A Same Sex Opulent Wedding At the Fairmont in San Francisco

After a 3 time postponement due to COVID, Robbie & Tim finally got to celebrate their wedding the way they wanted it at the lavish Fairmont in San Francisco. It was a wedding celebration incorporating classic traditions from Robbie’s Jewish faith and Tim’s Korean heritage. The two were pronounced husband and husband witnessed by their friends and family in exquisite fashion at the gorgeous hotel. It was hard not to fall in love with these two gentleman myself, as they exuded style, grace and a gratitude unlike I have ever seen towards all their loved ones and vendors. Robbie and Tim were pure love and their admiration for one another really showed throughout their day. Dressed in matching Fendi couture suits and shoes, these two men were stylishly dressed to impress from head to toe. Everything from the San Francisco city skyline to the gorgeous table settings fit together with a harmonious elegance that brought their wedding details together in an opulent manner. Each detail was planned to perfection and executed to a tee by our favorite wedding planner Mandy Scott of Mandy Scott Events who kept the timeline of the day flowing perfectly. Having a first look is such an intimate moment so the couple decided to share their first look on their hotel room balcony overlooking the city scape followed by portraits with their adorable little pup Noona who was wearing a classic Korean Hanbok. Cocktail hour was kicked off by circus performers indulging the guests in a fantasy world of stilt walkers, hand stands and Champagne skirts. Guests were greeted and chaperoned by The Glamazon woman on stilts who directed people to the rooftop garden where cocktail hour and ceremony was held. Everyone enjoyed mingling with a pre-ceremony champagne delight and were accompanied by live string trio entertainment. To bring even more excitement and eye candy performance to the to the pre celebratory event was a live contortionist that pretzeled in and out of poses in an effortless way followed by a live aerialist that performed pole acrobatics on a half moon sphere. Robbie and Tim had an intimate traditional Ketubah signing in a private room where just a few of their friends and family witnessed the ritual surrounding the couple with support. The two were granted blessings and prayers by their Rabbi and pronounced officially as husband and husband. Part two of their wedding ceremony proceeded out in the garden where Tim and Robbie exchanged vows and rings under a beautiful floral chuppah in classic color tones of blush, white and antique roses nested in lush greenery designed so beautifully by florist Heather Cassady of Wish Social Events.
Guests were moved to tears witnessing the the final pronouncement and showered the couple with clapping and cheers of love. It was clear to me that Robbie and Tim were surrounded by positive energy by everyone that attended the soirée and in return the two really wanted to give their guests the party of a lifetime with entertainment that went on throughout the night! The reception was held in the Gold Ballroom that sparkled with decadents all around. Ornate gold leaf lined walls and a turn of the century French provincial detailing paired with the hand painted art brought an authenticity and old world class. Filled with a soft floral color pallet were tables that defined class with a touch of glam. Chandelier lined ceilings coupled with the dimmed wall scones and tall candle votives invoked the mood of old romance in the exquisite setting. Robbie and Tim’s first slow dance was a lyrical and beautiful but then the couple had a quick outfit change into Versace street clothes and stepped it up with a hip hop choreographed dance that made the crowd go wild! A show to rival Saturday night in the Castro of San Francisco with money guns, dollar bills and outrageous gowns worn by drag artists concluded dinner. The couple ended the night with cake cutting, champagne toasting and the wild chair tossing Hora describing their wedding as “definitely worth the wait”.

A Fine Art Detail And Over-The-Top Florals Bespoke Workshop At Kestrel Park

From where we sit, this editorial at Kestrel Park in Santa Ynez, California can do no wrong.  Sara Reddick Events designed a day in a pastel palette for a chic, feminine feel.  Overflowing floral installation designed by Blooms by Morgan popped up in the most unexpectedly perfect places, turning something as simple as a cocktail serving tray into a masterpiece.   Get ready to swoon over every luxurious detail carefully planned by Ohana Events and artfully captured in imagery by Lindsey Taylor Photography. Visit the full gallery and prepare to fall in love.

From Lindsey Taylor Photography… This luxury editorial was inspired by gardenscapes and fresh pastels. With fine art details and over-the-top florals, vendors created a chic, feminine and stylish atmosphere at Kestrel Park in Santa Ynez, California. The bride’s iconic Monique Lhuillier gown featuring balloon sleeves and alluring patterns was a central design element.

Following the couple’s intimate ceremony, cocktail hour took place in Kestrel Park’s impressive gardens. Guests strolled with parasols, clinking signature cocktails adorned with ditzy florals. A tiered white cake embellished with edible flowers paid homage to the floral-centric design of the day. Overflowing with an abundance of blooms, our grand tablescape was set in the sycamore grove.

Place settings were beautifully layered, soft pattern play was incorporated, and charming garden chairs added a fresh approach. The overall design invoked a living, growing experience. At the end of the day, the bride and groom rode off in a vintage 1958 Porsche Speedster adorned with florals. Surrounded by light-bathed California hills, the grand drive of Kestrel Park  was the perfect setting for their romantic portraits.

Welcome to your dream wedding.  One look at this fantastic fairytale planned and designed by Jacqueline Hallgarth Events will have you saying OMG.  Lets talk about the ceremony, with a grounded floral aisle that leads to an epic free-flowing floral arch in peach and soft pink created by Poppy Design Co.  The best part? It only gets better as you keep going.  Jenny Quicksall Photography creates magic with her images that perfectly tell the story of the day, you’re going to love every moment inside the full gallery.

From the bride Madeline… When Chris and I were envisioning our wedding, we wanted something that captured our love for nature and the outdoors at our Southern California wedding venue. Chris is from Montana, so having mountain views was an absolute must. I have always been a huge flower lover, so I knew I wanted to have plenty of blossoms and greenery to create a naturally beautiful feel. Our favorite part about the wedding planning process was collaborating with our incredible wedding planner, Jacqueline Hallgarth Events, to add personal touches that highlight who we are as a couple and where we come from.

