Burgundy and Blush Winter Wedding at Montage Palmetto Bluff

We’re just going to put this out there – South Carolina’s low country is one of the most romantic places in America to tie the knot. Century-old oak trees cloaked in Spanish moss, riverside views and charming white chapels on every street corner… how could we not fall in love?! Today’s winter wedding captured by Dock House Digital and Ashley Seawell Photography at one of our favorite venues in the South, Montage Palmetto Bluff, is all sorts of romantic. From the burgundy bridesmaid dresses to the elegant bouquets by August Floral Design to the cutest trolley ever – every inch of this wedding is straight out of a storybook. Go on now, scroll on south!

Amanda and Chase’s wedding was elegant in the surroundings of the South Carolina lowcountry at the Montage Palmetto Bluff. The bride and groom decided that this area would be the perfect wedding location as it provided a destination wedding location that wasn’t too far from home.

They were excited to bring their family and friends to a space that was peaceful and filled with natural beauty. The team at Meagan Warren Weddings helped the couple to plan their wedding from a distance.

Before we go any further, you have to see this amazing video from Dock House Digital of Amanda and Chase’s day!

More from the photographer… The warm hues of burgundy and blush were perfect for this winter wedding. How gorgeous did Amanda’s bridesmaids look in their burgundy dresses from Theia?!

The ceremony took place in the Somerset Chapel at Palmetto Bluff. The reception followed at the Oldfield River House, overlooking the Okatee River. Following dinner, guests danced under a clear tent among the pristine oaks.

Rustic Meets Glam at This Devil’s Thumb Ranch Wedding

Sometimes I wish we could grab hold of the Fall season and make it stay here forever, along with the inexplicable magic of fall weddings… but for now, we’re savoring every last bit! Today we’re sharing a gorgeous Rocky Mountain wedding captured Laura Murray Photography and planned by Milk Glass Productions that is the definition of “ranch glam” (can we make this a thing please?!)  This gorgeous day is complete with blooming dahlias in shades of pink from Siloh Floral, glittering marquee lights and the cutest golden retriever we just want to squeeze through the screen. Don’t miss out on all the adorable, must-see moments below!

From the Bride… Rachel and Zach are college sweethearts. They met by learning to scuba dive at Rollins College in Winter Park, FL. They immediately bonded over live music, traveling the world and enjoying some good ‘ol southern food. Zach is a New Orleans Native and Rachel, a Florida native. They now live in Denver, Colorado with their dashingly handsome golden retriever, Louie. You can now find them skiing the Colorado Rockies in winter or enjoying a Red Rocks show in the summer with friends.

After 7 years of dating, Zach and Rachel got engaged on a snowy April day at The Broadmoor in Colorado Springs, CO. Rachel’s secret wedding Pinterest board was now a dream ready to become reality! They knew they wanted to enjoy their engagement and not rush into planning, so they took a year and a half to carefully plan their dream wedding in the Colorado Rockies. After choosing date in the fall on September 30th, they knew the venue at Devil’s Thumb Ranch in Tabernash, Colorado had it ALL! In close proximity to Denver, their friends and loved ones could enjoy a destination wedding only 1. 5 hours from the city, while still feeling worlds away from ordinary life.

The Ranch had the elegant, romantic and rustic Colorado atmosphere they were looking for. Our wedding planner Carly was a bride’s dream come true, she’s a wonder woman who can make anything possible. She was with us from the start and became a good friend along the way. Her careful attention to detail and concern for our each and every need was irreplaceable. We couldn’t have done it without her!

Zach and I tired hard to stay true to ourselves and really make our wedding day unique and meaningful for everyone. Our most important elements were 1) great live music! 2) beautiful venue and atmosphere 3) gourmet food that represents our roots. That’s us in a nutshell. Simply Irresistible, our band from Atlanta, GA made the party a night to remember forever! Everyone, and i mean everyone, danced till midnight- nonstop! The design and decor by Siloh Floral Artistry and Eclectic Hive was incredible…. Something from a fairytale.

Our photographer Laura Murray was a rockstar and captured our entire day flawlessly, while pregnant with twins!! After all the dreaming, pinning, planning, and tasting our big day was here. The weekend was planned perfectly, from the intimate, romantic family dinner in John L’s wine cellar, a welcome pig roast bbq at Axel’s pavilion for all the guests, horse back ride through the aspens, girls spa day at the Ranch Creek Spa, boys golf excursion at Pole creek golf club, and of course the wedding day! A farewell brunch was a perfect ending to a long weekend eating drinking and dancing with loved ones.

Country Music Artist April Kry’s Tennessee Wedding (+ Budget Breakdown!)

We usually serve up all the gorgeous inspiration in hopes that you will find a few details to make your own on your Big Day. But today, we’re also getting a peek into the real budget breakdown of wedding! The stunning April Kry’s wedding, that is. From cost-saving “swaps” to the best advice for budget savvy brides, April is sharing a bit of behind the scenes on how her own beautiful Briar Rose Hill fete fit right into their planned budget. Once you’re done scrolling every perfect image from Tracy Burch, grab your pen and paper and get ready to take notes! And PS…HAPPY THANKSGIVING!!!

