3 Steps To Picking The Perfect Wedding Venue

One of the first things on your wedding to-do list is picking the right venue, but where to begin? From the overall look and feel to the impact on guest experience, your venue plays an important part in your special day. We’re sharing three steps to picking a venue that will feel just right, alongside this beautiful engagement shoot at Greystone Mansion in Beverly Hills. Taryn Grey Photography artfully shot this engagement session at a location that she says, “perfectly complimented the couple’s chic, sophisticated sense of style.” Read on to find your perfect venue match, and don’t forget to head to the full gallery for the rest of the beautiful imagery.

1. Think big picture.

If you’ve always dreamt of a formal wedding then a ballroom might better suit you than the beach. Think of the overall theme you are going for, and how your venue can help you tell the overarching story you are trying to create.

2. Consider your guest list.

Think of yourself as goldilocks. You don’t want a venue that is too big or too small for your guest list, you want one that is just right. Save yourself some trouble by having an estimate of the number of people that will be attending before you consider a space.

3. Stay true to yourself.

If you’ve always dreamt of getting married in the woods, don’t push that thought to the side. Remember this is your Big Day, your way. Do what feels right for both of you as a couple, and the rest will all fall into place seamlessly.

From Taryn Grey PhotographyThis chic, fashion forward engagement session had to be one of my absolute favorites. In my initial consults with my clients, it is always important for to me to get to know and understand my couple’s aesthetic on a deeper level. Rachel and Tayo lightheartedly admitted that for their engagement session, they didn’t see themselves frolicking through a field or on a beach, and wanted something more refined and fashion forward. After reviewing a couple of their inspiration photos of Harry & Megan’s engagement, I knew we needed to go with a location that would showcase their sense of style and sophistication. Greystone Mansion in Beverly Hill was my first choice, as there are very few locations that so perfectly blend classic, refined architecture with gorgeous natural elements.

The very moment I saw Rachel step out of the car with her gorgeous Swiss dot Zimmermann gown & Tayo in his custom suit, I knew we had found the perfect location. I feel the property perfectly complimented this couple’s chic, sophisticated sense of style.

This Is the Ultimate Weekend Itinerary for a Destination Wedding in Puglia

Just when we thought we couldn’t be more in love with the whitewashed hill towns and charming farmlands of Italy’s beautiful region of Puglia, this wedding comes through and takes our breath away. Complete with a can’t-be-beat Italian wedding weekend itinerary from cooking classes to beach clubs, planned by Impression Villas & Weddings, we can’t help but live vicariously through Nastia Vesna Photography’s stunning imagery. Check out the full gallery for a one-way ticket to Italy’s most romantic wedding locale!

From Impression Villas & WeddingsBlush and gold inspired wedding in Puglia with a rustic feel. A beautiful couple Katie and Tom from Florida decided to get married in Puglia at the very end of September. Due to their work commitments, they could not come to Puglia in advance to pick the right venues to they relied entirely on their wedding planner and sister, who travelled to Puglia on her own to look at venues and choose the best place for them to get married.

Initially, they planned a wedding for a smaller number of guests but ended up had around 70 guests. Their first out of the four events was a fun cooking class at a nearby rustic masseria with pasta making and wine tasting. The next day was an evening welcome event with cocktails and buffet of local delicacies at a beautiful beach club, where despite late autumn it was very warm and sunny.

The third day was the wedding itself with a symbolic ceremony in a typical olive grove of Puglia with amazing olive trees. The maid of honour of Katie was her sister and the best man of Tom was his father. The processional and recessional song was played by an all ladies string quartet. Katie and Tom exchanged vows and rings, sealed their union with a kiss, and lead all the guests to aperitivo featuring his and her signature drinks (Aperol Spritz for Katie and Manhattan for Tom).

Aperitivo was followed by a rich local buffet of starters. Soon after Katie and Tom had their first dance played by an amazing upbeat and vibrant live band from the UK – Jam Hot Band with 4 lead singers. The dinner was served on two long tables decorated with rich greenery garlands with blush blossoms. Ivory, blush, pale pink colors were seen throughout the whole wedding floral decor, which looked very beautifully with golden tableware and small square bottles of olive oil. The cake cutting was followed but surprise fireworks.

