A “La Vie en Rose’ Wedding Overlooking the Ocean at Scripps Seaside Forum

[section title=”The Planning”]
[field title=”Wedding Colors”]Bri and Joel’s wedding was a beautiful blend of rose tones and ocean blues. The rose colors added warmth and a garden feel, while the hues of blue perfectly captured the essence of the seaside, complementing the ocean backdrop of their wedding venue.
[/field]
[field title=”Design / Vibe / Vision”]Bri and Joel envisioned their wedding day to be filled with heartfelt interactions, so they decided to forgo a formal seating arrangement. Instead, they set up outdoor tables on the lawn of Scripps Seaside Forum, providing panoramic views of the ocean allowing guests to enjoy the beach ambiance and watch the sunset over the ocean.

From the wedding planner, Molly: We really played off of the couples last name, “The Rosenbergs” to create a “La Vie en rose” vibe. Our bride really wanted to lean into the rose tones, garden vibes but keeping it clean and modern near the ocean.
[/field]
[field title=”Proposal Story”]From our bride, Bri: We had planned a going away party prior to moving to San Diego. The morning of the party, another couple asked us to get brunch with them. We all arrived a little early and went on a scenic walk through the city. As we were getting close to the restaurant, Joel asked Bri to get one last picture together in front of the Stone Arch Bridge and Minneapolis skyline. During the photo set up, he got down on one knee and asked her to grow old with him. Our families popped out of their hiding spots and we were able to celebrate the moment all together. And with one more surprise in his pocket, the going away party was a guise for an engagement party with many out of town guests flying in to celebrate us. [/field]

[field title=”Food & Drink”]The couple opted for a mix-and-mingle atmosphere as they preferred a more casual and interactive vibe rather than a traditional sit-down setting. This decision allowed their guests to freely roam, fostering a relaxed beach ambiance throughout the wedding day.

Their bar menu featured signature drinks: hers, a refreshing rose water margarita, and his, a classic whiskey smash. For dinner, guests enjoyed three stations showcasing Southern California favorites, including various taco options and fresh and flavorful poke.
[/field]
[field title=”Florals & Decor”]From the wedding planner, Molly: We had originally started with a lighter color palette and then switched to include more rose tones and so happy that we did! The richness of the florals made all the difference. The colors were so beautiful against the ocean back drop. Our bride was also not afraid of patterns which was so fun to play with in the linens. [/field]
[field title=”Wedding Cake”]Bri and Joel opted for a minimalist approach with a simple, one-tiered white wedding cake. They offered various dessert options for their guests, including an array of cake pops and donut selections for everyone to enjoy.[/field]
[field title=”Readings, Ceremony Music, Reception Songs”]From our bride, Bri: When guests RSVP’d, we asked them to include their first dance song. We curated a playlist of these songs and played them throughout dinner. So many of our guests have relationships we admire and try to emulate. We wanted to honor them as they have shaped our own love story. It was so special to watch these couples recognize their song and enjoy it with their partner.[/field]
[field title=”Special Detail #1″]Bri and Joel kicked off the dancing festivities with a nostalgic nod, having a vibrant 90’s cover band. The music perfectly captured their fun-loving spirit and guests had so much fun dancing![/field]
[field title=”Special Detail #2″]Bri and Joel added a personal touch to their wedding by giving each guest a heartfelt handwritten note, a sweet gesture that made each guest feel appreciated, adding an extra layer of warmth and sincerity to their special day.[/field]
[field title=”Special Detail #3″]From the wedding planner, Molly: We loved the brides outfit change and rose colored glasses and shoes, again playing into the overall “La vie en rose” vibe of the wedding.[/field]

[field title=”Proposal Story”]Once upon a time, in Ridgefield, CT, two young hearts crossed paths in the most unexpected way. It was the year 2002, and Victoria was the new girl in school. She and Mike were in fourth grade at the tender age of nine.

Victoria was Mike’s first love. From middle school onward, they were inseparable. Unfortunately, life had other plans in store for them. In 2007, when Victoria was halfway through high school, her dad got a new job, which led her family to Oregon. Both Victoria and Mike were heartbroken, but they were determined to keep their love alive.

Despite the distance, Victoria and Mike made every effort to see each other. They planned visits between Oregon, Connecticut, and the bride’s family cottage in Muskoka, where they carved their initials in the wall – a symbol of their eternal love that still remains to this day! However, as college approached, they faced the harsh reality of growing apart and went their separate ways. As time went on, Mike never gave up on the hope of rekindling his love with Victoria. She was always in the back of his mind, and they remained friends, often crossing paths during Christmas in Vail.

In 2020, the stars aligned. Despite the challenges posed by the global pandemic, Victoria and Mike found themselves reunited once again – and this time, neither of them was in a relationship. While Victoria was living in Colorado, and Mike was in New York City, they committed to seeing each other as much as possible, and loved getting to know each other’s friends along the way.

As Victoria and Mike’s love blossomed, a decision needed to be made. Victoria took a leap of faith, packed her life up, and moved to New York City to be with Mike. They closed on an apartment in early 2021, ready to embark on the next chapter of their love story.

Mike surprised Victoria with the ultimate declaration of his love while on a bike ride in Vail. Despite Victoria’s initial reluctance to go on the bike ride, she was overwhelmed with joy as Mike got down on one knee and presented her with a ring. Mike had also carved their initials, “MG + VA” on a rock, as a reminder of their early days and precious memories made in Muskoka. The rest of the weekend was full of surprises and we loved having the opportunity to celebrate with close friends and family![/field]

Bucolic Bliss: A Springtime Wedding Brimming with Rustic Elegance

[field title=”Design / Vibe / Vision”]

Lucy and Douglas found their slice of Tuscany nestled in the rolling hills of Los Gatos at Regale Winery, the perfect setting for their vision of a rustic and intimate wedding. With a desire for a laid-back, country garden atmosphere, their wedding planner transformed the venue into a ranch-style retreat that echoed the simplicity and charm of a bucolic life. Central to the celebration’s aesthetic were natural elements like rattan and stones, which mingled seamlessly with delicate small floral prints, enhancing the venue’s rustic appeal. The planners artfully turned the winery into a serene, country-style garden, creating an inviting space that felt both elegant and relaxed.

At Lucy and Douglas’s spring wedding, the menu crafted by Le Papillon was nothing short of spectacular. The celebration kicked off with an array of elegant hors d’oeuvres, featuring luxurious bites of lobster, duck, and king salmon that tantalized the taste buds. The first course was a delightful butternut squash soup sprinkled with crunchy pumpkin seed granola, perfectly capturing the essence of spring. The culinary highlight was the duet entrée: succulent roasted sea bass alongside a tender grilled medallion of filet mignon. Each dish was not only a feast for the palate but also a beautiful complement to the rustic, elegant theme of the day.