Since we currently live in Colorado, we really wanted to find a way to incorporate it into our special day. Instead of doing a traditional guest book, we compiled our engagement photos taken in the San Juan Mountain Range of Colorado and had guests sign the album as they could flip through us frolicking in the gorgeous mountains covered in wildflowers. We again were able to echo the mountain theme through the stunning invitations that Swell Press was able to curate for us.

As mentioned above, Chris is a Montana man and it was important that we gave a nod to his home state. At the wedding, we served Montucky Cold Snacks, one of his favorite Montana beers–needless to say the Montanan guests were quite thrilled to have a taste from home. I was able to highlight my Californian roots by serving Line Shack and Heart of the Matter Wines–not only Californian wine, but wine made by my Aunt, Uncle, and Cousin winemakers! Our wedding was an absolute dream and we feel so grateful to all of the people who made it a reality. Because of them, we were able to truly enjoy spending a day with all of the people that we love.

If You Love Dogs And Gorgeous Details You Need To See This Wedding!

Love your dog and looking for an elegant way to include them in your wedding? Stephanie and Mark had a wedding that included their fur baby without sacrificing an inch of sophistication and style.  Amanda Rose Weddings planned the warm and inviting intimate affair, and Kato Floral Designs filled it with elevated floral arrangements.  Every magical moment was artfully captured in the imagery by Vicki Grafton Photography, get a closer look at all the lovely in the full gallery.

From Vicki Grafton PhotographyStephanie and Mark were married on October 9th, 2021 at a charming ivy-covered coastal home in Hilton Head SC. They downsized their wedding to just close family and friends because of covid and also had all events outdoors. I loved the intimate family feel of the wedding and her dress choices were perfect for the celebration. Steph started the day by stepping into a romantic lace Lela Rose for the ceremony that paired well with the Spanish moss and ivy in the front of the property and then she changed into a fun modern Oscar De La Renta for the beachside reception in the back of the property.

From the planner Amanda Rose WeddingsWhat stands out to me with this wedding is that Steph and Mark really want to spoil and enjoy the celebration with their guests. From the linens to the flatware and desserts, they paid attention to every detail. It was a small wedding, but they wanted to bring every element of lux that they could. Made even more intimately warm by seating everyone together. It made for a very personal, and an elevated meal together. The bride and groom could not be more thankful. In a very busy, yet still uncertain time in the wedding industry, these two made sure that every single one of their vendor team knew how thankful they were. A truly perfect day!

From the couple… Mark’s favorite moment was the private first look on the balcony and seeing Steph in her dress. Steph’s favorite moment was changing into her second look and feeling like now it was time to really celebrate and have fun.

When Two Luxury Wedding Photographers Tie the Knot in Greece

When two wedding photographers get married in Greece, you know it’s going to be magic! Talk about major European summer vibes – Anna Roussos and Thanos Asfis are giving us wanderlust with their waterfront nuptials at Cycladic Gem Villa, set against the deep azure backdrop of the Aegean Sea. The stunning sun-shaped arch is the star of the ceremony while Lily of the Valley created a day of sheer luxury and elegance, complete with floating crystal chandeliers. With so many picture-perfect moments, you don’t want to miss the Grecian romance in the full gallery by Nikola Evanastyaand video by With Heart Films

From Diane Kiameh, the wedding planner… Anna and Thanos professed their vows against a wanderlust backdrop surrounded by their nearest and dearest in the mesmerizing Cycladic Gem villa on the exclusive island of Ios. A customized sun arch served as both the main inspiration and canvas for their nuptials as it dazzled on the edge of a waterfront Grecian inspired amphitheater and against the deep azure shades of the Aegean Sea.

The color palette of nude and blush tones was enhanced with gold accents. The flowers were of a mix of garden roses complemented by bleached foliage.

The reception table was covered with a delicate beige tablecloth. Modern tableware consisting of gold cutlery and striped glasses as well as sophisticated porcelain dinner plates completed the contemporary mood. Blush taper candles placed on long gold candleholders and floating crystal chandeliers added the final luxury touches to the romantic set-up.

The stunning gown by Annadi designed especially for Anna’s big day was embellished with a long dreamy cape and paired perfectly with the aesthetics of the wedding event. The groom on the other hand looked dapper in his bespoke white and black tuxedo. Their day was just a dream and friends and family were thrilled to celebrate their union!

This Stylish Special Day Proves A Bride Really Can Have It All

What if your wedding could be everything you dreamed of and more? With a lace Oscar De La Renta gown, sparkling bridesmaid dresses, and an abundance of blush blooms by Sophie Felts Floral Design –  Tayler and Kunal’s Big Day was exactly that.  Planned by The Hitched Company, we are so here for all the wow monets and carefully curated details.  From the utterly romantic ceremony to the Meridian House reception, each meaningful moment is elegantly captured by Alicia Lacey Photography.  You can see it all inside the full gallery.

From The Hitched CompanyTayler and Kunal were married in the iconic Linden Grove during their Meridian House summer wedding in Washington, D. C. Tayler looked absolutely flawless in her Oscar De La Renta wedding gown and Cinderella Jimmy Choos that were — literally — fit for a princess straight out of a Disney fairytale. And Kunal was nothing short of dapper himself, selecting a white dinner jacket to pair with his sharp tuxedo. Pair that with the talented ladies of The Hitched Company, and show-stopping floral designs by Erica at Sophie Felts Floral Design and there was simply no way this day could be anything less than amazing.

