The Prettiest Mountaintop Wedding We’ve Ever Seen at San Sophia Overlook

Don’t mind us, we’ll be staring at this wedding captured by Hannah Mayson wishing we got an invite ’till the end of time. If you’ve never heard of the San Sophia Overlook before – then you’re in for a treat! An abundance of greenery and white blooms by Dahlia Floral Design lined the aisle as the bride stunned in her Ines Di Santo dress and cape(!!). There are a million things to love about this mountaintop dream planned by Meehan Fee – but if we had to choose just one… it’s the bride’s infectious smile.

After meeting in passing during their college years, Shelton had always had an eye on Alissa but it wasn’t until a few years post grad that he finally asked her to dinner. You could say dinner went well, because that same night he decided to introduce her to his sister and brother in law to get the family ‘stamp of approval.’

Everyone quickly fell in love with Alissa’s vivacious personality and constant smile.

Alissa chose her Ines di Santo wedding gown because she first fell in love with the drama of cape. With bridesmaids in varying shades of blue, they matched the foggy mountain scenery perfectly.

With so much of their relationship history pegged back to family trips to Telluride (and a surprise proposal on charming Main Street!), Alissa and Shelton decided it would be the perfect place to bring their friends and family for a week of celebrating, hiking, fly fishing and golfing.

After the wedding ceremony on the mountaintop, guests took a gondola down to happy hour at the Peaks Resort where they saw the most stunning sunset. Dinner was very classy, with elegant florals and gold rimmed plating.

To spruce up the dance floor area, Meehan (of Telluride Unveiled Wedding Planning) designed the ceiling to be a focal piece of the room, with greenery and lanterns suspended above.

Romantic and Refined Estate Wedding Inspiration at Kestrel Park

If you’re like me and are obsessed with the quaint charm and utter romance of the english countryside (The Holiday anyone?!), then you’re about to fall in love with this Kestrel Park wedding inspiration from Natalie Choi Events. We were shocked when we found out Kestrel Park is located in Santa Ynez… yet another win for the Golden State! A slate blue and peach color scheme gave the floral arrangements by The Loved Co feelings of warmth and tenderness. Every photo captured by Nathalie Cheng Photography is oh-so dreamy. Read on and prepare to be swept away…

Romantic, warm, and intimate are all words that come to mind when I think about Nathalie Cheng‘s photography and Kestrel Park in Santa Ynez was the natural setting to showcase it. The golden hills, charming barn, and English countryside-esque estate of Kestrel Park was the perfect backdrop for this romantic and refined wedding inspiration.

In order to reflect the natural beauty of the lush ground at Kestrel Park, I selected a simple but elegant gown from Alexandra Grecco that featured delicate floral appliques for our bride. Her hair was effortlessly swept up into a low updo, and her natural beauty was accentuated with a makeup look that focused on making her skin look flawless.

Our dapper groom was outfitted in a smart tux, and the simple elegance of our couple was reflected in the invitation suite created by Plume Calligraphy with handmade paper and flowing script.

Their dinner table was set with elements that reflected our organic and romantic design: wooden dinner plates, lace-patterned chargers, and vintage pressed glassware placed atop velvet napkins and a pale blue linen tablecloth. Lush, whimsical florals in peach and honey tones arranged by The Loved Co. adorned our bride and dinner table.

The dove grey cushioned cane-backed chairs added a nod to colonial European style, completing our intimate dinner presentation. At sunset, our couple headed to the golden hills surrounding the estate, and our bride changed into a flowing pale blue gown by Leanne Marshall which glowed in the warm light.

Intimate Greek Wedding at Alemagou in Mikonos

When you choose a location as stunning as the Greek Islands for your Big Day, you don’t need a lot of fluff. The backdrop of the Aegean Sea and the white-washed houses are enough. Just layer on the love. That’s exactly how this Bride & Groom celebrated their union. Thanks to Vasilis Kantarakis Films and Les Anagnou Photographers for documenting it all so beautifully, we get a virtual seat to their intimate I dos.

[iframe http://player.vimeo.com/video/292019064 600 338]

From the Bride… During our annual family ski trip in Austria we went for a forest walk in the snow next to slopes, unexpectedly he suddenly kneeled and asked me if I wanted to make him the happiest man in this world…. Of course, I said YES!

We are both in love with the Greek islands so no debate was needed to decide where we wanted to get married. We wanted to share the Greek purity and Island vibe throughout the entire wedding, from the painted invites, through the ceremony in the most beautiful authentic chapel to the gypsophilia, olive branches and small white wild button roses used for the table decoration during dinner. My mum was the best wedding planner I could ask for. She really understood my vision and helped me elicit the Mykonian blue, the island white and the essence of Greece through all of our wedding elements. Being a jewelry designer myself, I created pieces that were simple and elegant; resembling those fit for a muse. I truly felt like a Greek ethereal existence.

The Greek Orthodox ceremony was definitely the most special moment. The atmosphere created by the hymn song by the priests, the beautiful surrounding and the closest family and friends around us was too special to capture in words. For us this was the way we dreamed to give our commitment to each other to share life until the end of days.

A Venetian-Inspired Gondola Elopement in the Beautiful PNW

Are you dreaming of an exotic elopement location but wishing it didn’t require traveling far and wide to get there? Then try bringing that magical destination romance to your hometown! Today’s shoot from Flora & Whim and Sarah Harris Photography with a knock-out gown from Lovely Bridal Shop is all the inspiration you’ll need – taking the romance of a Venetian gondola ride to the Pacific Northwest… it’s all just too dreamy for words…

I think we can all agree there is nothing quite so romantic as a gondola ride in the canals of Venice with one’s love. The picturesque scene is like something out of a black and white film, classic and idyllic.

