Granite Ranch Wedding from Lisa Woods Photography + CLINK + Sprout

Weddings are the best. We think it’s fabulous when two people in love combine their tastes into one beautiful affair. And the fact that you get to wear some of the most fabulous clothing of your life is just icing on the cake. So when a wedding coordinated by CLINK, flora’d by Sprout and captured by Lisa Woods Photography that was so obviously adorable landed in my lap I filled a gallery with all the images and put it on the calendar as quickly as possible. You will LOVE it.

We realized very quickly that the most important thing to us was to have our friends and family be a part of our day. With this focus we tried to make the whole day feel like us as much as possible. We are mountain bikers, campers, climbers and travelers so we wanted a natural, simple, outdoor wedding. From there we just let our ideas take over and asked friends and family to help out to make them become a reality. One of Tim’s groomsman drew the bicycle table place cards, my mom collected vintage milk glass and we borrowed the lanterns from a friend. Also, since Tim’s sister owns Granite Ranch, not only was it was the perfect backdrop for the whole day, but it’s a place full of memories that we’ve shared with his family. In the end that’s what makes the day so special, having the people you love contribute and be a part of the whole experience!

The most fun I had planning our wedding was when Tim got involved and put in his own ideas. Our friends often refer to us as “fire and water” because we balance each other so well. I chose mustard and navy for our colors, but he added in the purple accents because it’s his favorite color. He chose Salt Lick because it’s his favorite BBQ in Austin and I figured it fit well with the ranch theme. I found vintage windows for our ceremony backdrop and Tim placed them perfectly in the oak grove. I’ve never felt our partnership more than during that time.

Austin Wedding at Barr Mansion by Mike Reed Photo

When the venue is Barr Mansion and the photographer is Mike Reed Photo it’s a given that we’re in for a very special treat. Well, this wedding definitely raised the bar to an entirely new level. Nothing tugs at my heart more than a southern wedding with all the fixin’s – and this fête is a fine example. You’ve got your gorgeous couple, a classic mansion with Victorian flair and exquisite floral arrangements by Petal Pushers…what more could you ask for? Lucky for us, there is more in the full gallery, so click here to enjoy!

From the bride…After meeting in undergrad and dating more than 6 years of dating Chris proposed and we began planning our special day. Our wedding was everything we hoped it would be – a cool evening in Austin, Texas shared with 300 of our family and friends. I always envisioned a laidback, whimsical, country-chic and most of all TEXAS wedding filled with touches that made the wedding our own. We love beer – Chris is actually a cicerone – so we knew we would serve craft beer from Black Star Co-op, a local brewpub where Chris works.

I’ve always envisioned myself walking down the aisle with a wreath of flowers on my head. I guess that is my inner flower child shining through. I practically live in cowboy boots even though I am the furthest thing from someone who grew up on a farm or in the country so I knew from the moment I started looking for a dress that I was going to wear my cowboy boots on my wedding day. After trying on a hundred or so dresses I finally found my dress and knew it was exactly what I envisioned.

I loved planning the wedding and doing arts and crafts to add touches that would personalize the ceremony and reception. We wanted guests to walk in and say this looks like Chris and Selena. We carry koozies everywhere we go so it was easy to decide on koozies as our favor that could also be used during the reception. I also made DIY touches for the wedding from the wooden directional signage to the wrapped tree with our pictures to the here comes the bride banner.

Our ceremony was definitely a reflection of our taste. Instead of a typical verse or poem, one of our close friends read the lyrics to Adam Sandler’s “I want to grow old with you.” After the ceremony we exited to the Beatles “All You Need is Love,” played by a classical guitarist. We love music and spent time carefully planning songs for the entire day from the ceremony to the cocktail hour and reception. We danced our first dance to Ripple by Grateful Dead – my favorite song of all time.

Dallas Arboretum & Botanical Garden Wedding by Apryl Ann Photography

It’s pretty difficult to make the Dallas Arboretum & Botanical Garden even more beautiful than it already is, but somehow this wedding by Apryl Ann Photography managed to do it. Incorporating peacocks into the floral displays was a brilliant move by Blooming Accents and the couple hit a home run with carrying out their theme to the cake by Delicious Cakes. Apparently not everything in Texas is just bigger, it’s more beautiful too! Check out the full gallery here.

