We’re Fans of This Bride’s Edgy yet Romantic Style

We’re always obsessed with Rime Arodaky‘s rockstar gowns, so whenever a Bride dons one for her wedding day, we’re all heart eyes. Amanda complemented her two-piece lace number with an edgy quartz crown by Crowns and Wreaths, sleek silver Aquazurra sandals, and a perfectly undone bouquet of white blooms by La Rosa Canina. Her Florence wedding looks as good as she does, so head to the Vault to see all of ARTIESE Fine Art Photographer‘s beautiful images.

Whimsical

From ARTIESE Fine Art PhotographerThere’s nothing more romantic than a garden ceremony in Florence and an al fresco reception dinner to follow. Amanda and Kevin’s wedding was simply a dream. After having been together for 10 years and starting a family (they have a one and a half-year-old daughter together), there was no better way to celebrate than this elegant affair.

The Bride and Groom chose Villa La Vedetta as their venue, a quiet hotel nestled in the hills of Florence. The Villa was absolutely breathtaking. The ceremony took place in the gardens, where La Rosa Canina Firenze showcased their beautiful work through two large flower urns that the Bride and Groom stood between. The aisle was covered with white and blush tone rose petals, which gave a very romantic vibe to the evening.

The guests anxiously awaited the Bride’s arrival as they held on to paper cones filled with rose petals to throw during the exit. A string quartet of all females from the renowned The Alma Project played beautiful music throughout the ceremony. The Groom walked in with his mom as the string quartet played “Your Song” by Elton John. The guests all rose as the Bride and her father entered while the string quartet played “Bittersweet Symphony” by the Verve, one of the Bride’s favorite songs. The officiant of this ceremony was the Bride’s uncle, somebody who is very near and dear to her heart. The ceremony script was designed and written by none other than the Bride and Groom themselves, making it extra special. After the hand written vows were spoken, the rings were exchanged, and the kiss was given, the Bride and Groom exited to “Unchained Melody” by the Righteous Brothers as rose petals filled the air and smiles and tears were had by all.

After a quick cocktail hour filled with music by the quartet, prosecco, and fantastic Italian hors d’oeuvres, it was time to move into the reception. The guests were seated on the terrace, which had an exceptional view of the city of Florence. One long table seated the 50 guests, with white flower arrangements and a lot of candles filling the centre of the table. The Bride and Groom sat in the middle of the table with lush green arrangements on the backs of their chairs. As the courses were served, speeches were said, tears were shed, and laughs were echoing. With a small intimate wedding such as this one, the speeches feel much more special, as everyone there has a close relationship with the Bride and Groom.

As the sun was setting, the Bride and Groom cut their traditional Italian wedding cake, called a Millefeuille cake, and popped a bottle of champagne. The dancing commenced with a mix of 90s R&B and soul music. To finish off the night’s festivities, an old fashioned gelato cart rolled in, serving the guests ice cream cones until the evening ended. What a beautiful night!

See the Wedding our Editors Can’t Stop Thinking About

When my husband and I renew our vows one day, we’ll be calling La Fete Weddings, because this right here is all my wedding dreams come to life. I honestly thought I was looking at a dreamy, Italian destination wedding the first time I scrolled through the beautiful gallery of images by Brumley and Wells and was completely blown away when I realized this gorgeous event took place much closer to home – Sunstone Vineyards and Winery in California! This European-esque celebration came together through the work of some of the industry’s finest vendors – Archive Rentals, TEAM Hair and Makeup, and Ambient Event Design just to name a few – and is one of those weddings you won’t be able to stop thinking about for days.

Charmed with old world elegance, masterfully considered design, and the classic romance of stone, hand-hewn beams from Queen Elizabeth’s rose garden, and brooding tones of natural light pouring in to every room, Sunstone Winery provides the perfect setting for a timeless wedding. Brett and Sarah’s day was no exception. The ceremony took place under the live oak, surrounded by the property’s vineyard, and followed by the reception in the back grounds of the estate.

5 Ways To Fake It When Your Summer Tan Fades

With a mild start to fall this year, we’ve had plenty of opportunities to soak up the early autumn sun. But don’t be fooled my friends, those cold days of fall are right around the corner and that summer tan will start to fade—leaving you with the task of faking it. Unless you’re jet-setting to a tropical island anytime soon, you’ll want to check out these five ways to faux glow this season!

