fan favorite and it isn’t too white or too opaque. Once you’ve decided on your bridal polish, make sure you get a professional manicure and pedicure one day before the wedding so you can show off your rings!

Modern DC Art Gallery Wedding

When the bride just so happens to be a graphic design extraordinaire PLUS mama to two of the cutest pups you ever did see, you’ve got a wedding that’s going to be one for the books. Designed with a decidedly modern flair planned by A. Dominick Events, it’s a total breath of fresh air with the most unexpected moments we’ve seen. (Read: a GoPro camera attached to Gatsby the frenchie’s bowtie collar to capture the ceremony!) More from Vicki Grafton right here.

From The Bride…Jeff and I met about five years ago at work for a government contracting company. We kept our relationship kind of quiet at first, but after a year or so, it was hard to hide! Luckily, we work on different projects, so it was not an issue at all.

Jeff and I really wanted to have a wedding right in DC. I’m from the area and he’s a Detroit transplant, but we both really love the city and wanted to do something unique. We selected Long View Gallery because it provided us with almost a blank canvas to plan our event. I was actually an art major for my undergrad, so it was really cool that we could have our special day in a gallery that reminded me of college! As a Creative Director I’ve worked on a lot of website and graphic design and over the years, I’ve been a bridesmaid in 9 other weddings and put my talents to use for my friends designing wedding websites, invitations, programs, menus, etc. Needless to say, I was really excited to finally get to design my own wedding!

I was inspired by my Monique L’Huillier ‘Candy’ dress (in Blush) for the wedding invitations – the blind impression on the invitation itself mimics the decoration on my dress. I took a calligraphy class from Michele Hattie Fritz of Meant to Be Calligraphy and she encouraged me to use my own calligraphy for the printed materials. I found an awesome printer in Portland, Oregon to do the printing. The invitations were actually published on the Oh So Beautiful Paper blog too! I ended up designing all the paper products: programs, menus, escort cards, place cards, social media table tents to tell people about our hashtag on Facebook and Instagram, drink signs, guest book signs, favors, welcome bags and notes.

Based on my graphic design background and the fact that we were having it in an art gallery, we wanted to pull in color and design and ended up using Pantone colors for the table numbers. The colors featured several of the popular Pantone colors of the year: Radiant Orchid, Emerald, Tangerine Tango, etc. I had a crazy idea for these wood sculpture centerpieces that would be combining different shapes and sizes of wood and have tea lights on them to cast interesting shadows. Jeff and the groomsmen were able to cut out and assemble them all, then we stained and painted each one with different stripes of color to match the Pantone colors for each table. Our guest book was a Pantone writing journal that was actually a christmas gift from my boss. Each page had a few swatches of different colors and we invited guests to find their favorite color and leave us a note.

Also, we really wanted to make sure that our full family was included. Jeff’s two sons from his previous marriage, were Junior Groomsmen and did a reading during the wedding, “I Like You” by Sandol Stoddard Warburg. They practiced so much that they even had it mostly memorized! We also had our two dogs, Penelope, a Boston Terrier, and Gatsby, a French Bulldog, in the wedding. The boys walked the dogs down the aisle and Gatsby actually filmed the whole ceremony with a GoPro camera mounted on his harness. Penny had a custom made harness – we found a necklace from Anthropologie and my mom sewed it onto a black mesh harness for her! Guests who stayed in our room blocks also had a great surprise – Penny and Gatsby were featured on a custom tote bag I designed and had printed by CustomInk and the Welcome note too! My awesome sisters-in-laws, both named Jennifer, were very helpful during the whole event. They each did a reading, helped wrangle the dogs and Jennifer Frazier, married to my brother DJ, made 200 caramels that were packaged and included in the guest Welcome Bags.