What was your overall budget? 33k

Did you use a budgeting software to stay on track? If so, what percentages did you allot to each category? Yes, we used wedding wire primarily, and their recommendations for our area.

What was the budget breakdown for your wedding?

Venue: $18k (included planning, food, DJ, rentals, cake, flowers, package add-ons for food/decorations/flowers)
Alcohol: $2k
Transportation: $2. 5k
Save the dates/Invitations: $1k
Photography: $3k
Attire: $1. 5k
Rings: $2. 5k
Pastor: $600
Gifts: $600
Hair/Makeup: $250
Misc: $1k

What were the most important “must-have” elements for your wedding? Photographer, Tuscan themed menu options and full bar

What are your tips for the best cost saving “swaps”? I used a “sample shop” to purchase my dress. It was roughly half the cost of the retail price. Also, choose a venue with an all inclusive package. Inquire what the package actually includes. Ours had an array of decoration choices and included all of the basics, as well as flowers, decor, planning, food, dj, rentals, etc. Go with a venue that will allow you to host your own bar, Purchasing your own alcohol significantly reduces price.

What did you DIY? Any good sources for supplies and material? We DIY’ed ourWedding favors, our bread bar and all of the special signs.

What was your most memorable moment from your wedding? The communion at our ceremony. A very intimate and special moment.

Any fun or quirky details that you infused? Everything was tuscan themed. We have a great love for Italy and definitely incorporated that into our wedding.

Biggest budget regrets? We ordered two buses for transportation to make it easy on our guests but probably could’ve just done one bus!

Best advice for budget savvy brides? Don’t overthink every little detail. Choose your top three music haves and put most of your focus on those. The rest will fall into place!

Bringing a Rich, Fall Color Palette to a Bali Wedding at Amanusa

Fall and Bali aren’t a common duo but one look at this day so beautifully captured by Erich McVey + a film by AXIOO Bali and you are going to forget that tropical locales and stunning autumnal color palettes don’t usually go hand in hand. Not to mention that this affair was planned in a mere two months (!!!) The awesome team of vendors including design by Flying Bride, planning by Luxury Weddings Indonesia, florals and decor by Rose and Willow, and stationery by Veronica Halim deserve a major standing ovation. FULL GALLERY

From the stylist…Xiaomin and Hao’s wedding was one beautiful wedding that we managed to design and execute within a short 2 months wedding preparation. Inspired by the color of autumn as they started their relationship during one fine autumn day, and using fresh fruits in the arrangement as the bride is a food nutritionist who is passionate about healthy living, the wedding combined an interesting color palette with fresh fruit as part of its arrangement.

The stationery has watercolor of falling leaves in the color palette to match the whole autumn love story. Not only the stationery, but every little detail of this wedding was customized to make the wedding feels extra special. Like the silk ribbon that we custom ordered in a specific shade to match the color palette of the wedding.

We used the custom silk ribbon not only for the bridal and bridesmaid bouquet, but also to tie the hand fan for ceremony and the linen pouch that holds potpourri for the flower shower.

The bride told me that in Chinese tradition they must give something sweet like candies and chocolates to the wedding guests. Since she herself is a nutritionist and a foodie, she wants to provide her guests with her fave high quality dark chocolate from Royce.

Instead of providing candies we put a few of the individually wrapped dark chocolate inside a linen packaging in delicious candy shape, wrap them with paper that has the wedding “autumn leaves” drawn in watercolor and then each “Candy” was hand calligraphed with the guest’s name before finally tied with the custom color silk ribbon. Such a lovely and thoughtful gift given to each guest that served as the wedding place card as well.

Last but not least, we also sprayed the bride’s favourite perfume on the wedding day and gave out room spray with the same scent as souvenir for the guests so as the guests spray it at home, they will be brought back to the memories of Xiaomin and Hong’s beautiful Bali wedding.

Modern French Wedding at Chateau Courcelles Le Roy

My friends, this is what you get when you blend the charm of a classic French chateau with the prettiest modern vibe. It’s a wedding that will pull you in and hold you there for a while, thanks to Amy Fanton‘s work behind the lens and Loli Events on planning. The venue itself will lure you in with it’s historic beauty, the Bride & Groom will strike your heart with their warm, beautiful love and every detail woven in between is sure to capture your attention. The writeup below includes some must-read moments that you might also want to steal! Make sure to take a peek when you’re done in the full gallery.

From Amy Fanton PhotographyThis American couple met in Washington DC, got engaged while living in London, UK, and tied the knot in an intimate celebration in the French countryside of the Loire Valley!

The couple initially stumbled upon Chateau Courcelles Le Roy on Airbnb while looking for a place that could accommodate as many guests as possible, as so many of them were coming from so far away. They Chateau was perfect as it offered beautiful natural scenery including walking trails, a private chapel, a lake, and gardens.

The bride chose an elegant Maggie Sottero gown with lace detail and a keyhole back, complimented with a braided updo by Storme Webster and fresh, natural makeup by Sylwia Kunsz. Dusty blue suede shoes served as the bride’s ‘something blue’ and tied her look her look into the overall color scheme.

