This Trick Will Make Your Wedding Feel More Expensive

There’s no denying that the littlest details can add so much to your Big Day—but it’s also important to consider the bigger, statement-making details like your setting. Want a waterfront fete but can’t quite afford one? We’re loving this fabulous trend: poolside soirees. Equally dreamy and in most cases, way more affordable than that oceanfront venue you’ve been eyeing. See a handful of our favorites below!

At-Home Romance

This Bride and Groom didn’t have to travel farther than their own backyard for a dream wedding venue. With gorgeous mountain views and a newly landscaped garden, their Fallbrook home played host to a romantic al fresco celebration inspired by the moonlight. From a wildly romantic floral arch crafted by Plenty of Petals to the prettiest garden details designed by To La Lune Events, get inspired to throw your wedding from the comfort of home courtesy of stunning photographs by Carmen Santorelli.

Durham Ranch Dreaminess

Set at Durham Ranch, this fete designed by Kathleen Deery and planned by Laurie Arons mimics the modern but classic, chic but laid back style of the space. Looking out onto that gorgeous pool helps. See more captured by the fabulous Meg Smith

Rancho Las Lomas Fete

Playing off of Pantone’s 2016 color of the year, Rose Quartz and Serenity, this couple took that pretty color pairing and ran with it, poolside. LVL Weddings & Events helped execute the vision and Brandon Kidd snapped all the pretty you absolutely need to see.

Boho Beauty by the Pool

Anthropologie lovers take note, because this wedding has all the bohemian-style elegance you could ever want. The feather-infused floral design, the whimsical wedding emblem, the cheeky little details woven throughout. No surprise the ladies of Bash Please brought this celebration to life, and the photos? All thanks to mister, Tec Petaja. Excuse us while we go live in this gallery forever and ever.

Miramar Beach Bash

Just because you’re on the coast, doesn’t mean you have to go full on “beachy” with your wedding style. Eva Williams Clark of Belle of the Ball let the coast inspire this wedding’s design in stylish, subtle ways and infused the whole space with a romantic, rustic elegant vibe. The results? PerfectHarwell Photography captured all – see more in our Vault right this way!

Super Chic Downtown LA Engagement Shoot

If these pics don’t make you fall in love with this couple (which they will, no doubt about it), just take a read through their proposal story below and you’ll want to be bffs immediately. Let’s just say it includes an awkward Airbnb situation, reservations gone awry, shots of Patron and drunk wedding guests. I love everything about it… and everything about this chic engagement shoot from Jen of Betsi Ewing Studio. Soak up all the style and smiles right this way!

From the Bride-to-be… We didn’t want to do the traditional “love birds in a meadow” that you see a lot of with engagement shoots. I went through Pinterest and blogs to slowly build a storyboard and found that we kept leaning towards urban shots with strong architectural features. Our goal was to just be us (a better dressed version of us)- in love and exploring these iconic buildings in downtown LA. Jen from Betsi Ewing Studio made us feel uber comfortable, and with her art direction, our vision came to life!

We met online while living in Monterey, CA. Our first date was at a local coffee shop called East Village. He ordered a mocha and I ordered a black coffee. We joked about our difference in drink choices which helped break the ice. Coffee turned into dinner which turned into drinks which turned into us getting caught in the misty-rain Monterey is known for. The night ended with us being soaking wet and a clumsy kiss. He said “I love you” six months later on a rooftop party in Brooklyn. We moved in together a little less than six months after that.