Combine that very thing with the scenic Pacific Northwest and you have the most incredible destination for an elopement. The romance of a european affair with all the cozy feelings of being close to home – it’s truly a way to get the best of both worlds.

The beauty of the PNW waters, soft textures, patterned linens from BBJ Linen, gold details paired with a blush pink and soft blue color palette designed by Flora and Whim, and romantic florals also by Flora and Whim were the inspiration behind this styled elopement.

Vintage Luxe San Francisco Wedding at Julia Morgan Ballroom

Planning a wedding is somewhat like buying a house… the idea of it is exciting, the process quite challenging, you will most likely not check off everything on your wishlist, but in the end, it’s the happiest day ever. Having gone through both experiences before, if there is any advice I can impart on you: choose your top three. The three things that you cannot do without. For me, it will always be blooms, backdrop (venue) and photography. Today’s fete from onelove photography and Nancy Liu Chin fulfills every single one.

From the Bride… After Frank and I got engaged, he handed me the reins on creating my dream wedding. As much as I wanted to stick with my 6 year old’s original plans, I wanted Frank to help decide the big questions. He chose to keep things close in San Francisco, and because he loves the heat, he wanted a summer wedding. With those two things in mind, I took off to the races with my Pinterest board!

I wanted our wedding to reflect our love for the City as well as Frank’s heritage in the country. I hoped to be a princess bride but without too much effort. We decided on keeping things classic with a white, gold, light pink theme, showcasing greens, country roses, and dahlias, and bringing a little bit of homeliness to a vintage ballroom.

The flowers were top of mind. I loved working with Nancy Liu Chin for the floral arrangements. When I told her I wanted to keep things clean with whites, pinks, and peaches, she knew exactly how to plan it out. She used the 3 large fireplaces at the Julia Morgan Ballroom to showcase the flowers.

She lined the white isle (which was a MUST for me) with the table arrangements that would be moved. Also, because the ballroom is dark wood, we had a white dance floor that popped. Lastly, she worked with my Mom behind the scenes surprised me by wrapping my bouquet in material from my Mother’s and Grandmother’s wedding dresses.

My best friend, and bridesmaid, gave me the best advice… When planning a wedding with an opinionated mother, have 3 decisions that are yours that will not be changed. Everything else can can go. This saved me, and my Mother, a lot of arguments, and kept things easy throughout the process. A very amazing wedding planner like Julie Dunn didn’t hurt either!

1. I always knew that I wanted to see my fiance at the top of the aisle, and not a second before. Seeing that surprise on his face when I walked down the isle was a moment I will cherish my entire life. Having my father walk me was just icing on the cake.

2. A cherished cousin of mind surprised our guests with a reading from Game of Thrones at the ceremony. Frank and I have read the books, seen the entire series, and dressed up as characters last Halloween, so having a reading that reflects us was important.

3. Last minute I changed the song for our father daughter dance. Instead of a slow crooner, I switched it to a Meatloaf song that my Dad and I have been singing together since I was 5 years old. The energy, dance moves, smiles, and tears flowed when the song came on. He was so happy. The crowd loved it just as much too.

4. Most of my amazing bridesmaids have been friends with me since kindergarten. They requested “Hold On” by Wilson Philips when the dancing started, and we 9 took the dance floor to belt it out. It was truly special.

5. My father’s 1937 Packard made a special appearance at the wedding. It was parked at the entrance for guests to see as they entered, and Frank and I took the most magical pictures in it. As a little girl I told my Dad I wanted it at my wedding, and with the help of my Uncle, it was there.

6. Last but not least were our vows. We wrote them ourselves and they were read from the heart. I am so happy we can relive the readings through our videos, because I never felt so loved than at that moment.

It checks off all the right boxes: classic, playfully elegant, bouquets tied with ribbons à la Sayles Livingston Design… just for starters. And if a dress fit for a princess is on your goals list, you’ll surely fall for this Romona Keveza number. But most of all, it’s the happiest-ever Bride & Groom who steal the show. When you’ve scrolled your heart out, hop over to the full gallery for even more!

From Catherine ThrelkeldJenny and Gary wed on August 25, 2018 in Newport, Rhode Island on the most beautiful and sunny New England day. After visiting Newport regularly for vacation and getaways, the couple recently bought a home in their favorite coastal town. They decided to share their beloved Newport with all of their family and friends by tying the knot at St. Joseph’s Parish downtown. Jenny and Gary wanted the beauty of classic Newport in their wedding portraits, so they decided on The Elms Mansion for photos. The Elms is located right on Bellevue Ave, or “Mansion Row” in Newport. The Elms provided the perfect backdrop for Jenny and Gary’s large bridal party, with 10 groomsmen and 8 bridesmaids. The guys wore classic black suits from Giblee’s, and the bridesmaids wore identical Show Me Your Mumu gowns in Silver Sage. With endless photos opportunities and perfectly hazy sunshine, I focused on the marble fountain and sunken gardens at the back of The Elms massive grounds. The Classic Revival mansion was the perfect backdrop for bridal portraits, with Jenny wearing a classic Romona Keveza Legends gown with delicate lace on the upper bodice. A soft and delicate bouquet from Sayles Livingston Design tied the entire bridal look together. At the reception at Atlantic Resort, 190 guests greeted Jenny and Gary for their first dance song, “Making Me Look Good Again” by Drake White. Opting out of bustling her wedding gown, Jenny changed into a fitted white dress from BHLDN without a train for dancing. TSG Weddings brought their A-game with a wild dance floor that didn’t stop until the end of the night.

