This Iconic Black and White Wedding Will Have You Saying YES To Classic Details!

I love a good first look…but what I love even more is when the Groom cries when he sees his bride for the first time, giving me ALL the feels! There is something so sweet and intimate about it and this Groom had me shedding a tear or two of my own! The lovely couple decided on classic black and white details with touches of gold to highlight their ever so beautiful venue, The Park Chateau Estate & Garden with a jaw-dropping chandelier and elegant florals by Wedded Events. The glamour and iconic theme rang true throughout every aspect of the wedding day and Brkyln View Photography, captured it all…including that heartwarming first look! Go ahead and have a look of your own!

From Brkyln View PhotographyElyisha’s & Nadeem’s wedding at the luxurious Park Chateau is what dreams are made of! From the breathtaking getting ready location, on-site adorable white chapel, a stunning ballroom, and beautifully manicured gardens, you can see why the couple chose this venue to celebrate their wedding day.

The couple exchanged an emotional first look in the gardens before we moved around the property for their bridal portraits. Tears were shed, words of love exchanged, and intimate images taken before the day really got started!

The bride and groom decided to keep their bridal party in classic black bridesmaid dresses and suits which gave an iconic and classic look to their wedding. The Bride wore a stunning beaded wedding gown from Jahee Bridal.

For their wedding ceremony, their family pastor was the officiant and married the couple. Lots of happy tears were shed during their vows. The couple walked out of the chapel and were showered with rose petals as they walked down the steps as husband and wife.

Inside the reception space, the couple had the dance floor wrapped in white with their new monogrammed emblem underneath the grand chandelier. The couple had lots of white, gold, and pops of green in their wedding decor that brought the elegant ballroom to life.

This Hot Pink and Green Bali Wedding Is the Definition of Island Chic.

If you’re looking for some real wedding inspo that combines your love for island life and resort chic style – this one’s for you! From sweeping ocean views at the cliffside ceremony to dinner and dancing underneath the palms, this gallery from Oliver Fly Photography will have you reaching for a one-way ticket to paradise. Call Me Madame planned the entire tropical wedding weekend to perfection while the bride stunned in not one but TWO gorgeous designer gowns. Keep on reading for all the must-know details!

What did you envision your wedding being prior to planning?

From the Bride… We both love to travel and knew right away we wanted to have a destination wedding with breathtaking views. Bali has always had a special place in our hearts as it was our first vacation together in Asia while we were dating long-distance. Eric lives in Hong Kong and at the time I lived in Vancouver. Being on separate continents and an entire ocean apart Bali was the perfect romantic location for us to spend time together. During that first trip we fell completely in love with the magical atmosphere and majestic views.

What was your color palette and your style vision?

We always wanted a lot of pastel colours and whites, something very island chic, relaxed and beautiful. We were looking for a romantic garden wedding with the tropical vibes of Bali.

Why did you choose this wedding venue?

Ungasan Clifftop Resort is an incredible location and ticked all our boxes. It has a stunning view, it offers a lot of privacy, and it has a lot of greenery and beautiful diverse landscaping. We wanted to spend as much time with our wedding guests as possible which meant that an afterparty venue was a mandatory requirement. Sundays Beach Club served that purpose perfectly and was a great surprise and final reveal once the reception finished. The villa accommodations were a relaxing oasis for our wedding weekend and the in-house kitchen which catered our wedding was excellent.

What unique elements or DIY details did you include?

We wanted to incorporate some of our core values and tastes into our wedding details. It’s one of the key reasons we chose Alice Dentan (Call Me Madame) as our wedding planner as she creates unique weddings tailored to each couple. My husband and I try to be particularly thoughtful whenever we plan an event or buy a gift, we always try to put in that additional effort to think of meaningful details. We brought this same value to working with Alice to produce an exceptional wedding. This was incorporated into our music choices, design elements, etc to create an adventure for our guests. We took our guests on a journey of tears, laughter, dancing, three cakes and one macaroon tower and four stunning venue reveals in one night! It was the wedding of our dreams and such fun experience for everyone.

What was your favorite moment? Your favorite detail?

Our wedding planner Alice Dentan (Call Me Madame) did an incredible job so it’s hard to pick only one favourite moment from our wedding. The most meaningful and emotional moment was walking down the aisle and seeing our vision after a year of planning realized. The stunning ceremony setup overlooking a clifftop view, the gorgeous florals, and the live acoustic duet performing a cover of Guns n Roses – Sweet Child O’ Mine. Seeing everything come together and seeing my amazing husband waiting brought me tears of joy.

Tell us about your flowers, your gown, your favors for your guests, your cake, etc…

We were so lucky that Natalie Palmer (Paper Diamonds) agreed to be our florist. Her taste is exquisite and combined with Alice Dentan (Call Me Madame) they exceeded our expectations. Our bouquets were one-of-a-kind, just stunning and amazing to see our vision board realized. I was lucky enough to wear two beautiful dresses. My ceremony dress was a traditional sweetheart fitted gown with beautiful scalloped lace. I worked with Bisou Bridal in Vancouver to pair it with the perfect earrings, veil and custom off-the shoulder sleeves. It was my dream ceremony dress, I’m still absolutely in love. I really wanted to be comfortable at our reception, to be able to dance easily and to enjoy our wedding food so I purchased a second gown with a completely different neckline and silhouette. The second dress was so light and comfortable, I finished the night very late at Sundays Beach Club sitting on the tulle of my reception dress listening to the ocean waves. We were very concerned that purchasing favours would contribute to one-time-use plastics and were very thoughtful about wanting a sustainable option. Alice Dentan (Call Me Madame) recommended an excellent locally made option – bamboo straws with pipe cleaner and a custom cloth cover. My husband and I both agreed we didn’t want a traditional multi-tiered wedding cake. We found an inspiration photo for multiple individual cakes and knew that’s exactly what we wanted. It was one of the most popular reveals of the whole night, I don’t think I’ve ever seen so many wedding guests so excited to eat cake!

What is one piece of advice that you could give brides-to-be ?

Enjoy. Every. Moment. Live in the present on your wedding day, and don’t sweat the small things. Soak in the happiness and joy surrounding you, it’s such a beautiful feeling.

If You Want an Intimate Ceremony but Your Guest List Is Too Big – Here’s What You Should Do.

Dreaming of tying the knot in an intimate ceremony in front of just a small group of your closest people but your guest list just won’t allow it – this couple just thought of a genius way to fix that! They decided to exchange vows with just a few friends and family in their parent’s backyard, then celebrated their newlywed status at a huge reception under a gorgeous tent… yup, genius. They truly got the best of both worlds! Simply By Tamara Nicole made their timeless wedding dreams a reality while Blue Rose Photography captured every moment they would never want to forget. See it all at the full gallery!

From the Bride… Ash and I met 5 years ago in Seattle, where he was living and I grew up. I was finishing law school when Ash proposed at my parent’s beach house, so we decided we would until the end of the following summer to be married. Because we had about a year and a half to plan our wedding, I felt like we were able to take our time and pick the best vendors to work with. Choosing Tamara of Simply Tamara Nicole as our wedding planner was definitely the easiest and best decision of our entire planning process! She knew so many amazing vendors for us to work with, was so easy to communicate with, and totally understood the style we were going for. Ash and I really wanted the entire wedding to feel timeless and classic – I wanted to be able to look back at our photos in 10, 20, and 50 years without feeling like our wedding had been too ’trendy’ at any one point in time. Tamara helped us nail down the style that we wanted and even did all our florals for us including ceremony and reception decor, as well as the bouquets and boutonnieres. We chose neutral colors – greens and whites for the florals with pops of blue everywhere. Tamara did such an incredible job of helping all our visions come to life!