From the bride…Matt and I fell in love in Dallas. We enjoy the city and knew it was the ideal place to start our married lives together. Perfect Texas days are hard to come by but that’s what Matt and I dreamed of for our wedding. Though few and far between, there are some evenings in Dallas where you wouldn’t dream of being anywhere but outdoors under the stars. That’s exactly what we pictured when planning our big day. We were sold on the Dallas Arboretum and Botanical Garden as a venue when we stood on the patio overlooking the lake with a view of the Downtown skyline. We love both the outdoors and the city so the Arboretum seemed like the best compromise. Strategically choosing the month of October and the grace of God gave us the most beautiful evening we can ever imagine to have.

The aesthetic of the evening was a mix of nature and glamour. The colors were chosen from a peacock feather because the jewel tones make a great Fall color palette and are complimentary to both male and female. The feathers adorned all aspects of the day, including the bride, bridesmaids, groomsmen, ceremony and reception.

The ceremony was in a colorful, open garden with white chairs and a white picket fence grounding the feel of a wedding. The music from a harp welcomed guests as they took their seats. Peacock feathers could be seen on the aisle, in the floral arrangements and as guests transitioned into cocktail hour and then the reception.

From the Bride… Robert proposed at the Museum of Modern Art in Ft. Worth, Texas. He was as much involved in the planning process as I was — I wanted it to be our day, not just my day! The wedding took place at my uncle’s (Dallas architect Bill Hidell) ultra modern house off the lake. From there, everything just fell into place. Robert and I knew that we wanted to incorporate our love of modern art — my childhood favorite artist, Piet Mondrian influenced most of it, but we also wanted it to feel natural, organic, beautiful and romantic all at the same time. We found that having simple decorations let the true beauty of the house, rolling hills of the backyard, newly budding flowers and calm water really show! We kept the wedding color palette neutral with gray, cream and ivory with small accents of orange. My uncle was such a great sport — at my request, he designed and built the canopy of lights over the dance floor and put on an absolutely amazing fireworks show! Robert and I were inspired by a wall we saw while visiting the Dallas Museum of Art; instead of having your typical guest book, we painted graphic triangles of oranges and neutrals. I still love reading all the notes our guests wrote! We also cut and painted three signs that helped guide guests to the house, all inspired once again by modern artists. We just wanted the day to reflect us — I absolutely loved our ceremony performed by Reverend Diane Robertson. It brought happy tears to everyone’s eyes! It was just a special, magical night that we will never forget!

From the Bride… When Robert and I first started planning, we knew we wanted a small family wedding. Small in my family is not small by the typical standards, but we just knew that we wanted a more intimate affair than what our town was typically used to. We began looking at venues in Austin and Houston and nothing seemed right. Most of our family lives in Brenham and Bellville, so we figured we should probably stay in the area and we decided on the Giddings Stone Mansion. Tt was small and intimate but large enough for our “small” family wedding — the guest list was about 150, and that’s only close family and a small number of friends! Originally we were going to have two venues, where the wedding and dinner would be at the Giddings Stone Mansion then we’d move to a family barn that had recently been renovated for a big dance. As weddings go, just before wedding invitations were sent out, we decided to scale it back to one venue to relieve some of the stress. Yes, we had to print all new invitations the week the invitations were to go out!

The theme of our wedding was English winter garden. I wanted the whole Pride and Prejudice feel with a bit more glamour. I stuck to white, cream, black and gray as a palette with a mix of soft pinks and blues. The maid of honor wore cream, while the other two bridesmaids wore the same dress from BHLDN in black. The guys wore a gray suit with white shirts and a checkered ties. The two flower girls wore ivory tutus, while the ring bearer wore a black velvet suit. I wore a Alvina Valenta gown. My dad gave me away to the man of my dreams and a long-time family friend, an Episcopal priest, did the ceremony. The wedding was held outside on the front steps of the mansion. We had a cocktail reception immediately following and then dinner and and dancing to end the night. While the flow of things didn’t go according to plan, it all worked out in the end. We were thinking that the weather would be a little more moderate than it was since last year at the time it was 70 degrees and sunny. It is Texas after all. Was it this year? Of course not! It was 50 degrees, overcast and windy. Either way, it was a night to be remembered for its mishaps and joys because we were surrounded in love.

