A Classic Garden Wedding Beeming With Blooms and Pure Joy!

A bride who radiates happiness, a timeless ivory and green palette, and an elegant tented reception – this full gallery by Feather & Twine is an immediate mood booster! Wild Sky Events pulled off the couple’s dream backyard wedding and made it look easy, all while overcoming a myriad of challenges that naturally come with hosting a private home affair. Clementine Botanical Art created classic arrangements lush with white blooms and touches of soft greenery. Keep on reading to find out more details on this inspiring Fall fête.

Classic romantic garden private home wedding full of personal touches and delicate details. This wedding was a labor of love. Our bride Sophia very much wanted to be married at her in her backyard and have an elegant garden party wedding with Tuscany details as a nod to the architecture of the house.

For the color palette Sophia and her mother Mary chose a classic palette of ivory, white and green. Eggshell table linens, delicate and natural floral design, botanical inspired day of stationery with classic hand calligraphy, stoneware accents for the chargers and vases, classic silver flatware all came together to create a romantic and natural garden design.

From the Bride and Groom… We really enjoyed creating the ceremony ourselves, from choosing all of the songs to writing the officiants message.

Sophia loved working with her mom (and Kate from Wild Sky Events!) to choose all of the details was very special. While making the decor decisions together was so much fun, the stories of her parents’ own wedding and marriage advice that came out of these conversations was one of the best parts of wedding planning for Sophia.

Keeping family at the center of the weekend was very important to the couple. Sophia’s engagement ring belonged to Andy’s great grandmother, her veil belonged to her own great grandmother, and they were married by Andy’s aunt.

All of our vendors were absolutely incredible, and made our dream of a classic backyard wedding come true. The food was delicious, the photographs capture our joy beautifully, we had the best live band we’ve ever heard, and Kate and the Wild Sky Events team brought everything together in the most gorgeous way.

Private home weddings always have their share of challenges as these spaces are not necessarily meant to host large parties. For this wedding the main challenge was the backyard as it was steeply terraced. Which meant we had to build a platform across multiple levels to accommodate the tent, a large staircase to get to the lower lawn for the ceremony, and build a floor over the pool to create a dance floor and stage area.

Our goals was to give guests that wow factor when they first enter the backyard space and make it feel like the space had always looked this way. We wanted the design of the wedding to blend seamlessly into the garden and home so that it truly felt like spending a lovely day in the garden. When working with private properties the goal is always to enhance the the existing space to make it seem like it took no time at all to make this transformation happen. The reality is it takes an incredible team of dedicated vendors to ensure that every detail turns out perfectly.

A Wedding So Nice That This Sweet Couple Got Married Twice

Margi and Andrew decided to celebrate their love not once but twice! After Covid change their wedding plans, the couple had an intimate ceremony under a giant oak tree at The Houstonian Hotel. Then when the time came to have a larger celebration, they had a second ceremony under the same historic tree! Belle Events formerly Belle of the Ball brought the couple’s Big Day vision to life, and Maxit Flower Design created not-to-be-missed floral installations that make the reception space feel like a secret garden.  Every heartfelt moment was elegantly captured in the imagery by Ashlen Sydney Photography, visit the full gallery to see it all unfold.

From 718 CreativeTo meet Margi and Andrew is to instantly fall in love with them! For months they planned the wedding of their dreams, but like many couples, when COVID hit, their dreams of celebrating with their family and friends had to be put on hold. Margi and Andrew had such great attitudes throughout the planning process, they were just happy to have each other. It was an incredibly smooth planning process despite having two dates because they were optimistic and reasonable all along the way.

Instead of completely giving up, they decided to celebrate their love with an intimate ceremony under the famous oak tree at The Houstonian Hotel.  Surrounded by their dearest loved ones and thousands of twinkle lights, they said “I Do” and began their life as husband and wife. It was incredibly special and allowed them to begin their married life surrounded by their closest loved ones. But, Margi is always looking for a dance party, so as soon as it was safe, the party was back on! The custom floral print that adorned the dancefloor and band backdrop brought a new life to the historic ballroom.

The pops of color continued into the floral arrangements and brought the bride’s peppy personality to life! Manhattan kept the dance floor full all night, and as they say, “It was a Margi Party!!” And a dance party isn’t complete without a confetti cannon to end the night. Their second ceremony was filled with family and friends, complete with 12 ring bearers and flower girls, under the same historic oak tree they were officially wed under months before. No detail was overlooked, and The Essential Market completed the colorful palette with floral details on cocktail napkins to match their House Of Hough linensManhattan Band ended the night by leading the newlyweds out to “When the Saints Go Marching In”, as they walked under a flurry of rose petals into married life.

