Idyllic Destination Wedding in Mykonos

From Sandy and Odysseas PhotographyWe had such a great time capturing Christina and David’s wedding in Mykonos. They were so wonderfully tuned with the vibes of the island and their style choices were impeccable. We loved the fact that they were so thoughtful towards their guests and their whole wedding was oriented in pampering their loved ones every way possible, without exaggerating on their church or table decor, just keeping things substantial and meaningful…

More from Sandy and Odysseas Photography… Sometimes a couple forgets that this day is all about them, and rushes things. Keeping a perfectly English timeline, they managed to spend plenty of time enjoying with their bride and groom squads, their families and with each other. As the lovely bride is of a Cypriot descent the beautiful wedding rituals prior to the ceremony took place in an utterly emotional atmosphere. It’s a tremendous thing to witness all that keeps a culture’s roots and the couple itself together and we were thrilled to have been part of this.

From the bride, ChristinaHaving grown up in England, where the weather is so unpredictable, we both always dreamed of getting married near the sea, in a hot, beautiful destination. Being from a close Cypriot family, it was important for me to incorporate my culture into our special day. We looked at so many different destinations across Europe, but something just didn’t feel right trying to create a traditional Greek wedding in Italy or France.

We decided to plan our wedding in Mykonos, a Greek island we had yet to visit but was on our list of holiday destinations. We heard so many great things about the Island and loved the idea of a smaller intimate wedding in comparison to the 400+ guest weddings us Cypriots normally have in Liverpool. We loved the idea of surprise and most importantly it was the perfect excuse to hire a wedding planner!

Being quite an indecisive person, it took me a while to settle on my colors and decoration. I always knew I wanted a romantic and traditional wedding and my light gold and Ivory color scheme really complimented the stunning sunset and sea view reception. We incorporated a traditional Cypriot blessing for me before the ceremony known as “Stolisma” (usually done at the bride’s parents house but in my case on the veranda outside my hotel room). This ceremony prepared me for my special day and involved blessing me with a red scarf and “kapnistiri” (a silver pot for burning olive leaves), whilst my close family and friends joined in singing traditional songs with the violinists. It was all very emotional!

The scenery at the chapel and reception was so naturally beautiful that I didn’t need to overdo it with decorations. My wedding planner was amazing at creating exactly what I described to her. At the chapel, we had two very tall traditional candles either side of the ceremony table, decorated with olive branches and greenery and a beautiful white flower arched wreath over the door of the chapel. Outside the church, there was a small table with Jars of lemonade for the guests and some beautiful ivory fans which had details of the wedding party and ceremony on.

The venue looked stunning with different sized lanterns and candles placed around the reception and hanging from trees. The centerpieces were simple and elegant with a large white lantern and flowers around it. On each table was a small bottle of ouzo with a thank you tag, and a sparkler with each guests name on. I loved my seating plan stand decorated with a few flowers, which was covered in shimmery gold Polaroids for each guest to take home. My three-layered cake was actual cheese and covered with figs and grapes, with crackers and snacks for guests to feast on towards the end of the night. I couldn’t have asked for a better setting.

The flowers used in my bouquet and venue were so beautiful and elegant looking. We used Ivory roses, white lisianthus, white freesias, white dendrobium orchards, calla lily and white limonium.

For our table plan, we had personalized gold polaroids hung up on a flower decorated board for each of our guests/couples for them to find their picture and take their seats. The favorite part of our wedding would have to be during the ceremony when the rice was thrown at us a bit too early and caught us by surprise. Even the priest used the bible to protect himself from the throwing. I also loved our entrance into the reception area as the sun was setting. The scenery was so romantic as we walked in as man and wife with a traditional Cypriot song ‘Kozan’ playing and all our friends cheering.

I always wanted quite a traditional long sleeved timeless wedding dress, but when the dress I ordered arrived it didn’t fit like I had imagined. So I decided to get my dress restyled and customised to create the perfect dress I had always dreamed of. The bodice of the dress was covered with beautiful Venice lace, with a sheer illusion neckline and lace sleeves. The back of the dress was low cut and the skirt of the dress was aline with the softest tulle I have ever touched. It flowed and fit me so perfectly. I loved my single layered, lace trimmed cathedral veil and my champaign peak toe Kurt Geiger’s.

David wore a light blue linen suit, white shirt, and light gold tie. He looked so smart and handsome and his tan shoes and belt really made the suit!

We met through friends of friends and for our first date went out for a few drinks in the city center of Liverpool where we live… And Never looked back! The proposal was actually quite funny, as I had gone out for food for my friends birthday and David knowing how much I love candles had filled up our whole home full of them. However, I was home at least 2 hours later than expected and was slightly tipsy! So not only did I forget my keys, but when David answered the door to me with the hallway totally lit up, I was actually hiding behind the corner of the door to scare him!!! It took me a good few seconds to realize what was happening!!! It was a perfect proposal, just me and him. He even proposed to me in Greek!!! It was very romantic!

Τhe most anticipated or special moment of our wedding day was walking up to the chapel. It was set high up on a cliff so David wouldn’t have seen me whilst I walked up with the violins playing in front of me. It built up the anticipation and seeing his face smiling at me when he finally saw me was the perfect moment for me. My wedding planning advice is to make some time (even if it’s 10 minutes) after the ceremony to be alone and just process what just took place. Don’t let people sway your mind or try to tell you how they think your wedding should be planned. Remember it’s your day, not theirs!

This Bright and Happy Bohemian Wedding is All Smiles

Modern and bohemian are only the beginning of this wildly sweet celebration planned by Kindle and Gather. Because behind the brightly hued florals by Bristol Lane, the ever so strong sign game and the burger food truck eats, is immeasurable amounts of love. You can’t fake infinite happiness and the proof is in the pudding. See all the beauty and smiles so perfectly captured by Michelle Boyd, with even more in the gallery.