The morning of our wedding, I got ready with my bridesmaids, my mom, and my mother-in-law. While we were getting ready, Ash had little surprise gifts that he had instructed my bridesmaids to give me throughout the morning. He gave me a pair of slippers that said Bride on them, a book filled with photos of our dog Nala, a pair of white sandals to change into if my feet started hurting that night, and we each wrote each other a letter that we read before the ceremony. He also gave me a pair of white Ray-Bans with Jen Higgins and 8.24.19 written on them – he gave a matching pair of black Ray Bans to each of his groomsmen with their names on them.

Ash and I had our wedding ceremony in the side yard of my parent’s house where I grew up. We decided to do a smaller more intimate ceremony and a larger reception. We had a close family friend and artist John Grade create our wedding altar that now lives permanently in my parent’s yard. The wood from our altar, old-growth Alaskan Yellow Cedar, was the same wood used in another art piece by John Grade that is installed in Ash’s home town of Sun Valley, Idaho. Ash and I chose not to do a first look, so the first time we saw each other that day was when I walked down the aisle. Because we decided to do a smaller more intimate ceremony, neither of us was very nervous and we felt completely at ease standing in my parent’s yard saying the traditional vows we had chosen. We also loved that we were able to have our dog, Nala, there with us during the ceremony.
Ash and I both grew up boating and it is one of our favorite activities to do together in Seattle so we decided to arrive with our wedding party to our reception, which was on Lake Washington, on an old wooden boat, Gallant Lady. It was so much fun to be with our closest friends and have a moment to enjoy each other’s company between the ceremony and reception.

Our reception was at the Seattle Tennis Club, which is on Lake Washington and near my parent’s house. I have spent many summer days at that club so it was a very special place to have our reception. We had dinner on the tented lawn by the water, followed by dessert and dancing inside the ballroom. For dinner we served classic Pacific Northwest food – salmon, steak, or veggies with pesto. We also served special wine with dinner that my dad had been saving for over 20 years for this occasion. After dinner and speeches we moved inside. Our band, Michael Benson Band, kept the dance floor packed all night. We also had a photo booth by Hello There You that was very popular. We served late night food and had an espresso cart by Espresso Elegance to keep everyone energized throughout the night. At the end of the night Ash and I did a special sparkler send-off into a vintage Rolls Royce.
Our vendors were all amazing and I’m so glad that we booked them as early as we did! Libby Tipton, our calligrapher, was able to customize and make everything for us including our invitations, ceremony programs, signage, napkins, escort board, and place settings with Fran’s chocolate! We worked with Carla at Honey Crumb to design our delicious and beautiful cake that matched our theme perfectly. Our wedding rings and my engagement ring were custom made for us by Madison Park Jewelers. Bridal Beauty Agency did an amazing job with all the bridesmaids and my hair and makeup that lasted perfectly through the whole night.

My wedding dress was Tara LaTour and I found it at A & Be Bridal Shop in Seattle. I loved how simple and timeless my dress felt on its own because it allowed me to play around with different accessories throughout the day and night. I wore a tulle veil with horsehair trim by Sara Gabriel for the ceremony. After the ceremony I changed into a fun short cape by Made with Love that I wore when we arrived at our reception. Because we did a smaller ceremony I wanted to wear something reminiscent of a veil to the larger reception. The cape also felt like my chance to wear something a little more modern and different. For dancing a put on a thin silver and white belt by Sara Gabriel. Finally, when we did our sparkler send-off I wore an antique fur scarf that belonged to my Great-Grandmother. My jewelry was also all connected to my family – I borrowed my mother’s earrings, wore a necklace given to me by my grandmother, and a diamond tennis bracelet given to me by my dad.
I could not recommend Brittany and Joe of Blue Rose Photography enough. We did engagement and other photo shoots with them before the wedding so we felt very comfortable around them! From the first time we me they were always so easy to work with and so talented. They captured our perfect wedding day for us so well and I can’t wait to look back on all the photos for years to come.

This Might Just Be Our New Favorite Malibu Wedding Venue

Naturally beautiful, sun-soaked, ridiculously romantic with a hint of rustic charm – this stunning Malibu wedding day is a total dream from start to finish. Pastel hues graced the lush floral arrangements from Enchanted Garden Floral Design while Star Hansen Events had the day going off without a hitch! The couple tied the knot under a floral adorned arbor and celebrated with their favorite people under string lights and stars. We could go on and on about the perfection of this day – but how about you see for yourself at the full gallery, taken by Tenth & Grace!

From Tenth & GraceTraci and Joe exchanged their vows on a beautiful sunny day at Cielo Farms in Malibu. The couple got ready with their bridal parties at the Four Seasons Westlake before making their way to the wedding venue.

Traci and Joe opted not to do a first look, as it was really important to the couple that Joe see Traci for the first time walking down the aisle.

But they made sure to dedicate lots of time for portraits after the ceremony, and we took advantage of the beautiful views at Cielo Farms to capture bride and groom portraits while guests mingled at cocktail hour.

Star Hansen Events and Enchanted Garden Floral Design brought Traci and Joe’s reception vision to life with lush pastel floral arrangements on the guest tables and adorning the sweetheart table.

After dinner, guests danced the night away thanks to DJ Krieger!

This Might Just Be the Cutest, Funniest, Sweetest Proposal Story We’ve Heard Yet!

A couple madly in love, the cutest proposal story EVER, and a fluffy golden-doodle flower girl… I mean, what more could a girl ask for, are we right?! It was the most perfect day, Crowned Events brought the bride and groom’s laid back boho vision to life at Calamigos Ranch in Malibu. Guests dined and danced the night away under twinkle lights, chandeliers and enchanting trees – with a little late night In-N-Out surprise to end the celebrations. Don’t forget to check out the full gallery of images captured by Lovisa Photo to see all the sweetness.

From Lovisa PhotoKyle & Bryana are that it-couple. Effortlessly cool, impeccable taste, super down to Earth, and MADLY in love with each other. To top it off, they have the CUTEST puppy named Lumi (who was a flower girl). When they contacted me to photograph their wedding at the Birchwood Room at Calamigos Ranch, we instantly clicked and I knew I was in for a treat. Sure enough, we had the best time eating pizza and drinking wine at their engagement session at Palisades Park. I’ve photographed several weddings at Calamigos Ranch, but this was my first time at the Birchwood Room. It is tucked away in the back part of Calamigos Ranch, nestled behind winding pathways. But once you find your way to it, you discover a hidden gem. The sun peeks in through the back of the ceremony space, and guests dine on an outdoor deck underneath twinkle lights hanging from towering trees. It was simply gorgeous. But you’ll have to take a look at this beautiful wedding to see for yourself…

Brief history of your relationship: How did you meet again and when was that? Date, time, location? What were you thinking and feeling at the time? Give me a brief rundown of you two becoming more serious leading up to the proposal.

From the Bride, Bryana… We met on Facebook (yep, lol) while living in San Francisco. After he added me, I thought Kyle was a recruiter reaching out about a job I had just applied for and I struck up a conversation trying to get more information. I quickly realized he had other intentions. We ended up getting together for dinner and drinks a few weeks later and right off the bat everything felt so natural and comfortable. We talked for hours at dinner, ended up at a dive bar, and shared our first kiss that night. I remember after our second date Kyle let me know that he wasn’t seeing anyone else and wasn’t planning to and we’ve been pretty much inseparable ever since. That was over 5 years ago.