Alicia Lacey Photography photographed this beauty of a day to perfection, capturing all the moments that made this day so special. But all of the “pretty stuff” aside, at the core of this wedding day was a couple who couldn’t wait to spend the rest of their lives together. By some chance of fate, these two met on their first day of medical school at Brown University. Tayler even remembers texting her mom that she just met the man she was going to marry. And while friends may have teased Tayler that her tenacious spirit simply wouldn’t allow for any option, they did come to a crossroads in their relationship as they neared graduation. Recent medical graduates are placed, based on their specialty, at any one of the educational medical campuses across the country.

Tayler could’ve ended up in D. C. While Kunal was across the country in California, or any number of seemingly infinite combinations. So when Match Day came, they knew it could mean the end for them — years apart from one another makes a relationship nearly impossible when working around the clock in your first years of residency. Despite the most impossible odds, when they opened their red envelopes, they found that they would both be completing their residencies in New York City. It sends chills down my spine when I think how unlikely this was and it really makes me believe it was fate.

A Romantic Philadelphia Wedding So Chic We Wish We Were Invited!

Mary Kate and Achille’s wedding has us wishing we had scored an invitation! The couple’s relationship started with prosecco, so it was only fitting that Elizabeth Bailey Wedding helped them plan an Italian-inspired day.  The tented reception dripped in greenery, bringing the outdoors in, and Winsome Floral covered tables in artful floral arrangements mixed with organic fresh fruit.  You can feel the joy and love of the day in the eye-catching imagery by Liz Andolina Photography. Visit the full gallery for a closer look.

Mary Kate and Achille’s wedding was a beautiful blend of their Italian and Irish heritage. Held at Cairnwood Estate outside of Philadelphia, the vibe was black tie, fun, and Italian-inspired. From Mary Kate’s stunning Monique Lhuillier gown to the hilarious toasts, this was a wedding their guests would never forget. Cairnwood Estate was transformed into an Italian villa. With hanging greenery, dogwood, and chandeliers, Winsome Floral evoked a Tuscan garden within the tent on the back terrace. Mary Kate and Achille met in NYC, at an Italian restaurant where Achille was working. Their relationship started over prosecco, so it was only fitting their wedding would transport their guests to Italy. Mary Kate wore a custom robe while getting ready at Cairnwood Estate, before heading to her first look in her gorgeous Monique Lhuillier gown with Achille on the property.

Sticking with a neutral color palette, Winsome Floral created beautiful bouquets of white and greenery that popped beautifully against the silk champagne bridesmaid dresses. Plume Calligraphy created timeless yet modern invitations with eye-catching calligraphy that was incorporated into the rest of the wedding day paper. The wedding took place at a church nearby, where in a nod to Mary Kate’s heritage, a bagpiper welcomed guests as they arrived and walked ahead of Mary Kate and her father down the aisle.

A vintage Cadillac (loaned from a family friend) gave the bride and groom the perfect Italian getaway moment on their way back to the venue. Achille’s family owns a local Italian restaurant, so guests were treated to freshly sliced prosciutto, prosecco, various cocktails at the outdoor bar, and a three-course Italian dinner complete with a pasta and meat course, and wine. As favors, guests received handmade olive oil gifts personalized with their names. The toasts by the bridal party had the guests in tears of laughter, and everyone danced the night away with the band in the ballroom.

Italian Elopement Inspiration With a Warm, Early Autumn Palette

That’s amore! This Australian elopement at Guestlands is giving coastal Italian vibes with an alfresco setting! Today’s micro-celebration was the epitome of fresh and vibrant, balanced with sleek, minimalist touches. Two Wild Hands’ classic floral arrangements paired beautifully with olive leaf accents, symbolizing togetherness. Sheri McMahon Photography styled and captured every last detail – immerse yourself in the flavors of this Italian-inspired beauty at the full gallery!

The vision and concept around this Fresh Romantic Italian ALfresco Elopement were designed around this stunning Italian Village, Guestlands. I wanted to bring together an Italian dining experience. The true Italian feeling of family and friends gathering together over a glass of red wine and good food, alfresco style. A setting to host a micro wedding and what this could look and feel like.

The table was styled with minimal fresh flowers and a touch of lemons all the fine art details to create the feeling of warmth, togetherness and connection while guests dined in the cobbled streets. It truly felt like we had flowed all the way to Italy, yet we didn’t even leave Australia.

A colour palette of yellow and mustard tones along with olive leaf to compliment the buildings but also bring together the timeless look and feel of Italy. The gowns were custom-made by a very talented Indonesian designer, Tanzilia. Offers both classic and romantic looks to complete the Italian feeling.

Grown Brilliance Brings You The That Girl Starter Pack…And Who Wouldn’t Want To Be Her?

She never tries too hard. Her home is bright and uncluttered and her bookshelf is color coordinated. She knows just how to tuck in her shirt and always looks put together. She has a separate cubby for each pair of shoes. She’s rocking a capsule wardrobe and all of her hangers match. She’s “that girl” and who wouldn’t want to be her? Introducing the that girl starter pack from Grown Brilliance

That Girl Only Wears Staple Pieces

She’s always on point because she doesn’t waste her $ on trends. She invests in quality staple pieces. Her engagement ring is delicate and timeless with clean lines. Every girl has her go-to pieces of jewelry, and with a curated collection like this one, it’s easy to look effortlessly chic. Here’s how to get the look:

Simple Hoop Earrings

For that girl it’s all about minimalism. Nothing too ornate or too flashy. Invest in a few pairs of simple hoop earrings that can go with anything. Go for a small set like these Huggie Hoops that you can leave in and wear every day and then get one set with a little more bling to wear as your statement piece for a night out.