From Jenna McElroy PhotoThis sweet real-life couple was able to renew their vows with their closest friends in attendance for this styled shoot turned vow renewal surrounded by the couple’s dearest friends.

Jen Seals, of Pearl Events, used rich tones, and drop-dead gorgeous florals to bring this sweet and intimate day to life! The inspiration of the day was a perfect mix of southern charm and deep rich tones, which matched perfectly with the venue setting.

Jen accentuated the bold table settings (yes there were 2 different style tables!) with a vibrantly patterned linen, and then had Gypsy Floral incorporate fruit into the table display to provide both tables filled with gorgeous textures. We wanted each groom to have a table representing his style of the day.

The rich tones of yellows, deep greens, and the hops that added a fun element to the Southern charm that Woodbine Mansion exudes. This was a wonderful day of celebrating the love of these two grooms!

The Soft Colors Of The Desert Inspired This Dreamy Editorial Shoot

Set in Arizona, this desert-inspired shoot is even prettier than a mirage. The delightful day was filled with carefully curated details, by Rachael Ellen Events, that have us convinced we’re dreaming. Just one look at the charming ceremony set-up filled with warm-toned florals is enough to make anyone swoon. The natural beauty of the setting and charming decor design was perfectly captured by none other than the ever-talented Lauren Fair Photography. Say hello to a desert oasis inside the full gallery.

From Lauren Fair PhotographyThis Arizona editorial was inspired by desert light, soft sand colors, and curved architecture with a European aesthetic. The beauty of the surroundings was perfectly complemented by the details of the design.

Our bride’s sparkly BHLDN gown was a show-stopper. It caught the light beautifully and upped the romance factor of the entire day.

The soft colors of the tablescape were inspired by the desert. The warm-toned table, adorned with florals and candlelight, felt like an inspired nod to Arizona.

A Scroll Stopping Winter Editorial With Two Gorgeous Gowns

Be still our hearts! This winter wonderland wedding inspiration is like stepping into the most fabulous of fairytales. The incredibly talented Becca Wong Events took an all-white color palette to the next level with her exquisite use of textures. She created a cool-girl take on classic romance that has our hearts skipping a beat. With her exceptional eye for detail, Michele Beckwith Photography artfully captured all of the magic. The incredible floral design was crafted by Mignon Floral Co. Trust us you’re going to want to see all the incredible imagery in the full gallery ASAP.

From Becca Wong EventsFor this shoot, we aimed to show a different side of winter romance with a modern and whimsical twist. Classic and elegant designs bring together a light and dreamy winter white inspiration.

Our bride wore two gowns by designer Galia Lahav. The first dress is made from feather-embroidered netting with 3D petals, mimicking the look of snow. The second dress is a glamorous fitted mermaid dress with sheer cutouts made from lace embroidered with intricate beads and crystal fringe, mimicking the look of icicles. These dresses show the two sides of winter, a gentle playful side as well as a fierce bold side.

Vintage silverware, delicate menus and place cards, bright white candles, crinkled runner over a soft white table cloth, ghost chairs and a clean palette transports guests to another realm for a romantic dinner. A clean white design concept embraces winter traditions without shying away from feminine touches and warmer neutrals.

10 Place Card Ideas You Haven’t Already Thought Of

Hoping to spice things up with your place cards? I sure do love a unique and nontraditional place card and hope you do too! Here are 10 place card ideas you haven’t already thought of that are oh so lovely!

Place Cards That Pay Homage to Your Roots

From Amorology, “For a fun spin on the traditional place card, we used wooden nesting dolls for Hanna + Will’s special Palm Springs day! Playing off of our “We are Family” theme, and Hanna’s Swedish roots the nesting dolls made the perfect one of a kind place card!”

Gorgeous Keys to the Party

Have guests make an official entrance with customized keys to the reception. Karson Butler Events designed the entire wedding around a mid-century modern theme and they keys to match.

A Wearable Favor

“For this Montana dinner, we purchased and personalized leather bracelets at a Western store and used them as napkin rings.  Guests could then sport their bracelet at the event, and during the rest of the weekend at the Ranch,” says Laurie Arons Special Events. Gorgeous florals by Mindy Rice Design in wooden boxes were a perfect complement.

Shape Your Paper to Fit Your Theme

Your paper place cards don’t have to be rectangular or even a conventional shape. Get creative by having them shaped into something that fits your theme.