[/field]
[field title=”Florals & Decor”]The floral arrangements at Lucy and Douglas’s wedding perfectly captured the essence of a rustic garden style. Smaller blooms in harmonious shades of purple and blue adorned everything from the ceremony arch to the bridal bouquet and the centerpieces on the dinner tables. The decor was further enhanced by white tablecloths featuring delicate blue floral patterns, complemented by lilac taper candles. This combination created a relaxed and fresh atmosphere.[/field]
[field title=”Wedding Cake”]

Lucy and Douglas’s wedding cake, crafted by Trizia Cake Artistry, was a stunning three-tiered design with a unique twist—the second tier was slightly shorter, creating a subtle, elegant effect. The cake featured sophisticated marbling and texture, adorned with large fondant waffle paper flower petals and delicate thin branches. Inside, the flavors were just as exquisite, with an Earl Grey tea filling and a refreshing hint of orange zest.

In a unique and elegant touch by the planner from Frigga Events, white stone slices served as place cards for the reception. Each guest’s name was beautifully calligraphed onto these stones, adding a natural and sophisticated element to the table settings. This creative use of materials not only enhanced the rustic theme of the wedding but also gave guests a memorable keepsake from Lucy and Douglas’s special day.

Vintage Elegance in the Garden: An Intimate Celebration at Dunn Gardens

[section title=”The Planning”]
[field title=”Wedding Colors”]

Earthy tone colors such as clay, sand, taupe, and caramel, plus blush, cream and deep salmon, and dusty pink.

[/field]
[field title=”Design / Vibe / Vision”]

Maggie and Bolun chose the enchanting Dunn Gardens for their special day, a location they described as a hidden gem within the city. They dreamed of an intimate garden wedding that felt both personal and secluded. To bring their vision to life, the planner from Frigga Events crafted a vintage garden wedding theme, utilizing a palette of earth tones. These colors—clay, sand, taupe, caramel—were chosen to enhance the garden’s natural beauty while creating a warm and soft atmosphere. The couple even gave the color palette a nickname – cappuccino.

[/field]
[field title=”Proposal Story”]Bolun orchestrated a beautifully intimate and unexpected proposal that took Maggie completely by surprise. He transformed the trunk of his car into a romantic setting adorned with flowers, string lights, and balloons. The special moment unfolded in a quiet garage, where Bolun asked Maggie to retrieve something from the car. As she opened the trunk, balloons gently floated out, revealing the most important question: “Will you marry me?” This private, heartfelt proposal not only captured the essence of their love but also mirrored the intimate, personal celebration they envisioned for their wedding.[/field]

Maggie chose an exquisite Monique Lhuillier strapless ball gown for her wedding day, featuring a romantic heart-shaped neckline. [field title=”Bridesmaid Dresses”]

The bridesmaids complemented the wedding’s aesthetic beautifully, each wearing a dress from Azazie in a cohesive dusty pink shade, yet each style was distinct. This approach allowed each bridesmaid to choose a dress that suited her personal style and comfort, while maintaining a unified look for the wedding party. The transition from the ceremony to the reception was seamlessly enhanced by the couple’s choice of a refreshing signature cocktail aptly named “Key to My Heart.” This delightful beverage set the tone for a fun and lively party atmosphere. For the main course, guests were treated to a culinary delight with options of braised boneless short ribs and pan-roasted wild salmon, expertly prepared by Ravishing Radish Catering.

[/field]
[field title=”Florals & Decor”]

The floral arrangements and decor for Maggie and Bolun’s wedding were meticulously designed to capture the essence of their vintage garden theme. The florists from Callarose and Co chose a stunning palette of lilac, brown, and cream for the roses, which adorned the centerpieces and the majestic wooden arch at the ceremony. To enhance the rustic garden vibe, branches were also incorporated into the arrangements, blending natural elements with the floral designs. The wedding planner from Frigga Events complemented these floral choices with carefully selected linens, vintage furniture, and chinaware that harmonized with the overall aesthetic. A standout feature was the creation of a soft lounge area, which featured vintage sofas and furniture, providing a cozy and inviting space for guests to relax and enjoy the surroundings. This thoughtful combination of florals and decor not only reflected the themed colors but also added layers of texture and charm to the wedding’s atmosphere.

[/field]
[field title=”Wedding Cake”]

The wedding cake, beautifully crafted by Honey Crumb Cake Studio, was a true highlight of the celebration. This elegant two-tiered, all-white cake featured a couple of unique and artistic touches. Notably, the top tier was extra tall, making a bold visual statement. The cake was adorned with fondant flowers so meticulously crafted they looked almost real, adding a layer of fun and creativity. Additionally, the cake was finished with a lightly textured buttercream, which gave it a delicate appearance.

[field title=”Special Detail #1″]A delightful and artistic touch to the wedding’s dining experience was the use of mismatched dinner and bread plates, courtesy of Vintage Dish Company. These plates, each bearing distinct patterns dating from the 1920s through the 1960s, added a charming and eclectic element to the table settings. This choice celebrated a love for artistry and timeless elegance, beautifully reflecting the wedding’s vintage theme. [/field]

The Greatest Wedding Exit Songs of All Time

Your wedding send-off should feel—there’s no other word for it—epic. As in, uncorking champagne bottles and setting-off-fireworks level of celebration. If there’s one way to make a fashionable exit, it’s with music, and we have just the wedding exit mixtape you’ve been looking for. Whether you need a song for a lighthearted recessional or a reception finale, it’s all here. So, slip into that sexy getaway dress and pass out the sparklers. You may have to book the limo, but we’ve got your playlist covered.

Photography: Sally Pinera

1.  Precious Love – James Morrison

Soulful and triumphant, this song will send you out on a high. Some songs fill you with pure, uncomplicated happiness—this is one of those, elevated by James Morrison’s gorgeous voice and honest lyrics.

2. Love on the Weekend – John Mayer

A sexy little song that makes you want to drop everything, pack a bag, and take a trip with your love. We’re getting serious honeymoon vibes with “you be the deejay, I’ll be the driver, / you put your feet up in the getaway car.” You’ll have visions of driving along the coast, listening to music, and luxuriating in how totally in love you are with John Mayer.

Photography: Ether & Smith

3. We Belong Together – Vampire Weekend feat. Danielle Haim

A duet so full of sparkle and wordplay it’s feels like it was written expressly for the wedding of the hip(ster) couple.