Coconut Melting Tanning Balm Face & Body

I personally don’t love the smell of self tanners, but this one is the best I’ve found yet! Rather than a lotion, it comes in the form of a coconut balm, which smells lovely. It’s perfect if you’re looking for a mild, natural looking tan that doesn’t scream I just put self tanner on last night!

‘Bronze’ Shimmer Brick Compact

I’ve used this shimmer brick for years and am absolutely obsessed with it’s versatility. From highlighting the bridge of your nose and cheekbones to using it as an eye shadow, it gives me the glow I need when the winter blues set in.

Trystal Self Tanning Bronzing Minerals

A mineral powder that self tans while you wear it? Sign me up! This unique formula interacts with your moisturizer or liquid foundation base to tan your skin, while micronized crystals reflect light to create a smooth skin finish.

‘Somerville360°’ Tanning Towelettes

These tanning towelettes are my go-to when I need a fresh all-over glow. The best part? They don’t streak! Within 2-4 hours you’ll be looking like you just walked off the beach.

Soleil de La Mer

Prefer the classic self tanner lotion? Nothing beats Soleil de La Mer. Talk about beach babe!

Start Dreaming of Spring with this Boho Mountain Elopement Shoot

Towards the end of every winter, little buds start to pop up and spring starts to makes its subtle yet steady arrival. Tangerine Room Events tapped into this annual, magical masterpiece and used it as inspiration for their elopement shoot, captured here by the talented Tamara Gruner. With pretty patterns and gorgeous textiles, and beautiful blooms to boot, these pics have us eager to skip ahead to next spring and soak up all the wonder that it brings. Don’t you agree!?

From Tangerine Room EventsThe inspiration for this styled elopement began with the textures, layers and feelings of anticipation that come with the renewal of spring. In the Rocky Mountains of Colorado, mountain elevations can still be full of snow, while the spring sun shines brightly and pod-like buds and moss spring from the hard ground. The creative team behind this editorial shoot wanted to reflect the sweet time of renewal and anticipation brought forth each spring season. Delicate but textured details were woven throughout the intimate design, creating inviting spaces to gather throughout the mountain venue. The airy color palette suggested a pull toward warmer days, while romantic, jewel toned accents gave nod to the richness and romance of the scene.

Throw a Glam Gal-O-Ween Party Without a Stitch of Orange

Throwing a Halloween get together with your girls? This glamour infused inspiration from McKenna Bleu and Lindsey Regan Thorne takes traditional holiday decor and gives it a layer of pretty. Glam details like gilded pumpkins, lace skulls, and glittering face paint are all the reason to throw a fun Gal-o-ween party. Read up on these blogger’s tips for the perfect halloween bash complete with delicious sips.

In our world, there are no age limits or amount of ‘girly’ that can’t take over Halloween. Call it, ‘Glam-O-Ween’ or ‘Gal-O-Ween,’ if you will… Both totally encompass our idea of the perfect Halloween soirée. Here’s our take on Gal-O-Ween gathering! We both gravitate towards color palettes that are light and airy, so when scheming up a theme around a holiday that is typically dark and moody we ran into a few road blocks, but quickly found our happy place.

We started with a space that consisted of light furniture and white walls. We steered away from the typical, ‘Halloween orange’ and pulled out the dramatic stops with blacks and grays and softened with $2. 99 Trader Joe eucalyptus bunches. We used varying sizes of artificial, stylish, pumpkins to create tonal layers (thank you, Target). Plastic spiders and bats erupted within our girly soirée, making it perfect amount of elegant-cheesy!

We ditched the basic champagne and rosé drinks and went for something that will give us a little warmer during the cooler, fall months. We came up with a sage garnish cocktail, consisting of bourbon, ginger beer, a lemon wedge, sage and thyme. Even the girliest of girly-girls will enjoy this drink!

We like clothes (obviously;) and said bye-bye to the idea of costumes and wore outfits that were true to us (and that we will be able to wear again). McKenna’s dress will transition so well into New Years Eve parties and Lindsey’s is the perfect mix dressy/ casual for a holiday gathering. We hired a face painter who completely transformed our look! What gal doesn’t love to be drenched in a little sparkle?!

