Most recently, BKB announced the addition of a bridal stylist to the staff. With so many small details needed to be attended to on a wedding day, BKB’s bridal stylist will work alongside the BKB team to ensure any issues that may come up over the course of a wedding are resolved quickly, efficiently, and stress-free for the couple. A “day-of assistant” if you will, our stylist will handle many logistics that can sometimes overwhelm a couple or be a distraction on such a milestone day. For instance, she will distribute and pin boutonnieres and corsages, adjust your bridal gown for wedding photos, help keep the wedding day timeline on schedule, gather important individuals for photos, bustle your gown and of course, carry your favorite lipstick so you will always have it on hand throughout the day. Logistics aside, she will also be there to hold your hand and give you a shoulder to rely on.

WHAT SHOULD A BRIDE LOOK FOR WHEN PUTTING A PHOTO AND VIDEO TEAM TOGETHER?

A great team has a videographer and photographer that share a similar philosophy in documenting a wedding, including their approach to working with the couple in preparation for the big day. Finding a photographer and videographer who share similar philosophies and styles can make a wedding day seamless, and also results in photos and films that compliment each other. Things to look for include:

Timeline: Knowing what their needs are from you during your wedding day can really help to ensure a smooth flow.

Shooting Style: Both Jenny Moloney and Paperweight Films take a candid, documentary approach to shooting weddings, making it an easy fit. Be sure to understand both the photographer and videographer approach to shooting a wedding day.

Lighting Style: Ask if they prefer more natural light, or if they bring additional lighting. For moments like a reception, this can have a real effect on the other.

Cost: A lot of couples tend to focus more budget on either photo or video. It can be very beneficial to do a lot of researching in finding a photographer and videographer with similar experience.

WHAT DO JENNY MOLONEY PHOTOGRAPHY AND PAPERWEIGHT FILMS DO TO MAKE IT SEAMLESS FOR EACH OTHER?

Communication: There are three main times we communicate about a wedding; before, during and after. Reaching out before the wedding day to chat about the couple’s special requests and each other’s plan of action helps for no surprises and no frustration on the wedding day. On the wedding day, we make sure to communicate all day with each other about where we plan to be to get a shot or special moment. Chatting after the wedding is a great way to debrief the experience, and make plans for submissions.

Awareness: By staying aware of each other’s position, we can stay out of each other’s shots, or communicate about how we can both make it work.

Flexibility: Keeping in mind that while we have a lot of the same needs, they are often executed in different ways. Setting up expectations and always being respectful of each others needs, makes all the difference.

Collaboration: One of the best parts about working together as a team is collaborating to create a beautiful creative product for our clients. When you are lucky and cultivate a trust between each other, the results can be magical! 

Respect: We’re there for the same thing – to document all the moments a couple will want to remember. However, we have two very different needs for a lot of those moments. For example, during toasts, a videographer needs to be rolling the whole time, to capture the toast in it’s entirety. A photographer needs a collection of still images. On the other side, during formal portraits, it is important to remember that the photographer needs to get their shots done without a lot of interruption from the videographer. 

MOMENTS WHERE WORKING AS A TEAM IS ESSENTIAL TO BE SUCCESSFUL INCLUDE:

Getting Ready with the Bride and Groom: We work together to make sure we all get the shots we need. If Jenny is shooting the bridal gown outside, she always lets Paperweight Films know. If bridal details are being shot, we take turns, or find different angles and shoot at the same time. Often in the groom’s suite, during moments like tying ties, we find the best light together and either shoot over each other’s shoulders or at complementary angles. We’re constantly communicating about moving, switching with each other, and making sure we’re not in each other’s shots. 

Ceremony: The ceremony is always approached with a “game plan.” We look at the set up, let each other know where we will be standing, what our framing looks like, and get rolling. Special moments are discussed, such as the bride coming down the aisle, rings being exchanged, and first kiss so we’re aware of what the other is doing.

Sparkler Exits: We always discuss what lenses we are each using and come up with a game plan. Often Jenny and Dave from Paperweight Films shoot side by side following the bride and groom as they come through.

WHAT DO JENNY MOLONEY PHOTOGRAPHY AND PAPERWEIGHT FILMS DO TO MAKE IT THE BEST EXPERIENCE FOR THE COUPLE?

