Snow In Texas Makes For The Perfect Intimate Winter Wedding

This couple knew they wanted a winter wedding but didn’t necessarily expect a snow storm in Texas! But with the snowy weather came an ultra romantic feel, adding touches of shimmering white to the trees outside the chapel where the ceremony took place. With a neutral color palette and dramatic hints of deep red, the florals by Twigs & Twine Events felt wintery and festive for the time of year. Finch Photography captured the beautiful day and the gallery will have you dreaming of a white winter wedding – no doubt!

From the photographer… Stephanie and Carter knew that they wanted a cold-weather wedding following the conclusion of football season, but they never expected that they’d be surrounded by snow in Texas! As guests began to arrive, the winter storm arrived, too. The cold weather kept everyone inside, making the wedding festivities so much more intimate! Thankfully, the bride stayed warm in a fur wrap from Royal Scout & Co. That added an elegant touch to her modern Jesus Peiro gown. The southern oak trees that lined the entrance to the chapel were brushed with snow which beautifully complimented the traditional ceremony. After the ceremony, guests were surrounded by hundreds of romantic candles and a neutral color palette with pops of marsala throughout the winter florals. Following a delicious dinner from Knife Steakhouse and heartfelt toasts from the maid of honor and father of the bride, guests danced for hours with one of Dallas’ award-winning bands. Ben Finch and Candlelight Films did a fabulous job capturing every detail of the night but also the JOY that everyone shared!

Being from Knoxville, Carter had three requests for the wedding – a UT checkerboard end zone on his grooms’ cake, to sing “Rocky Top”, and to celebrate the special occasion with Tennessee moonshine! The ever-so-important checkerboard end zone was accompanied by building equipment surrounding the cake as a nod to Carter’s job as a construction engineer and his love for hands-on projects. Other Tennessee traditions were woven into the night’s events amongst the all of the sparkle and monograms that Stephanie knew she needed to have! Stephanie also hand-wrote the calligraphy place cards that each guest found at their table to add a personalized touch to the decor. After graduating from Auburn University and getting engaged at the iconic Samford Hall, Stephanie and Carter made it a priority to incorporate traditions from their college town. The bride and groom descended the modern staircase as they exited through a sea of orange and blue shakers as friends and family cheered ‘War Eagle’!

From the Bride…Cameron and I both wanted an intimate outdoor wedding and San Ysidro Ranch was just the perfect venue with its elegant but understated charm. It was really important for us to keep the guest list small so that we could spend time with each of our guests who were flying in from New York, Vancouver, Australia, and China. Keeping true to the beauty of the Ranch, we wanted the wedding to feel romantic, elegant, and relaxed. We choose fresh and organic colors like ivory, blush, and peach with lots of greens from the invitation to the flowers. We had the best time at our wedding; from spending the day with our closest family and friends, to the delicious cake (red velvet with strawberries and whip cream!), to dancing under the stars.

From Adrian WoodAnna contacted Katerina Vogli from Mood Effects almost two years before her wedding with Steve in order to organize their wedding. Both of them were very excited but no one could ever imagine how wonderful this wedding was going to be. Anna and Steve are from New York but they had already decided to have their wedding in Greece. To be honest this was something that everyone was expecting since both of them have Greek origins and they visit Greece almost every summer.

The location they have selected had a very special meaning for them since they have spent many beautiful summer vacations together there. Porto Cheli, a beautiful location on the mainland but it is very close and easily connected from the sea with very nice islands and the transfer can be done with small speed boats or traditional ones.

It combines the beauty of the sea and the greenery of the mainland. One could say that it is a very unique place of elegance & finesse with beautiful beaches and many things that keeps the visitors interest. One of Mood Effects main goals was to make sure all the guests enjoyed all the natural beauty and why the couple had chosen that specific location for their wedding.

The location is very special for Anna and Steve and to make it more special, Mood Effects found a wonderful villa to be their venue for the reception and the party of the wedding. This private house was in the middle of a beautiful garden and had also a private beach. The view to the sea and the whole area was unique.

All the guests arrived 3 days earlier and the couple welcomed everyone ta the rooftop of a luxury hotel from which you can enjoy the most magnificent sunset. The next morning Anna and Steve along with their guests sailed to the beautiful beaches of the area.

