My work is candid-heavy and in a documentary style, sometimes artful and ethereal when the inspiration hits. But all of it is relaxed. I strongly believe that your wedding day should not feel like a photoshoot. I work best when my couples are 100% present for their day, forgetting there's a photographer there and fully trusting me to capture the special moments as they happen. I'm confident and fun, but I'm also gentle and sensitive, which means I can move around your wedding day unobtrusively and conscientiously.
My favorite way to capture a wedding day is on old-school analog 35mm and medium format 120 film. To me, there's a certain poetry about the actual light on your day being captured through the physical format of film. It adds another layer of meaning to the documentation of the day being rooted in time. But honestly, film just always looks effortlessly better than digital.
I prefer to capture candid moments over the 'perfect pose'. I won't pose you for the sake of competing with whatever's trending in wedding photography online. I'm not there to replicate what social media tells us a wedding should look like, I am there to capture it just as it is. Because it really truly is already perfect. And if we can all share that attitude about your day, it will make the photos all the more beautiful.
