20 Reasons Why Being a Mom Rocks

[dotted]

1. Cuddles, snuggles and kisses all day long.
2. Seeing life through Liam’s eyes.
3. The unconditional love that’s so natural towards him. An instant love.
4. Being there when they first reach each milestones. My favorite was when Liam started walking, I was so giddy and proud.
5. How everything is soooo exciting for them. Like seeing a digger on the side of the road 10+ times a day.

6. Watching my husband become a father and creating their bond. Made me fall more in love with him too.
7. The times when they just want you. Melts my heart.
8. When I go away for a little while, and how excited he is to see me when I get home!
9. Sharing your own childhood traditions.
10. Re-living the complete joy of each Holiday. This past Christmas and Easter were so fun!

11. Hearing Mommy & Daddy for the first time, and a 1000 times after that.
12. Giving the definition of Joy a whole new meaning.
13. Dressing Liam has definitely been so much fun! I love matching him with my husband, not only do they look cute but Liam’s so proud.
14. Putting him to bed. Not because the day is done, but it’s so sweet how Liam loves his story time and being tucked in.
15. Watching them sleep.

16. Me time, really becomes “me time”. It really is different now that I’m a mom.
17. Being excited about the next steps and the future ahead for our family.
18. Watching Liam discover, has been one of my favourite things. New animals are daily highlight.
19. Mommy + Liam dates. When we went for our first hot chocolate/ coffee date, I was a mess. I had to hold back the tears. He was two, but it was seriously the sweetest. And on that note, he didn’t like the hot chocolate.
20. Simply being able to be called “Mommy” has been surreal. I am beyond thankful for that gift.

From Monika…  Since I’ve become a mom I have a whole new appreciation for literally everything around me. I naturally reevaluated  life and what is important. Becoming a mom has defiantly grounded me and surprisingly made me very calm.

A Romantic Al Fresco Wedding Overflowing With Southern Charm at Wavering Place

Not even a 100° South Carolina heat wave could stop these wedding guests from dancing the night away and celebrating their gorgeous newlyweds! From the classic white and green color scheme to the lush peony-filled arrangements by Wimberly Fair, to the al fresco reception under a canopy of string lights – the team at Meagan Warren Weddings turned their classic, elegant wedding dreams into a reality! Don’t miss out on the full gallery captured by Sarah Ingram for all the southern charm.

From Sarah Ingram… When Laura and Michael got engaged, it was a quick and easy decision to return to the town they met for their wedding. They couldn’t wait to share their affection for the city and university (University of South Carolina) the relationship began in with loved ones.

Fortunately just outside of Columbia sits a stunning historic venue : Wavering Place. The property hosts beautiful gardens, an interesting and authentic history, and warm and welcoming family ownership. The white Greek revival house made for a visual statement and an incredible backdrop. The couple wanted something magical, classic, elegant and nature-inspired which could all be found at Wavering. Style was centered around simple & classic overtones with a few unexpected details including custom ribbon trimmed umbrellas standing high over the ceremony chairs for a hot summer ceremony.

An eye catching tulip adorned cake and Laura’s plunging chantilly lace gown also stood out, balancing a fine line between delicate and bold. An ivory, white, and green color story flowed throughout the event with an introduction of beige and champagne for the reception. Textured linens, soft grey ceramic place settings and intricate vintage crystal kicked up the interest when it came to dinner decor.

A week before the wedding, the temperature jumped to nearly 100 degrees! Laura and Michael knew it was possible it could be “famously hot” (Columbia’s slogan), but did not expect it to be 100 Fahrenheit. So they worked with planner Meagan Warren to alleviate hot weather woes and added items like ice cold fruit infused water, hand fans and cool lavender towels for guests upon arrival. Despite the heatwave, everyone stayed in good spirits and immersed themselves in the festivities from cocktail hour in the garden to the open air family style dinner (a nod to both families Italian heritage) and dance party on the iconic back lawn!

French Inspired Details Meet the Tropics at This Stunning Historic Walton House Wedding

Today’s Florida affair perfectly reflected the styles of the bride and groom – a mix of classic and romantic with modern and minimalistic, complete with a delicate dusty rose color palette. They chose the stunning Historic Walton House as their venue because it reminded the bride of a typical home you’d see back on her island of Guadeloupe. The team at Maison Francis truly blew us away with their lush, tropical floral arrangements that brought everything together so beautifully. Head on over to the full gallery to see all the pretty – taken by Masson Liang Photography with design by Soco Alicea!

From Masson Liang PhotographyMelissa and Lindsey met back in September 2016 at a mixed martial arts gym in Miami Shores, FL. Lindsey was already a member of the school before Melissa joined and didn’t actually speak to each other until a month later. They bonded after a tough four hour training session after Lindsey forgot his snacks, giving them the perfect opportunity to share a bite together! Their official first date followed shortly after that day :)

Lindsey proposed to Melissa on May 11, 2019 after Lindsey asked Melissa’s father for her hand one day when her parents were in town. It was especially emotional for Lindsey and memorable because she had to translate everything to her parents! Melissa is from Guadeloupe (a French caribbean island) and Melissa’s parents are not fluent in English. May 11 is also the 2. 5 year anniversary of theirs (Melissa and Lindsey always liked to do something every six months) and Lindsey suggested that they go for dessert in the evening to “celebrate” the day. Melissa didn’t feel too well and they ended up changing the location to Melissa’s favorite beach, Hollywood Beach. Lindsey offered Melissa a rose and they went for a walk on the beach. During the date Lindsey picked up the rose and popped the question! The decision to have their wedding at the Historic Walton House was a no brainer for Melissa and Lindsey. They always knew that they wanted an outdoor/tropical wedding with Melissa being from the Caribbean and Lindsey being a lover of the outdoors. Upon visiting the venue, it was love at first sight for them! Melissa is an island girl and it was imperative for them to find a venue that had a taste of home. As for the decor of the wedding, the most important elements for the bride and groom was to showcase simplicity, elegance, and romanticism. They wanted to make sure to capture this in everything involved with the day: from the stationery, venue, the clothing, the flowers, food and music.

From Maison Francis… Melissa & Lindsey knew they wanted a day that reflected both their styles, blending in Melissa’s more classic romantic style with Lindsey’s slightly more modern and minimalistic style. It was also very important to the both of them that the end result not overpower the beauty of the venue itself. They chose the venue for its unique elements, it’s cozy feeling, and the fact that it reminded Melissa of a typical home back on her island of Guadeloupe. The color palette for their day was dusty rose. Melissa selected this color because she loved the color pink, but also because it really pared well with her bridesmaids’ skin tones. She also felt that the color has a romantic and timeless feel to it, which was right in line with her vision. As for the groom, Lindsey went with the navy blue because it was a bold color with his skin tone and helped bring gravitas to the softness and elegance of the dusty rose.

