Rustic Wedding With Pops Of Pink

Packed with a glittering punch, this rustic wedding is covered in some serious sparkle. And when the bride is an aspiring event designer, you know the party will be pin-worthy perfection down to every. last. detail. Combining creative DIY decor with florals from Charming Events, the venue shimmered in gold and popped in pink, and you can see ALL the prettiness unfold in the gallery by Haley Rinn Ringo!

From the Bride…After meeting Jeremy at the young age of 12, we quickly became the best of friends. We soon learned that there was more to this little friendship of ours and started dating our freshman year of high school. After being boyfriend and girlfriend for what seemed like an eternity….11 years to be exact, he finally proposed on the most beautiful day in December. This wedding has been a long time coming and to us was something that held so much meaning. There were a lot of things leading up to this point for us, our family and friends that we all needed a day filled with love, laughter and happiness. We wanted this day to be a day that everyone would remember and would leave filled with so much love in their hearts. Yes! This day was about Jeremy and I starting this journey together of creating our own family but it was also about everyone who was there.

When searching for a venue, I wanted something that felt very pure, something that was one with nature but also something with a bare canvas so I could really create the vision that I had in my head. We ended up choosing The Springs Events located in Poetry, Texas. It was so breathtaking with all the beautiful trees it’s surrounded by as well as the sweet deer that frequently take little strolls across the property! It was beyond beautiful and then the “Wedding in the Woods” idea was born! It was such a labor of love created by everyone around us and so for that I also found my self creating many little details, like the neon pink escort cards that I painted with watercolor and then hand wrote each persons name with calligraphy gold ink. I also created small hand painted tree trunk place markers that were at everyone’s seat. I wanted these to be little gifts of love that they could take home along with a little mason jar filled with my Mom’s famous homemade chocolate chip cookies. Our friends and family mean so much to us and we wanted them to really feel that.

I glittered just about everything you could glitter, I hand drew out our invitations with a mixture of print and scroll writing then had them printed by a local printer which I then tied each one with a hand dipped ombre’ muslin strip of cloth. The Cake topper as well was super fun! I was able to draw it out and then have a family friend cut it out of metal which I then of course gold gilded it! You can’t go wrong with gold! I made big humongous tissue paper flowers that would line the staircase and sorted through many old funny photos from over the years of Jeremy and I that were then attached to a chicken wire that hung at the entrance. My Mom and I made the wedding cakes.

Mostly all of our vendors were small local businesses, for instance our florist Alicia, she is a single mom who works a full time job and then comes home and works full time running Charming Events, a Flower and Event shop out of her home. We met a lovely lady Laurie. She is a stay at home mom who runs Pretty Little Plates, a vintage china rental company, out of her home. She is so sweet and has the most beautiful China I have ever seen. Our food we used a local restaurant, Chiloso, they serve delicious Mexican cuisine. Every one who works there is so awesome and was the perfect addition to the big day. Our Photographer Haley Ringo is a student who is about to graduate from The University of Texas where she will continue to live out her dream of capturing the most beautiful moments through her camera. We have since become great friends and she has been such a blessing to our lives.

With all that said I think it really added so much fun and even more meaning to our special day. It wasn’t just about how perfect the big day ended up but it was about the journey getting there that was half the fun. These are people that we probably wouldn’t have met other wise and so for that we are very thankful for their friendships as well as all the hard work they put into our special day. We will forever be grateful and thank you from the bottom of our hearts.

Intimate Ranch Wedding in Texas

I love seeing how couples incorporate personal details to make their day that much more special to them. A beautiful showing of sentimental value is this next cute, country wedding set at The Spur, the family ranch, and decorated by Wolfe Florist (aka the mother of the groom). The heartwarming celebration had priceless details that made the day truly unforgettable, and you can see all the treasured memories, from Jared Tseng Photography, here.

From The Bride…Since we lived far away from our family and friends, and because of Jeremy’s service in the Army, we really wanted to incorporate a lot of personal touches to our wedding weekend. We wanted it to be a relaxing time for everyone who traveled to Waco since we had guests coming from Ireland, England and all over the US. We saw this as an opportunity for our families and closest friends to meet and blend.