European Inspired Spring Wedding at the Commodore Perry Estate

Rich hues of burgundy play beautifully with pink at this European-inspired Commodore Perry Estate wedding.  Kailee Roberts Design helped dream up the dazzling day letting the beauty of the location shine throughout each vignette.  Playfully romantic flowers by Truth & Blooms brought the vision to life beautifully, and workshop host and photographer Jenna McElroy elegantly captured all of the beauty in her artful imagery.  Fall in love with every darling detail in the full gallery.

From Photographer & Workshop Hostess Jenna McElroyFor this workshop, I worked with Kailee with Kailee Roberts Design at the inimitable Commodore Perry Estate in central Austin. It’s important for Kailee to feel like each workshop set up was a part of the venue. Kailee wanted to make sure that we enhanced the natural beauty of Commodore Perry Estate, and let this gem of a venue shine!

The Commodore Perry Estate is quite stunning, so we knew the rich, romantic tones of floral by Truth & Blooms and details would be the perfect complement for this European-inspired venue. We knew a patterned yet flowyMonique Lhullier gown from Julian Gold San Antonio would be the perfect bridal gown. It would tie in the freshly blooming roses in the Gardens with the romantic European-inspired architecture. For the invitation suite, we had Megan with Peach Paper Design use the wedding gown floral design to create the invitation suite, menu & detail cards!

On the day we hosted the workshop, the onsite restaurant was closed so we were able to place the cake by Feathers & Frosting and the cocktails and desserts by Bonjour Brigadeiro in the magical Luties. The restaurant has overflowing plants in pots over every table. It truly feels like an old-world Greenhouse. Every design detail came together perfectly to create a perfect Editorial Series workshop, leaving every attendee and wedding artist inspired.

Stylish San Antonio Wedding Filled With Bright Bursts Of Color

Looking to make your big day pop? This San Antonio wedding has all the bright and beautiful inspiration you need.  Filled with blooming bougainvillea and the prettiest patterns throughout the day, Sweet August Events brought our bride’s vision to life in the most stylish of ways.  Freesia Designs and Events filled the event with chic and colorful flowers to energize the space, and Caroline Lima Photography perfectly captured the love and joy of the day in her elegant imagery.  You’ll love every daring detail featured in the full gallery.

From the bride… I met my husband in Virginia and most of his family and friends are from the Mid-Atlantic area. I knew I wanted to show off San Antonio and embrace the culture I had grown up around. I am so inspired by San Miguel and seeing other weddings in that area, and knew there were so many parallels to San Antonio it would be a great combination! The riverwalk is a huge draw for San Antonio, and I was familiar with the venue of Southwest School of Art. The old mission look with all the stone and dark woods really embraced the San Miguel feeling and reaffirmed my vision.

With the darker/neutral setting, I knew I wanted bright colors. I LOVE color. The main focal points revolve around the bougainvillea arch, and the blue and white Taleveras seen throughout Mexico. I talked about my vision with Katherine, and she immediately embraced it and hit the nail on the head when creating my vision boards. She had a picture of a bougainvillea type arch and I immediately fell in love and knew I wanted that to be a focal point.

All of our vendors were amazing at bringing their own touches and tying in my personal style and the feel I wanted to create. I was pretty hands-off with the bridesmaids’ dresses and it worked out perfectly! I told them a warm, floral print dress they were comfortable in and it was perfect. I already knew the “theme” and vision I was going for when I went dress shopping. I loved the combination of the classic silhouette, with a fun, textured, movement-like pattern. The laser cute lace reminded me of papel picado and that sold the dress for me.  As much as I loved my wedding dress, I knew I would want to be more comfortable to dance around to Taylor Swift. I stumbled upon the two-piece Alexis set and fell in love with the blue embroidery. I actually think I bought the set before my wedding dress- it was too perfect with the Mexican theme and Talavera tile to pass up.

Austin Garden Wedding Filled With Fabulous Fall Foliage

This Austin wedding day will take your breath away. Two Be Wed helped fill the day with special touches, like a neon escort card display that read, “with my whole heart.”  From the garden ceremony to the tented reception,Stems Floral designed romantic arrangements that help bring our couple’s love story to life.   If all that’s not enough to get the happy tears going, just wait until you see the beautiful bridal portraits shot against the most incredible foliage by Jeff Brummett,  You can see every magical moment in the full gallery.