Tented Skylands Manor Wedding with Tea Ceremony Tradition

Before we begin, I know a very large handful of you will be on the mad search for this dress. It’s flowy, fluffy and ever-so-elegant. It takes this already-natural-beauty of a Bride to the next level, and is possibly my favorite detail of this day captured by Amanda Watson. You can find it right here in this darling little Etsy shop. Now that we’ve taken care of business, let’s dive into the rest. Pretty details aside (and there are plenty of them), this wedding represents so much more. The Bride is walking us through every bit, interview style, and giving us a look into their traditions, helpful advice and exactly how they wove their heritage in.

Tell us about your wedding! What was the inspiration behind your day? Did you have a specific theme, style or color palette? Did you incorporate any cultural or religious traditions in any part of your day?

Our wedding was inspired by the English garden. We wanted it to be romantic, classic, and dreamy. The colors were blush, white, with a pop of yellow and lots of greenery. I loved the idea of an outdoor wedding and the theme lent itself perfectly to an outdoor tented wedding. We are both Chinese, and incorporated a traditional Chinese tea ceremony into our reception. The tea ceremony is a way to pay respects and gratitude to our elders and symbolizes us entering into a new family.

Let’s talk wedding decor. How did you decorate your space for the ceremony and the reception? Was any part of the decor DIY?

The ceremony took place in the gardens of the manor so it really didn’t need much decorating. Our wonderful florist created a beautiful arch that was our focal point during the ceremony. The sailcloth tent was also beautiful in itself and let in so much natural light. It was decorated with bistro lights. We highlighted the VIP table by renting long farm tables. The signs were DIY-ed using Etsy printables. With the help of a friend, the escort card board was also DIY-ed.

What were the florals like in your wedding? Did you use flowers in any of your design elements like the bridal bouquets, centerpieces or ceremony backdrop? Did they play an important part in the overall style of your wedding?

Florals played a big part in creating the English garden vibe to life and Twisted Willow Flowers did such an amazing job! We used rose petals to line the aisles and also used them to adorn the front rows of the ceremony seats to designate reserved seating. The bouquets were designed to be loose and flowy with a mix of garden roses, ranunculus, peonies, and poppies. The centerpieces tied in our color scheme perfectly and the brass compotes and julep vases brought a vintage feel.

Did you personalize the day in any way? What were some of your favorite parts of your wedding?

Our DJ was one of our favorite parts of the night. We were pretty particular in tailoring our playlist with our DJ to reflect our style and tastes in music. It kept the dance floor busy all night! We didn’t do a lot in terms of extra entertainment because we wanted people to engage with each other directly and wanted the party to be focused on the dancing!

Let’s talk fashion. How did you both choose your wedding day look? Describe the looks in detail.

I spent a lot of time looking for my wedding dress, but ultimately came back to one of the first dresses that I had found online and loved. It was actually from a seller on Etsy, which is why I had been hesitant to pull the trigger initially. But after looking at a bunch of other dresses that just didn’t live up to it; I decided to go for it. It was a beautiful ball gown with a flowing tulle skirt with tons of layers and a delicate lace and beaded top. It was super romantic and made me feel really special and beautiful and tied in with the theme perfectly. Eric and I went shopping for suits together. We loved the look of a deep blue suit and went through a few options before finding this Hugo Boss suit that was the perfect shade. It was less formal than a black tux/suit but still really sharp and classic. At the last minute I convinced Eric to wear a bow tie, and now he loves the way the bow tie looks!

How did you meet? Tell us about the proposal.

Eric and I are high school sweet hearts; we met at a high school house party – super romantic. We were together for 12 years before we finally got married! In 2016 we went on a trip to Copenhagen. Eric took me to a botanical garden which I had begrudgingly agreed to after he had vetoed my plans of going to a modern art museum. Of course when we got there I ate my words, and was gushing at how beautiful everything was. He led me to a bench that sat atop a hill overlooking the grounds – not once, but three times because there was a man sitting at his planned spot, thwarting his plans. Luckily I never caught on until the moment that he got down on his knee and asked me to marry him.

What was the most anticipated or special moment of your wedding day?

The most special moment was during the reception when we were dancing amongst our friends and family and we both took a mental time out from the whirlwind of events that had surrounded us that day and just appreciated each other, all the planning we had done, and the love that surrounded us.

Do you have any wedding planning or marriage advice that you’d like to share with other couples planning their day?

Start early and try not to get too sucked in to the details. Try to pinpoint your style and what you want, and stick to it! I found that the things I found and fell in love with initially were usually the best decisions; the more I spent researching and obsessing, the more confused I would get on what I actually wanted. Also, hire a wedding coordinator! I didn’t have one, but luckily had really great bridesmaids, friends, and an awesome photographer that kept everything on schedule. Also don’t worry if everything doesn’t go as planned; it never does!

How did you balance and blend having your Asian heritage alongside a more Western wedding design?

