Crazy Romantic Valentine’s Day Hair Tutorials

Today may be Friday (reason enough to celebrate) but with Valentine’s Day just around the corner, we’re feeling extra special. But why limit the excitement – and the hearts, sweet treats and romance to just one day? Why not celebrate all weekend long? That’s just what we plan on doing – specifically, with these festive hair tutorials thanks to Face Time Beauty Concierge, captured by You Look Lovely Photography!

Half Back Heart Hairstyle

Begin with hair brushed out. Take two sections from either side of head and bring back into a pony. Secure with elastic.

Grab a small section of hair from left side (above ear) and pull towards elastic. Take the end of the section and fold into the center of secured hair and pull thru. Let end hang.

Repeat Step #2 on the right side of the head. This time, use a bobby pin to pin hair over elastic neatly. Place the bobby pin underside of hair so it is hidden.

Pump some hairspray into these hanging strands near the “heart” for texture and use a second elastic to secure new ponytail (the other elastic is hidden above).

Embellish and adorn with flowers or a pretty flower crown!

[dotted]

Tousled French Twist

Start with beachy, textured waves for this look.

Take a section of hair aligning from the middle of the ear down to neck and firmly grasp. Twist the section from roots twice around and secure with bobby pins on underside of twists so the pins are hidden.

Take a larger section on the left hand side starting from above ear and twist three times and secure with elastic where both sections meet. Secure twists with bobby pins on this side as well.

Pump texturizing spray into air and use fingers to rub ends so the hair gains body and appears full.

Secure a flower comb into the twist or adorn with a pretty flower crown!

Why Central Park is the Sweetest Place for a Vow Renewal

These two are major marriage goals. They were graced with THE most pristine day for their vow renewal in Central Park—can you even handle the dreamy sun-soaked images? This one has me all heart eyes. Sheradee Hurst Photography nailed every single image and The Vault is shinier today because of it.

MustWatch_swash-01

[iframe https://player.vimeo.com/video/191067780 600 338]

From Sheradee Hurst PhotographyMichael and Amy enlisted Talia Morgan from Inspire Events to design and plan their vow renewal in the heart of NYC’s iconic Central Park. Amy wanted to have the experience of selecting her bouquet from the Floral District on the streets of NYC. So the day before the ceremony, Amy and her group of creatives that traveled with her walked the floral district selecting the freshest flowers NYC had to offer in shades of warm fall colors with subtle hints of citrus inspired shades. All floral was chosen the day prior to the ceremony from the Floral District. The bride hosted a “rehearsal dinner” at Tavern on the Green for family, friends, and creatives. The couple’s first look was a romantic vision in the middle of Central Park when a violinist started impromptu playing the wedding march right after their first look. The ceremony was a perfect reflection of their love for each other and how it’s grown over the years. Michael and Amy’s two sons were there to watch their parents big day. As a surprise to Amy, her original Maid of Honor from nineteen years ago even showed in Central Park wearing her original bridesmaid dress from Amy’s wedding. She had walked through the park and sat during the ceremony right by her side in the dress Amy selected at her first wedding. The couple’s first dance was overlooking the water and a small picnic Guests then enjoyed a lovely reception dinner at Lexington Brass.

From the Bride… It has been said that love finds you when you least expect it. I can’t think of a truer statement. Mike and I dated for 2 weeks before he said ” I’m going to marry you.” You just know when you know. Our love story started fast, but has stood the test of time. Being married for 19 years to your best friend makes life so much sweeter. Working in the wedding industry I meet young couples everyday. My advice to them would be, always choose to love each other. Life can be rough and always choosing love makes things easier. Be each others cheerleader and biggest encourager. I feel I am who I am today because of the strong man that stands by my side saying “You got this!” Keep dating each other and ALWAYS make time to spend together. I could go on forever but most important advice would be to forgive and be patient. I have learned all these things along our journey, so when we decided to renew our vows it was very emotional and meant so much more the second time. Standing up after doing life together as people who have grown together takes on a whole new wonderful feeling. I’m grateful for the love we have found together and our two beautiful boys. Having our sons witness our renewal was my favorite part of the day. I hope they will one day find their special someone and ALWAYS choose love.

The Prettiest Way to Celebrate Five Years of Marriage

A husband and wife celebrating five years of marriage is a beautiful thing; especially when that occasion is marked with a stunning photo session by Katie Grant Photography. It’s all sunshine and mountaintops, beautiful blooms by Zinnia Floral Design and love, lots of love. Take a peek at the full anniversary session right here in the vault.