From Jeff BrummettConlee and Forrest’s wedding at Mattie’s At Green Pastures was so full of joy! From the emotional first look to the stunning ceremony, there were lots of happy tears being shed. Their friends and family were an important part of the day as well. The couple wanted to make sure everyone felt appreciated and had a great time. Of course, Mattie’s At Green Pastures is an Austin treasure and made for the perfect backdrop.

From the bride… Our ceremony was full of emotion, including floods of happy tears from Forrest and guests. My cheeks hurt by the end from smiling so big the entire time. It was intimate, 91 of our closest family and friends watched us exchange handwritten vows, commit to each other for life, and share our first kiss as husband and wife. I walked into the ceremony with my dad to “I’ll Stay” by Matt Stinton. Forrest picked the song before we were ever engaged. He said it made him tear up the first time he heard it and knew it was what needed to play as I walked down the aisle to him. We walked out to Hall and Oates “You Make My Dreams Come True.” Forrest was a mess, it was only my second time to ever see him cry. I loved every second of his emotions pouring out. Our backdrop was incredible. We were both obsessed with the monochrome gold tones. The fall foliage fit into our color scheme and let my white dress and his blue tuxedo pop. It was time we needed to soak in what was about to happen, the vows we were about to share, the commitment we were about to make. A chance to embrace each other for the last time before being husband and wife. This was when Forrest also gave me a handmade print he made of our wedding logo that I designed. He is an incredible artist and I had begged him for over a year to make me something, and I finally got it. It was so special and I’ll treasure the piece and memory forever.

The florals were what I was most excited to see come to life on our Austin wedding day. I was dead set on an aisle runner and a large, lush arch. I wanted ivory tones for the ceremony and to have the reception florals carry the colors of cocktail hour. We wanted the reception to feel like a natural progression of the evening. Low centerpieces were intentional to encourage conversation across the table. The florals were meant to enhance the venue, not steal the show. The vibe I was aiming for was an upscale, intimate, garden wedding. I wanted it to feel lush with flowers. Every aspect of the decor would feel intentional and meaningful. We both wanted the guests to be able to feel how special they are to us and how much we love each of them. Our wedding was planned around our loved ones first. Their experience was foremost on our minds. We wanted to show them our gratefulness and make our wedding a happy memory for everyone.

Modern Romance Meets Garden Chic At The Arlo

What happens when you mix a real-life couple, a hot new wedding venue, and a team of talented vendors? Wedding magic, of course! 787 Event Design & Production dreamed up a beyond romantic day mixed with modern design elements that all pairs perfectly with the beautiful backdrop of Texas Hill Country. Floral installations by Gypsy Floral are almost too good to be true, featuring beautiful blooms in shades of mauve, rust, honey, and blush. The incredible inspiration and carefully curated details are all exquisitely captured in the imagery by Julie Wilhite Photography, you can see it all in the full gallery.

From Julie Wilhite PhotographyWhen a new venue opens up in Austin, and it is as incredible as The Arlo, you get so inspired to do a shoot there! The Arlo fills a much-needed space for couples in the Hill Country. Its understated elegance, with modern design, provides a luxury backdrop for events and weddings of all sizes. Nestled in the Texas Hill Country, between downtown Austin and Dripping Springs, it was built with every detail in mind and thoughtfully planned out to utilize the incredible landscape. Our real-life couple, Katie and Micah, were such a joy to photograph. They are so in love and were excited to be part of this shoot. To design the event, Lexie with 787 Event Design & Production came in with incredible creativity to create a romantic affair, complete with a perfectly modern color palette. A palette of mauve, rust, honey, and blush contrasted with a dusty pacific blue accent. This shoot was a burst of inspiration and fresh design while still being luxurious and romantic.

Peach Paper Design created custom stationery to match our vision: modern romance. Each product in the suite was printed on different colored paper, so guests got a glimpse into the color story of the wedding day. To style this fashionable couple, we worked with Caleigh from CHILLANN Styling. She is an incredibly talented wardrobe stylist in Austin, who often works with couples to style engagement shoots, weddings, and events! For Katie, she chose a beautifully tailored white tuxedo by The Suit Shop with a blush button-down. Micah stunned in the Elora gown by Madi Lane Bridal. It was such a dream to photograph with a soft off-the-shoulder sleeve and romantic lace motif throughout! The layers of tulle danced around as she walked, and the sunlight glowed around the couple as the sunset. For her shoes, Micah wore The Esther kitten heel from Bella Belle. The soft tulle bow tied into the tulle skirt, while the beaded lace details complimented the lace embroidery on the gown. After an intimate ceremony on the venue’s lawn, which featured a large floral installation by Gypsy Floral, we headed to the styled cocktail hour in The Courtyard. The soft blush couch tied in the pink hues in the flowers and the armless mid-century inspired chairs highlighted the clean lines of the venue floor-to-ceiling windows.