Our entire event was so wonderful – so many family and friends were able to attend and all our vendors did an awesome job helping make everything perfect. The food, drinks and cake from Occasions was delicious and received rave reviews from all the guests. We had two signature cocktails that showcased both of our tastes – a sweet and light Watermelon Cooler for me and a refined pear Modern Old Fashioned for Jeff. The cake was almond with raspberry filling and had a beautiful gold-brushed buttercream effect at the top of each layer. There was also a late night snack for guests – mini hamburgers, fries and gelato cones. The flowers from Studio DBI were gorgeous, utilizing peonies which are one of my favorite flowers!

Our photographer, Vicki, was amazing. She has such vision and deals well with all the family onlookers. She actually took photos at my brother and sister-in-law’s wedding in November 2012 as well, which was how we knew she does such great work! Our wedding planners, Aimee and Cindy, were so helpful throughout the process. Everything ran so smoothly. We couldn’t have done any of this without them! They suggested most of our fabulous vendors, thought of things we never would have and helped us through the last minute things that popped up.

Romantic + Chic Art Gallery Wedding

For starters, how jaw-dropping gorgeous is this Lela Rose gown!? Elegant and ethereal, this romantic fete crafted by Mallory Joyce is sure to sweep you off your feet. Brimming with olive branch accents and lush garden roses, every detail Blue Canary Events coordinated has SMP written all over it. And with Joey Kennedy behind the camera, every moment captured is a wedding dream come true.

From the beautiful Bride… Will and I both grew up in the south but met through mutual friends while living and working in Washington, DC. We considered getting married in North Carolina since both sets of parents have mountain homes in the Asheville area but ultimately decided on DC because it’s where we met…plus we thought it would be really fun to have a DC destination wedding over Memorial Day weekend.

We had to plan the entire wedding while doing long distance. I still lived in Washington, DC while Will was attending business school in Chapel Hill, North Carolina. Planning was even more difficult because both sets of parents lived in North Carolina. However, our 17 month engagement alleviated some of the stress by giving us more time to plan. Will and I had three top priorities when starting the planning process. First and foremost, we wanted our guests (and of course us) to have a lot of fun! In order to do so we knew we had to have a fantastic band and a generous bar. Secondly, we wanted to use an iconic DC venue for our reception. We chose the Corcoran Gallery of Art, located a block from the White House, as our reception venue because it was the perfect balance of timeless elegance and historic romance. Lastly, we knew we had to hire an excellent florist and photographer. We really wanted to bring a freshly picked garden-style atmosphere to our historic art gallery setting, and Sidra Forman was the perfect florist to do so. As for photographers, I was randomly introduced to Pittsburgh-based photographer Joey Kennedy and couldn’t have wished for a more perfect match. He captured our wedding weekend (and engagement session) beautifully – not to mention Joey has one of the most contagious personalities out there!

Will and I wanted to incorporate some personal touches into our wedding. I wore my mother –in-law’s Belgian lace cathedral-length veil during the ceremony – the veil looked absolutely stunning with my Lela Rose wedding dress and it was such an honor to wear the family heirloom. For the reception we had a Bourbon Bar and a few signature cocktails… Will’s favorite cocktail is a Manhattan and mine is an Old Fashioned. Additionally, we both love to travel (plus I work in hospitality) so we wanted to incorporate travel into our wedding day. Instead of a traditional guest book we had a pushpin travel map and 1969 World Atlas – both ordered from Etsy. We asked our guests to place a pin on the map for their favorite destination and also asked them to leave a note (or special travel tip) in the atlas book. Both “guest books” are on display in our new house. The atlas is on our coffee table and the travel map hanging on our wall.

My absolute favorite part of the evening was when Will got up and played guitar with the band during the song Mustang Sally. I danced like the ultimate groupie but Will stole the entire show. Everyone was so impressed by his guitar playing and I’ve never been more proud! Another personal favorite was at the end of the night when we did our send off. Our florist had created a beautiful garland piece to go on our getaway “car”, which was a DC pedicab. We pedaled around DC listening to Motown and soaking it all in before heading back to our hotel. It was truly the perfect ending to the perfect weekend!

Elegant All-White Wedding in Washington D.C.