How did he propose?

My Grandma passed away last year and we were both really close with her. As her health began to deteriorate and she realized she may not be around to watch us get married, she offered me the wedding ring my Grandpa Russ gave to her – which meant the world to me. I wasn’t sure if Kyle was planning on using it or not. After she passed my family planned a memorial trip for her to Hawaii, one of her favorite vacation places. One night we planned a sunset toast on the beach with mai tais in her honor where we all went around and shared memories. When it was Kyle’s turn, he got down knee and proposed to me with her ring. You think I would’ve had some idea it was about to happen based on the circumstances – but I was totally oblivious. So shocked I put the ring on my own finger, said, “Thank you” and walked away. That being said, it was such a meaningful, special surprise, surrounded by my whole family.

What was the inspiration behind your wedding?

When we talked about our wedding our main goal was to throw an awesome party with all the people we love most. We both don’t like being the center of attention – we wanted to celebrate our love while also celebrating all the people that have been such a huge part of our love story. Focusing on the guest experience was really important to us (food, drinks, music & fun). In terms of style – boho, intimate, and romantic with neutral colors is what we were shooting for. We wanted it to be beautiful and classy, but to still feel down to earth and we wanted to still feel like ourselves.

How did you decide on your wedding venue?

We wanted something outdoors and more rustic feeling – no carpeted hotel ballrooms. After searching all over California (Napa, Santa Barbara, San Diego) we fell in love with The Birchwood Room the second we saw it. It looked like a treehouse out of a fairytale with all of the lights – the perfect place to throw an intimate party with all of our loved ones. We really wanted a venue where we could keep the music on later than 10pm, that came with rentals & catering, and that was close enough to good hotels while still feeling like a destination – Calamigos had all of that. After we toured they let us know there was one Saturday left in 2019 and we immediately booked it.

What was your favorite moment of your wedding day?

Bryana: “Unexpectedly, because we were uneasy about all eyes on us, the ceremony. I’ve never felt more in love with Kyle than I did standing up there listening to his vows and saying “I do”. The energy between us was crazy, really unlike any feeling I’ve ever experienced. Belting “Shallow” and late night In-N-Out on the dance floor were close seconds.”

From the Groom, Kyle: “Seeing Bry for the first time in her dress and seeing her walk down the aisle. Also when our musician surprised us with his version of Ultra Light Beam by Kanye West for the processional.”

What is your favorite thing about each other? (I’d love to hear from both of you on this one!)

Bryana: “Kyle is the one person I know I can depend on for anything. He shows me he cares with his actions – opening my car door, hunting down the perfect piece of cheesecake to cure my hangover. He makes me feel so loved and has the biggest heart.”

Kyle: “Bry is the kindest person I have ever met. She is never one to judge and always has an open mind. I love the way she loves me and other people.”

Any advice for brides planning their wedding day?

If there’s something that you know you want, but are going back and forth about budget on – just do it. This is your day. Don’t regret not upgrading or adding something you love. Choose vendors that are not only talented at what they do – but that you want to spend your time with! Listen to your gut during those initial calls. Prioritize having fun and spending time with your partner. You could spend all night saying hi to your guests if you let yourself, make sure you get out on the dance floor and enjoy your night! The day flies – try not to stress and rush things, take a deep breath, and enjoy every moment.

A Wedding Day That Feels Like Home Surrounded by Family and Flowers!

For this bride, a wedding day that felt like home was the top of her wishlist, and I couldn’t love that more! Together with her wedding planner, A Lovely Day Events, a day full of family, friends, love and ALL of the flowers by Kill’s Custom Creations was brought to life from the couple’s adorable baby girl to the couple’s stunning attire. Take a look below at this beautiful Bay Pointe Inn wedding, captured by the wonderful Christa Hitchcock Photography!

From A Lovely Day EventsFrom our very first meeting with Racheal and Ashton, it was clear that they wanted a wedding celebration that highlighted their love for each other, their families and the details that showcased the personality of their relationship. We worked alongside Racheal and Ashton to create a visually beautiful and curated design that felt classic and elegant, yet fresh and romantic. The subtly southern aesthetic of their venue served as a picture-perfect blank canvas for a palette of white, soft pinks, apricots and lemon – and was a fun nod to Racheal and Ashton’s home states of Michigan and Lousiana.

One must-have for Racheal? Flowers everywhere. Together with our florist, Jessica Kill of Kill’s Custom Creations, we made sure to do just that. Jessica started by transforming the ceremony green-space into a lush garden meadow with floral aisle markers stretched all the way to the classic white pergola that had cascading summery blooms. After the ceremony, the aisle markers made their way inside for the reception, lining the head table, lounge area, and reception entrance, while the statement urns framed the gold bookcases where guests found their place cards.

Inside, table settings were kept classic and simple in order to showcase an array of floral arrangements. We included several subtle moments of “southern charm” – including lovely gold mint julep cups overflowing with bright flowers and crisp hemstitched napkins tied with a silk coral ribbon. Jessica transformed the fireplace that functioned as the backdrop for the head table with an organic weaving floral arrangement that spanned nearly twelve feet tall filled with southern smilax, garden roses, lisianthus, and other statement blooms.

Beyond the design, we worked with Racheal and Ashton to craft a day that allowed them to be surrounded by family and create a truly experiential celebration for their loved ones – many who traveled from across the country to join the wedding day festivities. They worked to include their family wherever possible – whether it was Racheal’s best friend and Maid of Honor walking down the aisle with their sweet baby girl, Dee, Ashton’s uncle offering a heartfelt and moving sermon during their ceremony, or Ashton’s grandmother offering words of wisdom on love and marriage during the first toast of the evening.

Equally important, we wanted to ensure that the wedding day felt authentic to Racheal and Ashton. Racheal and Ashton had an impeccable eye for their own attire. Racheal’s stunning pearl-studded veil complimented her ballgown flawlessly, while Ashton had custom suits crafted for him and each of his groomsmen, complete with custom embroidery on each cuff. They both hold a deep love of music, which made it an easy decision to select a true jazz band for their cocktail hour, while a DJ spun house, funk, and soul music throughout the reception. At the end of the evening, guests were surprised with a Second Line led by Racheal and Ashton that circled the entire reception property. From start to finish, the day was a true celebration of Racheal and Ashton. The love and warmth shared by their family and friends was palpable and something that we will truly never forget.

From the Bride…Everyone wants their wedding day to feel magical, but we wanted ours to feel like home. We wanted our wedding to feel like us; our love, our story, our family. With the help of our wonderful planners, we were able to achieve that. The planning process was tricky, I was an out of state, pregnant bride with a habit of being a bit indecisive, however despite that everything that I envisioned was deciphered and executed perfectly.

Flowers were a big deal to me, I kept telling the girls, I want more flowers here or there, and they were super accommodating changing the design as needed, and when I walked into the reception space my breath was literally taken away, when I saw my bouquet I was almost in tears, it sounds dramatic but have you ever imagined something in your mind and then see it come to fruition? It’s pretty amazing.

At the end of the night I remember looking around and just thinking how beautiful everything was, the candlelight’s were twinkling, the flowers were gorgeous and my guests all looked so comfortable and happy which is what we wanted over everything. That day was exactly how I wanted it to be, I didn’t feel rushed, I felt at ease and I felt like my family and close friends were able to truly share in the love that my husband and I share.