When it came to the reception, we created an intimate al-fresco atmosphere where the Texas Hill Country could take center stage. A velvet tablecloth in dusty pacific blue was styled with modern plates and silverware and tied together with the round menus. Organic floral compotes were placed along the table, while the candles added a soft glimmer throughout the evening. It was the perfect marriage of modern and romance! For dessert, Iced Cakes ATX created an incredible work of art. The five-tier cake tied in the ribbed texture of the candles, while the round sugar detail tied into the unique stationery.

Romantic Texas Hill-Country Wedding with Holiday Flair!

Looking to deck the halls at your December wedding? This Texas Hill-Country wedding with holiday flair proves that getting married during the holidays doesn’t necessarily mean you need the classic red and green color palette! Rose Andrew Events and The Flower Girl tastefully incorporated rich colors and textures into this lovely day at Stonehouse Villa. Every heartfelt moment was flawlessly captured by Sarah Stiponovich. If you’re on the hunt for ways to showcase this special time of the year for your own winter nuptials, browse through the full gallery to see every last detail!

From Emily of Rose Andrew Events… Emily & Drew met at work and began dating shortly thereafter—they went on 4 dates the first week they began seeing each other! On their second date, they were given a lucky $2 bill by a man who said he keeps them in his pocket in honor of his late wife and gifts them to couples who clearly look in love *SWOON*. Years later, Drew proposed on a beautiful morning after a sunrise hike in the Colorado mountains. One of the most special parts of Emily & Drews nuptials is that it was true celebration of both families coming together. They kept with a family tradition and got married at the same venue that all of the bride’s siblings wed at— a beautiful Hill Country Wedding venue that is down the street from her family home—Stonehouse Villa. Many of the guests had been there time and time again to celebrate each Peter child and it was special to hear guests reminisce about each wedding they attended as they celebrated Emily & Drew. As guests were welcomed, they saw framed wedding photos of parents, grandparents, aunts and uncles, and siblings from both sides of the family. Emily and Drew toasted with the same gold goblets that her parents used at their wedding and cut their cake under sparkling disco balls with a cake knife that has been passed through her family. And, Emily’s dad is a vintage car collector and they used a different car for each of their wedding weekend festivities—they rolled up to their rehearsal dinner in a vintage white mustang and to their wedding in a classic Rolls Royce—the very same one that all of her siblings arrived and exited their wedding with. Drew’s father was even his best man!

Emily wore a Sarah Seven gown, modern gold hoop earrings and a beautiful veil that was handmade by her mother— complete with hundreds of hand sewn on pearls! Her lovely bridesmaids wore black gowns in mismatching textures of chiffon, velvet and silk. Drew and his groomsmen wore custom tuxes.

Our bride LOVES Christmas and wanted to incorporate holiday elements without it feeling like a “Christmas wedding.” What came to fruition was a beautiful day rich in color, textures and special elements that had a lot of holiday/winter flair without it feeling overtly Christmas-y. We designed a reception with luxe velvet throughout—from the caramel table linens to the plush dusty Rose velvet napkins to the sage velvet table numbers and bar menu to the black and maroon velvet ribbons tied on the menus. Kari from The Flower Girl TX created the most spectacular florals for E&D’s big day— complete with a lush tiered ground ceremony arch and hundreds of buds vases filled to the brim with blooms. She incorporated pops of mauves, deeps reds and greens in the florals. Koozies were passed to guests with a custom design that said “All I Want for Christmas is Drew”—after 2 weeks of dating, Drew called his siblings and when they answered he said “I’m in love, I’m in love and I don’t care who knows it!” so we included Buddy the Elf on the koozies in memory of that famous movie quote. The band also ended the night with The song “All I Want for Christmas is You” and guests donned Santa and elf hats, light up Christmas light necklaces and Santa cowboy hats. Our bride was voted “karaoke queen” in high school and proved her skills by singing “I Wanna Dance with Somebody” (her go to karaoke song) at their reception—complete with a “leg guitar” solo…

Emily & Drew love to travel the world together and collect photo albums from each of their trips. We were inspired by the mountains that Drew proposed to Emily in front of and their love for travel throughout their day! Guests signed a National Geographic coffee table book, there was a hand painted rendering of the view where Drew proposed on their dinner menu and a beautiful mountaintop escort display in varying shades.