Tips for Creating the Perfect Gal-O-Ween Soirée

Select one bold color to intermix as an accent (ours was black)

Less can be more (believe it or not)

Find two or three areas to deck out within your space (ours was the bar cart, foster table and coffee table)

Create a costume with what you already own (then add sparkle)

Think outside of the box when it comes to a signature cocktail. Ours didn’t scream Halloween, but the sage mixed well with the soft eucalyptus that was used in the decor. It was also a good, fall, low-calorie drink.

High Fashion Inspiration for the Modern Bride

If you’re idea of modern includes stark, neutral design, then let this colorful inspiration prove you wrong. Incorporating high fashion beauty with modern color blocking and the most vibrant of hues, this shoot planned by Chloe and Mint, with florals by Of the Flowers and images captured by Sally Pinera, will have you crushing on gorgeous gowns.

Unusual. Unique. Out of the box. Modern. – These were the words surrounding this amazing color block theory shoot. For the modern bride wanting to express a unique wedding that is highly fashionable, this is for you! Color blocking has been around for ages but we don’t see them well executed at weddings. Going from a singular color to multiple tones, color blocking allows the bride to focus on very intricate and particular details to execute tastefully. We had the pleasure of working with Gabrielle who was our fashion stylist -With gorgeous Marchesa and Claire Pettibone gowns and simple yet alluring makeup. We had soft pink with poppy red, orange sorbet with lavender, and baby blue with sunny yellow. All of these color blocks are versatile and would be perfect for any season! For the final tablescape encompassing all three color blocks, we had an all white tabletop, floral arrangement, ghost chairs against silky assorted fabrics hanging representing each color block. We hope to inspire the next modern bride to do something as unique as these inspirations!

6 Things You NEED To Know Before Starting Your Dress Search

You’ve had your engagement party, secured your venue and wedding planner… now, on to the fun part—dress shopping! The last thing you want is your dress experience to be something out of the Bridesmaids movie scene. So, today we’re sitting down with Amber and Dawn of Kinsley James Couture Bridal to find out everything you need to know before starting your search. Happy dress hunting, loves!

Research + Educate Yourself

At first it might seem that all wedding dresses are the same. Before coming in to your appointment, it’s helpful to familiarize yourself with basic styles and silhouettes of wedding gowns. Think about how you want to feel on your wedding day and what look you are trying to achieve. Bring in photos of dresses that fit the look you want, because it will really give your stylist a sense of direction.

Less is more.

Invite only those people whose opinions mean the most to you in your decision making. It’s difficult to put a hard number on it, but it always seems better to keep the count down to 1-3 guests for your initial wedding gown search. That way you don’t get overwhelmed with tons of dresses, tons of guests and tons of opinions. If you’re one who has many friends, invite them all back when you’ve narrowed your search down to 2 or 3 gowns. This way, it’s easier to handle your own emotions after figuring out the majority of your decision and it allows your friends to be happy they’re apart of the decision too!

Don’t forget—being engaged and wedding dress shopping should be one of the most happiest times! There is so much excitement and lot’s of emotions wrapped up into this experience. Only bring the friends or family members who support you and who will also bring positive energy to your appointment.

Be open to customizations and don’t over analyze!

Sometimes your stylist might suggest a small change to make the dress exactly what you are looking for. It may be hard to visualize, but remember that the stylists are the professionals and will not make suggestions they do not feel comfortable with. Small adjustments can make a big difference to make sure that dress fits and looks prefect. Also, try not to over analyze the dress. Dress shopping really is a gut feeling. Trust that! If you absolutely love a dress that makes you feel special, and like a bride, but maybe doesn’t fit your venue, it’s ok! There are no rules.

Think about your budget.

Make sure you have a gauge on what you want to spend before trying on dresses. Make sure you discuss this concept with someone close (or the someone that’s paying for it) and come up with a price range or a maximum budget you’re comfortable with spending on your dress. This step alone will help narrow down your search and help you find the right fit!

Give yourself plenty of time.

Know your wedding date or a close estimate of when the big day is. It’s important to give yourself plenty of time to find the right one so your decision is never rushed. Our dresses take about 5-7 months to be handmade and we give 2 months for alterations. We recommend starting the dress hunt at around 10 months prior to your wedding, but a year is even better. We do offer an expedited process with a rush fee, but it’s better to give yourself as much time as you need to find that perfect dress!

You can say yes at anytime!

