32 Classic Baby Girl Names + Matching Nicknames

I always loved my great grandmother’s name: Delphine. She was a petite little French woman who went by ‘Del’, always had a tall glass of beer with dinner and painted sweet landscape pictures in her spare time. She was mémère to me, but her classic name will always hold a place in my heart. On the hunt for a classic name for your baby girl? Here are 32 gems along with sweet nick names to match.

How to Mix Rustic Chic with Black Tie Elegance

The Bride’s favorite detail of her day was the florals from Amaryllis Event Design, and we can see why. In rich fall shades of aubergine, navy, larkspur blue, burgundy and hints of blush, the lush arrangements of roses, anemones and garden roses added a touch of romance to this “rustic chic” fall day. See all the pretty, thanks to Readyluck, in The Vault!

From The Bride…Before getting engaged, I never imagined what my dream wedding would be like. All Ian and I knew was that we wanted a fall wedding in a special venue where the autumnal beauty would be a backdrop for our big day. After many hours of searching on Style Me Pretty, Pinterest, and any other website I could think of, I knew I had to have a barn wedding with a ‘rustic chic’ theme. Once we chose our venue, a beautiful 3-level barn on exquisite grounds, all of the fine details started coming together.

When choosing my color palette and bridesmaid dresses, I knew I wanted all 12 girls to pick whatever style they felt most comfortable in and also their favorite color in my palette: aubergine, blush, midnight navy, and larkspur blue. The final color in my palette, burgundy, was used in all of the flowers (and my manicure) to tie all of the bridesmaids together to make a cohesive story.

Speaking of flowers, I could not be more obsessed with my bouquet, my bridesmaids’ bouquets and the floral decor on the chuppah! It’s hard to pick a favorite but all of the flower arrangements from our wedding are my favorite detail of the entire day. Amaryllis executed my vision PERFECTLY and I could not be happier with how all of the flowers turned out!

Another favorite detail of our wedding was the naked wedding cake Graul’s made for us – it was not only delicious but absolutely beautiful and exactly what we wanted. Our wedding day felt like an absolute dream and we are so thankful for our amazing team who executed it so flawlessly. Thanks to the amazing photography of Lindsay from READYLUCK, we get to relive the best day of our lives over and over again!

This Parisian Engagement Session Delivers Major Goals

Can we please discuss how incredibly CHIC this engagement session is? For starters, what’s better than running through the cobblestone streets of Paris with the one you love? I’ll tell you what, absolutely nothing – that’s what. And thanks to the talented Romance Weddings we’re proving just that with this The Vault!

From Romance WeddingsSlip off your sparkly shoes, pour yourself a glass of champagne, and imagine you’re strolling through the streets of Paris with your love!

Clara and Carlos are getting married in July of 2016 and I’m so excited that they’ve asked me to help them plan and style their dreamy engagement session in Paris. Clara wore an amazing ethereal gown by @dreamsbyisabella.

This selection of images are like a little peek their session. We wanted the overall look of the shoot to reflect the two of them as a couple and this is why specifically looked for a film photographer for the dreamy and timeless nature of this old- photography medium.

It is always a pleasure when we (Mar and Joseba) can shoot in dreamy destination as Paris certainly is!

Relive All Those Ballerina Dreams With This Inspired Wedding Shoot

Disclaimer: I danced for 14+ years and in the time since I stopped putting my pointe shoes on, my love for the art has never waned. So East Made Event Company’s scene is straight out of my dreams, complete with real ballerinas – and newlyweds – and pretty pieces from Paisley & Jade. Josh Gooden filmed the beauty and our Vault is looking mighty fine with all these twirls. And so, Love by Serena, enough with my fawning; can I please order prints of all of these pics pretty please?

From Love by Serena… We were so lucky to be able to work with talented professional ballet dancers from the Richmond Ballet, Valerie and Kirk Henning. Newlyweds themselves, Valerie and Kirk wed last summer at the Carpenter Theater in Richmond.

You may recognize the couple from this viral video of Kirk and his groomsmen performing an 8-minute choreographed dance for Valerie at their wedding. If you haven’t seen it before, you must watch!