More about the ceremony decor and reception decor from the florist/designer… Ceremony: At first, we were sure the ceremony would be taking place in a sort of hidden courtyard, with a preexisting arch, which already features climbing vines, and is surrounded by plenty of tropical greenery. With that, we assumed we would keep ceremony pretty minimal so as to not compete with their surroundings, and keep most floral decor for the cocktail and reception areas. But as the guest list grew, it became apparent that their numbers could not fit in that little ceremony nook, and they were moved to what was essentially the driveway of the venue. With an oddly shaped space (with a huge roundabout smack in the middle of their ceremony seating space and tons of gravel), we were faced with the challenge of making this space feel intimate, inviting, and gorgeous, again while keeping in mind the natural vegetation found throughout. When Cristi (their planner) told us they would use the space and essentially get married standing in front of a majestic tree, we decided to go low with the flowers, creating a pathway for the eye that wouldn’t take away the surrounding greenery, but look natural and guide everyone’s look towards the bride and groom standing in front of that tree. Because of the shape of the space, we had to oddly distribute the chairs for the guests which meant the aisle would be both curved and long. In order to maximize the use of these flowers (let’s face it ceremony only being 30 minutes we wanted them to enjoy their flowers for much longer), we designed the ceremony to perfectly complement the reception (which we will address in the next section). With the color palette in mind, the surrounding tropical greenery, and the actual location, we designed a pathway mimicking a floral garden, which led to a semi circle altar, directly pointing to the tree which the couple loved and wanted to accentuate, as well as place the couple in the center of it all, which had a very symbolic meaning. We knew we wanted to showcase different design elements throughout the entire wedding, that would translate the vision of a modern yet classically romantic wedding, which had both feminine and more masculine elements to it. This is how we came up with the use of acrylic and wood within an overall more feminine pink and highly floral theme. Guests were greeted upon their arrival with a bilingual welcome sign handwritten on Acrylic with a wooden easel. This combination of wood and acrylic was found throughout the wedding with all the signage featuring acrylics on wood stands. Wood was also a very important element to Melissa and Lindsey, who love its look and feel, but did not necessarily want to overwhelm the entire wedding with it. The acrylic served to modernize the feel of the day. Their wedding featured double the amount of acrylic signs, as they were translated into both english and french, to accommodate the guests helming from both cultures that were attending this union.

Reception: Reception design started immediately with cocktail hour. This is where we decided to have a little fun and forgo flowers all together! The Historic Walton House is a very interesting space, not only in how it is designed and how lush the surrounding gardens are but they also feature animals, which serve as entertainment for the guests (think baboons, flamingos and all sorts of other exotic animals!). On top of the animals serving as a sort of distraction for guests, there was also an interactive guest book created by the bride, where guests were invited to take polaroids, sign them, and hang them on a manzanita tree that the bride prepped for them, so she could take home and keep those memories alive as part of their new home decor! We were also tasked with introducing navy blue into the mix of decor elements to represent the grooms desire for a slightly more masculine feel within a much more romantic overall design. All of this resulted in a cocktail hour devout of flowers but with the most amazing Shelby Navy blue and white linen from the Ceci New York x Nuage Design collection. It was the most perfect complement. Mixed with a wooden bar covered in fresh smilax for a natural look that fit in with the environment, we added wooden and crystal etched votives to soften the look, but left the tables bare for the bold print to truly shine! Onto reception, guests were greeted with a seating chart display featuring a bold modern design of varied sized acrylic cubes with handwritten names serving as the escort card display. Again, as a way of mixing both Melissa and Lindsey’s styles, we included the use of flowers, and a striking veluto linen by Nuage Design in an eggplant color, which served as an accent color for the flowers. We decided to use it on this table to truly make a statement so the table could stand on its own rather than blend in with the reception linen. We introduced flowers within the acrylic to serve both as a backdrop to make it easier for the guests to read on acrylic, as well as to introduce softer elements that tied in with the entire wedding design. We also kept the design minimal and more modern by using traditional japanese pin frogs as opposed to bowls or vases as the vessels for the flowers. This allowed us to have a more linear design, mixed in with romantic blooms, again blending the two styles as they represented the bride and groom, with wooden votives throughout as that was an important design element for the couple. Guests then walked into a bungalow that served as the dancing area for first dance, the father of the bride’s speech and the father of the groom blessing, which all took place under a grand wooden chandelier dripping in fresh smilax greenery to sort of bring the outdoors in and keep the flow of the design. In the back of the room, directly facing the main entrance for all to see, was the beautiful cake, which was made to mimic a plaster wall of sorts, recreating the details of the wedding invitation, adorned with delicate flowers, namely sweet pea, a favorite of the bride and groom for its striking line yet whimsical feel. We used the same eggplant veluto linen as the place card table for the cake table, to tie everything together and also serve as a statement piece, on a low cocktail table so the cake could be put on full display, surrounded by repurposed aisle flowers to recreate the garden feel of ceremony indoors and shine a spotlight onto the cake! Because the room wasn’t very large and would only serve for dancing and cake/desserts, we loved that we were able to create a true focal point on the cake and the first dances through the use of florals and hanging greenery, creating a wow factor for guests as they walked in. On the dessert table, we used acrylic risers as well as dessert display cards in acrylic, to keep the theme going, and serve as a seamless way to present the dessert. Finally, when it came to the reception, that was the most fun yet the most challenging to design. The bride and groom wanted to fuse both their styles, as mentioned above, and we were tasked with coming up with centerpiece designs that had both a modern yet classic, lush yet minimal, masculine yet feminine design to it. And that’s how we came up with the use of shallow dishes, or very low bowls, with striking and modern japenese pin frogs in black, to attempt our version at romantic ikebana centerpieces. It was important all elements be equally beautiful, including our mechanics since they would be exposed, and it became our mission to find black pin frogs to keep the entire design seamless and beautiful. We then decided on varied sized bowls which would go down the length of the table, with some having more lush designs than others. Some larger pieces had plenty of flowers, while other featured only one stem. It would allow the eye to travel down the entire table following the flow of flowers, but yet not be so overwhelming that it became too romantic and Lindsey wouldn’t be adequately represented. We also made sure, in the choice of the flowers themselves, to go both romantic and more modern, through the use of textures and colors as well as line flowers. We also took into account that it was important for Melissa to keep the tropical aspect alive, as it was an intricate part of the venue itself, but also represented her Guadeloupean roots. That is how we came to choose two-toned light pink anthuriums, as they were tropical, colorful without being overwhelming, and also have a very straight stem which gave it a slightly more modern feel amongst the use of fluffy carnations, garden roses, mums, dahlias and spray roses. We also added the use of mini orchids for the same reason. We allowed them to shine by adding them to the single stem centerpiece portion of the entire design, and since they are tropical, have very interesting colors and shades, as well as a curved stem, which makes for a great shape.