Take a few minutes before your first appointment and remind yourself that this is not just a shopping day with family and friends. You are going shopping for your wedding dress! Sometimes it’s easy to lose sight of that, but remember that this is a very special moment. It might take going to a few different stores, and sometimes it might be the first stop. Just be ready to say yes when you find the one you love, because after all, that’s the reason for your search!

A Miami Wedding With a Glamorous, Art Deco Twist

Staying true to the kitschy, art deco vibes of Miami, this couple threw a winter wedding that fits right in with all that Florida glamour. Awash in stunning alfresco tables under a sea of twinkle lights planned by Masi Events with jewel toned florals by Ines Naftali, and imagery by Gianny Campos, this celebration sparkles from beginning to confetti ending.

From the bride…Our whole approach to planning the wedding was creating a party that we would love going to. We toyed with the idea of several different locations including New York and Italy before settling on Miami, the city where we met, fell in love, and had some of the best nights of our lives. January seemed the ideal time for my family from New York to get in some sunshine, and to feel like the whole wedding weekend was one amazing vacation. I’ve always been inspired by the kitschy and art deco vibes in Miami, and wanted the design elements to reflect that while still feeling modern. We also chose darker, sexier colors and luxurious fabrics, almost as if we had transplanted an NYC winter wedding to Miami. Not to mention the were other fun elements, like a white vintage GT0 ride to the reception, and a black and white checkerboard dance floor. While it was super important to us that the wedding felt felt fun and fresh, we also wanted to pay respect to our heritages and traditions. For the cocktail hour we had a live Cuban band and a cigar roller while mojitos were passed around. For the reception we had a traditional Albanian band and incorporated special traditions, like having Alexis’s godfather unveil me, and Alexis and I leading the valle (traditional Albanian dance).

Don’t Forget to Tip These Vendors at Your Wedding

On your wedding day, it’s all hands on deck! From coordinators to musicians to servers, a LOT of people will be working together to make your big day everything you dreamed.

In most cases, a job well done deserves a little extra appreciation (in the form of gratuity). The last thing you’ll want to do during your wedding is figure out who to tip and how much. So we created this cheat sheet to help you plan way in advance.

Before you head to the bank, read over your contracts. Some vendors – like bartenders – include gratuity in the fine print. If you’re already being charged 10-15%, you don’t need to double tip.

onelove photography

Officiant: You should pay the travel costs for any out-of-town officiant. A $50 gift or gift card is a thoughtful way to show your appreciation. Some clergy members can’t accept a direct tip. Honor them with a donation to a meaningful charity instead.

Wedding planner, coordinator, or catering manager: Whether your planner has been involved since Day 1 or only the Big Day, she has a big job making your wedding day run smoothly and stress-free. If she owns the business, you’re not required to tip. If there’s an assistant, consider tipping $75 – $150, depending on how involved she’s been.

If you’re working with a catering or banquet manager through the wedding venue, consider tipping $250-$500 for her services.

Jenny Moloney Photography

Hair and makeup artist: Tip the same as you would at the salon: 10-15%. If you’re paying for your bridesmaids’ services, keep this in mind while budgeting. If they’re paying for their own, you might want to add it to the cost up front.

Photographer and videographer: If the photographer or videographer owns the company (which is usually the case), it’s not necessary to tip. If they bring an assistant, you could tip the assistant between $50-$75.

Bartenders: Check your contract. Bartenders’ gratuity is usually included in the overall catering costs. If not, consider tipping 10-15% of the pre-tax bill. (Side note: remove the tip jar! If you’re planning to tip, make sure they aren’t also collecting tips from your guests during the event.)

Jose Villa Photography

Caterer and waiters: Gratuity is almost always included in the contract. If you’re feeling generous, consider tipping $10-20 per person. Keep in mind, they’re not depending on tips for their payment.

Delivery and rental staff: Your catering manager or wedding planner usually contracts these. Since they’ll (hopefully) be all set before you arrive, talk to her about the best way to tip. A good rule of thumb is $10-20 per person.

Musicians: Sometimes this is included in the contract, so read the fine print. For the ceremony, tip between $25-50. For a longer reception, tip $50-100. Don’t forget the sound technician!

Mint Photography

Chauffeur: Whether it’s a party bus or a horse-drawn carriage, tip your driver 15% of the pre-tax charge.