Fast forward four years later and we are heading to Santa Barbara for a weekend away. I knew something was up because this was the first (and last) trip he planned all by himself. Things started to go awry from the start with the massage he had scheduled for Sunday getting canceled on our drive up. Next, we are pulling up to the Airbnb he had rented only to be greeted by a 70 year old man named Bob. The “romantic gazebo and separate quarters” were actually a gazebo covered in weeds and a bedroom/ bathroom across the hall 4ft from Bob’s bedroom. His reservations at Ysidro Ranch, known for their breathtaking views, was after sunset at 8:30pm and pitch black as far as the eyes could see. After me refusing to go on a “walk to view the grounds” because it was freezing outside, he quickly looked up a plan b. We hopped in an Uber to the Four Seasons bar for a romantic night cap. When we walked in the door we were greeted by a full wedding party 3-sheets to the wind. I was instantly hit on by a groomsman because I was the only female he hadn’t seen all night. He quickly saw Matt and tried redeeming himself by buying us both a drink. While we sat by the fireplace trying to continue our date night, drunk wedding guest came and went on our couch telling us their life stories. Matt used the excuse to get away from everyone and asked me to walk down to the ocean. Then it happened. Out of the corner of my eye I saw him on his knee, my heart fell to my stomach, and I tried for the longest time not to look at him. I finally did and completely blanked on what he said after “I love you so much”. It must have been good because I said yes! After hugs and kisses, we walked back into the bar to find the guy who hit on me sitting at a table by himself surrounded by shots of Patron. We sat down and explained several times to him we were not married and by just engaged, we meant we literally just got engaged. Finally it hit him and he said- “Wait, so when you first walked in the bar, you weren’t engaged. Then, when you just walked back in the bar right now, you are in engaged? WHAT?? CHEERS!!!” We celebrated and had a with a few shots with him before calling it a night. The best part is Bob said we were the 3rd couple to get engaged while staying with him! Obviously Matt wasn’t the only one to be tricked with his Airbnb ad. :)

A Jewel-Toned Celebration on the Lawn of the Four Seasons

The only giveaway that this gorgeous spring-like celebration took place in the middle of January is the abundance of rich jewel tones. They add a gorgeous, cozy layer to this Austin affair designed by 36th Street Events along with florals by Stems. With images by Jen Dillender, set your sights on a wedding day blessed with perfect weather and the ultimate fairytale backdrop of the lawn of the Four Seasons.

Our sweet, stylish bride, Nicole, envisioned a lush outdoor wedding, reminiscent of spring (despite taking place in the middle of January) and she trusted the talented team behind 36th Street Events to make it happen. Not only did they exceed her expectations with their beautiful design, but somehow we managed to avoid any signs of winter and experienced the perfect wedding weather! The clear reception tent was overflowing with greenery and bright berry-hued florals from Stems Floral Design and the added strings of lights gave the evening a starry atmosphere, well into the evening. Cody and Nicole, the bride and groom, were precious together and really soaked in what turned out to be a wonderful day. One of my favorite elements was the bride’s dreamy Naeem Khan dress, the vibrant floral decor, and the one-of-a-kind cake topper that said “To the Stars and Back” because the groom made a point to remind his bride often that the stars were further away than the moon. The entire event was fresh and romantic from beginning to end!

Cozy, Luxe Inspiration For Your Winter Wedding

Winter weddings are often overlooked as a season to get married but if you ask me…they are one of the best-kept secrets! Winter weddings are less expensive and have unlimited potential for beautiful dresses, swoon-worthy photos, and memorable rustic decor. Not convinced? Check out these winter wedding ideas and thank me later.

Brittrene Photo

Hot Chocolate Bar
A cute way to get people feeling cheery in the winter weather is to have a cute bar with Hot Chocolate featuring gourmet marshmallows, an assortment of flavors (like mint, raspberry, cinnamon, and more), toppings, cute straws, and more. Bring it out during cocktail for a fun way to kick off the reception, or save it as a surprise for later in the reception when people want to take a cozy dance break.

Shades of Grey
While grey is a beautiful color in any kind of wedding, it looks especially amazing on the groomsmen in the winter. Put the groomsmen in a dark grey wool suit and pair with navy bowties. This will be a unique look that will keep your groom and his entourage looking unique and staying warm. It takes that popular grey look to the next level and looks good on everyone.

Faux Fur Wrap
Is there anything more glam than wearing a fur shrug over your wedding dress!? Add a jewel toed heel or some bold sparkly earrings to complete the look. It will make for gorgeous photos and will keep you fashionably warm when you’re traveling from ceremony to reception.

Gold Framed Chalkboard Signs
Chalkboard signs with gold accents are a simple elegant touch that flows well with the rustic theme. Use the winter time wisely by having a sign at the reception that says, “Baby it’s cold outside”. If you prefer more functional forms of décor, use the sign as a table place setting to guide everyone to their seats. Add a touch of hand-lettered calligraphy and call it a day!

Michael and Carina Photography

Rustic Décor
Winter is a beautiful time to embrace rustic décor. Utilize wood pieces with green accents, and candlelight. Forego the typical round table, for a beautiful wood rectangle table with a simple table runner sprinkled with white candles in varying shapes and sizes. Use the outside darkness and the dim candlelight to your advantage as you create a romantic setting.