The flowers looked like they had just come out of the garden and were mixed with herbs such as rosemary to give it a more natural feel. We collected huge wine barrels for cocktail tables, old lanterns, jars and a mix of vintage birdcages to complete the look. As favors, we passed out heart-shaped clay ornaments made by my mom’s best friend, who is also an art teacher. I didn’t want the wedding to feel Christmas-themed at all, but this was the one thing I felt confidently about. I liked the idea that the favor was truly a reminder of our day and that people could place them on their tree for years to come and be reminded how much we loved them and how happy we were to share our day together. We had a beautiful dessert bar that had everything from cookies to cake pops and whoopie pies that guests munched on all night. Lastly, our band was one-of-a-kind and brought the house down! South Texas Jazz band provided the music for the whole day. They played the ceremony music, the cocktail hour and the dance, adding a few instruments each time to mix it up and ending with a full band. We wanted music that people could really dance to — Frank Sinatra, Johnny Cash and more, from a mix of eras and that’s what they provided for the whole night. It was perfect. We had wonderful people surrounding us and making it all happen through the entire process, and any bride planning her own wedding knows that it wouldn’t have been pulled off without the endless hours of help and patience from everyone involved!

From Hidden Key DesignsSarah and Bryan were married April 14, 2012, at half past four in the afternoon at Riven Rock Ranch in Comfort, Texas. The bride’s dress was Watters made out of lace and silk chiffon, and her ver veil  was floor length and the lace matched the lace on her dress. The bride’s bouquet was a vintage-inspired floral arrangement that was tied together with lace from her mother’s wedding gown, and on it, hung pictures of her grandparents and cousin who had passed away. The groomsmen wore khaki slacks with white shirts monogrammed at the cuff. Their accessories included vintage suspenders and different handmade vintage bow ties. Bryan also wore his grandfather’s Marine Corps pin in memory of him. The ceremony took place under a gazebo adorned in beautiful blush, cream, ivory and peach flowers, and the aisle chairs were adorned with peach and ivory roses in mason jars tied with a peach ribbon. The reception took place at five o’clock in the evening at the Terrace Grill at Riven Rock Ranch. The menu included appetizers, crab cakes, tamales and a Tuscan artisan station with breads, crackers, bruschetta, venison sausage, olives, dip and fresh fruit. After dinner, the bride and groom were led into the reception hall by trumpets and had their first dance as husband and wife to “Rose of My Heart” by Thryd Time Out. The reception décor was all vintage-inspired, with textured lines and chair covers. There were two vintage seating areas close to the dance floor. The bride’s cake was a stunning ivory, seven-tiered “chandelier” cake that was gravity defying. After dancing and singing the night away, Sarah and Bryan were led out by trumpets with all their guests lined up with ribbons and flower petals and left in a limo to begin their life and husband and wife.

From Archetype Studio Inc.Two weeks ago, we were approached by a bride wishing to book one of our Bridal to Boudoir J’adore shoots. She had just found us and was hoping we could work her in right away since her wedding date was in just a few weeks. With the idea of presenting a book of images shot in the same penthouse suite that they booked for their wedding night, who could resist! We streamlined our usual eight-week planning process and booked the beautiful London suite in Hotel ICON and managed to secure the wardrobe, even the blue lace teddy from a little town just outside of … London, England (there’s a theme here). We pulled an inspiration board based on vintage Vanity Fair images and enlisted the help of a custom book binding company to hand walk the order through.  Can’t you just imagine the groom’s face when she presents him her gift: a collection of images photographed just for him, documenting the beautiful room they are spending their first night as husband and wife together and a celebration of the beautiful girl he just married!