The centerpieces were separated by the use of etched glass votive holders and smaller wooden votive holders, for tons of ambient light in a way that mixed the modern and the classic. We then added an explosion of flowers to the entire space, by repurposing the aisle and altar flowers at the ends of each royal table as well as the front of the Bride & Groom table, to mimic a growing garden and make the most use of the wedding flowers. With blush veluto linen by Nuage Design serving as a backdrop, the flowers popped and created an oasis, and with the slightly more minimal table top design, every piece shone on its own, which was important to the couple. They did not want it to just have a ton of flowers because flowers are inherently beautiful, but for each piece to be unique on it’s own yet be a part of a greater overall design. Together with Soco Alicea of Dragonfly Rentals, the couple chose the André Ceramic Charger, a more modern natural stone plate, her April gold flatware, and her gorgeous Alexa glassware (named after her daughter might I add), onto which we placed each guest’s hand calligraphed name on a small piece of acrylic, set next to the Shelby Navy floral Ceci New York x Nuage Design napkin, in the same print as the cocktail hour linen, which allowed us to bring in the groom’s desire for navy as well as tie in the entire event together. The napkin was tucked into wooden napkin rings, lovingly done by the bride and groom, which once again brought in the wood element, representing so much of the couple’s background and personalities into one final design. Placed next to the chargers to the top was the couple’s wedding favor, a wooden fridge magnet, which the couple placed themselves onto green moss, and tied with hand dyed ribbon in a gorgeous tone of dusty rose, which mimicked the Bridesmaids dress color. Every element was carefully selected to truly create the most cohesive end result.

Some other unique elements of the wedding include:

They had a bilingual ceremony in French and in English. This was very important to the bride since over a third of their guests were French speakers. And French being her mother’s primary language, it was very important for her to enter marriage with my native language as well. Lindsey had a “best woman” and two out of four members of his groom’s party were women. On the bride’s side, she had her younger brother as a groomsmaid. They offered two signature cocktails to represent our place of origin: a passionfruit mojito for Miami and the traditional “ti-punch” from Guadeloupe. The groom actually sang a part of his vows to Melissa during the ceremony and it instantly brought everyone to tears! All in all, they wanted the wedding not only to be the celebration of their union, but also the celebration of their cultures.

This Couple Got Married at Sting’s Villa in Tuscany and It Was Nothing Short of Spectacular

Yup, that’s right. This couple got married at Sting’s villa in Tuscany and if that isn’t the coolest place you’ve ever heard to tie the knot then we don’t know what is! The weekend festivities started off in the only way a Tuscan destination wedding should – with an al fresco pizza party of course! Their wedding day, planned by Weddings in Tuscany, was all sorts of magical. From the reception under sparkling olive trees to the romantic arrangements from Jardin Divers. Just wait until you see the full gallery captured by Elias Kordelakos, we’re still melting from that picture of the groom’s reaction to seeing his beautiful bride for the first time.

From Elias Kordelakos, the photographer… This is what a dream wedding in Tuscany looks like! The wedding venue is Sting’s Villa (yes, the singer Sting). The couple is from the US, madly in love and surprised their guests with a fireworks show. Plus they had a wonderful al fresco dinner reception amongst the olive trees. Talking about a dreamy wedding in Tuscany! You should definitely also have a look at the rehearsal dinner where the guests enjoyed traditionally baked pizza. Ally & Brian made the most out of their destination wedding in Italy with an engagement session in some of Tuscany’s most picturesque villages! Chiara Sernesi from ‘Weddings in Tuscany‘ realized the dream and made sure the wedding days run perfectly!

From Chiara Sernesi, the wedding planner… The peaceful Tuscan landscape is primarily rolling hills, with vineyards, olive groves, cypress trees and hilltop villages all bathed in a soft, amber light. To many it seems familiar, and rightly so: during the Renaissance it was often used as the backdrop for the paintings of the masters. It was here Ally & Brian  decided to crown their love and to say “I do” in Sept 2019.  A whole year of intense emailing went by before their wedding day .  A year of emailing may sound like a lot, but this becomes the average.  Through email, we create relationships with our couples, one that is more than purely business. Our clients often end up sharing much more, typically resulting in a personal relationship. During their sites inspection in Tuscany they feel in love with Tenuta il Palagio where their wedding was held and where their 50 guests, from the US and UK, stayed for 3 nights

Ally and Brian  had decided to have their civil wedding  back at home in the US , but the main celebration was to be held at the Villa  where we organized a symbolic ceremony to be performed in the beautiful panoramic terrace of the main villa, We set up the celebration area, with the guests’ chairs facing the breathtaking view of the valley.

The ceremony was sweet and simple, some guests shed a tear of two, some others were really moved, but everybody commented on how appropriate and beautiful it had been their wedding dinner was held  on the  garden by the pool under  olive  trees and a lots of fairy lights  created a very romantic atmosphere , the beautiful flower centerpieces and olive oil bottles as party favors were enticing the guests who were now ready to appreciate the typical Tuscan menu.

After the dinner, everybody moved to the courtyard area  where music  and drinks accompanied the end of the evening. And all this in the amazing environment of the Tuscan hills, immersed in the smells, the peace, the sound of the night crickets; outside the window, the fields of ripe, golden wheat gleaming under the sun setting behind the hills, and all around, farmed land marked off by lines of tall cypress trees, and more vineyards and olive groves. Everything was captured by the talented photographer Elias Kordelakos

An Intimate, Last Minute Ceremony After Their Wedding Was Cancelled Due to COVID-19

As we all continue to do our best day after day amid this terrible pandemic we’re facing, hearing a piece of good news or a happy story truly makes the world of a difference and inspires us to keep the faith. That’s why today, we’re beyond excited to be sharing with you a very special wedding story. After Emily and Taylor’s big day was sadly cancelled due to COVID-19, they decided to have a last minute ceremony with just a few of their nearest and dearest, with a larger reception to celebrate their union in the future. Their story brought tears to our eyes, joy to our hearts and reminded us once again that love isn’t cancelled. Check out the full gallery by I Dream of Weddings, to see all the magic unfold!

From I Dream of Weddings… The lucky series of events that brought Emily & Taylor together for the first time was not a chance encounter measured my mere minutes. It was not a missed green light to the grocery store or a beautiful girl in a sea of unfamiliar faces. The first chapter of Emily & Taylor’s story unfolds over an entire year at a Staples in Tallahassee. It took Taylor, who was in Easy-Tech at the time, a new job opportunity to get the courage to drop his corporate relationship with Emily, who worked in the Copy Center. Once Taylor started his new job, the two tossed the co-worker formalities and spent an entire night catching up on a year’s worth of lost conversation.