Oversized Sun Hats, Romantic English Gardens and a Countryside Castle – Yes, Please!

This stunning editorial from Willow and Oak Events blends classic, old world elegance with fashion-forward details in the charming English countryside. Think Pride and Prejudice circa 2019. The full gallery captured by Julie Livingston Photography features three heart-stoppingly gorgeous gowns, enchanting floral arrangements from Moss & Stone and two unique but equally beautiful cakes from Lemon Tree Cakes. Prepare to get seriously inspired by this heavenly shoot!

From the stylist, Willow & Oak Events… In this couture European garden editorial, we wanted to achieve a true sense of the grandeur of Hedsor House, a Georgian venue in the English Countryside with roots deep in Royal history. Our goal was to bring the infamous gardens to life inside of a traditional home- to mix old classism and new. The images aim to evoke a sense of opulence, a feeling of intimacy, and inspiration that can only be told through a unique story. We’d recommend sitting amidst candlelight with a glass of chardonnay while viewing this dreamy gallery from Julie Livingston Photography! Our bride in this story, Elizabeth grew up in the English Countryside. She had a garden as ambitious as all of her dreams. She remembers as a little girl setting out at sunrise to walk barefoot, basket in hand alongside her mother to see what blooms were ready for harvest. Though her travels eventually took her away from England, this garden was her calm and the pendent for all of her wedding plans.

The scripty calligraphy + custom illustration from Silbia Ro gives a feeling of old world romance that reminds us why we love correspondence where pen meets paper. As loose blooms, silk ribbons, petite perfumes and French ormolu jewelry boxes came together for the styled heirloom detail shots, our hearts were colored happy by the way the refined paperie danced with the Edwardian and Art Deco style engagement rings from the inimitable Victor Barboné. Elizabeth’s wedding weekend started just as many mornings of her childhood did – foraging fresh, organic, verdant blooms. The flirty Inbal Dror gown she wears in the garden is endlessly mesmerizing with its crystal dusted straps, pretty tulle bows and voluminous, sweeping skirt. As she explores the manicured gardens of Hedsor House, the beauty of which is unmatched, she moves slowly. She takes her time between pastel hydrangea corner and lily pond, boxwood labyrinth and old stone stairways and absorbs every tranquil moment of the day. As dusk set in and guests traveling from afar arrived, the al fresco welcome dinner encouraged the in between moments.

Laughter over old stories and shared wonder over what the future holds. The blue velvet linen was draped with a powdery hued silk runner, as ikebana floral arrangements were scattered organically across the table. While the sun began to set over the Thames Valley, the guests took a break from formality, grabbed a slice of cake adorned with sugar flowers and let their antique arm chairs sit perfectly imperfect as they moved to the edge of the gardens. The bride’s princess gown by Lee Petra Grebenau from Morgan Davies Bridal with golden crystal tulle and floral embroidered lace was conjured up in a serendipitous moment we’re oh-so-glad happened. As she awakened the next morning, a misty morning added an ethereal energy to the grounds below where the intimate ceremony was prepared in the Sunken Garden.

Upholstered Dior chairs sit on either side of the old stone pathway that becomes the aisle as Moss & Stone brings a colorful energy to the picturesque landscape through flourishing urn arrangements of open garden roses, dahlias and dainty little posies to boot. Her wedding gown from Lee Petra Grebenau is hopelessly romantic with its sweeping train, beaded sleeves and high illusion neck. Complementing the look is a loose chignon by Carly Cox and natural, yet luxe makeup artistry by Sarah Yeo. Accented with chandelier drop earrings from Sibo Designs, her bridal style is reminiscent of Old World splendor. Meanwhile, the groom was dressed to the nines in a tailored gray suit by Clements & Church. The reception was nothing if not distinguished – handwoven napkins, crystal cut glassware, vintage silver cutlery and rose print plates at each setting. Set against a backdrop of natural wood paneling in the Hedsor House ballroom, the trio of chandeliers above illuminated the scene from above while Paris gray tapers from Creative Candles dripped away romantically below. The cake by Lemon Tree Cakes sat poetically against a painted meadow backdrop as its handcrafted wafer paper accents dusted with gold leaf pointed towards the sky. All in all, it was a weekend that held memories for a lifetime captured beautifully by  Julie Livingston Photography.

The bride said it best, this gorgeous couple said their I do’s “above the clouds” at the always beautiful Malibu Rocky Oaks. Their foggy wedding day made for the most insanely gorgeous pictures captured by Carmen Santorelli Photography, proving that an imperfect forecast may just be the biggest blessing in disguise. After postponing their wedding celebrations to a later date due to the devastating Wesley Fires, the bride and groom finally got their dream day, complete with blush hues and tons of romantic, soft texture. Don’t miss the pretty, all planned by A Stunning Affair, at the full gallery!

From the bride… Just a week before the big day, we heard the news of the Wesley fires in Malibu. I never though that anything like this could happen, and we found ourselves without a place to get married.

As tragic as it was, people losing their homes and many others like us having no place to get married, Isaac and I got to experience the true love of friends and family that help us prepare a small private ceremony at our home church, and we were still able to get married our most close ones on November 18.

Our dream wedding and celebration was postponed to the summer, after some healing and recovery happened after the fires. Although it was postponed, we got to appreciate each moment with each other and our loved ones. It’s incredible how the same nature that caused a devastating fire, gave us a dreamy fog at the top of the hill of the estate, giving us the most dreamy and once in a lifetime picture.

We decided to call our wedding “Above The Clouds”. The wedding inspiration was simplicity with different texture and tones of blush and clear ghost chairs and decor letting the beautiful location and view shine.

This Terra Cotta & Butter Wedding Inspiration Perfectly Embodies the Coziness of Fall

“If a year was tucked inside of a clock, then autumn would be the magic hour.” – Victoria Erickson. This quote couldn’t be more fitting for today’s dreamy Fall-inspired shoot from Meggie Francisco Events. Buttery hues, terra cotta accents, hearty cuisine and romance at every turn – take a peak inside the full gallery to see all the autumnal magic, taken by Nicole Clarey!

From Meggie Francisco EventsEven in Columbus, Ohio, the last bits of summer drift lazily into fall. Warm days give way to cool nights with increasingly cozy dinners. This feminine wedding photo shoot celebrates the end of summer and its hazy, buttery pops of color that gently begin to fade away. Columbus, Ohio boasts a strong LGBTQ+ community and a supportive wedding community to serve them. We’re the home of superstar Nina West, and our vendor community firmly believes that love is love. Though our city may not rival the sprawling metroplexes around the nation, we’re proud of the abundance of diversity and love in central Ohio.

We were honored to feature a confident and beautiful local same-sex couple in this inspiration shoot. We started by bringing the model couple to Luxe Redux to find fashions that fit their personal styles. Mercedez wore a mix-and-match suit combination with a clean jacket and lace slacks from Martina Liana, as well as a satin camisole from Willowby Waters. Cara donned a striking off-shoulder gown with sheer panel cutouts from on-trend Australian designer One Day Bridal

Both brides held complementing garden-style bouquets with buttery yellow and latte-inspired hues from State and Arrow. From here, we carefully planned the details to create an event with heart and soul. While the look of an event always sets the stage for celebration – terra cotta candles, copper toned flatware and worn wooden chairs usher in the intimate earthiness that fall brings – in this inspiration, we wanted to hint at the experience behind the look.

