From the Bride-to-Be… Will and I were tossing around some ideas for a engagement shoot one day, and Will was actually the one that came up with the idea to set up a fake house in the woods. I thought it had a lot of potential, so we started running with it from there. Some of the props were actually decorations from my house at school, so it really represents my taste. We made a day of finding the rest of the items at thrift and antique shops and had a lot of fun together. The whole set is likely what our future home will look like (minus the walls being trees part), since we both love fun, vintage style. Caryn and Bryan are so talented, and we had a blast shooting with them!

Houston Wedding from Yellow Skinny Photos

You know the saying, “Peonies are a girls best friend.” Okay, so maybe that’s not exactly how it goes, but after taking a peak at this beauty by Yellow Skinny Photos, I’m pretty positive you’ll agree with me. Between The Stone Chapel at Lanier Theological Library, the fantastic florals by SCF Events and the beautiful bridal party, I don’t know which will spark your senses the most! Take a peak at the full gallery for more!

From The Bride… The Stone Chapel was a dream-come-true way to start our forever love story. I love history, and the chapel is a replica of a Turkish chapel built during the Byzantine era — right in the middle of the Texas suburbs near my parents’ home. Every part of our wedding day was like all the bridal dreams of my childhood coming to life. Not only was I marrying the man of my dreams, but every detail came together beautifully. Beautiful venues, perfect weather, antique chic details, lush coral and peach florals and a gray and navy wedding party. My bridesmaids and I spent the morning getting ready in a stone cottage adjacent to the chapel that is like something pulled right out of a Jane Austen novel. Jeremy and I opted not to see each other before the ceremony, but we met on either side of a door to pray and exchange letters. I’m so glad we left the reveal for the walk down the aisle, but the sweet time to talk beforehand was one of my favorite parts of the day.

The ceremony could not have gone more smoothly. It was officiated by our Nashville pastor, Mike Harder. It meant a lot to have someone who knew us both well performing the ceremony. Both of our parents handled the day with grace and love. We felt so blessed to be surrounded by people that truly support us and have walked with us through our relationship. The eight bridesmaids wore four different styles of navy dresses; each dress was worn by two girls. I hand-picked them to fit the girls’ styles and personalities. I loved the way that the coral peonies and white hydrangeas popped against the navy backdrop. The peony was our theme flower; even our stationery featured a hand painted coral peony created by my friend and designer Kate Allen. My mom and I worked hard to create an environment that combined vintage chic, antique charm and classic elegance. Each of the 22 centerpieces at the reception was custom-created with an antique statement piece that my mom and I picked out, a frame holding one of my favorite hymns and the table number, a gorgeous floral display by SCF Events and an antique doily. We served a simple southern meal along with an array of flavored teas and lemonades. My grandmothers each baked cakes and pies to make a delicious dessert display in addition to the traditional bride’s and groom’s cakes. We are blessed to have a history of long marriages in both of our families. We created a legacy table that featured photos of our grandparents and parents and highlighted the legacy of long-lasting love that they have given us.

We are both musicians living in Nashville, so we knew we wanted to incorporate our love of music somehow into the day. We had a jazz band playing during dinner and a DJ for the dancing portion of the night. Our wedding favor was a custom-made CD of love song covers that we recorded, featuring Jeremy and me on all of the instrumentation and vocals. Rather than a traditional guest book, we had each guest leave their best marriage advice on a postcard that matched our theme and stationery, as well as sign their name next to their favorite scripture verse in an antique Bible. Everything was picture perfect, but the love of people around us made all the beautiful details seem insignificant. We are so thankful for amazing friends and family and great vendors who made our wedding the perfect start to a lifetime of memories!