We decided to have our ceremony and reception at Jeremy’s parents Ranch, The Spur, because it has always been a relaxing getaway for us and a beautiful sight to see. We used antique silver and china from both sides of the family to include some of the loved ones who couldn’t be with us on our wedding day. Our theme was sort of a like a country garden party. We didn’t want to overdue the ranch theme or be too “matchy-matchy”. I used my grandmother’s rosary on my bouquet, and wore my mother’s pearls. Jeremy’s Father became an ordained minister before the wedding, so he married us under the pecan wood arch he built and surprised both sides of the family. It was really special. Jeremy’s mom was our florist with the help of family and bridesmaids the night before. We put together lavender sachets for guests to throw as we came up the aisle as Mr. and Mrs.. Jeremy’s grandfather created our new initials out of wood, which hung behind us at dinner. We did a lot of antiquing in Texas and DIY-d chalkboard signs, table numbers, hay seating and lighting décor. One of my bridesmaids painted a tree for guests to sign and stamp. For the unity part of the ceremony, we watered a potted tree to symbolize our growing love that we will continue to nurture.

We are such foodies, so we really wanted to make sure all of the food served on the wedding day and at the rehearsal dinner was local and consciously raised. I arrived to the ceremony, and we left in Jeremy’s grandfathers 1940’s Ford that he restored himself. Jeremy’s father came up with the brilliant idea to serve beer in the bucket of the tractor, which was pulled up next to the original 1900’s barn, turned bar for the reception. We built a couch lounge out of hay for guests to sit on and sip margaritas while enjoying the lawn games put out for cocktail hour. Guests enjoyed s’mores after cake and tons of dancing before the night was over. Both our mother’s were so wonderful to pick up on all the small details leading up to the big day. Our wedding couldn’t have been the most perfect day of our lives without our family and friends to be there and for all of their help. We have never felt so loved.

From Two Times PhotographyThis Spring wedding was set at a ranch in Wimberley, TX. The family of the bride and groom, the bridesmaids, and the groomsmen all stayed on site throughout the weekend. The rustic and homey feel of Red Corral Ranch made it a comfortable and inviting event! Grey, peach, and yellow were prevalent throughout the event – as was burlap! From the overcast sky to the lights hanging in the barn, Brandi and Colton’s wedding was romantic. With a photo booth, a game of “cornhole”, and lots of dancing, this wedding was fun for everyone involved! The love that Brandi, Colton, and their families share made this such a joyous weekend!

Whimsical Pink Wedding in Austin

When weddings like this come along, I thank my lucky stars for vendors like Bird Dog Wedding who make planning impossibly chic events look easy. They worked with one darling couple who opted for Southern style on their own terms, and Julie Cate’s camera didn’t miss a beat. Settle into page upon page of pin-able goodness right here.

From The Bride…Ted and I met when we were both working at a bookstore here in Austin. I had just moved back home after college in New York, and Ted had managed to work his way down here from Fargo via Minneapolis. Needless to say, we’re both total nerds and revel in finding that other person who effortlessly “gets” your weirdness.

Everyone says your wedding is your day, all about you. But we both knew that probably the biggest reason we were throwing this party was for our family and friends. So throughout the entire planning process, we tried to keep our wedding party and guests very much in mind.

The venue was perfect. I knew I wanted an outdoor wedding, which in Texas means any time except summer pretty much. The Lady Bird Johnson Wildflower Center in March is as lovely as it gets. (My “something blue” was a pressed bluebonnet in my shoe.) Somehow, it had rained every weekend in March and then for our wedding it was absolutely gorgeous. We had guests from places as cold as Minneapolis, Massachusetts and even Iceland ready to move down here :)

With my bridesmaids, I wanted them to feel beautiful so I just gave them a color palette, and I was really happy with the result. Ted’s dad runs the men’s clothing store that’s been their family business for about 100 years, so he generously helped out a lot of the groomsmen with their suits.

When I started planning, I made one Pinterest board (naturally), but as I delved deep into the world of wedding blogs, I found I had to create a spinoff board just for all the florals. Flowers, flowers, flowers, all the time. My uncle, an award-winning pastry chef, made the wedding cake, and even though he’s so talented and could do anything, I made him just do white fondant so I could decorate the cake with flowers.

