Gold + Silver Texas Glam Wedding

We don’t hear from the grooms all that often which makes this gentleman’s story special from the start. But the way he describes the “most amazing day of his life” and his breathtaking wife, well, it brought tears to my eyes. Becca Lea captured every moment of their special day and thanks to her pics, our VAULT just got a major boost of Texas glam gorgeousness – see it all this way!

From the Groom… The day I married Amanda was by far the most amazing day of my life. It was the culmination of a beautiful journey we had started four years prior and it ended up being everything we wanted it to be. I began that beautiful July day arriving at the mansion where our ceremony and reception would be taking place. I remember Amanda seeing the mansion for the first time and saying this is where we HAVE to get married. We hadn’t even walked inside, but I knew our search for a venue was over. The mansion encompassed all the things we wanted; a beautiful outdoor ceremony location, a reception space by the pool, and an on-site groom and bride’s suite that were large enough to accommodate our wedding party of 20. The flower girl even asked if princesses lived in the mansion.

We had decided to do a first look and I remember when Becca called me up to get ready for it I was so excited I could barely stand it. Amanda had kept every aspect about her wedding day look a secret, but knowing her there was no doubt that she would be a perfect combination of glamorous and classic. I could not wait to see the woman of my dreams in her wedding dress. I stood with my back turned waiting on her to walk up to me, I could hear her footsteps and excited laughter as her approach came near, I had a smile from ear to ear before I even laid eyes on her and when I finally did she looked more breathtaking than I could have ever imagined. I was a little hesitant about the first look in the beginning, but I would definitely do it again. It was such an intimate moment that we got to share before saying “I do.”

After pictures we waited for the ceremony to begin. I walked down to the big oak tree in front of the mansion where our ceremony was going occur. Amanda and I wanted the ceremony to be simple and intimate, so even the people that didn’t know us well would be able to feel the love we have for each other. Once, everyone was in position the stringed musicians began to play “At Last” by Etta James and I could see Amanda begin her walk with her father. Once I saw her it seemed as though everything else in the entire place faded away, it was just me and her. That was the happiest moment of my life thus far. I was so thankful that my college roommate and close friend, Brian, was able to officiate our wedding. He did an amazing job at making our ceremony personal and fun while telling our story. We decided to write our vows, something I was quite nervous about prior to the ceremony but once it began it just flowed out so natural and easy, I didn’t feel nervous at all, I was just so happy to be marrying this amazing woman and everything just felt so right up there.

After the ceremony we made our way to the reception. The theme that Amanda had put together looked great; it was a perfect balance of who we were, I believe she called it “Texas Glam.” It makes me laugh just writing that but it summed the look and feel up great; a backyard Texas environment with all the glamour and beauty that my wife brings to everything she touches. We could not have asked for a more beautiful venue and night. Surrounded by our family and friends we danced the night away and celebrated our love, it was night I will never forget and always cherish.

Stylish + Chic Dallas Engagement Session

All newly engaged ladies, take note! THIS is how you do a super stylish e-shoot to remember. With a variety of perfectly on point looks, this Bride-to-be showed off her innate chicness and of course, her affection for her handsome Groom-to-be. Nicole Berrett captured every new outfit and every sweet kiss in between; see them all from top to bottom in our VAULT right this way!

From Nicole Berrett Photography… This couple is the perfect example for what to wear for your engagement session!! All the way from the gorgeous dresses Jessica wore and perfect hair and makeup by Beauty & the Blush…to the beautiful florals by Everly Alaine Florals…to the one who stole the show, Chester the Corgi in his adorable bow tie.

From the Bride-to-be… When I envisioned my engagement session, I pictured three things: long flowing dresses, beautiful florals, and of course, my precious dog. As most ladies do, we love feeling glamorous and sparkly, which led to my first dress choice! Wearing the Badgley Mischka dress was so much fun, and I truly felt so elegant and lady-like! Though, the second dress was probably my favorite. I felt so sophisticated in the black illusion pattern, loved the shape, and next to my fiancé in a light grey suit jacket and khakis, this combination was probably my favorite. Of course, I had to end with an easy-going Anthropologie dress, then putting JJ in something more casual. I felt like each of the three outfits stood out in their own way, and I wish I could dress up and wear them again!

Flowers are going to be a huge part of my wedding, so I knew I couldn’t have my engagement session without somehow involving them. Everly Alaine truly blew me away with the bouquet she created, and it complemented our outfits flawlessly. I also wanted the light, girly feel of wearing flowers in my hair, and the hair accessory she created was one of my favorite aspects of the session.