Although Eric and I both come from immigrant Chinese families, we grew up in New Jersey. So, we definitely identified more with Western wedding cultures. Luckily, our families were flexible and understanding that we would not be incorporating all of the traditions that didn’t feel comfortable to us. For example we skipped doing the traditional “door games” where the groom and his groomsmen go through a series of challenges to receive the bride in her room on the morning of the wedding; because we wanted to have a more intimate first look between the two of us. The tea ceremony was something that we definitely wanted to highlight. Traditionally it is done in private, with close family members. Instead, we did it during the reception so that our guests could experience and be a part of it. Towards the end of the night, we also went around with the bridal party to each table shouting “Gan Bei!” or “Cheers!” which was a fun and boisterous way of thanking and celebrating with all the guests.

Can you tell us a little more about the Tea Ceremony and how you incorporated it into your day?

The tea ceremony was a way for us to pay hommage to our elders, and thank them for their support and love. It also represents us entering new families. The tea is poured by the bride and groom to close family members in order of age. In return we were adorned with gold necklaces, bracelets, rings, and red envelopes with lucky money. The tea ceremony took place on the dance floor during the reception while guests were having dinner, and was narrated by our DJ/MC. That way, those who wanted to watch the entire process could; but you could also have dinner and chat, without feeling obligated to sit through an entire 20 minute ceremony. For the tea ceremony I changed into a beautiful red qipao or traditional chinese wedding dress that my mom had made for me in China. It was really nice to be able to represent both Asian and Western cultures with the two different dresses.

Any other ways in which you added your culture to your wedding? We’d love to hear!

There were a few other cultural traditions that we did in the months leading up to the wedding. Several weeks before our wedding day, Eric’s family came to my family’s home to have tea and brought “betrothal gifts” – Chinese delicacies like a whole roast pig, dried scallops, pastries, candies, liquor, and red envelopes. We also (instructed by Eric’s mom) hung up signs behind our apartment doors with the double happiness Chinese character; and slept with a red comforter for 3 months after the wedding. We had no idea about these traditions beforehand, but they are supposed to bring good luck to our marriage!

Whimsical Wedding with a Neutral Color Palette at The Athenaeum

I can see it now… the grandchildren and great-grandchildren of this stunning Bride & Groom will be flipping through their wedding album, in awe of not only the pure gorgeousness that took place on this day—but of the love that is pouring from each and every image captured by Valorie Darling. That’s why six years later, I’m not tired of weddings. Each one is it’s own, no two are the same, and every story is beautifully unique. Join me, for this one.

From the Bride… Andrew and I met due to the most reliable method of dating – a blind set up, of course! I desperately needed a date to my college sorority invite, and my lab partner was insistent he knew the perfect person for me to take. I met Andrew for lunch before the invite, and he spent the time listening to me nervously talk about my love for chocolate chip cookies, which he claims he found adorable. Once at the invite, we quickly discovered all the random things we had in common – it isn’t often you find another 21 year old who’s favorite show is Frasier – and the rest was history. Andrew and I live in Pasadena, my hometown, and were excited to find our dream venue there at the Athenaeum. The Mediterranean arches and columns gave the space so much character, and worked perfectly with my vision for a romantic evening outdoors. Since we are both “old souls,” Andrew and I shared a desire for a timeless wedding that didn’t feel dated when we looked back on it for years to come. Luckily, I found Leslie Kaplan from Encore Events online, and connected with photos from her previous events. She instantly understood the look I wanted, and worked with me to create a neutral color palette with tulle and an abundance of flowers to create a fairy tale – the wedding of my dreams with every detail perfectly captured by Valorie Darling Photography!

An Elegant Take on Rustic Inspiration with Hues of Butterscotch, Burgundy and Blue

This autumnal inspiration shoot at The Ranch at Birch Creek from Nathalie Cheng Photography and Lindsay Lauren Events just gave a whole new meaning to the word “rustic”. Sarah’s Garden Design’s stunningly unique floral design elevated this ranch venue with a major dose of elegance. The perfect Fall color scheme, a wow-worthy gown and the sweetest dessert table of all time – to sum it up… this one truly has it all!

Inspired by the changing seasons and the picturesque beauty of The Ranch at Birch Creek nestled in Livermore Wine Country for the setting of our inspiration shoot, we sought to create a wedding inspiration for the rustic, elegant bride.

Sheela, of Sarah’s Garden Design, used florals with hues of muted blush, butterscotch, and burgundy accented with autumnal greenery to create a lush and inviting ceremony space designed by Lindsay Lauren Events.

Lindsay created a warm table with lush florals accented with seasonal fruits underneath a trellis overgrown with vines for an intimate dinner. Tabletop rentals from Pleasanton Rentals were highlighted with personalized fruit nests and menus from Aerialist Press.

Our bride was beautifully prepared by Status Salon and Makeup by Adele with loose curls and a subtle, elegant look and adorned in a Rebecca Schoneveld gown from Brides on Hartz. The warm, filtered Livermore light lingered throughout the evening – so perfectly to enjoy a cheese plate prepared by Charming Fig Catering and a slice of cake artfully created by Ma Petite Maison Cake Design.

Ombré Wedding Inspiration Dripping in Heavenly Roses

Roses are red, violets are blue, this ombré inspiration will make all your wedding dreams come true… OK, pardon our amateur poetry, but seriously guys this style shoot from Yuliya Jul Photography and Simply By Bethaina is guaranteed to take your breath away. Moody hues of burgundy and cappuccino combined with peach and neutral tones created the most romantic color scheme for this ombré design. A cascading floral wall by Ochun Studio made for an extravagant ceremony backdrop, perfect for the fashion-forward bride. But that’s enough chit-chat – it’s time to stop and smell the roses…

Every bride wants a sea of roses surrounding her on the wedding day. Burgundy, peach, cappuccino and sand colors, all blending together to create a feeling of walking through an actual rose garden.