From the bride… Planning your favorite day with your favorite human can at first seem like a daunting task. When Luke and I set off to create our wedding day we knew it would be easy to get lost in the avalanche of details that follow. We were on a road trip the day after we got engaged and had five hours to dream of our wedding together, so we set the list of what we cared about. It came down to three things: proclaiming the Gospel of Jesus, celebrating our community and their part in our story, and having the most joyful party after. The rest faded into the background when we realized what was most important to us.

The week after Luke proposed, I wrote down what our day was about to be read before I even walked down the aisle. That moment where those words were read for our friends and families stands out as one of the holiest moments I’ve experienced.

As a wedding photographer, picking my wedding vendors was the easiest thing in the world. Michelle Boyd taught me how to work a camera, gave me my first photography job, and dreamed bigger for my business than I even could when first starting out. She was the first and only choice to capture our story. We picked vendors who’s work has proven excellent over the years, but more importantly, people we loved and wanted to showcase on our day. My sister is the most talented floral designer. She not only came up with the most gorgeous creations possible but rocked being maid of honor while seven months pregnant. She helped me design the day and truly helped make the vision come to life. Our entire team of vendors had creative control over their areas of expertise, we let them design and dictate what they know best. Every single one delivered beyond our wildest expectations.

Our day was the most perfect representation of us there could be. One of our favorite details of the day was the arch he and I made for our ceremony backdrop! We had two of our old Young Life kids serve us communion then worshiped together as a community with our guests. From the ceremony being intimate and laughter filled to a burger food truck for dinner and a killer dance floor, every moment felt like Luke and I personified and the celebration of the year!

Backyard Wedding + A Barn Reception – Doesn’t Get Any Better!

Emma and Will were married on July 8th in Norwich, Vermont. The ceremony took place in the picturesque backyard of a family home and was officiated by a long time family friend. The groom’s cousin played guitar and sang during the ceremony – including when Emma and her dad walked down the aisle to Tom Petty’s Wildflowers. Moments after the ceremony ended the skies opened up! And guest scampered to get under umbrellas and on busses to head to The Barn at Happy Hill for the reception. Emma and Will drove off in a mint green ’65 VW bug – complete with beer cans tied to the back bumper and foggy windows from the misting rain. ~from Rodeo & Co. Photography.

Emma wore a custom Anna Maier gown and her bridesmaids wore 2-pieces ensembles from BHLDN. She carried a lush and textural bouquet by Valley Flower Company.

The Barn at Happy Hill was a fantastic blank canvas. The meticulously restored milking barn was filled with a mix of farm tables and rounds draped with swiss dot linens. Tables were adorned with lush arrangements and locally made beeswax candles. Custom menus and tiny ferns adorned each place setting. It was the perfect mix of bright and fresh yet cozy and traditional yet unexpected.

Dinner was served family style and guest’s enjoyed some summer favorites – capped off trays of swiss (a nod to the bride’s family) and Vermont chocolates served to each table and a pie and ice cream bar! Late night grilled cheeses rounded out the delicious menu. Guests then danced the night away! … See more in the full gallery!

OBSESSED with the Pink Wallpaper in this Baby Girl’s Nursery

Did you all tune into the gorgeous results of this year’s One Room Challenge back in May? Not only was I super honored to be involved in the challenge, but I was also seriously wow-ed by all of the beautiful rooms crafted by fellow designers and enthusiasts. Case in point? This uber sweet nursery Megan Bachmann designed for her daughter, Heidi. The star of the show is definitely the whimsical Rebecca Atwood wallpaper (Blooms in Blushing Taupe in case you’re wondering). I’m already scheming on how I can incorporate the pattern into my own home. You know when a nursery design is winning when an adult wants to mimic it! Peruse the photos by Vivian Johnson below, and get the look for your own little one’s sweet space.

From Megan BachmannAs an interior designer, I love working with my client’s on their homes, but sometimes I put my own projects on the back burner. When the six week One Room Challenge came up again, I jumped at the opportunity to finally design (and finish!) a space for my daughter, Heidi. I started with a gorgeous Rebecca Atwood Wallpaper which felt perfect for right now, and perfect for a few years from now when she wants a slightly more grown up room.

I found the pressed flower art from an artist on instagram and had it printed in a large scale, and framed in white oak to mirror the floors. We already had the babyletto white crib from my son’s room, and a gorgeous vintage camel back rug that Heidi’s aunt brought back from Turkey for me a few years ago.

The textile art by Jane Denton is a stunner and really makes the reading nook come alive. I decided to hang it a little low on the wall (to scale for a child!) and paired it with some incredible hand dyed linen pillows.

With extra wallpaper, I decided to do the back of the closet as well and I’m so happy I did because its one of my favorite parts of her room now!

These Wedding Dresses Look Like They’re 10k but Cost Less than $1,500

Zac Posen is one of those designers who simply knows how to make a girl look her most spectacular best. So when he decided to partner with the bridal powerhouse that is David’s Bridal (fun fact: they literally dress 1 out of every 3 brides in the US), you just knew that it was a moment  – the moment, really – where magic would happen. If you have already bought your gown, you might need to look away. It’s a hard but true fact that these Truly Zac Posen for David’s Bridal gowns are some of the prettiest, most glamorous gowns we’ve ever laid eyes on. All for under $1500. I told you, you might need to look away. Or maybe just make an appointment.