The styling for the wedding was inspired by the rustic greenery of the French countryside. Thistle, succulents, white wax flowers and berries were complimented with a palette of dusty blue, geometric copper details and wooden elements, to give an elegant, modern feel. Chandeliers were adorned with natural greenery to bring in as much of the countryside as possible, with the goal of creating a warm and natural environment without being overly elaborate or distracting.

The blue and copper stationery from Franchette Atelier took cue from French wine labels and used a blend of text and calligraphy. Franchette Atelier also created a beautiful sign that was displayed during the ceremony encouraging guests to turn off their phones and mobile devices. The guests were treated to luggage tags that doubled as escort cards and favors with the words ‘Bon Voyage!’.

Involving their guests in the wedding was very important to the couple. The groom’s grandfather officiated the ceremony, and during the ceremony guests passed and braided a rope as a symbol of their support of the couple’s marriage. The couple finished off the braid and mounted it onto a wooden board, which is now displayed in their home. The couple also displayed photographs from their guests’ own weddings, thanking them for their example and honouring all of their marriages (some as long as 65 years!).

Mother Nature’s Showing off in This Gorg Montana Wedding at 320 Guest Ranch

The mountains are calling and we must go – today we’re sharing a wedding from Susan K Adams Photography that every mountain-bride needs to see for some steep inspiration! Montana made for the most breathtaking scenery for the couple’s ceremony, complete with a circular wedding arch by Labellum that we seriously can’t stop staring at. We love the fact that the groom favored getting married at 320 Guest Ranch because of it’s rustic look, so the bride incorporated her sophisticated style to the décor – their contrasting styles came together to create the most perfect mountain wedding ever. See for yourself!

Let Mama Earth shine. Don’t try to overpower her because you’ll never succeed, especially not in Montana. As a designer by trade, the bride Alex and groom Dylan knew they had an incredible task at hand designing their wedding spaces in the beautiful Gallatin Canyon. The couple met in Bozeman during college and stuck around after graduation because it’s nearly impossible to find an opportunity more tempting than living, playing, and working in Montana. Dylan fly fishes and hunts in his spare time and Alex designs beautiful interior spaces in the mountains, so a wedding by the river tucked away in the mountains was the perfect fit. They fell in love with the beauty of the Gallatin Canyon (think Big Sky and West Yellowstone access) and chose the 320 Guest Ranch to provide their guests, all coming from other states, the perfect Montana experience.

The ranch itself was a bit more rustic than Alex’s personal style, so her goal was to bring in a more sophisticated feeling, while still providing a ranch vibe for their guests. She already had an incredible landscape, so she was very intentional about bringing in elements that would only complement and enhance the natural beauty. She chose colors that were more muted and neutral with a simple pop of forest green in select areas. Says Alex, “My favorite part of any event design is the florals, and I think they make the biggest impact, so I incorporated them as much as possible. I used white and neutral toned flowers with lots of greenery to brighten up the rustic decor while keeping it simple to blend with the landscape.” The flowers also helped to make the tent feel more intimate. The floral designer, Labellum, hung simple greenery alongside handmade macramé mobiles (made by the bride’s mother!) to bring the space down.

“I’m a very nostalgic person and also very detail oriented, so I brought in a lot of personal touches where I could without being too loud about it.”, says Alex. The couple is obsessed with their black lab Hatch. Dylan surprised Alex with her two years ago, and they knew they wanted to include her somehow without being too cheesy about it, so they asked their baker to make a “Hatch” black lab cookie. Dylan’s dad created a family brand that they incorporated into their design as well. They ordered a custom wax seal stamp of the brand and used different shades of wax on the place cards to indicate which meal each guest was to receive.

One of my favorite moments of the day was watching Alex and Dylan walk into the decorated tent together, alone, before any of their guests. We all know weddings are about much more than the flowers you choose or the food you eat, but watching their elated expressions as they witnessed for the first time a space they had created together that perfectly reflected what was important to them was a highlight of the day. They snagged a couple of cookies, and Alex straightened a few forks before leaving the tent, hand in hand, more ready than ever to share their vows and commit their forevers.

Beautiful Bohemian Same-Sex Wedding in Santorini

You know the kind of wedding day you dream about… where the sun is shining, the smiles and love are flowing and the details are unfussy and simply stunning? That’s the kind of fete that Zoe and Louise had. With the famously beautiful backdrop that is Santorini and the planning genius of Tie The Knot In Santorini, it was all documented by Phosart Photography Cinematography with care. It’s the kind of Big Day that warms your soul and gives you all the feels about your own upcoming I dos. Join us for more in the full gallery.

From Phosart Photography CinematographyZoe and Louise are an adventurous couple with a great passion for travel, fitness and photography. They met at University but didn’t get together until 2015 when Zoe was teaching in Spain and Louise was in the UK. The distance didn’t matter and soon they found themselves living in the UAE and traveling the world as much as they can.

They chose the love island of Santorini for their engagement and now they came back for their wedding day! Not the bridezilla type, both easy going, laughing and enjoying the day in their photoshoot. This vintage, fun photo collection of our lovely bride-couple, is full of personal details and high aesthetics in terms of decoration, choice of flowers and in general the wedding board pallet. The absolute trust they showed to us is what we will keep in our hearts and we are blessed to meet so lovely couples!