When the sun started to rise, Emily left Taylor, who was fast asleep, to wake up questioning whether his dream girl from the Copy Center was from his actual dreams. Knowing that she would no longer see him between the aisles at Staples, Emily left her glass slipper (a cardigan) as she rushed out the door. Emily’s Cinderella exit not only gave Taylor an excuse to see Emily and return her cardigan along with their first kiss, but it brought me to a little Ocala wedding. Right in the middle of a pandemic.

I was thrilled to hear from Emily to see if I would be interested in photographing a small ceremony in replace of her cancelled wedding. It was a pleasant surprise to see an excited, bride-to-be come up with an alternative to an otherwise, devastating situation. The ceremony was to be held at the Lamson Estate in Ocala. A beautiful home surrounded by wind and Spanish moss owned by Linda, a second grandmother to Emily and where Emily & Taylor resided after leaving Tallahassee. In Florida, the restriction on gatherings limits crowds no larger than ten. The officiant, three bridal party members, three guests and myself, gathered on the front steps of Emily & Taylors first home together to witness their first kiss as husband and wife. A reception is to be held in the near future where guests can celebrate a love story even a pandemic couldn’t stop. But for the time being, a marriage certificate and a few last-minute wedding portraits became the fairytale wedding any girl could hope for. To Emily and Taylor, the two employees who were able to dodge direct eye contact with each other for an entire year, thank you for reminding us what is most important in unfortunate times. Each other. In the coming weeks, when our daily lives and routines start to balance out, a new community will be walking among us, and we will all celebrate, passionately. Until then. Stay positive, be creative, reflect, inspire and most importantly, don’t forget to love.

How to Plan an Effortless Backyard Dinner Party

Going alfresco is a no brainer when the summer months hit. Because everything, even dinner, is better outside in the open air. A Savvy Event and Chloe Legras At Boxwood Avenue are breaking down the easiest way to move your next dinner party outside. The key is fuss-free entertaining ideas like easy party punch and special touches that make casual dining seem crazy elegant. See even more photographed by Kevin Chin in the VAULT.

Longer days and warmer nights mean outdoor activities can officially commence, and with that, comes alfresco dining. Outdoor dining can range from casual to formal, but our absolute favorite is an evening spent with great friends while sipping delicious cocktails and enjoying thoughtfully prepared food.

Outdoor dining doesn’t need to be fancy, but extra special touches are always appreciated! You don’t need to break out the china, or even the silver for that matter, but you might try adding some creative touches here and there. Use natural elements to tie the table together, such as fresh herbs, foraged greens, and organic flower arrangements.

Chloe, of Boxwood Avenue, adorned kumquat branches with guest name’s calligraphed in copper ink, which accented the copper Mule mugs and brass flatware. If you’re having a casual dinner, try picking out some bamboo flatware and adding washi-tape for a fun DIY; a great way to bring attention to something that is normally an afterthought.

When styling a table, think convenience first. It might be tempting to bust out your favorite champagne coupes, but if you plan on mingling, that might not be your best bet. Instead, think of how you want the party to flow, and nix anything unnecessary, because let’s face it, who even uses a soup spoon anyways?

Plan a light menu with fresh ingredients! A typical BBQ of hot dogs and hamburgers can be heavy and leave everyone feeling a little guilty about the amount of potato salad they consumed. Avoid this pitfall by shopping at your local farmer’s market and creating a farm-to-table style menu. Fresh ingredients will be appreciated, and in-season fruits and veggies will be a bargain! We love serving multiple salads family style; try a leafy green number, and mix things up by adding some grilled veggies!

Lastly, pick a theme and stick to it! It’s easy to go on Pinterest and plan a beautiful dinner party, but it’s another thing to execute it. Just like a large-scale event, your party should have a theme – think minimal. Maybe you want to showcase different types of goat cheese, or you want to include fresh herbs from your own garden; whatever it is, pick one element that you want to shine, and let the rest be its cheerleader. Here, Kelly, of A Savvy Event, included a patterned table linen from La Tavola in the design, so she let the rest of the elements compliment it by pulling oranges, coppers, and creams with pops of pinks in the florals, which achieved a cohesive look and feel.

How to Politely Let Your Guests Know That Your Wedding Date Has Been Changed Due to COVID-19

Beyond waking up to that beautiful piece of sparkling jewelry on your left hand and getting all the feels when you see the 💍 followed by X.Y.Z in your Instagram bio, there’s truly no better reality check that you’re really getting married than when you see your Save the Dates for the first time or start putting those 🍰 stamps on your wedding invitations. It’s a major moment for planning couples, and, unfortunately, one that’s been eclipsed by the devastating impacts of COVID-19. But 2020 brides and grooms are showing tremendous resilience, coolness, and courage during this time, and we couldn’t be any prouder of our industry for showing up in support of these brave soonlyweds. After all, this happily ever after is a team effort, and vendors want to see dream wedding days happen just as much!

That being said, with so much uncertainty surrounding the virus and it’s trajectory, even couples with late summer and fall weddings are making decisions to postpone their days. No bride wants to cave to the suffocating ‘better safe than sorry’ adage, but a new date is kind of a new lease on life for couples whose dates became/are becoming casualties of coronavirus – so, we’re all here for it! All that needs to happen next is letting guests know that there’s been an official date change, and luckily, considering the extenuating circumstances, there are lots of ways to do it. From phone calls to email correspondence, text messages to real-time wedding website updates, you can let your guests know you’ll be celebrating at a later time without skipping a beat.

Of course, if you want to stick with stationery, which is always our preference – know that invitation couturiers are coming up with cooperative and infinitely-creative ways to help: brainstorming custom digital invites, offering discounted reprints, reinventing invitation suites with seasonal shifts, or wiping the slate clean altogether and minting new ‘changed the date’ cards. Again, we’re completely sympathetic to the blind-sighted blow of having to postpone a day that you’ve been planning for so long, but on the bright side, what a story to tell your future children! “We had to make the difficult decision to press pause on our wedding, but we ended up having an even better day than the one we had imagined!”  The best!

Remember when you used to say ‘see you later’ instead of goodbye? Well, that’s exactly what you’re doing here! This isn’t saying goodbye to your guests, this is just saying see you later – same couple, same place (or somewhere new), new date! And we’re thrilled to help any couples who’ve decided to change their dates with dream looks from our very own Style Me Pretty stationery collection. Shop now!