Runway Inspired

Horsehair Tier Skirt Wedding Dress. Inspired by the runway looks of Zac Posen’s namesake collection, this breathtaking ball gown is the marriage of couture drama and bridal elegance. Three light and airy tiers of horsehair-sculpted tulle create volume and grandeur without weight. The expertly shaped bodice, featuring Posen’s signature seaming, is adorned with hand-placed beaded lace appliques. Style: ZP341835 |  $1458

Couture Craftsmanship

Pleated Organza Wedding Dress. Zac Posen’s signature couture craftsmanship is highlighted in this draped organza trumpet wedding dress. The drop-waist bodice is defined by angular pleats and satin seaming and leads to a soft trumpet skirt finished with structured horsehair trim. Style: ZP341817 | $958

Old Hollywood Glamour

Seamed Satin Wedding Dress. This duchesse satin mermaid gown perfectly captures the allure of Old Hollywood glamour. The sleek, seamed silhouette gorgeously plays up your curves while the back has a few stunning details: buttons trail from the bodice, and a grand bow flourishes atop the tulle train. Style: ZP341718 | $858- $908

The one element that I just could not get over with this collection is how incredibly luxe it looks. The fabrics, the dramatic, high glamour silhouettes, the subtleties, the nuances, the detailing. And yet, the collection is entirely affordable for just about any budget. It’s a match made in marriage heaven and I hope that if you do score one of these beauties, you will send a pic our way so we can see! Just tag the photo on insta #SMPlovesDB!

David’s Bridal has over 300 stores around the country, in the UK and in Canada, so you most likely have one nearby and can see this stunning collection for yourself. They also have in-house experts to ensure that your gown looks and fits flawlessly. And while you are there, you can pick up everything else you need – that gorgeous veil you see above, fabulous shoes, jewelry, you get the drift.

Beachside Wedding at Hotel Del Coronado

Dana and David were married in an intimate beach ceremony at The Hotel Del Coronado in Coronado, CA. The couple frequently took beach vacations and so the decision to share this love of theirs with close friends and family was an easy choice. Their wedding captured the couple’s laid-back personalities complete with beach bonfires, s’mores, a lounge area, and dancing under the moonlight with the ocean as a backdrop. See more of this beautiful wedding from Garret Richardson in the full gallery!

Dana & David were married in an intimate yet beautifully appointed beach ceremony at The Hotel Del Coronado in Coronado, CA. The ocean holds a special place in the couple’s hearts; before getting engaged under a supermoon at Boston Harbor after a day of whale watching, Dana and David frequently took beach vacations and eventually moved to the Island of Grenada for two years for David’s first two years of medical school. While living on the island their favorite hobby was free diving around the reefs and cliffs surrounding St. George’s University and Grand Anse beach. Their wedding captured the couple’s laid-back personalities complete with beach bonfires, s’mores, a lounge area, and dancing under the moonlight with the ocean as a backdrop.

While David and Dana had since moved to New Jersey, with him finishing his clinical rotations in the area and Dana working at a large advertising agency in Manhattan, the couple wanted to incorporate their experiences in Grenada and their love of nature and island life into the day. Therefore, the florals were a mix of traditional white and blush arrangements and tropical greenery and incorporated a beautiful display of silver lanterns which perfectly complemented their nautical silver and dusty navy/light blue color scheme. After the ceremony, guests were encouraged to relax, kick of their shoes, and enjoy dinner, dancing, and s’mores under the stars. Dana and David have lived in many different cities and countries together, therefore the DJ played a selection of Dana and David’s favorite songs from each place and phase of life together.

What was your color palette and your style vision? We both love nautical touches, but didn’t want the style to be too overtly nautical. We chose a dusty navy and silver pallete with some lighter blue accents as well to contribute to a beachy nautical feel while still remaining light and airy with touches of tropical greenery and beautiful florals. We also wanted to contribute to a comfortable and relaxed atmosphere which is where the light lounge furniture and fire pits came into play as a separate section of the reception.

What unique elements or DIY details did you include? We love having beach bonfires so we wanted that to be a unique part of our reception, we also wanted to have a comfy and cozy feel around the fires and lounge areas as the beach can get colder at night and our entire ceremony and reception was outside on the beach so our favors were custom made navy blankets for our guests with our logo printed on the corner.

What was your favorite moment? Your favorite crafted detail? We have been asked this many times since our wedding and honestly our answer is always that the entire night was absolutely perfect and we can’t pick a specific moment because everything was absolutely wonderful. If we had to choose our first dance was definitely one of the most memorable moments because we danced to a song that truly meant a lot to us throughout our relationship – in that moment everyone else disappeared and it was just David and I singing each other those meaningful words and holding each other. Another memorable part of our wedding was that it was a small group of close friends and family (60 total guests), and seeing all of our close friends and family – some we hadn’t seen in a very long time – coming together and really just having a blast was definitely one of the best parts for us.

Tell us about your flowers, your gown, your favors, your cake, etc. Finding my gown was probably the toughest part of the entire planning process. At the time I was living in New Jersey and working in Manhattan, therefore it was easiest to fly my Mom out to NYC for a wedding dress shopping trip. I had originally assumed I wanted a somewhat flowy bohemian-inspired gown, however boutique after boutique of extremely beautiful bohemian gowns I realized I wanted something completely different. We were down to our last appointment at Kleinfeld Bridal, I was sure I wasn’t going to find anything as all my dreams of flowy dresses had gone out the window on account of my super small (5’1″) frame. I found that I needed something form fitting and wanted some bling.. Eventually I fell in love with my Enaura beaded dress and didn’t want to take it off. It was completely the opposite of what I thought I wanted for our big day but fit the occasion (and me) perfectly.