Photography: Rebecca Yale

4. Fool For Love – Lord Huron

A folk-indie gem of a song about wanting to elope and leave town. The song opens with the sound of bells and organ music, which feel reminiscent of waking up on your wedding morning. As the song builds, you’ll feel just as much like running away with the one you love.

Photography: Jordan Galindo

5. Real Love Baby – Father John Misty

You’ll want to dance your way to the getaway car— maybe as (delightfully and) badly as Father John Misty dances.

6. Cosmic Love – Florence + the Machine

In recent concerts, Florence Welch runs barefoot across a stage full of meadow flowers, dressed in something ethereal, usually an ivory silk dress. The singer, the gown, and the flowers look like something out of a Pre-Raphaelite painting—or an SMP-approved styled shoot. Imagine recreating your own Florence moment as you walk down staircase adorned with flowers, to a Florence + the Machine anthem glimmering with harp music.

Photography: Sylvie Gil Photography

7. Dancing in the Moonlight – Toploader

A sweet little cover that will remind you of a scene straight out of—you guessed it—A Walk to Remember. Awww.

8. Stole the Show – Kygo feat. Parson James

For the dance music-loving couple, this song is the ultimate show closer. It’s the absolute perfect song to be showered with rose petals by with lyrics like “hold for the applause, oh / And wave out to the crowd, and take our final bow / It’s our time to go, but at least we stole the show.” (by the way, this *might be*—in fact it is—a breakup song. But song meanings were meant to be revised and reclaimed, right?)

Photography: Fontaine Photo

9. Love Me Like the World Is Ending – Ben Lee

“This is the first day of the future,” declares Ben Lee, “and all I want is you.” Could there be a more wedding-ready sentiment? For all its carefree vibes, the song contains a gorgeous message—to hold fast to the ones you love, mindful of this fleeting life.

Photography: Cathy Durig

10. Hold On, We’re Going Home – Drake

The wedding is over, and your new life is beginning—say it with swagger.

11. Beautiful Day – U2

Every U2 song is epic, and this one is no exception. Made for life’s most cinematic moments—like a kiss on the steps of the church.

Photography: Imaj Gallery

12. Duet – Rachael Yamagata feat. Ray LaMontagne

Duet- Rachael Yamagata ft. Ray Lamontagne Most brides and grooms opt for a big, joyful song for the send-off, and we can’t blame them—this is a dazzling moment. But if overly happy songs aren’t your thing, then set a gorgeous, reverential mood with your music. This song could, with its quiet beauty, cause a hush to fall over the entire crowd. We picture it working well for a candlelight send-off or a lantern release; picture the night sky, the stars, the flicker of candlelight, and this song bringing everything together in a charged way.

Photography: Jen Huang

13. Come Away With Me – Norah Jones

If you’re eloping, consider playing a song for just the two of you. Nothing will ever match the simplicity and beauty of “Come Away With Me.” It’s a song made for the couple who cherishes privacy, so stark and intimate you feel you’re reading a love letter. “I want to walk with you / On a cloudy day / in fields where the yellow grass grows knee- high”— beautiful words to close a private ceremony in the lavender fields or to seal a “kiss / On a mountaintop.”

14. Closing Time – Semisonic

A song that encourages so much 90’s nostalgia (and deliciously bad karaoke). You’ll create one of those moments you’ll always remember—with all of your friends singing off-key and sending you so much love. And anyway, you know who you want to take you home. *da dun dun*

Photography: Craig and Eva Sanders Photography

15. Always Remember Us This Way – Lady Gaga

We like to think that this was Gaga’s most gorgeous A Star is Born Moment—seated at the piano, wearing no makeup, and dressed like a folk queen, à la Emmylou Harris. But enough about that. You will always remember the two of you this way— newly married, in the flush of your love. You’ll always remember running away from the venue, kicking off your Jimmy Choos, and sharing a piece of cake in the back seat of the limo. Just the two of you, driving home, together at last.

[field title=”Food & Drink”]The food was provided by Sunlake, and leaned into a sophisticated take of Italian Classics. For the aperitivo they had a mix of canapes and stations featuring local salumi and cheeses, oysters, and other local cuisines. The dinner had the options of filet of beef with a foie gras, Mediterranean Branzino with vine ripe, blistered tomatoes, and a flan of zucchini. They had a massive sweets display with all times of cakes, cannolis, tiramisu, etc. The late night food was a custom ape pizza oven. [/field]
[field title=”Florals & Decor”]For the wedding day they wanted a very classic, romantic vibe with white, greens and golds. They liked the idea of the babies breath clouds mixed with vintage gold chandeliers to give it a very Italian feel. Vincenzo Dascanio brought their vision to life from their simple, yet impactful ceremony design to their breathtaking reception in the glass house from Privitera.

The welcome party was designed by Lilla Florals, and they wanted a stark contrast to the wedding design with different shade of red. It was bit more modern with the monochromatic color tones, and they wanted long community tables for the guests to get to know each other at their first event. [/field]
[field title=”Wedding Cake”]The wedding cake was an impressive design by Ramperti that had layered sugar work. The cake was the centerpiece to the fireworks display and champagne spray to kick off the party.[/field]

[field title=”Special Detail #2″]As a favor for the guests they used their favorite cologne and perfume by Tom Ford, so that when guests used it for the time to come to the scent would be a reminder of Lake Como and their wedding celebration[/field]
[field title=”Special Detail #3″]They had two displays of fireworks for the celebration. The day time, color fireworks were for when they exchanged their first kiss at the ceremony and the night time display for their cake cutting. [/field]

[field title=”Design / Vibe / Vision”]

The atmosphere was inspired by the vibrant ‘spring in Nola’ Maximalist vibe. I aimed for it to be lively and exciting, much like the spirited ambiance of Brennan’s Restaurant as a venue!

[/field]
[field title=”Proposal Story”]

We were en route to our favorite hotel in Stowe, Vermont (Edson Hill) for a chilly ski weekend when we made a stop at Daniel’s aunt and uncle’s house in Schenectady, NY to visit his grandma, aunt, and uncle. Daniel’s aunt mentioned that her favorite nail salon was just a few minutes away, so naturally, I jumped at the opportunity to get my nails done. That evening, after enjoying a fabulous dinner at Edson Hill, in 8-degree weather, Daniel proposed with a two-stone ring I had designed with Lindsey Leigh.

