Romantic Pastel Copper Inspiration Shoot

If you were to ask me what my daydreams looked like, I’d instantly show you this exact shoot from Kayla Barker. Overflowing with heavenly blush blooms by The Southern Table and copper accented Southern Fried Paper, it’s metallic minded pastel perfection. So if you’ll excuse me, I’ll be in this gallery for the rest of time.

From Maxine of The Southern TableFor this inspirational shoot, we wanted to create a soft, feminine garden feel. The historic Aldredge House was the perfect setting to put together this team of great vendors. We chose to feature romantic tones of blush, whites, and peaches, paired with classic white marble and copper elements. Southern Fried Paper’s gorgeously refined invitation suite with copper letterpress set the tone for an elegant evening.

Our stunning model, Gabrielle, was glowing with upswept hair and natural makeup by Ladonna Stein, and so ethereal in BHLDN’s Vivienne gown. This Catherine Deane dress, which is the most delicate shade of pale grey, was a perfect compliment to the beautiful white and grey marble vases in the table scape. Here, we chose soft garden roses, dahlias, ranunculus, anemones and astilbe to pop against classic white linens and modern ghost chairs.

Overall, we think the effect create a light and airy look and a sense of subtle sophistication. The finishing touch was the gorgeous hexagon cake with classic white fondant by Layered Bake Shop, displayed on a white marble stand. Kayla Barker captured all the magic perfectly and will definitely inspire brides with her stunning images.

From the Bride… What happens when an art director marries a museum exhibit fabricator? A creativity explosion (with no off switch).

Projects aside, when planning our wedding, we were going for a feeling and a vibe. We wanted our wedding to be a reflection of our relationship and life together – which is chock full of fun, lots of laughter and never losing sight of the little things.

We found Luckenbach while on a family vacation in Austin (before we were engaged). It’s a magical place that has a “leave your worries at the door” attitude and at its core – it’s all about the music. And since Jason and I are both big music nerds – it was love at first sight.

But unbeknownst to me – it was also where Jason asked my parents for their blessing. And two months later, it found its way into his proposal. Inspired by an old saloon sign at Luckenbach, he constructed 4ft x 4ft western wooden letters that read: “Will you marry me?” Our friends and family held up the letters at GasWorks Park in Seattle and he proposed to me across the lake from a WWII periscope in the MOAHI Museum. I knew at that moment, I had a keeper.

Afterwards, when we first started to discuss where we should have our wedding – I threw out the idea of doing it in Luckenbach and he was immediately on board. We didn’t have a back-up plan, so fortunately we were able to make that happen.

Music has played a large role in our relationship from the beginning, so getting married at music venue made perfect sense. We sprinkled in lots of special song references and music inspired décor and mixed it with a touch of southwestern charm (a nod to Jason’s Native American roots).

Jason and I spent a year and a half slowly making all the decor, signage, stationery, etc. and had a blast doing it. I was the creative brains behind the projects and he was the producer/fabricator/perfector.

Together we hand-sculpted clay longhorn skull magnets for the escort tags and favors, painted vinyl records to use as charger plates, wrapped and dyed dream catchers out of embroidery rings, made feather boutonnieres for the guys, hand-tied arrows for the backs of the ceremony chairs, built and painted table numbers to match the proposal letters, created various wooden signage, designed and assembled fan programs that looked like 7” records, created and glued menus, designed a music soundtrack comprised of special songs from the big day (which also looked like vinyl records)… and the list goes on. But probably the biggest highlight/accomplishment was the giant Lite-Brite arbor that we created that spelled out the words: We Do. It consisted of 1700 vintage Lite-Brite pegs and was turned on (via a remote held by our officiate) after we said our vows.

We packed all of this décor in a crate, including the ‘marry me’ letters from the proposal and shipped it down to Texas. We met the truck in Luckenbach to unload it, just five days before the wedding.

The wedding party and guests stayed at the amazing Hangar Hotel in Fredericksburg, TX. It’s a WWII era themed hotel (which happened to be a perfect tie-in from our periscope proposal) and is on an active runway. We shuttled our guests via a school bus to Luckenbach.