A warm welcome gift of epicurean soaps and jams greets guests with love and care. A toasty old-fashioned and citrusy French 75 announce a lively cocktail hour. A hearty cool-weather meal of butternut squash soup, beet root salad, and beef short ribs create an unforgettable seasonal dining experience for the guests. Creamy buttery Chardonnay was poured for the first course. As the golden sun set, the couple shared a kiss and stole off to their dance party.

Secret Garden Floral Inspired Nursery

I first spotted this adorable room on instagram, promptly saving it in my inspiration file to repost within a few days. Marie Flanigan has always been a favorite interior designer of ours (check out this gorg home and this pretty party!) so it was no surprise that she was the talent behind such a spectacular room. As fate would have it, Marie and her team sent me a note that very day to see if we wanted to share the entire space with our readers…the very definition of kismet! Read on to see the inspo behind the nursery crafted with TLC for her very own baby girl!

From Marie Flannigan Interiors…Step into the garden. Or, in this case, a chic, botanically-inspired nursery designed for our founder’s charming baby girl.  A floral mural directs the room’s color story, while gold leaf-painted paneling, antique accents, and Hunt Slonem bunnies lend an exquisite sense of whimsy. A Jenny Lind crib rests atop an Oushak rug offering a view of the antique carved mirror and white linen bird and branch mobile above.

A macramé chandelier, antique brass sconces, and linen drapery on a Lucite and un-lacquered brass rod offer up precious light control. Double closets and a campaign style lacquered dresser provide ample storage, while a cane daybed with roll-out trundle allows the room to grow with its stylish little inhabitant over time.

From Marie…“My favorite feature is the garden-inspired wallpaper! Framed by bright white paneling, its vibrant, painterly hues feel warm, tailored, and inviting. I designed the room for my newborn daughter, making this project a true labor of love[pun intended!].

We live in a historic neighborhood where square footage is at a premium, entirely focused on creating a welcoming, multi-purpose space that’s sophisticated enough to grow with her overtime.

I approach design with the same goals in mind, no matter the client’s age. It’s all about creating moments that enhance daily living, and I love how kids’ rooms invite us all to have some fun! Much of a child’s day is spent on the floor in play, which always offers a dynamic new perspective.

Plush area rugs, stimulating hues, ample storage, and multi-purpose furnishings reign supreme, and I can’t get enough of that cane daybed in particular. This was my third baby and first girl, a fact that clearly contributed to the look and feel of the room!

Inspired by my home’s historic Craftsman style, I started with gold-leaf paneling and whimsical wallpaper to enhance the room’s distinctive architectural detailing in a fresh, interesting way. From there, it was all about curating an eclectic mix! We layered up on mid-century modern, boho, and contemporary design elements for a chic play on traditional nursery style.

This Is How to Pull off the Ultimate Tuscan Wedding Weekend (Including an Epic Pizza Party!)

A pizza party, a winery venue, romantic rolling hills, an al fresco reception… yeah, this is a Tuscany wedding weekend done oh-so right. Don’t mind us, we’ll just be living vicariously through this dreamy Italian weekend thanks to Purewhite Photography‘s beautiful photos, filled with all the delicious carbs a girl could ask for. The Tuscan Wedding truly thought of everything to make the couple’s destination weekend one to remember, from beginning to end! Don’t miss out on the full gallery!

From The Tuscan WeddingThe lovely Elizabeth & Andrew wanted a destination wedding and looked for a location with delicious food and wine, an abundance of romantic energy and beautiful landscapes – so what better location than Tuscany? The duo paired with The Tuscan Wedding to create the most magical wedding of their dreams!

To truly get have their wedding guests acclimate to the fabulous Italian food culture, the couple hosted a Welcome Pizza Party for all of their guests when they arrived: the pizza party had more than just a selection of delectable pizzas, but also an assortment of delicious salads and savory pastas! The day after, The Tuscan Wedding arranged for them an amazing Rehearsal dinner at the beautiful Dievole Wine Resort the evening before the big day to welcome all of the lovely guests! This charming evening had a perfect view of all the spectacular Tuscan landscapes.

The next morning, Elizabeth looked amazing in her elegant satin gown. Cherrie Spisso perfected this gorgeous look with a soft makeup paired with a romantic low bun with loose curls. And her bridal party looked just as stunning in their black satin dresses with a small bouquet in their hands.

The Tuscan Wedding created the dreamiest ceremony ever with white rose petals along both sides of the aisle and a circle altar around the bride and groom, done with greenery
and flowers thanks to the creative Flowers Living. After the entrance of the beautiful bridesmaids, the bride made her appearance at the end of the aisle and walk down escorted by her father. The pair exchanged their meaningful vows in front of the groom’s father, who celebrated the wedding, and sealed the ceremony with a kiss symbolizing their new life together! Guests were given elegant white rose petals to shower the newlyweds as they exited the ceremony.

Now, for the real celebrations The Tuscan Wedding organized a fabulous reception in the garden with the most heavenly details – antique silver candelabras everywhere that magically lit up the night! Fabulous ivory, white and light and dusty pink floral arrangements with textured greenery were at every table.

The catering from Dievole Wine Resort served the most delicious dishes ever! The three-course meal began with a green risotto with wild herbs and goat cheese. Next, a homemade traditional Tortello was served with truffle, pears, honey and truffle caviar. For the main course, a savory roasted cinta chestnut and honey. Each course was a meal in itself, yet guests knew they had to save room for the delicious four tiers wedding cake made by the Sugarcups and decorated with a cascade of flowers.

After the cake, the lovely guests headed to the dance floor to hear amazing songs from the talented Matthew DJ who kept them moving to every song all night! The most mesmerizing light design was beautifully done by Wedding Music and Lights leaving guests in awe for hours! Purewhite Photography and Waterfall Visuals captured this fairytale of an evening in the most magical way – so beautifully done.

Elizabeth & Andrew are truly made for one another and we wish the lovely couple a life of love and happiness for all of eternity! Our team is so appreciative to have worked with such an incredible couple and an amazing team for creating this picture-perfect evening!

Proof That a Non-Traditional Wedding Venue Is Key for a Wow-Worthy Wedding

Today’s gorgeous couple kicked tradition to the curb and decided to tie the knot in one of San Francisco’s most iconic museums – the Legion of Honor. SmittenKiss Weddings and Events knew exactly how to dress up the clean lines and historic charm of the building with speciality floral from Vo Floral Design and a neutral color palette with subtle pops of blue hues. Trust us people – the full gallery, captured by the always fabulous Jen Huang, is an absolute MUST.

From SmittenKiss Weddings and EventsNikki and Michael’s love started on the beautiful grounds of where they worked, Stanford University. While their love unfolded, so did their world travels. The couple trotted the globe while enjoying the finest cuisines from the most touted restaurants in the world. When they started the journey of wedding planning, they knew they wanted something timeless, something artful and something classic. It was important that 15 years from now, they would look back and still feel the elegance of each detail.

Michael placed emphasis on the venue, while Nikki placed emphasis on the photography, but both agreed the ambiance found in the environment, the robust flavors of food and the decorative elements to be just as important. The Legion of Honor is one of the most beautiful and iconic museums in San Francisco. Just looking at the columns and the courtyard’s clean lines, one is captivated by the powerful silence surrounding the facility.

The couple paid attention to every aspect of their wedding. The level of detail down to the color of textiles, the aromatic lavender and yuzu flavors of the mocktails and how each stem of floral and fig was placed, was not dismissed. Though we knew September was welcoming fall, unlike the east coast California doesn’t quite get the autumn swept streets, but we created a heavenly foliage backdrop for the couple. We didn’t want to get lost in a muted palette and so blue hues found it’s way into the picture. Specialty floral and cheese gauze runners were strategically placed.