The big day is here! Anna and her bridesmaids are getting ready at the villa and Steve at the hotel nearby having his family and friends there. Everyone is very excited. Everything is ready. Special lighting at the garden and the pool. The top of the dance floor as decorated with thousands small lights at the top. High centerpieces of white flowers and greenery where placed on the tables. Candles were placed all around. The outside area of the villa was also ready to welcome the guests after the cocktail at the upper veranda. The stairs was decorated with thousands for candles and hidden small fireworks for the entrance of the couple. Time flies so fast. Anna is getting in the car and the bridal party follows. The small chapel looks as if it is in the middle of the sea. The decoration matches the beauty of the surroundings. Small white flowers with few green details at the kiosk and the arches.

After the cocktail, guests are going down to the pool for the dinner. The couple is going down the stairs dancing to their guests and families. Dinner is over and the cake is in the middle of the dance floor. The MC is asking everyone to join them for the cutting of the cake and the first dance. The party started with a wonderful show of fireworks and lasted until the early morning hours.

The Sweetest + Prettiest Parisian Anniversary Shoot Ever

First came love, then came marriage, then came the prettiest most romantic anniversary shoot ever in Paris. Oliver Fly captured fellow wedding photographer Catherine Guidry and her love as they toasted to one year of marital bliss with the beauty of Paris as their backdrop. See every sweet moment – and every stunning view – in our Vault right this way!

From Catherine Guidry (Bride)… After planning our dream wedding in New Orleans, we decided to postpone the honeymoon of our dreams and turn it into a 3-week adventure in Europe for our one year anniversary. The start of that trip was our visit to Paris where we had our photos taken with the talented Oliver Fly. Our clothes were shipped in advance but sadly were stuck in customs. So, we spent the night before buying new outfits in Paris. Everything thankfully worked out; I chose two outfits: a simple, low-cut v-neck, hi-low black dress and a fitted grey, backless dress! Brad went dressy casual with black boots, black slacks and a nice grey blazer.

We woke up before sunrise and met Oliver at the Trocadero viewing platform. There, we watched the most beautiful sunrise behind the Eiffel Tower. I will never forget this moment. The temperature was so cold but Oliver made the photo shoot so much fun. I almost forgot that I was freezing. We started on the platform and moved to several locations around the Eiffel Tower. We finally finished the photo shoot at my favorite location in the city in Montmartre with Le Sacré Coeur. We will forever cherish these images and the memories we made in the gorgeous city of Paris !

A Contemporary-Style Wedding on the Shores of Lake Ontario

Nothing about this wedding is cookie cutter. And I mean nothing. Rather than play into autumn cliches, Anna and David designed a contemporary affair with a sleek ballroom reception every style-loving bride should see. Tara O’Grady of Bliss Events planned, When He Found Her photographed, and the end result is a photo gallery we never want to leave.

From Tara O’Grady of Bliss Events… On a warm and sunny autumn afternoon, Anna and David celebrated their wedding on the shores of Lake Ontario atop of the famous Scarborough Bluffs at the Toronto Hunt Club. Anna wore a stunning Monique Lhuillier gown with Manolo Blahnik shoes and vintage art deco jewels. As a special touch to complete her look, Anna wore earrings from her mother which were passed on from her great grandmother.

Anna’s mother, a successful visual artist, conceptualized and hand drew the design featured on the invitations and wedding stationary. The design, which introduced the vibrant color and whimsical theme of cumquats, was carried throughout the wedding as a gentle nod to Canadian Thanksgiving and the colors of autumn. The delicate hand painted design was provided to local stationers, Paper & Poste who worked with the family to create the perfect invitation suite and day of stationary.

The ceremony was officiated by the Reverend of the bride’s family church and was delivered in a personal and friendly manner as he had known the bride since she was a little girl.

Immediately following the ceremony, guests were welcomed to the cobblestone terrace for cocktails and canapés featuring a raw bar and live jazz band to entertain the crowd. Guests were also greeted with a larger than life seating “script” that was hung in the trees. As with every detail of this wedding, the couple were eager to introduce an artistic alternative to the often seen placard or seating chart.

Guests were then introduced into the dining room where the character and style of the couple came to life. Contemporary, charcoal gray taffeta linens were softened by the rich greenery of the season and dotted with vibrant orange kumquats and distressed Chiavari chairs. Coordinating gray candlesticks and antique gold votives glowed offering a sleek and sophisticated look. The double sided head table placed in the middle of the room draped wth a fresh green garland and two dozen towering candlesticks served as the focal point of the room while surrounded by guest rounds. Seasonal flowers overflowing from antique urns flanked by slender candlesticks offered abundance and elegance to the surrounding guest tables. Guided by the seating scroll, guests were welcomed to their seats by personalized menus featuring the couple’s custom artwork.