I purchased my dress at Spina Bride in Manhattan during a Lihi Hod “feature” at the store. I knew I wanted a classic dress, and I had always loved a square neck, but I was also drawn to the off-the-shoulder tulle look. Lihi made a custom tulle off-the-shoulder topper for me, which I wore for the ceremony along with a large clip-on bow. For the second line, I removed the topper and the bow. My veil was my “something borrowed” from Daniel’s first cousins, Christine and Danielle, who both wore the same veil. I designed my second dress with Mika Inatome in Manhattan, which was such a fun experience! Mika custom-made the rosettes, and it fit like a glove!

[/field]
[field title=”Bridesmaid Dresses”]
I chose a “shades of baby blue” theme for the bridesmaids’ dresses, which was easily found and loved by my friends. Our bridal bouquets featured pink, coral, and orange hues, providing a nice contrast to the blue.[/field]

Working with Brennan’s Restaurant was an absolute dream. No guest left unsatisfied or thirsty! Our menu featured classic New Orleans barbecue shrimp and filet as the main course, followed by bananas foster for dessert. During happy hours, guests were greeted with oysters upon arrival. As the evening drew to a close before heading to the after-party, Brennan’s staff served espresso martinis to everyone.

[/field]
[field title=”Florals & Decor”]

Angle Events did an amazing job with the decor! I told Anna and Adrienne that I wanted a lot of block print patterns, colored wine glasses, patterned plates, and texture – anything but simple! Brennan’s is such a unique, colorful place, and I knew we had to go all-out on the tablecloths, napkins, plates, candles, etc. The watercolor menus, designed by Angle, were such beautiful detail. We also had custom oyster shells with our guests’ names on them for our place cards. Several of our guests still have them as keepsakes! Leaf & Petal Nola and Luminous Events did an incredible job with the flowers and candles. Daniel and I both love hydrangeas, so we had to incorporate those into the design. Something that was important to me was that I wanted to make sure people could actually speak at dinner, so we did smaller arrangements on the tables with lots of colored candles in hurricanes and large flower arrangements in chinoiserie vases in various gathering places throughout the restaurant. At the after party behind the band, there was a greenery wall with a “Galvez” sign and lanterns hanging from the top of the clear tent which made you feel as if you were outside.

[/field]
[field title=”Wedding Cake”]

I aimed to integrate the baby blue theme into the main cake, as it was a unifying color in our decor. Bittersweet Confections of Nola crafted a stunning Funfetti cake adorned with blue flowers sprinkled all over. They also designed the Groom’s Cake, which a special surprise for Daniel. Bittersweet Cakes created an extraordinary chocolate cake themed after Jackson Hole ski runs, featuring a sign for Corbet’s Couloir, the most infamous run at our favorite resort.

[/field]
[field title=”Readings, Ceremony Music, Reception Songs”]
A string quartet serenaded guests as they arrived during cocktail hour, adding to the ambiance. Despite only taking one dance lesson, we completely botched the choreography for our first dance to “L-O-V-E,” but we laughed and had a blast dancing nonetheless![/field]
[field title=”Special Detail #1″]

One of the most cherished moments of our wedding day was the second line and the journey to it! This was undoubtedly the highlight of our wedding day. Angle Events coordinated a police escort to transport our guests in buses from Uptown New Orleans (where St. Charles Presbyterian Church is situated) all the way to Canal Street. Daniel and I enjoyed a magical “just married” ride downtown in a vintage Rolls Royce where we met up with our guests. As our guests disembarked and began the second line to Brennan’s with Kinfolk Brass Band, we closed down Canal Street. It was an incredibly joyful experience, and for that day, we felt like celebrities!

[/field]
[field title=”Special Detail #2″]

Sit-down dinner weddings aren’t the norm in New Orleans, where receptions are typically more casual. However, knowing our east coast parents and their guests would appreciate the full dinner experience, we opted for it. Brennan’s went above and beyond, allowing Angle Events to decorate early and seamlessly accommodating our 235 guests across all the restaurant’s rooms. Each room at Brennan’s boasts its own unique theme, so we took advantage of this by incorporating different dinner table decor themes to match.

Western Feminine Flair at Foster Creek Farms

[section title=”The Planning”]
[field title=”Wedding Colors”]

The design started to develop quickly after the venue was selected and really when Sarah found the perfect Maid of Honor dress- pink and patterned. There was no question from the beginning that this wedding was going to be full of color. Sarah’s bridesmaids wore mix matched pink dresses and the florals were full shades of red!

[/field]
[field title=”Design / Vibe / Vision”]

Along with Sarah and Tommy’s planning and design team, they had so much fun allowing color to compliment the patterned linens mixed with the natural textures of wood and leather. The overall design was the perfect balance of western feminine flair! Sarah has an amazing sense of style and it is truly showcased in all the details of the wedding.

[/field]
[field title=”Proposal Story”]”Coldest day in January, Tommy asked me to come tag a new calf with him. I got all bundled up to go outside and first went into the “dairy house” barn to grab the calf tagging box before taking the gator out into the field. As I opened the box to make sure we had everything we needed, Tommy had written on the ear tag “Will you marry me?” I turned around to find him on one knee :)”[/field]

But a few months into planning it became clear that a ranch wedding was really what Sarah’s heart was set on.  After a few days and lots of discussion on logistics, Sarah and Tommy talked to their families and decided they wanted to have a destination wedding in Montana!

From that moment on, everything fell into place because it was truly the perfect setting for these two. A Dream Wedding at a Pink Villa Overlooking the Amalfi Coast

[section title=”The Planning”]
[field title=”The Inspiration”]

In the idyllic coastal town of Positano, where the azure waters of the Mediterranean meet the rugged cliffs of the Amalfi Coast, lies the stunning haven of Villa San Giacomo. Here, amidst the splendor of nature’s artistry, a remarkable wedding unfolds at this captivating pink villa, promising an affair of refined elegance and high fashion. The venue and setting served as our primary inspiration for this editorial. The setting is a vision of Mediterranean grandeur, with the villa commanding attention against the backdrop of the cobalt sea. Adorned with cascading bougainvillea and lush greenery, its terraces offer panoramic views of the coastline, setting a stage worthy of the most lavish affair.

[/field]
[field title=”Wedding Colors”]We chose a delicate palette of soft coral pink tones and greens to compliment the venue facade and gardens, lending an air of opulence to every corner.
[/field]
[field title=”The Venue”]At the heart of this editorial is a magnificent pink villa, perched gracefully on the cliffs, overlooking the azure waters below. Its facades adorned with lush gardens and its terraces draped in the warmth of the Italian sun, this villa is the epitome of elegance and charm. It truly created a backdrop for a celebration that promises to be nothing short of magical.