Both Jenny and Paperweight Films have styles that result in romantic, warm, and timeless images that work beautifully together. Because we take the easy but important steps of communicating with each other throughout the wedding process, we show up to the wedding ready to work well together. This adds an extra positive, relaxed vibe to the wedding day! By being good to each other, we create the best experience and products for our couples, which is the of course the most important thing!

From the beautiful Bride… I met Max about five years ago. The minute I met Max, I had butterflies… and I still have them today! Lucky for him, when Max proposed, I said YES, and our wedding plans soon began. Starting the wedding planning process was scary; I realized I had no idea where, when or what I wanted. But I did know a few things: I wanted a full weekend with our closest friends and family, I wanted a smaller wedding, and I definitely wanted nature. I saw a bunch of gorgeous farm weddings on SMP and accordingly Googled “farm wedding,” reaching out to all of the venues that came up.  Riverside Farm was one of them, and our very first (and only) site visit. We visited in July, and I must say the visit was pretty magical. From the inn we were set up in, to the grounds viewing, we knew Riverside just felt right. We secured our date and never looked back.

With our venue locked, we started getting into the details. I wanted our wedding to be reflective of us, filled with personal touches, and tightly knit with friends and family. I loved that we picked our menu, our band, and our flowers together; wrote every place card; and even designed our wedding invitations. The whole weekend was us personified!

For our accents and colors, we were as neutral as possible. When you have a backdrop as beautiful as the rolling mountains of Vermont, you don’t want to distract anyone with anything grandiose. Pale pinks, ivories, greys, and pops of some bright colors were trickled into all of our details. My bridesmaids wore any shade of grey and ivory that they preferred. They all looked beautiful, and paired so nicely! The groomsmen wore navy and Max work a lighter blue hue. Our flowers for the reception and ceremony were a mix of soft pinks, ivory, silvery greys, and were accented with either birch branches, or vases. The birch was elegant, yet matched the campy nature of the venue.

We put a lot of work into making our wedding day special, but it was really our family, friends and vendors that made the weekend as incredible as it was.  Our best and closest friends and family stayed on the grounds with us (and at Amee Farm down the road), so they were embedded throughout every aspect of the event. Our caterers crafted the most delicious menus for the rehearsal, wedding and brunch, using flavors indigent to Vermont. Our florist went above and beyond from just a few pictures I pinned on Pinterest. Our band kept the dance floor filled all night. And our photographers and videographers, well, they captured our whole weekend beautifully without even being noticed by our guests! The Riverside team kept all of the vendors connected and made the entire planning process seamless. We really lucked out; we ended up spending lots of time on the phone with these guys, and even making some great friends!

My advice for couples planning their big day: Keep it personal, personal touches will make your day a piece of you, and not a generic event. Choose the vendors you instantly like upon first meeting, you’ll be spending a lot of time with them on the phone and in person. And finally, make it fun! We had the best time planning our wedding, and couldn’t have been happier with the results!

As it all came together, the theme I had my heart set on was “enchanted forest” and Greg reluctantly agreed. We tried to plan out every detail and, unbelievably, our wedding was everything and more than we had hoped for.

The wedding day started a little hectically for us, the wedding party, and friends who had the task of hanging stars in the barn and placing signs. Shortly after blowing up balloons, the boys were allowed to retreat to a pre-planned game of frisbee golf while the ladies finished the decorating and started getting ready. Erin McKenna and Vivan Infantino were onsite for hair and makeup transformations and made us look more beautiful than I thought possible.

We ended up running a little behind on the hair and makeup and were barely able to get the first look in – I’m so glad we did! On the car ride down into the woods I was nervous. Once I saw Greg that all melted and we were able to enjoy the moment together. Next we separated once again to take our places on top of the hill with our friends and family. At this point I grabbed my bouquet that had the hand-dyed silk ribbons, that my Grandma Pat and I made my Prom dress out of, tied around the stems and joined my dad and our horse (that I would be hiding behind). The ceremony was beautiful. I was a little worried about the handwritten vows but it ended up being one of the highlights of the entire wedding. My vows were good, but I had no idea that Greg was a poetic mastermind! Everyone was laughing and crying and talking about his vows for the rest of the night.