The inspiration for this editorial shoot came from the World of Versace Atelier, incorporating moody colors, a fashion inclined bride would love. The suspending wall of flowers by Ochun Studio included the sought-after Koko Loco and Distant Drum garden roses, paired with Quick Sand, Picanto, Cappuccino and Black Baccaras, as well as touches of Chocolate Cosmos, creating an ethereal feel amidst the white walls of the venue.

The minimalist invitation suite from The Arealialist Press included vellum paper with a printed floral theme throughout, and was paired with rose gold calligraphy and hand drawings of the San Francisco City Hall by Letters by Dina.

Later, the ombre design of the suspending wall was incorporated into the guest table, to create a continuation of the floral fantasy theme. A dusty rose velvet linen from La Tavola Fine Linen was a perfect match for the extravagant rose display.

The Lazaro gown, with its floral embroidery and crystal beads, was a perfect complement that brought a touch of elegance to the set up.

Classic All White Wedding at Sherwood Country Club

If Charlotte York married Harry Goldenblatt in a classic country club wedding – it would look a little something like this! Bright-white florals from Unique Floral Designs, a simple, elegant gown and a setting that will never go out of style. Deanna Nash Events planned every timeless detail while Rebecca Theresa Photography documented the day to perfection. Not only is this wedding absolutely gorgeous, it also shares the cutest “how they met” story ever from the bride herself! Trust us, this one is a total must-read!

From the bride… James and I met four years ago as we both were working at the same company. I had quit my “fancy” job in the fashion industry and was now unemployed still living at my parent’s house. My dad made me take this job at an insurance agency, and needless to say, I was kicking and screaming. This was the exact opposite of my fashion job and I did not want to work there. However, little did I know that taking this job, I would end up meeting my future husband.

I recall one of my first days at work- I was at my desk and I could hear James’ loud, booming voice on the phone with a client. I remember being so impressed with how he handled himself on the phone. He was so knowledgeable of insurance and I could tell he truly cared about making sure his client was taken care of. After that, I was introduced to him and I remember I checked to see if he was wearing a wedding band as I thought he was a lot older than me and he had to have been married. I do remember feeling relived to learn he was the same age as me, still in his 20’s. It’s funny to think that I was the one to put a wedding band on him. Fast forward, we started dating, got different jobs and moved in together. After 3 years of dating, he surprised me with a trip to Napa. James is not one for planning trips, so I knew something was up. We were at a vineyard walking around with our wine and James was dead silent. From that, I knew he was planning to propose right here as I could feel his nervousness. I then was extremely nervous too, so both of us were walking around in silence like total strangers. He then found an area where no one was and he got down on one knee and popped the question. I was so excited and relieved that we could go back to being ourselves and the nerves were over!

I immediately stated wedding planning and working on my vision. It was important to me to have a wedding that was timeless and classic. I love white as I feel it’s so fresh and clean and I would have totally had an all-white wedding. But I ended up incorporating some blush and champagne to add some dimension. My venue, Sherwood Country Club, really played a huge role in my vision. The club is the definition of traditional and classic with its red brick and white columns – so I really wanted to play off that. I was having a hard time finding a dress that fit the bill as I kept trying on princess style dresses that just didn’t seem right.

I finally stumbled upon this classic, all satin, elegant dress and knew this was the type of dress I wanted. I paired it with this gold metal Romona Keveza belt and I loved the overall look! However, this dress was not the “one”, but I knew the belt was. From here, I kept trying on similar dresses in this style and the belt was the necessary accessory that had to work. I think it was a little untraditional to pick out your belt first, but I loved it so much! It gave me Charlotte York, Upper East Side vibes, that I just loved. After, trying on countless of dresses in this traditional style, I found the one from Estee Couture and the belt fit perfectly. My dress made me feel confident and fashionable. With this classic dress and classic venue, I knew that James also had to look the part as well. I immediately knew I wanted him to wear an ivory dinner coat instead of the traditional black. There was something just so elegant about this, that I loved! Now that I nailed down our attire, I added in champagne and gold details to my vision to play off the belt.

My invitations had a bold gold border, there were gold chivari chairs, champagne napkins, gold easels and my bridesmaids wore Jenny Yoo champagne dresses as well. I was happy to see everything come together and it looked so beautiful and nothing was over the top! I had a fear that my wedding was going to read too gold, but it didn’t at all! At the end of the day, all I really wanted was my guests to enjoy themselves in a pretty setting as James and I danced the night away as husband and wife and we did just that!

What Garden Wedding Dreams Are Made of at Hummingbird Nest Ranch

When it comes to venues – California can truly do no wrong. Today’s *super* adorable couple tied the knot at garden wedding heaven, also known as Hummingbird Nest Ranch (even the name is too cute!!) You need to see these gorgeous photos taken by Esther Sun Photography, if not just for the golden state-inspired escort card display that could easily break Pinterest records. All-star vendors, Sarah Park Events and CCL Weddings, came together to create this bride and groom’s dream wedding day – and we’re lucky enough to be able to share all the magical details with you!

From the bride… We wanted our wedding to really be a reflection of us, two small town Californians with crazy Asian families! And nothing felt more “us” than an intimate ceremony… Of 200, farm-to-table family-style under the stars and glow stick dance-offs late into the night.

Every detail was thoughtful, thanks to our team of super talented vendors! It was like they took the feelings I feel most when I am with Adrian – natural, warm and an all-consuming kind of fullness – and turned those feelings into the backdrop of a truly unforgettable day.