Tie Your Place Cards into Your Environment

“Playing to our couple being married at their family beach house we had calligraphed fish tiles as their place cards,” says Amorology.

Who Says Toys Are Just for Kids?

I love the idea of turning a childhood toy into a place card. Plus, if your wedding is in NYC then something like these adorable toy taxis from Brilliant Event Planning perfectly represent your wedding city.

Ready to Drink on the Way to the Seat

Drinkable place cards? Yes, please! A summer bride of mine with Always Flawless Productions wanted a coconut cocktail for guests to sip while finding their seats.

A Cozy Touch

Laurie Arons Special Events certainly knows how to create a unique place card with calligraphy by Written Word. She shares, “These Palo Santo bundles were tied with copper threat and tagged with the guest’s name for a natural touch in the rustic setting. But they also doubled as a little favor – when burned, the mythical wood is said to cleanse negative energy.”

Personalize Each Card with a Message

Instead of creating place cards that simple state the guest name and the table number, write a personalized note to each guest or party. It’s a sweet touch!

Give Guests a Keepsake with a Botanical Touch

Pressed flowers certainly make a lovely statement. I adore these framed place cards that have their own pressed piece of greenery.

7 Things We Love About Spring Weddings (And the Must-Haves to Make the Magic Happen)

Let’s be honest, weddings are gorgeous any time of year, and each season brings with it opportunity for so many special touches. But we’d be lying if we said we didn’t have a special spot for spring nuptials. Once winter is over (we’re more than ready for it at this point), and the Earth shakes off its sleepies and starts to wake up, that warmth and color that returns sets the stage for truly stunning affairs. Just like weddings, fine art photography, can be epic no matter the season, but pretty sure its brillantly-lit aesthetic shines with the colors, the softness, the serenity of spring. And everything ends up looking like a French garden, one of our all-time favorite looks.

Some might argue that pastels are past their prime, but to that, we say, they always come to play. Plush pinks and icy blue hues, lush lavenders and cool mints – you really can’t go wrong with a spring palette – and, spoiler alert, you can always pair them with a metallic accent, be it platinum, silver, gold, or rose gold. The warmer weather, too, prompts some of the prettiest tented fetes and al fresco celebrations, which can only be made more perfect by champagne: drinkable all year long, but particularly sparkly March through June.

At Style Me Pretty, we get spring, it’s like our signature look in season form, so if you’ll be getting married this spring (or next, you can always start collecting now!), definitely hop on over to our brand new shop page and peep all the must-haves for your springtime soiree.

Read on for some of the best spring wedding trends and how to get the look for your own special day.

Fresh-faced, down to Earth makeup.

These days, brides are much more comfortable and confident rocking subtle makeup on their wedding days – and we’re so here for it! With her gorgeous gown, beautiful accessories, and a setting that’s straight-up dreamy, what bride needs to go crazy with her makeup? We love a balanced complexion with sky high, feathery lashes, and a statement punchy pout.

Very simple items to add to your makeup bag, and ours is so pretty – with gold foil accents and a tassel pull zipper, it can actually double as a chic clutch for the wedding! Especially if your gown is simple too!

A flower-floating champagne tower.

We said it before, right? Bubbles are fitting for any kind of fete, but in the spring, when coupes are coupled with floating florals, it’s just all the more stunning. Any cocktail hour with a champagne tower like this is bound to be unbelievably Instagram-worthy.

Every guest can take one, but the bride and groom’s drinks are off-limits… They can have their own pair to toast with: hers says ‘bride,’ his says ‘groom.’

By the way…

While we’d love to say that a champagne tower makes for an amazing escort card display, it’s still a little precarious for that… You can swap champagne flutes for toasting coupes at their tables, and have a calligrapher scribe each guest’s name. Our Parisian, doily style drink rim place cards are perfect for that!

Decorative napkin ring holders.

…Speaking of place cards, you can do so much when spring comes along. Our most recent favorite vibe involves pastel velvet napkins fanned out on glass plates ((and that gold rim 😍)). It feels so luxe, while also being so light and lithe.

Dress your napkins up with our beautiful place card rings, and you can even team it with floral stems or even a sprig of greenery for added charm. Either way, it reads utterly romantic and resplendent!