And of course, my precious corgi Chester completely stole the show. As Chester is essentially JJ and I’s child, we knew he had to be involved and included in our pictures. He absolutely loved being in the session, he ended up being so photogenic, and absolutely stole the show! He even knows how to smile and pose for the camera, he was such a joy in our session!

All in all, it is my amazing team that gave me the engagement session of my dreams. Beauty and the Blush Artistry did my hair and makeup, and I absolutely adored being dolled up. Everly Alaine delivered the most elegant, lush florals a girl could ask for, and made the session that much prettier. And of course, Nicole Berrett is just a rockstar at what she does. I’ve always known I wanted a film photographer for my wedding journey, and Nicole does nothing less than deliver the dreamiest of photos to her clients, and our engagement session would not have been the same without her. JJ and I are so grateful to everyone that made our engagement session come true.

To any future brides, do not be afraid to splurge and spoil yourself for your engagement session! You only get to do these pictures once, and with that mindset, I had no problem investing a lot into this session! Renting the particular dresses I wanted, having my hair/makeup professionally done, and having the florals may not have been necessary, but it’s what I have always dreamed of, and I am beyond happy with the result of our pictures. You are only engaged once, so make it count, and make your wedding dreams come true!

Bohemian

From Mint PhotographyCaitlin and Nick’s bohemian inspired wedding in the Texas hill country was so beautiful we could have photographed this one over and over! From the gorgeous couple, to the bright blooms in her bohemian themed bouquets, to the aaaamazing draping at the ceremony site done by Stems – we couldn’t get enough of this one! Caitlin opted for a somewhat more traditional gown for herself in order to provide for a timeless look in her photos but still incorporated the theme she wanted for the overall wedding with her bridesmaids and the decor! We love this idea! They also did a slight incorporation of the grooms heritage with the bridesmaids wearing the CUTEST traditional Korean dresses.

Organic Greenery Texas Church Wedding

Romantic greenery in lieu of flowers has been one this year’s top wedding trends. And while we’d never venture to say florals are out of style, there’s something about an abundance of beautifully draped greenery that can’t be beat. Inside The Vault you’ll find the prettiest ideas for incorporating a look of organic elegance into your Big Day with Stephanie Brazzle behind every capture.

From The Bride…Woody, green, natural, organic, classic and vintage” those are the words jump out of my brain when I thought of our wedding and we spent every minute thinking about how we could make it together. With two month’s preparation, it was intensive but joyful.

Murphy and I are DIY-ers. We emailed a cute illustration to our guests as the Save the Date to start the wedding. I designed the wood invitation and Murphy made the map. Making proposals to our wedding party was still an interesting part. “We cannot tie the knot without you. Will you be our bridesmaid/groomsman? Plan with me, stand with me, laugh with me, and cry with me” We engraved those words on a vintage wood wine case and our wedding logo on the wine.

We had the ceremony at the Bella Donna Chapel, a small classic chapel surrounded by the lake and Mediterranean architectures. We fell in love with the moment when we saw it. “This is the one.” And the reception venue Stonebridge Country Club was also so wonderful, two minutes away from the chapel with the golf course. It was such a beautiful place to have the first look, bridal and groom photo session and also a great place for guests to drink, walk around and eat. Murphy and I are nature lovers and we decided to use the nature do the talking. Instead of the flowers, we used a lot of greenery and vintage lamps to decorate the chapel.

A vintage music sheet as the wedding program went so well with it. Wood center pieces, greenery, white flowers, bottles were used everywhere in the reception area. And 200 succulents as the wedding favor ended up stunning. Our guests keep talking with us how their little plants growing after our wedding. “Find your seats, take one home and let the love grow.” Yes, the love grows in everyone’s home now.

Music was very important to us. We invited one of our bridesmaids and two grooms to lead the worship in the ceremony. They are the excellent singers of our church. “You Are My All in All ”made everyone refresh their marriages and God’s love. “When God Made You” is our favorite and we chose it as the unity candle song. Every time when I hear this song, I will think of our vows and the moment that I was closing my eyes, leaning to Murphy and singing this song with tears in the chapel.