Following dinner, the party was launched by the sought after, Dwayne Gretzky band. The 8-piece band kicked off the party with the couple’s first dance, a fast-paced, energizing rendition of “Home” by Edward Sharpe & The Magnetic Zeros. Following the first dance, drinks flowed and revelers danced into the wee hours.

Anna and David’s wedding was a true testament to the art of the celebration!

We Should All Follow this Bride’s Simple Wedding Planning Advice

Ok, ok… maybe it’s more simply said than done—but if we all followed this Bride’s wedding planning advice of “do not stress” the whole process is a lot more enjoyable, I promise. It’s about making ‘fun’ a priority in planning your big day. And when you do just that? The result is a beauty and love-filled day like this one captured by Amalie Orrange.

From Amalie OrrangeShane and Katie met through Shane’s sister. She and Katie were best friends in college and she decided to introduce Katie to her brother, the rest as they say is history! The proposal.. Shane made a video of all their pictures and videos from the 3 years that they were dating. He got a bucket of popcorn and hid the ring box at the bottom of the popcorn box. He told Katie they were watching The Martian movie and when it started it was actually a video of them. At the end he reached into the pop corn, pulled out the ring, got on one knee and asked Katie to marry him! Katie’s and Shane’s inspiration and style of their wedding day was to feel natural and beautiful, they used a lot of greenery, wood tones and neutral colors. Katie said once they booked Up the Creek the vision of their wedding was very easy to bring to life. The venue was perfect for their ideal style wedding. I asked Katie what was her favorite part of their wedding day and she said the first touch was my absolute favorite. Shane and I were both filled with nerves and butterflies but once we got to hold hands, talk to each other, and pray together, we both felt ready to go! A tip Katie would share with a future brides would be… Do not stress. I told myself that I would not be a bride that let the planning turn into stress and instead enjoy every moment of the planning process. And that’s exactly what I did. I enjoyed every moment from the planning to the wedding day. The small stuff wont matter in the end. And of course, work as a team with your fiance. Team work makes the dream work.

Vintage Meets Modern in this ’20s Inspired Wedding

Designed around the idea of “vintage nostalgia with a modern spin”, Emily and Patrick’s wedding day deserves a style category all its own. Think Southern elegance with a touch of roaring ’20s glam, and bold black and white stripes for a modern punch. Graham Terhune worked his magic behind the camera and we have the entire affair right at your fingertips.

From the Bride & Groom… Emily and Patrick met on Labor Day weekend of 2014; ten days after Patrick had moved to Raleigh for a job in the tech industry. A mutual friend was in town, and so over cheerwine and brownies in Emily’s sister’s kitchen, sparks began to fly. Emily, an illustrator and owner of Emily Brooks Designs, accepted Patrick’s request for a tour of Raleigh after he had seen a recent map she had drawn for a local magazine. Two days later, they went on their first date at Poole’s Diner, which they would recreate a year and a half later for their engagement photos. Patrick popped the question the day before Thanksgiving before they were to drive up to Virginia to celebrate the holiday with his family.

When planning for the wedding, they knew they wanted to incorporate their loves for their home states in the details. The Save the Date was the first nod to this – a watercolor of Virginia and North Carolina, with the star over both the groom’s hometown of Salem and the bride’s hometown of Raleigh. The color palette for the wedding was pulled from a textile project Emily had created while in New York based on a Vermeer painting. The rich hunter green was paired with a light blush pink, along with the accents of black, white, and gold. Both the ceremony, held at Holy Trinity Anglican Church, and the reception, held at the North Carolina Museum of Art were blank canvases, as both are mostly a brilliant white; both inside and out. Patrick and Emily loved both traditional and modern spaces, so these two venues were a perfect melding of worlds. Their love for vintage nostalgia with a modern spin was expressed through the bride’s Jenny Packham dress, which fit Emily’s desire to have a 1920’s era feeling gown.

She had always loved her great grandmother’s look on her wedding day; especially her grand bouquet with tiny flowers tied into rich cream colored streamers flowing to the ground. Her florist was able to recreate a vintage airy garden bouquet with roses, hypericum berries, lisianthus, tuberoses, chocolate Queen Ann’s lace, and trailing vines of jasmine and passion flower. Patrick wore a peak lapel tuxedo and Res Ipsa black suede formal loafers. The nod to a vintage feel also extended into the traditional silhouette portraits of the two of them; the original print was matted and signed by guests, and was also seen on some of their wedding weekend paper goods.