Special toasts with the best man and MOH.

A  lot of the time, the couple will have a toast with their parents directly following the ceremony or right after everyone’s been introduced into the reception, but we’re excited to see 2020 come through with many more toast opportunities for the guests of honor and their number twos. And what’s a more millennial way to do it than with neon signage that encourages all the spirits!

We’re big fans of our “But First, Drinks” and “Don’t Go Thirsty” light up signs. And can easily see them dressing up this major moment between besties. Wouldn’t you agree?

‘But First Drinks” Light Up Sign

Taper candles for each tablescape.

Flowers always make for the best centerpieces ((and in spring, the choice of blooms is beyond!!)), but the look is so much more elegant and romantic with supporting taper candles. It’s truly a mood. And can even make a large scale reception space feel incredibly intimate.

Blush and gold are dynamite color combinations, particularly if you have a lot of pinks, creams, and greens already in your wedding palette. And our unique tapers are actually ombre, so you can add two-tone color to your tables!

Single-tiered cakes with 3D detail.

Cakes are another evergreen component of the wedding day, but spring cakes are just so much sweeter for some reason! We love the small cake trend, especially when you can work with your pastry chef or bakery to go simple with the cake design, but blow out how it’s decorated. Pressed flowers are incredibly trendy, as are sugar flowers and floral piping on a fondant canvas.

Our white and gold ceramic cake stand is picture-perfect for a cake like this. Even if you choose to swap fondant for simple buttercream or even a semi-naked semblance, you can dress up a beautifully-bare look with candles or flower bunches.

Leave It To London For Timeless Elegance At Its Finest

This London wedding is timeless elegance at its finest. With a classic color palette of ivory and sage and reception tables flooded with florals and candlelight, we dare you not to swoon! The couple worked with Littleton Rose to make their stylish vision for their celebration a dream come true. Can we talk about the macaroon tower from Laduree for a minute?! Each special moment was perfectly captured by Kate Nielen. Enjoy all the darling details in the full gallery.

From Kate Nielen PhotographyWith family members traveling from abroad, making their guests feel welcome and looked after was a central focus of this celebration. Guests were invited to wear relaxed morning suits rather than black-tie or formal tails to ensure everyone felt comfortable.

Long dining tables clothed in ivory linen set off by sage green textured napkins spanned the length of The Conservatory at Syon Park. A collection of vases of varying heights and sizes ran along the tables. The floral design was natural and loose, predominantly in greens, creams, and whites but with a hint of delicately faded pastel. They were interspersed with glass candlesticks and low tea light holders, the lighting of which created a romantic glow as the sun slowly set during dinner.

Cathy & Val have a shared love of macaroons and therefore a Macaroon Tower from Laduree seemed the perfect choice to act as their wedding cake which guests happily tucked into before making their way to the dance floor. It was a day blessed with the grace of the English sunshine, a relaxed, family-centered, celebration within the grounds of beautiful Syon Park.

A Hidden Gem of a Venue Full of Natural Beauty Right In Golden Gate Park!

When you are set to say ‘I Do’ in a Conservatory of Flowers in the heart of Golden Gate Park, you know it’s going to be good! Then, add in tropical arrangements throughout by Amanda Vidmar Designs and it all gets even better! The couple, who live right around the corner wanted their guests to experience a hidden gem within San Francisco, and boy did they ever! With the help of Prim Event Studio, their day felt like you stepped into a lush, tropical garden in the middle of a busy city! Take a look below and see all that Kristine Herman Photography so beautifully captured and check out the full gallery here!

From Kristine Herman PhotographyStefanie and Mark were married in San Francisco at the Conservatory of Flowers. This couple lives just around the corner from this venue in Golden Gate Park and wanted their guests to experience a hidden gem of the city. They looked for a venue setting that was naturally beautiful, and you can’t top the breathtaking tropical galleries inside the conservatory for cocktail hour and Golden Gate Park views during dinner.

This couple wanted their day to feel energizing, joyous and fresh with bright pops of color. We played off of the tropical greenery vibes of the venue and electrified the palette with some vibrant pink tones which cascaded into many shades of pink and peach. Dinner tables were adorned in velvet jade linens to contrast with the beautiful all-white building and clean white chairs to keep the design feeling clean. We ended with a beautifully lighthearted yet modern design for this lively and fun-loving couple.