A Travel Lover’s Dream At This European Inspired Texas Hill Country Wedding

Christine and Garret’s love story has some travel-loving ties in it, so it made perfect sense that they would model their wedding off the lush, old-world vibes of France and Italy. When the bride is a wedding planner you know every little detail will be thought out- and it was! Christine, the owner of Houston Soirée, planned her own wedding day to perfection. Her custom crest was featured throughout each part of her day in subtle but impactful areas, even on a custom dance floor! Blooms by Tamara Menges Designs added just the right touch of romance, and every magical moment was all beautifully captured in the imagery by Alicia Yarrish. You can see all the pretty in the full gallery.

From Published + PrettyAfter meeting online and talking for a few months, Christine and Garret found out he was childhood friends with her current neighbor. Garret made a plan to visit them both in-town and one date turned into two. Fast forward through four years of dating, the pair planned an international trip for Christine’s birthday. It was at the Eiffel Tower that Garret asked Christine to marry him, and of course, she said yes!

Houston Oaks was the perfect venue for this couple. It provides such an amazing backdrop for a European-inspired wedding day. With Southern France and Italy feeling landscaping, French architecture in the Ladies Lounge, the iconic 15th-century French chapel that was brought over and placed where it stands today.

Overall the design came together so beautifully- the Italian greens and French blues paired so well with subtle pinks throughout, every detail was picture perfect. And most importantly, Christine and Garrett made so many amazing memories that day that they’ll be able to re-live through their photos.

Elevated Modern-Retro Fall Wedding Inspiration In Texas

With thoughtful and intentionally playful details, the whimsy of this inspirational shoot is sure to put a smile on your face. Subtle retro nods, carefully curated by The Venue Studio, beautifully befit the setting of this special day. Varying greenery textures, grasses, and small hints of fall foliage designed by Truth and Blooms create a modern, organic look that we can’t get enough of. Every magical moment was lovingly captured in the imagery by Abbey Leigh Photography, you can watch the full day unfold in the full gallery.

From The Venue StudioI wanted this shoot to embody the wedding venue’s brand through the colors, patterns and fonts that were used. The entire shoot was inspired by the wallpaper designer Morris & Co. that is seen in the staircase leading up to the bridal room. I love how this designer beautifully combines modern and traditional design to create something timeless.

I selected the Morris & Co. Pimpernel pattern to set the tone for the color palette of the shoot. This pattern was used throughout the shoot for fluidity. However, I incorporated the gingham pattern for a pop of color & pattern, that is seen in the venue bridal suite pillows.

This shoot was designed with a bride in mind who isn’t afraid of pattern and color and is willing to incorporate untraditional elements into her special day, like an Oyster bar for guests to enjoy!

It’s elegance all the way at this sophisticated citrus-inspired workshop hosted by Jenna McElroy. Nothing says springtime better than bright shades of yellow, pink, and green and Drops of Honey Designs used this fresh color palette to plan a day that dazzles. Organic free-flowing florals by Truth & Blooms are timelessly modern yet playfully romantic. The beauty of the day is exquisitely captured in the imagery by Sarah Tribett Photography. You can fawn over all the fabulous in the full gallery.

From Sarah Tribett PhotographyThis shoot was designed to embody the wedding venue’s brand through the colors, patterns, and fonts that were used. Located at the brand new venue, Wish Well House, it featured whimsical elements with modern details, dressed in a citrus color palette of yellow, pink, and green accents.

The entire shoot was inspired by the wallpaper designer Morris & Co. That is seen in the staircase leading up to the bridal room. This designer beautifully combines modern and traditional design to create something timeless.

This shoot was designed with a bride in mind who isn’t afraid of pattern and color and is willing to incorporate untraditional elements into her special day, like an oyster bar for guests to enjoy! The day has classic touches yet is modern to its core.

Intentionality and Purpose Were Infused Into Every Detail at This Garden-Inspired Vow Renewal

This garden-inspired editorial is bound to make your heart blossom! LoveLee Experiences created the perfect intimate setting to celebrate this couple’s vow renewal at McGovern Centennial Gardens. Intentionality and purpose were infused into every detail as Event by Ova enclosed the ceremony space with a semi-circle of florals to represent the couple’s all-encompassing love for each other and their guests. Thoughtful touches like the prettiest champagne tower and flower-adorned cakes made for even sweeter memories to cherish in the years to come. Take in all the blooming beauty of flourishing love at the full gallery, captured by the ever-talented Studio Rendition!