Tennis Bracelets

It doesn’t get more timeless than a tennis bracelet and Grown Brilliance has a great selection! That girl is all about layering, throw on those diamond tennis bracelets like it’s no big deal. But, make sure that each bracelet means something to you. Get yourself one for your new promotion, one for your big cross-country move, and maybe ask for one for your anniversary. Get a few different sizes to add some dimension to your stack. We’re in love with the Five Stations Tennis Bracelet

Stackable Rings

Just like tennis bracelets, with rings, the more, the merrier. But nothing too gaudy! Simple stacks of bands like this modern Earth Wave ring or this simple pave band. Pair these babies with a perfect minimalist mani and you’re golden.

Modern Wedding Set

Her engagement ring is the only ring that has a center stone, so it’s a big one. But, it’s not too flashy. Skip the halo and go for something clean and modern like a big emerald-cut diamond with a simple band. For the wedding band, that girl would choose something hearty to set it apart from her other stackable rings like this East-West Emerald Eternity Band

That Girl Is Socially and Environmentally Conscious…and She Lets Everyone Know It

If anyone compliments her ring (which they will), she tells them that it’s a lab-grown diamond. Lab-grown diamonds are in fact real diamonds, just without any of the questionable origins of their mined counterparts. They’re every bit as beautiful and because they’re more affordable your budget can stretch a little further, which is great because that girl is rocking at least 2ct.

And that girl definitely follows @grownbrilliance on Instagram…just sayin.

Sophisticated Barn Wedding in the Rolling Hills of California Inspired by Wildflowers

You’ll love the rustic elegance of this wildflower-inspired wedding.  Sage green, light yellow, and blush come together beautifully to make this sophisticated barn wedding planned and designed by Parker Nichols Events and Design one to remember.  Golden Fields Floristry used the bride’s favorite blooms to create free-flowing arrangements filled with meaning, and Weddings By Scott and Dana beautifully documented the special day in imagery that is sure to stand the test of time.  Fall in love with every magical moment in the full gallery.

From Weddings By Scott and DanaThis whole day warmed my heart! In the springtime, the hills of Northern California can be a bit blustery, and the wind was ROUGH, but this bride and groom wouldn’t have let ANY setbacks spoil the joy on their wedding day. This was one of my favorite weddings we’ve ever photographed– read along and you’ll see all the reasons why!

From Amelia, the bride… In July of 2020 Eric and I were supposed to go on a trip to Costa Rica, but the pandemic forced us to change plans. We wound up at the cutest little remote A-frame cabin in the High Sierras. The first day we were there, we packed up a picnic and found a little valley meadow filled with wildflowers. While I was making a bite from the cheese board, Eric gave me a hand-made little book. In the book, he had written about meaningful times in our relationship and his visions for the future. As I was reading, he pulled out a ring box and asked the question when I’d finished! After I said yes, he photographed me re-reading the book with the vintage film camera he’d bought and learned to use just to document this occasion. It was perfect, and our proposal became the inspiration behind the wildflower theme of our wedding. Feeling like the day was a journey was very important to us. We made sure to choose a venue where the ceremony location was separate from the cocktail hour, which was separate from the reception area. We wanted our guests to experience a variety of setting and make it feel like multiple new reveals throughout the event to maintain energy and excitement. Additionally, we wanted to have an elegant atmosphere, but with a rustic undercurrent to keep it from feeling too stuffy. Our venue, The Haven at Tomales offered these components, as well as checking many other boxes. While we knew we wanted to be married in rolling hills of CA wine country, we didn’t want our wedding to visually focus around wine, and finding a venue where the vistas aren’t filled with vineyards was a priority. As a nature preserve, The Haven at Tomales aligns with our eco-friendly mindset and as a working farm, it lent well to the rustic elegance we were looking for (and cows for some amazing sunset shots!!). Additionally, something important to us was the drive people would be taking to the wedding. The drive to the Haven goes through miles of stunning rolling fields and hills, so the journey there just builds the expectation for a spectacular venue, and  The Haven at Tomales doesn’t disappoint when you arrive. Lastly, the bridal suite is stunning and spacious, and the groom room is a great touch. It was important to us that everyone feel like one cohesive group/family, so we implemented a few things to facilitate this desire. We did not designate bride and groom sides, allowing everyone to sit where they’d like at the ceremony. We also tried to play around with the seating chart for dinner, to encourage people to connect with people they might not have met otherwise. Additionally, we served a more informal family-style meal, instead of plated service. This allowed people to pass food around and chat. My favorite moment of day was our First Look. While it’s wonderful to have all of our friends and family gathered, the priority of the day was us. To build anticipation, we spent the night before and morning of separate, so seeing each other was a great private moment when the impact of what we were about to do really hit. It was pure excitement and happiness.

A few of my favorite things:

1. My jewelry. My dress had a very bold lace pattern and my veil was covered in pearls, so finding the right jewelry to connect the two and not get overwhelmed was critical. I worked with the most amazing jeweler Luxe Puka Shell Jewelry and she designed the perfect set of earrings and a necklace.

2. A family friend and ceramic artist based in Denver Paula Schmitt made the most incredible little ceramic bud vases that were placed at each seat, with a beautiful bloom, and served as party favors for each guest to take home.

3. The mirror seating chart. It started with hours of pinterest/etsy scrolling, then turned into scouring local antique shops to find the perfect mirror. And as a bonus, we’ll be able to have the mirror in our home as a reminder for years to come!

4. Our wedding had a wildflower theme, which we wanted to flow consistently through every single element. This started with the invitations. Our stationer Little Bird Paper Company helped us achieve this vision better than we could have dreamed. The organic paper, sage green ink, and blind press of a flower were all exquisite touches, but what we loved most was the wax seal with dried flowers pressed into it. It was the perfect personal touch. We additionally then used this elsewhere in the day-of stationery (seating chart, place cards) to tie it all together.

5. To make the place settings feel more casual, yet still intentional, we tied the napkins into knots as a more unconventional accent.