From the Bride… Logan and I met as camp counselors during our sophomore year at Texas A&M University. As soon as we met, we became inseparable friends. Not until months later did we start dating; I was apprehensive about starting a relationship with one of my best friends, but Logan always had so much faith in us. He promised me, “No one will ever love you like I’ll love you, and no one will ever treat you like I’ll treat you.” Our university and its traditions mean so much to us, so eight months after we started dating, Logan proposed on campus surrounded by dozens of our family and friends with the same promise he made when we started dating. In addition to the traditions and customs of every Aggie, Logan’s family has some charming and unique wedding traditions of their own that span three generations. Most notably, proposing with a teapot! His grandfather thought of proposing with the ring in the teapot; all of his sons did it, and so far, all of the grandsons have done it. Every man gets their own teapot, but Logan is the first that went out and scrounged a flea market for his own, rather than his mother acquiring one for him.

More than anything, we wanted our wedding to be a fun, family get-together that really embodied who we are. I remembered attending church picnics as a child that were ripe with tradition, history, family, home-cooked food, music and dancing (not to mention Texas heat), and I knew that that is exactly how I wanted my wedding to feel. 7F Lodge was the perfect venue for both the ceremony and reception. We loved the historic chapel, and the pavilion felt just like an old Texas dance hall. Second to our love for each other, we wanted to share our love for Texas A&M with our guests. From the directions sign pointing out significant locations (his home, her home, our new home together, Texas A&M and our honeymoon location) to the groom’s cake, our Aggie rings, bridal party and details, there’s a consistent love for and devotion to our university. One of our favorite moments on our wedding day is when all the Aggies joined in the middle of the dance floor to sing our school’s “War Hymn.”

It was important that Logan’s family, from south Louisiana, and my family, from south Texas, both felt represented at our wedding. Thus, every aspect of our wedding was grounded in meaning and tradition to best represent our Southern heritage and who we are as a couple. The jewelry I wore is worn by every bride in Logan’s family on her wedding day, and Logan’s grandmother made her famous pecan pralines for favors; they were a huge hit with our guests! Our cake topper was used on both my grandparents’ and parents’ wedding cake, and my parents led a traditional grand march to start the dancing. For dinner we had Cajun cuisine and Mexican fajitas (our favorite!). All of the décor was either antiques we had collected from our families or handmade details that our parents, sisters and friends worked tirelessly on; as soon as we got engaged my mom started collecting vintage teapots to sit on each table. Instead of carrying a pillow, my baby brother carried our wedding rings in the teapot Logan proposed with. Ultimately, it was a beautiful melding of two families and two distinct versions of Southern culture.

Austin Wedding at Mercury Hall from Kelly Christine Photo

Mercury Hall always lends a bright, shiny spot of goodness to the pages of SMP. Its vintage white interior and pretty parties are the stuff that wedding dreams are made of; especially when that pretty party is awash with adorable DIY details, a dessert table to satisfy any sweet tooth and images by Kelly Christine Photo. A fine mix and one that does this Austin sweet spot so much justice. See it all right here.

From the Bride… When we first started talking about what we wanted our wedding to look like, we agreed immediately that we wanted to have a fun and laid-back party, and everything just seemed to fall into place. I bought the first dress I tried on, booked the first venue I saw and trusted Etsy vendors and local businesses the whole way through. We never tried to fit into a mold or a theme; we just picked what we liked and went with it. What we came up with was a simple, intimate party with all of our favorite people there, dancing to our favorite music and eating our favorite foods. I was also adamant about having my hands in all parts of the planning process and spent many late nights sewing bunting banners, making dessert plates and designing programs. This made the day feel so special because there was a touch of us in everything. If I can offer one piece of advice to anyone planning a wedding, it is to hire a coordinator if you can. My event planner Amanda was crucial in the planning process, and she took care of all the logistical things and even did things I didn’t think of myself. I can only imagine how stressful it is to corral vendors and act as a coordinator while you’re getting your makeup done and having your picture taken. The bottom line, however, is that this day is a party. Do what YOU want, don’t compromise your vision and absorb everything because it really is over so quickly.

Mercury Hall Wedding from Caroline + Ben Photography

Mercury Hall is just pure magic. Plan and simple. I’ve never seen a wedding come out of that pretty place I didn’t adore. And I am adding this one captured by Caroline + Ben Photography to my very long list. The flowers, the ceremony setting, and the oh-so in love couple are enough to make me want to let out a squeal this morning, so you know the full gallery is simply a must see. And you can see it all right here.