Elegant, timeless and all around perfect, this gorgeous D.C. wedding on the shores of the Potomac planned by Events In The City is just as pretty as they get. Covered in stunning shades of whites and greens, and overflowing with beautiful blooms from Holly Chapple Flowers – this collection of images from Rebekah Murray Photography couldn’t be more lovely if they tried.

[iframe http://www.youtube.com/embed/hW4N-XaBJP0 600 338]

From Events In The CityThe design of this wedding was inspired by the beauty of the water for Brad who is a Navy officer and the classic timelessness of Alexandra’s stunning Vera Wang gown.

When we found a linen that was made of tulle and looked like soft waves in the water, we knew that we had found the perfect accent for the king table. A dramatic floral runner and lush elevated designs ran the length of the king table in crisp whites with tons of texture. Each guest’s place setting featured a pocket personalized with hand calligraphy that held their menu and a special note from the bride and groom.

In lieu of favors, Alexandra and Brad made donations to each guest’s favorite charitable foundation. Guests were mesmerized by the live painting of the reception and checked back throughout the night to see her capture the beauty of the evening. There was not a dry eye in the room when Alexandra surprised Brad, and all the guests, by serenading him with his favorite song.

From the beautiful Bride… Our May wedding was a dream and the most fairytale day we could have imagined. After literally chasing my now-husband, Brad, around the track field back in high school, our goofy friendship blossomed into a deep love for one another. With Brad being a Naval Officer, our love story over the past eight years has whisked us from the Atlantic Ocean to the Pacific Ocean and back.

We wanted a classic and elegant wedding with a touch of the bright and open charm inspired by our coastal living. Both classic and bright, the color white was the centerpiece of all of our wedding designs. Our vendors diligently worked to unearth stunning white textures from a lace band incorporated into our wedding invitations to the waved tulle tablecloth of the king table at our reception. My Vera Wang tulle gown was the epitome of elegance and softness that I wanted to wear as I danced all night along the wispy chiffon dresses of my bridesmaids.

However, what really set the perfect foundation for our wedding atmosphere and style was our venue on the Potomac River, comprised of floor to ceiling windows with water views and an open interior of vast white columns and ceilings. Everything on our special day fell together with such ease and beauty thanks to the creativity and efforts of my mother and countless talented wedding professionals.

Contemporary and Chic Dupont Circle Hotel Wedding

I love everything about this wedding. Beginning with the fact that the Groom’s got ready together, to the blessings of the rings, to ending the evening with DC’s famous cupcakes, every detail is simply put: adorable. Casey Hendrickson Photography captured a gallery illustrating the joy and love felt throughout the day and you can see it all come full circle, right here!

From Casey Hendrickson Photography… He knew Nathan hated surprises…“But first, Justin has a song to sing for Nathan!” smiled the officiant. Justin was grinning ear to ear, Nathan had this look of terror (and love), and then everyone started crying because it was beyond sweet!

Justin and Nathan are so perfect for each other, and it’s so obvious by how natural everything is with them. Their couples shoot was such a breeze, and I loved how they spent the time to get ready and enjoy this special day with every moment – together. When we arrived at the ceremony location, they were greeted with nothing but love and excitement. Tears glistened in their eyes as they said their vows, and I was OBSESSED with their ring warming part of the ceremony. They had tied their rings around a silk ribbon, and passed it to every friend and family member there to pray blessings over the rings so that by the time they reached Justin and Nathan again, they would have many prayers and well wishes over them. How amazing is that? After celebrating the two coming together, they shared cupcakes (what DC is known for – AMAZING cupcakes, and I wasn’t disappointed), and finished the night with one of the most touching first dances I’ve ever seen.

Elegant Garden Wedding in Washington DC

What could be more romantic than a wedding brimming with white garden roses followed by a candle-lit dinner under the stars? Karson Butler Events worked their magic to create a garden party ambiance with help from talents like Laura Hooper Calligraphy and Windows Catering Company, and Amie Decker Beauty had the bride looking flawless!  You can see all the lovely details captured by Abby Jiu right here.