A Relaxed Outdoor Wedding in Calming Shades of Blue at Park Winters

[section title=”The Planning”]
[field title=”Wedding Colors”]Blue has always held a special place in my heart, so it was only natural that it became the theme color of our wedding. From the soft, ethereal hues to the bold, deep shades,
every corner of our venue was adorned with the calming color of the sea. And with hints of pink and orange woven into the décor, the atmosphere offered our guests a refreshing escape from the summer heat.[/field]
[field title=”Design / Vibe / Vision”]My husband and I are both laid-back individuals, so it was important to us that our wedding felt more like a relaxed gathering than a formal affair. Vibrant Patterns and Pops of Spring Florals at Lowndes Grove

[section title=”The Planning”]
[field title=”Wedding Colors”]

Pinks, Yellows, Ivory, and Greens.

[/field]
[field title=”Design / Vibe / Vision”]

I’d describe my vibe as a blend of classic and whimsical. Initially, I envisioned a timeless wedding, hence the choice of the beautiful Lowndes Grove venue, the elegant black & white checkered dance floor, and the stylish tuxedos. However, when we settled on a springtime celebration in Charleston, I knew I wanted to incorporate some whimsical elements, such as a floral arch, a dance floor ceiling installation, and mixed floral bridesmaids’ gowns. With the expertise of Christina Baxter Weddings & Events and a team of talented vendors, my Pinterest board dreams were brought to life.

[/field]
[field title=”Proposal Story”]

Stu proposed to me on the rooftop deck of our Hoboken apartment building, with a breathtaking view of the Hudson River against the backdrop of the New York City skyline. Despite the freezing temperatures, it was a stunningly clear November day in 2021. After a sweet proposal, we headed to Stingray Lounge, our favorite local spot, where our family and friends were gathered to celebrate with us. Stu did an incredible job! I was completely surprised and overwhelmed with joy! As a fun detail, one of the signature cocktails at our wedding was “The Stingray,” an extra dirty martini named after our favorite drink at our favorite spot.

[field title=”Wedding Gown”]

My dress, a Carolina Herrera strapless gown, featured a floral lace bodice, silk skirt, and a long train. Mindy from Mark Ingram Atelier selected it for me, and the moment I tried it on, I knew it was the one. Despite my initial hesitation about the strapless neckline, as I desired sleeves for the ceremony, Mindy suggested a custom topper made from the same floral lace as the bodice. Deb, a master seamstress, seamlessly constructed the topper to blend with the dress. I was blown away! Completing the ensemble were my Loeffler Randall shoes (my something blue), my late grandmother’s pearl earrings (something old/borrowed), and the engagement ring and wedding bands from Brent Miller Jewelers. For my second look, I opted for a cream, feather-trimmed mini dress, which I found on Etsy. Pairing it with pearl Jimmy Choo platforms, my all-time favorite shoes, created a stunning ensemble change for the reception.

[/field]
[field title=”Bridesmaid Dresses”]

I opted against traditional matching bridesmaid dresses, preferring a mix-and-match look that would also allow the girls to wear their dresses again. The ensemble featured an array of pinks and yellows, including solids and prints, sourced from various designers such as Agua Bendita, Alexia Maria, and Fame and Partners. The result was stunning, with everyone looking beautiful and comfortable, and I loved how all the dresses complemented each other. My mom’s dress was equally impressive. Designed by Monique Lhuillier, we discovered it at Bergdorfs in NYC. Despite being the last one, it fit her perfectly. We both agreed it was the ideal “springtime in Charleston” dress and served as inspiration for much of the wedding’s design, colors, and florals. Her shoes were Sarah Flint, her feather purse was from J Crew, and she adorned herself with sunglasses from Krewe.

Stu treated himself to a custom-tailored tuxedo from Suit Supply. Despite not being a huge fan of shopping, he actually enjoyed the process. Everything fit him perfectly, and we were so pleased!

The hors d’oeuvres featured spicy tuna tartar in a cucumber cup, mini chicken and waffles, crispy miso pork belly, truffle arancini, and fried green tomatoes with pimento cheese. Additionally, there was a raw bar with oysters and shrimp cocktail. For dinner, guests had a choice of sea bass, short ribs, or chicken breast, accompanied by Boursin whipped potatoes and asparagus. The drink selection included three signature cocktails (a spicy margarita, a Manhattan, and “The Stingray”), along with a full bar and wine served during dinner. The quality and variety of food and drinks were exceptional, and I highly recommend PPHG to any couples getting married in Charleston.

[/field]
[field title=”Florals & Decor”]

The flowers truly stole the show! Ally from Blossom Bay Design is a true artist. From the stunning bouquets to the gorgeous dance floor installation with floating “orbs,” every detail was perfection. Her creation of a breathtaking floral arch for the ceremony and the lush aisle decor added was pure magic. Each individual flower was exquisite, and the way she curated them together was beyond compare. Ally’s creativity extended to the escort board, where she surprised me by adding real flowers alongside the printed ones on the seating cards. Additionally, Ally and Christina adorned the getaway car with flowers, which made for some unforgettable photos! Their attention to detail truly made our day even more special.

[/field]
[field title=”Wedding Cake”]

For the wedding cake, we opted for a four-tier vanilla cake filled with coconut cream and adorned with cream cheese frosting. Laney from Delicious Desserts delivered exceptional work, crafting a cake that was as delectable as it was stunning. I can hardly wait to enjoy the top tier of the cake on our anniversary! Alongside the cake, we treated our guests to a variety of passed desserts, including confetti cookies with cereal milk, mini ice cream sandwiches, key lime tarts, and peanut butter mousse cups.

A Classic Summer Coastal Blue Tented Wedding

[section title=”The Planning”]
[field title=”Wedding Colors”]

The wedding colors were dusty blues, classic whites, and greens.

[/field]
[field title=”Design / Vibe / Vision”]

Marisa and Colton had an elegant coastal wedding at Bay Harbor Marina in Petoskey, Michigan. They embraced a color scheme of dusty blues like the sea, classic whites, and greens. It was a dreamy August day that was perfect for their outdoor celebration. From the extravagant floral arch at their beach ceremony to the personalized oyster shell place cards, truly no detail went unnoticed on their big day, and everything fit the coastal theme perfectly. Plus, Marisa and Colton kept their guests at the forefront. During the reception, they had friendly matches of cornhole, a cigar bar, an audio guest book, and glow sticks on the dance floor. It was all a huge hit with the guests!

The bride wore a textured a-line, cap-sleeve gown by Tom Sebastien. With a deep v-neck and lace details, it was perfect for the coastal day. She purchased it at The Bridal Studio in Salt Lake City, Utah. After dinner came time for dancing, so Marisa changed into her satin, long-sleeved reception dress. It was a totally different look for her!