Weaving in the greenery of the venue, we opted for tropical-inspired stationery with mixed with clear acrylic and colored acrylic to play off the venue’s many glass windows and for a modern and sleek feel. Stef and Mark were married by the bride’s brother, who added lots of fun details about their relationship, including their worldly travels and sailing adventure to the Bahamas which the groom captained. Stefanie paid homage to her grandmother by carrying her vintage beaded purse throughout the day.

They selected a modern copper pipe chuppah which Amanda Vidmar Design adorned in electrifying dahlias and bougainvillea. Guests were welcomed to cocktail hour with the couple’s favorite beverage – margaritas and they enjoyed roaming the conservatories galleries. Inside, all of the acrylic was colored a beautiful pink to pop against the tropical greenery.

As guests headed back outside to dinner, they were delighted by the conservatory’s light show which illuminated the white conservatory in lots of brightly lit tones. Our bride and groom kicked off dinner with an explosive pop of a jeroboam of champagne and continued to celebrate throughout the night with a raging dance party and traditional Jewish dances.

Vines, Fruit and Flowers Inspired This Stunning Mountaintop Wedding at The Little Nell

After their church went through major renovations, this gorgeous couple fell so in love with the finished product that they felt inspired to emulate the beautiful designs throughout their wedding. The priest of the church described the feeling of entering the church as “entering the New Eden, the New Paradise with one foot on earth and one foot in Heaven”… so, with help from their lovely planner, Lovestruck Events, they added vines, fruit and blooming flowers to create the same heavenly experience for their guests. Don’t miss out on the full gallery, captured by Jessica Blex Photography & Design, to see all the details from this special Aspen wedding day.

From Lovestruck EventsAs outdoor enthusiasts, Maggie and Matthew chose Aspen, one of their favorite vacation destinations, for their Summer wedding. Participating in a religious ceremony was of great importance to the couple, so they chose St. Mary’s Church for their traditional nuptials. The catholic church underwent major renovation in 2018 in which the church employed architectural specialists from New York to restore the 125 year old building. After the building’s structural integrity was reconstructed, muralists artfully filled the sanctuary with ethereal, nature-inspired paintings that created both a joyful and dignified ambiance.

When asked about the inspiration for the renovation, the local priest described entering the church as “entering the New Eden, the New Paradise with one foot on earth and one foot in Heaven”. The stained glass windows, architectural features, and decorative paintings throughout the church are filled with images of vines, fruit and flowers that symbolize this New Eden. Drawing similarities between this divine visual concept and the things Maggie and Matthew love about Aspen – the harmonious mix of humble, rugged surroundings with breathtaking, otherworldly beauty – we designed their entire wedding celebration around the “New Eden” imagery. The invitation suite included the couple’s names hand-lettered with exaggerated glyphs that formed the shape of fruit and birds.

In order to mix the feeling of organic and ethereal, the stationery was printed on triple thick, highly-textured cotton paper and stamped with gold foil. The envelope liner was foiled onto textured, silver metallic paper with a pattern pulled from an altar mural. The shape of the die-cut detail cards was inspired by a motif that repeated across the walls of the church’s nave. The paper suite was accented with a soft mist color on the beveled edge of the main invite and the stationery envelopes. This blue-green tone was incorporated throughout the wedding from the Dream Weaver bridesmaid gowns to the custom chinoiserie murals adorning the reception. Guests enjoyed cocktail hour, dinner, and dancing at the top of The Little Nell. Guests were greeted by a floral escort display designed to create a gateway to the most glorious view of the mountains.

The asymmetrical floral arch created an impactful entrance without impeding the breathtaking view. Custom-made lattices anchored the arch and featured diamond-shaped escort cards (another nod to the church murals) with foil-stamped fruit glyphs and hand- lettered seating assignments. Guests were offered passed cocktails and canapés during cocktail hour. Signature drinks were served at a wooden bar wrapped with a hand-painted chinoiserie mural. At the bride’s special request, we brought in llamas dapperly dressed in bow-ties and floral wreaths to provide a photo opportunity for the guests. The lodge dining space was softened with textured linen draping and custom lampshades painted with the same chinoiserie pattern from the cocktail bar. The lights were accented with green vines to evoke the feeling organic growth down the fixtures. The tables were draped with linen in a mixture of light blue and celadon colors. Select tables were adorned with patterned linen to create movement throughout the dining room. The centerpieces were arranged to look like artful still-life paintings with lush floral centerpieces accented with bowls of fruit. The regal place settings featured gold and blush tones, and the scalloped shape of the dinner charger tied in the design motif from the invitation suite. Guests dined on a four-course meal and danced with an energy-filled band before descending down the mountain in the ski gondolas through the dark, peaceful sky.