From LoveLee ExperiencesAn intimate event means more attention to intentional detail and not the contrary. What has taken us by storm during the pandemic and turned out to be such a beautiful way to celebrate with those you love! This styled shoot contains elements that emulate an actual intimate vow renewal.

We are purposeful when choosing married couples as models to capture snapshots of a story that reflects the depth of their marriage. Our couple celebrated their 18th year of marriage at the end of June! The ceremony space is a blueprint for a design that can expand to a guest count to fit an intimate event.

The flowers were intentionally designed to be a semi-circle and enclose the guest space, a way to symbolize those who have been an integral part of a couple’s marriage. The cake, sweetheart table, and champagne tower serve as a way to tie everything together into one sweet, memorable occasion.

Custom Everything for This Stunning Arrowhead Hill Wedding

This insanely gorgeous Texas wedding justifies our love for the iconic Arrowhead Hill. Mikaela and Charles celebrated their love just as they should — in a beautifully curated setting, surrounded by their nearest and dearest. Alyssa Meeks Events went above and beyond to produce a timeless design we won’t soon forget. Every moment was filled with exceptional beauty thanks to the flower-forward work of Maxit Flower Design. If you’re a summer bride-to-be, this wedding is for you! There’s so much to love about this fairytale day in the full gallery, artistically captured by Courtney Leigh Photography!

From Courtney Leigh Photography… From custom bars, custom signature cocktails named after the couple’s fur babies, a fully restored (by the bride’s father) Bronco as the get-away car that doubled as a photo-op throughout the wedding day, to timeless florals and details, to fine dining and nods to the family’s business – this wedding was one we will never forget! Mikaela and Charles were beaming with joy all day long and we can’t help but swoon over the linens, blooms and modern yet timeless design of their wedding day.

From the Bride… Charles and I really wanted our wedding weekend to be something our guests would always remember. We wanted each guest to come into the doors feeling welcomed and loved. I also wanted every detail to be well thought out and have a purpose. We never formally decided on colors but overtime realized that it turned out to be neutrals and whites with a pop of a beautiful light blue.

We knew that we wanted our wedding to be a weekend long experience for our wedding party, instead of just a day, which is why we were so excited to have our wedding at Arrowhead Hill (along with a million other reasons, including the family who owns it being the sweetest people, and yes we love family owned businesses); Arrowhead has the cutest cottages on the property for everyone to stay at during the weekend. We greeted each guest with a beautiful, detailed welcome box that incorporated our wedding colors, custom monogram and designs, along with our favorite sweets: chocolate chip cookies, Homemade Texas Trail-Mix, Homemade Popcorn, and a light blue emergency kit packed with all the necessities. Staying on the property allowed Charles, our dads, and his groomsmen to go skeet-shooting the day of the wedding while the girls were getting ready – it was the perfect activity for them!

There were a few special details that we knew we wanted to incorporate into our big day: our precious puppies, Honey & Ivory (White Lab and Golden Retriever), and my family’s business that my parents started from the ground up that has been in our life ever since I can remember: Aquamarine Pools. We created “The Honey & Ivory” cocktail, which was a blend of Honey, Lemonade and Whiskey topped with a Honey Stick Stirrer and the “The Aquapools” cocktail which was a Blue Patron Margarita, with a blue salt rim, topped with a custom Aquapools logo stirrer stick. We also made napkins with custom pictures of Honey & Ivory in watercolors. Charles and I met at Texas A&M so we knew he had to make an Aggie Grooms cake – Cakes by Gina went above and beyond for both of our cakes! My mom played in the worship band at our church growing up; needless to say, she loves music. She was so excited when it came to both of us choosing our band: Drywater Band. They did an amazing job, and even learned our First Dance Song “Touching Heaven” for Charles and I (we heard this song for the first time during a NeedtoBreathe and JohnnySwim concert near the same location he ended up proposing at just a year later). Drywater also learned two songs we wanted sung at our ceremony. One of the songs was “The Blessing” during communion; the words are so powerful and they learned it perfectly. This has been our prayer over the future of our family. It really made the ceremony personal and emotional!