The crazy good Asian-inspired cocktails, the dreamiest florals lining the ceremony aisle, a three-tiered wedding cake, each with a different flavor because we just couldn’t choose one… I could go on. Our designer, Sarah Park, took all our scattered ideas and brought them to life in a way that felt tailored to us, but also insanely chic.

Our coordinator and personal superhero, Maggie Li of CCL Weddings, executed our day so effortlessly, there was never a moment we weren’t completely present with our friends and family.

Our amazing photographer, Esther Sun, documented it all – the big moments, the small moments and the moments in between – so beautifully and sincerely, it makes my heart explode!

There were so many favorite moments, but the ones that stand out most were honoring our families in a Chinese tea ceremony, losing ourselves in our vows, and stealing a pre-first dance when no one was looking (or so we thought!). It was everything we could have hoped for, and then some.

Glamorous Black + White Downtown Seattle Wedding at The Rainer Club

Winter weddings are officially upon us and that means we’re turning up the charm. Today, it comes in the form of a glowing candlelit reception, a palette dressed in black and white (and a little gold for good measure), hydrangeas so fluffy they look like cotton candy, the coziest throws to stay warm during the I dos and so much more. It’s those tiny details that Valley & Co. dreamt up for this Bride & Groom, that made a big impact on their classically glam day. And thanks to O’Malley Photographers, we get to experience every bit as if we were there.

From Valley & Co.Nestled in between new skyscrapers in downtown Seattle is the most quintessential of Seattle properties: The Rainier Club. We started working with Nina and Matt about 18 months before their wedding and knew after visiting their home (also in a century-old brick Queen Anne building) that they wanted to give their guests an unexpected experience with decadent, yet classic and understated tones. Nina, so sophisticated and lovely, knew that a dance party was next on her list in terms of importance, right under the ambiance and great food, so The Rainier Club was the perfect setting.

They gave us carte blanche to truly surprise them with every turn – we knew they both really adore winter and that Nina is enamored with white hydreangeas, so creating a breathtaking ceremony that carried those favorites through was really important to us. Nina and Matt envisioned a black tie wedding but also wanted a high level of comfort and fun, down to the late night delivery of Dick’s Drive-In cheeseburgers (a Seattle staple!). Nina works in non-profit now, but had her heels in the wedding industry for years, working at Seattle Metropolitan Bride and Groom Magazine. Matt is an attorney, and they wanted everything to feel balanced and fresh – while peppering in those unexpected details and fun.

We welcomed guests with champagne and whisked them up the old gold elevators where the ladies each chose a cozy shawl, perfect for the blustery February afternoon. After each scene of the wedding, we transformed each room with different layouts and lighting, welcoming guests back for dinner into a cozy and enchanting wintry dining room. They were then whiskey downstairs for cake and desserts and – dancing! One of the most unexpected elements was the leaf pattern we projected onto the building over the valet entrance – we watched from above as guests departed in their taxis and Ubers and snapped photos!

Three Steps to Eco-Friendly Welcome Gifts Your Guests Will Love

We know that piecing together the perfect welcome gifts for your guests can seem a little daunting – especially if you’re determined to make those gifts as eco-friendly as possible. Sure, we can all toss some trinkets in a basket and call it good, but sourcing products that are thoughtful, useful and also happen to make Mother Earth happy? Sooo worth it. See three steps to an easier, greener hello below.

KEEP YOUR GUESTS HYDRATED, THE RIGHT WAY

Any wedding guest ever will tell you that water is an absolute necessity – and if you are planning the party of the century (like we know you are), you’ll want to make this your number one priority. Our latest obsession, Boxed Water, totally checks this off the list and does it in a way that looks stunning and is also good for the planet. Think 100% recyclable packaging produced with paper that is sourced from well-managed forests. Yep, no BPAs or phthalates in sight. Plus, it goes through an 8-step purification process, so after all the dancing and bopping around town your guests will be doing for the entire weekend, they can sit back and rehydrate with some of the best water ever. It makes our hearts happy just thinking about it.

REDUCE YOUR CARBON FOOTPRINT

Going green means reducing that carbon footprint as much as possible and shopping locally is a really great way to do it. It’s also a no-brainer, really, since your welcome basket should be filled with items that will give your guests a sneak peek at your weekend itinerary. We suggest sourcing products from your favorite hot spots (like candles or wine) and also filling those baskets with items your city is known for, like huckleberry jam or honey from the local farmer’s market. Can’t get everything right on Main Street or want to include some faves that aren’t local? No problem – your welcomes should include items that are special to you as a couple, too. Just remember to use vendors that keep that carbon footprint to a minimum.

CHOOSE ITEMS YOUR GUESTS CAN REPURPOSE AND REUSE

Welcome gifts are the very first impression your guests will have of your entire celebration, so it’s important to get it right. That means skipping all of those throw-away items that fill up your baskets easily (but don’t really have much meaning) and tapping into your environmentally-conscious self by choosing products you know your guests will actually use. Bonus points for including goodies they can reuse, repurpose and recycle. Think your fave bottle of champagne, candles in ceramic jars they can fill with a tea light later and Boxed Water, which can totally be used as a vase for all of those leftover flowers post-reception, and then sent off to the recycling bin later.

Photography: @allglitterz

Ready to dive into those eco-friendly welcome baskets your guests will never stop talking about? Start with Boxed Water. It tastes good, is good to the earth and comes in three different sizes, so it will fit whatever presentation you need it to. Trust us… it truly is better.