The cocktail hour felt like a blur. We got to try our signature cocktail, the McBrady Margarita, and the delicious passed appetizers, and we took pictures with our families. Next was the dress change and our grand entrance into the barn. Is it always that loud?! Our reception was so fun! The food was delicious, the bartenders were handing out shots, and there were multiple surprises (for Greg) throughout the night that made our wedding a truly memorable experience for us and for our guests. The first surprise came from Greg’s mom, Linda. She spent countless hours creating a slideshow of Greg growing up that matched the song that she chose for their dance. It was touching and hilarious at the same time.

The planning for Greg’s second surprise started years ago when I decided that I wanted to sing to him at our wedding. After dinner, and unfortunately right after Bel Biv Devoe’s “Poison” was played (how could I be expected to follow that?!), Greg and I got up to thank our guests for traveling great distances to share in our special day. Once I got the microphone, I invited my brother and friend up to the front at which point they dragged their guitars and amps out from under the DJ table. The look on Greg’s face was priceless when he realized what was going on (victory!). I sang “At Last”, by Etta James, for my surprised husband because he had mentioned that as being his favorite song that I had ever sang to him – also the lyrics are beautiful. Afterwards there was a lot of hugging, and dancing, and CAKE. We finished the night with a bonfire overlooking the moon’s reflection on the reservoir – a perfect ending to a perfect day.

From Jane Ackerman of Kith & Kin… I am one of those people who feels as if I am in an ever-tightening vice as the warm weather days decline sharply and the lock-down that is a New England winter begins to take hold. Daylight becomes fleeting – night arrives at 3:00 pm. You’re indoors a lot. The roads are bad. And more often than not, it’s damp, gray and cold outside. It’s enough to make you feel desperate and it lasts for 6 months.

As an antidote to that feeling of impending doom, I decided to squeeze all the color and light I could out of the last few bright days of autumn.

Marmalade- and crimson-colored leaves, the comforting small of woodsmoke, and sunlight dancing on the water inspired me to gather friends for an Autumn Picnic by the Lake. I pulled together vintage picnic baskets, table cloths and enamelware from my collection, along with items found on Ebay and Etsy, and dahlias from the Kith & Kin garden, and invited friends to join me on the shores of Lake Fairlee in Vermont.

On the menu: pressed sandwiches; hot dogs, spicy sausages and tomato soup cooked over a fire; local cheeses and hearty crackers; fresh figs, late-season raspberries and cold beer. Gourmet s’mores with handmade graham crackers and marshmallows from King Arthur Four (whose headquarters is in my home town), caramel apples sprinkled with pink sea salt, apple and pumpkin pies, carrot and deep chocolate cakes, and ice cold cider from a local farm stand rounded out the feast.

I brought along water colors and crayons for the kids and invited them to create impressions of fall. Vintage story books with autumnal themes and field guides to trees were a window into the lore and biology behind Vermont’s break-taking October display. The was lots of room for running around and even some fishing, while wool blankets and vivid plaid throws kept the grown-ups cozy. Boats handmade by my friends, Jeff and Kathy, were an invitation to enjoy the lake.

From Jessica Garmon… This beautiful wedding was held in midst of the rolling hills of Brookfield, Vermont. A little “Norman Rockwall”-esque town 45 minutes outside of the state’s capital. The Groom, Ira, grew up spending his summers on his uncle’s farm. So when he brought Lauren with him last summer to visit for the first time he knew that it was the perfect time and place to propose.

Together they decided that this was also the perfect place to say their “forevers” to each other. Their close friends and family all came into Brookfield for a gorgeous weekend celebrating Lauren and Ira. On the same farm he grew up playing in as a child. Rolling hills of greens and blues, tall trees and lush landscapes. The wedding day had a perfect cool breeze to match the calm and happy couple. They wanted to keep things simple, elegant and enjoyable. Lauren even had friends and family create the florals while Ira’s Dad married them. Their wedding was a beautiful representation of their relationship – warm, filled with people that love them and romantic.

These two really spiffed up for their big day, but we managed to get a photo of them on their bicycles so they could remember their other love when they look back at their wedding photos. 

Chelsea and her bridesmaids prepared for the day at the Pitcher Inn, a local spot steeped in vintage ski accessories. These two went for a first look at their rustic red barn wedding venue, the Lareau Farm Inn in Waitsfield, and then said their, I do’s” in a lovely field ceremony beneath a rustic tree branch arbor.