We wanted to have a special moment for just the two of us, and I knew that if we waited until the ceremony to see each other, we probably would have cried the entire ceremony, so we decided to have a first look. When we saw each other I couldn’t help but laugh loudly! After more than two years, we finally made it. As he gave me a hug and held my hands, I saw he began to cry and he suggested we pray together. Murphy has been one of the strongest Christian influences in my life and prays with and for me every single day, ever since the very beginning of our relationship. We enjoyed those special and last few moments together with each other and God as our focus before becoming husband and wife.

The entire wedding, the most challenging thing for us is the timeline. What touched us most were the prayers and the help from our families, friends and neighbors. They crossed the states and the countries to join our big day and help us, through and through. They mean a lot to us and we wouldn’t have enjoyed such a memorable wedding without them.

The renovated barn features whitewashed floors, walls and ceilings while chandeliers made of antlers dot the overhead. The hints of blue peeking from the bride’s Carol Hannah dress served as the centerpiece to the shoot, especially when topped with the gorgeous lace cathedral veil. Not too fussy but still elegant, the minimal design speaks for itself. The greenery and blooms from Stems of Dallas tied the minimal backdrop and organic place settings together perfectly.

Tropical Garden Wedding Inspiration

The colorful imagery you’re about to peruse, brought sooo my cheer to my screen when I opened the doors to this insanely pretty shoot from Ben Q. Photography. In. an. instant. It’s inspiration for garden romance, elevated to a tropical fusion… overflowing petals in the happiest hues, courtesy of The Southern Table, rentals from Bella Acento and an intriguing Ines Di Santo dress, for starters. The rest? I promise you want to visit THE VAULT.

From Ben Q. PhotographyTexas is known for it’s amazing Tex-Mex food and there is one restaurant that is legendary among the locals. Joe T Garcia’s is a popular eatery with a phenomenal outdoor patio. Their large garden is ideal for weddings with a destination/tropical feel. For this shoot we wanted to highlight their lush greenery and charming architecture. The portillo (porch area) is a great spot for a long head table with gorgeous views all around. We wanted to keep the design elements natural with a cool etched wood menu and fresh fruit in the arrangements. And what better dessert to celebrate with than some cinnamony sopapillas!

Chic Southern Engagement Session

As a longtime lover of hats, one glance at this engagement shoot by Nicole Berrett and I was hooked. Disclaimer aside, these pretty pics are what I like to refer to as “holiday card worthy,” full of sweet kisses and cute smiles that are guaranteed to give this adorable couple and all their friends and family heart eyes every time they take a look. Hop into our VAULT and see what I’m talkin’ about!

From Nicole Berrett Photography… This couple really wanted something classic and timeless for their engagement session, and I just love the way it all came together!!

From the future Bride and Groom… Aaron and I were introduced through mutual friends while attending school at The University of Texas at Tyler. I was a freshman on the softball team, and Aaron was a junior on the baseball team.

The first time we met we were instantly attracted to each other and had chemistry that was undeniable. We both have very strong personalities so the conversation was endless. Ashley was just gorgeous and had this confidence about her that drove me crazy! When I finally got to know her on a more intimate level, I found out that not only was she a looker, but an absolute sweetheart as well!

Four and a half years later, Aaron had graduated from college and I was in my last semester of nursing school we decided to take the next big step in our relationship!

The proposal was something out of a fairy tale. Aaron put so much thought and love into how he was going to pop the question, and I replay that day over and over every day. It was on his birthday and we made plans to go out to dinner with our friends, but before dinner he had scheduled pictures to be taken of me in the Arts District in Dallas for my nursing “graduation pictures.” Little did I know that the pictures were not for graduation, but a clever way to capture the perfect moment when he got down on a knee. After the sweetest moment of our lives we took pictures to celebrate and he had a horse drawn carriage pick us up and take us to dinner, where there was a surprise engagement party with tons of family and friends waiting to celebrate our love. I felt like the luckiest girl in the world to have everyone I love in the same room at the same time!

As soon as it came time to pick our vendors there was no question on who I wanted to choose as our photographer, or in Aaron’s words, ”Ashley always has to have the best of the best,” which is why we decided to go with NICOLE BERRETT. She is a doll and truly an artist that captures flawless pictures. We could not have asked for a better fit for our style, from a little black dress paired with a formal groom, to a more Southern charm styled shoot. We are forever grateful for Nicole because she gave us some of the most beautiful moments and photos that will cherish forever! We can not thank you enough Nicole! You are the BEST!