Restroom or coat check attendants: If you’re planning to have a coat check or restroom attendants, plan to tip $1-2 per guest. Place a sign near the coat check to let guests know gratuity has been covered.

Security: Whether you’re working through the venue or hiring off-duty police, you should tip the people keeping you and your guests safe. A good rule of thumb is 10% of the pre-tax charge or $50 for the night.

Florist, baker, calligrapher: Odds are these vendors are business owners, so they’re not expecting a tip. If you feel they went above and beyond to deliver your dream, you might want to send them a small tip in the mail after the event (in a thank-you note, of course)!

Show extra love to those – like the planner, band, florist, etc. – who did outstanding work by writing a glowing review online. For most vendors, your recommendation is more valuable than gold!

This Wedding Brings Southern California Style to Traverse City

From the artful floral crowns crafted by Darling Botanical to the macrame backdrop at the reception, this Traverse City wedding is full of Southern California’s signature style. We love the effortless, boho vibe, but what we love even more is the playful nature of this adorable couple and their joyful smiles captured by Anna Lord Studio  – they can’t take their eyes off each other!

Bohemian

From Anna Lord StudioChaise and Michael’s wedding day was unbelievably intimate and filled with tears, laughter, and quality time with their closest family and friends. Their semi-destination wedding in Traverse City, Michigan, brought out some of their oldest and dearest friends from California, which made for an even more meaningful celebration. They both have such great taste, and it definitely reflected their modern, bohemian, and romantic style in their wedding details.

One of my favorite moments was when we were doing their portraits, they had decided to do the famous “dirty-dancing” move in the midst of this beautiful field with horses and rolling hills! Even beyond how fun that was, their love for each other is one of the sweetest and most caring that I’ve ever seen. They concluded their time at the venue by dancing on the deck of the barn under the beautiful night sky. It was a beautiful day!

A Classic Wedding In Our Nation’s Capital

A classic wedding in one of the most iconic cities in the country. This is the stuff we ache for around here. Shannon Moffit captured this elegant affair in our nation’s capital and with the white bouquets and champagne bridesmaids’ dresses, I have no doubt that these looks will never, ever go out of style. See them all in our gallery right this way and enjoy this sweet love story play out below!

From Shannon Moffit PhotographyOur nation’s capital, Washington D. C., is a symbol for classical elegance, home to some of the greatest examples of 20th century neoclassical architecture, a style known for its clean lines and symmetry. Kate and Adam’s wedding was not only an embodiment of this architectural style, but also a perfect reflection of the city in which they wed – classic and refined with a modern twist. The two said their vows on a cool March afternoon, a few days before spring, at The St. Aloysius Church, a Roman Catholic parish listed on the National Register of Historic Places. After the ceremony, we headed to the marble arches of the Jefferson Memorial for some luminous portraits of the couple, the bride and her maids in unique champagne-colored BHLDN gowns, and the groom and groomsmen in custom black tuxedos from The Black Tux. The wedding festivities continued at one of D. C.’s finest historic hotels, The Omni Shoreham. The reception space was dressed in white – complete with white garden roses, elevated snowball hydrangeas, and white tulips. Kate sparkled in her Lazaro gown, which flowed delicately as her new husband spun her around the dance floor to the tunes from their live band. Guests danced the night away until a final sparkler exit, the perfect ending to a classic event.

A Romantic Austin Wedding With Serious French Feels

What does it take to transform Texas into a French-inspired garden? Scroll through this pretty gallery by Mint Photography, and you’ll find out. Bird Dog Wedding amped up the already European feel of Le San Michele by peppering terra cotta and soft blue accents with the organically styled blooms from Clementine Botanical Art on the rustic, farm-style tables dressed in La Tavola linens. The final look will transport you straight to Provence.

Romantic

From Mint PhotographyKaitlin and Barrett had family and friends traveling from all over to join them in celebrating their union. They loved the casual, French garden setting of Le San Michele and wanted to create an intimate dinner party for their guests. Every detail was beautifully thought out but with an informal feel. The palette was composed of nudes and soft pinks with added pops of terra cotta and pale blue. Florals and decor were soft and romantic and included organically styled blooms, flowering branches, and foliage from the talented Clementine Botanical Art. Pale blue line napkins, terra cotta name pieces, brass floral holders, and whimsical stationery and signage carried the design. The venue’s blue chairs added a touch of whimsy to the ceremony and dinner party. Following dinner, everyone danced the night away under the stars!