Luckily, I found Bird Dog Weddings. From our first meeting, I knew Emily had the same vision that I did and it was such a relief to just let her and Sarah do their thing and know it would turn out perfect. And they didn’t call me crazy when I gave them a list of flowers I didn’t want to use based on their Victorian meanings, haha (sorry anemones).

And Julie, our photographer, was such a delight. I wasn’t even going to send her a query because she was based in Florida, but I just loved her photography that I had seen online so I figured I might as well just in case. But she was happy to travel to Austin and was so sweet that she just put all of her subjects at ease and made them look wonderful.

When everything came together, it was even better than I had imagined. You can plan and plan and plan, you can attend millions of other weddings, but there’s really no way to prepare for the sheer joy of marrying the person you love.

From The Bride…Reid and I met the old-fashioned way– online! My college roommate had met her now-fiance’ online a few years ago, and as a result she had a prepaid match.com account sitting unused. She put it back to work by changing all the profile information to mine! She told me to log on and start using it, since I’d be getting messages whether I liked it or not. A few emails from Reid and a single date with him later, my online dating career came to a quick end. A year and one cat later, Reid asked me to marry him standing in the Cervantes Rose Garden in Barcelona. We’re now happily planning a summer celebration with our family and friends next Memorial Day weekend! Our engagement shoot was inspired by the same themes we’re involving as we plan our wedding– a fresh take on classic with romantic, lush, garden vibes and saturated colors.

From the Bride…James and I met during our first year of medical school in Lubbock, Texas and started dating two years later. Living in Lubbock was such an important time in both of our lives that we knew there was no better place to get married. We spent 7 months planning our wedding while interviewing and applying for residency positions across the United States. Because of the difficult process of “Matching” into residency, we were not sure if we would be living in the same city, let alone the same state, once we were married. It was a bit stressful. Regardless, we wanted our wedding day to be a celebration of the love that we have for each other and our family and friends.

We found the Kent R. Hance Chapel to be intimate with a sense of elegance that set the mood for the evening. We also wanted the ceremony to be fun, in matching with our personalities. Our sign in “book” was a wooden Texas (we’re moving to Georgia and wanted to take a piece of Texas with us.) My Daddy and I fist bumped before he gave me away, and James and I walked out to “You’ve Got What I Need” by Freddie Scott.

The reception was located at the Watson Building with beautiful hardwood floors and tall ceilings.
We had 3-foot diameter balloons floating high above the tables with ivory ribbon hanging down. This was definitely my favorite touch to our decorations. Lou Dee’s Floral also created gorgeous arrangements with champagne, blush, raspberry and gold colors in both the reception and ceremony spaces.

The evening was spent out on the dance floor, and enjoying laughter and love with our friends and family. It could not have been any better. Most of all, the best part is we’re now married and get to spend the rest of our lives together!

Shipwrecked Seaside Wedding Inspiration

If ever there were a fairy tale by the sea, this would be it. Inspired by a washed ashore mermaid bride and a handsome shipwrecked groom, every inch of this sandy shoot is covered in a laid back beach-y vibe fit for seaside lovers. Tamara Menges Designs‘ wild florals float with the wind and Jen Rios Weddings pulled every pretty touch together seamlessly. Drift away in all the romance here.

From Archetype StudioThe inspiration started with a vision of a handsome “shipwrecked” Groom who elopes with a stunning mystical mermaid. We wanted to evoke a sense of romance mixed with classical beach elements. Our tablescape was set on an antique chest that may have washed ashore with our mermaid bride. We created a gorgeous floral runner with shells and a silvery fish net mixed in. The place settings were a mix of old and new – the plates from Anthropologie that resembled the inside of an oyster shells and vintage flatware and glassware that could have perhaps been found in the chest with other treasures. Our Bride and Groom announced their nuptials by sending their loved ones a message in a bottle and inviting them to a reception later in the year to celebrate. Our mermaid bride wore a gorgeous Enaura gown with sparkly scallop detail evoking a similar pattern to a mermaid’s tail. Her long flowing hair and glistening skin was perfectly styled to give her that fairy tale look.

Sweet Backyard Wedding in Austin, Texas

This must have been the most lovely day. Simple yet incredibly sweet, every gorgeous image from J. Bird Photography paints the picture of a simply perfect day. A day filled with so much love you know this couple and their guests will never stop talking about every magical moment, and you can see why here.