It was an honor to plan and design their wedding. We worked with an wonderful group of talented vendors and will be forever grateful for the magic that happened that evening. Setting up a wedding of that caliber on restricted time was a challenge but the team as a whole was beyond amazing, and the evening produced a glorious result.

See How This Minimalistic Industrial Venue Turned Into A Romantic Indoor Garden

With a mix of light and dark and, minimalistic and romantic details, this inspiration shoot is everything, bringing what you wouldn’t typically expect together to create absolute perfection, all dreamed up by Crowned Events! An industrial backdrop was the venue of choice and Building 177 was the perfect fit for Organic Flora to create a hanging floral installation for the ceremony and lush and playful blooms for the centerpieces. Pura Soul captured all of the beauty in the modern, whimsical details including the brides stunning off the shoulder Galia Lahav gown! Go ahead and start saving not one, but all of these images for your own wedding day!

From Skylar Stetten of Pura Soul PhotographyWhether you’re a planner, a bride, a florist, or a photographer, it’s not easy to make a large space feel small–but somehow this group did it. For this shoot, the hanging ceremony arch installation helped to lower the ceiling and make the venue feel more intimate. The flowers that flooded the tables filled up space with their overflowing opulence, not to mention they were locally sourced from the florist’s home garden! And most of all, the Galia Lahav dress showed up front and center with its couture beading and romantic sleeves that made up this minimalist-maximalist shoot.

From Crowned EventsThe inspiration behind this design stemmed from the desire to fuse styles that we generally find in opposition to each other– dark and light, moody and romantic, clean lines and delicate details. Pura Soul’s expertise in fine art photography, Organic Flora’s timeless aesthetic and Crowned Events love for adding a modern spin to classic design produced a synthesis of contemporary ideas and refined presentation. We knew Building 177’s vaulted ceiling, modern white columns and open-air feel were the perfect canvas to showcase this concept.

Organic Flora’s ceremony installation created a sense of whimsy and grandeur which we grounded with the clean, midcentury lines of Catalog Atelier’s Leigh and James chairs. Sarah, of Beauty Bespoken, kept our bride looking fresh and beautiful, highlighting her natural features. Our bride wore a stunning oval-halo Honey Jewelry Co ring and a gorgeous, ultra-feminine Galia Lahav dress that we feel complimented the softness in the ceremony installation and playfulness of her bouquet.

For the tablescape, we knew Catalog Atelier’s sleek glassware and marble chargers would be the perfect compliment to Borrowed Blu’s clear + white Siren plates and matte black Luna flatware. We added organic cotton Fawn napkins, a dark velvet linen, and a slate blue table runner to introduce some varying texture and movement through textiles. Organic Flora’s arrangements featured soft pink, lush blooms, adding a feeling of delicacy to our tablescape. We used unexpected mediums, such as acrylic and leather, to create special details like candle holders and name cards. Sophia of Sophia Loves Letters’ entire suite captured the essence of light vs dark and soft vs hard we hoped to communicate in all aspects of our design.

We wanted to show you how you can embrace the beauty of a venue in your own state, while still having your favorite trends from destination weddings across the world! Planned by Copper + Chloe, we wanted to strike the balance between romantic and soft but also play with lots of layers of texture to create a setting that wowed and transported guests to a different country.

Faye + Renee designed a breathtaking structure over the table that included billowing silky drapery, floating chandeliers, and lush florals in hues of pink with bleached pampas grass and cascading orchids for dimension. They also created an jaw-dropping lounge area from their collective line that was filled with velvet textures, chandeliers, the most beautiful furniture, and lush flowers everywhere.

Barely Blushink created an invitation suite that would be sure to set the tone and get guests excited to escape to another world for a day! For a new play on escort cards, Erica created custom calligraphy name sashes to adorn every chair.

The bride wore two different looks by Alexandra Grecco – an elegant lace long-sleeve gown for the first half of the day and then a subtly-sexy plunging neckline gown for the reception. Bella Belle Shoes made sure the look was romantic from head to toe! Having Cassi Claire capture all of the beautiful moments in her romantic and timeless photography style was the final touch to help us execute our vision!

All The Designers We Loved from New York Bridal Fashion Week 2019

New York Bridal Fashion Week 2019 defined bridal #goals. Picture a week full of jaw-dropping gowns with trains for miles, eloquent, hand-applied embellishments, cascading, cloud-like skirts… you get the idea! The team at SMP team had the privilege of attending, and today, they’re back to report on some of their favorite shows debuting trends for 2020. Scroll on to get the scoop and get ready to start swooning.

Eisen Stein

Eisen Stein Fall’s 2020 Collection delivered a “wild wings” theme in a way that was tasteful, clever, and even a bit thrilling. From crystal-accented gowns with foliage-like arrangements, to feather details, and plunging necklines with flowing trails, every strut down the runway was filled with magical and unexpected moments, just like the wilderness vibe behind it.

Monique Lhullier

There’s no shortage of florals with this designer, and her 2020 Fall Collection was no exception to this. With a “celebration of life” beat, each runway debut included lively renditions of botanical prints and appliques so indicative of the seasons of life. With accents like billowing leaves, removable capes, and color, color, color (!) the selection was fun and uplifting, just like Lhullier’s main message behind the showcase.

Inbar Frieman

Inbar Freiman’s 2020 Wild Feather Collection appeased the appetite of every New York Bridal Fashion Week attendee. Her dresses were form-flattering and detail-oriented with their unique beading and accents, but they were also effortless and every day practical too. Made with quality, breathable fabrics, they promise to feel just as wonderful as they look.

Galia Lahav

Lead designers, Galia Lahav and Sharon Sever, paid homage to the sea and all its mystifying qualities in their 2020 IX Bridal Collection. Viewers were dazzled by sequins (reminiscent of water droplets), striking metals (mirroring the scales of sea creatures), and hypnotic, mermaid-like silhouettes. The power and beauty behind every style that swam, er, strutted down the aisle were mesmerizing and refreshing, akin to that of a rising and falling tide in a great watery oasis.

Anne Barge

With Anne Barge celebrating 20 years of wedding style, her 2020 Fall Collection included a showcase of the evolution of her selections. Starting with old-school vintage and feminine styles, transitioning to bold tulle and 3D textures, and ending with present-day jumpsuits and illusion necklines, each phase of the fashion house’s history was represented in a tasteful and meaningful way, much to the delight of the 2020 bride.

Maggie Sottero

Between Maggie Sottero, Sottero and Midgley, and Rebecca Ingram, the three labels (under the same umbrella) provide excellent options. Their 2020 collection exemplifies this by offering a little something for every new bride. From short, playful frocks, to trendy off-the-shoulder looks, to intricate geometric lace, each option encapsulates a different look and feel. Just take this lovely new Rebecca Ingram design, for example. Paired with sweet tulle straps and an intricate bodice, it could cater to either a rustic *or* romantic bride.

Berta

In Berta’s 2020 Napoli Collection, you’ll still see the designer’s signature sleek cuts and unique fabrications used. One differentiation to note here, however, is the new type of fabrics, embroidery, and beading shown. The new-to-us parade of glitz and glamour was a crowd-pleaser. (Just wait until you see it too!)

32-Feet Long, 650 Blooming Branches and 50 Hanging Votives – This Is the Head Table of All Head Tables.