6. We made our own tablecloth for the cake table. My mom and I scoured fabric shops to find the perfect floral and sequined, yet still understated, fabric to adorn the cake table. We wanted to make sure it was a special fabric, not used anywhere else, to really make it stand out. Additionally, the sequins in the material sparkled beautifully under the spotlight and photographed great.

This one might seem small, but it’s been impactful. I made sure to let the florist know what flowers are meaningful to me. Golden Fields Floristry did a fantastic job incorporating them, and now as I walk around my neighborhood, I see some of my favorite flowers and think back to the wedding. Write each other cards to read on the morning of the wedding. We each took time before the wedding to put our emotions into letters for each other and had our best man/maid of honor exchange them at the venue. Taking a quiet moment to read them is a great way to not only build anticipation for what’s about to happen but just remind yourself why this is the person you’ve chosen to spend the rest of your life with. We also each wrote a letter to each of the four parents. Then, when we were getting ready, we sat down and gave them to each of them. It was a chance to not only tell our own parents how much we appreciate them, but it was also a very personal opportunity to tell the in-laws-to-be how excited we each were to join the respective families. For both of us, the moments of giving the parents the cards were very emotional and meaningful. I think everyone’s heard this already, but it’s true – but it’s worth mentioning again– if a little detail is off on the day of the wedding, don’t worry about it. No one else is going to notice. You’ve put in so much work to make the day wonderful, that even if it’s 95% of what you had planned, that still means it’s amazing, so just enjoy it. Also, I highly recommend making a wedding checklist early! We were lucky that our planner Parker Nichols Events and Design sent us over a huge checklist as soon as we started planning and it was a lifesaver when things started to get busier and we worried about forgetting things. We could always check the list, and be confident we were still on track.

Discover One of Tuscany’s Most Picturesque Venues in Orvieto

The beautiful La Badia di Orvieto is complete with a Romanesque chapel, cypress-lined roads and endless views of rolling Tuscan hills – I mean, need we say more?! Old world romantics will swoon over today’s gallery captured by Faith Roper PhotographyJanna Brown Design Co designed and styled every thoughtful detail of this gorgeous shoot, with coordination by CheChic!Weddings. Trust us, it won’t take long to see why we’ve coined La Badia as one of the most picturesque venues in Italy!

Set outside of a hill town in the Umbria region of Italy, La Badia di Orvieto is a Benedictine abbey built around 1100 that now serves as a gorgeous hotel and wedding venue. The space is a blend of medieval castle vibes with its tower and ruins and the romantic Romanesque chapel with 13th century frescoes. Cypress trees line the driveway, and an olive grove borders the venue for the perfect Italian countryside vibe.

For this wedding editorial, the bride, Carlotta, wore a lace Reem Acra gown embellished with delicate pearl beads and carried an oversized bouquet of white and cream peonies, roses, ranunculus, and more. The delicate florals and lace of the gown stand in contrast against the roughness of the stone and ruins. The handsome groom wore a classic black tuxedo. Our day began with separate bridal and groom portraits in the candle-lit stone chapel and its fresco adorned room. Paper goods by Prairie & Sage are fitting the medieval castle meets Italian countryside style.

Our ceremony was set in the courtyard with dark wooden chairs fitting a castle celebration. The reception was held under the dramatic archway ruins, with round tables laden with lush bouquets of white and cream florals, including the most gorgeous peonies you have ever seen. Couple portraits around the venue ended with a walk in the olive grove at sunset to enjoy the view of the Orvieto skyline with the Duomo as the star. The editorial was designed and styled by Janna Brown Design, with coordination by Che Chic Weddings, and photography by Faith Roper Photography.

A Meaningful Summer Soirée Filled With Carefully Curated Details

This beautiful blue and white Chinoiserie-inspired wedding is filled with special touches.  Christina Baxter Weddings & Events planned a day filled with the couple’s favorites from late-night Chick-fil-A to a funfetti wedding cake! Blossoms Events turned the indoor reception into a secret garden with lush blooms that seemed to grow from the bar, walls, and ceiling! Every magical moment of the day was artfully captured in imagery by Kelli Boyd, visit the full galley for a closer look.

From Christina Baxter Weddings & Events… Courtney is a New York girl who always dreamt of getting married in the south. Once her and Mitchell got engaged in 2018, they started compiling a list of gorgeous venues in the southeast to visit and hopefully find the right match. The Montage Palmetto Bluff was the perfect setting. Courtney wanted a romantic, elegant garden feel. She really loved the classic blue and white design style, especially Chinoiserie. All of the florals were in blue and white Chinoiserie porcelain vases and jars from Courtney and her mother’s personal collection. It was very important to her to have an impactful bar that anchored the room, with lots of candles to give the room a warmth and glow about it.

From the bride… My mom and I love orchids, she always has orchids in our homes. It has kind of become our thing that a house isn’t a home until you have an orchid in it. So having a big orchid arrangement gave the cocktail hour the homey feel I wanted.

Mitch and I love Chick-fil-A and one time many years ago Mitch had told me he never had it, I made us get into the car and drive 2 hours to the nearest Chick-fil-A so he could try it. We still talk about this being one of our fondest spontaneous date memories together. I LOVE cake! Funfetti is my absolute favorite cake flavor that I’ve had my mom make every year for 27 years for every birthday. Because my 28th birthday was the day before the wedding, I thought what better cake to have than Funfetti on my wedding cake!

Show Your Girls How Much They Mean To You–With Diamonds!

From hiding in the bushes to get you that perfect shot when they popped the question to throwing you an epic bachelorette weekend and everything else in between, your besties have gone above and beyond to make your big day as magical as can be. You want to give them something to show them how much they mean to you and how thankful you are to have them in your life. While there are plenty of trinkets advertised as bridesmaid gifts, your girls deserve something that will last as long as the memories you’ve made together, but also something that won’t break the bank because (let’s face it) planning a wedding is expensive. Thankfully Grown Brilliance has a line of bridesmaid gifts made from real precious metals and diamonds that make the perfect gifts for your girls.