A few things detail wise that I was most excited about was the dance floor, the escort wall, and the food. I had originally wanted a black and white checkered dance floor until our wedding planner, Alyssa, found a BLUE and white checkered dance floor – this was the most beautiful and exciting yes! Our escort wall was made of acrylic and placed in front of Arrowhead’s beautiful property so you could watch the sunset through the acrylic walls under the tent. Wolfgang Puck exceeded all expectations when it came to our catering. They made every detail so perfect and even went above and beyond when it came to customizing our final plates. The Hors d’Oeuvres consisted of Spago’s Signature Spicy Tuna Tartare in a Sesame Miso Cone (my favorite), Wagyu Carpaccio, Mini Beef Wellingtons, their famous Chicken Pot Pies and Vegetable Spring Rolls. The main dish consisted of a Roasted Filet and Main Crab Cake – it was perfect.

Finally, my dad allowed us to use his remodeled Bronco that he had been working on for a few years as our getaway car – this was my favorite car of his. He was so excited and made sure it was spotless and ready for the wedding weekend. It was so fun watching the guests take pictures in front of it upon their arrival as it was parked right in front of the chapel. Alyssa had the wonderful idea of decorating it with all the beautiful florals and a wreath that Maria from Maxit Flower Design hand crafted.

I am so thankful for my parents, Alyssa (our wedding planner), and every single vendor who made sure every detail came to life perfectly!

How to Perfect a Colorful Yet Understated Wedding Palette

Let’s be honest – we love a couple who isn’t afraid to be a little extra with their wedding palette. Sure, blush and green will always be a classic, but Nothing But Love Wedding and Events is proving to couples everywhere that colorful hues (done right) can totally stand the test of time. Today’s styled shoot at Brighton Abbey showcases a whimsical palette of coral, peach, yellow, pink, and blue hues. R Love Floral created lush yet understated blooms that will blow you away. Ready to see every last detail? Head to the full gallery – all taken by Heirloom Rose Photography!

From Heirloom Rose Photography… This editorial was inspired by all things color. Nothing But Love Wedding and Events and I had the goal to showcase a beautiful whimsical editorial with coral, peach, yellow, pink, and blues.

We wanted to create colorful wedding inspiration without being excessive. The table was beautifully adorned with some beautiful bright florals from R Love Florals, some of the flowers were some large luscious pink peonies!

Sherri from Monsherriink created a beautiful vellum menu that adds such romantic flair to the tablescape and as well some beautiful citrus place setting with vellum and calligraphy writing. We incorporated more color with some floral-infused signature drinks by HD Liquid Catering.

This followed by a statement cake placed alongside a pop of color with the coral velvet linen. Our beautiful model wore an exquisite and whimsical Beccar gown paired with some beautiful earrings from Haute Bride and a headpiece from Twigs and Honey.

A Quintessential Southern Affair With Old European Flair

This is the type of venue that will leave you feeling shook after finding out it’s not actually in some distant European countryside locale, but in fact right here in the States. Today’s gorgeous real wedding at Houston Oaks flawlessly combines southern charm with old world European flair. Belle Events planned every detail to perfection while Flower Power Productions created floral magic in a romantic palette of greenery, ivory, and hints of pink. See it all at the full gallery, captured by Mackenzie Reiter.

From Mackenzie ReiterThe fifteenth century French chapel that served as the backdrop of Caroline and Grant’s Houston nuptials bears a striking resemblance to their relationship: crafted with precision and built with love, brick by brick. The idyllic, old world chapel is second to the waters of the picturesque lake surrounding it. Mighty oaks adorned with the South’s signature Spanish Moss make Houston Oaks an all-around stunner–and the perfect locale for Caroline and Grant to say “I do.”

“The venue alone is breathtaking,” said Caroline, the bride. “As a couple, we love to spend our free time outdoors, but come from more traditional families. The French chapel hosted everything we valued in one space. The surrounding greenery, ivory, and hints of pink provided a color palette that completed the venue and provided an effortless and natural look that we desired. The oak trees surrounding the chapel made decorating easy.”