From Shannon Cunningham PhotographyMerrill and Blayne are the type of couple who have big laughs, a quick smile and a love of fun. It made perfect sense that they planned their wedding with that same carefree spirit. The Ladybird Johnson Wildflower Center was decorated in a natural style by Verbena Flora so as not to compete with the already gorgeous venue. Neutral colors accented with oranges and green looked great against the formal navy bridesmaids’ dresses and dark tuxedos. The couple incorporated personal touches such as a “Wurstfest” groom’s cake to celebrate a festival Blayne has attended since childhood, and guests were asked to sign a rustic wooden bench that the couple now keeps in their home.

From the Bride… I was never the girl who thought about her wedding, much less planned anything out more than a month in advance. Unless you’re talking about going to see Joshua in Colorado when we were still long-distance dating — that I loved and had to plan. But I do have very distinct taste, so my wedding followed. I didn’t let my wedding rule me over, I just enjoyed the process and went with it. I had no idea what the wedding process looked like, so, I called my friends who love everything about weddings. I wanted a beautiful wedding, but I wanted to stay within a reasonable budget too. So the process began…

River Rock Ranch is more than I could have hoped for in a venue. It had immediate bridal and groom cottages for us to stay in and get ready. It’s like a blend between Texas Rustic and New Mexico Rustic. Rebecca of A Grand Occasion was really the glue to everything I wanted my wedding to look like. She is so extremely creative and talented. She came up with so many concepts, such as the mason jar, wagon wheel chandelier that hung over my cake, the sign-in table supported by an antique door and wood chips for our guests to sign at the sign in table. I wanted many of the pieces that I found for my wedding to go into my home and secondly, I wanted to be a part of the planning process, mainly to form as many memories as possible. As much time as we spend planning our big days, we should enjoy them and make them personal and fun, not stressful.

Josh loves cigars, so that’s why we had a cigar roller. We also went around to a few cigar shops and eBay and ordered cigar boxes. They became part of our centerpieces here and there around the wedding. I wore some sassy turquoise velvet heels that I found on a shopping whim at Marshalls. I always hated the way a veil looked on me until one day, I tried on my mom’s and it matched my dress exactly. I had no plans to do that, it just worked. It was very special to me. My grandma, Betty Lou, passed away from cancer when I was only four years old. I wore a stunning diamond ring that she had given my mom, that my mom gave to me. It was my way of having her there on the day.

Austin Wedding from SMS Photography + Bouquets of Austin + Barbara’s Brides

I am calling myself the number one fan of classic soirees with sweet little somethings today. This wedding, coordinated by Barbara’s Brides, being number one of the favorites list. The design was deeply rooted in gorgeous tradition, starting with the flowers from Bouquets of Austin right onto the ivory and blush color palette. Then, enter my favorite part, the next layer. The striped socks on the groom. The individual looks twobirds Bridesmaids created for the ‘maids. The unexpected charm in every shot from SMS Photography. It’s perfectly layered, and we’ve got a full gallery to prove it!

Click here to see the ENTIRE soiree in the gallery!

Jon and I both wanted our day to be romantic, classic, and intimate and the day turned out exactly how we envisioned and most of all it was about family, friendship and the celebration of young love. After setting a date for our spring wedding, the color choices were obvious: ivory and blush. Every one of our vendors’ amazing work and care made for a seamless experience, and the planning process flowed easily once we had decided on our ceremony and reception venue. We were lucky enough to have the lovely Stacy with SMS photography capture the story of our day so perfectly. She is one of those photographers that just gets it and her truly stunning work reminds you that weddings are really about two people’s beginning/end of a fairytale.

All of my favorite aspects of the wedding were the small details thanks to ideas and inspirations from Style Me Pretty and our wonderful vendors, especially Becky with Bouquets of Austin that made it come to life. One of the most fun parts of planning our wedding was working together with Lehua Chong, the talented designer behind all the printed goods for our wedding, who hand letter pressed every single one of our whimsical invites. I was told that invitation sets the tone of the wedding and I took that very seriously. The Save-The-Date was actually an idea from the groom. We got engaged at a beautiful historic hotel in a small town, Milford, Pennsylvania. The save the date was meant to be the letter to our friends and family on the stationery of the hotel where we got engaged. Another favorite was customizing the menu. Because Jon and I were completely spoiled by the wealth of food living in NYC, and we wanted to make sure we created a menu that reflected our favorite foods from different restaurants around the city.