For The Day Of And Far Beyond

These timeless pieces not only make great gifts, your bridesmaids can wear them with their dress on the big day. When shopping for bridesmaid accessories make sure to consider the cut of the dress. If your bridesmaids are wearing something with a high neckline, consider a tasteful pair of studs or some simple hoop earrings. If their dresses are strapless or have a plunging neckline, a pendant necklace is the perfect accent. We also love the idea of stackable rings that you can continue to add to for different milestones in your friendship.

Earrings

When it comes to gifting, you can’t go wrong with a solid pair of studs, and Grown Brilliance has something for every style. From dainty diamond clusters to classic solitaires, these are earrings your girls will love and wear long after your wedding. Depending on your wedding color palette, you can select from 14K options in white, yellow, and rose gold and even customize the size of the diamonds!

Pendant Necklaces

Necklaces are a classic bridesmaid gift and Grown Brilliance has some of our faves to date! Go with something that will look as good with jeans and a t-shirt as it does with their bridesmaid dress, like the Round Lab Grown Diamond Teardrop Fashion Pendant or the Round Lab Grown Diamond Three Stone Fashion Pendant.

Stackable Rings

If you’re feeling a little extra, pull an Ariana Grande and get each of your girls matching diamond rings. You’ll feel like a badass without having to break the bank with diamond rings starting at just $140! And, honestly, what girl wouldn’t like getting a diamond ring?

A Modern Boho Florida Wedding Overlooking The Ocean

These fabulous Florida nuptials are relaxed elegance at its finest.  Filled with a coastal cool aesthetic planned by Mariée Ami, we love everything from the pampas grass filled beachside ceremony to an open-aired reception filled with rattan chandeliers.  Botanica filled the day with epic floral installations like a flower covered mobile bar that is an absolute must-see! You’ll fall in love with every artful image exquisitely captured by Davy Whitener Photography, visit the full gallery for a closer look at all the fun.

From the bride… We met at Auburn University when Peter was a freshman and I was a senior in high school but would take weekend trips to visit my older friends at the university. When Peter returned home from his first semester at college, he told his mom that he had eyes for only one girl, Mary Grace Burton. I loved the hometown feel of Auburn and became Peter’s girlfriend the September of my freshman year. We dated throughout college and became long-distance after Peter graduated and he moved to Sarasota, Florida. Soon after my graduation, Peter took us to Venice, Florida to celebrate and relax before the “real world” with jobs and schedules took over. We dressed up for a nice dinner and went to the beach prior for a little picnic with wine and a charcuterie board. There he popped the question, and we stayed on the beach to watch the sunset and take pictures with the photographer he hired. When we returned home from the trip, my parents hosted the most amazing engagement celebration with all our friends and family in my grandparents’ backyard. We were engaged June 12, 2021, and planned our wedding in 7 months with the help of Chelsea Bell and Neillie Butler of Mariée Ami. I grew up visiting Boca Grande as my family’s “beach spot” and Peter and I have an immense love of sunshine and the beach. We wanted the wedding to be more of an intimate crowd, so went with a destination wedding for 130 guests. My parents (not coincidentally!) had just bought a house on the island, and they were loving the thought of spending more time there. We thought why not do a beach wedding, who doesn’t love the beach? So we picked the Boca Bay Pass Club because not only did it have an opening in January, but the venue is just gorgeous overlooking the ocean. I loved that the wedding ceremony and reception all took place in the same venue, and that guests didn’t have to move to another location for the reception. Boca Grande is a cute, yet private small town, so we couldn’t resist going along with an understated beach theme. It was a traditional Christian ceremony that was beautifully held by Pastor Michael Brock, who also ordained the ceremony for my twin brother in May of 2021. We encouraged and provided guests with crafts to decorate their golf carts, and my bridal crew and I drove around in Kappy’s Karts rental called the “Royal Ride.”

Obi (short for Obadiah) is one of three of my parents’ labradoodles and came along to “be” in the wedding. He did not attend the ceremony but hung around for pictures and rubs, and so was deemed “best dog”. My favorite color is pink, so picking out the bridesmaid’s dresses was easy, and I went with a color called “blushing bride” that complimented the sunset and the blue ocean perfectly. When we started designing the invitations, I wanted them to pop the most. The goal was for a fun invitation that was bright, bold, and unique. We went with colors that mirrored the ocean. I wanted it to be an elegant, sea glass beach look with a slight hint of boho to bring in the theme of Boca Grande. For the overall fashion look, I went for elegance. I wanted a clean put together look, with the ocean’s ambiance alongside flowers to represent movement and calmness. I also wanted it to be unique… something created, not copied. I got my bridesmaids matching earrings and suggested their hair down, but otherwise told them to have their makeup done however they wish, and with whatever shoes and jewelry they wanted. I loved that it brought an element of each of the girls’ personalities. For flowers, we used Botanica and all credit goes to my florist Ian Prosser! We talked about the theme, vibe, and pictures I’d seen and liked, and he proposed the most amazing creation. He selected twenty-three different blooms. My bridal bouquet was everything I was looking for and the roses were dedicated to the remembrance of John William Burton “Pop,” my paternal grandfather, and Levi Mayes Burton, my younger brother.