Their ceremony was filled wild wildflower bouquets in studded glass vases, and dinner was served by the fantastic local Flat Bread Pizza, conveniently located right next door to their venue. Guests, who were invited to this celebration by gorgeous letter-pressed invitations, were given local maple syrup as favors, and a bridesmaid of Chelsea’s surprised everyone by scooping up ice cream she had found in town earlier that day!

From the Bride…Pick awesome vendors who you feel comfortable with!  There is so much out there and on the web that it can seem overwhelming when initially looking for people to help support your big day.  Have conversations with a few folks, and see what conversations click. Many people make beautiful wedding things, but only some will be able to match your vision and feel like friends as they do so.  We felt like we could converse and laugh with all of the people who were a part of our wedding during the planning stages, and that sense of relaxation really transferred to the wedding day itself.  Because we picked vendors who were masters of their craft but who also had knowledge of how weddings in general run smoothly, everything turned out perfectly!  My husband, who bore the brunt of my freak outs about wedding details in the few weeks leading up to the wedding, will probably kill me for saying this, but looking at the venue on the day of, I felt like I barely did any of the nitty gritty planning (even though I didn’t have a wedding planner)! That was because our vendors were so awesome!! They just made things happen, and happen beautifully!

We’re all about light, blush infused festivities but sometimes moody, dark details are wildly gorgeous. From Christina Bernales Photography…We incorporated shed antlers, magnolias and very subtle shades of black, ivory and grey with hints of gold. Our goal was to use texture to add depth and keep our color palette clean and simple. A color palette reminiscent of Gothic or Baroque art. We also incorporated plum into the decor to add a little pop of color to the shoot. We were super excited to collaborate with the amazingly talented Rebecca Schoneveld who was kind enough to lend us a couple of dresses for the shoot from Brooklyn and worked with so many wonderful vendors in Vermont. While we used these historic elements to make the shoot unique, we still tried to maintain a clean, elegant aesthetic.

Vermont seems to be the capital of charming weddings, and it only takes one look at this super sweet Boyd Family Farm fête to turn that theory into truth. With the talented Michelle Gardella behind the lens to capture every perfect moment this team of talents (including Sixpence For Your Shoe, BBJ Linen and Mezze Catering) whipped up, it goes without saying – this gallery charmed my socks right off.

On a hillside overlooking the Mount Snow Valley, family and friends gathered as Dina and Tim wed with personalized vows (Tim, a professional musician, sang his) and a touching ceremony. Dina wore Modern Trousseau’s Dove, a lace overlay with dove gray seersucker beneath, truly stunning and unique while Tim was dapper in Charcoal gray!

Dina has always loved the peacefulness, serenity and rustic appeal of Vermont, spending much time there at her family’s West Dover home. She infused so much of that natural and rustic vibe into the wedding decor, through refined and tasteful personal touches, working closely with Mezze Catering in the Berkshires. The raw wood tables and cross back brentwood chairs beneath the soaring sail cloth canopy set the foundation for the design. The stationery throughout incorporated a subtle wood grain, with accents of burgundy and plum through the florals. Dina, the founder of a dog rescue organization, Karuna Bully Rescue, has an incredible devotion to animals, specifically dogs and wanted to incorporate this big aspect of her life into the reception. Through her engagement, she collected vintage dog tags from across the country spanning back decades, and used them on her escort cards, hand selecting the tags to accompany the guests names she felt had the most connection.

The food by Mezze Catering was the epitome of farm fresh, as guests dined in delight, followed by dancing and a spectacular fireworks display, a surprise touch by Dina’s father to end a spectacular night.

From the Bride… Our wedding was set on the property of Tyson’s great aunt’s home adjacent to Billings Farm and Marsh-Billings-Rockefeller National Park in Woodstock, VT, four generations of his family have called this town home (and the his parents were married on the property affectionately called “The Yellow House” in 1983). Fiddleheads, button stems, browns and tans highlighted by the beautiful golden and orange hues of Vermont foliage all came together for our wedding day in September. It was Vermont in every way from the mason jars to the fall colors and Harpoon and Long Trail ales — even one of the cupcakes was maple flavored.