From J. Bird PhotographyThis wedding is probably one of my favorites to date with a precious couple, simple but gorgeous details, and a custom made wedding dress that was designed by the bride herself.

From The Bride…The inspiration behind our wedding came from a focus on things I have always loved and to keep things simple and natural. Our hope was to have a pretty day that centered around the celebration of our marriage and a great party with our friends and family, but no sweat over tons of details! Ryan and I love to be outside so having an outdoor ceremony was a no brainer. My parents backyard has always been a peaceful place to me and I couldn’t imagine anything sweeter than having the ceremony there. It is also located very close to a beautiful field that I spent much of life walking through to get to my favorite pool (Barton Springs) and stopping to enjoy the green and the trees with my sister as we grew up and have now shared it with Ryan. We just love it and that is where we took the pictures after the ceremony. My dad built the alter at our wedding which was so special and my friend Kortni (our florist) covered it with simple greenery and flowers. Potted flowers and herbs are some of my favorite things and I included those throughout the decor as well— and now they adorn our front porch! The reception was located at the Palm Door which I have always admired for it’s blank white wooden walls and wood floors. I already had a bunch of old vases and metal tins that we used for the flowers along with a few we borrowed from friends and family. My florist (Kortni) is a good friend of mine and we had so much fun dreaming up whites and greens and simple arrangements— the kind you might find on your kitchen table after going to the grocery store, nothing too over the top, but still simple and sweet. I love how light and airy the flowers were as well as the tiny greenery Kortni hung from the rafters— so perfect!

As for the dress and grooms attire, we had the same kind of theme. I didn’t want anything too fancy, but I still wanted it to feel wedding-like. Ryan wore a grey suit and his groomsmen wore different combinations of vests, ties, greys, navies, etc. We liked the casual look and it corresponded well with our bridesmaids attire. I told my bridesmaids they could pick whatever color dress they wanted as long as it was a soft color an they all ended up in pale pinks! Which turned out great— they all looked beautiful! I had my dress made by a talented lady here in Austin. I’ve always been the kind of person that has a picture in their head and can’t ever find it in real life, so I told her what I wanted and she executed it beautifully! I had gotten a dress at a garage sale and had fallen in love with the neckline so that’s where we started— the rest was in my head. I also liked the idea of having an off-white but not a ivory off-white so we went with a hint of dove-grey and a white lace bodice.

DIY Backyard Texas Wedding

I want to squeeze this wedding it’s so darling. It’s charming yet gorgeous, with so much heart I can feel the love through every gorgeous image snapped up by Luxe Photography. The result is a wedding that will probably dance in my dreams for some time now, and trust me, I have no complaints. See why here.

From The Bride…Chris and I met on my 22nd birthday at my parents house. The story of how we met is something we still laugh about today. Chris owns a computer/internet company in Brady, Tx. My parents were new to town, and called his company to have internet installed into their new home. I was living in Dallas at the time, and was only there to help them get settled and celebrate my birthday with family. Chris and his brother came to set everything up, and throughout the day my dad had been hinting at me that he thought Chris was handsome and I should “make a move”. I would roll my eyes, exclaim “Dad, he’s gross!”, and ignore him. It was probably a 100 degrees that day and Chris was covered in sweat and dirt.. and I was not interested. Towards the end of the day, Chris was wrapping up his work and about to leave when my parents told me they had invited him to my party that night. I was embarrassed, and fairly annoyed, when they insisted I go outside and invite him myself. Reluctantly, I went outside to tell him he should come to the party. He told me no a couple of times saying he didn’t want to impose- I reassured him it was fine, so he agreed. That evening, a very attractive man walks around the corner of the house and knocked on the door. Chris cleaned up very nice, and I was quite taken with him. The rest, truly is history!

After two years of dating, Chris proposed and we started the adventure of planning a wedding. I like to work with my hands and tend to love the DIY wedding, and details- so from the beginning I knew that’s what I wanted to do. Chris and I both wanted our guests to feel comfortable and enjoy the day just as we would. At first our guest list was quite large for us, at about 140 people. After much evaluation and hiccups in our planning, we decided the best route was a family oriented wedding in my parents backyard; the very place we met.