Time-honored European flair and two hundred year old oak trees complemented a contemporary yet enduring aesthetic. The bridal party led the charge with the ladies rocking sleek, fresh silhouettes in neutral tones and the gentlemen opting for dapper suits with grey skinny ties. The bride’s gown was an absolute show-stopper by Rime Arodaky. From Caroline: “Choosing my wedding dress was the easiest part of the whole planning experience. My dress has everything I want in a romantic outfit. Once I tried on the dress at Lovely Bride: Dallas, the poofs on the shoulders and the lace top provided me with a sophisticated look that I could not get married without.” Caroline’s delicate, floral hair pieces created an elegant finishing touch that every bride can appreciate. The ceremony kicked off with a reaction from her groom that every bride dreams about. Tears were shed, promises were made, and the greatest party of the year was all but promised to follow. Besides a stunning ceremony and wedding day fashion to remember, Grant and Caroline made their priorities for the day clear: No one would be bored. “The Grooves Band did an excellent job of keeping our dance floor packed and the energy high by playing some old school sing-a-longs,” said Caroline. “However, this did not cause anyone to miss the ice cream bar, requested by Grant, served will all the toppings available. Many guests brought their ice cream back to the dance floor to keep the dancing going. All of this was surrounded by fire pits and oak trees lit for the evening to create a romantic ambiance.”

When it comes to planning a COVID-19 affair, the bride and groom had this advice to offer: “Don’t get stuck with one vision of what your wedding day can be. Seek out someone to help you plan, or be open to advice and try something that you wouldn’t normally go for. The wedding day can end up being even better than what you originally planned.”

The bottom line? You can make it happen. A stunning fete can be yours–even in a global pandemic. “I think that people who are easy going, open to new ideas, and focused on their love for their future spouse will have the easiest time,” offered the bride. “I think that the best part about planning a wedding was the intimacy of the size of the wedding. Grant and I felt like the people present were individuals that we truly loved and we got to spend time with them at our reception.”

And one last thing–get a wedding planner! “Being paired with a person who can help you envision your day and take responsibility to ensure that it’s even better than you dreamed it, is worth every single dollar,” said Caroline. “Chelsea, from Belle Events, has blown us away. Grant and I truly did not feel stressed during our planning process.”

At the end of the day, Caroline and Grant would tell a wedding planning couple to trust the process and remember why you’re doing this. It’s about so much more than the wedding–it’s about the marriage.

“The reason that a couple gets married is their love for each other. It is not about the love of details such as decor, hair, makeup or the flowers. Being able to keep that mindset present makes for a very romantic day and brings about a wonderful realization of how true the commitment is to each other.”

Inspired By Francois Boucher’s “Triumph of Venus” This Editorial Is As Pretty As A Painting

This editorial is as pretty as a painting. Inspired by Francois Boucher’s “Triumph of Venus”, Glitter & Glue Weddings designed a day brimming with delicate details and velvety touches. Just one look and you’ll feel like you’ve fallen into a fairytale. Beautiful blooms by Lizzie Bees Flower Shoppe add to the romance and ethereal aesthetic. The elegance is artfully captured in the imagery by Stephanie Michelle Photography. Visit the full gallery for a closer look.

From Stephanie Michelle PhotographyOur stationery designer, Every Little Letter, beautifully hand sketched all of the illustrations. Each hand-made invitation was recessed with gold foil. The place cards were pressed with gold foil, as well.

Our florist, Lizzie Bees Flower Shoppe imported a lush variety of blooms from California notably koko loco, hellebores, cappuccino, quicksand, butterfly ranunculus, and spray roses. The result was overwhelmingly romantic.

The day came together beautifully from beginning to end. All of these elements combined with the stationery illustrations enable any designer to visualize a cohesive design from start to finish.

Love in Lilac: A Spring Editorial

Villa Antonia is nestled in the breathtaking Texas Hill Country and embodies the old-world charm of an Italian villa along with Texas views. This editorial designed by Drops of Honey Designs is the perfect combination of European elegance paired with bold color. Blooms by Lovelily Flowers in yellow, pink, purple, and pops of blue highlight the love and happiness of the day. Just one look at the artful imagery by Ashlen Sydney Photography is sure to put a smile on your face. Visit the full gallery to enjoy every last detail.

From Drops of Honey DesignsThis Editorial Series Shoot was inspired by the transition and life that Spring brings. The shoot design began after taking a site visit to the venue and stumbled upon this greenhouse that was being used for storage, but once housed plants when the venue belonged to a family that lived on site.

The yellow, pink, purple, and pops of blue color palette we primarily used in the flowers, tabletop items and stationery symbolized happiness, optimism, creativity, calmness, and inner peace, which we could all use and be inspired by after the year we’ve had.

Once I saw the various windows, light, and textures that lived within the space I knew we had to design our table around it, and allow for the other designs to be influenced by the colors we would use in the table design. We used blossoming branches throughout the shoot to symbolize new life blossoming and chose a colorful gown to tie the entire story together.