From Josh & Serena… The concept for this shoot began with one word: movement. We had been longing to collaborate on a piece that was centered around the love of two dancers.

Josh was inspired by the emotional side of dancing. The beginning of the film centers on the isolation and subtle movement before the two lovers meet. A combination of pronounced cinematic movement and raw “handheld” camera work strives to convey a dance of both elegance and emotion.

From East Made Event Company… In addition to being a wedding planner, I am a professionally-trained classical violist with the Richmond Symphony, and loved the idea of designing a shoot around an artistic musical theme. The Branch Museum of Architecture and Design in Richmond, Virginia provided a stunning location with ceiling-high windows and beautiful marble floors. We used all three main rooms within the museum so we could take advantage of the streaming sunlight and antique feel.

For the shoot details, I used shades of dusty lilac, fig, and muted gold to create a spring color palette with a touch of black. Alexandra Grecco had just designed a delicate lilac cami and skirt which fit into our theme perfectly and provided contrast to the flowy, ivory Elizabeth Dye gown. We focused greatly on the concept of movement: how the gowns would react as our model danced, the cascading table linens, the diagonal florals and cake pattern, and the hand-marbled paper and sheet music calligraphy envelope liner. My goal was to have every element of the shoot have a purpose and connection to our dancing couple.

I was incredibly impressed by how much attention and care all of our vendors brought to this shoot. I hope these photos and video will inspire you to attend a ballet, symphony concert, or other live performance and take pleasure in the live beauty of music, dance, and art.

Peek Inside the Light and Bright Studio of an Etsy Artist

Having a great workspace is everything; especially for those in the creative field. There’s nothing quite like an inspiring space to call your very own. For this etsy designer, her dream office is a light, bright blank canvas that lets her fun fabric take center stage. Step inside the HQ for By George! Baby Boutique shot by Stephanie Elliott and get inspired to craft your own office dreamland.

By George! Baby Boutique was born of a creatively-frustrated English Master’s student. In a field that felt socially isolating and lacking in visual beauty, I turned to bright, colorful, gorgeous fabrics and a business was born.

What started with a sewing machine on a card table has turned into a business that warrants its own dedicated studio space. When I had the chance to overhaul my studio, I chose all white furniture because I wanted the colorful fabrics I work with to stand out.

I find that I work best when my space is organized and tidy, and finding practical storage solutions were important to me. At any given time I have fabric on hand for up to 100 orders (that’s a lot of fabric!) so having a place for storage is key.

I spent the last year juggling my time between completing a BSN at Columbia University and focusing on growing my business. Having such an insanely full plate was not easy, but By George! grew exponentially over the past year and at graduation this May I wasn’t sure which accomplishment I was more proud of, my thriving business or my hard-earned degree.

My studio space is fun and inviting, and keeps me focused, even on days where I’d rather catch up on my favorite blogs and sip my iced coffee. I love that I get the chance to decorate using my own products–who else can say that there’s a changing pad permanently on display in their office?!

This Southern Wedding Is A Foodie Lover’s Dream

This Atlanta wedding is truly the best of both worlds. Elegant, heartfelt, and stylish to boot. But when it came time for the reception, this couple wanted to break the “rules” with food that reflected their Southern roots. The groom’s request? Varsity cheeseburgers and Coca Cola. Not to mention apple cobblers in the cutest mini skillets you’ve ever seen. Head to The Vault gallery by Amy Arrington and see why we can’t get enough.

From The Bride…We really wanted everyone to enjoy our neighborhood in Midtown Atlanta, which was the reason we chose the Atlanta Botanical Gardens. We had a design made of the midtown skyline and included that on their invite and the welcome bags and personalized cocktail napkins. My best friend owns a gluten free bakery in Atlanta, so we included some pumpkin bread in the welcome bag. We also included their favorite local coffee, Blue Donkey, and a koozie from our favorite brewery.

It was important to us to get married in the Catholic Church but we struggled with the mass times and the “Catholic Gap.” We chose to get married in an intimate ceremony on Friday night with wedding party only in lieu of a rehearsal. Then we had a traditional wedding ceremony on Saturday with all wedding guests at the reception site. Getting married on Friday took some of the pressure off Saturday and we got to say our vows twice in one weekend.