Communication is everything

While it’s likely that most of your wedding guests can definitely expect alternate plans if your OG date was sometime this spring, the more distant future is much murkier since the protocols and cadence with coronavirus change every day. That’s why regular communication with everyone is so important. You certainly don’t have to have a livestream of your ‘will we / won’t we cancel/postpone’ thought process, but checking in with everyone on your invite list, in some capacity (i.e. weekly or biweekly), is appreciated. Even more so when you have guests who will be traveling and need to make adjustments to their airfare, accommodations, etc.

Granted, working with a wedding planner makes it so much easier to navigate the specifics of a wedding being put on hold, but if you’re handling all of the arrangements on your own, you can absolutely get through it by trusting in your vendors and your extended support team (family members, friends, etc.). The ultimate in #squadgoals! As we mentioned before, since there’s a much larger, act of God-kind of crisis at play with these cancellations, the rules of correspondence etiquette aren’t as strict. You can send emails, you can make phone calls or exchange texts, you can send out change the date cards, you can update your wedding website, or you can proceed with a combination of several modes of status quo messaging.

Letting everyone know

However you choose to do it, just make sure you’re staying positive (as much as you possibly can!) – acknowledge the precarious state of things right now, assure your guests that their safety, health, and enjoyment of your wedding is a chief area of concern, and reiterate that you just look so forward to celebrating with them soon – whether that be two or three months from now or next year.

The important thing to remember when you’re making changes to your wedding date (be it due to COVID-19 or something else) is that your guests just want to be kept informed and in-the-know! Of course, no one expects immediate updates, especially when the nature of this virus is so nuanced and unpredictable. If anything, guests just want to make sure that you, as the couple getting married, are healthy and doing well in spite of these trying times. They want to celebrate this beautiful milestone with you just as much as you want to with them, but they understand that doing so might need to happen at a later, safer junction. So, if you’ve had to become nimble with your nuptials, and now have a new date to look forward to, know that we’re right there with you! Changing the date definitely doesn’t mean you’ve had a change of heart! This is just ‘see you later,’ not goodbye! Shop the Style Me Pretty Collection exclusively on site now.

Luxury Winter Wedding Complete With Steal-Worthy Gray-Blue Bridesmaid Dresses

Today’s gorgeous winter wedding was magic all around. From the bride’s romantic long sleeve gown to the jaw-dropping reception adorned in lush greenery to a horse drawn carriage sendoff!! I mean, does it get any cuter than that? We don’t think so. Soiree Weddings and Events brought the bride and groom’s luxury winter wedding vision to life, leaving no detail unturned. Jingle all the way to full gallery to see how it all came together – captured by Branson Maxwell!

From Brandi Reiland, Owner + Creative Director, Soiree Weddings & EventsWhites and greens was the couples style, and once Emma found her bridesmaids dresses- a beautiful gray-blue floor length gown from Bhldn- we used this as the accent color throughout. The wedding luncheon and reception were both held at the family’s private home, and we wanted to give both events a unique personality while still keeping the color palettes and overall style similar.

To do this, we decided to use different areas of the residence for each event, beginning with a tent for the luncheon. Emma wanted the tent vibe to be warm and cozy with lots of candle glow, so we used gorgeous velvet linens, varying candles nestled in and around lush white flowers, and selected several tones of bronze, gold, and darker metals to warm things up even more on the tables. The shining stars of the tables were the custom dyed velvet runners- in the most perfect shade of that dusty blue we all fell in love with. To further cozy up things, we worked with our florist to adorn the tent ceilings with dripping greens and Boise At Its Best built the most amazing trees to fill existing planter areas on the patio- such a perfect way to utilize spaces we wouldn’t normally be able to while adding to the beauty!

After the luncheon, prep was underway for the reception later that evening. We repurposed the tent into a beautiful lounge area filled with food stations- all of Emma and Easton’s favorite foods in small bite portions to encourage lots of mingling and movement. The inside of the building held more guest tables, food stations and the dance floor, underneath the most gorgeous greens and star lights for dancing the night away. A grand send-off was the final surprise of the evening- guests were handed toss cones filled with white petals to shower the bride and groom as they made their way to the horse-drawn carriage…. The sounds of the jingle bells on the horses were beautiful, and perhaps the one Christmas-y item that made it into the wedding. All in all, it was the most magical winter evening.

From the Bride… A precious memory from our wedding was actually in between our luncheon and our reception! We had a little bit of time and so I decided to change into lounge clothes until a few minutes before the guests would arrive. I had just switched into comfy clothes when our photographers came running over to us and telling us we had to come outside because the sunset was gorgeous. I rapidly threw on my dress and we took some of my most favorite photos in the most beautiful sunset. Those photos are so precious to me because they remind me of the sweetest moments I get to spend with my husband and how we can make the most of every moment!

Chic Red and Black Wedding Inspiration for the Modern Bride-To-Be

In today’s gorgeous styled shoot, Shauntelle of Sposto Photography found inspiration for the overall design in Claire Pettibone’s stunning Raven gown. Modern details meet delicate romance at every turn, from hanging floral instillations by the always lovely Lavenders Flowers to a contemporary tablescape that’s unlike anything you’ve seen before. Get inspired with us at the full gallery!

From Sposto PhotographyDesigning workshops for students who want to learn how to shoot film and incorporate it into their workflow is such a fun part of the educational aspect of our business.

In this case, we wanted a super clean space to work with which provided ample natural light and a bank canvas to create within. The Modern in Long Beach was the perfect place for this. I came up with the concept based on the gorgeous Claire Pettibone Raven gown. This gorgeous garment “features a shimmering silver sequin lace that is tempered by an overlay of elaborate embroidered tulle.” as described by Claire.

5 Tips For Hosting Your First Summer Party as Newlyweds

You’re back from your honeymoon and you have a kitchen full of cake plates, cheese boards and new wine glasses. What better way to put those wedding registry items to use than to throw a classic backyard party this summer? With these helpful tips—and an easy recipe that’s sure to be a crowd-pleaser—you’ll be an expert hostess in no time.

1. Start small and casual
Just because you registered for 12 place settings with crystal to match doesn’t mean you need to start with an elaborate dinner party. A backyard BBQ is an easy, laid back way for you and your new spouse to ease into entertaining. Fire up the grill, hang some string lights and mix up a pitcher of your favorite sangria.

2. Showcase your wedding gifts
Chances are some of the people you’re inviting also got you a wedding gift. Serve wine in the wine glasses they gave you or put out a charcuterie platter on that new cheese board. It’s a great way to make them feel special and appreciated.

3. Create a drink station
One of the best ways to show off your new entertaining arsenal is to have a drink station. Fill a beverage tub full of beer and water, mix up a signature cocktail in your cocktail dispenser and serve drinks in colorful, outdoor glasses.