Emily’s calligraphy was seen throughout the details; from the invitation suite to the ceremony programs, to the reception signage. She also created a map of Raleigh that was put in boxes for guests, that were filled with sweet and savory snacks from North Carolina and Virginia. The map was also put into use through the mobile app that Patrick created for guests, with a wedding weekend schedule and places to check out in Raleigh. To bring in more of a cabana feel to the reception, monstera leaves, palms, black and white striped runners, and white paper lanterns were used throughout the indoor and outdoor spaces.

A Whimsical Farm Wedding for Meant-to-Be Lovebirds

From Amy RizzutoSome love stories take a little longer to grow than others, but when they do blossom, incredible things happen. James always knew there was something special about Lauren. In high school, he asked her out multiple times, always receiving the same answer…no. Thank you. They ran into each other after graduation and he thought he would try again. Still the same response. A few years passed and James had almost given up hope when he saw Lauren out at a party. To his great surprise, Lauren came right up to him and kissed him! They began dating shortly afterwards, and the rest is history! Lauren and James tied the knot in a gorgeous ceremony at the Barn at Perona Farms. Afterwards, they danced the night away with family and friends close by their sides. It truly was a beautiful celebration for two beautiful souls.

Rustic Montana Wedding Infused With “California Cool”

Lindee and Todd’s wedding day wasn’t just about celebrating their love, but about bringing two families together in a meaningful way. Goldfinch Events & Design helped blend their California style with the rustic Montana setting, and even the couple’s children got in on the fun. “We made sure that each of our kids’ personalities were especially incorporated somewhere within the wedding,” added Lindee. Watch how the day unfolded in the gallery captured by Jeremiah and Rachel Photography.

From Jeremiah and Rachel Photography… Lindee and Todd are some of the kindest people we’ve ever met, and spending just one minute with them you’d understand why these two are so perfect together. Lindee and Todd live in California, but chose the beautiful state of Montana for the joining of their families to honor Lindee’s family and upbringing. Cara from Goldfinch Events did an amazing job at blending their cool California vibe with the rustic side of Montana. One of our favorite parts of this wedding was the obvious love they have for their children. Everyone was so involved and caring, and it’s not often that I cry at weddings, but I definitely cried at this wedding. Todd’s three stunning daughters and Lindee’s handsome son all seem as if they have been siblings all their lives and it was so touching to see how happy everyone was that this day had finally arrived!

From the Bride… Our inspiration came from the blending of our families. Every decision, every detail was all about everyone being comfortable and having a good time. We made sure that each of our kids personalities were especially incorporated somewhere within the wedding. From my teenage boy wanting to wear his first bowtie, Todd’s oldest daughter using her wedding coordinator work experience for our ceremony, Todd’s middle daughter loving 50’s music, to Todd’s youngest begging to wear Converse at the reception…we made it all happen! It makes our photo album that much more special when we see those little details, and the huge smiles that accompany the details!

It was also very important to Todd and I to incorporate my rustic Montana farm girl upbringing with his casual California surfer style. Thank goodness for Cara Finch at GoldFinch Events for helping us to bring our ideas and visions to life! It was such a joy to share all of this with friends and family who came from near and far to be with us on this very special day.

Our wedding day was most certainly a celebration of us…”us” as in Todd and I, but it was also so much more… It’s now “us” as a family of 6, and for that we are forever blessed. A special thanks to Jeremiah and Rachel for capturing our big day and big love on 8/8/16 with your beautiful photography!

An Engagement With Sophisticated New Yorker Style

Any engagement that ends with drinks on a city rooftop is my kind of photo session. Especially when it’s set in one of the coolest spots in New York City. Nancy Ray photographed these two loves in their DUMBO, Brooklyn neighborhood and you can see their entire session this way in the gallery.

From the Bride-to-be… We moved to the beautiful Brooklyn neighborhood of DUMBO (Down Under the Manhattan Bridge Overpass) shortly before getting engaged last year, and we love everything about it-from the waterfront and the downtown Manhattan views to the brick streets. When it came time to pick a spot for our engagement pictures, we knew we wanted to have our pictures taken in a place special to us a couple. We chose our neighborhood because it’s the place where we started the New York chapter of our lives together!