Sharing the day with our nearest and dearest brought us so much joy. From our incredibly emotional ceremony to vivid memories of everyone dancing to the last song “Purple Rain”, it was an evening filled with overwhelming sense of happiness and gratitude to our friends, family and everyone else who helped make an absolutely perfect day.

From the Bride… My husband and I met in college at a typical sorority/fraternity mixer. We were really good friends for about a year and then one day, we started falling for each other. The rest is history, and we are now married! Our wedding took place in Austin, Texas, on November 5th, 2011. It was more than just a wedding to us, it was about what it meant: we were finally becoming one. I think that is why the wedding felt so intimate and romantic. It fit me and my husband’s style perfectly. We got married in the church that I grew up in, so it was a meaningful place to start our marriage. From the flowers to the cakes, all the little details made our the whole evening perfect. I used my mom’s veil that she wore when she married my dad 30 years ago, and we added some lace that matched my dress. Our ringer bearer pillows were made out of flowers, so my two cute nephews looked adorable with them. My cake was my favorite part of the wedding! My florist got a clear glass cake stand and put tons of green hydrangea underneath it with tons of candles around the edge. My florist even put up lights, lanterns and candles in the front garden by the entrance of the reception. We ended our perfect evening by leaving in a romantic 1960’s Rolls Royce. There couldn’t have been a better way than our wedding to celebrate the beginning of our new life together.

Dripping Springs Wedding at Vista West Ranch by She-N-He Photography and Design

We see trends come and go here on SMP, but one thing that never seems to run its course is unique, personal style. That always seems to make us stop in our tracks – and this Bride and her new Mister have personal style for miles. In our eyes, it’s doesn’t get better than that. It gives us so many things to gush about –  a sleeve change in place of a dress change, a pup that’s front and center, a couple with such a fabulous love story – those are just a few details of this fete we are favoriting. But with image after image of stylish inspiration from She-N-He Photography and Design in the full gallery it will be hard not to favorite them all!

From the Bride… We met at a funeral in California. Well, we had seen each other before here and there, but we had our first real conversation at a funeral. We started dating right away, and I couldn’t get enough of him! A month later, I broke the news that I was moving to Boston to attend grad school. Surprisingly, he wanted to come along! It was so exciting! He quit his job, packed his bags and hopped in my car. We hardly knew each other when we were driving cross country! It was the wildest thing ever — moving far away with a stranger. We both had an adventurous, devil-may-care attitude about dating. That was eight years ago, and now we’re mister and missus.

My dress … I tried on dresses for six long months. I knew it would be tough because I wanted to add some custom touches to whatever dress I bought to make it more “me” — more dramatic! I finally found it — it’s an Enzoani — on Black Friday at Blush Bridal. The dress fit me pretty well, and more importantly, it lent itself well to the custom sleeves I was dreaming up in my head. I bought it right on the spot, and met with my seamstress,  Deborah Birch, to tell her all about the sleeves I envisioned. I sketched for her some drapey, double-drop sleeves, and she brought it to life! Plus, she made an extra set of sleeves — fabulous cuffs — that I could change into for our dance. Partying on the dance floor was definitely a must, and my second pair of sleeves allowed me to swing my arms like a wild woman all night. Some brides have a dress change for the reception, but I had a sleeve change! That was definitely my favorite part of the dress.

From the Bride… When Aaron and I started to plan our wedding, we looked at an endless amount of venues online. We debated on whether to do a facility rental and DIY everything or use a hotel. We couldn’t be happier with our choice to have everything at the Four Seasons. I had no idea how much I would appreciate the service and amenities until the day of, when time is flying by and you don’t have time to do everything yourself. The resort was a great choice as it was local yet a little get-away for our guests. All along, we wanted everyone to enjoy their night. With the perfect spring weather, amazing food and an awesome band, we are pretty sure our wish was granted. We were beaming and overjoyed. Thanks to all of our wonderful vendors, including Sarah Kate, who did such a beautiful job capturing the happiness on our special day.