The flowers were also a special part of the day as I wanted a neutral feel, with some blue and navy accents as well as tropical touches (not an easy order to fill), LaVonne and her team at Adorations did an amazing job! All of my vendors were a dream to work with, we had our blankets ordered and printed through a family friend (and guest!). I think the favors were the biggest hit of the night, we have had a constant stream of requests for extras since our wedding! For our cake (Sweet Cheeks Baking Co.) we knew we wanted nothing but chocolate with white buttercream frosting – and wanted to keep it simple with just florals and no topper as the backdrop of the beach, ocean, and sunset accented the simple but beautiful cake perfectly.

Our reception and dining area were truly unique. I spoke to the lounge area and fire pits previously, but the dining setup was truly a show-stopper with privacy beams and flowy linens set up to help accentuate the relaxed but beautiful beachy feel. The furniture and table accents were perfectly selected to reflect our original aesthetic, and our guests couldn’t stop complimenting our choices!

What is one piece of advice that you could give brides-to-be? I would say if you can definitely hire a wedding planner for more than the day or month of, especially if you are planning a wedding on the other side of the country like I was! Since I was working in NYC and the wedding was in Coronado, CA, Kristi and the Details Details team were a lifesaver. They also truly helped us save time and energy as they already had lists of the best vendors in town and personal relationships with all of them (which helped in a variety of ways). I could not imagine pulling everything off so spectacularly without this support! Also I would definitely recommend multiple dress fittings – by the time I had my first fitting I had moved away from the city and was unable to make a second fitting appointment. I really wish I had as the dress was still a bit big in certain places.

What did you envision your wedding being prior to planning? We imagined a beautiful but very relaxed beachy vibe with lots of natural elements and a breezy light feel – we really just wanted it to be a super fun and intimate party for our guests.

Now THIS is How You Do a Classic New York City Wedding

Bianca and Justin’s celebration gave me chills when I first opened the beautiful gallery from Sally Pinera. The best kind of chills. Their day doesn’t feature a super cool backdrop or a must-pin DIY, but it doesn’t need to. It stands stunningly on it’s own (with ridiculously pretty florals from Ariel Dearie, of course). Classy and timeless, taking a piece of your heart with images like this one, made of pure love (and quite possibly my favorite EVER bride and groom shot). I mean… does it get any better?

From Sally PineraSophisticated. Timeless. Glamorous. Bianca and Justin’s celebration took place at the historic Burden Khan Mansion in New York City. With a sharp sense of style, the pair celebrated with strolls in Central Park, kisses around the hustle of the great city they fell in love in, and an unforgettable gorgeous gala in honor of their amour.

One of the Prettiest Kids’ Birthday Party Themes We’ve Ever Seen

At first, you might mistake this kids party for a mini-sized wedding. I did. It’s just that good. Elegant, yet playful—Shaw Events, Mums Garden Floral and the entire vendor team really outdid themselves with a bunny theme that is just too cute to boot. “Pin the tail on the bunny”? Dead. How ADORABLE? You can bet your bunny tail I’ll be pinning every last detail in hopes it will remind me I need to do this for my son’s spring birthday next year. Please, please make sure to scope out the full gallery from Elza Photographie, because there was just too much sweetness for me to include in all the boards below.

Shaw Events and Tufts and Toile put together a beautiful children’s birthday inspiration shoot. Photographed by the incredibly talented childrens photographer, Elza Photographie. A bunny themed party for a newly minted 4 year old, at the Great Hall in Toronto, shows taking childrens parties to the next level will always be a good idea. This shoot includes a lunch and dessert set up, activity centre and a “gifting lounge”. No detail was missed – and all of the party goers were overly impressed!

Brace Yourself… for ALL the Cute.

We can share the most gorgeous wedding, most expensive fete, coolest DIY, best story ever… and time and again, it’s those adorable fur babies that seem to win over your hearts (and likes) more than anything. From French Bulldogs taking on the role of ring bearers to Goldens joining in for bridal portraits, its easy to see why they steal the show—just have a look at today’s dose of cuteness with For The Love Of Paws for a reminder. There’s no proper word for exactly how sweet this gallery captured by Lauren Dobish and Rachel Buckley is, you’ll just have to melt into it yourself like I did.

From DanielleIncluding beloved pets in your wedding is becoming increasingly popular. As the owner of For The Love Of Paws – a pet coordination business – combining my love for animals and weddings has been a dream come true. In working with a majority of rescue dogs and as the proud dog momma of two rescue pups myself – I wanted to plan a special day to promote awareness of two of my favorites – Baypath Humane Society and Great Dog Rescue New England. What better way than a styled shoot with pups who need a forever home? I reached out to Jessica Hennessey Weddings who was seriously AMAZING in helping to plan, design and coordinate everything.

The shoot took place at the Hopkinton State Park in Hopkinton, Massachusetts. The area was filled with woodland trees and trails, perfect for photos and PUPPIES! All nine of the adorable puppies were from Great Dog Rescue New England. These babies are Staffordshire/Lab mixes and every single one of them are complete and total sweethearts. The distraction factor was real as we tried to get everyone to focus! All of the vendors could not get enough puppy snuggles and kisses.

Ruby, Bosco, Tony, Axel and Penny are all dogs that have been recently adopted from Baypath Humane Society in Hopkinton. Each one of these dogs was so happy with their new family, we wanted to showcase their personalities (…that might have come out a little easier with a wee bit of peanut butter and hot dogs)!