From the Wife… My husband and I have been married for 5 years and together for 10. We are more in love than ever before. Unfortunately we weren’t overly thrilled with our wedding photos so we always spoke of doing an anniversary shoot at some point. This year seemed like the perfect time. After two children, our love has grown and evolved in such a wonderful way. We are more in sync than ever, there is a wisdom in our love. There is nothing surer than how we feel about each other. He is the love of my life, and I am his. We shot high on a hill in Brigadoon, Perth. The amazing Katie Grant was our photographer, and now our friend. It was picturesque and romantic. We looked at each other like we did when we first met. It was truly magical and an experience I’ll treasure always.

Modern Indian Wedding Inspired by a European Garden

We might only be in February, but I’m predicting Zarine and Vineet’s wedding as one of Style Me Pretty’s best of the year. It’s a day that combines two distinct Indian cultures paired with the bride’s personal taste for European charm…and does it all with elegance and grace. Zarine donned three custom-designed gowns paired with heirloom jewelry and Twah Dougherty captured each moment behind her lens. This day is the definition of cultural beauty and we can’t get enough.

Colors
Settings
Event Venue

From Erin Braun, event stylist… Zarine and Vineet come from two very distinct Indian cultures and religions, Zoroastrian and Hindu respectively. We worked to combine three very different aesthetics into one unique vision to perfectly reflect their authentic styles – the all white traditions of Zoroastrian weddings, colorful and vibrant Hindu celebrations, and a soft European garden style to reflect the Bride’s personal aesthetic and the couple’s Parisian engagement. Belle Mer provided a breathtaking white seaside setting for this seamlessly executed multicultural event that was so stunningly captured by Twah Dougherty.

Intricate chalk patterns is one of Zarine’s favorite traditions in Zoroastrian celebrations, so we carried this design element throughout the wedding events. From detailed illustrations on the hand painted invitations, to chalk drawings leading into the entrance of the ceremony and hand painted tiles to display the guests’ escort cards. We created a color palette of white, cream, and blush with touches of gold and vivid berry tones to meld the unique cultural aesthetics.

Throughout the wedding festivities, the bride wore three different outfits, which were all custom designed and hand-crafted for her in India. She also adorned heirloom jewelry that had been passed down through both families. Gold elephants, signage written in three different family languages, a white horse for the groom’s procession, and banana leaves wrapped around each place setting are just a few of the many personal and thoughtful details that were infused throughout the day of events. Everything was so wonderfully executed by the most talented team of vendors and the unique blending of cultures and families left such a lasting impression on all of the guests!

Elegance Meets Al Fresco Fun for this Tuscan Wedding

You gotta give credit where credit is due and this gorgeous Bride knew what she was doing (she is a wedding photographer herself after all) when putting together her destination wedding. With the help of Weddings in Tuscany by Chiara Sernesi (found via SMP’s Little Black Book no less!), they created a romantic, ethereal and FUN fete that we can’t get enough of. Kylee Yee, with assistance by Tanja Kibogo, captured it all and Philip White filmed the action live – see more below and in our Vault right here!

Villa

From the Bride… As a wedding photographer (www.juliemichaelsen.com) myself, I have attended over 100 weddings so when it came to our own wedding, my partner and I knew we wanted to go abroad and say our “I do’s” under the sleepy autumn sun and romantic olive groves of Tuscany.

We found our venue Ville Le Fontanelle after a rushed weekend of venue visits in October last year. We had originally wanted to be deep in the Tuscan hills but when we saw Villa Le Fontanelle we both had a very strong positive reaction to it! Conveniently 10 mins outside of Florence with the most picturesque 180 degree views of the city, including the majestic Duomo, it was so perfect. The owner Ilaria was welcoming and very accommodating.

Our vision for the day was an elegant but relaxed, fun day in the sun full of meaning and heart. We decided to have a humanist blessing (as neither of us are religious) and it meant we’d get to write the ceremony ourselves. My cousin Miriam was our Celebrant and she did such a magnificent job!

My late grandmother (who was an huge influence in my life) and my grandfather were a significant presence within the day. When my grandmother passed away she left their weddings bands to me to share with Ross, a huge honour and one we were so grateful for.

My talented sister-in-law Sadaf Mirzaei had helped us to create our ‘on the day stationery’ by taking my grandmothers watercolour paintings and designing menu cards, table plans and the place settings with my grandmother’s imagery.