A Grand Coral Beach Club Wedding with Cotton Candy Hues

As the days get shorter and the temps get chillier, this wedding planned by Fresa Weddings Mexico was just the medicine we needed to warm our hearts and brighten our spirits! This gorgeous day captured by Krystle Akin is best described as the epitome of a perfect beach wedding. The color scheme reflects the cotton candy hues of a tropical sunrise… the flowers by Vanessa Jaimes Floral Design are to die for… and the outdoor reception sparkles under endless rows of string lights, honestly what more could a girl ask for?!

The bride couldn’t have looked more beautiful in a sheer Martina Liana dress with matte, floral lace. It was the perfect mix of sexy and romantic for their tropical beach ceremony.

Jas and Erika met back on December, 21st 2012, or as the Mayan’s would say… The end of their beloved calendar and our world. The Mayan’s may have been wrong about the end of the world, but we like to think they were spot on with predicting the beginning of something great with Jason and Erika.

Erika was in her 3rd year of medical school and she was doing a rotation in Kalispell, MT (Jason’s home town). Jason lived in Southern California at the time, but was home visiting his family over the Christmas break and 12/21 also happened to be his sister’s 21st birthday, so he and his siblings, friends, cousins all decided to go out and celebrate this grand occasion.

While sailing in the British Virgin Islands with six of their best friends, Jason popped the question on a boat. In keeping with the tropical tradition, they planned a destination wedding with the help of Fresa Weddings in Mexico. They exchanged vows beside the Gulf of Mexico and danced the night away beside the beach with 60 plus of their friends and family.

Vanessa Jaimes Floral Design created lush floral runners full of light pink roses, eucalyptus and gorgeous amaryllis that truly made the reception come together so perfectly. As you can probably tell, Erika was absolutely stunned at the results – it was even better than what she had dreamed of.

A Garden Wedding at the Dallas Arboretum with a Modern Twist

A few days ago, we shared this Dallas Arboretum wedding from Jeff Brummet Visuals and Bella Flora of Dallas on our LBB Blog — but we had a bit of a scheduling snafu. We knew, we just had to feature it again, because it’s filled with so many lovely moments and has so many beautiful bridal portraits (plus a really great proposal story). The full gallery is loaded with #HangOnTheWall portraits — and then, when you bring in the fluffy white pup (queue the pup pic!), well, you know how we feel about that! Here are our top six #DontMissPics … *DropDeadGorgeous bridal portraits:   here + here + here | *The Dress with Off The Shoulder Lace Sleeves and… #ChangeItUp to Strapless! (WinWin – right?) | *Garden Vibes in Texas with an unexpected South African flair (for goodness sakes – the groom had malaria when he proposed!) You have to Watch the film from Brendan Williams. Guaranteed love | *And last, but dare we say not-at-all-least, a modern day #GoingAwayOutfit that tops our list of oh-so-cool surprises (aka, a jumpsuit)! [I think that might have been seven.] Anyway, we’ll start with one of those beautiful a-ha-portraits…

From Lauren, at Style Me Pretty… Who said garden weddings have to mean flower crowns, wooden signs and casual flair – this wedding is the perfect example of how to dress up your garden wedding venue in a sophisticated, modern style. With planning by Laura Mayfield, flowers by Bella Flora of Dallas and photos from Jeff Brummett Visuals – it’s no wonder this wedding is a total winner! Two things I’m obsessed with from this day? 1. The bride’s super fun jumpsuit for the reception 2. One seriously celeb-worthy wedding cake from Elena’s Cakes. See it all in the full gallery!

From the photographer, Jeff Brummet…  Callie and Lorne have such an amazing story. Callie, from Southlake, Texas and Lorne, from South Africa, met while attending Texas Christian University in Fort Worth.

They both share a love for Africa. When it came time for Lorne to pop the question, he knew it had to be at one of their favorite places. The Ngorongoro Crater in Tanzania. The area is a World Heritage Site and is home to a wide variety of wildlife and landscapes. After a morning safari, Lorne, who was sick with Malaria at the time (!), brought Callie to a spot on the wall of the crater overlooking the entire preserve.

Callie and Lorne exchanged vows in the Lay Family Garden, surrounded by family and friends from around the world. Afterwards, everyone settled in for the most stunning outdoor reception. This gorgeous dinner was set overlooking White Rock Lake.

As with any great Dallas Arboretum wedding, everyone danced away the evening under the stars before a sparkler sendoff. I can’t say enough about how great it was to get to know this wonderful couple and all their loved ones.

And as we mentioned, we know you’ll love watching this highlight film from Brendan Williams… you’re sure to feel the South African vibe!

Step Inside an Austin Home That Pairs Cozy Neutrals With Loads of Art

If you are a sucker for warm neutrals, perfectly edited closets and the best vintage rugs, get ready to fall head over heels in 3, 2, 1. Anastasia Casey is not only the Founder and Creative Director of The Identité Collective, but she is also an interior design mastermind. Evidence below! Step inside her crazy cool Austin home captured by Madeline Harper and just try to pick a favorite vignette. It’s impossible.

From Anastasia…When we bought the house, the walls were mocha frappachino color (ceiling too) and the guest room was blood red. We painted everything white to let the dark floors really shine. The natural light in the house really is as bright as it looks, and I wanted to focus on that.

I’d say my style definitely has mid-century vibes but in a minimal, natural way. I wanted things to be neutral so I could let our art collection shine through. I used lots of woven grasses and jute paired with honed marble to juxtapose each other.