The ceremony was outside in the gardens surrounded by a white picket fence under a lovely archway. Everyone stood around with a drink in hand to watch (to keep it fun and casual). We also danced/walked in together to Mmmm Bop, a favorite song of ours. The cocktail hour with lawn games (and Colgate baggo boards representing our alma mater!) was also outside on the banks of the Ottauquechee River and the stations-style dinner was served under a tent. We also wanted to represent our casual style and therefore, had a cocktail-style stations dinner (no assigned seating, various tables of different sizes and configurations spread amongst the tent) so we could maximize the socializing, noshing, drinking and dancing, and spend more time hanging out with the people we care about! It was great fun and was definitely an inspiration for us!

The location was an easy choice with the Seely family history surrounding us and beautiful customizable location. We loved the walkable community (especially as a PhD candidate in planning and public policy) and really wanted everyone to walk as many places as possible throughout the weekend, so it made Woodstock a great fit (people walked to the rehearsal, wedding, after party, golf, hotels). We also love the charming town near where we lived together after college at Colgate and near our graduate school of Dartmouth. In addition to Tyson’s parents, several of Tyson’s aunts and uncles have also been married there along with cousins, so the property has many memories. We also wanted to be married in a state where we, our friends, and our family, are all afforded the same rights to marry whomever we choose.

The bridesmaids wore brown dresses of their own choosing and the groomsmen wore different brown ties, navy blazers and khakis (also of their own choosing) to give the look a cohesive but not cookie-cutter feel. The florals had button stems and faux fiddleheads my sister made which were unique, funky, and fun and the florist did an incredible job working them into her design. The buttons and fiddleheads are now in a vase in our home. They complimented the hand-made card box my mother made with burlap and lace. The centerpieces, also made by sister, were sticks tied with gems in vases of water with floating candles on top and gave a rustic Vermont feel in addition to beautiful additional light in and around the tent. We served drinks from mason jars to give the event a rustic vibe and the linens were beige to allow the beautiful foliage to stand out. The cupcakes and stations were set on rustic pieces of wood and birch logs to add to the feel. Wooden handmade signs (by Tyson) were placed around the property to direct people. The platform we got married on was made from Advantech Wood (a JM Huber product, of which Tyson is a 5th generation family member of the private owned-family company) and was handmade by Tyson’s dad with the words “Lifetime Guarantee” from the wood left unpainted for us to stand on. We used “I do” and “me too” forks and wore “just married” sunglasses after the ceremony and in Colgate University tradition, the last song of the night was “New York, New York” by Frank Sinatra.

I read a lot of write-ups here, but this one had me welling up a little bit at my desk. It’s a nice reminder that weddings aren’t just about the gorgeous flowers or the dress, but more importantly, the love between two people. From the Bride… Our relationship came as a ray of light during a difficult time. The unfortunate loss of a mutual friend brought us together. While we knew each other in high school, sharing classes together in which Tristam would occasionally tease me and ask me when he could take me out on a date, that was the extent of our relationship. It wasn’t until our senior year of high school when my childhood best friend, Kerri, and a very close high school friend of Tristam passed away in a car accident on her way to work during a snowy winter day. Kerri and I were born a day apart, spent our first days of life in hospital rooms across the hall from one another and coincidently ended up living a few doors down from each other growing up. With the loss of our mutual friend we took solace in our new found friendship, sharing memories and swearing to fulfill the dreams of our passed friend. In the months following Kerri’s death while everyone got back to their lives, Tristam remained a strong support for me and vice versa, thus developing a unique bond. As we started to fall for one another, college loomed in the near future and “being single” remained a prevalent thought in both our minds, perhaps mine more than Tristam’s. However, all it took was my first visit to see Tristam at UVM (where I would later transfer my sophomore year of college) to make me realize I had been in love with Tristam all along, something he had already known and was just waiting for me to come around. After a tough year of loss, transition, uncertainty, and new found friendship we finally decided to officially get together and have been together ever since. We like to believe an angel brought us together and she (Kerri) made sure her friends were taken care of after she left this earth.

The proposal took place on 11-11-11, a day after my birthday at Sunshine Memorial Playground in our hometown. After Kerri, who wanted to be an elementary school teacher, passed away her friends raised enough money to build a playground in her memory at the local elementary school. On Kerri’s birthday (11-11), Tristam took me to the playground in celebration of the back to back birthdays and according to Tristam to “test out” our new camera at “a special place we hadn’t visited in a while”. After playing on the swings together and running around like kids, Tristam suggested we take an action shot of me coming down the slide. I naively followed his instruction, and while wondering why Tristam was fumbling around so much before allowing me to take the trip down the slide (little did I know he was trying to get the ring out of his pocket) I slid down to find him at the bottom, on one knee, with not only the camera but a ring in his hand asking me to be his wife! “There is just something about you, me and infinity, will you marry me?” said Tristam. And of course in smiles and tears the answer was, “yes!” We spent that night celebrating birthdays, new and old memories, and most importantly our engagement with friends and family.