Even though Peter and I might be considered “foodies,” we went with the classics for our menu. Caesar salad, lemon thyme roasted chicken, garlic roasted stripling of beef, loaded baked potatoes, butter steamed broccoli florets and penne Alfredo. I told Peter after the tasting that chicken was the best chicken I’ve ever had! We also had a full bar and my guests are still raving about the food and provided cocktails. You can never go wrong with chicken, greens, and potatoes! We also had a variety of different hors d’oeuvres, including spicy crab sushi roll, grilled and herbed marinated chilled gulf shrimp, pan-seared mini crab cakes, and fresh mozzarella arancini, and duck confit wonton. Our first dance was “Perfect,” by Ed Sheeran. It’s always been our song since it was first released. The father-daughter song was a mix-up, it started with “Wildflowers,” by Tom Petty and ended with “Let’s Go Crazy,” by Prince, which was a major crowd pleaser and so fun for me and my dad to let loose on the dance floor before everyone else. My favorite memory from the day was having all the people we love the most in one spot celebrating and cheering us on. It’s just the most wonderful blessing anyone could have and you get to have your best friend by your side experiencing it with you! It’s an overwhelming feeling you get when you are surrounded at one time with everyone who you love and who loves you! I also COULD NOT have done it without my mother and our wedding planners. There are five Burton siblings and four of us have gotten or are getting married in the span of 13 months (I’m the third in the line)! All the weddings have been so unique to each sibling and I give so much credit to my parents for supporting and encouraging all of us and being by our sides every step of the way. And my advice for couples planning their wedding: If you have wedding planners, I suggest you do as little or as much as you want! For example, I had ideas for my flowers, but don’t know too much about them, so I took the planner’s suggestion for a great florist. After just one conversation without specifics, he was able to create my vision. I did this in many aspects of my wedding. For me, it was so relieving to let the professionals do what they are best at. It will be beautiful, and you don’t have to come with a list of A-Z of what you want, a simple vision is just enough for them to work their magic!

College Sweethearts Wed in Tropical Key West Soirée

When your sister is a majorly talented event designer – one, you’re the luckiest bride ever… and two, you know your wedding is going to be everything you dreamed of and more. Today’s gorgeous couple tied the knot in a vibrant, colorful celebration set in sunny Key West planned by Kate Murtaugh Events & DesignBeach Plum Floral Design created epic arrangements that will transport you straight to a tropical oasis. The night ended in classic Floridian style, complete with a pastel watercolor sky – don’t miss out on the full gallery of beach wedding inspo all captured by Stephanie Vegliante Photography!

From Kate Murtaugh Events & Design… With a passion for travel and a love of hosting and spending time with loved ones, it didn’t take long for college sweethearts Hannah and Connor to choose Key West as the beautiful backdrop to their destination wedding. Hannah is a full-time COVID-19 ICU nurse so planning a wedding was tough during the pandemic. Still, it came incredibly appreciated and well-deserved for all the time and dedication she put into her patients and their care.

“Navigating the pandemic as a first responder really helped put wedding planning into perspective for me. At the end of the day, your love together is all that matters,” says Hannah. We were fortunate to travel to a special spot and hug and dance with our family and friends! It’s not lost on us that so many people couldn’t do that.”

Hannah and Connor’s wedding week was filled to the brim with excursions for their out-of-town guests, including a catamaran cruise around the Gulf of Mexico and a welcome party in the heart of Key West on the historic Duval Street. It was important for the couple to entertain their guests from start to finish and to leave feeling like Key West had a piece of their guests’ hearts.

On the wedding day, Connor and Hannah’s sun-filled ceremony was at the island’s historic The Basilica of Saint Mary Star of the Sea, surrounded by their closest friends, family, and the beautiful Spanish-influenced architecture. Afterward, the couple and their guests were whisked away to a lovely seaside tented soiree at the Casa Marina inspired by the tropics and Key West’s incredible natural environment.

The bride’s sister and Matron of Honor, Kate of Kate Murtaugh Events & Design, carefully curated the celebration with vibrant and colorful hues and personal touches, including custom stationery from Karli Strohschein, fine details like Thai silk tassels, and modern patterned linens from La Tavola. Beach Plum Floral Design designed organic floral arrangements evoking a tropical oasis, including native growing flowers, plants, and exotic fruits. Guests enjoyed cocktails on the sand against a famous Key West watercolor sunset before entering a glittering clear top tent to dine under the stars, dance to live music from Bay Kings Band, and snack on the bride’s favorite: Key Lime Pie for dessert.

“After deciding the wedding would be in Key West, we had a specific vision of what we imagined for our wedding day. We came to my sister and her team and decided we wanted to do something different for our big day. Our most significant request was for the design to reflect our personalities and the type of wedding we wanted; fun, bright, and colorful. As our excitement grew through the months of planning and working through vision boards and color palettes, the moment we stepped into the tent on our wedding day to see what we, KMED, and our amazing vendors had created was unparalleled.”

An Organic Free-Flowing Editorial Done In Neutral And A Splash Of Strawberry

Neutrals and a splash of strawberry red lead the design palette for this San Francisco editorial shoot. Woven baskets, fresh fruit, and wooden elements add to the free-flowing feel of the dreamy day all expertly designed and planned by H & L Lovely Creations.  The reception showcases a serpentine table covered in beautiful blooms by olivewood florals that will take your breath away.  Every darling detail was artfully captured in the imagery by Iann Ivy, see it all inside the full gallery.

From H & L Lovely CreationsThis shoot was inspired by the European look of the beautiful Gardens of Filoli in the city of San Francisco where beautiful architecture, secluded colorful gardens, and water features are the main ornate of the property. You feel transported to a magical place and can connect with nature as soon as you step into it.

With the idea of bringing something organic and flowy as the principal vision, we played with mainly neutral colors and added a touch of strawberry reds to it. Elements like baskets, benches, and fruit preserves were also used to enhance the idea of the natural/earthy inspiration. A 3-tier cake with painted flowers was displayed.

A serpentine table with all the details was at the center of the gardens to welcome the guests for a special alfresco celebration, inviting them to enjoy the space and the view. The bride wore a Monique Lhuillier gown full of floral appliqué details and the couple’s furry “son” was also invited wearing a cute black pet tux.