Go big or go home, are we right?! For today’s glamorous wedding, Rebecca Reategui, Nancy Liu Chin and The Vessel SF created a jaw-dropping 32-foot long structure to complete their head table that featured 650 cherry blossom branches, 50 hanging votives, and delicately hand-painted details – now that’s one dedicated vendor team!! You’re just going to have to see it to truly appreciate its splendor. Don’t miss the full gallery captured by Larissa Cleveland Photography to see all the heavenly moments.

From Rebecca Reátegui Weddings and Special Events… As we worked with our couple, Akane and Aaron, to establish a design direction for their wedding day, Akane was consistently drawn to white blooming branches, especially cherry blossoms. Once Akane had selected her wedding dress, which was a stunning, ethereal gown by Oscar de la Renta with delicate blossom detail throughout the bodice and sleeves, our design inspiration was solidified! Wedding guests were given the first hint of the wedding design when they received their save-the-dates and invitation suite. The custom stationery, designed by Studio Luzance, featured a delicate monogram in matte gold foil with blooming branches encircling their intertwined calligraphed A’s. We loved the design with the joining of the two A’s, both for its visual interest and its symbolism, with the two A’s – Akane and Aaron – joining together in marriage.

To complement the monogram design, a variety of custom cherry branch illustrations were woven throughout the invitation suite, including a subtle white-on-white design on the vellum wrap, a blossom on the wax seal and a small branch on their custom stamps. For the ceremony design, Aaron and Akane liked the concept of a floral structure visually framing them for the ceremony, and their monogram design was the perfect source of inspiration for the shape and floral elements. Our wonderful florist, Nancy Liu Chin, created a lovely wreath of white blooming branches as the ceremony backdrop, with a second floral ring that greeted guests at the beginning of the aisle as they were seated for the ceremony. To create a focal point on the open dining lawn, we planned for a grand head table with a standing structure overhead. Working with The Vessel SF, we designed a custom 32-foot long gold structure, which Nancy Liu Chin’s team laced with 650 blooming branches and adorned with 50 hanging votives. Nancy’s incredibly dedicated team painstakingly hand-painted the wires from which the votives hung, so that they would match the structure’s gold color.

To echo the splendor above, the center of the tabletop was replete with romantic florals which featured the bride’s favorites: sweet peas, ranunculus, peonies, garden roses, lisianthus, and bleached Italian ruscus. The guests sitting at the round tables, which encircled the head table, also enjoyed dining under a canopy of blooming branches in the form of trees, which also featured hanging votives and lush florals at the base. On the tabletops, the blossom motif appeared in the table linen overlays, embroidered with delicate blooming branches in soft white and gold, as well as on the custom gold foil-pressed menus with the couple’s monogram. Even the scalloped, gold-edged china gave a nod to the blossom design. Specialty glassware edged in gold and linen napkins with a metallic thread completed the look. After dinner, guests were invited into the ballroom for dancing and dessert. Lounge furniture from Urban Parlour added sophisticated seating to guests who needed a break from dancing to their fun 8-piece band, All Access. Later in the evening, guests were surprised with the couple’s favorite late-night snack: a ramen bar, which was a huge hit, complete with Miso and Shoyu Broths, Volcano Kimchi, Bok Choy, Bean Sprouts, Thai Basil, Green Onions and Sweet Chili Sauce! Sugarfina favors added a sweet ending to the evening.

From Akane, the Bride… Even though it was our wedding day, it just didn’t truly feel like it was “our” day until I finally got to see Aaron at the first look. It made me feel at ease to see him just as nervous and excited as I was with the idea of finally walking down the aisle together after more than a decade since we first met in New York. After our first look and some family photos, it was time for us to walk down the aisle. I would have to say, it was such an indescribable feeling to walk down the aisle filled with all our close friends and family with my father by my side. At that moment, we officially knew that the day was happening! Every piece of the wedding was a dream come true from the scenery to the decor, floral arrangements, music, and food as well as the heartfelt speeches from the closest people in our lives. I have to admit however, we never fully understood the joy of doing a first dance until we experienced it on our wedding day and found it was one of the best parts of the day for us. It was one of the moments we got to fully enjoy ourselves together while surrounded by the people that are truly special to us. One of my dreams for my wedding was to fill up the venue with cherry blossom branches. My vision for the wedding was to have floral arrangements that were airy and delicate yet a design where you could still see the strong structure that was supporting the delicate arrangements. The elements of cherry blossom branches just had the perfect balance of what I was looking for. I do find it to be a bit of a coincidence that I wanted to incorporate cherry blossoms (known as “sakura” in Japanese), which is a flower that has such a strong cultural connection to Japan, into our special day. Perhaps part of me wanted to subconsciously incorporate my heritage into an ultimate California style wedding.

Modern Meets Bollywood With This Multi-Faceted Wedding That You Have to See!

Multiple wardrobe changes, multiple decor changes, and a party at The London in West Hollywood, anyone would want to attend! For Brandon & Vikas, they wanted anything but traditional for their wedding day reception – from a Bollywood themed cocktail hour, to a reception with lounge furniture and ALL of the dancing, all planned by Jacqueline Hallgarth and envisioned by groom and groom! The Hidden Garden beautifully crafted multiple floral arrangements to fit the couple’s multi-faceted day from ceremony to cocktail hour, to reception and Lucas Rossi Photography captured it all perfectly. Take a peek and consider having a different theme for every portion of your special day!

From the Couple…We did not want our wedding reception to in any way feel traditional, uncomfortable, formal, or awkward for our guests. Instead, we had a vision of a rooftop party in a lounge setting where guests were free to mingle with each other, move around easily, drink, dance, and be joyful. We wanted everyone to feel welcome, loved, and carefree. For the ceremony, we wanted bright, white, sunny, and clean. We envisioned some seating but mostly standing room only and the opportunity for our guests to meet each other before we arrived. And, for the cocktail hour between the ceremony and reception, we wanted full-scale Bollywood fun to honor Vikas’ heritage.

We wanted everything to feel bright, modern, and effortless. For the ceremony, the vision was bright white with black and silver accents, and a pop of red for the officiant’s dress. We knew this simple color palette would work well with our white flowers and the green flooring at The London. For the cocktail hour, the more color the better for the Indian theme, but we wanted it to look purposeful and seamless. The reception was designed to be a night-time version of the ceremony, so we went with darker colors – black, grey, and pulled some of the white from the ceremony. The overall style and vision was simple but luxe.

We designed everything ourselves with some expert guidance from our fantastic wedding planner, Jacqueline. We chose all of the furniture, tenting, flowers, music, favors, our own attire, and all other details. It’s always challenging to design a venue with only an idea of what it might look like – especially in the relatively large spaces at The London – but we were more than pleased with the result. One specific element that was particularly important to us was the cake. We wanted to blend the themes of simple and modern with traditional Indian and this resulted in beautiful large mehndi design on the multi-tiered cake, including a heart and peacock to symbolize special moments on a recent vacation in India. Many guests thought the cake was a sculpture and were surprised when we started our cake-cutting moment! We could not have been happier with the cake designed by The Butter End. We also had a figurine made by Doob on Melrose – an eight-inch replica of us that was part of the cake display.

Our favorite moment of the wedding was undoubtedly the exchange of vows and being able to share our love with our friends and family on such a beautiful afternoon. Other favorite moments were the Bollywood dancers during our cocktail hour, our choreographed dance to open the wedding reception (Josh Groban’s “More of You” combined with Rihanna’s “We Found Love”), the combined mother-son dance, and the toasts provided by Vikas’ sister and Brandon’s brother.