From the Bride…We wanted a mix of both our personalities. A Native Texas introvert meets transplant New York extroverted girl. Seth is very low key and laid back and a big wedding was not something he wanted. He imaged more of a backyard party with some friends hanging out drinking beers. I always dreamed of my wedding just being one big party. Since we both hate being the center of attention, we had a very small ceremony right before the reception with just immediate family. Everything we did was DIY. We spent a lot of time in antique shops, vintage fairs, and on Etsy to find our decor. We made a lot of our decorations, from refinishing our cake table to make it look vintage, to hand making 120 mason jar candles for the favors.

As a surprise for Seth, I arranged to have his favorite musician play at the reception, Slaid Cleaves. Everything about the day was perfect, from the weather to the desserts to the party. There was a dance party inside and a backyard party outside, a perfect mix of both of us.

Dallas Wedding at Hickory Street Annex from Lynn Michelle Photography

Sometimes careers can move you to places all around the world, and for this cute couple that place was Guam. But when the time came to say “I Do,” they returned to home sweet Dallas home to celebrate with family and friends at the Hickory Street Annex. And by “celebrate” I mean hosting an unbelievably gorgeous wedding with beautiful blooms by BLUE LOTUS, amazing pops of happy yellow and tasty sweets by Tart Bakery. From the bride… Chris and I got engaged in May 2011 — two weeks before Chris’ job moved us 8,000 miles away from friends and family to the tiny Pacific island of Guam. At first, we thought it might be best to simply fly our immediate families to the island and have a small, simple wedding on the beach. After all, it is a tropical island with gorgeous beaches and fantastic sunsets… What could be more beautiful? It wasn’t until a few months later, when the homesickness started to kick in, that we began think a wedding back in Texas with all our family and friends was exactly what we needed. And it was.

Chris and I wanted our wedding to be filled with personal touches of the things that mean the most to us. Living on the other side of the world from your friends and family makes you realize what matters most, and it was our goal to let our all of our guests know how much we truly love and appreciate each one of them. The entire day was spent with the people that mean the most to us. It was intimate. It was relaxed. It was home.

From A Guy & A Girl WeddingsTim and Brittany Dowd had their charming outdoor ceremony and reception at The Dallas Arboretum this summer during the Dale Chihuly blown glass exhibit. The bride got her hair and makeup done at the Michael Flores Salon at Neiman Marcus while the groomsmen went to a nearby salon to get their eyebrows waxed and presentable! Brittany’s dress was purchased at the Bridal Boutique in Lewisville, and her shoes were adorned with feather and jewel clips found on Etsy. Some of the groomsmen were proudly wearing Air Force and Navy dress uniforms. The decorations for the reception included candles wrapped in lace and ribbon, surrounded by succulents and bouquets of pink and yellow pastel peonies and succulents. When the sun went down, the bride and groom shared their first dance under the romantic canopy of outdoor lights strung from tree to tree. They left the venue in a shower of rose petals and cheers to enjoy their honeymoon in the Caribbean.

Great Gatsby Inspiration Shoot from Urban Magnolia Weddings and Events

I’ve just now finished reading The Great Gatsby (somehow I missed it in high school) and ever since, I’ve been daydreaming about Daisy, Tom, and Gatsby and the night parties rich with champagne and howling laughter that raged on and on through the romantic summer evenings of West Egg. This inspiration shoot from Urban Magnolia Weddings and Events has quite perfectly brought to life all of my daydreams in each and every image from Brittany Nicole Photography. I’ve never seen such beautiful photos (read pg. 98 in your books, folks) as in our gallery, right here.

From Brittany Nicole PhotographyI had dreamed about photographing my own stylized shoot, and with my growing love of all things 1920’s, I thought the idea of a Gatsby-styled wedding would make for a stylized shoot that was the bee’s knees! I quickly contacted Kristine Baker of Urban Magnolia Weddings and Events to collaborate on all the unique details. As vendors, we are always asked for ideas, concepts and inspiration, but what does this look like when it all comes together for your big day? Well, Kristine and I set out to show you just what a group of talented vendors can do! From the “spiffy” table linens, to a “swanky” cake design, to Dallas’ own 1920’s “hotsy-totsy” band, each piece was thoughtfully put together, well, to feel a bit like having your own modern-day speakeasy!