Chris’s family owns a ranch just north of town, and Chris really wanted to have the ceremony out there. The property sits up high, offering a beautiful view of the stretching country side. It was lovely and so sentimental!

Chris’s mom placed an order at an Austin flower market, and drove the flowers 2 hours to Brady. With the help of my Maid of Honor and Bridesmaid, we created the bouquets, bouts, centerpieces and all of the decor the day before the wedding. I could not have been more pleased with the result, they turned out romantic, soft, and exactly what I envisioned! For the cake/dessert table, I wanted something that was homemade, and fun! My mother-in-law made my wedding cake and cupcakes, and my Aunt Beth brought the Texas Tech cake from a bakery in Denton, Tx. I made the programs myself with Photoshop, and printed them out at home!

The whole day went exactly as planned. We wouldn’t have chosen any other way to share our day with our loved ones. The only vendors we hired were the caterer and a photographer. Above everything else, we wanted to come out of the wedding with amazing pictures that we could look back on and cherish for years. We couldn’t have picked someone better! Jennifer from Luxe Photography was utterly amazing, and she captured our day more beautifully than we could have imagined!

Garden Party Inspired Bridal Shoot

We’re certainly no strangers to a good garden party, but when all that elegance and whimsy is taken indoors, we’re bound to be smitten. Think sequin tablecloths and cross back chairs, overflowing blooms and clusters of candles. It’s all styled to perfection by Bows & Arrows and Stefanie Miles, and lucky for us Heather Hawkins snapped up every yummy bit. More right here.

From Heather Hawkins Photography… This shoot was a lovely collaboration between the team of Heather Hawkins, Stefanie Miles, Bows & Arrows and a few other amazing talents, and may just inspire you to throw a garden party of your own!

The gorgeous natural light and lightly colored interiors allowed us to bring the outdoors in, without compromising the natural and organic elements we desired for this visual story. The historic building held the celebration, and provided ample opportunities for wistful and charming portraits to capture the radiance of the bride. We always recommend thinking carefully about venue selection, as it is so important to creating the atmosphere for the celebration!

We wanted to create a lush, romantic and dreamy atmosphere for a elegant celebration, and did so using a colorful mix of loosely arranged florals in various tones of blush, peach, cream, salmon, and pink. The addition of antique brass candlesticks antique silver flatware added warmth and character, while the clean-lined blush plates kept the scene fresh and modern.

The bride wore gowns by Reem Acra, Monique Lhuillier, and Oscar de la Renta. Two bouquets were designed, one made of hellebores, olive leaf, patience garden rose, sweet pea and the other of sword fern, jasmine vine, poppies, peony, peach juliet garden rose, charity garden rose, miranda garden rose, ranunculus, sweet pea, anemone, hellebores, and scented geranium.

From Sara & Rocky PhotographyJenna and Rockett were married at the Dallas Arboretum in April in their beautiful gardens! They are both creatives themselves, so they designed their own wedding to be exactly what they envisioned. The colors, floral, and setting were romantic and eclectic. They made their own invitations, used their “Rockett” marquee letters out of their own office as their cake backdrop, and a friend did all of the floral. The weather was absolutely perfect for an outdoor ceremony and reception, it was gorgeous!

Rustic Chic Farm Wedding in Sulphur Springs, Texas

I can only imagine the moment this Bride and Groom first opened these gorgeous images from Feather & Twine Photography. I am sure they shed a happy tear or two, because these images tell the beautiful story of their picture perfect (and super personal) day on the Bride’s family farm. It’s a day I am sure all their guests still talk about today, and you can see all the reasons why right here.

From the Bride...When I was just 16 years old my Mom and Dad came to be the proud new owners of a wild, undeveloped piece of property near Sulphur Springs, Texas. We could only access a small fraction of the property by vehicle and had to explore the rest by foot. The land was overgrown by vines with thorns, trees with thorns, bushes with thorns, weeds with thorns, and just about every creature of wildlife you could imagine would live in East Texas – all breeds of birds, deer, skunks, armadillos, snakes, insects with varieties of bites and stings; it was a rugged piece of land, but it was our piece of the country. We spent our weeks in Rockwall working and attending school, but we spent our weekends in Sulphur Springs. My mom and dad, my younger brother and myself devoted our blood, sweat and tears to that land until it started to look habitable. Roads were laid, creeks were bridged, lakes were dammed, and that little piece of untamed wildlife became our haven where we spent quality time around the campfire, on horseback, and simply being together as a family. It wasn’t long before Mom and I were discussing the idea of hosting my fictitious wedding at their new home in Sulphur Springs – the Running Six Ranch.