I wanted to include some sentimental items. My “something blue” was my maid of honor’s late mother’s wedding band, I borrowed a bridesmaid’s veil, and I affixed a compass to my bouquet which is a tradition among my friend group.

Chris likes to spice up formal wear with fun socks, so he found some special “All You Need is Love” socks. A big fan of Clemson football, Chris gave groomsmen embroidered cufflinks with their college team’s logo.

Our string quartet for the ceremony and cocktail hour was amazing. They wrote the string music for “I Will Wait for You” – a special song to us.

We really wanted to show off our southern roots with the food. Chris’ main request for the wedding weekend was to have Varsity cheeseburgers and Coca Cola for the late night snack. Our signature bride and groom cocktails were Cider Mule and an Old Fashion.

We wanted to incorporate the city where we met, Austin, TX. There’s a famous graffiti sign there that we made for the backdrop for our photo booth.

One piece of advice for couples planning a wedding…We did pre-marriage counseling through our parish and found the focus on the marriage made wedding planning a lot easier. It also helped that we had an amazing wedding planner in Marilisa. We picked the things that really mattered to us and let her take on the rest. Relinquishing control over the little things helped us spend a lot of time personalizing the day and making it special to us.

What’s Black, White, and Modern Chic? This Palm Springs Wedding.

The only thing better than planning a modern Palm Springs affair, is doing it with Karson Butler Events by your side. This bride, who’s no stranger to the event industry, put her years of experience at 100+ weddings to use and brought on the dream team to make it all happen. Abby Jiu photographed the gallery, including beautiful moments captured with the couple’s sweet baby, Chloe.

From the bride, Lauren… As someone who has been apart of the event world professionally for over 9 years, I knew the truth that Pinterest doesn’t convey – it is such hard work to make one day look and feel perfect! Brian and I had our daughter, Chloe Carlene, 8 months prior the wedding and at times I just didn’t think I could handle it all. Brian’s job in Advertising is extremely demanding (he was in Korea 10 days before our wedding!) and at the time, I was a busy Sales Director at an event rental company. How the heck were we going to do this? Truth be told, I could and we really started to enjoy the process once we had Abby Jiu (our photographer) and Emily and Amber (of Karson Butler Events) on board. Knowing that we had skilled professionals in our corner made us both rest easy. I could not recommend them all enough. If you have it in your budget to bring a coordinator and a seasoned photographer on board, do not hesitate to make the smart investment!

Brian and I love heading out to the desert from our home in Long Beach, CA. It is a short drive for us and it feels like a different world. We knew we wanted to be in central Palm Springs so that our guests could enjoy the downtown shops and restaurants, not to mention the ability to “hotel hop” if they wished! Once we found the Frederick Loewe Estate through the Venue Reporter, we were sold. It was spacious compared to a lot of private properties in the area and Brian LOVED it. Our friends and family still talk about how amazing the views of the desert mountains were that night. It makes us both so happy to hear that!!

Our love for the desert was integrated into the drink and food menu as well as 24 Carrots Catering sampled local, seasonal foods and our signature cocktails were a play off the Rat Pack’s favorite sips.

Brian and I are at the age where we have been to a lot of weddings. As mentioned, I have been apart of over 100 events professionally too. We both agreed that after our combined experiences as a guest, we wanted each and every one of the wedding guests to feel well taken care of. The welcome bags came with custom towels, a personalized wedding digital playlist, our favorite Compartes chocolate bar, sparkling water (SO good in the heat!) and yummy popcorn.

Our day-of paper designers, The Romance Between, even created a personalized letter with a hand painted image of the wedding venue. The ombre coloring of the paper complimented the Compartes chocolate.

On the actual wedding day, our coordinators (Amber + Emily) suggested that we have ample water and refreshments before the ceremony, parasols to block the desert sun and a children’s seating area adjacent to the ceremony. Our guests’ comfort was paramount throughout the day.