Classic Winter Feast
Winter time is a season when people expect and look forward to amazing home-cooked meals. Go for the classic dishes of comfort food like rosemary chicken, beef burgundy, and roasted vegetables. Instead of a buffet, have food served family style so that each table is participating in their own little feast together. It will bring a new level of intimacy among family and friends while giving everyone a memorable meal.

Sposto Photography

Sparkle
I feel like all I need to say here is “sparkle” and then do a mic drop but I’ll elaborate… winter weddings are perfect for beaded and sparkly dresses because they don’t look overdone. Beading and sparkle can look harsh in spring and summer weddings, but they pair perfectly in the winter. Put your girls in sparkly gold or navy dresses while you wear a beaded dress that has a touch of sparkle. If full beaded or sparkly dresses is too much for your style, embrace the sparkles with subtle gold heels. I promise your bridesmaids will wear the dress after the wedding simply because they want to.

Snow
I know that many of us spend the winter season complaining about the cold dreaded snow, but no one can deny that when the snow is sparkling and the tree branches are weighing with white glistening snow – it’s simply lovely. This will make for gorgeous scenery for your wedding photos. And if you’re concerned about looking pale, get a spray tan and enjoy your tropical honeymoon when the wedding is over.

Les Anagnou photographers

Naked Cake
This naked cake covered in powdered sugar and accessorized with beautifully decadent berries should be all the convincing you need to have a winter wedding. But in all seriousness, it’s gorgeous and is a beautiful form of its own “décor”. A grand cake will tie the bold pieces of your winter wedding together and be a showstopper as you delight your guests.

Winter weddings are a completely underrated wedding season but can be gorgeous and memorable by you and your guests!

This Romantic Ceremony Decor Was Hand-Built by the Groom

Romantic florals and organic greenery played a huge part in the design of this Iowa farm wedding. From green crowns worn by the bridesmaids to large, organic bouquets and a hanging installation over the reception tables, Shelly Sarver infused every inch with floral magic. Also at the top of the romance list? The fact that the ceremony cross that this couple said I Do in front of was hand-built by the groom.  See the full day captured beautifully by Mustard Seed Photography right here.

From the bride, Terrell… One of the most special elements of the wedding was the cross that we had our ceremony in front of. My now-husband built and designed the cross himself. It added such a special touch and will forever be a little piece of our wedding that we will always have. Our goal was for our wedding to showcase both beauty and love. Our hearts were exploding not only with our own love, but with the love from our family and friends enjoying our day with us. It was so touching to see our parents’ raw emotions during the ceremony – we knew that we had made them proud, but they will never truly know how thankful and proud we are to call them our parents.

In regards to design, I knew I wanted to have lighting be a key element! I went back and forth on trying to figure out how to hang chandeliers or other types of lighting but ultimately realized that it was just difficult to do that with the different venues that we looked at. Thankfully Taylor from White Willow Events came to me about building a lighting structure over the head table. I was hesitant at first as our head table was 24 feet long down the center of the room. I have to say it was everything I could have imagined and more! I know it can be hard to add chandeliers and hang stuff from the ceilings so I think this was a great idea for brides who want to add a showcase piece!

Another key element that mattered to us in the design was florals! I think they are such a huge part of bringing the overall vision of a wedding together. I wanted very large organic bouquets, so I focused on that as one of the key elements of bringing the design together. Every meeting I had with Shelly, our florist, she was able to capture my vision even when I was unsure about some of the elements. It was a huge relief knowing that I had her and could put my trust in her to design the flowers and just kind of let her do her thing!

My dress was from Hayley Paige – I have always loved her gowns so actually wearing one on my own wedding day was a dream come true! Paired with the nude bridesmaid gown’s and organic florals, it all came together so perfectly! My husband loved the dress and was so surprised during our first look! That was one of our favorite moments from the day – in addition to seeing one another, we also read personal vows to each other in a more secluded setting. We are both such shy people, it gave us a quiet moment just to ourselves and helped us remember the true purpose of the day!

An Elegant, Organic Wedding at the Biltmore Estate

Whenever I see a wedding at the Biltmore Estate, my desire to visit this stunning site increases exponentially, but this wedding film right here? Well, it seals the deal. Not only does it show the venue at it’s absolute finest, but these two lovebirds warm my heart. With both in school, their schedules are packed to say the least, but they stopped to pause and say “I do” and Light Cannon Films was there to capture it all. And we’re glad they did because this is the type of film we all need to see; it’s just that good. Enjoy!