5 Beauty Tricks to Help You Transition Into Fall and Winter

While autumn and winter are some of the most wonderful times of the year, the dry air, the stress and the indulgent eating can really throw a wrench in our beauty and skincare routines. To re-set for colder temperatures and be ready to face all the seasons have in store, here are five easy beauty tricks you can do now to keep your skin, hair and nails healthy, clear and bright!

Jose Villa Photography

Get a thicker moisturizer
Just like you don’t wear the same clothes in spring/summer as you would in autumn/winter, you also don’t want to use the same skincare products! Whereas in the warmer months, the focus is on keeping oil in check with lighter lotions, in the fall and winter it’s all about hydration. Choose a heavier cream to combat dry skin and give your skin the moisture it needs to take on the wind and chill.

Schedule a fall facial
Schedule a fall facial to start the season with a clean slate. Facials this time of year can help repair sun damage from the summer and rejuvenate your skin to prepare for the dryness of winter. With plenty of facial options out there, do some research and find one that will be right for your skin. Besides leaving with your skin feeling amazing, another benefit is that most aestheticians will give personalized product recommendations if you’re looking to switch up your skincare routine!

Get a paraffin manicure
In most salons a paraffin wax is just a simple add-on to your normal manicure or pedicure. It’s perfect for this time of year because cold weather can mean that your cuticles crack, weaker nails break and polish chips easier. The wax will soften your dry hands and tough heels and create a protective layer over the skin that keeps moisture from escaping.

Transition to fall and winter makeup hues
Besides the leaves starting to change and the temperatures dropping, one of the truest signs of fall is when women start to pick fall colors for their manicures! Say goodbye to summery hot pink, cherry red, or baby blue and get ready for midnight blues, burgundy, pewter, and bordeaux red. Besides your nails, try a vampy lip or try a dark smoky eye.

Deep condition your hair or get a hair mask
While you can get a deep conditioning treatment at your next haircut, there are plenty of easy ways to do this at home! You can make one from natural ingredients like coconut oil, avocado, honey and olive oil. For a step-up from a deep conditioner, try a hair mask. A good hair mask adds an extra layer of moisture to protect hair from heat tools, sun, dry weather, damaging products, and everyday wear and tear.

An African Safari

KT Merry Photography

Have an adventure-packed safari in Botswana, Tanzania or Kenya and prepare to be transported to another world. Get swept up in the striking landscapes, luxury camp sites, magnificent wild animals, and classic romance. You’ll do game tours during the day, and then retire at night to lodges where you will dine, relax and sleep under the stars.

The Seychelles

Mariel Hannah

The Seychelles are an archipelago of 115 islands off the coast of East Africa and is a place that honeymoon dreams are made of. In this secluded hideaway in the Indian Ocean, you’ll find deserted white-sand beaches straight out of a scene from Robinson Crusoe. Think palm trees reaching into clear turquoise water, rich wildlife, and year-round great weather. You’ll also find some of the world’s most luxurious resorts, ready to serve honeymooners’ every whim.

Morocco

Catherine Mead

In Morocco, you’ll discover a country that is full of ancient charm. As you make your way through the cities of Marrakesh, Fes and Tangier, you’ll see breathtaking architecture, jaw-dropping interiors, secret courtyard gardens, and labyrinth markets full of spices, home goods and artisan crafts. Tour grand tiled-palaces, drink mint tea, visit the spa, ride a camel through the desert, or surf at the beach. It’s a pick your own adventure honeymoon, but one that is sure to be filled with intoxicating scents, sights and experiences.

Bora Bora

Bora Bora is a South Pacific island located in French Polynesia and is one of the most romantic places in the world. With the emerald-green volcanic craters in the distance, crystal-clear and turquoise blue water, and secluded strings of overwater bungalows it’s a complete private oasis. While you could easily be content spending your entire time relaxing in the privacy of your bungalow or hotel pool and spa, there are plenty of excursions and activities to do as well. Take jet skis around the island, snorkel with sharks, dine on a private island, or explore the lagoons by kayak or boat. It’s no wonder that Bora Bora is one of the most popular honeymoon destinations around.