After over eight months of planning, I feel like I could write a book on what to do as well as things not to do!  I had seen how florals get thrown away at the end of receptions. When you’re paying for them, it is really hard to think about them going to waste so quickly. We picked up some wine crates from local liquor stores (free!) and had a family friend cut them into 8×8-inch boxes. The florist then used these for some of the centerpieces, which went home with friends at the end of the night. I also bought some small mercury glass votives for the cocktail table arrangements so the bridesmaids could take one with them (although I forgot to tell them!).  A big thanks to the florist, Stems, for working with all my requests and creating such beautiful designs! I was able to save on invitations and programs, as my sister is an art director and designed everything herself — a HUGE help and a special gift! Wearing my mother’s veil was another special part of the day for me. One mistake was waiting until the week before the wedding to do the tasks that seem small, but end up taking a long time. Without a wedding planner, I had no idea how busy I would be contacting vendors and getting every last detail figured out. Luckily my mom’s friends came over to help us make the pom-pom balls, tie ribbons, and stuff eco-fetti envelopes!

While I loved every bit of planning the big event, I’m so thankful for the sweetest man I now get to call my husband. The best gift! As we knew the day might be chaotic and stressful, Aaron and I said that we would make each other our focus for the day and cherish every moment. The memories from our ceremony are perfect — it was filled with love, happiness and the Lord’s blessings. We are so thankful to have been surrounded by our family and friends on such a fun night.

From CLINKTravis and Meg are all about FUN. They are the consummate hosts. Their #1 goal was ensuring their guests were extremely well taken care of. They wanted to throw an epic New Year’s Eve wedding celebration that would be an amazing memory for all of their loved ones. They chose Austin to get hitched because it is the city where they met and hope to one day return. The W Austin Hotel was the perfect venue to host their modern tastes, flair for fabulosness and love of libations! Temps were a bit chilly, so Meg and Travis decided to tie the knot indoors in the ballroom that would later host their reception (after a stealthy flip by amazing vendors). Ghost chairs made the room look spacious, and once the room was filled with guests, it became inviting and warm. Custom window arches were created to frame the space and give a modern church feel to the ceremony. The entire roomed glowed with candlelight. Friends were a big part of the ceremony. A friend played acoustic guitar and sang “I’ll Stop the World and Melt with You.” The entire crowd sang along and everyone was bawling. Talk about an everlasting memory and experience! You can’t pay for the emotions that were expressed. Simply poignant and perfect!

The outdoor balcony was covered in a chandelier-lit, heated tent. A modern damask linen in a beautiful opal shade covered the tables, and the same damask print was projected on the ground to give subtle lighting to the festive cocktail hour. Hors d’oeuvres stations were set up with cocktail pairings – a detail that all the guests enjoyed. It was time for dinner, and the ballroom doors opened and revealed a modern feast for the eyes. Stone-colored satin topped all the tables, ghost chairs complemented the ghost candelabras on the table, and the entire room glowed in a champagne blush tone. Rich champagne and blush floral centerpieces were lush and romantic. The entire look was stunning! Tables were numbered in Italian, a nod to Meg’s Italian heritage. And the menus also had an Italian flair: a ice breaker for all the guests. Guests enjoyed an amazing plated dinner with their choice of entrees. The mouth-watering selections were roast tenderloin of beef in a whiskey shallot reduction accompanied by smoked celery root puree and braised winter greens, poached lobster atop seared striped bass accompanied by white bean and mushroom ragout or winter vegetable risotto with squash, braised greens, cannellini beans and apple oregano jus. All were deliciously divine!

After dinner, the party started! Meg and Travis chose a killer DJ/band combination that literally kept the dance floor packed the entire evening. Then it was time for the countdown — which was displayed on impressive LED panels that backlit the band! 3, 2, 1 … HAPPY NEW YEAR! Cue the confetti cannons — BOOM! The entire sleek white dance floor was covered in confetti! The dancing continued and the DJ played killer mash-ups of “’90s spring break classics” selected by Meg and Travis. Shots were passed, Meg had a killer dress change, and both Meg and Travis crowd surfed — now that’s a party!