4. Craft a menu
Come up with a plan beforehand that includes some pre-made dishes that are easy to serve so that you aren’t stuck in the kitchen all evening. This refreshing salad has been my go-to dish for the last few summers. It’s easy to make, delicious and completely self-serve for your guests.

Minty Watermelon & Balsamic Salad
Makes 16 3/4 cup servings

Ingredients:
1 watermelon cut into bite size cubes
2 cucumbers halved lengthwise and sliced
1/4 cup fresh mint
2/3 cup feta cheese
1/4 cup balsamic vinegar

Directions:
In a large bowl, mix together watermelon, cucumber, mint and feta. Add balsamic vinegar and toss to coat. Store in refrigerator, covered for up to 2 hours. Enjoy!

4. Prepare for bugs
As much as I enjoy summer and being outdoors, bugs can easily force me back inside. Be aware of your bug situation and prepare ahead of time so your guests are comfortable and free of mosquito bites. Have cans of bug spray on hand, make sure the food is covered and protected at all times and light some bug-repellent candles around your yard.

5. Enjoy yourself
This is about spending time with your friends and family and enjoying your time as newlyweds. Your guests will follow your lead so be sure to set a comfortable, relaxed tone. By the end of the night, everyone will be asking when you’re hosting the next summer party!

Style Me Pretty Contributor – Kristen Lauck Gillock is the owner and lead planner at Marie Rose Events based in Oklahoma City. When she isn’t working, you’ll find her spending time outside or enjoying a glass of wine and cooking dinner at home with her husband.

Colorful Wedding Inspiration Complete With a Sunglass Seating Chart Every Guest Will Love!

If you’re a couple who isn’t afraid to have a little fun with color, then this wedding inspiration from Amorology is right up your inspo alley. The amount of creativity jam packed into one gallery by Natalie Bray Studios is truly otherworldly, complete with a unique color palette of peach, lilac, marigold, and dark orange pink. From Native Poppy’s cheerful floral arrangements to a ruffled lilac wedding dress that will leave you shook for days. See it all below!

From Natalie Bray StudiosAs part of the wonderful Modern Love Event, Amorology designed an elegant explosion of color to inspire anyone. It is so bright and full of warmth. If I were a guest at this wedding, I would hands down never want to leave.

The team truly pulled together to bring the “Shades” dream to reality. It is absolutely refreshing inspiration design for couples. The design starts with a Sunglasses seating chart and lounge with a bright modern lounge area by Adore Folklore hand written each guests name and place cards by MBOJ Stuio with touches of shades of color using make-up pallets. I mean just genius! So creative and inspiring.

Natalie of Native Poppy’s florals are like works of art and shape. Truly complimenting the design in a beautiful way. Peach, Lilac, Marigold, and a dark orangish pink ground the color pallet. Next is the seating area with sleek white plates and unique cutlery by Greystone Table, luxurious purple velvet chairs again by Adore Folklore, and yellow corduroy napkins by Hostess haven. I mean wow!!! With hanging lanterns and dried flowers cascading to round out the dining experience. Then, we are taken to on a journey of dessert epic ness by Milly’s Fine Cakes. Let me tell you, they taste amazing and look unique and beautiful. Truly a delight! The model is wearing a fantastic Elizabeth Dye gown in lilac with a cape. Talk about a statement. Just beautiful! I hope you enjoy and this brings you inspiration and joy.

From Amorology…  Inspired by all things Palm Springs, we approached our design for Modern Love with a touch of retro and an unexpected palette with fun pops of color! Our concept was a blend of “Made in the Shade” and “Fun in the Sun” as a nod to the playful nature found in the desert with a subtle Moroccan Twist!

White + gold cabanas offered shade above our dining table with dusty mauve drapes, velvet-textured chandeliers and fringe pendants hanging above a custom oval shaped table Folklore created for us! Thoughtfully gathered eye shadow was placed running down the ribbed dining table on painted boards to offer height and interest in tones that complimented the hanging install of flowers overhead by the talented Natalie from Native Poppy. Additionally, eyeshadow acrylic stir sticks were placed in each blush glass on the table to offer a fun accent to the specialty cocktails.

Hand calligraphed name cards penned by MBOJ rested in gold cardholders and sat upon corduroy mustard napkins and soft sage plates with simple copper flatware while lilac taper candles added an element of subtle romance down the center of the table complimenting the florals in shades of lavender, peach, blush, and earthy tones with touches of ochre!

To help our “guests” find their seats we created a “Fun in the Sun” escort display with vinyl names and seating assignments that were placed on retro sunglasses we gathered to double as favors as well as an unexpected accessory piece for our bride who wore them best with a playful poofy tulle gown in the prettiest shade of lilac from Elizabeth Dye!

For a relaxing moment, we created a lounge that would bring the heat and paired it with our escort display. A mustard sofa, rust side chair, and lilac poufs made for the perfect combination. Invitations tied the whole day together with their simple yet classic vibe in crisp letter-pressed white on white lettering with blush envelopes, keeping things playful yet romantic!

An abundance of decadent and retro cakes made by Milly’s Fine Cakes sat on brightly colored pillars that stood in front of mechanical “Made in the Shade” blinds that could flip and alternate colors created by the one and only Back Up Backdrops! The color blocked cakes were decorated with isomalt to allude to colored glass and our sunglass escort display. Smaller desserts such as salted caramel cupcakes, lavender Pana cotta, and sugar cookies were guests’ delight!

No event would be complete without specialty cocktails and we turned to some of the best with Whoa Nelly who created the most refreshing drinks for us to keep cool all day long. Watermelon + Jalepeño, Giner + Tumeric and Branble + Thyme made for the sweetest Shrub Bar that basked in the sun in front of a scalloped merlot and gold backdrop we created! To play to the Moroccan Twist, Whoa Nelly also served up a “Some Like it Hot” menu with Roasted Cauliflower with slow-cooked chickpeas and orange saffron couscous. It was a beautiful balance of sun and shade as we played the day away in Palm Springs with some of our favorite talents and soaked in all the oodles of inspo! We can’t wait to be back to Villa Royal again soon!

Little Girl’s Floral Bedroom

Editor’s Note: This room is just TOO sweet. We’re actually a little bit envious. It’s a little bit of grandmillenial love in training with the gorgeous wallpaper and beautiful drapes. Take a look!

Jan Strickland of Strickland Interiors designed this whimsical, floral little girl’s bedroom located in rural Northeast Louisiana.

Inspired by the floral wallpaper from Anthropologie the bed was painted a bright orange color to compliment. White floral and gold pendents from Horchow were selected to go above the white nightstands from Anthropologie. Fabulous Fabric in Monroe, Louisiana made the custom drapes and shower curtain hand selected by designer Jan Strickland.

Jan’s vision for the drapes came to life. She wanted them to compliment the wallpaper. She selected a white fabric and orange tape was the perfect choice.