Each guest found an envelope on their place setting with their names in gold calligraphy on it. Inside was a handwritten card from us telling them how grateful we were for their presence at our wedding but also in our lives. I feared that we wouldn’t get time to speak to every single person so as a precaution I wanted each people to know that they were loved and warmly welcomed at our wedding day. It took a long time to write these but I loved the idea of taking the opportunity to tell the people we love that we love them and what they mean to us.

The speeches were probably the highlight of the day, all of them were so funny, heartfelt and we were completely blown away when our family performed a surprise flashmob of Les Miserables! One more day! Even my dad stood up to do a solo! I went through a range of emotions including shock, pure joy, tears, and a very strong feeling to grab a microphone and join them! My Danish family had also written a song for us which they got everyone to sing, so much fun and probably a bit of a shock to the non-Danes as this is a tradition within our family!

Afterwards Ross also made the most wonderful surprise video for me which he showed after the speeches, not a dry eye in the house, it really was the most amazing day!

We found our planner through Style Me Pretty’s Little Black Book, Chiara from Weddings in Tuscany, and what a hero she was. She made the whole experience very seamless, replying to flurries of WhatsApp messages and being a cool, calm and reliable presence throughout, she was a God send.

My partner Ross is a documentary maker so we both had very strong feelings about the videographer and photographer… after a bad experience with the first photographer we chose, we were lucky enough to find Kylee Yee who I knew through both being London based hybrid fine art wedding photographers. It was really important to me that our styles were aligned and that she ‘saw’ things how I saw them. I’m a stickler for detail, love symmetry and hate distracting elements in my photos, so I wanted to know that Kylee had this same eye… she made the whole experience very easy and enjoyable for us, being friendly, warm and relaxed whilst also being professional and inspiring trust within us. I so wanted to be on the receiving end of the experience I like to give my clients and thankfully Kylee very much gave us that as well as the most beautiful imagery which we cherish and cant wait to enjoy in years to come.

Our videographer was Philip White. Ross being a documentary maker obviously had high expectations for this portion of the day and Philip definitely exceeded him, he is a talented film maker and also a lovely presence who felt like a friend.

Ranch Wedding with To-Die-For Views + 3 Must-Know Tips from the Bride!

One look at this wedding and you’re going to need to know the Bride’s three tips (included in her little writeup below)—how could you not with all this pretty? With a ranch-elegant vision in mind and stuuuning views to boot, she and her groom nailed it and we have Orange Photographie to thank for documenting it all so beautifully. The Vault holds all the lovely, right this way.

From the Bride… I knew I wanted to get married on a ranch, but I didn’t want to have it feel too rustic. I focused on incorporating soft and romantic decor to create an elegant setting with a beautiful mountainous backdrop while highlighting some Montana details such as the horse-drawn wagons and a bluegrass band. It’s so rare that your closest friends and family will all be together with you, so plan and organize to the best of your ability and then just be present and enjoy the day.

There were so many incredible moments from our wedding day, but my favorite was the time we had during our sunset pictures. It was so special to step away and have a moment together to soak in the significance of the day, and getting some amazing photos didn’t hurt either! My three suggestions for a bride’s (and groom’s) sanity:

1) Make a decision and move on
2) Pick vendors that you enjoy working with and will make your vision a reality
3) Don’t sweat the details you can’t control (like weather in the mountains!)

In Terms of Gorgeous, This Napa Valley Wedding Takes the Cake

The lighting will make your jaw drop, the photography will stop you dead in your tracks and the whole day will definitely be added to your Most Favorite Ever list. It’s modern, classic and elegant all wrapped into one and crafted by some of the wedding industry’s greats. With design by Laurie Arons, florals by Kathleen Deery Design, stationery by A Day in May Design and photos by Jose Villa, this ranch wedding literally and figuratively takes the cake.