Meg and Travis, we cannot stop talking about your wedding and you. We loved your wedding and love you both to pieces. We loved working with you every step of the way. Your guests told us continuously throughout the night what amazing people you two are and how lucky they feel to be friends with you. You are amazing and unforgettable. Australia is nice, but please move back to Austin soon! Congratulations again!

From Creative ConsultantsIt was a true blend of national cultures on Saturday May 28, 2011. The wedding was held at Central Christian Church. After the ceremony, guests were transported by trolley to The Historic Driskill Hotel for the reception. The bride and groom were transported in a vintage Rolls Royce. The cocktail hour began with music from The Lucky Strikes, followed by an incredible seated dinner in the mezzanine. Guests moved to the Texas Ballroom for the cutting of the cake, and of course, the groom’s cake came from England! The Texas Ballroom was transformed into a lounge and dance floor with music by The Motts. There was a rose petal send-off and a horse and carriage ride for the bride and groom. The groom wore his top hat and tails, and the bride wore a gown from a designer in London. Matchbooks, hot sauce, a candy bar and slap bracelets were all wedding favors. The couple now resides in London, England.

From Shannon Cunningham PhotographyCourtney and Tim have the kind of crazy-head-over-heels love that everyone wants. From the moment I met them, I knew that not only would their wedding be beautiful, but it would also be meaningful and full of love. They picked an eclectic mix of decor, featuring muted tones and quirky, vintage styling. Their ceremony and reception was at the always charming Vista West Ranch. Highlights of the day included their exchanging of meaningful notes and gifts, the lovely ceremony and the point in the reception when Courtney revealed she’d found an old Buck Owens guitar as a present for Tim. Buck Owens’ music played a big part in their relationship and it was a super sweet moment. They are two of the most lovely clients I have ever worked with, and I wish them nothing but the best!

And before we send you off into the weekend, here’s this adorable duo’s fabulous wedding film by Weiss Eubanks Films

[iframe http://player.vimeo.com/video/42800414?title=0&byline=0&portrait=0&color=9db05f 600 338]

From the Bride… Brian and I knew instantly that we wanted to get married in the beautiful Texas Hill Country, and at the same time, we wanted to bring a sense of elegance to the countryside. We found our venue Kendall Plantation before they even started building it, but we knew it was exactly what we were looking for. Southern elegance mixed with Texas Hill Country charm — what could be better? We chose navy and pink as our color scheme because, naturally, I love pink, and navy is such a classic color. I just loved the combo especially the way pink can just pop next to the navy (hence the hot pink bridesmaid shoes!). Shopping for my dress was easy. I knew within a week of getting engaged it was the one — when you know you know! I loved the way it was very form fitting and simple with just some beading on the belt and on the side where it gathers.

After a year and a half of planning, there was still lots of stress all the way to the very end, but there were also many great friendships formed and tons of memories made in the process. Our wedding to us was — charming, upbeat and unforgettable. It was everything we could have imagined it would be and more. One of the most meaningful things to me at the wedding was getting to walk down the aisle with my dad, who nearly lost his life this last year. He spent five months trying to learn how to walk again. Getting down those steps was his biggest goal and well accomplished! Another really meaningful thing to us was getting married by our pastor, who also married my parents many years ago.

I loved that there was such a large abundance of flowers everywhere, from the ceremony outside to the tabletops of the reception inside. My bouquet was everything I had dreamed about since I was a little girl — a tight collection of white roses and peonies (my favorite). Our guests were greeted after the ceremony with our signature cocktail drink of strawberry margaritas  — which Brian made himself the day before — served in mason jars with navy and pink striped straws. My maids of honor and bridesmaids surprised us with a hilarious Ice Ice Baby rap/dance instead of the traditional speech, which totally caught me off guard but was beyond hilarious and perfectly matched my personality. The band then kicked off the night with a bunch of oldies dance music, and the photo booth with its hilarious props was a continuous hit all night! My favorite memory of the evening was looking into my future husband’s eyes during the ceremony and not being nervous at all about taking that step but just getting lost in his stare and thinking about how happy we are.