From Details DarlingThe vibe of the wedding was to have everything feel very romantic with lots of blush, creams, and whites. Through florals, we echoed this look with lots of whimsical greenery and romantic blooms. From a beautifully draped ceremony pergola to greenery lining the stairway banisters as guests entered into the reception.

The reception was composed of farm tables topped with Aurora Ivory La Tavola table runners, and rounds were dressed up in beautifully textured Lacy Pearl linens. While all the tables had beautiful organically shaped floral arrangements, the long head table looking out over the LA skyline had a show-stopping blooming garland.

There was no better way to create a romantic evening than to have a canopy of string lights lighting up the sky above the reception. It lit up the sky and really brought the romantic feel we were going for to a whole new level.

You’ll Love The Cable Car At This Stylish San Francisco Wedding

We’ve heard about arriving in style, but how about in your very own cable car?! This couple transported their entire bridal party from the ceremony to reception in a quintessential San Francisco way for a big wow. The inspired ballroom celebration, beautifully orchestrated by Bustle Events, was dripping with greenery throughout the space. The sweet snaps of the day were artfully captured by Anna Marks Photography. Visit the full gallery for a closer look at all the darling details.

From Bustle Events… The bride and groom married at the iconic Saints Peter and Pauls Church surrounded by their family and friends from all over. After the ceremony, Katie, Phil, and their bridal party hopped on a cable car and made their way to the Bentley Reserve for their reception.

The reception space reflected the couple’s love for modern clean lines and still had touches of organic and boho style. We started with a modern edgy place setting consisting of black, warm gold and greys. Laura’s Floras created the most beautiful green and white centerpieces with lots of overflowing vines and greenery.

After dinner guests enjoyed cake from the couple’s favorite bakery Susie Cakes and in honor of Phils New Orleans roots the bridesmaid participated in the cake pull from the groom’s cake. Guests danced the night away and delighted in the magic of the day.

Round Up: Statement Chairs

Here’s the deal, we love a nice little hack that can economically bring the style of your home from a 5 to a 10, and nothing does that quite as well as a statement chair.

We have a strong argument to believe that the type of chair you put in your home can define your style.

Typically, accent chairs like to come in pairs and work together to define the look of your home.

A statement chair is typically a singular chair that is placed in your home to do what the name insinuates — make a statement. Now these can also come in pairs, but a statement chair also gives you the flexibility and freedom to act on a GREAT find without feeling the need to make it a set.

Statement chairs also typically break outside of the classic definition of styles — meaning we could try to sound smart and name these chairs but we’d get like 9/10 wrong.

But, the best thing about the statement chair is its ability to make even the MOST mundane space jazz up. So whether you’re renting, filling out your first home or slowly replacing your college furniture, getting a *good* chair can really step up your style.

So now that we’ve given a little background information, the real beauty of these chairs comes when looking at them, so take a look and getchu a statement chair for your own home! And at the bottom, we linked up some of our favorite statement chairs for your general perusing.

We did this wedding without flowers, we only used tropical leaves, a monochromatic style, and modern elements. From the acrylic invitations to the custom made ceremony backdrop every detail was well thought out.

The entire celebration was filled with style, elegance, and extravagance. It was a destination wedding that was certainly worth it for guests to travel for!

Bold Blue Living Room Filled with DIY Hacks

This living room tour by Chari Herndon is just FAB. They way she spiced up her furniture with some bold DIY hacks proves that you can do anything that you put your mind to. We’re obsessed.

I get so many questions about my bold and colorful space, and how I maximized the space in a smaller living room. I decorated my 805sqft uptown Houston apartment on a budget.

I purchased all of my decor, accents , and furniture from Wayfair, IKEA, and Target. I completed DIY hacks on my IKEA coffee table, bookshelf, and barcart (I love a good IKEA hack).