Modern

From the Planner… “Life is Short, Eat Cake First.” The motto of our darling bride Sophie not only inspired a fun little treat for our guests, but pretty much summed up how enjoyable it was to work with this couple on planning their wedding. They embraced the beauty in life, didn’t sweat the small stuff, and all in all, had fun creating a special day for their families and guests. The wedding in Napa Valley had a fresh, crisp canvas on which to create the design. For the ceremony, we constructed a custom wood walkway and magnificent chuppah, which Kathleen Deery Design adored with spring blooms and branches. Sophie loves soft pink and white flowers, so there was no shortage of peonies in the bouquets and centerpieces. Little petits fours greeted guests at their place setting, with Sophie’s motto encouraging them to dive into dessert first. The big moment of awe came from the ceiling installation of hanging cherry blossom branches and glass bulbs in the center of the white barn. Over the outer tables, we hung a simpler version of the chandelier with bulbs only. I loved the combination of the two, for a mix of both romantic and modern. After dinner, guests danced in a clear top tent covering the ranch’s pool. The Hora at this wedding was so energetic and celebratory, I worried we might end up in the pool before it was all done. But guests danced into the night, before heading home with individual Bourbon Pecan Pies from Paula LeDuc Fine Catering, a nod to Eric’s Georgia roots.

The Ultimate Act of Romance for all Football Lovin’ Fiances Out There

The Super Bowl may have passed a few day ago but we’re still riding high on football season around these parts. So when this film came across our desks, well, let’s just say it was perfect timing. This bride-to-be decided to surprise her football lovin’ fiance and the results? Ah-mazing. Before we move on to other seasonal sports, let’s give football one more hug with this fabulous film by Pacific Pictures!

[iframe http://player.vimeo.com/video/126920135 600 338]

From Pacific PicturesMarried sports fans know that marriage and sports have a lot in common. Success in both requires hard work, dedication, and sacrifice. For engaged football fans Komal and Shalin, the first step in joining their families would come when Komal would reconsider her lifelong dedication to the New York Jet’s in favor of reluctant allegiance to Shalin’s Baltimore Ravens. A big step for Komal, as in the words of Komal’s brother, “Everyone knows the Desai family is a Jet’s family!”

At their engagement extravaganza in Baltimore, Komal wanted to take it a step further; to show her undying love and support for Shalin in the biggest way possible. Always the one to pleasantly surprise his fiancé, Shalin would now become the unwitting subject of the surprise of a lifetime for any Ravens fan. Totally unbeknownst to Shalin, Komal had arranged to walk Shalin blindfolded onto the 50 yard line of M&T Bank Stadium, the home of the Baltimore Ravens. The big reveal would also include a full blown announcement of the starting lineup of the Parikh and Desai families in true primetime NFL fashion.

We were especially excited to take part in planning the big surprise, from convincing Shalin we just wanted to do a “casual video shoot” around town, to writing the script for the M&T Bank Stadium announcer!

10 Tips for a Glamorous Winter Wedding

Winter is one of those seasons that is cozy and beautiful without even really trying, which is why hosting your “I do’s” smack-dab in the midst of a snow-filled wonderland is such a great idea. But how to make it extra amazing? Well, today we’re teaming up with our friends at Hyatt Regency Lake Tahoe Resort, Spa and Casino for some tips + tricks on doing just that. From yummy s’mores to rich hues, we’re counting down the guest-impressing list right here, right now.

TIP ONE: TREAT YOUR GUESTS TO TASTY SURPRISES

One of the reasons we love winter weddings so very, very much is all of the creative touches you can add to your ceremony + reception. And that includes yummy treats for you and your guests. Start by welcoming your nearest + dearest to your “I do’s” with a hot-from-the-oven chocolate chip cookie and skip the pre-ceremony cocktails and offer up a hot cocoa bar instead. Hint: Rock candy sticks are the perfect stirrers. Sooo good.

TIP TWO: EMBRACE WINTER COLORS, PATTERNS AND TONES

Winter is the season for luxurious hues with deep jewel tones, silver, gold and lots and lots of sparkle leading the pack. So incorporating these beautiful tones into your Big Day? A total must. Try adding a kick of color to your attire (hello, shoes), then focus on glamming up your ceremony + reception decor. It’s going to look beyond romantic.

TIP THREE: ADD SOME S’MORES TO THE SOIREE

No winter wedding is complete without a tasty s’mores bar… that’s just a fact. So when choosing the perfect venue to host your celebration, ask about fire pits like the ones at Hyatt Regency Lake Tahoe Resort, Spa and Casino. Your guests will LOVE whipping up those tasty treats fireside under the stars, complete with cozy blankets and the s’mores kits you had waiting in their rooms. It’s the perfect welcome to the weekend.

TIP FOUR: MAKE YOUR WELCOME GIFT A HELPFUL ONE

And speaking of welcome gifts… there’s nothing nicer than a sweet little bag of goodies for your guests when they arrive for the party of the century. We suggest including lip balm, hand warmers, custom earmuffs and a small whiskey bottle to keep your nearest + dearest warm throughout the entire party.

