Arboretum Spring Wedding in Philadelphia
Pink is sort of the unofficial favorite color at SMP and we will never, ever tire of it, especially when it's done is such a soft and beautiful way. Brooke Courtney Photography captured a wedding fit for the utterly romantic at heart, and it's everything dreams are made of, right down to the little guy in black tie.
From the Bride... From torrential thunder storms to getting in a car accident, the week leading up to our wedding was anything but perfect. Our wedding on May 2, 2014, however, far exceeded our expectations and was truly as wonderful as we had always imagined.
My husband Bryan and I were married outdoors in the gardens at the Morris Arboretum in Chestnut Hill (Philadelphia) surrounded by 70 of our closest family and friends. I wore a lace and tulle Pronovias gown that I purchased in NYC and Bryan wore a Vera Wang tuxedo. Taking the train 2 hours to NYC many times for my fittings was definitely worth it.
Bryan and I were very hands-on with the planning of our big day. We worked closely with our officiant to ensure our ceremony was exactly how we wanted it. We picked all of our blessings and wrote our own vows.
Our cocktail hour was in the Out on a Limb (tree house) at Morris Arboretum. When we first visited the arboretum, the tree house immediately stood out to us. We knew right away that we wanted a unique cocktail hour space and this was it! Jeffrey Miller Catering did a wonderful job with the passed and stationary hors d'oeuvres. Our signature drink was a champagne and St. Germain cocktail with a raspberry on top. It was delicious!
The reception space was inside the tent off the arboretum's visitors center and was absolutely gorgeous. We kept the sides of the tent up the entire night so our guests could see the beautiful gardens around us. Bryan and I danced to Lady Antebellum's "Can't Take My Eyes Off You", ate swordfish and mashed sweet potatoes, and enjoyed spending time with our friends and family.
The night was truly magical.