From Karson Butler Events… Lisbeth and Dave’s wedding combined a romantic and ethereal feeling to the historic venue Decatur House on Lafayette Square – just steps away from The White House in Washington, DC. The perfectly manicured courtyard area was used for both the ceremony and dinner and provided the perfect backdrop for their desired elegant golden English garden party. A clear top tent beautifully draped with twinkle lights provided a gorgeous dinner under-the-stars feeling and also provided protection when a quick rain cloud quickly passed through. Sidra Forman created perfectly imperfect arrangements of white, cream, ivory hydrangeas, garden roses, and dahlias mixed with dusty miller, seeded eucalyptus, and lots of greenery texture. The asymmetrical chuppah with vintage lace was stunning. We loved Lisbeth’s bridal style (the Jennifer Behr headband completed the look perfectly!) and thoroughly enjoyed working with this lovely couple! The talented Abby Jiu captured the festivities beautifully.

From The Bride… Joyous, Ethereal, Romantic, and Fun- these are the words that come to mind when describing our wedding celebration. We loved the mixture of farm tables and round tables with an abundant of candles creating an ambience of an intimate candlelight dinner party. And, the asymmetrical chuppah with vintage lace, white garden roses, and greenery was one of my favorite details our florist Sidra Forman helped us bring to life. One of our favorite moments of the night was the boozy snow cone machine and the late night bar snacks we served including pigs in blankets, sliders, and soft pretzels (yum!)

Bride Lisbeth’s Favorite Wedding Detail: Sitting under the stars at dinner and enjoying the joyous moment with all of our closest family and friends.

Groom David’s Favorite Wedding Detail: The anticipation and then seeing Lisbeth at our first look. Then spending the whole day together, laughing and joking throughout pictures, which put me totally at ease before the ceremony.

Glamorous Washington DC Ballroom Wedding

You’d never, EVER guess it, but this D.C. dream wedding? Well, it was actually plan B. After a double-booked venue in England threw this couple’s plans for a loop, they decided on a stateside ballroom affair coordinated by Atrendy Wedding and the result was a day straight from the storybooks. Dressed in shades of ivory, gray and gold, it’s timeless to a T and Amelia Johnson captured each bit – gold leaf cake and all.

From Amelia Johnson PhotographyCristin and Piers planned for an elegant wedding in the countryside of England. One double-booked English venue later came the necessity of a Plan B. Cristin and Piers arrived at the brilliant, albeit last-minute decision to have their wedding in Washington DC, closer to family. Thankfully the Anglophile couple’s favorite English band was able to travel. Being in the design industry coupled with extensive travel led the couple to an old-world-meets-contemporary-luxury aesthetic for their wedding.

The Anderson House was the perfect venue to marry sleek modern design with antique flair. The Anderson House is rich in architectural detail. This served as a pleasing counterpoint to the light and airy color palette and florals. Cristin designed the all-white paper suite herself as well as the C+P monogram used throughout the decor. Cristin’s stunning Oscar de la Renta gown was complimented by her Grandmother’s white gold and diamond bracelet.

Thankfully Plan B in this case was not second best. Cristin and Piers got ready on separate floors of Cristin’s Grandmother’s nearby home. Guests danced the night away and exited to monogrammed sugar cookies as they sent the couple off with sparklers. Cristin and Piers’ wedding was a fully charged celebration of a love that has already learned the importance of improvising!

Elegant Omni Shoreham Hotel Wedding

We love couples who make sure their Big Day represents them. And this duo? Well, they did just that with a personalized elegant affair. We’re talking silver elephants, dirt cake, and plenty of creamy hues splashed throughout. With vendors like Events In The City and Holly Heider Chapple Flowers by their side, amazing things are bound to happen and luckily Vicki Grafton captured it all right here.