Color, is one thing I am not afraid of in my home, and cobalt blue and gold reign true in my space. My artwork was commissioned by the artist, Whitey Austin, who created my 3 one of a kind canvas paintings for my space. It’s always been a dream of mine to own black artwork, and these three paintings are my most prized possessions. I am the blogger behind chichomestyle. Com.

I love entertaining, so I wanted to style a space that’s welcoming, but also is a reflection of my bold and bubbly personality. A space that is lively and full of color.

I have often times felt restricted as to what I can do with a a space I’m renting. It’s pushed me to be more creative with my styling, and design choices, and I think I’ve successfully designed a home that is the perfect reflection of me!

An Autumn Estate Wedding That Overflows With Elegance

Hello gorgeous! If you love classic elegance, then this is the wedding inspiration for you. From a candlelit barn ceremony filled with greenery as far as the eye could see to a ballroom reception that will take your breath away, we are adoring every inch of this celebration! Outdoing themselves as always Faye and Renee Floral And Event Design created a fairytale experience from start to finish, and the magic of Lauren Fair Photography was there to capture it all in swoon-worthy pictures. Head on over to the full gallery, this is one you won’t want to miss!

From the bride… We envisioned the day as an elegant, timeless aesthetic with French estate glamour and an intimate feel. I always dreamed of wearing Galia Lahav on my wedding day, and it was a dream come true when I stepped into my custom long-sleeve lace gown sparkling from head to toe and draped with pearls.

We imagined a romantic, luxurious, modern fairytale ceremony dripping with green and white flowers from floor to ceiling, and lots and lots of candles. As I walked down the aisle the sun was setting, the violins were playing and the barn was overflowing with white and green flowers. It was such a romantic moment that I’ll never forget.

One of my favorite moments was when Joe and I walked into the ballroom to see the rest of my vision come to life! Faye and Renee Floral And Event Design were there to greet us and the raw emotion we had in that moment will never be forgotten, I was speechless!

7 Must-Know Rules for Creating the Perfect Gallery Wall

What’s the last thing you do when you’re getting ready to go out on Friday night? Put jewelry on, right? It’s the final step that completes your look. Well, I like to think about my home the same exact way, from glowing candles tucked in corners to luxe throws and of course, art on the walls. Ah, the gallery wall—the one thing we all still have on our home to do list. Well, throw procrastination out the door friends because we’ve got Agata Dimmich of Passion Shake walking us through the step-by-step today!

From Agata Dimmich of Passion ShakeMy favorite part of each interior project is definitely decorating! In case you thought I preferred having concrete on my face, paint under my nails, cleaning or have a back pain from carrying furniture, nope. I don’t. I’m much more happy when I get to play with the pretty things – like hanging Art.

The most important thing about the gallery wall is WHAT the wall says and I guess if my could speak, we would be having a relaxed kind of conversations. I’m definitely one of these people who like to be surrounded by pretty pieces which get me in a good mood, nothing too heavy or dark. So, today I will share with you a few tips and tricks I follow each time when hanging art.

1. Choose color palette

This is quite important, unless you are going for a totally eclectic and random look. To make your gallery wall coherent, try to think about main colors you want to see and choose your art accordingly (I would go with 3 main colors, in my case it was pink (kind of predictable!) gray and white + a few side colors. On my wall you can see pops of black + brownish + green.

2. Mix your Art

Try to choose different kinds of art and different sizes to create interesting look and then mix them all up – I have used – graphic art, watercolor, typography with my own framed photography, a DIY art…and a hat.

3. Frame your art

Somebody once told me that the frames should be chosen for the art not for a room – hence even if you think that a gold, antique frame would go great with your room decor, maybe it’s not the best choice for a modern, graphic poster. I think you got the point. Of course it is important to keep in mind, the look of the room, when choosing frames but make sure they enhance the art you are going to place inside or go for neutral, light frames like I did.

4. Now comes the hard part

How do I hang my art? I’m not sure if I’m an expert but I have hung art a few times in my life so I can share with you my experience. Once your art is framed, arrange it on a floor to see how much space it takes when grouped together, as ONE gallery wall. Then play with the arrangement until you like the composition. I have arranged it, in front of the sofa, so I could immediately see the width of the composition in regards to the sofa size.