From the Bride…Although we live in the Northeast, we decided to have a destination wedding in San Antonio because it’s my hometown and has a truly special and unique character. Our wedding began with a Catholic ceremony at San Fernando Cathedral in San Antonio’s Main Plaza followed by a reception at Hotel Contessa on the Riverwalk. We incorporated San Antonio’s vibe into our wedding with a Mexican folk music group at our ceremony and an all-female mariachi band and Mexican wedding cookies at our reception. To add to our wedding theme, we decided to have our reception at a Spanish-themed hotel. We fell in love with Hotel Contessa’s Spanish food and charm and Riverwalk location and thought it would be the perfect place to celebrate our special day.

From the Bride… Soft, sweet, elegant and vintage was the look I was going for. I always imagined myself getting married outside, but when Joe and I settled on June 2 as our wedding date, we realized an outdoor wedding would be REALLY HOT! After searching for the perfect venue, we stumbled upon Ashton Gardens! Immediately we knew it was the place for us — it was a place that felt like you were outdoors when you were inside! The large windows that encapsulate the chapel and reception area provided plenty of natural light for the wedding, as well as beautiful views of the small forest and gardens that surrounded the building. To create the soft and sweet feel of the wedding I knew I wanted cheerful colors, so I chose a palette of dusty rose, sage, yellow and peach. The colors looked great against the ivory decorations in the ballroom. Some objects that I used to try to create a vintage feel were antique picture frames, mercury glass vases, lace doilies and old books! I believe our wedding reflected the joy and beauty of love between two people that is centered on Christ! I’m so thankful for Ashton Gardens and the innate purity and peace that the venue carries. Thanks to Sara & Rocky Photography for capturing the happiest day of my life!

Buda Wedding at Le San Michele from Shauna Autry Photography

I have always been a believer in a gray and yellow color palette, but this wedding from Shauna Autry Photography has just made me a die hard fan of these lovely hues. It was the moment I saw those beautiful yellow blooms from Verbena Floral Design, perfectly paired with succulents and dusty miller leaves (my favorite) that I knew we were going to have the forever kind of love. And the best part of this entire fest? The couple’s impressively choreographed dancing to “I’ve Had the Time of My Life” that I would have paid to see. Find every moment of this wedding in our gallery, right here.

From Shauna Autry PhotographyAbby and Andy’s wedding was the perfect convergence of French countryside and the bright, fresh, fun feel of Austin. This wedding featured lemons, bicycles, yellows and grays, with a lot of love and a huge amount of heart. Abby and Andy put this entire wedding together with a little (okay, a whole lot of) help from their friends. From eclectic table settings to little detailed touches, all the way to break-down, the couple’s friends and family pitched in and created the most beautiful wedding. Abby’s father performed the heartfelt ceremony, where the secret vows were hilariously similar. The couple’s dogs escorted the ring bearers down the aisle, all wearing bows and tuxes. The most climatic part of the entire celebration was when Abby disappeared before the first dance, only to arrive in her Dirty Dancing attire to dance for the first time to a perfectly-choreographed Time of My Life/”no one puts baby in a corner” homage. It was spectacular. It was an amazing homegrown wedding masterminded by the bride and beautifully executed by all those who love her.

From Jenny DeMarco PhotographyEmily and Dan’s wedding was bright, cheerful with a little sense of humor – a perfect reflection of their personalities. The color palette consisted of bright yellow, coral and turquoise. We loved the yellow chevron table runners, the matching yellow metal chairs and the vintage china with gold accents. There were touches of playful humor around the wedding, and one of my favorites was the cut outs of the retro “Mr.” and “Mrs.” at the bride and groom’s place settings.