Our ceremony was amazing and so much fun. The Lost Pines performed all the music live, and did it so beautifully. After a few readings from our family members, Jason’s brother played an original song he wrote to us on his flute. Then during our vows, two of the Lost Pines band members stood beside Jason and I and sang a duet “Cause I Love you” by Johnny and June Carter Cash, while Jason and I quietly sang the words to each other. Afterwards, we said our vows (with a few personal lines to each other sprinkled in). Once we were introduced as husband and wife and the Lite Brite was clicked on, we asked our guests to open up a scroll that they picked up on their way to their seat. The band then led everyone in a surprise sing-a-long of “The Way You Make Me Feel” by Michael Jackson. Once everyone got into it, we headed down the aisle.

The cocktail hour was full of fun things to do. We had a live Longhorn for our guests to climb on and get pictures. We had the talented David Harris (host of the daily Luckenbach picker circles) singing with his acoustic guitar. And we had the funny and quirky QuickDraw Photo Booth getting everyone in the laughing mood. Basically, the guests got in the photo booth and he snapped three pictures then “developed them” by hand-sketching them in three minutes and then slid the strip out the photo slot all while being in character as a crazy cowboy. And finally, we also had a mini polaroid guest book where we asked our guests to snap photos of themselves and leave us a little note.

Once cocktail hour was over, we entered the reception to David appropriately singing “Luckenbach, Texas.” Then after an amazing dinner from the Salt Lick BBQ and dessert- we got out on the dance floor and had our first dance. It was to a song that David actually introduced to us when we met him during a wedding planning trip to Luckenbach a year earlier. It gave us both chills when he played it and described our relationship perfectly. So we later approached him to sing it at our wedding and he obliged. It’s a song written by Hank Williams called, “I’m So Happy I Found You.”

After the father and mother dances, The Lost Pines gave all of our guests (none of which were from Texas) a two-step lesson to get them warmed up. We then spent the next three hours singing and dancing the night away. And at one point, Jason even jumped on stage with the band and serenaded me with “Hey Good Lookin’.” A song he has been singing to me since we first met.

We left the reception with a sparkler send-off and hopped into the back of a vintage truck. All in all – it was by far, the best day of our lives. And according to our friends and family, it was a day they will never forget either. A friend of ours even created a hashtag to document the wedding and it took on a life of its own. Someday we hope to get the “band” back together and have a reunion tour. #Lucasbach

Dinosaur Valley State Park Engagement Session

This stunning Bride-to-be is a girl after my own heart. Donning the chicest couture with a love for a gorgeous al fresco setting, her and her hubs-to-be were meant for the camera, specifically Feather & Twine‘s lens. Their love shines through in the most genuine way and it’s infectious. See what I mean in the full gallery.

From the beautiful Bride…Michael and I are lovers of all things outdoors and fashion, so when it came time to planning our engagement session, we were over the moon. For months all I could think about was pairing outfits and finding the perfect location. A month leading up to the engagement shoot, I even had a nightmare that I was trapped in a 3-story Free People. The horrors! When it came to finding an outdoor location, we wanted something to showcase the beautiful fall colors. When our photographer, Feather and Twine suggested Dinosaur Valley State Park, we were so excited to have a location with such a diverse landscape. Needless to say, we really enjoyed ourselves and I believe the photos truly capture our love for one another.

From Mint PhotographyEmily and Kenton’s wedding was extra special :) Their ceremony was held lakeside at their family’s own lake home. It was sweet and intimate and we couldn’t have been more happy to capture these beautiful memories for them. Their wedding was even more special and unique by the generosity of their friends who played big parts in the decor for the day! Emily’s friend did all of her florals and a friend of the couples created their gorgeous naked cake for them! We loved the soft tones and natural look of the whole day!

Texas Family Ranch Engagement Session

We can always count on Feather & Twine Photography to deliver the prettiest snaps of love, and today’s adorable e-sesh is heavily rooted to this couple’s most-loved place: home. As a fifth generation farmer and professional barrel racer, these two cuties slipped on the cowgirl boots and jeans and the result is Southwestern love like no other.