From the Bride… We are blessed with lots of family and friends and always knew we wanted to be able to invite everyone we wanted to our wedding. The two most important things to us were that everyone could be there and that it was a ton of fun. We were also paying for most of it ourselves, so we tried our best to keep expenses down so we could afford to have a lot of people. By going out of Austin a little way, we were able to find a large venue that was a reasonable price. We hired Loot Vintage Rentals to take care of most of the crafting and decorating, and they did a FABULOUS job! We were going for a pretty, soft, vintage-chic look and they pulled it off wonderfully. Just about everything else was DIY. I was overwhelmed by how much my friends and family pitched in to help with everything, from my sister doing all the beautiful flowers, to my cousin making the cheesecakes for our groom’s cake, my mom making ribbon wands, Clay’s mom and sister-in-law making the programs and kids books, a friend creating welcome packets for all the hotel guests, and a friend of the groom tying little pink ribbons around the invitations. My mom, sister, friends and family did SO MUCH! I could go on and on and can’t thank them enough.

Clay proposed to me in Italy, so we decided to have a build-your-own pasta bar and a coffee bar to tie in our engagement. The food (from Baxter’s on Main) was delicious, and the coffee bar was a big hit. In addition to hot coffee, we had a frozen coffee drink with whipped cream, chocolate, and my Grandpa’s famous homemade Kahlua. Everyone had a great time dancing and playing in the photo booth. We were treated to a couple songs sung by Clay’s brother and sister-in-law and on-stage dancing by various people. We continued two traditions that were started at my sister’s wedding: the hat dance and the limbo! Both were so much fun … once again. After the reception was over, we continued the fun at a late-night pizza party in the hotel lobby. We had wonderful day-of coordinators, Cheryl and Shea from Yellow Umbrella Events, who we could not have made it without. And as you can tell, our photographer, Nadine, did a phenomenal job capturing the events and details of the day beautifully. This wedding was truly a group effort and the second best thing that came out of this whole process (the best is marrying Clay, of course) was realizing just how amazing our family and friends are. I mean A-MAZING.

Austin Wedding at the W Hotel by Ashley Garmon Photographers + Caplan Miller Events

What’s better than a sweet love story’s personal touches woven seamlessly into a sleek modern wedding ceremony? Pretty much nothing, but sequined table linens and rainbow confetti come close. This wedding at the W Austin by Caplan Miller Events has all of the above, all ending in a dessert room. Ashley Garmon Photographers were there to snap up all of the literally and figuratively sweet moments and we have them all here for you in the full gallery!

From Caplan Miller EventsLindsay and Jason met while getting their undergraduate degree at Emory University in Atlanta while he was a senior and she was a freshman. Fast forward several years and a few cities later to their modern and sparkly wedding in Lindsay’s home town of Austin,Texas. This wedding was such a joy to be a part of because it was completely focused on the love of their family and friends.

The ceremony and reception were held at the W hotel in downtown Austin. The couple exchanged vows under a clear, lucite chuppah on the terrace of the W at sundown. When Jason left Emory for medical school, he and Lindsay spoke about their future while sitting under a beautiful oak tree. It was there that they made a commitment to each other to stay together no matter where the future took them. Jason later drew a picture of that very tree and sent it to Lindsay as a reminder of their decision.

We converted the drawing into the family tree that was displayed at the top of the chuppah. So all of these years later, they got married under that tree! The ballroom was designed in a monochromatic color scheme of gray and white with pops of sherbet-colored centerpieces. Lindsay is vibrant and lights up a room, so we enhanced our look with lots of sparkle to reflect our bride’s super-cute personality. Sequin draping and cocktail table linens were paired with gray overlays on our dinner tables. Guests were ushered into the ballroom through rows of servers holding mini champagne bottles with steel straws. Our seated dinner featured a deconstructed Caesar salad paired with a lasagna cupcake, a duo entree or beef tenderloin and halibut and the highlight of the night was the pink, orange, and green-themed dessert room. We played “Charlie and the Chocolate Factory” in this room all night!