From The Bride…Since Brendan and I both grew up in northern Vermont we wanted to have a wedding that was full of natural details – lots of greenery and wood – but with pretty and feminine elements layered in. Our venue, the Three Stallion Inn, was perfect in every way. The charm of the old Vermont Inn and it’s views of the surrounding mountains were just what we wanted guests to experience. For our ceremony, friends and family were seated on benches next to the horse pasture and we exchanged vows and rings underneath the canopy of a big hundred year old maple tree. One of my favorite memories, besides saying “I Do!”, was looking at our wedding party lined up front. We didn’t have an even amount of guys and girls, so we had everyone mixed up on both sides – and actually had the married couples standing next to each other (which I think is pretty romantic).

For the reception, the sailcloth tent was decorated with cafe lights and small trees tied to the center poles. We carefully selected items that would leave enough room for our family style dinner and still show the natural beauty of the wooden farm tables. In the weeks before the wedding, I hand-painted the rims of votives gold, Brendan cut up small trees to make table number bases and my mother cut and sewed over 180 coordinating napkins to add some print and color to the table setting. Our centerpieces had to be small, so my bridesmaid, also my florist, showed us how to create perfect arrangements in glass milk bottles. As a graphic designer and letterpress printer, I was lucky enough to be able to create all the stationery and signage, including our logo. Brendan and I spent many hours together printing our save the dates, invitations (3-colors!), coasters and menus on our antique 1918 letterpress.

Lastly, as a nod to my German mother and heritage, I choose something that reminded me of one of my favorite places to go in Germany – the Biergarten! Envisioning people toasting and drinking all night long, what better than to provide an official drinking glass! We ordered glass beer mugs with our logo and tied on little tags with German toasts for guests to try out. To end on a sweet note, we served traditional German desserts and mini packets of Haribo Gummy Bears – and then we danced the night away!

From the Bride…2013 was a huge year for us. We had a baby, got engaged and then pulled together our “perfect” wedding 4 months later. It never would have happened without both of our families’ unbelievable support, love and creative skill sets.

Winn & I met in Truckee, CA two years ago. We were both from the East coast, living in the perfect ski town, and we met on the bocce court at the Truckee River Winery. Our relationship took off from the very beginning, sharing a love of skiing, hiking, camping, and fly fishing. We decided a move back East was in our cards when we found out we were having a baby due in January of 2013. We were lucky enough to move back to a beautiful place in Hingham, MA, the Weir River Farm, where Winn works as a Conservation Technician. We love being back East closer to both of our families. I’m originally from the NEK of Vermont and Winn is from West Chester, PA.

Winn proposed to me on my birthday by taking me on a kayak paddle to one of the Boston Harbor Islands (Langley Island), and surprising me with his great-grandmothers engagement ring. I was beyond thrilled and so began our feverish planning for a beautiful VT fall wedding. We choose the Inn at Mountain View farm due to its location in East Burke VT (part of the NEK). Our family and friends traveled across the county to help us celebrate and we couldn’t be more thankful for all their support.

I’ll admit I’m quite the planner. The “vision” of our day had been in my head and “pinned” on my Pinterest board and shared with my family/friends early on. The decor was all done by my family and friends, the flowers were done by my amazing cousin Molly and Aunt Jane – when I say stunning – honestly it was amazing what they did with flowers. My sister, Emily, arrived from CA and hit the ground running, hanging this pennant here and placing this mirror there, my cousin Jessica was always right by my side asking for the next assignment, my mom was amazing with coordinating everything local, my mother-in-law did my makeup, my best friend, sister in laws and aunts all rolled silverware. A dear family friend made the pies. Another dear family friend catered the event. We (both of our entire families) hand collected vintage china from thrift shops throughout New England. My cousin, Jessica, sang a song while we walked down the isle and one of Winn’s best friends sang as everyone was seated. When I say it was a “DIF” wedding I cannot begin to describe how incredibly lucky we are to have such amazing people in our lives.