An important aspect which tied the wedding together was the signage that the amazing team at Liv by Design pulled together. The signage possessed a look that was fun, colorful and a bit retro. For the ceremony, each guest received a bell with a small tag attached that read “When they kiss, ring the bell!” This was a surprise from the bride’s mother to the couple, and it was so sweet to hear all the bells chiming during the kiss. Another significant piece of signage were the bar signs. One read “It’s Cocktail Time” and the other was “Slaiente!” which means “Cheers!” in Gaelic. This was a nod to the groom’s Irish background. The postcard escort cards were from places significant to the bride and groom, such as where they first met and their favorite bar, and featured a back story for each place. The postcards were created with the table number in the “stamp” area and name/table assignment in the space where addresses go.

Emily wanted her flowers to be bright and cheerful, just like her personality. Using different shades of yellow, coral and ivory, The Byrd Collective created intricate arrangements of peonies, garden roses, tulips, hydrangea, ranunculus, scabiosa, craspedia, veronica, Queen Anne’s lace and scented geranium. Emily carried a lush and romantic bouquet of coral charm peonies, yellow garden roses, white ranunculus, Queen Anne’s lace and scented geranium tied with lace from her mother’s bridal veil. The bride also walked down the aisle wearing her grandmother’s diamond studs.

From Allison Davis Photography Vanessa and Andy were married in July at the Westin Galleria Dallas. It is such a beautiful and modern wedding venue space in Dallas. These two have been dating for such a long time that their families were kind of already blended together, and it was a beautiful celebration for all of them. They had a beautifully-designed ballroom, and I loved their wedding cake by the Cake Guys! It mimicked Vanessa’s wedding dress perfectly. Vanessa’s dad gave an amazing speech to kick off the wedding reception — I love it when people take the opportunity to say the things they feel on these special occasions. They also had the entertaining Inside Out Band perform great music to keep the party going all night long. Andy was a hit on the dance floor with all of his great dance moves. They left to a rose petal toss exit on their way out to their honeymoon in Hawaii.

Austin Wedding at The Allan House from Caroline + Ben Photography

Why is it that everything in Texas just seems so effortlessly pretty and fresh? Your weddings are some of the loveliest we’ve seen and this one is certainly no exception. Sent into us by the super talented Caroline + Ben Photography, this wedding is the epitome of casual elegance. Each and every detail was carefully crafted by the bride, her mom and the wedding party and we’re loving every.single.inch from the to-die-for florals to the yummy dessert table! See even more here.

From the Bride… I just wanted the wedding to feel fun and very “us,” which meant lots of Texas elements, gold, good food and great music. I believe we went in wanting a sort of Brooks-Brothers-meets-hipster-cowboy look and ended up with a gold-plated, hipster, redneck dance party. Mostly just wanted the theme to be “fun” and, um, GOLD. In terms of design elements, we tried to repeat the flags with the Texas shape and heart from our invites throughout the decor, including in the cake topper, favors, and photo booth logo. My mom dyed or dipped all the colored or gold mason jars. I promised my bridesmaids only ONE day of crafting, when we made the flag signs, cake topper, cupcake flags and hand-tied the programs. My grandmother and aunt made me all the homemade candy that was on the dessert bar, including the delicious fudge. My brother helped set up the photo booth, and I spent one boring night watching television and making that glorious fringed background.

My advice to other brides is to take it easy on everyone around you — being flexible and easygoing with your fiance, wedding party, family and vendors makes everyone much more happy and excited to celebrate. Trust the people around you (re: what to wear, what forks to rent, how much ice to get, what goes in their speech), and they’re sure to make choices that make your event special. The only exception to this is when it comes to bills — treat quotes and invoices like business transactions and you’re less likely to get overcharged! And if your parents are paying, let them go crazy with the guest list (most won’t show up, but almost all will send gifts.) It’s their event too.