This bedroom is what childhood should be about. It’s bright, happy, whimsical, and playful. The one black chalk wall makes the room hands on for play. This floral bedroom is sure to bring many happy childhood memories to this little girl.

A Classic Oscar De La Renta Wedding at the Four Seasons Athens

If you’re a couple who loves all things glam, then this chic Athens wedding is about to be your latest obsession. From the bride’s one-of-a-kind Oscar de la Renta gown to the dazzling reception made beautiful by studio 7‘s floral creations – there’s plenty of pin-worthy moments to go around. Head on over to full gallery to see it all, with planning by the12events and captures by Sotiris Tsakanikas!

From Sotiris TsakanikasZoe was 3 months pregnant when Chris popped the question. “We had a couple’s massage and stayed at the villa at Crown Casino, Melbourne. The room was covered in rose petals”, Zoe told me. As the two kept busy building their dreams, traveling the globe and starting their family they had to take a step back from their wedding celebrations. Once everything was in place they decided to explore the magic of Greece and had their closest and dearest fly to the sizzling city of Athens for their nuptials. Zoe and Chris did not simply involve saying I do with an Orthodox wedding but creating a perfect celebration of love for their daughter, their families, and friends.

Zoe’s choices for the big day were a classic Oscar de La Renta gown and Altuzarra heels, a fashion choice she wished to share with her baby girl who also wore a matching dress and shoes of the same designers. The big day preps began at Nafsika Resort of The Four Seasons Athens, which was also the couple’s reception venue, while the ceremony was held in a beautiful Athenian church. Chris’ choices involved Louis Vuitton, Hermes & Tom Ford, so if you’re a couple who loves everything chic you’re bound to Pin their style right away. The day rolled seamlessly planned by The 12 Events, who brought together the best vendors in Greece to make Zoe & Chris’ dream come true. One of my favorite moments was to see my bride and groom going on their first dance to George Michael’s “Moment with You” (their song) and then hugging their daughter and dancing together as one.

From The 12 EventsOnce the summering den for billionaire Greek shipping tycoons, along with what used to be called the ‘international set’, Astir Palace relaunched last summer after a massive makeover as Four Seasons Athens. No sweeter spot for our uber-elegant couple Zoe & Chris to tie the knot in Athens. Swathed in scenic azure vistas, looking gloriously chic under the milky light, and appearing almost afloat in the Aegean, Vouliagmeni’s new gem instantly drew our couple’s attention. The sea-view gardens, the ravishing pièce de résistance pool which twinkles soon as dusk falls, the crisp designer furnishings and terraces flooded with retro-vibe spaces were not only a perfect canvas for the reception and party but were the A-list grounds these two sought after to spend their honeymoon after the wedding festivities. Zoe and Chris gravitated around a sophisticated celebration in classic whites.

Delicate white and pastel florals, a dash of gold, light linens, and minimal decor, all comprising wedding details that will never go out of style. Chris’ Black-tie tux and Zoe’s wedding dress design were seamlessly stylish and the very definition of the classic wedding, but so was everything else. A black-tie dress code, streamlined and elegant cocktail to the sound of jazz, & dinner settings were kept simple with a clean, contemporary feel. Utilizing a neutral wedding color palette enhanced both the venue and the overall wedding design. We brought the indoors outside and transformed the private terrace to a sophisticated dinner party setting with long statement dinner tables, plush seating, and outdoor lantern lights to set the mood. To accompany the classic wedding style, the sit-down dinner was complete with an elegant menu to highlight the sophistication of their event. Visionary plates with vibrant colors followed by elevated entrées of local ingredients to what became a stunning take on Grecian flavors. A tastefully embellished white tiered cake complemented the classic statement, without overdoing things with fancy dessert decorations. The party held indoors at the private discotheque was also imbued with stately sofas, florals, and elegant bars, while the highlight of the night was the live performance by Greek superstar singer Glykeria and her band.

When They Couldn’t Have Their Dream Wedding in Italy, They Brought Italy to Them!

Today’s gorgeous bride and groom brought their Tuscan wedding vision stateside – and boy did they pull it off. From ceremony to reception, the details of the day came together so seamlessly to create a Tuscan garden dream in Newport, Rhode Island. Semia Floral Design arranged stunning bouquets filled with lush blooms, living chandeliers and even decorated their head table with Tuscan inspired fruit. Head on over to the full gallery, captured by Arielle Doneson Photography to see it all unfold.

From the bride… Our original dream was to get married in Italy at a tuscan villa with our close family & friends. We had to re-think that dream when we realized my grandparents health would not allow for that kind of trip. Instead, we decided to combine the essence of Tuscany with the seaside beauty of our favorite day trip destination, Newport, RI. My memories of Tuscany always evoked feelings of calm, pure happiness, natural beauty & of course, amazing food.

That is exactly the feeling we went off of to pick all of our details, from the colors to the venue. To play off of that serene feeling and to compliment the gorgeous views of our venue, we went with a more muted color palette of dusty blues, mauves & lots of greenery.

The venue itself was a no brainer, with its gorgeous views of the water and Newports’ iconic cliff walk, as well as a it’s stylish, yet blank canvas decor, it was perfect for us to give our guests a taste of Newport and also create our Tuscan vision. Our florist, Semia, did such an amazing job of making our venue feel like a Tuscan garden, even weaving greenery through the driftwood chandeliers to bring that Tuscan al-fresco feeling indoors.

If you looked closely, our head table even had some fruits scattered within it. We made sure to pay homage to not only our vision, but also our personal story together and individually. We had food that represented where each of us are from, music that spoke to our relationship & decor details that paid homage to Tuscany while blending seamlessly into the backdrop of the Newport seaside.

A Colorful Palm Springs Wedding That Will Instantly Brighten Your Day!

Three words to describe this wedding planned by Green Apple Event Co? Joyful, colorful and F.U.N!! From modern ceremony designs to bright colors, cute cactus decor and a literal life size “YAY” sign… there’s absolutely no shortage of wow-worthy moments in this gallery. The sweet love between Clay and Mike is so clear in every gorgeous image from Sposto Photography. Keep on scrolling for one serious dose of happiness!

From Sposto Photography… Clay and Mike’s wedding was an explosion of color and joy. Celebrating these two and their love was one of the joys of my career. Complete with a literal “YAY” sign echoing the happiness of the day, Clay and Mike’s Mid-Mod wedding celebration was bursting with 60’s neon decor and detail.

Surrounded by their amazing family and friends Clay (actor) and Mike (attorney at law) had an amazing mix of the smartest, most talented, and of course, well dressed guests.

The groom and groom wore unique suits to their individual taste but came together on the accessories like the tie, shoes, watch, pocket square, socks, and belt. All from their favorite designer Paul Smith.