My absolute favorite part of the day was walking down the aisle to Winn. My best friend married us and we each wrote our own vows which I had transferred onto Winn’s grandmother’s kerchiefs.

From the Bride… “Summer Camp For Adults” was the theme of our wedding weekend in the gorgeous mountains of Vermont. We invited our closest friends and family to join us for 3 full days of pure bliss, away from the stresses of city life, iPhones, wifi, and Instagram. Our ultimate goal was to create an environment where everyone’s differences and similarities would not only mesh well, but would thrive.

We planned a Mexican Fiesta complete with Maracas, Pinatas, and a tequila bar fully stocked with my husbands tequila brand, Tanteo! Field day was another big event during the weekend as it brought out all of our inner child stars, some more competitive than others, but ultimately a ridiculously great time.

My husband & I were both brought up in Jewish homes with similar values and traditions although he grew up Orthodox & I, Reform. It was important that we celebrate the way we live our lives together while still incorporating as many Jewish traditions as possible as a celebration of where we came from and who we are today. We decided to ask our friend, Trevor to marry us under the Vermont state law, and my husband’s brother, Aron under the Jewish law. The ceremony was the most rewarding aspect of our wedding as we wanted it to feel unique to us and our expression of love and commitment while still carrying on our heritage and understanding what it means to be married under the Jewish law.

Trevor sprung ‘vows’ on us under the Chupah which forced us to compose spur of the moment remarks to one another. In the moment, I remember having no clue what I was saying yet words flooded from my mouth so easily. My husband and I look back on that part of the ceremony and think about how lucky we were to be put in a situation where we were forced to say whatever was in our hearts at that exact moment in time, standing hand in hand about to become husband and wife. And to have it captured on film is icing on the cake as I couldn’t remember anything I muttered!

With regards to the design of our wedding, we wanted our guests to say, ‘that’s so Stefanie & Jacob.’ Our apartment looks very similar to how we designed our venue: a love for both nature and city life, we created an atmosphere that was rustic with a splash of NYC glam. A princess wedding gown and Red Carpet hair blend beautifully with a birch tree Chupah and a barn, right? We think so! We picked crystal plates to lie on farm tables with DIY touches all over the place. We had friends help cut, paste, paint, sew and more. It was truly a labor of love.

And last but not least, we want to send major points to our parents, specifically our moms for all of the hard work they put in. We would also like to thank them for holding back judgement and eye rolling as we sat across the dinner table to share our news; ‘we want to get married in a barn on a mountain.’ If you knew either of our parents, you’d know this was the exact opposite of any wedding they would ever plan. But, because they know us so well, they just smiled and said, ‘of course you do.’ With a son in the tequila biz and a freelance makeup artist for a daughter, our parents know by now, we beat to our own drum. And everyone was happy in the end.

From Kristin Burgess of By Emily B. Event Design…Tracey and Ben were one of those couples I connected with immediately. As high school sweethearts with a shared love of great adventure, their playful and carefree energy was something I wanted to be sure I let shine through their wedding theme and design. And the fact that they chose Ohana Family Camp as a venue was all-too-perfect.

Ohana is one of the most exceptional places we have ever been. The energy is warm, welcoming, and amazingly positive while the layout, lake frontage, and camp-atmosphere lend themselves to unlimited fun. Ben and Tracey’s family arrived at the camp Friday, moved into the cabins spotted around the property, and set up for a weekend wedding bash.

The weather on Saturday was stunning: warm and sunny with a few perfect puffy clouds. Following a big, community breakfast in the beautiful Ohana dining room, Tracey and Ben got ready in separate cabins. Tracey slipping into her mother’s wedding dress, which she had had altered in the months beforehand.

The couple exchanged vows on the property overlooking Lake Fairlee with a quintessential Vermont landscape behind them. Cocktail hour followed on the main building’s wrap around porch, where a playful photo booth was set up.

With a vintage carnival theme in mind and plans for a soft, romantic color scheme, By Emily B. transformed Ohana’s dining room. From the super, soft and lush centerpieces by Valley Flower Company to the oversized balloon table numbers, vintage settee at the head table, and gold flatware, Tracey and Ben’s unique, playful, and romantic wedding reception truly came to life. The chefs at Ohana served a bang-up meal, which included tons of local Vermont ingredients and the band, Reckless Breakfast put on an exceptional show.