Her bridesmaids wore dusty blue satin gowns in a variety of styles purchased from Revelry.

After the ceremony, guests moved to the Bay Harbor Marina Lawn for the cocktail hour outside of the reception tent. They enjoyed mingling over oysters and shrimp before moving under the tent for the reception. The couple had three signature drinks, all a nod to their heritage and story, complete with custom gold drink stirrers in the shapes of their home states, Michigan and Indiana. The groom’s drink was The Hoosier, a take on the Old Fashioned. The bride’s drink was Smitten in the Mitten, a take on a spicy margarita. Lastly, the joint drink was Off to Bora Bora (their honeymoon destination), a take on the classic gin and tonic.

[/field]
[field title=”Florals & Decor”]

When it came time for the ceremony, guests found their seats overlooking Lake Michigan. The elegant blue, white, and greenery floral arch and the crashing waves behind it made for a spectacular backdrop. When it came time for the reception, they followed the rose path to the tent entrance. Once under the reception tent, guests were in awe at the sailcloth tent, complete with lush florals, romantic string lights, and beautiful lounge-style spaces.

[field title=”Wedding Cake”]

Jessica at Simply Sweet By Jessica created a stunning and classic 4-tier wedding cake for the couple and their guests. The gorgeous blue hydrangeas cascaded down the front for a touch of coastal blue to tie in with the rest of the theme.

The bride got ready with her bridesmaids at Bay Harbor Marina. They had an enjoyable morning as they got their hair and makeup done. Marisa surprised her grandmother with a cake since it was her birthday.

After getting ready, Marisa and Colton shared a private moment, just the two of them. Instead of a first look, they shared a first touch and didn’t actually see each other before the ceremony. It was special to see them spend that time together before Colton saw Marisa for the first time as she walked down the aisle!

A McGovern Gardens Wedding Reception With Unbelievable Hydrangea Installations

[section title=”The Planning”]
[field title=”Wedding Colors”]

The colors were pastel blues and pinks.

[field title=”Design / Vibe / Vision”]

Anna Louise and Walker’s wedding reception awakened fearless displays of blue hydrangeas and indescribable floral installations that maintained a timeless and elegant feel. Mcgovern Centennial Gardens in Houston displayed elevated gardens, a memorable fountain, and a delicate grassy lawn for their reception.

[/field]
[field title=”Proposal Story”]

The evening that Anna Louise and Walker met was unexpected, as they were both attending a mutual friend’s birthday party. The pair enjoyed each other’s company so much that they exchanged numbers and chatted the rest of the weekend. The following week, the couple arranged to have their first date at a swanky wine bar. For the couple’s engagement, Walker planned a surprise weekend. Anna Louise thought they would be leaving town to visit the beach with family, but instead, when she arrived to pick up Walker, he proposed in their backyard.

A Vintage French Garden Party in the Middle of Oklahoma

[section title=”The Planning”]
[field title=”Wedding Colors”]When it came to color in the wedding the bride didn’t want it to be too over powering but she still wanted some pops of color! The color mainly came from the flowers, the food/ dessert tables, and the bridesmaids. The colors consisted of more muted blues, yellows, greens, peach, pink, and of course white. Her bouquet was the perfect example of the colors used throughout the wedding! [/field]
[field title=”Design / Vibe / Vision”]

The vision of the wedding was to create a vintage French garden party in the middle of Oklahoma. Luckily, their venue did half the work with the beautiful architectural and design decisions. The design of the wedding focused on small details such as vintage china, mixed glassware, stunning florals, and other vintage details throughout the spaces that came together to create the perfect ceremony, cocktail hour, and reception spaces!

[/field]
[field title=”Proposal Story”]Merrik had gone to Edmond (her hometown) one weekend at the beginning of October for a few different things. On Sunday morning she was getting ready for church and while her, her parents, older sister, and her brother in law were at church Luke, his mom, friend Houston, and her two younger sisters were working hard to set up a proposal picnic at the Myriad Gardens in Oklahoma City! After church her family told me her they were going to a new brunch spot in downtown OKC (which was very abnormal, but she’s not one to question). Her sister proceeds to say that since they were so early for their reservation she wanted to stop and take pictures at the Myriad Gardens. Merrik again didn’t question, so she followed her family directly to where Luke was waiting! He then gets on one knee and asks Merrik to marry him! She of course said yes and the rest of their friends and family popped out of the bushes to celebrate! After a few pictures they did end up going to brunch at Tellers in OKC! [/field]

[section title=”The Fashion”]
[field title=”Wedding Gown”]Merrik absolutely loved her wedding dress and it could not have been more perfect for her. It fit her and the vibe of the wedding perfectly. The designer of her dress is Danielle Frankel and as soon as she saw her designs she knew she needed to wear one of her dresses for her wedding! Her designs are unlike anything the bride has seen. They have a more Victorian feel and are absolutely stunning which she thought was fitting for the wedding vision. Pure art! [/field]
[field title=”Bridesmaid Dresses”]For the bridesmaid dresses she wanted all of the girls to feel confident and to love their dresses. Merrik also wanted each dress to be different colors, different textures, and different patterns. Many different dresses were ordered and tried on to find the perfect ones. The main colors were blue, yellow, pink, mauve, and green with different textures and floral patterns. While they weren’t all the same color or cut they went together perfectly and everyone looked amazing! [/field]
[field title=”Groomsman Attire”]For Luke’s wedding suit they went to many different stores trying to find what they were looking for. Merrik wanted Luke’s suit to match the vibe of her dress and the wedding. They ended up making a custom suit at Hive and Colony in Dallas, Texas. The suit was a double breasted tan and brown herringbone fabric with a slim lapel. The suit jacket was gutted for breathability since they were getting married in Oklahoma in June. He paired this with an ivory button down, a colorful paisley pocket square with the simple pocket boutonnière and dark brown loafers. The suit was perfect and Luke looked great. When it came to the groomsmen, Merrik wanted them to have plain tan suits with a simple white button down. This way Luke stood out in the group and you could clearly see who the groom was! [/field]
[/section]

[board_carousel title=”Ceremony”]