From the beautiful Bride…As soon as we got engaged, my fiancé and I both knew we wanted to have our engagement photos done on his family’s cattle ranch. He’s a fifth generation farmer and rancher and I’m a professional barrel racer, so there is nothing we love more than the natural beauty of the North Texas ranch where we plan to make our home. Between the vintage 1959 Chevy pickup, the old tin barn, and the sprawling grassland where you can see for miles and miles, we felt like Kelsey did an incredible job capturing our love in the place that we love most.

Jason Kennedy & Lauren Scruggs’ Dallas Ballroom Wedding

When we got a look inside Jason Kennedy and Lauren Scruggs’ LA engagement sesh, I was convinced it couldn’t get any better. But then the crazy talented Kat Harris and Lindsey Shea sent along their wedding, and I instantly changed my tune. It’s a day filled with deeply personal moments and out-of-this-world design by Todd Events, and you can grab a front-row seat in the gallery right here.

From Kat Harris PhotographyWhen I think of Lauren and Jason I think of depth, authenticity, laughter, and power. What is amazing about their love is that individually they both have passion to be a positive voice in our culture, and together the power they have to be leaders in our world is endless. (Not to mention their love is completely infectious!)

Their wedding day was flawless. Surrounded by their family and community they celebrated what God has done in their lives, and their journey towards forever. Lauren was so full of peace and so grounded that day, and Jason is always a ball of energy and such a light.

Their ceremony was intimate and tears and laughter brought their announcement of husband and wife. Todd Events created an effortless winter chic vibe, and to say there was an epic dance party is an understatement. Jason and Lauren you two are gems. You bring such light to our world, and we are so excited for your lives to unfold!

Elegant Peach Dallas Wedding

With Georgia and Virginia as their home states, this couple wanted nothing more than to infuse their Southern roots into their wedding day, and elegantly so they did. Branching Out crafted beautiful peach and magnolia foliage centerpieces, while bridesmaids wore full-length champagne Jenny Yoo dresses and the stunning Bride in a lacy Essence Of Australia gown, paired with a perfect chignonSarah Kate captured every moment and you can see them all right here.

[iframe http://player.vimeo.com/video/97133569 600 338]

From the beautiful Bride…Magnolias in May-the mindset I had when planning our special day. My husband is from Georgia and my family is from Virginia so I really wanted our wedding to reflect our Southern roots. One of the best words of wisdom we had prior to our big day was to truly savor every moment, which is why we tried to truly embrace all the special moments of our day.

My husband and I chose not to do a first look, however I embraced that modern tradition and did a first look with my daddy (Pops). It was a moment full of joyful tears and our sweet photographer Sarah Kate had to stop numerous times for me to get it together for photos. I couldn’t look at Pops without becoming a blubbery mess, our bond is truly one of a kind.

My husband and I have alternated planning surprise date nights every week nicknamed Hot Tuesday ever since our very first date. It was such a fun way to explore our new city [Dallas] and motivated us to plan fun dates around the city. I fell in love with Ross through all the surprises and so I really wanted to plan a big surprise for him on our wedding day. All of our family and friends are familiar with our date night and our good friend that married us even mentioned it in our ceremony.

Ross went to The University of Georgia and to say he is a bulldog fan would be an understatement. I wanted his surprise to be something really memorable to him as well as something fun for our guest to enjoy. The Rabun Bourbon Bar was the perfect addition to make our wedding truly personal. It was so much working with Caroline Fair, Fauxcades and Southern Fried Paper to create the surprise. My daddy built the frame for the sign the week of our wedding-sweet man!

My husband and I snuck into the ballroom during the outdoor cocktail hour so I could reveal his big surprise. It was a great way to kick off the evening and our guest [especially the Georgia fans] loved personalized bar.

When I met with our florist I explained to her, I knew nothing about flowers but wanted magnolias and peaches to bring our Southern roots to Dallas. My husband’s family is deeply rooted in Georgia and I wanted to symbolize both of our families becoming one on that day. Branching Out Events surpassed our vision for our Southern wedding, trophies filled with peaches, magnolia foliage welcoming guest to our cocktail hour and mint julep cups reminisced for a perfect Southern Saturday.