My favorite wedding detail was all the signage and paper products. Working with The Romance Between, Underwood Letterpress and Backup Backdrops was a paper nerd’s dream. I was in heaven during the planning and design process with all three vendors and their work blew me away the day of the wedding. For Brian, it is a tie. He became a fan of Dart DJ from tagging along to event industry events with (me) Lauren. He was so happy when they were available for our wedding day! Then of course it was the custom sign that read “I Love You Like XO” from our favorite Beyonce song. The Modest Peach helped Lauren create it and used her (the bride’s) own handwriting!

I really leaned on Kim Sanders of Art with Nature heavily during the design process. I am fortunate to have a great relationship with her and she just “gets” me. As a bride, having full trust in your vendors is crucial. She elevated the tablescape to a level I couldn’t have imagined and her gorgeous flowers made every part of the day feel special. Brian and I wanted the venue to really do “all the talking” but with the help of Found Vintage Rentals furnishings, Casa de Perrin china + glassware and all of Kim’s amazing florals, our guests (hopefully) felt like they were being entertained amongst the stars in the finest fashion!

Our ceremony was incredibly special to us both. Our officiant is a dear friend who directs commercials for a living. His guidance through the process was thoughtful and very well planned. The love was really felt during those 30 minutes, in particular when the rings were passed amongst the wedding party and our immediate family for blessings. After he announced us, we both turned to our adorable 8 month old daughter who was so still and quiet during the whole thing and was smiling away. The moment was incredible. And then Django Foxtrot played “Hold On, We’re Going Home” and it was PERFECTION!!

You’ll Love How This Bride Surprised Her Groom at Their Destination Wedding

When Chicago-based Lauren and Josh decided on a destination wedding in Southern California, it meant that their adorable pup Jackson would miss out on their big day. But to make up for his absence, Lauren surprised Josh with a life-size cutout of Jackson so could celebrate with them! See this and so many other heartfelt details from Lady Liberty Events, courtesy of onelove photography, in The Vault!

From Lady Liberty EventsWhen Lauren and Josh contacted us from Chicago to help them with their Los Angeles wedding, we instantly connected and helped put them at ease. I can’t imagine the difficulty in planning a wedding from a far…but let me tell ya, they were a dream to work with! They mostly expressed how important it was for them that the overall vibe didn’t feel stuffy, or restricted. They wanted their closest friends and family to have fun from the minute they walked inside the doors.

With the existing eclectic setting at Carondelet House and the rich colors surrounding, Lauren wanted to play with berry hues with accents of blush and gold. The exposed brick walls, rustic wood beams, and romantic vintage accents perfectly strewn throughout the venue provided us with a moody aesthetic to build off of.

The bridesmaids all held bundles of wild foliage wrapped with velvet ribbon which perfectly complimented the lush and vibrant bouquet that Lauren held. The fully bloomed peonies, fragrant garden roses, parrot tulips, pepper leaves and various breeds of fern that Crystal, from Heirloom Design House, created for Lauren was absolutely breathtaking.

The ceremony space was draped with white fabric and accented with loose foliage, and flickering candlelight. A simple yet stunning installation that could then be used to frame the sweetheart table during the reception. As a surprise to Josh, Jackson (their 80lb Lab/Boxer) made a special appearance! Knowing how important it was to feel like Jackson was a part of their day, Lauren had asked us to have a life size cut out of Jackson made so he could be there in spirit. Knowing how important it was to feel like Jackson was a part of their day, he was a huge success and was one of the most popular guests all night!

Lauren’s father (a talented musician), pre recorded his version of “Black Bird” of which he proudly walked his daughter down the aisle to. Lauren’s cousin, officiated the ceremony, creating a very personal and loving union that was so heartfelt and real. Jackson proudly stood next to both of them, as they tied the knot and kissed to seal the deal!

The cocktail hour consisted of a custom brew that Josh created for the wedding day, appropriately titled “Wedding Day IPA”. For the non-lager lovers, vintage coupes filled with bubbly, elderflower and fresh blackberries made for a pretty and tasty sip. As a special nod to Lauren’s mother, her favorite wine was available and titled “The Sami”. Josh also had custom etched pint glasses made as a take away for guests…they were a huge hit!