From Events In The CityWhen meeting couples for the first time there are many attributes that you absorb and take in, making your evaluation as to how things may play out and what the complete planning dynamic may be. We were thrilled that they chose Events in the City and were ready to get started! The word that I would use to describe Marlee and Aaron was sincere. They wanted every detail to reflect who they were and what they represented, which was true and sincere love.Photography is so important and we were thrilled to work with Vicki Grafton. Marlee’s color palette consisted of hue’s rather then colors. There was soft ocean mist like blues and gentle buttery creams. We enjoyed mixing classic expressions with a fun and joyful beat. Nothing was a better representation of this then her invitations by Fig 2 Design. Marlee and Aaron envisioned a classically beautiful ceremony with a reception that twinkled. Keeping her florals designed by Holly Chapple; soft and creamy set the perfect tone and highlighted our stunning bridal party.

When guests entered the reception they were greeted with a mix of long king tables that encourage a communal and comfortable dining experience and classic rounds. As they were seated their eyes could dance off of a glass burst charger which reflected every light that it touched. The evening was complete with guests dancing under twinkling glass globes, that gave an almost al fresco experience from inside the ballroom of the Omni Shoreham. Chicka Chicka Boom Boom installed them at varying heights to allow the light to dance along with our guests. The dance floor remained packed all night long due to the musical stylings of Free Spirit. Additional personal touches found through out the event include a giant silver Jumbo at the escort card table to represent their alma mater Tufts University. In lieu of a wedding cake they chose to share dirt cake, which is how Aaron had celebrated every momentous event in his life. At the end of the night Marlee and Aaron were smiling ear to ear and were no further from each other then a hands reach away; just the way we like to see our newlyweds!

Meet SMP Blogger Bride: Politics of Pretty!

You know her as Beauty Editor over at the Glitter Guide and from her own fabulous journeys on Politics of Pretty, but today you’ll get to know Kara Manos our newest Blogger Bride, sharing all her wedding planning adventures here on SMP. Prepped and polished, she’ll spill every step of her journey down the aisle, and what better way to get things started than with a sweet introduction below!

From Kara… Hi SMPers! I’m thrilled to be sharing my wedding journey with Style Me Pretty as your newest blogger bride. You may know me from my beauty blog, Politics of Pretty or perhaps from my work at Glitter Guide as a Beauty Editor, but here I’m chatting from one real bride to another.

The story on how I met my fiancé, Curt is an interesting one to say the least. You see, timing is everything. We met in college through mutual friends, but it wasn’t exactly love at first sight. According to Curt, I gave him zero attention. Because we ran in the same circle we saw one another every so often and exchanged a few messages here and there via social media. It wasn’t until almost three years later when I was out with a group of friends that Curt and I ran into one another and reconnected at a bar. Two days afterwards he called me and we went on our first date, and the rest is history! To this day when we tell people our story and how we met, he always says, “patience is key.”

Curt proposed on our two year anniversary. He managed to completely trick me in to thinking we were going out to dinner to celebrate. I got all dolled up ready to go out, but before leaving the house he asked me to watch a project he’d been working on (he’s a videographer) and wanted to film my reaction. In the first half of the video he had compiled footage of my friends and family wishing us a happy anniversary, but midway through he was asking my mom and dad for their blessing to propose. Of course, the biggest surprise came after I’d finished watching the video! We’ve been engaged for almost a year and while wedding planning hasn’t exactly been diamonds and rosé – it’s certainly an experience I’ll never forget. SEE THE PROPOSAL VIDEO HERE!

I’m so excited to share this journey with you fellow brides, and from makeup trends to health and fitness, I’ll be covering my planning process and how beauty is such an important part of the wedding day. Until next time!

xoxo, Kara

Traditional Washington, D.C. Wedding at the Hay-Adams Hotel

Elegant and timeless with some fun personality-packed details thrown in for good measure, this D.C. wedding captured by Marcella Treybig Photography will make your heart happy this Monday morning. From the Bride’s gorgeous gown to that sprinkle-covered cake, this gallery is overflowing with pretty.