[iframe http://player.vimeo.com/video/218052752 600 338]

From Light Cannon Films… Caleb and Kelly could not have designed a more ideal day or venue to get married. Mountainous Asheville, NC was “ablaze with new life” as Kelly’s dad put it – everything was in bloom and the natural beauty of the Appalachians were a breathtaking backdrop to their wedding on the Biltmore Estate. While the main areas of the Estate were teeming with tourists and congratulatory onlookers as we tried to escape the crowds for a few photos, the reception was held at the Lioncrest, once the Vanderbilt’s barn but now a secluded and elegant venue.

The decor could not have been more youthful or natural, perfect for Caleb and Kelly. Kelly is in PA school and Caleb is in medical school, and they had to squeeze the wedding between tests and rotations, but it’s obvious to see that these two are the type not to slow down for anything. They are a team, they are best friends, and they are determined to make each other their top priority amidst all the chaos. They just make it work. And not just that; we happen to know from personal experience (since they are close family friends) that they have a ton of fun making it work. Our wishes for them are many more decades of fun and laughter and dancing, but also some well deserved rest. :)

A California Orchard Wedding That Will Give You Butterflies!

It doesn’t matter that I see hundreds of weddings a week, I will never stop getting butterflies in my tummy when peeking at a beautiful and thought-filled celebration like this California wedding in the Vine Hill House vineyard and orchard, captured by Kayla Yestal. The gorgeous Bride, a floral designer herself, was completely in her element and put together one of the most lovely, detail-filled days you can imagine with help from her talented friends like Lily + Mint Floral Co. and La Lavande. I could go on and on, gushing about this wedding, but the pictures speak for themselves, so scroll on!

From Kayla YestalIt is always such a joy to photograph weddings for another wedding vendor, and Andrea and Josh’s intimate orchard wedding was definitely no exception! As a florist with a background in wedding planning, Andrea was able to put so much thought and intention into every small detail, creating handmade elements that are not only beautiful, but also have so much meaning to them as a couple. The result was easily one of the most romantic and emotional wedding days that I have ever been a part of, and to this day I can’t help but get swept away thinking of all of the magic that occurred.

From the Bride… Looking back on our wedding day, it is hard not to get caught up thinking about all of the wonderful memories made. I think the height of emotion and excitement was walking into the ceremony. I usually don’t cry easily, but I immediately started tearing up as I walked down the aisle with my parents and saw all of my family and friends and my soon-to-be husband. Our ceremony itself was very meaningful. We chose to have a Jewish ceremony since I was raised Jewish, and I love the feeling of being a part of something that connects us to our ancestors and family so deeply. I loved that our Jewish ceremony included time for Josh and I to be alone together for a few moments both before and afterwards. Seeing him before the ceremony made us both feel more relaxed and comfortable and allowed us to enjoy the ceremony that much more.

We were lucky to incorporate some meaningful heirlooms into the ceremony. Josh’s wedding band was his grandfather’s, and I was wearing my grandmother’s ring on my right hand. The fabric covering the chuppah was sewn by my mom and had lace from my grandmother’s wedding dress on it. The napkin that held the glass that we broke was from my parents’ wedding. My mom is an artist and decorated our ketubah (Jewish wedding contract), and it’s now an art piece in our home and a reminder of our vows. The tallit wrap was my grandfather’s – who passed away before I was born.

The style I wanted for our wedding was romantic yet not too stuffy, something that felt like a little bit of Tuscany and a little bit of California mixed together. One of the main things I knew I wanted was long communal tables with us sitting with our friends and family. I was very drawn to the apple orchards on the property, so the apples and garden roses (my favorite!) became central to the design. One of my favorite parts of the evening was sitting down to dinner at those long tables and enjoying the delicious family style meal. We got to sit with our friends and family while looking out over a gorgeous setting, sun spilling light over the vineyards and apple orchards. The flowers, the glittering candlelight, and our favorite music wafting overhead made for a perfect moment in time.

As a florist, I knew I wanted beautiful flowers and lots of fun, handmade details. It was really special to have my flower friends design my flowers. I knew that they would do an incredible job, having worked for Momo at La Lavande in the past. I knew I could trust her design eye to create something even more beautiful than I could dream up myself, and I was not wrong! They were totally gorgeous, and I especially loved all of the beautiful vines and garden roses in my bridal bouquet. Not only were the flowers designed by friends, but my friend Ruth is also a talented ceramics artist, and she made beautiful ceramic compotes to hold the flowers.