Our friends and family love to dance and Cuvvee brought down the house. We danced the night away closing with an intimate last dance to truly savor the evening.

Modern Chic Marfa, Texas Wedding

Now this is how you do desert chic. Mint Weddings And Events transformed a quaint Texas town into a modern destination for this affair. Complete with Fiori Flower Studio blushing blooms, a first-look in the desert, and an absolutely breath-taking Theia gown, every detail To Live. To Love. Photography snapped is perfection. It’s an editorial ode to Texas, and you can see it all here.

From To Live. To Love. PhotographyToday I’m sharing some mad Marfa goodness with y’all! This Bride and Ggroom were super trendy and were open to anything. I was blessed enough to photograph their day. My favorite moment was their first look at the Prada store in Marfa, such a beautiful moment.

From The Bride…In the Spring of 2012, I met Jonathan at the gym while we were both living in Houston. As simple as it gets, Jonathan approached me during my workout one day. Although I was intrigued by his cute smile, with some hesitation I politely declined his request for  my phone number – instead I suggested we speak at the gym a few more times. Jonathan, knowing it was love at first sight, did not take no for answer and subsequently persuaded the front desk clerk at the gym to give him my last name so he could find me on Facebook. A little persistance and a few Facebook messages later, Jonathan met me and Flush, my dog, at the park. Following that first “hang out”, Jonathan and I quickly became inseparable and were soon on the road to falling in love. Fast forward a year later, we took a road trip to West Texas to visit family. During that trip we discovered the enchantment of an unknown West Texas town called Marfa. The small amount of time we spent in Marfa that weekend made a lasting impression on our relationship. When we got engaged in November of 2013, it was a no brainer that Marfa would be the perfect destination to say their vows.

Out wedding was the perfect modern, chic West Texas affair we wanted. With gold cactus accents, vibrant florals, rose gold shoes, and a glitter glam atmosphere our  black tie affair ended with a glow stick exit.

Great Gatsby Inspiration Shoot

Here’s how we celebrate the very last day of 2014.  We put on our finest SMP wear, grab that last egg nog latte and dive into an inspiration shoot that is so posh and sparkly that only Jay Gatsby himself could have thrown a party equally as awesome.  It’s 1920’s glam done oh-so-right from a talented team that includes Kaitlin ParishoMartina Liana and Anna Smith.  Party on right here.

And a little something special from Green Light Media Services

[iframe http://player.vimeo.com/video/113427230 600 338]

From Anna Smith Photography… Lavish ornamentation, vivid colors, geometric shapes, glamour and luxury. These are just a few words that describe a time in fashion history that was an inspiration for this Great Gatsby 1920’s theme inspirational shoot. Styled by Chic Fleur Weddings and Events and photographed by myself, Anna Smith Photography, my vision came to reality showing off the works of many talented vendors in Dallas. With perfect touches of antiques from Gold Dust Vintage Rentals, vintage clothing, treasured family heirloom props and a couple very much in love we were able to create this drop dead gorgeous navy & gold stunner.

The Aldredge House set the backdrop for these gorgeous photos. Beginning as a gift to a bride in the early 1900’s, the history of Aldredge House has been that of a true love story. It now sits as a prominent mansion in the Swiss Avenue Historical District in Dallas and shines with Gatsby’s Style sophistication. From antique furnishings to exquisite walnut paneling
to an exterior wraparound terrace ideal for cocktails
to impeccably maintained gardens it was an absolute perfection for our night of inspiration.

The floral design by Ginger Root Florals completed the flawless and genuine design. I wanted our high-end day decorated with opulent and gorgeous white flowers with a touch of blue and lots of texture. By using white anemone and blue jackpot thistle we were able to add pops of color without overwhelming the scene. White standard roses, white spray roses, cafe au lait dahlias, ranunculus, dusty miller & hydrangeas were used to design the bouquet and gold vase centerpieces.

The place settings and vintage gold rimmed glassware were something out of this world. Sun-shaped and unique charger plates – these stood out to us in their lavish design and elegance. Bar cart was a must & was decorated with glassware and liquor bottles from 1920’s and bubby champagne.