Lauren Dobish and Rachel Buckley did such an outstanding job capturing these pups’ individual personalities that I actually cried when receiving the photos back. The way that both of these ladies were able to showcase the Martina Liana and Willow by Waters wedding gowns was simply magical. These fur babies were glowing next to Flair Boston’s Jenny Yoo and Theia Couture bridesmaid dresses. The floral collars done by Jill and her team at Beach Plum Floral were so perfect. Jessica’s vision for a bright and colorful scene surrounding our couples and animals really came to life. Hair by The Bridal Bar and makeup by Veronica Nunes and Heather Wilson helped beautify our volunteers for a flawless scene! I could go on forever about how amazing all of these vendors and pups are but I think the photos speak for themselves. Not only was this shoot fun but it helped to bring awareness to different rescue organizations and find forever homes to pups in need. My heart is so full and happy to be able to coordinate something so special! Plus, are these pups not too cute for words?!?

Romantic Beach Wedding Nestled in the Hampton Dunes

From Jainé at Brklyn View Photography… Meredith and Tyler’s wedding day started out with the brisk tail winds of a remaining hurricane. Luckily, though, blue skies prevailed and their outdoor beach ceremony ended up being Meredith’s dream come true! Nestled amongst the private beaches in the Hamptons, they exchanged vows in front of close friends and family oceanside — with a breathtaking sunset in the background.

More from Brklyn View Photography … Weather is always unpredictable. When it comes to planning your beachside wedding, you just hope that the forecast is accurate! As grey skies gradually shifted to blue, Meredith and Tyler’s wedding at the incredible Bridgehampton Tennis and Surf Club became an absolute dream come true.  Framed by a stunning crescent moon-shaped altar created by Wildflower Floral Events the couple exchanged vows with the ocean waves directly behind them. The bride wore an absolutely drool worthy wedding gown by Mira Zwillinger — never had a bride looked more radiant than Meredith in that dress!

Their reception was one for the books! Lovely Indeed Events helped coordinate the day and to be sure everyone had a blast. The Sugar Lane Band from Hank Lane had everyone out of their seats the entire time… literally. Meredith and Tyler are incredibly kind, loving and super fun to be around. 10 Things Molly Sims Can’t Live Without

I met Molly a few years back when I interviewed her for AOL Build. Let me tell you a little about her. A. She is STUN.NING. Clearly, because she is a Super Model and all that. But also because her skin glows, her eyes sparkle and she smiles so authentically that you just know she’s the real deal. B. She knows her shit. She may be a fancy pants actress but when it comes to being a guru of product and lifestyle, she is the master. And C. She’s kind. And she’s generous. And she’s a total girls’ girl. So, when she agreed to be the debut guest for our new series 10 Things I Can’t Live Without (not including children), I actually let out a YES! Arm motion and all.

1. Le Labo Edition 13 Perfume

I’m not going to lie—Le Labo Edition 13 is my signature scent. I literally get stopped everywhere I go when I wear it. It’s musky with a hint of something sweet. It’s pricey but definitely worth it!

2. Janessa Leone Phoebe Straw Hat

I’m really picky when it comes to picking the perfect hat. I don’t know if it’s the way my head is shaped, but Janessa’s hats are the only ones that truly fit me.

3. Celine Tortoise Reading Glasses

I don’t go anywhere without these reading glasses and I get more compliments on them than you can imagine! I love that they look chic and not make me feel like I’m wearing readers.

4. Loeffler Randall White Mansur Gavriel Slingback Pump

These shoes are practical and perfect for any event. They’re my go-to shoe this summer when i want a heel but nothing too high.

5. Tracey Tanner Fatty Pouch

These are my hero bags for traveling my toiletries and makeup. Sometimes, I even use it as my going out bag! They’re not overpriced, they’re chic and work for every occasion.

6. Glossier’s Balm Dotcom

This hydrating, long-lasting lip balm is seriously amazing. I use the rose one because it has a very sheer pink tint and has the perfect scent… I mean, who doesn’t love themselves some rose?!

7. Jen Meyer Circle-By-The-Inch Necklace

I love me a classic, elegant gold necklace and Jen Meyer is the place to get it.  This delicate piece can be worn with jeans, a dress, your favorite sweater, you name it.

8. Simon Miller Wide-Leg Frayed Bora Jeans

I LIVE in these jeans. I don’t know what it is, but there’s something about the cut and material that actually makes wearing jeans comfortable.

9. Epicuren’s Kukui Coconut After Bath Lotion

This is a luxurious after bath lotion that exfoliates the skin.  I use it on my legs post shower for a fresh feel.

10. Biologique Recherche Lotion P50

Actually the best toner on the market! My skin has changed all thanks to this product.. and my fatalists, Georgia Louise, Shani Darden and Nurse Jamie!

Extras! I couldn’t leave these off the list:

Viviscal Advanced Hair Health Supplements

I’ve been taking these tablets since I was in my early 20’s and they’re the number one product that keeps my hair think and damage-free! It’s the number one beauty product that I swear by.

8 Greens

I’ve been taking 8 Greens for the past few months and have seen a major difference in my energy levels! Since I travel a lot and don’t eat as many greens as I should, this is the best way to get them all in at once.

Dolce & Gabana Was the Inspiration for this Gorg Wedding

If you took my personality and somehow translated completely into a wedding…this is what I would look like. The lovely photographer, Shannon Moffit, literally never disappoints but this little gem that she sent our way? Yeah, it’s like really good. A splash of modern, a splash of hippie, joy and love and FUN permeating every image. This wedding – designed by Pow Wow with flowers by The Blooming Gypsy – is exactly who I want to be when I grow up. Really cool, without taking myself too seriously. Click here to see the whole gorgeous gallery.

From the bride… It was very serendipitous how it all worked out. We first met on a subway platform; we both missed our trains and began talking as we waited, he was very charming. We never exchanged numbers and I figured we’d never see each other again. Four years later, my company brought him on as a consultant; I recognized him the second he walked into my office. Fast forward one year and he proposed while on vacation in Saint Lucia as the sun was setting behind the Piton mountains.