From Allison Davis PhotographyLindsay and Russell were married in May in a beautiful outdoor wedding ceremony at the Trinity River Audubon Center, which is just south of Dallas. The based their entire wedding ceremony around the symbol of the wedding ring and even had their ceremony in the middle of a circle with their family and friends surrounding them. It was a beautiful and touching ceremony filled with laughter and joy. Lindsay had a vision for a wildflower wedding, and thanks to Angie of Posh Floral Designs and Kelly & Meaghan of Sweet Pea Events, her vision came to life. The Trinity River Audubon Center is a perfect location for a wildflower-inspired wedding. The landscape was beautiful, and we had the most wonderful light for their wedding day. I loved all of the special touches they incorporated into their wedding reception design, from their sign-in quilt to their his-and-hers sock monkeys and board game tables. It was a lovely reception. The couple left their reception on a vintage fire truck, which was Russell’s surprise from Lindsay.

Hill Country Wedding at Camp Lucy from a’la Vie Photography

Ceramic pigs? Yes please! That’s just one of the wonderful elements from this wedding by a’la Vie Photography that I can’t get enough of. With a venue like Camp Lucy, that’s already as sweet as pie, you’d wonder how a couple could top its fabulousness for their wedding day. Insert the wow-worthy work of Verve Austin and flowers by Westbank Flower Market. Hold the round of applause for the full gallery here.

From a’la Vie PhotographyLara Pool and Timothy West had a gorgeous, outdoor wedding in June in the Texas hill country out at Camp Lucy. The grounds are beautiful on their own, but Lara and her wedding planner, Barbara Shorts of Verve Austin, brought in tons of flowers that made the venue even more spectacular. The weather couldn’t have been more perfect, and the sweet touches of butterflies and ceramic pigs made this whimsical wedding even more fun.

There were outdoor sitting areas that created a sweet intimacy for the guests even though the area is huge. Lara and Timothy danced the night away to one of their favorite bands, Jabarvy. Guests had two photo booths to choose from to document their day, along with a cigar roller who made custom cigars. Lara and Timothy spent the night surrounded by family and friends. I wish them both the best!

Ryan and I have not lived in the same city since we began dating during the last few months of our high school senior year in Fort Worth, TX. After high school graduation, we went to different colleges and after college, we pursued individual dreams in different East Coast cities. After eight years in a long distance relationship, Ryan proposed in beautiful Spring Lake, NJ (our East Coast weekend getaway) and we made the decision to return to our roots in Fort Worth.

Because friends and family from all over the country would be traveling to Texas (some for the first time!) for our wedding, it was important for us to 1) introduce them to Fort Worth and 2) share our story as a couple in a fun and entertaining way.

Ryan was such a sport about letting me chase my Style Me Pretty wedding dream. My bridesmaids wore blush dresses of their choosing and carried smaller versions of my bouquet. Created by Dallas-based Branching Out, the blush, green and white creations were filled with hydrangea, peony, ranuncula and rose blooms. The groomsmen and ushers looked so sharp in their classic tuxes with a single ranuncula as a boutonniere. One of my favorite details was my tutu-clad flower girl and the floral wand she carried as she walked down the aisle.

Following the ceremony at the architecturally-significant Marty Leonard Community Chapel, we kicked off the reception at City Club of Fort Worth with bridal party introductions and a dance-off, setting the high-energy tone for the rest of the evening. The reception decor’s heavy use of mercury glass and emphasis on candlelight worked so well with City Club’s mirrored columns and floor-to-ceiling windows.

As much as I love glitz and glam, I wanted Ryan to feel equally represented in City Club’s ballroom so I made sure to add as many personalized details as possible. We walked into the reception holding a UFC Championship belt Ryan’s groomsmen had presented us with after the ceremony (Ryan is a huge fan!). Guests sat at tables named after cities that played a significant role in our lives or relationship (New York was my home and second love for three years; Washington, D.C. is where Ryan went to law school). Guests were served a pink lemonade, orange juice, Red Bull and vodka-infused signature cocktail Ryan created and named “Jersey Shore.” Linen napkins embroidered with our monogram were placed at the head table. In addition to the four-tier bridal confection, Colleen’s Cakes masterfully recreated a UFC octagon with our initials for the groom’s cake. We sampled our wedding cake using a “I do, Me too” hand stamped cake fork set and served the cake with a “Love is sweet, Carrie & Ryan 5.19.12” hand stamped cake server. Our grandparents and parents wedding pictures were displayed to add a familial touch.