From Tie The Knot In SantoriniPlanning & design this gorgeous wedding for these amazing ladies and beautiful souls has been a dream!! Their wedding style would totally reflect their personalities: whimsical, romantic, bohemian and adventurous. We incorporated a lot of details from their travels, such as the world map seating chart with their photos, the classy world map cake and table numbers! The romantic element was emphasized with the soft color palette and we tried to give a more bohemian feel with the carpets and the dip died fabrics. We love mixing different styles and Louise & Zoe’s trust allowed us to do so and have a gorgeous result!!

What I will also never forget is the good vibes, the smiles, appreciation and so much love that made us feel sooo happy to be a part pf this beautiful day!!!

The Perfect Color Palette + Wedding Inspiration for Every Season

Today’s feature is your one-stop-shop for color inspiration, bride babes. It’s ALL of the seasons wrapped into one of the prettiest photo shoots I’ve ever set sights on, thanks to every lovely capture from Sally Pinera. From a blooming spring and a fresh, poppy summer to a warm copper fall and a beautifully moody winter, there’s something for everyone. Chloe + Mint headed up the planning while Siren Floral Co killed the floral game—plus so much more from the entire vendor team (take a peek below!). Now, tell us, what is your season and palette of choice?!

From Sally PineraThis shoot was inspired by the naturalistic palette of each season: spring, summer, fall and winter. For spring we showered our bride with blush, peach and soft green hues and was bloom heavy to feature the enlivening season of spring. Wearing a gorgeous blush and petal embellished gown by Naeem Khan and an airy Oscar De La Renta gown, our bride was radiant with easy undone hair. For spring table, an overgrown bloom garden was featured with delicate petal plates by the Ark. As a surprise element, instead of using typical wooden chairs, we used velvet blush toned modern chairs for guests to enjoy. For summer, we were heavily inspired by juicy, abundant yet wild elements. Wearing a trendy fashion forward ombre Viktor and Rolf gown and Jennifer Behr red floral earrings, our bride was a stand out! A dreamy overgrown wildflower field was created for a wild and free environment. Summer tablescape can only be described in one word: juicy! Everywhere you look, theres eye candy, juxtaposition of different textures and colors, and a beautifully overwhelming sense of abundance and lushness. For fall, our bride wore a vintage Shop Gossamer rusted orange gown and Oscar De La Renta lace A-line gown. And a table featuring punchy fall colors and heartwarming copper and figs, the table was inviting. Winter featured dark and moody colors with the bride wearing an Oscar De La Renta cape gown and vintage J.Mendel gown by Shop Gossamer to create mood and nostalgia. With a neutral palette, the tablescape featured darker toned ceramics and smaller foraged greenery.

A Dreamy Farmhouse Dining Room with Article

I recently overhauled my dining room and the very first piece I decided on ended up being the easiest and best decision I made in the whole process. Ahem, Tavola Dining Table from Article, I’m looking at you.

I loved it from the moment I spotted it but was a tad nervous about going with an outdoor table indoors. The thing is, it is hefty (and also insanely good looking) so it checks all the boxes for a table that works for a family of four with two very rambunctious twins. And then I spotted an image of the Tavola Table in the most gorgeous home during my internet travels and the deal was sealed. I was bringing that baby indoors and making it the center of my dining room design.

Topped with naturally water-resistant teak with no chemical sealants and supported with aluminium legs, not only is this table a show-stopper but it is crazy sturdy, as in you could literally dance on the tabletop if you so please. And we just might!

I also snagged these Lanna Ivory Sheepskin Seat Pads which add the coziest layer to our seating; perfect for the chillier temps. They’re super cozy and give a modern twist to our vintage chairs. It’s a win win.

Aside from the quality and beauty of the Tavola Table and theLanna Ivory Sheepskin Seat Pads, Article is also amazing to work with. Clear communication through the whole process, speedy delivery and white glove service.

Speaking of delivery, Article offers a flat shipping fee of $49 (or $19 for small shipments) for most orders, no matter how large. So that insanely sturdy table doesn’t cost an arm & a leg to ship. Plus, you can choose from affordable upgrade options for in-room delivery and assembly at checkout.

This is a table that will see many a family dinner, cocktails with friends and snack + homework hub in the coming years. It’s the center of our dining room, the heart of our home and 100% the best decision I made when designing my space.

And just in time for the holidays, Article is having the most amazing Black Friday sale running now through December 2. You’ll find select items up to 60% off. Here are a few of my faves…

Belez Sofa | Gira Floor Lamp | Balla Throw | Crush Rug

If you’re looking for quality decor and a crazy good price, Article is where it’s at. Head to their site now to shop the sale and find your next favorite decor piece. I guarantee that cart is going to be filled to the brim with goodies. Happy shopping!