5. Add unexpected element

Who said gallery wall has to consist only of frames? Add mirros / clocks / dream catchers / clothing items (a hat like me or necklace), dried flowers / vintage camera / geometric mobile – get creative and see what will look best on your wall.

6. Wall check

You probably know this already but it is the best way to check how your composition works, without immediately attacking your wall with a hammer is to trace and cut each frame to size. I have used carton boxes but you can also use colorful paper. Then, hang the cut pieces on the wall using washi tape and see if you like the final result. I didn’t.

I loved my arrangement when it was on the floor, however once I hung it the carton cut outs on the wall I realized some ‘frames’ are too high. The good thing is, if this happens, you are still on time to make adjustments without having wall full of holes.

7. Heights

I guess there are no rules on how high the frames should be hung, it is important that when you stand in front of your gallery wall, you don’t have to look up or down, it is right at your eyes’ level. Also remember to leave minimum 5 cm distance between your frames.

Fall In Love With This Intimate Southern California Wedding

A Southern California wedding inspired by the Mediterannean coast?! We’re there! You’ll be hard-pressed not to love every detail of this charming outdoor wedding day for two teachers. The couple tied the knot in the most beautiful of ways, with a celebration beautifully orchestrated by Crowned Events, that told their unique love story. Can we talk about the escort card display thoughtfully crafted like vintage school name cards?! You’ll be head over heels for every image perfectly captured by Dear Lovers Photography. Come along for all the romance with us in the full gallery.

From Crowded EventsFor Amanda and Trenton, we created a timeless and romantic style with complimentary Mediterranean accents that worked cohesively with the architecture and decor at the Darlington House. We centered their color palette around the brick and shades of blue throughout the traditional Spanish tiling displayed around the property.

For their ceremony, we took advantage of the beautiful pre-existing arches on the Egyptian Patio and had Leela, of Organic Flora, create a grand, installation comprised of olive branches and blooms. One of our favorite parts of Amanda and Trenton’s design was their escort display, created by Sophia Loves Letters. When we spoke to Amanda and Trenton about their shared passion for teaching, the idea came to create vintage name cards for their seating chart!

Their color palette really came alive in the reception space, where their tables were topped with pale yellow runners, vintage inspired tableware, sky blue napkins and pops of gold, set to a backdrop of lemon trees and terracotta tiles. Each table was adorned with lush, organic feeling arrangements and candles that gave off a soft, romantic ambiance.

This Enchanting Garden Venue Is Straight out of a Jane Austen Novel

Do we have any Jane Austen fans in the house? If your answer was a big *ummm, duh*, then boy do we have a treat for you! This styled shoot is basically Elizabeth and Mr. Darcy’s wedding if they tied the knot in 2020. Crowned Events planned this romantic shoot to perfection, choosing the dreamiest location of Kestrel Park as their setting. Prepare to fall in love with every arrangement from Bloom Babes and for your jaw to drop to the floor when you see the bride’s regal Galia Lahav gown (it.is.everything.) See all the magic unfold at the full gallery, captured by the ever so talented Dear Lovers!

From Dear LoversBeing from New Zealand, i’ve always had a special affection for anything that reminds me of my English heritage, and wanted to create something different. Something that was old world, English inspired and romantic with some warm colour and depth.

We chose the breathtaking Kestrel Park in Santa Ynez for this editorial, one of the most magical spots in Southern California straight out of a Jane Austen novel with it’s 19th century style English country house and 100 acre grounds.

We took advantage of Kestrel’s beautiful light, historic details and the fields that had turned golden in the summer heat to set the scene. With warm honey, cream and terra-cotta florals by the lovely ladies of Bloom Babes to compliment the delicate nature of the venue, a dream was brought to life.

Galia Lahav’s “Nevis” gown with the dramatic “Nova” skirt was the perfect feature piece to adorn our bride as she strolled through the gardens. Our groom wore a cream linen suit complimented by a brown wool vest inspired by Great Gatsby’s iconic suit.

Delicate paper goods by Epoch Design, paired alongside tea stained vintage poems, antique accessories and warm florals added character and history to our couple’s getting ready details. A headdress by Maria Elena, all in gold to reflect the bleached golden fields and the vintage feel of the bride’s gown was the perfect finishing touch to her look.