Creating many of the decor elements of our wedding ourselves was something that was incredibly important to us! Josh and I made the salt and pepper cellars that lined our tables in our pottery class. We took a pottery class at the beginning of our relationship (we went to a class the night he asked me to be his girlfriend), so I thought it was fitting to make a few pieces for the wedding! I learned some basic calligraphy and hand lettered the invites and found vintage prints of apples and clematis vines at the antique fair to line the envelopes with! I love vintage stamps and was able to find some fun ones that represented us well. In particular I loved the Bobby Jones stamp I found (a golfer, because Josh loves to golf) and one with a phonograph (Josh is really into audio equipment). For the favors, I made natural soy wax candles scented with essential oils and printed up my own tags for them. It was really fun coming up with unique scent combinations that would remind us of our wedding day whenever we burned them. My mom also handmade all of the napkins out of a beautiful natural linen fabric that I found. Plus, now we get to have them as keepsakes, too!

One thing that was special for us was getting to choose lots of the music for cocktail hour and dinner. We both appreciate music but weren’t too picky about the music played during dancing, so we chose some favorites for the cocktail hour and dinner. It just felt so personal and special when I heard some of the songs we had chosen as we sat eating dinner. It really made for some great moments and memories, and I’m so glad we took the time to do that.

I have experience being on the vendor side, and so it was very different to be a Bride. It was a lot of fun but also a lot of work, with so many decisions to make! I think there are a few important things that it was helpful to remember when planning. One is to stay true to your vision and what you feel represents you as a couple. It’s important to make sure the day feels personal to you. Another is to put your energy into the things that mean the most to you and to let go of the other stuff. Once we got a couple months out from the wedding, we realized that there were certain details that we could let go of rather than putting more stress on ourselves. It’s necessary to prioritize what’s most important to you at a certain point! And most importantly, on the wedding day, try to relax and enjoy! There will be bumps in the road and things that aren’t perfect, but once you’ve worked so hard to make the day happen, it makes a world of difference to make the best of the hiccups and enjoy the day with your loved ones.

One small detail that I may have done differently is to have had extra help to set up our decor items. The venue included day-of coordination services but did not include decor setup. In retrospect, it would have been great to have an extra hand who knew exactly where everything went, since oftentimes I was busy and couldn’t direct friends and family as to where everything should go. For example, the candles were melting in the sun because we put them out so early! Luckily there were plenty of hands on deck to move them out of the sun and then back into place, but it may have relieved a little stress to have a hired hand available to take care of this. It’s always better to have too much help rather than too little.

I think that trying your best to stay relaxed and open minded throughout the process is key to enjoying your own wedding. It’s so easy to get caught up in tiny details that only you will notice (this coming from someone who is way into the details!). I had a lot of fun thinking about things like handmade linen napkins and salt dishes, but I also knew that my guests would have enjoyed the day just as much without them. I was doing it more for me than for anyone else. I never felt like I was doing something because I had to, or because it was expected, which I know can be tricky when planning a wedding! Once the wedding festivities began, it was smooth sailing, and we had so much fun!

5 Morning Rituals To Set Yourself Up for Success

Think you have to be a morning person to be successful? Think again. Sure, “early bird gets the worm”, but how effectively you spend your a.m. time matters. That means putting some good habits in place—and before you know it, you’ll be that morning person who looks forward to hopping out of bed each day. Keep reading for five morning rituals that will help set you up for success!

Set Daily Expectations

First things first, game plan! Your favorite football team doesn’t just run out on the field and wing it. They’ve got a strategy in place and plays that help set them up for success. Set aside 10-15 minutes of your morning to write down your daily goals. Setting these expectations for yourself allows you to mentally prepare for the day. Not a to do list kind of person? Saying these goals out loud even helps!

Tackle the Most Challenging Task First

The best recipe for success is to throw procrastination out the door and get proactive my friends. Tackling the most challenging task of your day first is always a good idea. Have you ever had one of those days where you felt like you were SO busy but didn’t accomplish anything? The weight of a big task can make those smaller, easier ones feel super daunting, too.

Get a Move On

You know that phrase “a body in motion stays in motion”? It can absolutely be a challenge to get up and exercise every day, but especially when you’re feeling sluggish, a quick workout can zap those morning blues. Not in the mood for a workout? Try a dance party to a short playlist instead!