A Charming New England Wedding at Castle Hill Inn

Ahhh, New England in the summertime… blooming hydrangeas at every turn, salty air, and a crisp, coastal breeze – there’s truly nothing like it! The second we laid eyes on this romantic Castle Hill Inn wedding in Newport, Rhode Island, with photos from Erich Mcvey and planning by Firefly Events, we were instantly consumed by it’s charm. Blueberries accented the table design while floral arrangements full of radiant roses by Tinge Floral have us tickled pink. Don’t miss a detail and head on over to the FULL GALLERY here!

Our goal as wedding planners is always to create a celebration that is a true reflection of our clients’ personalities and love story. Lane and Connor are two of the kindest people we know. They also happen to be effortlessly classy and SO.MUCH.FUN! So, when it was time to plan and design their wedding we had to make sure it was genuine, classy and a full-on BLAST!

Lane and Connor met at boarding school in Connecticut and picked Newport, RI as the perfect meeting spot for friends from Choate, Dartmouth and Colby.  They knew they wanted to get married near the ocean (Connor loves to fish!), and they selected the stunning Castle Hill Inn in Newport, RI for their reception.  They held the ceremony at the iconic St. Mary’s Church where Jacqueline Bouvier married then Senator John F. Kennedy in 1953 for their ceremony. Classy. Once the venues were selected, we started to plan their vision for the big day.  We turned to invite masters Bliss and Bone who crafted the loveliest invitation suite that was perfect for L+C. 1-part fun and creative, 1-part simple elegance. From there we knew we needed a photographer that was super fun and personable, just like L+C, but who could also capture their deep love for one another. Cue Erich McVey. Genius. He also happened to share the same last name as Lane, so we knew it was meant to be.

With the big vendors done, we moved into the fun details like decor! We wanted a florist that could nail L+C’s chic vibe, while still being cutting edge and fun, so we turned to Tinge. Tinge is one of our fave designers out of Utah whose sprawling, organic designs look more like art pieces than floral arrangements. We had a lot of fun with colors and textures on the tables (hello gorgeous lamb’s ear!) and jazzed up the tent with some wrought iron chandeliers dripping with greenery and a floral backdrop for the photo booth.

The team came together from there and included our friends at Rent Patina, the local baker Confectionery Designs and The Elements from Elan Artist who kept Lane and Connor on the dance floor ALL NIGHT LONG. Can’t forget A Signature Welcome, who helped Lane and Connor welcome their guests with some killer welcome boxes including their favorite things like Chicago popcorn mix and stroopwafels, a treat Connor came to love during his time playing hockey in Norway.  We maybe snuck a few “extras” in our suitcases home!

In short, Lane and Connor’s wedding was not only an epic dance party, it was also a heartfelt weekend filled with so much love, family, friends and and a thoughtfully curated team to bring to help bring it all to life.

Autumn Harvest Winery Wedding at Folino Estate

It’s as if photographer Lauren Fair and event planner Arielle Fera Events stepped inside my autumnal wedding DREAMS. In truly one of the most elevated and romantic fall wedding looks, I was totally blown away by the plethora of sophisticated details like the golden sunset against the foraged florals for a ceremony space, blooms by Belovely. The voluminous sleeves on this sheer Rara Avis gown look angelic against the stunning Old World feel to Pennsylvania based Folino Estate… and yes, I said in Pennslyvania. Can you believe that?

The words ethereal, old world, and painterly come to mind when perusing these gorgeous images. The tiniest of details, like the pears and pomegranates as decor, just add so much whimsy to the entire look!

As if the venue itself wasn’t beautiful enough, we love that it seeps out old world European vibes (which I have a soft spot for). The stone walls and hilly vineyards are as charming as could be…

There’s nothing better than a remarkably artistic arrangement of florals. I couldn’t take my eyes off of the foraged-style blooms by Belovely with the mixture of soft dusty rose tones and very subtle pops of pomegranate red.

A Photographer’s Estate Wedding in Honolulu, Hawaii

Not only did this fete draw me in with it’s to-die-for Hawaii backdrop and that ridiculously beautiful dress, but each and every one of the captures by Trynh Photography (assisted by Lucy Munoz), held my attention for not seconds, but minutes. I suppose that’s the gorgeous result of the chemistry between the Bride, Jenny Soi (who also happens to be a photographer!) and Trynh who became the best of friends after connecting through their industry on social media. Toss in a layer of blooms from Designs by Hemingway and you’ve got all the ingredients for wedding inspiration that is sure to have you clicking ‘pin it’ from the start.

From the Bride… The Gown: Besides my new husband and my family being at the wedding, my gown was my favorite thing. I knew I wanted a gown that was feminine and unique, yet timeless at the same time. I specifically requested a gown that has dimensional details and a illusion neckline that wasn’t “too sexy” for mom. This Idan Cohen Dress was the third wedding dress I tried on at Kinsley James Walnut Creek and instantly knew it was the one because it made me feel so confident and graceful. I hope to save this gown for my future daughter or daughter in law if I am so fortunate to have kids. If not, it will go to one of my niece!

How we met: We met in highschool and fell in love in our early 20’s after reconnecting. We both knew we had a little crush on each other in high school but it wasn’t until we became good friends as adults that we realized how much happiness we brought to each others lives. It just made sense.