TIP FIVE: MAKE THE WEEKEND OR DAY EASY ON YOUR GUESTS

We all know winter weather is a little unpredictable, so choosing just ONE venue for the entire weekend is, well… the easiest way ever to accommodate all of your guests. I’m talking a sweet spot like Hyatt Regency Lake Tahoe Resort, Spa and Casino, so your nearest + dearest can ditch running around town and really relax. Think a full-service salon and spa, on-site catering and restaurants, late-night activities and even in-house babysitting for the littles. We call that completely no stress.

SIX: DON’T SCRIMP ON PHOTO TIME

Your wedding day will go by in an absolute blur… trust us. So setting aside some real time to capture images of you + yours in your very own winter wonderland is key. And so is choosing a venue that will make the perfect background for all of those amazing shots. Think snow-capped mountains, sparkling icicles and oversized Evergreens. (Hint: Hyatt Regency Lake Tahoe Resort, Spa and Casino has all of that.)

SEVEN: ADD WINTER WARMING DETAILS INTO YOUR FASHION

The best part about winter weddings? The fashion. Think brides rockin’ faux-fur stoles, bridesmaids with the cutest earmuffs and groomsmen in dapper tuxes. And winter fashion isn’t just stunning to look at – it’s pretty convenient, too – with hidden pockets for storing cell phones AND lipstick. Want to really set the mood? Buy your bridesmaids each a pair of cozy boots as a special gift. They’ll love you for it.

EIGHT: SAVE SOME MONEY ON FLOWERS

We love a beautiful bouquet, and when it comes to decorating your space in style, winter greenery and bright red berries is definitely where it’s at. Avoid those out-of-season floral costs by getting creative with year-round plants, then add the aforementioned seasonal elements to really make your centerpieces POP.

NINE: UPGRADE YOUR ARRIVAL

Three words: horse drawn sleigh. It’s romantic, fun and the best way ever to arrive at your reception when the ground is covered in snow. Your guests are going to love this one.

TEN: SAVE MONEY ON THE HONEYMOON

Hyatt Regency Lake Tahoe Resort, Spa and Casino may be the world’s best place to host your winter celebration, but when it’s time to grab your love and rush off to paradise for your honeymoon, they have that covered, too. That’s because when you host your Big Day at Hyatt Regency Lake Tahoe Resort, Spa and Casino, you can earn up to five free (yes, FREE) honeymoon nights anywhere in the world. 5 Must-Have Photos of Your Dress (BEFORE You Put it On!)

You spend countless hours shopping for just the right dress, so it’s only fitting to make sure “the one” is properly documented on the big day. You’ll get countless images IN your gown but it’s worth planning for the shots before you even slip it on. Forward to your photographer and you can thank us later!

The Getting Ready Shot

Show off that bridal glow the morning of your wedding with a photo holding your dress. You’ll want that as a moment to always remember and bonus points if you’ve got a cute robe worth capturing.

The Up Close Detail Shot

You agonized over choosing just the right dress, so make darn sure your photographer captures all the little details that make your gown so special. Intricate beading, antique lace – whatever the detail it’s worth a close-up.

The Classic Hanging Shot

This photo captures your gown in all its glory. Make sure you’ve got a simple, uncluttered backdrop and a pretty hanger on hand to set the scene just right.

Paired With Accessories Shot

A wedding dress makes quite the stunning backdrop to overlay with your shoes and accessories. It’s another opportunity to see the details of the gown and showcase how the full fashion look works together.

Paired With Bridesmaid Dresses Shot

You’ll surely be getting photos with your ladies in their gowns, but don’t forget to take an image of the dresses all hung in a row. Especially for the mismatched bridal party, this is a fun way to how complimentary gowns play off one another.

Haiku Mill Elopement + A Silver Dress Designed by the Bride

If you’re considering an elopement, can I persuade you to just DO it? Or, I should say—will you let Melia Lucida persuade you with these gorg captures? My husband and I almost did, and this day of love at Haiku Mill is exactly why. A day for just the two of you that can still be filled with so much pretty. Can you believe the Bride made her own dress? Wowza. I’m amazed. There’s more in The Vault to nudge you pretties.