I work in finance, so designing the wedding became an incredible creative outlet for me. The laid-back, elegant aesthetic of the Avalon Hotel & Bungalows Palm Springs provided the perfect backdrop and destination for our guests – who were nearly all New Yorkers. My vision was inspired by a series of still-life paintings and various Dolce & Gabbana ad campaigns. I wanted a romantic, funky fusion of baroque and boho-Cali styles.

From Shannon Moffit PhotographyHannah and Chris are the type of couple you can’t help but love–they are sweet, fun-loving, and have the most amazing style. Hannah dazzled in a custom Rivini dress, with bell sleeves and intricate lace detail and Chris wore an electric blue tux to complete the ensemble. They said their vows under quintessential Palm Springs palm trees at The Avalon, and danced the night away at their intimate courtyard reception. The space was decorated in a boho-meets-glam style, with gorgeous gem-colored florals, summer fruits, and black tapered candles. Pops of hot pink in the flowers, Hannah’s shoes, Chris’ socks, and the furniture at the reception added just a little bit of quirkiness and pulled it all together.

10 Dresses That Prove Bold + Bright is Beautiful

Can I make a confession? Although I’ll never really grow tired of neutrals, I’m kind of dying to see more color in the wedding fashion world… to see a shift where bold and bright challenge a sea of blush, weddings where brides rock a bright red dress or bridesmaids don beautifully rich blues. Not in an all-up-in-your-face 80’s prom kind of way, but a classy, own-it kind of way. Like THIS editorial, which is one of my favorites to date. So, 2018 and 2019 Brides, I’m looking at you to give me a gorgeous dose of happy hues. Let these 10 fierce fashion moments below inspire you—click on the first image to begin the slideshow!

The Most Stunning Place to Tie the Knot

We’ve featured weddings and inspiration shoots from all over thew world—New York to Paris, Kauai to Bali and everything in between. But today’s unassuming destination selected by Billy Folchetti, founder of Luxe Paris Events for this styled story, is always a refreshing sight. Billy says it best, “The elements that draw us to Morocco are simple—the people first and foremost. The culture is fascinating, the cuisine is divine, and the juxtaposition of 3rd world simplicity with 1st world Luxury is so interesting and beautiful. And the scenery? Stunning.” See it all in the full gallery captured by The Fashion Wedding and the film below by Zen Film Works.

The element of surprise was what inspired Billy Folchetti, founder of Luxe Paris Events, to create this styled story. Not just the “shock value” that comes along with popping the question but also all of the elements that go along with planning a trip to a far-away place full of magical elements that arouse the senses. For some, the idea of a trip to Marrakech – it’s culture, souks, or deserts – might seem “a little too exotic.” Though, it is many times the discovery of “something new” that makes for our most memorable experiences in life.

I fell in love with Marrakech 5 years ago and knew that I needed to show a part of the world that so many are missing. The wedding and event industry, much like tourism, in Marrakech and Morocco has for years has remained a hidden gem. Now that its starting to boom, we really wanted to paint the picture of just how special this place is.

The elements that draw us to Morocco are simple—the people first and foremost. The culture is fascinating, the cuisine is divine, and the juxtaposition of 3rd world simplicity with 1st world Luxury is so interesting and beautiful. And the scenery? Stunning.

Magnificent Austria Wedding Inspired by The Sound of Music

From the Bride… LUCK, What is it? Where do we find it? Does it Find Us? Or Is it always present and we just help nurture it along into something magical, transformative and unforgettable? In essence were we creating LUCK ourselves? For Us it will forever be all of the ABOVE, and Our Wedding was pure spectacle of Just Pure LUCK!!!! See our short wedding film from Angelo La Torre and you will feel it too…

From Angelo La TorreWhat can I say about this amazing destination wedding in Salzburg? It’s always difficult for me to write what I feel in each wedding and tell the feelings that each couple gives me. Saebina, Aaron and their little son Phaethon are really a beautiful family. I could also say that I felt like I’d known them for a long time.

I believe in Love and I believe that there is nothing stronger than Love. The way they look at each other speaks about love; the same way they look at their little child.

Each location of this wedding was breathtaking. The ceremony took place at Mondsee St. Michael’s Church, one of the biggest church in Austria. We had a little couple session on the wonderful lake in Mondsee so close to the church where Saebina lost her veil on the lake, that was such a funny moment for everyone, but fortunately the wind gave it back to us. The magic dinner took place at The Leopoldskron with their family and friends, what a magic place. I felt so honored to be there for their wedding in Salzburg.

More from the Couple…

Our Location: SALZBURG. Many of you might know this city for the birthplace of Mozart, famous Baroque architecture, and the timeless movie ” The Sound Of Music” filmed with its famous backdrops of the east ALPS. The grandeur of the landscape, architecture, feel of its stone lined streets, history, may all seem like a wanderlust of grand sensations worthy of the best Postcards- but Salzburg maintains its unique small town feel and charm. Our goal was to set the tone of an intimate location, and Salzburg delivered a Mozart classical masterpiece. We knew that Our wedding was going to be a once in a lifetime opportunity not just for us, but for our family and friends. It was important for us to bring 2 distinct cultures from both India and the Philippines together and immerse them in the Austrian cultural splendor. Austria was a country 99% of our family and friends had never seen, and Salzburg offered a mystique that could only be appreciated in person and experienced first hand by inhaling the crisp alpine air. The Hills were Truly Alive.

Our Venues: VENUES (3 Day Wedding Event with multiple venues in Salzburg).