From Marcella Treybig PhotographyThis wedding was traditional and elegant, but was also filled with lots of fun details that showcased the couple’s personal style and uniqueness. A few of these personal touches were: sea food apps & entree (gourmet tuna wraps, salmon sashimi, Alaskan King Crab salad, etc.), signature cocktails, her favorite flower- Peonies, and a wedding cake covered in rainbow sprinkles & bow ties. The Catholic ceremony was held in a church setting in Georgetown University DC at the Dahlgren Chapel, while the reception was held at The Hay-Adams Hotel in Washington, D.C. This wedding was so much fun and I enjoyed every minute of capturing this couple’s special day. Another big personal touch was the band they selected, The Dream Team, from NYC. The band played at the MOH (and sister of the bride’s) wedding the previous year. They were such a hit that Meghan & Patrick (Bride and Groom) flew them all in to stay and perform for their wedding as well. While looking through this album, you can really see the love and excitement they were feeling that day. An interesting detail! The brides wedding dress had a detachable train! So she’s not actually wearing a second dress, it’s the same dress, just without the fluffy big train.

Classic Washington DC Military Wedding

When it comes to classic, nothing melts my heart more than a traditional military wedding. And this one from Jana Williams? It’s a doozy. Karson Butler Events left every inch dripping in the sweetest kind of romance, from the dusty pink palette to the ruffled cake from Maggie Austin and everything in between. You can find the whole thing over here. Oh, and the film from Simple Flare is a must-see, so don’t be shy, press play below.

From the beautiful Bride…Ten years ago, our story began in the picturesque German city of Heidelberg. An invitation was given to me as the “new girl” in high school to join the crowd in the gardens of the Heidelberg Castle for the legendary summer gathering. My dad was in the Army and we just arrived in Germany, so I was curious. An old friend, who was one of my bridesmaids, guided me up the 315 steps to the castle overlooking the city. While sitting on a bench, just yards from where my dad proposed to my mom twenty-two years before, a handsome young man approached me. Will sat next to me on that warm summer night and our story began!

The next two years in Germany were filled with love and laughter and adventures all over Europe.

The college years arrived and we followed the call to Aggieland in College Station, Texas. Will joined the Texas A&M Corps of Cadets and I lived down the road with a lively group of Fightin’ Texas Aggie Cheerleaders. Will quickly learned how to “Mug Down” (that is, kiss your date whenever the football team scored) with me, his high school sweetheart. We made the best college memories together. I can’t think of a memory that doesn’t involve the two of us.

Will followed the call to serve as a Soldier in the US Army. After finishing my degree, I needed a trip to be with Will and flew to Hawaii where he is stationed. Will wasted no time; he took me up the mountain, past the waterfall, and back down again to an isolated beach where he proposed! It took my breath away.

Our magical day was filled with overflowing love from our closest family and friends. Will and I wanted our day to reflect who we are and the love that we share.

Washington DC Flag Themed Wedding

In a continued salute to our fearless Vets, we’re sharing a flag-inspired wedding that redefines “theme” weddings for the better. It’s what happens when an American girl falls for an English boy, and they plan a wedding celebrating both their great nations. It’s a red, white and blue lovefest that Megan Chase Photography is giving us more than enough reasons to love.

From Megan Chase PhotographyI am thrilled to share this glamorous DC flag themed wedding! It is your classic love story of an American girl and an English boy. They met at a work training and years later, made the commitment of forever when Chris moved across the pond for Joanna. They celebrated their love with an intimate affair at DAR Constitution Hall next door to the White House. There wasn’t a dry eye in the grand ballroom during speeches. The entire day was decorated with red, white and blue touches to signify the marriage of two countries. Flag bunting adorned the space along with tons of DIY details. My favorite touch was the cherry pie cutting! There is so much to fall head over heels for like the flirty Kate Spade bridesmaids dresses, the perfectly sweet arrangements of roses and lilies and, of course, incredibly personal touches that will tug at your heart strings.