Stationery created by Kaitlin Parisho was wonder to my eyes. I have never seen anything as unique & elegant, purely beautiful. The art deco style table numbers paired with blue and silver fun fonts with gold art deco designs brought a touch of sophistication and glam of the 1920s. She even ordered vintage stamps!

Our models were an actual married couple, so it was easy to feel their love and affection during the shoot. The attire was classy, clean and sophisticated generously provided to us by Culwell & Son and Patsy’s Bridal. Culwell & Son helped us choose a tuxedo from the era for our handsome groom. Patsy’s provided us with the most beautiful chiffon beaded wedding gown by Martina Liana from their vintage glam collection. Dallas Hair and Make up created a dramatic look for the bride with sparkly eyes and bright red lips. We went for bold and beautiful and absolutely achieved the look.

The jewelry provided by Patsy’s Bridal and Nordstrom Bridal were elaborate and magnificent. Intricately cut & radiant pieces carefully handcrafted for the bride’s headband, emerald and art deco shaped drop earrings and delicately cut stones with tiny crystal pattern for the hand tied bracelet were all inspired by the jewelry and headpieces popular to the 1920’s era.

The cake created by the amazing Sweet Thangs by Lo Michelle was set with intricate Gold Art Deco Designs. The Vintage Car was provided to us by Blue Diamond Limousines Of Texas. Green Light Media Services filmed the event and made a beautiful video for the shoot. All together this was a showcase of many talented Dallas Vendors and we can not wait to share our inspiration with the world. We will be very honored for SMP to feature our work.

Romantic Dallas Surprise Proposal

‘Tis the season for proposals, and I’m betting many of you pretties are sporting a little something sparkly after last week?! 2014 personally brought a sweet proposal to me, so every time one makes it’s way across my desk, I go weak in the knees. Proposals like this one from Jenny McCann, fancied up with lush garland from Posh Floral and a stunner of a rock. It’s swoon central and you can see it all here.

From Jenny McCannWith Christmas right around the corner (and lots of proposals coming up) I thought you might like to see this surprise proposal that took place in Dallas, TX. Ryan and Mariana have such a sweet story and Ryan thought of every detail for the proposal, including a surprise post engagement trip to Spain! Mariana is originally from Brazil and Ryan also surprised her by proposing in Portuguese and presented her with a Brazilian Prasiolite gemstone. Mariana has graciously written me a personal note about themselves, details about the proposal and even about the ring. I hope you enjoy these photos!

From The Bride & Groom…We met in Italy as children, around 12 years old, when both our fathers were transferred there for the same company. Our families traveled a lot together and I had a secret crush on Ryan even then. He tells me he was already in love with me and would always get excited when his family came to visit. After 4 years in Italy my family moved back to Brazil and his back to the US. We did not see or talk to each other for 5 years. We re-connected when my family moved to Texas, and his family came to visit. Then he was taller and looked like a man instead of a boy! We still felt that instant attraction towards each other as if no time had passed. We started talking to each other on the phone every day and (without planning) both ended up at UT Austin. We started dating there and have been together for 5 years. We are now so excited to start planning our 2016 wedding in Brazil!

The day of the proposal my friend invited me for a day at the spa under the premise that it was a “gift” given to her, although Ryan was the actual gift giver. We had everything done: hair, facial, makeup, massage. The works! My friend called an Uber to take us to a restaurant where we would meet our guys for a double date but she never got into the car. Instead she handed me headphones, gave the address to the driver and left. While in the car, Ryan texted me a link to a Youtube video and it turned out to be a video from my parents and relatives in Brazil wishing me all the best in this new step in life. It was very emotional for me to watch! When I arrived Ryan was there inside the gazebo, all handsome, waiting for me. He proposed in Portuguese finishing with the words we have as a symbol of our relationship: “today and always”. After the photos with Jenny, we got in the car and I called my parents. I was so excited talking to them I did not notice where we were going. The car slowed down and I realized we were at the airport. At that point I freaked out. Ryan planned a post engagement vacation to Barcelona that was going to start right away! He planned everything, even arranging with my work so I could take that time off. The trip was amazing and truly an unforgettable experience.