Gmaachl Restaurant.  We chose to welcome our family and friends at the Gmachl Restaurant for a traditional Austrian gastronomic experience for our rehearsal dinner. The groom and the best men wore traditional Filipino Barongs custom-made for them in Manila

Schloss Leopoldskron. It was love at first sight. My favorite movie of all time is The Sound Of Music. When we were scouting locations, I stumbled upon the exact property where the movie was filmed. We fell in love with the Schloss and knew this was the only place we wanted to have our wedding reception. It was everything we wanted, and more. It was grand, romantic, serene, one of a kind, a historic site, and played as the location setting for my favorite film. We had to have it.

St. Peter’s Stifftskeller. To honor the Indian culture on day 3, we asked all our guests to wear traditional Indian attire. Lehengas or saris for women, and Sherwanis for men. We had a beautiful lunch at Europe’s Oldest Restaurant.

Mondsee St. Michael’s Basilica. After picking our location we enlisted the help of our amazing Wedding planner Michaela Honies | Elegant Events supported by Stephanie Koeppl | Liebes Dienst to help us find a Catholic Church to hold our nuptials.  Michaela’s second recommendation was the historic . Fortunately for us, the church could accommodate our dates. After a quick “Google” we immediately discovered that the Basilica is most famous for the wedding scene in the movie ” The Sound Of Music”. Walking down the same procession as Julie Andrews replayed thoughts of me as a little child watching the spectacle that I now was recreating exactly for myself. The ceremony was more intimate and special because it was presided by Father Tony, a very dear family friend from India, who traveled from his church in Vienna to Mondsee to bless our matrimony. It is one of the most photographed churches all over the world. In 2009 it was titled ” The Austrian Monument Of The Year”. Everything about the Basilica was beautiful, serene, and God sent. The vision for our wedding was royal, elegant, and filled with surprises.

With the backdrop of Salzburg in our pockets, we designed an unforgettable experience from the time our family and friends arrived, till the time they left. There was a lot of thought put into the level of detail we wanted for each of our unique events. Although, we had a fall wedding, I wanted to compliment the ornate details in the Basilica and reception with floral arrangements in blush, ivory, and gold. Subtle details like non traditionally numbered tables were used as conversational pieces to get friends and family members more acquainted with not only us but each other . We decided to use important dates i. E. 0723 The day we met, 1111 the day Aaron asked me to be his wife, 0113 Our son’s birthday etc. Additionally, we used postcards of all the countries Aaron and I visited together for guests to write special messages on, and mail to us every quarter until our 1st Anniversary.

Austria’s unique culinary delights are something that need to be experienced entirely. We wanted to provide different aspects of the gastronomic experience over the 3 days to ensure our guests would remember, and talk about for years to come. The food, cake, and wine selection was a tedious but amazing experience. We flew back to Austria to taste test every single item, and the culinary experience we delivered did not disappoint. As favors, we chose an amazing Austrian wine for every single guest along with a tin of the famous “Manner” Hazelnut cream filled wafers. We wanted our cake to be modern yet elegant in design, and to for it to taste unlike any other wedding cake the guests had ever eaten flavor-wise. Our baker did not disappoint.

We whisked our guests away half way through the event for spectacular fireworks over the lake. We danced the night away to beats by our DJ Pradeesh from New York. It was a party from start to end. For the Indian day we transformed St. Peter’s Stiffstskeller into a colorful Indian reception. The beautiful colorful flowers mirrored the same floral decorations as those at the famed Mirabel gardens. The music accoutrements included traditional Sitar and Tabla players from Vienna to entertain us, and transform the venue into a crossroads of EAST meets WEST. After a carefully choreographed family photoshoot at Mirabel Gardens between Cinzia and Angelo, we arrived at the Stiffstskeller on a historical horse drawn carriage ride (Fiaker) to the reception of family and friends in ornate, custom garb. A classical dance performance to showcase the artistry of dance was showcased by my cousin to add Pop and Flair. As a token of gratitude, and luck, we gave each guest beautiful, handmade, Indian elephants that were flown in from India.

Due to the fact our Wedding was a Destination wedding, finding and coordinating both a Photographer and Videographer took immense courage, hope, and you guessed it Luck. Cinzia and Angelo were not only true professionals but understood the level of trust we had placed with them from thousands of miles away. It took only one SKYPE call with Cinzia and Angelo and we immediately knew that we could rest at ease. To summarize Cinzia and Angelo’s work into words would be an injustice. Their craft is art, their professionalism is transparent in their work, and most of all it was their Kindness that won us Over!

Angelo la Torre Films . Being in the predicament of finding an international videographer, we went through dozens of professionals but did not feel like we had a connection until we met Angelo. Angelo was a referral from Cinzia, although they had never worked before together. Like Cinzia, after our first SKYPE call, Angelo brought us a sense of vision that was completely aligned with ours. Additionally, his affinity for music and musical background showed consistently in his work. Angelo could tell a story simply with his choice of music. That paired with his cinematography was not only endearing but truly magical. Our goal was to create a wedding story with 3 distinct chapters for each day of the event. Capturing these moments could not only be described through video but also had to be told by music to bring all the emotions, thoughts, and feels that one can easily recall years later. Angelo’s work is inspired perfection. Angelo and Simona were an amazing team to work with. They truly exceeded our expectations with the wedding video they put together for us. There isn’t a single moment tears haven’t rolled down our faces when we go back and watch the wedding footage he put together. Austria is magical in every sense of the word as was Our Wedding.