[/board_carousel]
[section title=”The Details”]
[field title=”Food & Drink”]For the food, Merrik wanted the table to look just as good as it tasted. She wanted the food tables to almost be a part of the decor in the reception. They had Abbey Road Catering do the food and the drinks and they had a beautiful assortment of meats and cheeses with fruit plates, tea sandwiches, a bread basket, vegetable cups and more! On top of that they had two signature drinks: a lemon drop and an old fashion with beer and wine as well! It was all delicious and done beautifully!
(To bring the vintage elegance vibe into the wedding the bride also thrifted all of the china dishes, bowls, platters, and stands for the dessert table and food/ charcuterie tables!) [/field]
[field title=”Florals & Decor”]The Baumberhof venue is already so beautiful on its own, so there wasn’t a lot they needed to do to create their French garden party vision! Their florals were done by Poppy Lane Design and one of Merrik’s favorite arrangements was her bouquet. It was stunning and added just the right colors to the wedding! For the ceremony, Kelly, with Poppy Lane, and her team individually drilled holes into the ground and placed white roses all they way down the aisles. On top of that, they also did a beautiful swirling arbor of babies breathe around the wooden arch at the front of the aisle. For the reception I wanted the dinner to feel more intimate so we did three long tables that went from one side of the room to the other and on top of the tables were (some rented and some thrifted by me) all different vintage china plates with colorful glassware. The florals included small bud vases and frog arrangements with mixed brass candle sticks It was simple but beautifully executed. They also had a black and white checkered dance floor with ivory paper lanterns hung above. [/field]
[field title=”Wedding Cake”]The wedding cake was done by Allie’s Baking Boutique! The inspiration was the vintage cake designs that have been very popular more recently. It was two layers with detailed white frosting and red cherries around the edges. For the groom’s cake they did a smaller white heart cake that said “til death do us part” written in black frosting on the top. Both were delicious and beautifully done. Not only did she make the cakes, similar to the charcuterie tables, Merrik wanted the dessert table to be part of the decor. Allie put together the most amazing dessert table with lemon bars, chocolate covered strawberries, chocolate chip cookies, mini fruit tarts, mini cakes, and many more. Merrik was blown away by how amazing everything looked and tasted!
(To bring the vintage elegance vibe into the wedding she also thrifted all of the china dishes, bowls, platters, and stands for the dessert table and food/ charcuterie tables!) [/field]
[field title=”Readings, Ceremony Music, Reception Songs”]Before the ceremony started Merrik and Luke had the Bridgerton soundtrack being played by the live string quartet which fit the vibe perfectly! They also continued to play it during cocktail hour. When they walked down the aisle they had live strings play a medley of Canon in D to play as the bridal party walked down, and then as Merrik and her dad walked down the aisle, the string quartet started playing Golden Hour by JVKE. She also had her younger sister and maid of honor read Ephesians 5:22-23 during the ceremony. They also had a friend of theirs sing one of their favorite songs Salt and Light by Lauren Daigle! She did an amazing job. And finally Merrik and Luke walked back down the aisle to “This is What Falling in Love Feels Like” by JVKE.[/field]
[field title=”Special Detail #1″]Due to the layout of the reception being three long tables Merrik thought it was important to create a seating chart to prevent any confusion! She had a very specific vision in mind, so she DIYed the guest seating chart, the table numbers, and the place settings. The seating chart was created with a large mirror she thrifted at Goodwill and spray painted gold! Then Merrik printed out the names and table numbers on card stock taped it to the mirror and added a gold seal to the top of each page to complete the vision. For the table numbers Merrik bought 5 pieces of travertine tile, broke them into small pieces that could still stand on its own and then glued plastic white cursive numbers to each individual piece of travertine. The last part she needed was the actual name cards. Merrik used a cursive font, two different pieces of card stock and a gold seal to put them all together. They placed those at the center of the vintage china plates and it all came together beautifully. [/field]
[field title=”Special Detail #2″]Because Merrik and Luke were getting married in June in Oklahoma it was pretty warm. To help the guests feel more comfortable they placed individual hand fans on each chair. They also had cute ivory parasols for the bridesmaids. [/field]
[field title=”Special Detail #3″]For the program Merrik created a newspaper from scratch. She did all of this on Canva and then sent it to be printed at the Newspaper Club! It was such a fun detail and a pretty inexpensive way to have a unique program. In the newspaper she put “our story”, a fun crossword on the back, a lot of our amazing engagement pictures, and the typical program information. It turned out perfect! [/field]

[field title=”Proposal Story”]From the bride –
Jared proposed on June 24, 2022 in Chicago. It was a perfect summer day and I was planning to go to dinner with a few of my girl friends at a new spot in Lincoln Park. On the way to dinner with my friends, they suggested we get a drink somewhere nearby first. We arrived at CSK, a place I’d never been but look super cute online. Once we got there, I entered the patio to see Jared with a beautifully romantic set up of candles, twinkly lights, and flowers and nobody else. He proposed here and when we entered CSK, all of our friends and family were there to celebrate. He had rented out the entire bar/restaurant so we could have an amazing engagement party there that same night. There were photos of us at our favorite moments and he catered our favorite local spot, the Athenian room. People had flown from around the country. It was so special and I felt so loved. It was so perfect and something I’ll never forget. I had never been so surprised in my life and it was so clear how much effort he put into this moment. [/field]

[field title=”Special Detail #1″]From the bride –

I really wanted this wedding to feel timeless and elegant. But personal and warm at the same time and I think we perfectly nailed that! I wanted guests to have fun and feel the love just as much as Jared and I did that day. We’re huge foodies so having tons of food (and cheese) was important to us! Some special moments during our day was reading letters from each other earlier in the day prior to our first look. This really made me emotional and even more excited. It was nice to be able to check in via these letters. Our first look was extremely special to me as well. That private moment he even shed a few tears – something he never does. Getting ready with my bridesmaids was also such a blast. My co-maid of honor Nicole made an awesome playlist of all our favorite throwback songs. It was an amazing and calm start to the day being with my best friends. I also loved my first look with my dad. He’s normally not a very emotional guy, and during this he was overcome with emotion. For our wedding, I had gifted him a handkerchief with my grandmas handwriting on it as she had recently passed, and this had to come out at this moment. It was just a very sweet moment.

This wedding really was everything I had dreamed of. Seeing all my friends and family in one place, celebrating with them in our hometown, and marrying my best friend was more than I could have ever asked for!
[/field]
[field title=”Special Detail #2″]From the planner – Every element built upon each other. A Something Blue Coastal-Classic Rosemary Beach Soiree for a Wedding Planner Turned Bride

The vision for this wedding was Southern, coastal-elegance, with an intimate dinner party feel to it. I really wanted the venue, The Pearl Hotel, to speak for itself with touches of blue to tie in the beach vibe. We wanted our guests to feel like they were transported to a quaint coastal town (not in Florida) to celebrate our love! It was a small, intimate wedding with all of our closest friends & family!