We chose flowers that reflected the style vision – simple but luxe. White flowers abounded – orchids, roses, and calla lilies – and we also added arrangements of succulents. We each wore five different ensembles to reflect the mood of each “chapter” of the wedding – ceremony (white tux jackets), cocktail hour (traditional Indian attire both us as well as the entire wedding party), reception (black tuxes), dancing (flashy jackets), and post-party (flashier jackets – ahem, sequins). For favors, we wanted to choose something classy, meaningful, and edible. We knew that macarons from Bottega Louie would be a hit and we were correct!

It’s important to put a great deal of thought and time into creating your vision for your wedding. It’s equally important to partner with a fantastic wedding planner and we were very lucky to find Jacqueline. As well as our brilliant photographer, Lucas Rossi. But once the planning is done and everything is set to go, it’s MOST important to step back, take a breath, and enjoy each and every moment. Weddings go by quickly but it’s so worth all the work to make your special day truly phenomenal.

The Night They First Met Became the Inspiration Behind Their Entire Wedding Day – and It Was Perfect.

Her effortlessly romantic dress, the soft lavender and peach blooms, the venue… these are just a few things we can’t stop obsessing over in today’s wedding planned by Lovestruck Events. The darling couple met on a crisp Spring night in the bride’s hometown. In a moment of kismet, they saw each other from across the bar and their connection couldn’t be denied. They talked for ours outside on a park bench as the bride glanced up and saw the budding trees and delicate blooms around them – it was the perfect inspiration for their Spring wedding day, two years later. We couldn’t be more in love with this couple or these photos by Jessica Blex Photography & Design – check out the full gallery here!

From Lovestruck EventsBetsy and Ryan’s wedding color palette was inspired by the peach and blush tones of the grand staircase at Joslyn Art Museum. We installed a clear top tent at the base of the stairs. Rather than walking straight to the tent from the museum parking lot, we invited guests to take the long route to the tent through the sculpture garden.

Betsy and Ryan’s guests were greeted with signature cocktails and passed canapés. Lanterns lit the path to the tent where large wooden planters were filled with dogwood, seasonal greens, and hand-lettered seating assignment posters. The sun set as wedding guests dined, so the soft patio bulbs strung from the tent and the warm candlelight on the tables created a warm glow in the tent. Guests were served a nontraditional wedding dessert of valrhona jivara milk chocolate mousse with a dark chocolate cake center. Each chocolate dome was topped with a chocolate ring and edible gold foil.

How They Met:

From the Bride… Our meeting happened by chance in late spring two years before we said “I do,” so we wanted our wedding to embody all things spring. The night we met, Ryan had dinner plans with a buddy at a restaurant that wasn’t open on that particular evening, so on a whim, they decided to go to a different restaurant and sat at the bar top for dinner. I was newly back in our hometown after working in a different city for several years. I was making rounds reconnecting with old friends when I stopped into that very same restaurant to say a quick hi to the bartender, a friend from college. That was the night that Ryan and I met for the first time, but it felt like we had known each other for years – lifetimes, maybe. We eventually made our way outside to a park bench and talked for hours catching each other up on what we had missed out on in one another’s lives. I remember looking up at the trees and seeing the bright green of the budding trees and blooms around us. This, I thought, this is the beginning of something I never want to forget.

About the Design & Advice:

The crisp spring air, bright greens, and soft fluttery flowers of that spring night became the inspiration for our wedding vibe. My advice to brides and grooms out there in the thick of planning their wedding is to pick two or three “must-have” items for your wedding and stick to them. The rest of your wedding details? Leave it to the creatives. This rule truly saved me from sweating the small stuff and being overly stressed out during the wedding planning year.

My must-haves were 1. A tent reception 2. Greens, greens, and more whimsical greens, and lastly 3. A band. For the rest of the details I enlisted the help of my amazing wedding planners, Candace and Lindsay, at Lovestruck. They did such a good job listening to our vision and bringing it to life. Every detail was perfect and we couldn’t have been any happier with how it turned out!

A True, Charming, Southern Wedding For These Childhood Sweethearts!

OK….this story completely melted my heart, when I read it; from the fact that the groom asked the bride to be his girlfriend when they were just 13 years old, to the utterly romantic proposal story! And, it just kept going once the wedding planning started! Meredith and John had THE most charming, Southern wedding at The Capital City Club with overflowing florals by Jackson Durham and a variety of perfectly paired linens by La Tavola! Chancey Charm Wedding Planning & Design brought the bride’s vision to life and Dear Elouise created the dream, custom invitation to set the tone for the day! To top it all off, Amy Arrington Photography was behind the lens, capturing every special moment from details to dancing! Check it out below, and be sure to read their story!

From the Bride…Our story began when I was thirteen years old and John asked me to be his girlfriend. His mom loves to tell the story of when he came home one day from school and told her “I am going to marry her one day”. Fast forward to Christmas Eve 2017. We were up at Lake Burton with my family and everyone was getting ready to go to dinner at the Waterfall Club (little did I know that the club was actually closed for the holidays). We pull up and there were rose petals and candles everywhere leading to the entrance of the club. I remember thinking to myself “this is very romantic for a Christmas dinner”. We open the front doors to the biggest Christmas tree, a band and all of our family members anxiously waiting for our arrival. John got down on one knee and asked me to be his wife. I was so excited I started hugging and kissing him and all of our family before I could even remember to put the ring on! We went on to have a beautiful dinner with our families and danced the night away.

Growing up I loved looking through my mother’s wedding album. I knew that I wanted to have a wedding that would never go out of style and that would be classic. I immediately started searching for the venue and the perfect planner. Thankfully I found Shelley Legg for Chancey Charm Weddings who helped me bring my vision to life flawlessly. Picking a planner was one of the hardest decisions for me to make and the second I talked to her I knew she was the perfect fit! It took a little while to find our venue but we landed on Capital City Club in Brookhaven. We decided to have a sailcloth tent out on the driving range lit up with twinkle lights. Green is my favorite color so I incorporated that as much as I could and stuck to neutral colors. One of my favorite parts about planning our wedding was designing all of our paper goods. Brent Fraim at Dear Elouise completely made all of my invitation dreams come true. You think about your wedding day since you were a little girl and being able to hold your invitation in your hand is one of the coolest parts leading up to your big day.

Our dogs mean everything to us and because we couldn’t have them there with us we decided to have Dear Elouise design specialty cocktails after them. We also wanted to have something different than a place card so we wrote everyone’s names on the leaf of a pear. We wanted to make the entrance a statement so we hired Jackson Durham to build a beautiful arch of flowers around the entrance of the tent. They also designed a beautiful champagne display. Sitting in each champagne flute was an acrylic table assignment. We really enjoyed The SlowMotion Booth. We decided to have them there instead of your typical photo booth and it was such a hit! Our guests couldn’t stay away and it was such a treat to be able to go back and watch everyone’s videos after our wedding day.

One of the most fun parts of our big day was the trolley ride that we took with our wedding party and family from the church to the reception. We popped champagne and laughed until our knees hurt. It was a really special time we got to spend with our best friends. Our wedding planner pulled us aside once we got to our venue and let us have a little meal together just us two before we went into cocktail hour. It was a time I will cherish forever. Looking back on our wedding day we appreciate having all of our friends and family together in one place…because at the end of the day that’s all you have! I cannot stress enough to brides that your wedding day is about you and your husband. Enjoy it, relax, have fun and don’t worry about anything else!