Come Registry Hunting With Us In Real Life With Waterford!

In-between the squealed “yes!” and the teary “I do!” of your wedding season comes one of best movie montage moments for home enthusiasts alike — the registry hunt. Now a-days most registering happens online (sans the scan gun, which we think is a bit of a travesty) and that also means you can miss out a bit on getting your hands on the products to recognize the quality.

So we did the in-person research for you! Our content team headed down to do an exclusive tour of the private Waterford showroom in NYC to get an up-close-and-personal look at all of their most recent products.

Registering Intentionally 101

Here’s the thing about a registry — this is the time to be practical, sure, but it’s also the time to think of items that will become staple elements in your newly shared home. So have some fun! Pick items with a nod to longevity and luxury that allows you to appreciate them for years to come. And to be quite honest, we don’t think a registry is complete without crystal.  The clarity, heritage and craftsmanship that goes into a well-cut collection of Waterford crystal is just the right amount of pizzazz to add in your home and everyday moments. And as Katherine Heigl pointed out in 27 Dresses, it’s not just a vase, it’s the vase that he’ll forever use to put his “just because” flowers in. So that vase needs to be quality.

And a registry is a time to revel in quality. You’ll want to look at theses items and remember who got them for you at your wedding, and as each year passes you can fondly know that this clock or that bowl has been around since you and your spouse have been together. And you just know there’s a favorite aunt or second cousin out there somewhere who’s dying to send you a vodka chill set with shot glasses  (one of our absolute favorite items in the showroom, won’t lie)

So come on besties, walk with us through the exploration process in the Waterford Showroom.

Picking Your Style

From gorgeous classics to a more modern cut, Waterford has an array of options for you and your future spouse to choose from that all instantly elevate your home, no matter the style.

Classic Cuts

When you think of Waterford, their classic Lismore cut glasses, decanters, vases come to mind first, and with good reason. The Lismore pattern has been around since 1952 when Waterford was revitalized by Czech Miroslav Havel and it is now the most popular cut in crystal. When you’re looking for classic (which is always a good idea when registering, we might add) you simply can’t go wrong with a classic cut.

This classic crystal cut also translates in to fun home decor items like perfume bottles, photo frames and trays if you want to think outside of the kitchen or bar and expand your collection to other parts of the home!

And if you’re looking for a really spectacular way to elevate an everyday item, look no further than the  absolutely *gorgeous* Irish lace bowls and thank us later when your fruit looks undeniably chic.

Fun Patterns

One of the surprising frontrunners in our quest to find the perfect registry item was something we didn’t even know existed until we saw it in the showroom — the Stellar Collection! And when we read the history on it, we fell in love with it even more.

The Irish stargazing heritage is brought to life with the zodiac tumblers, so if you’re the type of person who checks your horoscope daily or has a general appreciation for the night sky, this collection is for you! It’s modern, fun and provides amazing talking points at any gathering you host at your home!

Modern Lines and Moody Adaptations

But, my friends, the core value of crystal can be translated to a myriad of other design styles. If your style is more modern, we can attest that the Lismore Arcus pattern is absolutely stunning in real life. Chefs kiss, sign us up.

Or if you’re into a moodier translation of a classic cut, take a look at the Lismore Black collection and be prepared to swoon. If you’re a #nightlux kind of gal, this is the collection for you.

Items You Can Feel Good About

Emma Watson once said the key to shopping sustainably is to keep items out of a landfill, and translated to home purchases that means keeping an eye on quality while you shop. Not only does Waterford literally *define* longevity, but as a company they’ve made significant efforts to make their product friendly to the environment.

Waterford has spent the past few years developing a formula to create crystal so clear (like, crystal clear incase you were wondering where the phrase came from) that is 100% recyclable. The new material is twice as strong and more resistant to heat, meaning Waterford craftsmen can create designs with deeper, sharper cuts to develop more luxurious designs.

Waterford has also adapted the way they create their products by designing state-of-the-art factories, which recover the maximum amount of energy. As a result, the electricity in the manufacturing process is now 100% renewable. What’s more, the water used throughout the production process is constantly cleaned, recycled, and reused, without a single drop wasted in the creation of the product.

*In accordance with national recycling legislation and local requirements in countries where Waterford is sold.

In addition to their sustainability efforts, one of the best things about Waterford is that your participating in history of classic glass-making. On their website they say “technology is no replacement for proficiency, and our Master Craftsmen possess exemplary artisanal talent” and reading through the process of how each Mastercraft piece is made will likely blow your mind.

Waterford has preserved the art-form of mold-made, hand blown, and Master cut (yes, as in a human Master Cutter) crystal making with several inspection points to insure the finest hand-created quality you could ask for.

One of the most obvious things getting to walk through and see the products in person was how big of a difference there is in the quality of Waterford crystal. The weight of the products felt substantial, the intricate details were even more stunning in person, and even though it was a bit of a cloudy day outside, the crystal still had a shine to it that was unreal. You can trust us when we say we felt like we were picking up items that were hand-cared for and masterfully made.

How To Register for Waterford

The good news is that Waterford is easily added to your registry no matter where you house it! First and foremost, you can actually set up a registry on their site guaranteeing you get access to all of their best product selections. Not to mention all of the major registry stores have a selection of Waterford to choose from.

But even with all of the online options, we can’t stress enough the fun to be had by going on the hunt in person! Many luxury retails and department stores that carry registry options allow you to go in store and see the items up close and in person, and if you choose your store correctly, you might even get a scan gun of your own! (Call ahead and see if the store still uses scan guns for registry items, it’s half of the fun)

Waterford in Your Home After The Wedding

After the ido’s come and go, setting up your first home as an officially married couple is just fun. Stay tuned with us as we walk through some of the best ways to use the Waterford you registered for in your daily moments!