Six years later while in college at the University of North Texas, I met Max Buck. He and I were both music majors – he played double bass and I played clarinet. We were in the same band for many semesters before we spoke to one another, but I had always noticed the red headed fireman playing bass from across the room. We were performing a concert one fall night in 2009. As the members of our ensemble were headed out to the stage, I dropped every last page of my music on the floor. It was a huge mess and I was panicking, but Max the fireman came to my rescue. He stopped to help me gather my things, we hurried through a brief introduction, and then we were rushed on to the stage to begin our concert. It was several weeks after that before we spoke again. When Max stopped me during rehearsal one day and asked for my phone number, I was giddy with excitement. I gave him my number and we agreed to meet for dinner the next night. After our first date it was once again several weeks before I spoke with Max. Something about this prolonged period of absence drew me to him, and I was still interested when he finally called me back. After that, we saw each other as often as we could. We had only been together a short six months when he left to pursue his Masters at the University of Maryland in the spring of 2010 after we both graduated with our bachelor degrees from UNT. Soon after Max left the state to further his education, I accepted a job in Lubbock, Texas teaching his school band. We were worlds apart it seemed, but were bound and determined to make our relationship last. After two and half years of long distance phone calls and flights, I accepted a job in the Dallas area and moved back home. After only having been there a few months, Max surprised me with an impromptu visit, a nice dinner in the city and a walk by the lake. At the water’s edge he took a knee and asked for my hand in marriage on August 25th, 2012 – this day would have been my grandparents’ 50th wedding anniversary. Max moved back to Texas in December of that same year, and we started planning the dream wedding at my parentsâ?? home in Sulphur Springs.

The property was now home to horses, donkeys, cats, dogs, a beautiful horse barn and my parents’ new house. It had become a beautiful haven in East Texas. Though we had a long engagement it seemed as if the months flew by, and May 3, 2014 was here before we knew it.

The wedding day couldn’t have been more perfect! After a year and a half of planning, the Running Six Ranch was transformed into a fairytale for an evening of celebration, love, laughter, music, good times, friends and family. Our friends and relatives from around the country gathered in our small piece of paradise to celebrate the beginning our marriage. It truly was, and still is, a dream come true.

Lakeside Dallas Wedding at The Filter Building

Sweet and stylish, this Dallas wedding at The Filter Building really has it all. It has the details that will make you drool, and the sentimental moments that will make you swoon. And thanks to Nicole Berrett Photography you can devour every gorgeous moment here.

From the Bride…My wedding day was dreamy and calm. I know ‘calm’ seems like a strange choice, but, after ten months of organizing and crafting, there wasn’t much left to worry about. As exciting as all the planning and prep was for the big day, when it arrived, I just wanted to get married and celebrate with my friends and family! Luckily, the weather was beautiful that day and that’s exactly what we were able to do. We had a quick ceremony out by the lake, officiated by my dad, then we went inside for food, drinks and lots of dancing!

My husband and I love running around White Rock Lake. We trained for our first half-marathon at White Rock, so the whole trail was inspiring for a wedding. Our venue in particular, The Filter Building, had the perfect 1920s style and lake views I was looking for. Once we got engaged I was prepared to schedule everything around The Filter Building’s availability.

My dress had a unique vintage vibe that I thought would stand out against the industrial backdrop. I’d been stalking some Tadashi Shoji styles online and sure enough, BHLDN added my favorite pick to their latest line of wedding dresses. I was obsessed. The details were lovely and the price was right. My earrings were borrowed from my mother, who shares my love of yellow gold.

Spring also meant all my favorite florals would be in season, including a blueish teal flower called Sea Holly. My florist made that recommendation very early on and they were stunning! I ordered floral pieces for every table, the bar, the cake, my head and our wedding arch and I don’t regret it. Flowers just make me so happy! I also got really into ferns while planning. They’re just so geometric and charismatic for a plant. Who can resist?