We went to Brazil this past summer for the World Cup and while there Ryan asked me to visit a few jewelry stores so he would have an idea of what I liked. H. Stern is the best jewelry store in Brazil. It is like Tiffany’s here in the US. When I saw this Prasiolite ring I fell in love with it instantly! Prasiolite is a stone you can only find in it’s natural form in Brazil. The ring was also a special collection made only for the world cup month, and only sold in Brazil. I knew this was the one, but I had no idea how Ryan would be able to get it. There are several regulations regarding exporting and importing jewelry, and H. Stern could not send the ring to the US. Ryan also could not buy the ring there with me, because it would not be a surprise. I was convinced I was not going to have this ring, and told myself I would find something else I liked here. But Ryan snuck out with my dad and bought the ring. He had my parents ask a friend who was going to NYC to take the ring with her, then Ryan recruited one of his friends from college who lives in NYC to pick up the ring from this woman, then another friend took the ring to meet Ryan in Austin. After 3 nerve-wracking months he finally got the ring!

Glamorous Austin Spring Wedding

While it’s no surprise that gold has a special place in our SMP hearts, it still never, ever fails to excite, and this Austin affair is a perfect example. Designed by the stylish bride herself, this wedding radiates modern glamour and Ashley Bosnick snapped up every shimmery, shiny bit of it. No need for post-holiday reality just yet, so you’ll find me immersed in every gold sparkly moment right this way.

From Ashley Bosnick Photography… This “Modern Golden Glam” wedding could not have been more perfect and fit Marisa + Erick’s personalities better! Marisa designed and planned her entire wedding down to every last detail and knew she wanted it to have a very elegant, yet modern vibe, with a little bit of glam thrown in there too!

The bride’s stunning Matthew Christopher gown added even more romance with the full bottom and fitted bodice. The groom’s fitted Vera Wang attire really helped complete their entire look that screamed modern elegance.

With gorgeous pops of coral, blush, and tangerine tones in the bridesmaids dresses by Donna Morgan and the floral by Pollen Floral Art, this wedding was a colorful, yet very refined and tasteful soiree. The bride make sure to include subtle hints of yellow and rose gold throughout the decor to help add some romantic touches to the day!

Emerald Green Winter Wedding Inspiration

We’re in the mood for a little gift giving this weekend, and today we’re sharing the gift of pretty.  Think emerald green hues, gorgeous details and a rustic meets elegant vibe, all wrapped up in a bundle of inspiration from a talented team of vendors including Jeff Brummett VisualsEverly Alaine Florals and Dallas Affaires Cakes.  Get the party started right here

From Jeff Brummett Visuals… This dreamy shoot takes place on a cold winter day at Rustic Grace Estate, a venue with 25 acres, a newly renovated 1920’s barn and a three acre lake. The charming venue with its old barn wood, rustic setting, and pasture filled with longhorn cattle created the perfect backdrop. The weather was very appropriate for a winter shoot and the hot chocolate bar was the perfect cure for the cold.

The emerald green color was carried throughout every detail from the ring to the cake. The bride wore a stunning two-tone emerald engagement ring designed by Nan Lee Jewelry. The banquet table was filled with decadent goodies, such as blackberry pie, green macaroons, roasted vegetables, raisin sourdough bread, and an almond and cranberry salad to name a few.

Just like the bride’s ring, the dishes were a beautiful combination of both silver and gold tones and featured gorgeous antique emerald plates. The head table was seated neatly under a greenery chandelier full of lush winter greens.

The bride wore a fully beaded gown from Blushing Bride Boutique and bundled up in a fur stole to keep warm. She carried a bouquet mixed with white blooms and winter greens, heavy on the greens, with a loose, organic feel. Her Maid of Honor wore a deep green dress from Bella Bridesmaid. Despite the cold temperature and the winter wind, nothing could keep this group of creatives from bringing their vision to life.