After dinner, cake-cutting and a touching toast, Ryan’s Jersey boys showed everyone how to tear up the dance floor. No one stopped dancing until it was time to release oversized white balloons during our classic downtown Fort Worth getaway – a horse and carriage.

It was so nice to share our wedding day with 100 family and friends from different stages of our relationship and we’re so glad that Helmutwalker Photography and Lynn Films captured the best night of our lives so perfectly.

From Ann Marie Itschner PhotographyJennifer and Chris live and work in Houston and wanted to get married in the Hill Country. She had so many good memories of her childhood camp days around there. She is also one lucky gal — she works for David Peck (formerly Miles David), and he made a custom wedding dress for her, as well as her three sisters as her bridesmaids! To die for! The lace on her gown was so fluid and light that it almost had a relaxed feel to it, which perfectly describes Jennifer who is laid-back and full of life. The dress was immaculate and so was the day. Viridian Design Studio always does such a good job with their flowers, and these were no exception. Simple elegance and tranquility. Riverhill Country Club is a historic estate in Kerrville, and the grounds were perfect for the reception. The guests just had to walk right on over and enjoy the night with their friends. This was a fabulous event that was full of style and so chic.

Austin Club Wedding from Luke and Cat Photography

Cupid has arrived and left me feeling lovestruck over this wedding by Luke and Cat Photography. The yellow rose in Texas has never looked more beautiful than in the bouquets and arrangements by The Silver Vase which added gray touches to the day. Can we talk about the photo outside the state capital? I am beaming with Texas pride! There are so many must see details in the full gallery!

From Luke and Cat PhotographyLydia and Brandon’s downtown Austin wedding was a Texan’s dream! The bride and groom met while in college at Baylor University, and both are Texas natives. They chose to travel to Austin to be married and selected a historic downtown gem, Central Christian Church, for the ceremony. The church’s fourth century-inspired Italian architecture and handsome ironwork served as a lovely backdrop for their touching marriage ceremony. Lydia has a timeless and classic style. She wore an elegant lace Allure Couture gown with a cut-out back. Her blonde hair was pinned into a stylish twist, and an antique hairpin held a birdcage veil. The bridesmaids wore gray chevron-print maxi dresses. The groom and groomsmen were dressed in classic gray tuxedos. As the sun poured in the stained glass windows of the church, Lydia’s mom escorted her down the aisle. Family and friends fanned themselves with the multi-functional fan programs while Lydia and Brandon said their vows, prayed together and were read special letters from their parents.

After they said, “I do,” in true Texas fashion, the bride and groom requested portraits in downtown Austin at sunset in front of the state capitol. The flowers for the day featured bouquets and arrangements with the yellow and gray color palette of the day – most featuring the famed “yellow rose of Texas.” At sunset the couple gathered with friends and family for dinner and dancing at the ballroom of The Austin Club. Personal details that meant something to the couple were mainstays at the reception: Lydia’s buttercream cake was accented with yellow roses and flanked by a family heirloom: Brandon’s grandparents’ original bride and groom cake topper from many decades ago. Brandon’s cake was a nod to their alma mater where they first met: an exact replica of the Baylor bear. Lydia’s mother made the hand-etched vases with the couple’s initials that held the arrangements at the reception. The signature cocktail of the night was a Texas favorite (and the groom’s choice): Shiner Bock. As a parting gift, guests were given bags of caramel popcorn, made by Lydia’s mother, to take home as favors.

Lydia and Brandon had a day filled with laughter and happy times. Their first dance song, “You Are The Sunshine of My Life,” was a perfect fit for their sunny day!

From Julie Wilhite PhotographyTodd and Stacey’s wedding was sweet, soft and romantic with vintage touches.  They tied the knot at the University of Houston’s iconic A.D. Bruce Religion Center and continued the celebration at the delicious restaurant Ouisie’s Table.  Stacey’s colors were dusty pink/rose and ivory.  Some unique touches to their wedding – a dear family friend painted the flowers on the invitations, the cake topper is vintage and she gathered antique tea cups, milk glass and porcelain to use as the flower containers.  The results were gorgeous!