When Whimsy and Bright Colors Sit Pretty in a Perfect Ballroom

I remember a few of my friends being shocked to hear that another friend was going to wear a ballgown to her beach wedding. I, of course, loved the idea. Because I don’t believe that you HAVE to do anything. While I do believe in using your venue as inspiraton, that doesn’t mean that ballrooms have to be stuffy, beaches have to be casual or barns have to be rustic. Magic often happens when styles don’t make perfect sense and yet, it’s so obvious that they work. Like today’s little slice of inspiration designed by The Wildflowers and photographed by Charla Storey. Click here to see the whole narrative and make sure to check out the rest of the amazing vendors who helped build this moment of pretty!

From the Inspiration Team… Since opening in 1912, The Adolphus has served as a Dallas icon and an integral part of the city’s history and culture. In its recent restoration, the hotel’s storied past is both celebrated and completely reimagined.

With its new bright white walls, gold details, and whimsical abstract art welcoming you through its doors, The Adolphus’ 19th floor ballroom was the perfect space for an intimate, french-style fête. We reimagined the classic romantic tones of red and pink to have a bit more depth with unexpected french blues and lavenders, the wedding fashion to have strong accents of color, taupe as the neutral instead of a classic white, subtle textures of swiss dots and velvet tablecloths, and finally, reimagining baby’s breath to a new level with a rare pink hue. To elevate any event, we think of the classic details that you can enhance in a subtle, yet unique way.

An Eclectic Home in Coastal Connecticut

I first spotted Erin Kestenbaum’s home while binging on instagram and double fisting a big ole glass of red wine. I am constantly amazed at the rabbit hole of incredible bloggers that one can go down and how long I can actually make said binge last (not so much on the vino), finding one beautiful home after another. Anyway, it was this first image below that I fell in love with. The gallery wall just seems like the perfect way to move art in and out and really play with making your home look different. Well guess what? As it turns out, Erin’s entire home is as pretty as this image…and then some.

From Erin…My husband and I purchased our house a year and a half ago and have been remodeling it room by room ever since. It’s a 1940s colonial in a small coastal town on the shore in Connecticut.

Our home is defined by a love of hunting for vintage finds and a fearless approach to hands-on upgrades, where our goal is for our DIY work to always look professional. Stylistically, our house has traditional bones, so we’ve been infusing a modern, fresh perspective that serves to highlight the classic styling in an unfussy way.

The living room is constantly in a state of change: pillows are always in circulation, and the art on the gallery wall is always refreshed. Every time I find a new artist I can’t not have in my home or a vintage piece, it often finds its first home on this wall of gallery ledges. The space is anchored by a teal over-dyed vintage Turkish rug that adds color without overwhelming

With the bathroom on our main floor, I knew we had the opportunity to go bold and surprise (and delight!) guests. To make the most of the existing bead board, I gave it a fresh coat of white paint and added contrast by painting the walls above it a deep, moody black.

Since this is an old house, the ceiling line isn’t the most squared off, so I took the black paint up to the ceiling. The effect is a deceptively expansive ceiling. We also painted the vanity a high gloss black, swapped in a (new to us) faucet off Craigslist, added a bold sconce and a brass pivot mirror. Now, the vintage black and white floors feel fresh in the space.

The sunroom was previously dingy, functionless and sported rundown beige carpeting. With the three walls of sunlight, I knew this room could be a gem in our home with a little “zhushing.” We pulled up the carpet and replaced it with peel and stick tiles in a bold black and white pattern, built out the window seat to mask the radiator and create more function in the space, and painted the walls a bright white. We also sewed the custom French mattress for the window seat from scratch and hung new lighting throughout. This room is now one of our favourites in the house – particularly on weekends, thanks to the bright light and cozy vibes.

When it came to our guest room, we wanted to create a relaxing and inspiring vibe that was reminiscent of a luxe, boutique hotel that guests would want to enjoy. To accomplish this, we first had to address a wonky layout in the room by removing (not original!) basic built-in bookshelves that spanned one of the walls and reframe the doorway to the closet for a smaller opening to allow for a layout that actually worked in the room.

We also added all the trimwork and painted it a handsome all-over grey to match luxe velvet curtains. We added an iconic overhead light to the room and sconces to flank either side of the bed, freeing up limited nightstand surface area. The nightstands were a flea market find of plant stands, that always remind me that sometimes an unconventional furniture choice can be so right.

The guest bathroom was formerly a bland, builder-grade bathroom that had a bizarre layout that allowed for almost no surface area at the vanity. We took this bathroom down to the studs and unlocked so much space by swapping the sink and toilet in the space, doubling the size of the vanity. In keeping with the modern-classic vibes we’ve been adding throughout the house, we tiled all four walls in a classic subway tile and contrasted that with an ornate, elegant Venetian mirror.

We also hung French-inspired globe pendants from the ceiling and capped the space off with a vintage rug. We aim to take risks in areas that can easily be updated later down the road, like in the mirror and pendants that can easily be refreshed, and keep the hard finishes classic choices.

The dining room was one of the first spaces we completed, where before we even moved into the house, I had stumbled upon this vintage Milo Baughman dining table and matching brass cantilevered chairs, which we proceeded to stash in our 700 square foot apartment for two months in advance of our move. The dining chairs were one of our first projects in our previous apartment, which were vintage cane chairs that we reupholstered in this iconic David Hicks La Fiorentina linen fabric. The chandelier was another addition that grounded the space alongside the bold rug. The art was a piece I commissioned from Zoe Pawlak as a gift from my bridal shower.

Coming from years of urban living, the patio off the side of our house was one of the spaces we were most excited about. When it came to decorating the space, I used a black, white and blue palette to keep the focus on the greenery and outdoors. We built the massive 10-foot long dining table from scratch and it allows us to host big dinners and weekend BBQs with ease. We created a seating area for drinks and appetizers and recently added a potting bench to serve as the bar and buffet. The most magical moment is when I turn on the string lights and there’s instant ambiance.
