Real Wedding: Shea and Syd

Today’s wedding just might be my new favorite wedding. I got a little teaser of it when the bride sent me pictures of her ban.do (the fabulous headpiece studio that we LOVE at SMP), but it wasn’t until earlier this week that I saw all of the pictures. You are going to absolutely fall off your chair when you see how gorgeous this wedding was!

Filled with DIY touches, undeniable charm and a style that is completely envious…every detail of this wedding is simply lovely. Here is a bit about the couple, from the lovely bride, Shea…

Alright, so to give you info on how this all unfolded – my husband and I met at school in Utah and when we first met, we went on bike ride dates practically every night and continued to restore and ride vintage cruisers throughout our courtship. Two years later, we decided it had to be carried throughout our wedding! We got engaged in July and were married October 25 (of the same year)! In three months, with lot’s of help from my mother (my parents live in Texas), I managed to plan the wedding of my dreams. Bicycles included.

So much more to come!

Salt Lake City Mariachis From Kate Benson Photography

We asked Kate Benson, a sensational Little Black Book photographer based in Utah if we could feature Britney and Michael’s wedding way back when we did a feature on wedding gowns. We noticed that many of her wedding photos were with Mormon couples {the Salt Lake City Temple in the background} and that the brides had gorgeous gowns with sleeves. We even got a few comments on how refreshing it was to see this ‘trend’. Seems to be that it’s not so much a trend, as probably, a temple requirement. (We’d be happy to know more from any of our readers!)  Take a look back {here} if you missed that feature.

Now, a bit from Kate … “Mike and Britney were so lovely on their wedding day despite having their hands nearly freeze off in the wind, rain and snow. You could never tell from these pics how cold it actually was… such troopers. Thanks guys, for doing that “just one more” thing every time I asked!”

Britney & Mike’s wedding was March 15, 2008 at the Salt Lake City Temple with the reception following at the Wells Fargo Building.

More from Kate … “Wow what a wedding! I love, love, love seeing how creative brides can get in picking out all their wedding goodies.  Britney was brilliant in her choosings, right down to the food that was catered. Her wedding was bright, colorful, and festive… just what is needed in the muddiness of March. My FAVORITE thing she chose was a Mariachi band. Seriously? I loved these guys! They were AMAZING and sooooo incredibly professional (smiles on their faces the whole time!).”

Aren’t the ribbons just great! Very simple touches can do so much to coordinate the whole affair!