Our wonderful photographer Nancy Ray was able to fly up to New York from North Carolina for the weekend, and we set a date for late October, hoping that the fall leaves would be in full swing. Unfortunately, we woke up the morning of our session to a torrential downpour! Nancy and I talked about rescheduling, but decided to wait a few hours and hope that it would clear up. Right before our scheduled meeting time, the rain completely stopped and the sun came out!

We had a beautiful afternoon walking around DUMBO and braving the Brooklyn Bridge. We finished our session with a glass of champagne on our rooftop, which is one our favorite places to spend our evenings! Because we wanted to be sure we had enough time to take photos before any rain moved back in, we decided to stay in one outfit for the whole session.

I searched high and low for an outfit that reflected my style now that I consider myself a New Yorker, and my DVF dress made me feel stylish while still comfortable. Drew wore a Smathers & Branson personalized needlepoint belt that I gave him when he graduated from law school and his favorite Paul Stuart sport coat. We cannot thank Nancy enough for the beautiful photos!

A Sand in the Toes Affair Paired with All Out Glamour

If you love the idea of a seaside fete but can’t quite let go of your glamorous ways, then this photo shoot is the answer to your wedding dreams. A mix of easy breezy and all out glam at the hands of  The Hidden Garden and André Maier Photography, it is sure to inspire a beachy and whole-heartedly gorgeous affair. Head to the vault for so much more plus a film by Cloudless Weddings below!

From The Hidden Garden…For this gorgeous shoot at Casa Del Mar, we pulled inspiration from the luxury hotel itself, as well as the oceanside community of Santa Monica. For the ceremony space, we focused on a softer palette that felt reminiscent of a California sunset – pampas grass paired with soft peach, blush and cream florals. The design was set on a natural wood structure, blending perfectly with the sand and sea backdrop. As we moved into the reception, we wanted to emphasize the relaxed beach setting while maintaining the grandeur of the Casa Del Mar ballroom. Distressed wood elements, punched up color, dark pillar candles and dramatic, oversize chairs throughout the room helped achieve this balance. We complimented the tablescapes with hand painted glass “messages in a bottle” that added an elegant beach inspired touch to the space.

From the Bride… While Patrick and I were planning our wedding we wanted to exude “classic elegance.” While we currently live in Chicago, where Patrick is from, I am from NEPA, so we wanted to combine both a warm and welcoming vibe with some city chic as we molded our backgrounds and our lives together. With this in mind, we fell in love with the Westmoreland Club in Wilkes-Barre,PA, a historic brownstone in the city center. Keeping the classic elegance in mind, we chose a neutral palette of ivory and blush with silver accents. We chose to have our wedding under the clubs white tent which allowed us to add in the extra details we so loved such as the crystal chandeliers and allowed our guests to enjoy the warm summer breeze. I wore a Pronovias gown and lace veil with Christian Louboutin shoes. Patrick wore designer Joseph Abboud, while the bridesmaids were dressed in Bill Levkoff.

A Breath of Fresh Spring Air Sure to Inspire Your Al Fresco Fetes

Don’t let spring’s crisp breeze scare you off from holding your special day al fresco style; take a cue from this shoot by Lauren Fair and let the beautiful outdoors embrace and inspire you! Held at Cedar Lakes Estate and decked out in florals by Wildflowers By Design, these pics have us wishing and hoping for spring to hurry on up – see them all in our Vault right here!

From Lauren FairCedar Lakes Estate is a stunning rustic elegant wedding venue set on top of the most beautiful hills, overlooking the NY mountains. For this shoot, we wanted to incorporate a light, springtime feel juxtaposed against the sweet little garden where they typically host rehearsal dinners. With a gorgeous gown from Claire Pettibone’s new line, Romantique, a stunner of a Susie Saltzman ring, and beautiful florals by Wildflowers by Design, all tied together by the expert creative eye of All Who Wander Events, this shoot was a dream from start to finish! Our incredibly sweet real couple, Nataly and Dan, braved the most freezing temperatures and winds and were so in love and cuddly in spite of the weather!

Our hope is to encourage couples to take it slow, craft a wedding day that feels genuine and right to you, soak in every moment, and consider having an outdoor reception!