Wedding Style: Our wedding was an intimate tropical formal affair inspired by our love for family and island life. We kept our design elements very minimalist but with a lot of intention behind every detail. One of my favorite decor elements was being able to dedicate our table names by naming it after my husband’s late-mother favorite orchid flowers. Our flowers were arranged ikebana style into vessels handmade by my dear sister, Brenda Soi just for the occasion. I also love the color grey-blue and that sweet in between gradient of beautiful calming colors my husband and I will never be tired of admiring.

How you planned your wedding: Being a destination wedding, we made just one trip to our venue in Oahu before we knew we wanted to book it. It was the perfect location for my entire family and bridal party to stay at and enjoy an entire weekend of festivities. Being a creative, it was natural for me to want to design and curate the vendors to perfectly carry out my vision of a timeless wedding.

From Trynh PhotographyI met Jenny Soi two years ago though our social network, and she said “I’m a photographer too, we should be best friends”, and that we now are. I’ve come to know both Jenny & Viet while living in the SF Bay Area briefly. I’ve watched the whole wedding planning process unfold, but of course Jenny made it look so effortless and stress free (thanks to being a wedding photographer), she knew exactly her vision and all the little delicate details that tells the story of their lives not their wedding day. Though she made it seem easy, it was not easy to plan a destination wedding when you can’t just drive there to check something. You definitely have to rely on all the creatives to help pull all of this together. On the day before Jenny planned a cute pool party for her bridesmaids and guests. The wedding day was beautiful, especially the bride. Even with all the designing and planning, no one wishes to have rain on their wedding. The team set up all the tables outside in the beautiful courtyard surrounded by lush green palm trees and tropical plants, however, the rain came pouring down and all was moved inside a tent. The rest of the night they celebrated, danced under that tent with the live musicians and the sound of rain.

A Baby Shower Inspired by The Moon + Stars

For baby number three, this Twinkle, Twinkle, Little Star inspired shower was not only a celebration of the little one on the way but also a way to thank all of the guests. Detailed Touch Events crafted the most elegant baby blue hued affair infused with lush florals by Birchwood, star studded invitations by Copper Willow Paper Studio and the sweetest party favors by Poppins & Post. See the cuteness unfold through Mariel Hannah’s images.

“Twinkle Twinkle Little Star, Do you know how loved you are?” was the inspirational quote around this elegant baby shower. I wanted to make sure it was clean, classic and elegant, with touches of rustic, yet still adding in a hint of whimsy, since after all, it is a baby shower!

This was the mommy’s third baby shower and many of the guests attending had gifted her at previous baby celebrations. Because of this, I wanted to emphasis the guest experience! I wanted the guests to leave this shower feeling like they not only showered this mommy, but felt pampered themselves as well.

Upon arrival, guests were greeted with an assortment of passed hor d’oeuvres and cocktails. For lunch they dined at a table full of lush floral centerpieces by Birchwood Floral Design. They had the option between three of the mommy’s pregnancy craving favorite meals for lunch. Poppins & Post made the most delicious cookies that were beautifully wrapped in a wooden box that each guest was able to take home.

The luxurious game prizes were an extra incentive for guests to have fun and be involved in the shower games. I brought in a local singer/acoustic guitarist that created a soft yet cool vibe to the shower.

The hint of whimsy I wanted to bring in was truly displayed through the beautiful balloon displays. The balloon arch that surrounded the mommy-to-be’s gift opening area also played as a picture taking area that was a big hit amount the guests. The day ended in a dessert display of yummy goodies that catered to the shower’s theme.

A Classic Bride’s Dream Wedding at Duke Mansion

All-white weddings will always hold a special place in our hearts – with that being said, today is a very happy day over here on SMP. Everything from white peony-filled arrangements from Katelyn Pinner Studio to a three-tiered, ruffle cake by Suarez Bakery – to be honest, we’re kind of at a loss for words trying to describe the beauty of this wedding day. Love & Honey Wed planned every flawless detail while Cathy Durig captured photos that have us weak at the knees. Keep on scrolling and allow us to bless your screens with this classic, Duke Mansion dream…

From the bride… We chose the Duke Mansion in Charlotte, North Carolina for its grand nature and rich history that sits on a property full of hidden details including secret gardens, a brick paved side terrace, and hundred-year-old oak trees lining the property.

We were married on the back lawn of the mansion in an outdoor garden ceremony under a luscious floral draped pergola. We utilized a soft floral design palette and did our best to emphasize the surrounding gardens of the historic venue to create a seamless design. My bridal bouquet incorporated a piece of my mother’s veil from her wedding day, which I surprised her with on the day.

After the ceremony, guests were invited to cocktail hour on an adjoining patio where they were greeted with our signature drink – Prosecco Pops. We sourced locally crafted popsicles (King of Pops) and accompanied them with a splash of Prosecco. Guests wandered the gardens before dinner and found their hand calligraphed seating assignments hung on our DIY linen-backed frame my groom and I had crafted from an antique mirror (which we finished only 24 hours before our wedding).

The reception featured a grand head table which included a long row of oak tables draped in a soft runner, candles, and organic florals by Katelyn Pinner Studio. Our guests dined beneath rows of twinkle lights draped in lush greenery which brought the charm of the gardens into the reception.