Fall Woodland Baby Shower

Oh it just doesn’t get more lovely than this woodland-inspired fall fête whipped up by The Avery Grace. With florals from Posh Floral Designs so incredibly gorgeous I could want to squeal and an equally stunning momma-to-be (not to mention a delicious menu including yummy fried chicken from Sissy’s Southern Kitchen), this, my friends, is baby shower perfection.

When I found out that Hayley was going to have a girl, my mind went into full party planning mode. I knew when designing her shower that it needed to be whimsical, earthy and feminine. All of that combined created the “Woodland Baby Shower.” It needed to be simple yet beautiful and a floral crown was a must! Angie from Posh Floral made one that was perfection! If a floral crown could sum up someones personality, this one did! The florals are a mix of plum, blush and deep burgundy. We decided to do something different than traditional centerpieces and I loved how the terrariums looked filled with moss and floral against the green earthy runners. The antlers helped add a rustic touch with soft florals resting on them and little touches of feathers to tie in with the invitation.

Sissy’s Southern Kitchen first came to mind because of their food. What pregnant woman doesn’t want fried chicken, mashed potatoes and mac and cheese at their shower!? It also helps that they have the cutest porch with a ton of natural light that pours in, which made for great photos. They also have the best dishware, which may sound silly but it totally made the table!

We were so lucky to have Courtnee, capture all of the photos of the day. I love every single shot she took of Hayley in the courtyard and they truly are something she can cherish forever.

Elegant + Colorful Outdoor Camp Waldemar Texas Wedding

My idea of outdoorsy is drinking prosecco on patios, but this darling duo? Well their campsite ceremony has easily converted me to a nature loving lady. Because when you pair the undeniable charm of Texas with the lens of LisaAnne Photography you’ve got yourself one chic affair. It’s outdoor elegance and I simply can’t get enough (just look at that chuppah!) and we’ve got it all waiting for you in THE VAULT!

From LisaAnne PhotographyCamp Waldemar is an amazing venue deep in the heart of Hunt, Texas. Chesalon and Jordan came to me with the idea of a gorgeous 3 day wedding weekend full of a rehearsal dinner, wedding day, and camp life living. They wanted to take their elegant wedding and mix it with a swirl of upscale camp life.

I arrived and immediately fell in love! This pastel inspired wedding was simply breath taking! I could go on and on about the florals, elaborate chuppah, and amazing gold and pastel reception decor.

Bella Flora designed a gorgeous…and I mean gorgeous chuppah for their ceremony. Pastel florals cascaded down over them to form a romantic and soft touch while they said I do’s as the sunset kissed them on it’s way down! Bridesmaids wore ivory and each one carried a unique bouquet that when those unique florals combined it actually made up the entire Brides bouquet, such a great idea! This couple brought in a Jewish ceremony mixed with Texas Pride to create a gorgeously elegant yet wild reception for all the fun and memories!!

I hope you enjoy some of the fun from this wedding!

Colorful Fall Vista West Ranch Wedding

The best kind of details? Those that are intangible. The traditions, the sentiments and the whole love that a wedding day is comprised of. They lie in a mother crafting a veil and sash for her daughter, a best man building his friends a communion table and a bride and groom-to-be spending an afternoon in the park discovering their vows and setting goals for their marriage. All the palpable pretty? This day is chock-full of it in THE VAULT thanks to Rachel Whyte. But the best bits live in the love that’s woven in.

From Rachel WhyteAs a photographer, Katie and Keller were ideal clients. Their love for one another was contagious and Katie has great taste. Their wedding was on a perfect, crisp (Texas) December day. They were both so gracious and kind on their wedding day and I now count them as friends.

From the Bride… Our favorite part of wedding planning were the sentimental details that guests probably didn’t notice! My mama made my veil and my sash, and I wore a fur stole that belonged to Keller’s great-grandmother (also a Katherine!) At our “legacy table,” we had wedding photos of our parents and grandparents, my grandma’s Chinese lace table cloth, and a silk bouquet that Keller’s grandma made by hand. Also, Keller’s best man built the small table we took communion on, and we got our vows engraved on the bottom. We brought it to Kentucky with us, and I love having such a meaningful part of our wedding day in our home.

We’re both writers, so writing our vows together was a really meaningful part of wedding planning. We spent an afternoon at the park, looking through scripture and talking about the way God describes the foundation of marriage. Once we did that, we wrote down goals for our marriage, and structured our vows around that. It was one of our favorite afternoons of engagement, and we both loved reading them on our wedding day.