Cocktail tables were draped in blush linens styled with smilex garland and topped with petite posies in our berry hues. Guests visited the guest book area where they snapped polaroid photos to include in a book for Lauren and Josh. The set up was so much fun and enticed guests to leave their mark. It’s always a shame when the guest book gets overlooked…not the case here!

Once the dinner tables were set, the lights were dimmed, and the candles were flickering…guests were ready to come feast! A combination of rustic wood family style tables and linen draped rounds, filled the once before ceremony area…transforming the space into an intimate dinner setting. The sweetheart table was set with a chic rose gold sparkle linen and highlighted with vibrant berry hued blooms with lush greenery. Framed with the draped fabric swag and foliage, their table was simply glistening.

The guests tables were dressed with blush linens and runners, which helped lighten up the palate a tad, allowing our magnetic color palate to shine! Napkins, romantically tied with raw silk ribbon & custom name cards, were accented with pepper leaves tying each setting into the overall tablescape. Forged greens, interlaced with markets best blooms, provided a stunning yet non invasive garland down the center of the tables. One of my favorite details was the oversized hanging menu, adorned with greenery and surrounded by candlelight, which outlined the delicious fare for the evening.

Assorted sweets were displayed alongside the petite (fun-fetti + red velvet) wedding cake. At a very private together, Lauren and Josh cut the cake, smooched each other, snuck a bite…and went back to dance the night away with their closest and mostest! It was an evening filled with love and laughter from start to finish.

From The Bride…When we started planning, we didn’t know in what city we would be living by the time of the wedding. I was born and raised in Los Angeles and it will always be “home” to me. We thought it would be the perfect place to have a fall wedding that our guests would enjoy. There were certainly times that it was nerve wracking planning from afar, but Liberty and her team made everything a breeze! Basically, we wanted to have a fun party that didn’t feel too “wedding-y.” Most Importantly, we wanted our guests to be comfortable and to have a good time.

Unfortunately, we couldn’t take our 80 lb lab/boxer mix, Jackson, with us to California. Jackson is our baby and I couldn’t imagine not having him be incorporated in our wedding in some way. I had the idea of surprising Josh with a life-sized cardboard cutout of Jackson to stand with his groomsmen. It turned out amazing – guests loved taking pictures with him and it felt like he was still with us…without the incessant drooling and jumping on people.

One of they ways we wanted to show our personal style was with our specialty “cocktails. Josh has been brewing his own beer for several years so it was a no-brainer that he would create a special brew for our wedding, Wedding Day IPA. After crafting the recipe in Chicago, my cousin executed the final brew in California. We also wanted to include a fun cocktail that was simple and elegant. I love prosecco and Liberty designed the perfect combination by adding a splash of elderflower liqueur and a fresh blackberry . Not only did it taste delicious but it looked gorgeous! Finally, it was important to us to make an homage to my mom who passed away several years ago. She was known to love a glass of Kendall Jackson Chardonnay, so this was the clear choice for our final “cocktail”.

Don’t RSVP ‘Yes’ If Your Date Plans on Wearing Any of These 10 Items

While some outfits are good for engagement session, not every option makes the cut for formal wear. Case in point? You and your beau are attending your first wedding of the season, but when you peer in his closet you’re encountered with a limited options. Which is where we come in, here’s a list of what your beloved should absolutely NOT wear to any wedding, no matter what the dress code may be.

[dotted]

What not to wear to a wedding

ONE | Baseball cap, or any hat that isn’t formal

TWO | Sneakers, you’re not running a marathon, you’re just dancing

THREE | Scuffed shoesbecause honestly this is just sloppy

FOUR | Man flops, because the happy couple doesn’t need to see an un-manicured man foot

FIVE | Distressed denim, this is more VMA than big day

SIX | Short sleeve dress shirts, opt for a button-up and roll the sleeves if you’re toasty

SEVEN | Crazy prints, because nothing is dizzier in a picture than a loud Hawaiian shirt

EIGHT | Jorts (Jean shorts), it’s a wedding not a fraternity party

NINE | Cargo pants, it’s not survival school so there really is no need to store snacks in your pockets for later

TEN | T-shirts of the cotton variety (an even bigger taboo if they include graphics), it’s a formal event so be sure leave the casual shirts in the closet

Now that we’ve outlined a few of the ‘unacceptable’ items, it’s only fair that we show you some prime examples of what to wear. Scroll below and see how a few handsome guests show off their personal style all while adhering to a variety of dress codes!