As our guests continued to enjoy dancing, cocktails, and the late night grilled cheese and tomato soup shooters, we were pulled outside to the reception terrace where our photographer, Cathy Durig surprised us with a head table filled with candles.

We danced around the table and soaked in every minute of newlywed bliss – just the two of us. The special touches of our day, from the hand-calligraphed paper goods and gold foil napkins to our specially arranged welcome boxes and an epic sparkler exit, made it truly memorable.

Dreamy Amalfi Coast Elopement at Belmond Hotel Caruso in Ravello

I’m officially convinced. The Amalfi Coast is the dreamiest place ever to say I do—and Belmond Hotel Caruso is hands down one of the most charming backdrops to do it. No, this isn’t #sponsored my friends… this is just me having a straight up major venue crush moment. To make it all the more romantic, today’s gorgeous couple decided to elope here before their traditional Indian wedding at home. Lace & Luce joined to capture every step of the way and I have a feeling you’ll be spending a little extra time with this one.

From Lace & LuceBeing based on the Amalfi Coast I absolutely love photographing elopements, there is something so romantic to me about having something special, that is just for the two of you. It is even more exciting when the couple doesn’t tell anyone they are eloping and wait to surprise everyone with photos from their Italian elopement at their traditional Indian wedding when they return home. My favourite location for elopements is definitely Ravello, being there, up in the clouds feels surreal, a literal dream. This couple had their entire day at the Belmond Caruso, from getting ready in their upgraded suite (Thanks to the hotel), to their private dinner on the terrace. They were the first couple to have the “Chef’s table” for their elopement, it is a tiny little terrace with the most beautiful view. The perfect end to their fairytale day.

When Ishra contacted me about eloping we managed to organize her dream elopement quickly in about a month. They wanted something special, for just the two of them before have their big traditional Indian wedding back at home in Vancouver.

A Winter Wedding at Boone Hall Plantation With All “The Notebook” Vibes

If Allie and Noah are forever your favorite onscreen couple – we’re betting you had no idea you could get married at Allie’s house in the movie! Yup, that’s right. Boone Hall Plantation, just twenty minutes outside of charming Charleston, will make all your Nicholas Sparks dreams come true (minus the heartache). Oh, and did we mention Blake Lively and Ryan Reynolds also tied the knot here? #goals… Today we’re sharing a gorgeous winter wedding captured by Virgil Bunao Photography and planned by Sweetgrass Social Event + Design that reveals all this romantic venue has to offer. From enchanting live oak trees covered in Spanish moss to the bride’s timeless style – keep on scrolling to see every last detail.

After noticing many mutual friends on Facebook, Steve went out on a limb and sent Jennifer a message asking if she’d be interested in getting together for a drink. The date that followed (at Stars Rooftop Bar in Charleston) led to a beautiful relationship. When the duo decided to make it official, Jennifer had a clear vision of what she wanted for the big day.

“The church was an easy decision! My identical twin sister was married at Trinity United Methodist two years prior and I wanted the same priest to marry me and Steve”, said the bride.

The couple then selected their reception venue – Boone Hall Plantation’s Cotton Dock. The rustic setting and riverfront views were perfect for the evening Jennifer had in mind. “We got married in January and I wanted a winter wonderland feel. I wanted lots of silvers, blues, greenery, and pops of deep red. I also wanted low lighting and candles everywhere! We had two live burning fires going. It was warm, cozy, and romantic.”

Jacqueline Volz of Sweetgrass Social and The Flower Cottage brought Jennifer’s dream day to life and luckily, photographer Virgil Bunao was on hand to capture each thoughtful detail. Jennifer’s elegant bride attire included a Legends by Romona Keveza dress and bolero, a veil borrowed from her twin, and earrings from her husband – a wedding day gift!

This Al Fresco Dancing Pines Wedding Is a Breath Of Fresh Air

We love a bride who knows how to embrace Mother Nature’s boundless beauty, allowing the organic elements of her surroundings inspire the overall wedding décor. Ashley and Matt tied the knot amongst the towering trees of Tahoe – we can only imagine the heavenly scent of fresh pines blowing in the breeze… ugh *lights Christmas candle*. Mandy Ford captured the grandeur of the scenery while perfectly illustrating the intimacy of the day. Love and Lupines’ organic florals found a way to enhance the beauty of Dancing Pines, keeping to a fresh color scheme of green and white. Check out every detail here and prepare to fall in love!

Ashley and Matt are seriously the perfect pair! I loved watching their reaction when they first saw one another during their first look. They both seemed to instantly relax and feel at ease by the other’s presence.

I can count on more than 2 hands where I would glance to a far corner of the wedding and see them alone, enjoying their time together. It’s not often couples find the time to truly sneak away and enjoy their day together.

It’s no wonder the two are as sweet and loving as they are. They both come from tight-knit families with a loving bond, and killer sense of humor! Because Ashley and Matt’s Dancing Pines wedding was an al fresco dinner under the stars, the evening continued to gain beauty as the sun set.