My art collection has really been my pride and joy in this house. So much of it is from the 40’s in Paris while my grandmother was working for the government there. Small oil painting I’ve picked up on my travels with photographs from our honeymoon + other vacations layer to make such a sweet sentiment.

I also love the line illustrations from Hannah Robinson Design in the family room – they’re so minimal and striking. I feel so lucky to have such talented friends. My favorite accessories came from my grandma, too. Hand carved olive wood bowls from Italy, the antique dough bowl in on the family room table, even the Turkish towel thrown over the chaise in the living room. We were incredibly close and even though she never got to see us buy our first house, I know she’s watching us here every day.

Our set of mid-century folding chairs were $100 on Facebook market place. They’re the focal point of the entire first floor and everyone always wants to know where they came from.

The months after buying the chairs, I stumbled upon the matching foot stool at the Alameda Antique Fair for $12. They were a perfect match when I brought it home. Stories like that make our house feel special.

All our Turkish rugs are from The Southern Loom. She sources the BEST 18th + 19th century pieces at great prices. I love the way the entryway art project came together, too. The builder-basic house had one of those awful “niches” in the wall that we didn’t have the budget or patience to remedy. So I hung wooden cones on twine from cup hooks and now it feels like a real art installation.

My favorite spaces are the living room downstairs and the office/closet. Downstairs feels so bright, airy and inviting. It’s such a pleasure to spend time down there with warm sun coming in through the 10 foot windows.

Upstairs, the new closet/office space is my new favorite! I love being able to enjoy my wardrobe and use an otherwise wasted sitting area of our bedroom in a productive way.

Berry + Pink Southern Wedding Inspiration at McAlister-Leftwich House

This, my loves, is my dream color palette. I went with something slightly similar for my own wedding—and if I could do it all again (to my husband, of course!) I’d try to replicate this exact combination of hues. It’s really perfect for any time of year, but it sings so beautifully to fall and winter. With the floral genius of Eliana Nunes, every single bloom is woven together to create the loveliest array of berry, pink, blush, peach and golden ivory. Join me in the full gallery captured by Hillary Muelleck to start off your Monday-after-a-long-weekend just right.

From the vendor team… Fall has taken a whole new direction in this southern charm wedding inspiration. With the newly revitalized McAlister-Leftwich House as our backdrop, its North Carolina colonial architecture mixed with fall vibes really influenced a new color palette this season. We wanted to keep the fall feeling without overusing warm tones.

Eliana of Eliana Nunes Floral & Event Design kept things soft and romantic when choosing linens, place settings and flowers, with stunning arrangements in the ceremony florals, table landscape, and cozy candlelit fireplace display. While using soft muted tones in the cappuccino roses and peach ranunculus, she also added touches of deeper hues by incorporating the blue viburnum berries and burgundy ninebark foliage.

Priya of Piachella Calligraphy designed and calligraphed all the paper goods using a handmade paper, wax seals, and painted envelope liners to add that perfect hint of texture. Jeanne of Artsy Cakesy crafted a stunning three tiered cake with painted detail up the side in addition to a mix of gum paste greenery and gold floral accents for added warmth.

Katie and Laura of Blush and Bobby’s composed the most timeless makeup look which was also complimented with a romantic updo. In keeping with the elegant and romantic theme, a gown with intricate beading throughout the bodice and flowing skirt from Dashing Dames Bridal was the perfect fit. We also couldn’t pass up working with Lauren from L. Priori Jewelry for some truly unique rings including a remarkable moonstone engagement ring.

Hillary Muelleck Photography  felt that using film photography would best translate the rich colors as well as the overall romantic feel our team had envisioned. For the bride and groom who want a fall color palette while still keeping things soft and rich, look no further!

There’s just something so dreamy about getting married on the beach – romantic wind-tousled hair, that feeling of warm sand on your toes and the only distractions being peaceful sounds of the ocean waves… let’s be honest, it’s pure bliss! Today we’re celebrating our love for seaside nuptials by sharing the most gorgeous Sayulita wedding at Villa Del Oso from Christie Graham Photography. Leave it to Marweddings and the beautiful bride (who’s an interior designer herself and owns her own design firm) to plan every awe-worthy detail, from the sandy ceremony to the tropical, string light-filled reception. Keep on reading to find out everything you need to know about this charming day, including where you can buy the bride’s STUNNING (and affordable!) wedding dress!

Guests gathered on the beach for Jamie and Houston’s ceremony- live music & local cocktails welcomed everyone and set the mood for this elevated beach celebration.

Jamie looked so effortlessly stunning in her Truvelle gown featuring delicate beading, open sides and double straps – perfect for the laid back setting.

Exposed wood, lush florals, woven mats, white linen, lounge vignettes and endless candles all came together beautifully and fit perfectly against the beautiful backdrop of Sayulita. Stylish decor, playing off the natural beauty of the region, was a focal point for the couple. Jamie and her graphic designer, Lianne Chang, spent countless hours dreaming up a color scheme, designing a mood board and reviewing every detail of the wedding to perfection!

Guests flew in from all around the world, and Jamie and Houston wanted their wedding to feel relaxed at first, then gradually the party would (inevitably!) get going under a canopy of lights.

Marweddings planned and designed every flawless detail of this seaside affair. Guests enjoyed an open-air reception on the grass with the soothing sound of ocean waves in the background.

All in all, Jamie and Houston’s wedding day couldn’t have been better! The night ended with lots of sandy toes, happy hearts and a bright sky full of stars.