We had our dream ceremony: outdoors, chilly December weather, all our best friends and family, a Civil-Wars-esque band playing (for real, they were unbelievable) and a powerful message about the gospel. We also took communion together and I walked down the aisle to “How Deep the Father’s Love.”

Our barn reception was so cozy and candle-lit! The hill country vendors were all unbelievable, and the best part was that they were all so used to working together, so it made the day-of prep a breeze for us. I had a lot of trouble choosing colors at first, because I didn’t want to be too Christmas-y in early December. I decided on a more muted palette of navy, gold, evergreen and ivory, with lots of mercury glass and richly colored flowers. Rustic and elegant are difficult to accomplish at the same time, but my florist and day-of coordinator did it perfectly.

Our planning advice? We knew getting married in Austin would be tricky since we would be planning almost all of it from a distance. First of all, be sure to choose vendors that you really trust! I tried to surround myself with really calm, low-key people that I knew would get the job done, even though I was states away. Also, don’t be afraid to use people who are new to the wedding industry! We saved a lot of money by using a new designer for our paper products (she’s SO talented), a friend who’s a film student (also SO talented), and by using a band from my college town who doesn’t normally play at weddings. It’s really fun to have a mash up of different people.

Soak up everything you can and then soak up some more. It’s overwhelming to have everyone you both love in one room, celebrating your new covenant with your favorite person in the world, but it’s the best kind of overwhelmed! Details matter so much less than you think they do, because you’re way too busy having a blast on your wedding day to even think about anything else. Also, sleep, vitamin C and water will be your best friends during your wedding week.

Wedding MVPS: Our sweet mamas, my photographer, Keller’s groomsman who flew in from London just for the wedding ceremony, my hairdresser/make up fixer-upper/the one who kept my nerves calm all day, my day-of coordinator, and Keller!

Lavender + Honey Brunch Wedding Inspiration

These first few weeks of fall have us wrapped up in it’s layers and layers of cozy pretty. The sunset glow is a little deeper, the air is crisper and the charm is in full force my friends. Today’s editorial beauty from Kayla Barker and The Southern Table is absolutely no exception. It’s proof that autumn’s doors are open to unexpected hue combos (hello lavender and honey!) and that warming up to an al fresco table is still 100% do-able. Get comfy in THE VAULT, you’ll be so happy you did.

Organic + Bohemian Bridal Inspiration

At any rate, this is happiness. Don’t believe me? Take one look at the THE VAULT and just try to claim otherwise. Because when you’ve got a gallery from Joshua Ratliff graced with gorgeousness from Essense Of Australia, well we’re pretty certain that’s pure, unadulterated bliss.

From The Bride-to-be…Being from southeast New Mexico and living in West Texas, I guess you could say my “style” didn’t necessarily fit in around here. I love the people, but not so much the rhinestone, mason jar and burlap obsession. With that, I figured my wedding was the only time I could really showcase my true flavor. I would say my taste is more organically bohemian (before boho was in, but in a tasteful way. That’s where my dress inspiration came from. I wanted something effortlessly beautiful. Add a gorgeous floral arrangement and stunning braid and call it good. I’m so laid back and I really wanted that to show. My make up was natural as it gets, which really made my heart happy, and I loved all the products that were used.

What I loved most about the day were the people I was with. Of course getting dressed up like a bohemian princess was more than I could ever want, but something about the chemistry between all of us out in the middle of nowhere was inspiring. Joshua and Carly are so driven and passionate that seeing people at work doing what they love was truly a blessing. They’re both based in Lubbock too! No shot was taken lightly; everything had to be perfect, but in such a relaxing, loving, playful and carefree environment. We were pressed for time as the sun began to set, but at no point did it become overwhelming or stressful. Their teamwork, passion and talents really brought the session together from start to finish. It also gave my mother and I a beautiful experience that we will never forget. It allowed us the time to just have fun together in a unique way. I hadn’t seen my mom that happy since the whole wedding planning process began.

I thought the location was perfect! We were right outside of Lubbock where my fiance Hayden and I actually met, so there was some history behind it. Lubbock may not be known for always offering a culture to suit the discerning bride, but this shoot shows quite the opposite of that. It proves that if you explore a little further, you’ll find something breathtakingly beautiful.

Earthy Lakeside Wedding Inspiration

Letting your wedding location inspire your color palette is always a good idea. Case in point? This earthy lakeside editorial from Kayla Barker and The Southern Table. It’s a blending of rough and smooth, jagged and flowing, warm and cool and it works sooo very well, from the Jenny Packham dress to the soft blue, peach and ivory tablescape. See more this way in THE VAULT!