Every detail was a reflection from their hearts. Using a local florist and local planted succulents, the table top decor was nothing short of desert chic. Each potted item was intended for their guests to enjoy as a keepsake. Everything was designed for the best guest experience including the drink station upon arrival to the vintage post cards they had available for their guests to fill out, and the incredible escort card display, this day was nothing short of the best day ever!

How to DIY a Ceremony for Two If Your Wedding Was Affected by COVID-19

Wow, we’re still wondering when we’ll wake up from this horrible nightmare that is 2020. As little as 30 days ago, couples were still saying ‘I Do’ without worrying about coronavirus contingencies – and now, weddings planned for the rest of the year remain a question mark. Whether you’re postponing to a future date [hopefully] untouched by COVID-19 or have decided to cancel the wedding you had planned in favor of a ceremony for just the two of you, remember your love hasn’t been cancelled. Not for a long shot!

At the end of the day, of course there’s so much to love about a big day full of people  – the more, the merrier, right? But the most special moments are the first look, the exchange of vows, the first kiss once you’re pronounced partners for life, and the first dance after you become husband and wife, husband and husband, or wife and wife: and those looks only require the two of you. That’s why we’re all for carrying on with the same date and throwing a big party to celebrate with your family and friends later on when it’s safe for everyone.

And as luck would have it, our Style Me Pretty Shop Collection doesn’t need an audience to shine. In fact, for couples who have decided to get married in their backyards or elope in the mountains, the scale of the event might be smaller, given the circumstances, but the occasion doesn’t have to be any less monumental. With small touches like taper candles and festive tea lights, tassel garlands and toasting flutes, you can keep things just between you, while also turning up the formality of the fete. Remember, you can always ‘save another date’ for the future, but if you can’t wait to make things official, then definitely still have your day. You’ll look back on the photos from this historical time – even if they’re iPhone snaps or Polaroids – and smile, because you made it through, and you did it your way.

Before you pull the plug on your OG plan, take a peek at some of the below SMP items. You might never have contemplated eloping before, but if the #coronabride tales on Instagram are tugging on your heart strings, well, then, you might want to let go of that never… Especially with these inspiring, just-for-you-two touches.

For the tears…

While you might not have a Maid of Honor and/or Best Man around to help with a hanky hand-off, you’ll still want to be prepared for the water works that will occur // no matter how small your wedding is! A something blue-hued handkerchief works perfectly, because even a micro-wedding can have its fair share of tradition. And actually, if you do want to invite a small group of guests to share in your day (virtually), we suggest sending some plush tissues to your tribe. FaceTiming the ceremony is a surefire way to get those tears rolling from the sidelines,

For the stroll down memory lane…

Granted, you might not have a typical escort table at your winnowed down wedding, but that doesn’t mean that you can’t still have a beautiful LOVE-fest welcome table – fancied up with throwback snaps of you and your new spouse (yes, let’s not forget, you might not have had your dream wedding, but you still got married to the man or woman of your dreams!), the soft glow of tea lights for ambiance, and a champagne bucket filled to the brim with celebratory bubbly.

For the photos…

Social distancing and large gathering bans definitely make the photo booth situation null and void, but if you’re exchanging vows – even without friends and family around, you have to commemorate the occasion. You can do it a few ways, too: with a quote banner, because truly, during corona times, being together is a beautiful place to be; with a love hoop above your sweetheart table (even if it’s just your kitchen table, dressed up with some extra sparkle via romantic taper candles and toasting coupes); or with a bead and tassel garland, which can serve as a great entranceway for you to join your reception for two.

Don’t get us wrong, we know that it’s much easier said than done to go with Plan Z, when Plan A seemed absolutely, positively perfect – and then an outbreak ensued. But if you’ve had to become nimble with your nuptials, know that we’re right there with you and will help in any way we can!  For sweet, easy adds to your intimate affair, if that’s the way you’re leaning, shop the Style Me Pretty Collection exclusively on site now. Or start stocking up for the happier times ahead!

Spring brides – don’t forget to check out the full gallery of images to get all the spring wedding inspo you’ll ever need, taken by Amy Arrington Photography!

From Amy ArringtonKristen and Greg met during the first weekend of their freshman year in college at St. Louis. Shortly after, they had joint study sessions, and casual dinner dates in the dining hall. They continued dating for 8 years, and decided to tie the not on April 6, 2019.

They chose to have their wedding at the historic Swan House in Atlanta, Georgia. Their vision was to have a classic spring wedding, and it was one of the most beautiful classic spring weddings that one could ever hope for. The pink dogwood trees were in full bloom surrounding the house.

The beautiful architecture of the swan house is amazing alone, but paired with gardens full of spring flowers and electric green foilage is next level. Soft, delicate florals arranged beautifully by Alyssa at Ginger Rose were perfect for the spring season.

The large flower arrangements at the ceremony site were incredible statement pieces with the most gorgeous dogwood flowers. And nothing says spring more than dogwoods! The tablescapes at their reception had a whimsical feel and consisted of a variety of florals with soft textures.

3 Easy Ways to Throw a 20+ Person Party on a Budget

This stunning outdoor party is proof that you don’t need a huge budget to wine and dine your loved ones. With three easy tips plus gorgeous inspiration from Rachel of Blue Barn Photography + Anna of Twenty-One Films, pulling off an unforgettable evening is as easy as backyard, batch cocktails and foraged greens. See even more of this pretty evening in the VAULT.

Instead of spending big bucks on renting an event space, consider hosting at home and utilizing that free backyard of yours. Don’t have extra seating for all your guests? Fear not! Renting a tables and chairs will be much more cost effective than renting a whole venue.

When it comes to food and drinks, create a big batch signature cocktail and offer appetizers and ask each guest to bring a larger dish.

Forego expensive floral arrangements and go for lengthy foraged greens that run down the center of your table paired with candles for a simple yet crazy gorgeous look.

From Anna of Twenty-One Films… Dear friends for over a decade, Rachel and I longed to host a summer gathering (#asummersoirée) for our closest friends. The kind that goes down in the books and shapes our summer memories as much as each friendship has shaped our hearts. The tables were adorned with simple candles and olive branches. We wanted to create a clean and natural setting, so that our friends could focus on meaningful conversations with each other, rather than the decor. We decked Rachel’s backyard with twinkling lights, fresh herbs and our favorite summer blooms. The evening included soft music, LOTS of laughter, and mouth-watering farm-fresh Italian cuisine. The subtle Italian influence was intended to emulate a culture that focuses on slowing down and enjoying conversation with friends over good wine and delicious food. We couldn’t have done this without Cottage Luxe, who partnered with us to seat all twenty-four of our closest friends. It truly was an unforgettable night.