This is How You Do Tropical Elegance in Los Cabos

I’ve got serious spring fever right now and this tropical goodness is just about sending me over the edge. Planned by Esoteric Events, it’s elegance done oh-so-right among palm trees and seaside sunsets that make the sand glow. Pretty dreamy right? And let’s not even get started on the gorg color palette. Just stroll on over to the The Vault for the beauty in full captured by Sally Pinera.

From Kristin Alexander at Esoteric EventsMonica and JC love to travel and after hearing about the newly built Cape Hotel they took a trip down there from Chicago to visit and fell in love. They wanted their wedding to feel like a Wes Anderson movie and they instantly knew The Cape was the perfect backdrop for it. The weekend kicked off with a daytime pool party followed by dinner and drinks in town. Guests were able to enjoy wonderful food, live music and walk the town together before the wedding the next day. Monica opted for a warm color palette reminiscent of a Cabo sunset with wood farm tables and chairs to work with the venue and the existing decor. With only their closest family and friends in attendance it was a tight nit group who knew how to party and danced the night away to The Cape’s resident DJ, DJ Capri.

This Cake Table is the Beginning and End of all Our Dessert Fantasies

We are kicking this story off with cake because my oh my that cake table is a good intro. It’s the beginning and end of all our dessert fantasies and just the tip of the goodness packed inside this baby shower. Crafted by a team of great vendors including design by Rock Paper Square , flowers by Verbena Floral Design, cake by White Pineapple and all captured by Lillie Louise Photography, hop on over to the vault for flowers, pops of color and sweets galore.

Our momma to be, Shara is the owner and operator of a furniture rental company in Victoria, BC. When her local wedding industry peeps found out her exciting news (that Bash Specialty would be adding a new member with 10 tiny fingers + 10 tiny toes) they all came together to surprise her with a baby shower designed just for her.

The shower was hosted in a photography studio with amazing natural light, modern concrete floors, cinderbloc walls, and bright white surfaces. The studio space provided the perfect blank canvas to host a shower.

When asked how to describe Shara, most would say playful, insanely thoughtful, and LOVES color. So we added pops of color to the florals, ceramics, accent linens, and even the cake!

Instead of a baby registry, Shara asked that guests help build her kid-friendly library. With that request her friend (and event stylist), Marika created a “LOVE NOTES” wall where guests could write a note to the momma to be/baby that would later be glued into the front of their gifted book.

What an amazing way to remember this monumental time in Shara’s life and a fun way to introduce baby to his/her new community during book time.

Another interactive element of the shower was a flower crown station where guests could create their very own flower crown to take away with them. Party favors aren’t just for kids! We hope you’ll enjoy this real-life baby shower just as much as we do.

Proof Neutral Weddings Are Beyond Gorgeous

Don’t get me wrong I love color at weddings, but there is something so incredibly romantic and tasteful about an all neutral palette and this wedding is living proof! From gorgeous nude-colored bridesmaid dresses to rich floral designs by Stylish Stems in white and soft blush, the subtle details of the day are pure perfection. With Invision Events behind the planning, this wedding was bound to be beautiful and the images captured by Hillary Lee Photography are unreal!

From Photographer, Hillary Leah… The detail of this wedding was absolutely incredibly. First off, the bridesmaid’s dresses were Show Me Your Mumu– which are to die for. Jacqui’s florals and centerpieces were so much fun to capture. The venue itself is gorgeous, especially in Mid-November. However, the head table is what had all of my attention. The dark stain head table with mercury glass and place settings made such a statement in that reception room. The chargers and gold china made for a photographer’s dream! My favorite thing about Jacqui and Zach was that they were intentional with incorporating pieces to their relationship (they dated since high school!). They handed out Chick-Fil-A sandwiches during the send-off because that’s where they had their first date. Although they had a gorgeous and big wedding, they were both so in the moment and hired incredible vendors that you could just tell they were at ease with thoroughly not worrying about anything! Favorite moment was when Zach saw Jacqui… I mean, just look at the picture!

From the bride and groom… Jacqui and Zach said “I do” on a crisp fall day at Foxhall Resort’s Legacy Lookout, overlooking the beautiful fall foliage in Atlanta, Georgia. Their vision of simple elegance was brought to life with stunning, yet understated details like a semi-naked wedding cake, farm estate tables, soft candlelight and plenty of lush greenery. Jacqui looked beautiful in her tulle ball gown that made it look like she was floating on air as she twirled around the dance floor with her sweet groom. The bridesmaids all wore Show Me Your Mumu and the groom + groomsmen looked sharp in their classic black tuxes. Even Jacqui and Zach’s pup, Turner, dressed the part with an adorable floral and greenery necklace that complimented the maids’ floral crowns. It was a beautiful celebration of love and family, as shown though lots of sweet, candid moments, hugs and pup snuggles.