The couple chose table numbers with a National Parks theme, showcasing some of their favorite hiking destinations. Lush florals by Love and Lupines garnished the wooden tables. Butter and Salt Catering catered the event, and I love how their artisan bread loaves and volcanic rock sauce dishes enhanced the organic, al fresco decor.

Brian Hess provided live music during dinner, and had the dance floor full once the party started. As always, I love working weddings alongside one of my favorite videographers, Tony Castaneda Films. I can’t wait to see the video footage he captured from Ashley and Matt’s Dancing Pines Wedding. This wedding was definitely one for the record books!

Elegant Indian Wedding Celebration in Malibu Hills

Jacqueline and Rohin might be one of the most captivating couple’s I’ve ever seen and their wedding celebrations, equally charming. We’re busting open part two of their wildly beautiful I dos. While this morning’s traditional Indian ceremony feature was painted with the prettiest hues, day two took on a softer, dreamy palette that compliments the Malibu Hills so perfectly. A dream made possible by So Happi Together and captured with precision by Sally Pinera—come along for the complete celebration!

From Sally PineraContinuing Jacqueline and Rohin’s festivities from Day 1 with a colorful Indian celebration, Day 2 featured a gorgeous soft hue palette Western wedding with gorgeous and sophisticated elements. With sunny Malibu hills as their backdrop, Jacqueline and Rohin got married under a beautifully bloomed arch. Guests enjoyed oysters and cocktail as the two enjoyed their wedding party and each other. An elegantly draped tent awaited the guests while speeches, dances and laughter filled into the night.

A Corpus Christi Country Club Wedding of Timeless Elegance

There is so much beauty in simplicity – and this wedding captured by Honey Gem Creative is all the proof we’ll ever need! Every detail of this gorgeous day at Corpus Christi Country Club was planned entirely by the bride herself – how impressive is that!? She drew inspiration from their gold, custom monogram and a classic color scheme of crisp white and emerald green. With a little help from Razzle Dazz, her floral vision was brought to life in timeless arrangements of ivory roses, Italian ruscus and white hydrangea. Be sure to scroll all the way to the end for the bride’s one (very important) piece of advice for all future bride-to-be’s!

From the Bride… August 04, 2018 will be a day both Michael and I will hold close to our hearts for the rest of our lives. Michael and I dated ten years before getting married so for both of us, it is still so surreal that we are married. That ten year journey was so sweet but moving forward as a married couple is far sweeter than we could have ever imagined. One of the first things Michael said to me after getting engaged was ‘I don’t want a long engagement!’. So, fast forward a quick eight months, it was our wedding day.

So, fast forward a quick eight months, it was our wedding day. I went into full wedding planning mode following the day we were engaged up until the day of our wedding. Michael and I both love things simple and classic. We envisioned a lot of greenery with white floral so I based everything else around this. Our centerpieces, bridal and bridesmaid bouquets, sweetheart table and various other elements of the ceremony and reception were adorned with various ivory roses, Italian ruscus, and white hydrangea.

It was simply stunning! It was just what we had envisioned: simple, classic and elegant. What was so special to me about our wedding was that I created and designed nearly every aspect of the decor. In an effort to be wise on budgeting (Who am I kidding? I couldn’t stop finding cute things to do and to get!), I didn’t collaborate with a planner or coordinator. I started with a blank slate and thought out what would best illustrate Michael and I together. I had a custom monogram with our initials created and included this in as many details as possible from the invitations, a large laser-etched Monogram on a boxwood wall in the foyer of the reception, gold foiled cocktail napkins, a sticker to place on top of the packaging of the late night snacks, to the dinner menus placed on each place setting.

Throughout planning, Michael would always comment on how much he loved the monogram. And to me, it made seeing all of that planning with our monogram throughout our wedding day come to life even better. There are so many things about that day that make me emotional still today. The absolute sweetest moment of the night was after everyone had finished giving their toasts, Michael went up to say a brief ‘Thank you’ to our guests. After he was finished, he surprised me and sang ‘Grow Old with You’ by Adam Sandler from The Wedding Singer to me. The most I had ever heard Michael sing is when we are together in the car listening to my Taylor Swift on constant repeat. Never did I suspect he would get up in front of hundreds of guests and sing to me. I will never stop replaying that in my head. I am still in awe of him doing that. Another was our surprise donut bar for our guests with the option to infuse their donut or donut hole with alcohol. It was so fun!

If there was one piece of advice I could give to brides-to-be, it is to remember to glance over at your new spouse and admire them throughout your wedding day when you get a chance. When things are going a mile a minute that day, looking over at them is the sweetest, most special feeling. It was truly such a magical day.

From the Photographer… One tip I wanted to share about this wedding was planning with your brides to ensure that there is time to shoot all her details. Since this was a church wedding followed by a reception a little more planning was involved. Emily had put so much effort into her design and we wanted to ensure that all of those details were captured. Emily and I spoke with the venue and they agreed to move cocktail hour to the lobby and lock the reception space until after cocktail hour so we could capture it. Planning this ahead of time was so important. If this had not been planned guests would have entered the space during cocktail hour and we wouldn’t have been able to shoot the space for Emily. The key here is reviewing the timeline and communication ahead of time.