This Elegant Nashville Wedding’s Reception Takes Fun to New Levels

If you really want to get your guests on the dance floor at your wedding reception, take a cue from this fabulous couple who projected their favorite Nintendo Wii game, Just Dance, on the walls of their reception. Relive all the fun — and see a whole lot of pretty — thanks to Brandon Chesbro and FreshSox in The Vault!

From The Bride…When we were freshmen in college, Aaron and I happened to sit next to each other at a McGill University football game. We hit it off immediately and Aaron asked me to find him in the 5th row of the lecture hall in our Chemistry class the following week. A few months later we went on our first date to a bring-your-own wine restaurant, which kicked off the next 10-years of fun and adventures through life together. Last year Aaron planned an elaborate scavenger hunt (on our 99th “month-iversary”) involving clues and destinations related to all the things most important to us. The scavenger hunt ended in the Duke Gardens, where he proposed in a gazebo our friends had decorated with string lights and flowers.

We first met Brandon at the engagement shoot – he took us to a friend’s farm outside of Nashville a few hours before sunset on a hot July day. We got to know him and explore the farm and surrounding forest and creek and roam among cows, wild turkeys, and even an alligator snapping turtle! Aaron and I initially felt very awkward in front of the camera, giggling nervously the whole time. But Brandon was able to put us at ease and captured the moments when we looked and felt the most natural and happy.

We decided to have the wedding in Nashville, where I grew up, even though we live in North Carolina now. This meant we had to do a lot of planning remotely, and we couldn’t have done it without the support of my Mom and bridesmaids who live in Nashville, as well as the wonderful Sarah Ann Miller from Randi Events. She listened to all of our ideas and brought to life an absolutely beautiful event at aVenue with everything we wanted – not only unique and magical displays of flowers, candles, and greenery draped across wooden planks suspended from the rafters, but a frozen yogurt dessert bar from sweet CeCe’s, and a projector setup to project our favorite Wii game, Just Dance, onto the wall so all our guests could dance along. We had the time of our lives and are so thankful to everyone who made it all possible!

A Secret Garden Wedding Complete With Dreamy Dress + DIY Details

Tucked away in a secret garden, a beautiful Bride says “I do” to her college sweetheart, surrounded by DIY details she created herself, from the watercolor invitations to the programs, signs and more… no, this isn’t a fairytale, it’s real life and Sawyer Baird’s pretty pics prove it all. Simply Charming Socials planned and coordinated all the beauty and our Vault as the happily ever after – see it all here!

From the Bride… Austin and I met during our sophomore year of college, when some mutual friends brought us together and things went swiftly from first introductions to becoming an inseparable crew of about 10 people that would spend nearly every weekend together from then on out. A year after we met we were dating, and five years after that Austin was down on one knee on a gorgeous spring day in Whistler, B.C., asking me to spend forever with him. Our relationship has been defined from the start by our mutual love for spontaneity, fun, and adventure – and that’s exactly how we wanted our wedding day to feel too.

The vision I had for our big day was a combination of discovered, natural beauty, and soft, romantic details. I’ve always loved the idea of an outdoor wedding and was totally willing to travel (something we love to do anyway) to find the perfect venue. I wanted someplace naturally beautiful without a lot of man-made elements or forced decoration. The second I stepped through the gates of Dunaway Gardens, I knew we had found it. The old stone amphitheater and secret-garden-esque feel of the place had me swooning! It felt like discovering some old and long-forgotten grounds of an European estate, only they were actually tucked away in a sleepy Georgia town. It was perfect.