From Melia LucidaThis was a secret elopement for a Canadian couple who did not want the stress and attention of a wedding at home. The bride designed her crossover bollywood skirt (with pockets!) and top with a Vancouver designer and it was handmade in India. Her shoes were nude patent leather Valentino flats. The ceremony was on a rainy December morning in Haiku but the couple stood under the glass of the mill for an thoughtful ceremony by Meredith. Soon after the conclusion of the ceremony the couple’s first dance song began to play and while they danced the mocha cake was laid out beautifully with candles and a gold serving set the bride had purchased at West Elm. After a few photos around the Mill, which is a wonderful combination of lush Hawaiian garden and antique Parisian accents, the bride and groom enjoyed lunch at Mama’s Fish House in Paia while it rained heavily – by the time lunch was over the rain had cleared and they took a few more photos at Ho’okipa beach which provided a misty soft grey ocean backdrop with hardly anyone else around.

The Prettiest Color Palette We Ever Did See

I’m kinda freaking out about this color palette; the dove gray bridesmaids’ dresses, the creams, the greens and those pops of burgundy. I would never have thought of this creative combination but it works oh so, so well. And Luna de Mare Photography captured it from every angle, on every detail and every moment of this intimate al fresco wedding. See it all – and get on board with these stunning shades – in our Vault gallery right this way!

From Luna de MareSherilyn and Alex were married on the grounds of Calamigos Equestrian, near stables housing majestic and beautiful horses. One of them even making a debut, long enough to pose with them during portraits.

Sherilyn decided on neutral tones for nearly all her elements, and introduced deep hues of burgundy and lush greens which were incorporated into the florals for contrast, for her warm, inviting and intimate wedding.

Guests mingled outdoors on the veranda during cocktail hour, and made their way into the reception shortly thereafter, awaiting the introduction of the new Bride and Groom.

Each of the paired attendants danced their choreographed way into the room filled with laughter and anticipation until finally the grand entrance, where the couple were greeted by boisterous welcomes and cheer. It was so much fun witnessing and capturing their beautiful day!

Mountaintop Engagement Session With Breathtaking Views

Planning an engagement session is no small task. You may find yourself stressing over the perfect location, deciding what to wear, and of course, who to photograph all the fun. Well sit back and take notes from this couple who chose a concept a bit out of the box – a wintertime engagement session in Wichita Mountains Wildlife Refuge. Tenth & Grace came along to capture and to say we’re obsessed is a massive understatement.

From Tenth & Grace… Oklahoma is not known for its mountains, but Mount Scott in the Wichita Mountains Wildlife Refuge is a special spot that rises above much of the flat landscape in this state. It was such a picturesque spot for this winter engagement session! These two are getting married in Texas this spring but decided to venture into Oklahoma for their engagement session due to the unique scenery and stunning views. Leslie with Everly Alaine Florals created a beautiful bouquet that really complemented the cool tones of the mountains in December.

An Elegant Restaurant Wedding with a Spectacular View

From first glance at that dress straight through to the reception, this wedding is all about the romance. Crafted by NYC Flower Project along with the image after gorgeous image by Sophie Kaye Photography, it’s awash in white with candles dotting the landscape and a stunning view of the Manhattan skyline. And that, my friends, is the recipe for a truly beautiful day.

From the Photographer… Set in the gorgeous Liberty House Restaurant overlooking the Manhattan skyline, Ruth & Irvin said their vows and wed surrounded by their closest family and friends. The day was wonderful despite the winter weather – a combination of a classic New York ceremony with details brought in via the bride and groom’s culture and religion. Neither Ruth nor Irvin let the rain stop them from beautiful outdoor couple photos behind their venue, with an amazing backdrop of New York City, and were smiling the whole time. Outfitted in a stunning BHLDN gown of the palest petal pink, Ruth opted for timeless hair and makeup. They married under the glow of string lights as the sun set, and shared their first kiss (that they had saved for their wedding day!)

Their reception was one of the most beautiful i’ve ever photographed, tables dressed in soft white and green with fresh florals and hundreds of candles. I always recommend my couples include a lot of ambient light in their reception and this couple went all out – illuminating the room from both the inside and out which made for some incredible photos. Ruth changed into a gorgeous short reception dress, also from BHLDN, that she had worn a few months before for her engagement photos. Irvin’s brother serenaded the crowd for the beginning – singing for the couples first dance and parent dances. After the toasts, which left everyone laughing, a live band took over for the rest of the night. It was truly a wonderful celebration and I was thrilled to end 2016 with such an amazing wedding.