[field title=”Proposal Story”]

Joshua and Lauryn met in high school chemistry class and ended up beginning their love story a few years later when they were at the same college (Troy University). After five years of dating, Joshua arranged and planned a family dinner night with both of their families (or so I thought that was it). On the way to dinner, we made a pit stop at the Sybil Temple Overlook spot in Vestavia Hills, AL, where Joshua got down on one knee and proposed to Lauryn! It was just the two of us, so romantic & intimate! Joshua had set up his phone in the bushes, where he was video-recording the whole proposal! I couldn’t have asked for anything more perfect! Then, after the proposal, we drove to have dinner with both our families & celebrated the start of our engagement season!!

Real Brides Share Their Wedding Morning Must Haves and Advice

Leading up to the wedding day, we know brides spend so much time and energy thinking through every last detail of the main event that they often forget to plan for what will happen in the hours before they walk down the aisle. The morning of the wedding can be such a special time, but it can also be stressful if you aren’t prepared. We asked real brides to share their own wedding morning must-haves and what advice they would give now, plus a few recommendations of our own!

What’s the one thing you’re so glad you had the morning of your wedding?

“Must haves 1. Champagne! And lots of snacks (it’s a long day) 2. A steamer 3. Phone chargers 4. A speaker with good playlists” – Kristina, married July 2018

“Fun music! I needed fun music going all morning to keep the vibe strong. On a more sentimental note – I took 15 minutes alone upstairs to write a “day-of” note to my husband capturing all of my thoughts and feelings that morning. It was nice to step away from the craziness of the glam zone and focus on the purpose of the day for a few minutes, I’ll never forget how zen that felt for me.” – Deanna, married October 2017

“a GOOD breakfast — the day gets so busy, and you’ll be glad you’re not hangry later. quiet time to get ready with whoever is most important in your life. And send the bridesmaid crew and larger wedding party elsewhere so it’s just you and your closest loved ones there for that super special moment of getting dressed and really feeling like “the bride” for the first time. Schedule LOTS of extra time in the morning. You won’t regret it. Even if everyone’s ready early, it gives you extra time to hangout with your bridal party that you love so dearly.” Megan, Married August 2017

“Time scheduled in with loved ones! knew once we had our first look, the wedding day would start to move quickly so I made sure to schedule in time with my mom and dad before heading out for the first look. This alone time with my parents was one of the most special parts of the day. I’ll never forget my dad’s reaction when he saw me in my wedding dress for the first time! But we did run out of time for a few things like exchanging presents. I had gifts prepared for all of the bridesmaids, my mom, and my mother in law and we suddenly ran out of time and my bridesmaids opened up their gifts after I left for the first look. I was disappointed I didn’t get to see their faces opening the presents since I put a lot of time and energy in writing them meaningful cards and selecting special gifts for them.” – Samantha, married September 2018

What advice would you give to another bride planning her own wedding morning?

“Organize whatever you can the night before — gifts, cocktail ingredients, hair supplies, accessories, etc. You don’t want to be scrambling around the morning of. The week before, clearly outline to everyone, and I mean everyone, even Dad, their roles and expectations of them the morning of. Do your best to create a relaxed environment — everyone else feeds off of you. I really loved that I had a nice big open space for everyone to mingle and relax together that morning. We ate breakfast together, had cocktails, danced and were silly together — got everyone and the whole day off on the right foot.” – Megan, married August 2017

“Have a schedule and clearly communicate when everyone needs to be where, there’s so many moving parts it’s going to be hard to answer everyone asking the bride “what time are the guys coming” “what time is my hair appt” “are we getting lunch”. I printed out a schedule and taped it to the wall so if anyone had questions, they could check themselves. Outside of that, breathe! As mentioned above, someone else will handle all of your fire drills before you even know they’re happening – aka your wedding planner, photographer, MOH or mom.” – Deanna, married October 2018

“Don’t stay out late the night before! It was so hard to pull myself away from Welcome Drinks after the rehearsal because it was so exciting to see all of our friends and family together in one room. However, staying up late will only cause you to be extra tired the morning of your wedding day which is a feeling no bride wants! Also, it’s important to lay off the alcohol the night before the wedding. Stick to 1-2 drinks max to ensure you look and feel amazing!” – Samantha, Married September 2018

“I’d say put down your phone, let the little hiccups roll off and SOAK IT IN! You’re marrying the love of your life. You’re surrounded by your girls. You family is there to celebrate you. You have everyone you love under one roof which may never happen again in your life. Don’t sweat the small stuff and enjoy the moment.” – Mindy, married September 2017

Our Recommendations:

But first, coffee

We’ve all seen the Starbucks cups with the handwritten “bride” and girl – today is your day to rock it. But with so many couples choosing remote or nontraditional venues, ensuring you have coffee and breakfast at the ready takes a little more planning. Make sure you put someone in charge of the morning coffee run and collect orders in advance so the start to the day is seamless and caffeinated.

Be on the same page

Your wedding planner and beauty team should help you with this, but make sure you’ve got a clear schedule of the who, what, when, where (and wear) on your wedding day. Communicate expectations with your bride tribe at least a week in advance so that everyone is where they need to be on time or better yet, early. Always ask for an arrival time at least 15 minutes earlier than the scheduled start time because as they say – if you’re not early, you’re late! The morning of, post the schedule on the wall of your getting ready space to avoid questions and confusion and keep everyone literally on the same page.

From head to toe

This one is a very small but helpful hint! All too often we’ve seen adorable getting ready outfits ruined by mismatched socks or shoes. Depending on when and where you’re getting married, chances are you’re going to want something on your feet for that getting ready morning. You can always ask the hotel to send up extra pairs of slippers to the room or consider giving your girls their dance floor flip flops a few hours early. You’ll be more comfortable and the photo opps just got even better.

Rips (and wrinkles) happen

So sad but so true. No matter how many fittings you had it’s possible that something will go wrong with your dress or a bridesmaid’s the morning of the wedding. Make sure you’ve got a needle and thread on hand in case a strap tears, an applique comes loose or a seam pops. Consider a few no-sew solutions as well like double sided tape, iron-on adhesive and good old-fashioned fabric glue. Something else to consider? A hand-held steamer. Most bridal fabrics are super sensitive and easily wrinkled and you don’t want to risk scalding satin or silk with an iron!

Take a moment

When building a day-of schedule, think through the milestones that will happen the morning of their wedding and think of who they want to be there for the moments that will turn into their favorite memories. Whether that’s one-on-one time with the MOH as you put on your wedding dress, a few minutes set aside for a first look with the Father of the Bride, or even quiet time alone to reflect and write, be sure to make time on your wedding morning to enjoy those moments that mean the most.