From the bride… This may sound bad and I can’t believe I’m admitting it, but because Zach and I have been dating for seven years, its hard to remember the beginning of our relationship as it started out when I was only 15 and a sophomore in high school. I first met Zach on February 7th, 2009. I do remember that date because it was the morning of my first ACT, and my friend Brandy had to pick me up beforehand as I still wasn’t old enough to drive. We stopped by Chic-fil-A for a quick breakfast, and that’s when Zach walked in looking less than excited to be awake that early. He sat with us during the short time we had, and then we went our separate ways for the test. Later that evening, Brandy asked if I wanted to go to the movies with her, Zach, and one of their other best friends. I love the movies, so I agreed to go. Zach came straight from a baseball banquet (if that’s not a foreshadowing of our relationship, I don’t know what is), and of course the first words out of his mouth were complaints about having to dress nice (again.. The foreshadowing).

From that day forward, we spent a majority of our days rotating between each other’s tennis matches and baseball games and we became inseparable. We were able to tough it through two years of long distance while Zach was playing baseball for East Tennessee State University, and then by the grace of God, he made his way to the University of Georgia to continue his baseball career. We became even closer than we were before, which I didn’t think was possible, and were able to spend two years together in our favorite city. From homecomings and proms to high school graduations, to college graduations, to our first real world jobs, Zach and I have seen each at our worst but also at our best. I truly feel like the luckiest girl in the world to have such a selfless, supportive, encouraging, and loving best friend.

From the groom (about the proposal)… The first part of this whole process was picking out a ring. As everyone knows, Jacqui is a total perfectionist and is very specific when it comes to what she wants. This made the ring shopping process and planning the proposal intimidating to say the least. Luckily, after only about an hour of shopping, and a little help from my mom, I finally had the perfect ring that I knew Jacqui would fall in love with. Now came the part of asking Jacqui’s dad for her hand in marriage. I decided to do it at one of his favorite places- the golf course. We booked a tee time at Towne Lake Hills, and I had my fingers crossed that he would be having a good round when it came time to ask him. Thankfully he was having fun through the front nine, but I was not so fortunate. My golf game was struggling as all I could think about was what I was going to say. After 9 holes of running the scenario through my head, I finally built up the courage to ask him. Even though I caught him off guard, he gave me his permission to ask Jacqui. It had been a long time coming, and he was excited that it was finally going to happen. On a side note, my golf game drastically improved on the back nine.

Planning the proposal was the next step. My one requirement throughout the whole planning process was that it had to be a complete and total surprise. It is close to impossible to surprise Jacqui, but I was up for the task. With that being said, Jacqui and I have always done adventurous things together such as skydiving (I now hate flying), swimming with sharks, snowboarding, white water rafting, and the list continues. The only activity that we had not done together, which happened to be one of Jacqui’s favorite things to do, was zip lining. I started researching the best location to have this go down, and that’s when I decided on Historic Banning Mills, the world’s longest zip line canopy tour. I then called and got the entire staff on board with my plan for the day. Now the real work began- I had to invite families, grandparents, and siblings, all while keeping this a secret from Jacqui. After numerous secret meetings, we had all of the details worked out.

The big day was finally here, and I picked Jacqui up to go and start our zip line adventure. We arrive at Banning Mills and the life changing adventure is about to begin. We were paired with about 8 other people, and I told Jacqui we needed to let them go first. Jacqui doesn’t like waiting so she was not happy when got stuck in the back. Now we had to pick an order that we would stay in through the whole tour. Obviously I needed to go first, but again, Jacqui did not want to be the last person to go each time. I finally told her that I would be too scared to go if I went last, and she agreed to the last position. The tour was going smoothly, and Jacqui still had no idea what she was in for. Then there we were at the last zip line. Unlike the other zip lines, this last one dropped down below the trees so you couldn’t see the landing. I zipped down and our families were waiting at the landing with everything in place. I get the ring from my dad and take a deep breath. I then gave the guide a thumbs up and he radios in telling Jacqui she was good to go. She comes down the line, and after she came up from under the trees she immediately started tearing up. She stopped on the landing, and I got down on one knee. Luckily, she said yes!