Morning Mantra

Just as it’s a good idea to set expectations for ourselves each day, it’s also important to understand and appreciate why we are fulfilling those expectations. Creating a mantra that supports your passion fuels daily motivation and can help avoid burn out.

Tidy Up

A clear space means a clear mind. Whether you work from home, in an office setting, in a studio, kitchen, shop, etc., dedicating time to tidy up the spaces we live and work in boosts energy, motivation and drive. Make this a part of your morning routine and I guarantee you’ll feel a whole lot more inspired and ambitious.

A Glam NYC Wedding for the Modern Bride

A black tie wedding with the Statue of Liberty in the background? It’s hard to think of anything better! And that’s exactly what we have for you today, pretties. Love Me Do Photography and Shutter and Sound Films captured Sharleen and Andy’s modern, glam wedding complete with geometric accents and moody florals arranged by Designs by Ahn, planned by the ever-talented Erganic Design.

[iframe http://player.vimeo.com/video/233685591 600 338]

From Carina of Love Me Do PhotographyPhotographing Sharleen and Andy’s wedding was a dream come true for any photographer. Weather-wise, it was a perfect September day, and Sharleen and Andy looked phenomenal. Sharleen thought of everything when it came to her Bridesmaids and guests, making sure everyone had what they needed to be comfortable and have fun throughout the day. I loved that they opted to walk from the hotel to the venue for photos, because we got some of the best photos on our five minute walk down the street. Everyone was in such good spirits and was truly excited for the couple. Lots of tears were shed and smiles were all around. Being there and photographing their evening, you really got a sense of how great Sharleen and Andy are, and how much their friends and family genuinely love them. Because I know how much Sharleen and Andy value photography, I feel so honored to have been picked to photograph their wedding.

From the Bride… Andy and I often joke that we’re like the same person. Our relationship is effortless, and we’re so eerily on the same wavelength that to be with each other is almost to be with ourselves. We both know how hard that is to find, so the very likely prospect of never having met is scary to imagine. We didn’t swipe right, work together, or have a single mutual friend — I happened to sit in an empty seat next to him at a fundraiser, and he struck up a conversation. Had any single circumstance been different, we’d never have met. So, despite the fact that we’re both skeptics with very different backgrounds — he’s a born-and-bred New Yorker, I’m from Ottawa, Canada — our story has turned us into reluctant believers of sorts.

A major style inspiration for our big day was the fact that I’ve always known I wanted a black tie wedding. I wanted guests to have an excuse to dust off their tuxes and gowns and really bring it! With the help of my planner, Sojourner of Erganic Design (who was a total godsend and came recommended by Be Inspired PR), this led to a “modern glam” aesthetic with a geometric triangle theme and a color palette of black, ivory, and mixed metallics of gold, copper, and rose gold. I’ve always been drawn to darker, moodier elements, so we incorporated that into style accents — black stationery with gold foil, some dark flowers, and black candles.

This preference also led to the selection of our photographer, Carina of Love Me Do Photography. So many portfolios looked the same to me, with the same whitewash, color palettes, filters, and poses. At first sight, Love Me Do Photography’s work jumped out at me. It was just as beautiful and dramatic as any, but with raw emotion, grit, and split-second moments I felt were missing in others’. Going with them was one of the easiest (and best!) decisions we made.

When venue-hunting, our two requirements were a great “New York” feel and a space that had character. We saw many venues that had one without the other. At the suggestion of a friend, we checked out Battery Gardens and instantly fell in love with their location, their floor-to-ceiling windows, and the epic view. Since our ceremony would be onsite, we loved how there were distinct, separate areas for the ceremony, cocktail hour, and reception (this was harder to find than we expected). Exchanging vows while the sun sets, with the Statue of Liberty in the background? Yes, please.

Despite some ominous weather forecasts, we got super lucky with the weather, and it was a dreamy September day – warm and sunny with a few clouds and a great breeze for photos. The whole affair went off nearly without a hitch, save for the linen rentals not showing up, my bustle loops breaking, and a guest arriving with an unexpected plus-one! If anything, these hiccups just made for good stories.

People warn you that the day whips by in a blur, and they aren’t kidding, but time did almost seem to stop at certain moments: watching Andy’s eyes twinkle as he read me his vows, listening to my sisters sing a song we used to sing as kids during their speech, hearing my dad laugh as we danced. Andy and I are both pragmatic to a fault in many ways, so justifying a big wedding wasn’t always easy, but it was truly a special, spectacular day, and we couldn’t be happier with it.