I’m a graphic designer by trade, so I always knew I’d have a hand in creating the smaller details of the day. I especially wanted to tackle the wedding paper myself, and while it was a huge –and at times daunting– task, I’m so glad I took it on. I’m not a “traditional” (read: paintbrush and pen) kind of artist, but I wanted to push myself out of my comfort zone and create something unique and meaningful for our invitation suite. So I experimented with a vision I had in mind and sought out guidance from some talented friends before ultimately going with a hand-torn and individually painted set in a vibrant green watercolor. I think Austin probably thought I was crazy for staying up into the small hours of the morning for weeks and converting our whole living room into a giant drying rack, but when all was said and done, they came out just as I’d envisioned. I loved going through and pairing each suite, sealing and embossing inner envelopes, addressing with traditional ink and pen and even tracking down an assortment of vintage stamps from a local collector I’d found. It was a huge labor of love, but I had so much fun doing it.

The little details have always been what I enjoy the most, so I made sure we left a personal touch on every aspect of the day, from the program fans that highlighted must-see areas of the gardens (thanks to the illustrative talents of a dear friend), to a number of signs that lead our guests through the day with subtle jokes sprinkled throughout as payoff to those who actually read them. My amazing mother helped package our succulent favors in little clear takeout boxes with black pebbles and finished with the same wax seal we’d used in the invitation suite. We made custom painted hangers for each of my bridesmaids and gave each of them vintage handkerchiefs with their initials on them (to use in case of happy tears!). My parents also gifted me with an old handkerchief of my grandmother’s (she’s 92, still quick-witted as ever, and absolutely my spirit animal). They had it embroidered with a sweet message that almost immediately made me want to smear teary-eyed mascara all over it.

Over all, the day was everything I could’ve wished for. We were surrounded by our closest family and friends in a beautiful place to celebrate our love for each other and the start of our next great adventure together in life – and that’s just about all you can ask for!

From Sophie EptonWords cannot even begin to describe the magic of this incredible wedding day! Jennifer and Jesse’s fairy tale wedding took place on top of one of the most beautiful cities in the world, Florence, Italy and the day was full of so much love and light (and all the champagne!) This celebration was such a joy to photograph, and a true feast for the eyes. The ceremony and reception both took place on the hotel landing that literally overlooked the entire city and created a breathtakingly beautiful focal point for the entire day.

Gorgeous colorful blooms and lanterns punctuated every landscape, and sweet details such as mini olive oil bottle favors and the most amazing Firenze inspired invite made a big impact on guests. After the sun started to set, the party was set ablaze with a sparkling champagne tower while everyone danced against the Italian starry night.

The next day, Jennifer and Jesse got dressed up once more for a “day after” session as we chased light all over Firenze..from the Boboli Gardens and Pitti Palace to the quiet streets of the Oltrarno side of the city. Jennifer was the most radiant bride, and we laughed all day amongst the hustle and bustle of historic Florence. This truly was one for the books, and I hope it inspires many other couples to chase your wanderlust dreams and always get married where your heart desires!

This Bride’s DIY Gown is GENIUS

I’ve seen a lot of crafty brides in my day, but a beautiful bride who transformed her off the rack gown with a fabulous tulle skirt? That’s an awesome first.  Together with her handsome hubs, she celebrated their “I do’s” with the sweetest farm affair filled to the brim with rustic, DIY details.  See every moment captured amazingly by Cappy Hotchkiss Photography in THE VAULT right here.

From Cappy Hotchkiss Photography… Caitlinn is a wedding photographer in New York, a fabulous wedding photographer, and she met Brian, a handsome South African at a wedding that she was photographing in the Hudson Valley.

This was truly a DIY wedding. The bride did everything including creating her wedding dress from an off the rack strapless dress and then, with help from her grandmother, added a tulle over skirt.

She borrowed a 70-year-old jade and pearl necklace from her grandmother which she wore as a head band.

Her flowers were ordered from South Africa and mixed with local flowers and put together by a friend.

She and her friends made the flower crowns worn by the flower girls, made the flower petal cones, and her Mom and grandma made the adorable cakes which her friend decorated with wildflowers collected around the farm property.

The Guest book was a Leather handcrafted book with Map of South Africa created by “Maps on Leather” (based in Spain.)

The bouquet design was by Erin Peterson Layumas. (Erin used to be a florist, she has Liver cancer and had to stop, she created my bouquets as a favor to me. Caitlinn shot her wedding for free in 2014 due to her illness and they have become very close friends ever since.)