France

Oliver Fly

The appeal of France is entirely obvious. There’s world-class dining, celebrated architecture, elusive style, magnificent castles and charming coastal cities. So prepare to indulge in fantastic cuisine, rich culture, and coastal extravagance. Start in Paris and explore the city by foot, wandering around the quaint arrondissements to take in the sights. Get your fill of museums, the opera, or ballet but make sure to spend plenty of time eating, drinking, and shopping in one of the chicest and most magical cities in the world. Next take your pick of castle touring in the Loire Valley, wine tasting in Bordeaux, exploring the lavender fields of Provence, or sunbathing on the French Riviera. The country is so romantic and beautiful, you two might just decide to never come home.

Italy

Kay English Photography

Italy is a complete and total dream, so it may seem impossible to pick where to go when everywhere is so spectacular! To get a little taste of everything, start in a major city like Rome or Florence to get your fill of culture and history. Spend a couple days in Venice, the enchanting floating city full of canals and old-world palaces. Drive through the rolling hills of Tuscany, take a cooking class, drink lots of wine, explore charming old towns, and if you don’t get gelato at least once a day, you’re not doing it right. On the Amalfi Coast pinch yourself in picture-perfect towns like Positano, Capri or Sorrento where you will drink limencello, swim in the sun, and soak in la dolce vita.

Thailand

Simply Sarah Photography

Thailand is best known for its tropical islands, delicious food and smiling people. Fly into Bangkok and explore the floating markets, ornate temples, street food and vibrant nightlife. After a couple days of craziness head north into the mountains of Chiang Mai where you can retreat and relax. In northern Thailand you will explore gilded Buddhist temples, spend the day with elephants, and take cooking classes where you’ll make fresh papaya salad, pad thai and curry. Finally make your way to the islands, there are dozens to choose from and all stunningly beautiful but each has its unique charms. Koh Phi Phi is breathtakingly beautiful but can get very crowded with young travelers looking to party. Instead, try Koh Lanta, Koh Yao or Koh Tao for more quiet and laidback beach vibes. You can’t go home until you indulge yourselves in as many beach-front Thai massages as possible.

Bali

Blush Wedding Photography

In Bali, Indonesia you’ll find a paradise full of lush landscapes of green rice paddies, idyllic beaches, hidden waterfalls, monkey forests and serene temples. Bali is both spiritual and magical, and yet is still home to some of the most luxurious resorts in the world, diverse enough in style that honeymooners are sure to find their perfect place to soak in the marital bliss.

“I Am Rooted, but I Flow” Wedding Editorial

“I am rooted, but I flow.” – One of the most renowned quotes by Virginia Woolf and the inspiration for this wedding editorial at The Resort at Paws Up.  Habitat Events created a wedding that captures the very essence of Montana’s wild appeal – the Bride’s romantic locks, her chic and minimal long-sleeve Houghton gown, the rustic ceremony setup amidst the golden grass, the earthy tones of the reception florals… When put together, these pieces become an effortless embodiment of Woolf’s words. You won’t want to miss a single image from this shoot, captured by Simply Sarah Photography.

From Habitat EventsWe are continually inspired by the elements that most evoke Montana – the golden prairie grasses, the rustic touches of a working ranch, and a smooth bourbon at the end of the day. The Resort at Paws Up has these elements in spades and provided the perfect setting for an elegant Montana wedding. To complement the stunning backdrop, we brought in touches of undone glamour with the florals and décor…you know, a little “I am rooted but I flow” Virgina Woolf style. Simply Sarah Photography, as always, beautifully captured the ease and true essence of Montana and its love stories.

In a hauntingly beautiful medieval church in Orvieto, Italy, Lauryn and Joe said their vows to each other in front of their closest friends and family. When planning their destination wedding, the couple knew they would choose somewhere in Italy to bring their guests for a long celebration. Lauryn stumbled upon La Badia in Orvieto and knew it was the perfect venue for their wedding. The gorgeous crumbling stone arch and poetic tower set the stage for the most beautiful day. Lush greenery and understated flowers adorned the venue and highlighted it’s natural beauty. Lauryn looked radiant in a Casey Tanswell gown and Joe chose a classic Italian linen suit in light blue to compliment the simple palette. Long table dinners chock full of delicious Italian food and local wine kept the guests well fed and watered and fairy lights took the guests partying well into the night under the gorgeous Umbrian stars.