From The Southern TableFor this inspirational shoot we wanted to combine the cooler tones from the calm water and the textures of the lakeside rock formations. We infused cool blue textures in the delicate hand-dyed silk runner and ribbons from Silk & Willow and the hand-lettered invitation suite from the Script Merchant.

The warm tones of peach dahlias and garden roses, eclectic greenery textures, ND forged stone vessels accentuate the location’s natural distinctive rock formations. Our model was flawlessly styled with a textual braid with beach waves and natural makeup by Tracy Melton.

The gorgeous Jenny Packham gown with grey underlay and gold and pewter beading added an unexpected touch of glamour to this diverse Texas landscape. Kayla Barker utilized the overcast skies and reflective water to perfectly capture this ethereal setting.

Texas Gardens Engagement Session

I love when I can legit feel the happiness of a couple, when the love between them is radiating out of a photo – and this VAULT gallery is chock full of such pics. From strolling through the beautiful McGovern Centennial Gardens with their adorably photogenic pup to dancing in the streets, these cuties are pure joy. Dana Fernandez got it all on camera – see every picture perfect moment right this way!

From Dana Fernandez Photography… When Esther and Andrew approached me about ideas for their engagement session, they wanted somewhere outdoors, colorful and that matched their fun personalities. We ended up deciding on two locations, one being the new McGovern Centennial Gardens and the other which was Esther’s vibrant and eclectic neighborhood called Montrose. Esther and Andrew also wanted to bring along their dear pup, who (let’s be honest) ended up stealing the show while she received a ton of love and belly rubs. During the session, they both were absolutely wonderful to work with as their love for each other (and their pup!) was so sweet! My favorite part was towards the end of their engagement session, where we soaked up the last bit of light with some twirling and dancing in the streets as well as some fun piggy-back rides!

Jewel-Toned Austin Wedding + 4 Tips from a Real Bride!

Curating the pretty for you is a job we’re honored to do on a daily basis, especially when it involves sweet little fur babies like this one. This entire day from Feather & Twine is loaded with sweetness, from the jewel-toned hues to the blended rustic elegance. Before you dive into this gem of a gallery freshly added to THE VAULT, make sure to read the Bride’s real planning tips below!

From The Bride…Our favorite moment was our “first look” before the ceremony. The whole day was very emotional and fast paced, it was nice to have a private moment before the ceremony and reception to reflect and enjoy a moment alone. We loved our first dance. We planned on practicing the dance in advance so we would be comfortable dancing. However, we didn’t get the time to properly practice. So, after the ceremony and right before making our entrance into the reception, we took a moment to practice the two-step. Though our first dance was clumsy, we laughed the whole time and loved the moment when Michael spun me around at our favorite part of our wedding song. One other moment that Michael and I both loved was having our dog Luna in the wedding party. It was nice to have a bit of home with us during the wedding. She helped calm us down and made the guest laugh as she was walked down the aisle by my two year old nephew.

When planning the wedding, we tried to involve as many local vendors as possible. We loved that Barr Mansion is USDA certified and plan their menus by the season and harvest produce from the venue’s grounds. We used local artist from our home town to design and create the wedding invitations. We wanted the floral accents to reflect the organic and local vibe, as well. Stems ATX was able to incorporate fresh kale, grapes and lavender into the center pieces. I really loved the fun and quirky accents. The runner for the main table was hand died a really pretty lavender color, that worked well with the deep jewel tone centerpieces.

1. Start booking as many things in advance as possible. It’s amazing how quickly venues and vendors book up. Not only do you have more options, it’s less stressful as you get closer to the wedding date.

2. Have an alternate plan for inclement weather. Our wedding was initially planned to be outside under a beautiful pecan tree on the Barr Mansion grounds, but the day of the wedding we had really severe weather. Luckily, the Barr Mansion has a cover pavilion.

3. Have a wedding coordinator the day of the wedding. Shannon with Barr Mansion was amazing. The whole wedding was timed perfectly. She helped route the guests from ceremony to reception and had appetizers and drink service waiting. She made sure that Michael and I were always satisfied.

4. Since our venue was located 15 minutes from downtown Austin in a rural area, I was nervous guest would get lost on the way to the venue. We booked a 30 person bus to shuttle guests to and from the wedding. I think it put guests at ease that they didn’t have to drive and could enjoy more cocktails.