From Jordan with Swoon Rentals + DesignTucked away amongst the trees lies a hidden cove on Belton Lake where the sunset barely hits the water on a still, winter day. So is the place where an idyllic canoe ride seems fitting for a new groom and his bride, drawing them in for a romantic picturesque love story. Natural, serene winter elegance was our aspiration for this inspiration shoot and we selected deep reds, grey, black velvet and fur with lush greens to portray a sense of winter elegance. Cedar Ridge Park with its breathtaking lakeside sunset view, sweet cabins and tall trees was the ideal backdrop for flawless photos taken by Mint Photography.

We chose a mix of substance and texture throughout the shoot to attain the winter feel: gorgeous white tulle, grey flannel plaid, black velvet ribbon, black mink, earthy wood slices and brass metals. The impeccable attention to detail brought to the table by Lovely Leaves is picture-perfect with red piano roses, red David Austin Darby roses, tulips, red anemones, brunia, winter greenery and soft cotton. From the full red bouquet to the lush green blanket of willow eucalyptus on the mantle, each element embodies beauty. The red antique Evette sofa, fresh grey mantle, inherited barnwood table and cool cane-back chairs are Swoon favorites and fit the style wholly. A reflection of the tall trees and wild elements of Cedar Ridge Park, the stationery suite and menus delivered by Studio W Designs fulfilled our hearts’ desires. For dessert, Lily’s Cakes baked a delicious three-tiered cake with salted caramel buttercream filling thick between the layers topped with romantic red garden roses and exquisite ivy.

Shelbey and Zach are the most darling couple and we are dying in anticipation of their actual engagement. The delicate Allure gown she wore was a beautiful mix of handmade lace and soft, wedding-white tulle provided by Georgio’s Bridal. A black sash was the perfect accent. To keep warm during the cold winter nights, we chose a luxurious black, floor-length mink coat passed down from generations, previously worn to the most grand affairs. It was important that the bride’s natural beauty shine through—Nory from Be.YOU.tiful Salon chose natural, loose curls to pair with our winter floral headpiece. Kimberly Cutler Professional Make-Up used warm, alluring eye make-up perfect for hazel eyes with deep red lips to accentuated already perfect features.

Holiday Proposal lnspiration Shoot

A Christmas tree farm is the perfect festive backdrop for an engagement to take place complete with all of your favorite holiday goodies – Christmas trees, gifts, jingle bells, gingerbread men, and even a little sprinkle of snow! With some amazing vendors we pulled this holiday themed proposal together to spread some Christmas cheer + inspiration for the upcoming season! Happy Holidays!

Romantic Lavender Lakeside Inspiration

I believe there is no such thing as too much lavender. I love both the flower itself and the scent, and would sprinkle a little all over my apartment if my fiancé would let me. So when I came upon this gorgeous photo shoot by Jenna McElroy, styled by Claire Brody, I was drawn right in, transported to this ethereal lakeside wonderland, and I haven’t let the gallery since.

Lakeside

From Jenna McElroy… For this shoot, Claire and I took inspiration from nature. We wanted to combine deep purples, and golds with natural elements to create an ethereal and organic lakeside shoot. Claire picked fresh lavender and incorporated it into the brides bouquet, and as the centerpiece on the table. We got a low table, and instead of chairs, used deep purple pillows, so that the seating would be more relaxed. The rocky lake terrain, paired with the bride’s delicate dress, and soft make-up, add to the romantic ambience.

Understated Elegance in Dallas, Texas at Brookhollow Golf Club

Sit down pretties, because this beauty of a wedding captured by Nicole Berrett Photography needs every little bit of your attention this morning. Dripping in stunning neutral and metallic tones and overflowing with details that will leave you speechless (that vintage plate seating wall has my heart), this gallery is what wedding blogging dreams are made of. And the amazing film from Candlelight Films below? That’s the icing on the cake.

From The Bride…I love unexpected design elements/quirks throughout a wedding day. With that in mind, I knew I wanted our wedding to have a vintage elegant feel with hints of whimsy and romance. Having an “understated elegance” approach helped narrow down the color palette, florals and my favorite project, our seating chart installation.

The color palette was made up of neutral & creams, soft blushes and accents of metallic gold. I worked with some amazing vendors to bring my vision to life for many elements of our wedding day, but the biggest projects were the ceremony backdrop and seating chart instillation.

