Puglia has a wealth of very different beautiful locations which are perfect for those who love the sea, the countryside or arty cities. Many of them have the necessary permits from local authorities to hold civil ceremonies, others have consecrated churches and can host religious weddings, so Puglia can offer you a whole range of possibilities, from the atmosphere and history of magnificent medieval castles to white-washed fortified Masseria farmhouses, where the landowners and their field hands once lived, which have been expertly transformed into exclusive hotels and resorts. Or perhaps you prefer a beautiful historic villa, built by noble or royal families and perfectly restored to show off its precious frescoes and antique furniture; a location where you will feel like a king and queen for your big day! For those who love the simplicity of ancient traditions, a trullo could be just the thing! The first of these round, conical-roofed, stone houses were built in the fourteenth century in and around Alberobello, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, where you can find the greatest concentration of trulli. These unique houses were built without using mortar, apparently so that they could be torn down quickly in order to avoid the habitation tax introduced by the one-time landowner, the King of Naples. Last, but not least, a selection of very picturesque seaside locations, dotted along the hundreds of kilometres of Apulian coastline. You can aim for a relaxed ceremony directly on the beach, or choose one of the exclusive beach clubs with their breath-taking views of the sea, things just couldn’t get better.