I’m extremely proud of my grandpa’s contribution of hand-crafted table numbers and a cake topper. At 85 years old he still creates amazing things out of wood! And, as a bonus, I’ll be able to decorate our future home with these wooden accents. I can’t wait to show them off a bit more. I hand addressed all of our invitations and Save-the-Date envelopes. The escort cards were also my doing. I wasn’t great at hand-lettering before, and still don’t quite have it down, but it was a fun way to save money and finish some crafts on my own. We also recycled some of our unloved vinyl records to use as our guest book. The groomsmen’s bow ties and the bridesmaids’ earrings were an Etsy find.

I owe so much credit to my ‘dream team’ of artists, photographers, florists, musicians, DJs, caterers and all around wedding pros!

Garden Glam Styled Shoot

We’ve had a gorgeous day on the LBB blog, there’s no doubt about that. But it’s not over, not by a long shot. If Ben Q. PhotographyEbony Peoples Events & DesignSugar Bee Sweets and The Southern Table have anything to do with it, we’ll be gazing for hours to come. They’ve turned our garden wedding dreams into a work of art with this breathtaking shoot. A touch of glam here and a pretty bloom there, this one is a doozy darlings.

From Ebony PeoplesSpringtime in Dallas is backdrop for an outdoor wedding celebration. I recently teamed up with a talented group of Dallas wedding professionals to create a Garden Glam styled wedding shoot. As wedding professionals, we are hired to assist clients in creating the wedding of their dreams. This styled shoot gave us an opportunity to spread our creative wings and share a bit of inspiration to couples planning an outdoor wedding. We selected a color palette that included peach, shades of pink and red, and metallic gold. These colors perfectly complemented the natural outdoor elements in the garden at Marie Gabrielle. Our goal was to include lots of detail that were a bit outside of the norm including a farm table, candied apple place cards, and a garden soil ceremony.

Our Garden Glam styled wedding shoot took place on a perfect spring Dallas day! The husband and wife duo behind Ben Q. Photography were on hand to capture all of the details with film photography! Ducky Bob’s provided our farm table and the elegant gold tabletop dinnerware. The Southern Table did an amazing job with creating our floral decor using lush springtime blooms! The Bee’s Knees designed all of our wedding stationery, including rhinestone embellished invitations. Sugar Bee Sweets created a beautiful floral adorned, iced wedding cake! Binzario provided a jaw-dropping, couture bridal gown with lots of intricate detail. Marilona Makeovers and hairstylist, Ashley Bristo, were on hand to ensure that our bride looked absolutely stunning! Nails by Avonne provided a manicure for our bride complete with a chic, lace overlay! De’Ana Davis and Kelvin Wilson acted as our model bride and groom for the day!

From the Bride… My husband and I met at a club in Dallas Texas called Glass (which is unusual because neither of us frequent clubs!) He had just moved back to Texas from North Carolina where he had finished up his Master’s at Duke University. I had graduated from Southern Methodist University and was working in Oil and Gas. We hit it off right away and got engaged soon after in New York City under the Christmas tree at Rockefeller Center.

We then went to Niagara Falls (one of my favorite places) and Toronto to meet his family. For our ceremony we had a traditional Chinese Tea Ceremony where we honored our parents and relatives by serving them tea. We also had a traditional Christian ceremony at Park Cities Presbyterian Church as well- I absolutely love the stained glass windows of the church and the beautiful memories it carries for me.

I picked the Dallas Arboretum because I loved the flowers, rustic charm and scenic views of the lake and the Dallas skyline. It was absolutely perfect weather in November and we danced the night away under the stars. I had spent time making sure there were a lot of personal details including plenty of Etsy purchases!

The flowers had lots of green and white in them with touches of red and most of the decor was DIY’d by myself and my mother or purchased from Etsy. My dresses I actually bought preowned- the Aimee Atelier dress I found on preownedweddingdresses.com from a bride in New Zealand and the J Mendel dress I found for $150 dollars on Ebay. I tailored them to be unique just for me and felt awesome in them. All the little details really made the day special but the most important part of the day was the love and joy that surrounded us as we celebrated with our family and friends.