I worked with Stems of Dallas to help create a backdrop for the wedding ceremony that consisted of layers upon layers of mixed materials and ribbon with candles and rose petals lining the aisle.

The plate instillation was my “baby”. I love vintage china and I curated a group of plates I absolutely loved from local shops and Etsy. From there I worked with an event construction company and calligrapher where we met numerous times to ensure the layout, calligraphy and execution all matched my vision. This was the first time these vendors had ever done a project like this so we were all very excited to see the end result. When people ask me how I came up with this idea, I tell them that I had my “aha moment” when viewing an image of plates hung on a dining room wall. I incorporated similar plates into the table numbers to tie it all together.

Another fun detail was the bridal sketch I had on display. I did not take bridal portraits and felt this would be a great keepsake for years to come. I searched for an artist that could keep the sketch realistic, but light and romantic. I came across Linda Lloyd and she did an amazing job!

My favorite part of our wedding was the first look Fritz and I had together. We went from smiling and laughing to happy tears and hugging to soft whispers. Even though our videographer, photographer and wedding planner were all there to help make the moment special it felt like it was just the two of us, in our own little world.

I had the opportunity to donate some of the beautiful floral arrangements featured throughout our big day to a local hospice nursing home in honor of my mom. She passed away in 2008 from brain cancer. I’m so glad I was able to honor her on the most important day of my life while bringing joy and happiness to others.

Chic Texas Garden Wedding at Marie Gabrielle

Every time I see Virgil Bunao‘s name, I stop whatever I am doing so I can pay full attention to his work. He captures weddings in a way that literally makes me heart leap, and this Marie Gabrielle garden wedding proves my point in the prettiest of ways. Filled with love and gorgeous details, this gallery is honestly my definition perfection. See even more here.

From Virgil BunaoWhen Heather and Jason contacted me to be their wedding photographer, I knew what an honor this would be. Heather is a professional photographer and her work is absolutely beautiful. Knowing this awesome duo entrusted their photos to me was both thrilling and terrifying at the same time. I had to have my A-game on because they have a long selection of wedding photographers to choose from! Their first round with me was their engagement photos and those turned out amazing; they are a great-looking couple. Their June wedding proved me wrong when I thought that their photos couldn’t get any better. Marie Gabrielle is definitely a spot to look into for your wedding if you’re in the Dallas area or if you’re contemplating having a destination wedding there. The gardens are perfectly manicured, the indoor spots are a photographer’s dream (especially if you love modern architecture), and the food is scrumptious and almost too stunning to eat. Almost!

Heather and Jason played on Marie Gabrielle’s interior decor by using some warm brown tones and earthy colors for their centerpieces and place settings. It was certainly rustic done expertly and I wouldn’t expect any less from this stylish couple! With Jason in his dapper Tom Ford suit and Heather in her classic Yoana Baraschi gown, it was a chic day with lots of love infused throughout, from the newlyweds to their families. My time in Dallas was definitely well-spent!

Southern Chic Camp Lucy Wedding

I’ve got a serious venue crush on Camp Lucy and I dare say, if beautiful Texas were my wedding destination, it’d be a top contender for sure. All it takes is one little peek at this stunner from Becca Lea Photography to see why. The simple, raw stone detailing and gorgeous green cacti galore paired with lush pinks and corals makes for a gallery that’s too good to miss. See it all here.

From Becca Lea PhotographySage and Lacey’s Camp Lucy wedding could not have been more beautiful or perfect for them. With parasols, fans, and outdoor games for cocktail hour, you definitely knew you were in the south. The pops of coral and simple touches of white, that they added within the wedding were perfect additions to an already stunning venue.

Ian’s chapel was a great choice for their intimate ceremony. The beautiful architecture spoke for itself, so Lacey and Sage chose to line the aisle with only rose petals as their decor to truly create a romantic feel.

The reception also continued the effortless feel, with simple place settings that had a sprig of rosemary on each napkin. A small tribute to Sage and his name. As well as the pops of coral and white, which created a beautifully executed day!
