A Classic French-Baroque Inspired Affair in the Heart of Texas

Get your Pinterest finger ready, this Texas wedding is filled with French-Baroque touches that will make your heart skip a beat. The bride and groom worked with Maren Bellington to create a day that’s equal parts classic and elegant. Fabulous flowers in white designed by Blushington Blooms add to the opulence. You’ll fall in love with every inspired image by Mackenzie Reiter Photography. Visit the full gallery for even more lovely.

From Mackenzie Reiter Photography… High school sweethearts Elizabeth and Connor were just weeks away from their big day at The Olana, a stately mansion with French countryside elegance just outside of Dallas when it became a real possibility that our wedding could be canceled due to the pandemic.

Weddings in Texas were permitted to resume at the end of May. Elizabeth and Connor’s opulent, timeless day was spared just in time and with overwhelming gratitude. From the sparkling chandeliers, lush landscaping, pink velvet walls, and a hand-carved spiral staircase, the day had an atmosphere worthy of royalty.

“No amount of preparation can ensure that your day will turn out as planned, so try to be flexible,” said Elizabeth the bride. “Even though this pandemic makes the planning process more difficult, there are still options! Don’t forget that.”

A Kitchen Reno that Went From Drab to SERIOUSLY!?

This might be the single most “are you serious” transformation we have ever seen. While subtly changing up the footprint, moving around cabinets and the positioning of the island, saturating the room in head to toe white and gorgeous hardware, this kitchen had a full on swan song makeover. Designed by Anna Beth Eskridge of Making Room for Peace, we are SO here for all of the pretty. Head to the end to see the incredible before and afters! Photos by We are Luke & Ashley.

Talk about serendipity and you would have to talk about the Del Ray Project. The location, the social connections and overall design process. There was a seamless workflow that was an absolute pleasure to be apart of!

While this might sounds crazy, the saying is true…”inspiration is everywhere!” So no joke, one of the very first decisions that we made was that we HAD to have these Gabby Decor counter stools! From there, the look and feel of the new kitchen began to really take shape.

When it came to the styling of the Del Ray Project, we kept the accent pieces light in color but heavy in texture! With such a bright, white kitchen we didn’t want to bring anything jarring, as it would take away from the elegance of the space; so we used a lot of materials such as worn wood (i.e. vintage cutting boards), blown glass seltzer bottles, heirloom silver trays and European apothecary jars. We also brought in special pieces that belonged to the client like a gorgeous vintage rug!

Pro Tip: We love using heirloom pieces when styling our client’s homes. In the Del Ray Project we were able to incorporate our client’s Turkish rug and vintage salt and pepper shakers. These moments, these found objects, are what really make a space feel like “home.”

Since the space isn’t incredibly large, we thoughtfully chose each piece to have meaning and purpose. To elevate the bones and provide a useable moment of beauty, from the hardware we chose to the furniture and decor. This Gabby accent table was another splurge but one that was well worth-it! The beautiful flower-shaped rim adds a softness and feminine nod to the space.

Wanting to keep the design of the room fairly simple to bring a more open feeling to the space, we incorporated the existing love-seat while also bringing in matching floor lamps and woven accent tables. This set-up really helped to create a cozy space that still provided a large enough walk-way for kitchen traffic.

We have to give a special shout-out to Moore Construction Group, who designed the layout of this space. They did a fabulous job not only creating better flow but incorporating enough storage so that every nook and cranny could be put to use. You walk into this kitchen now and feel like you can breathe (and move!).

The accent pieces within the space are absolutely beautiful, and are ones that will age well over time. The Circa Lighting pendants tie in beautifully and emphasize our goal to allow this space to age gracefully, the textiles capitalize on forever fabrics, the decor is a balance of old and new and the simple, clean palette means that food, family and love can take center stage.

BEFORE / AFTER

Brace yourselves for the incredible, full bodied before and after.

Before, the kitchen was dark and crowded, to say the least. As with most older homes, space is at a premium so one of the things that we knew would have to go was the peninsula! Not only did it make the kitchen tight but it blocked any sort of flow. We opened up that side of the kitchen and instead, installed a sleek island for more counter space and seating.

While it is our desire to create beautiful spaces, it is our goal to create those beautiful spaces that will also be functional, that will bless our clients with a life more easily lived. It’s been music to our ears to hear from Andy and Babs on how much they’ve enjoyed using their kitchen. Due to Covid (and working from home), Babs often finds herself working at the island here.

Photography: We Are Luke & Ashley | Interior Design: Making Room for Peace

In the evenings, you can bet that Andy is at stove whipping up something magical. In the months to come, as more people are vaccinated and cases continue to go down, you can bet that there will be friends and family over, eating and laughing around the island!

See Dylan and Cole Sprouse Looking “Suite” at Their Best Friend’s Gorgeous Descanso Gardens Wedding

Be prepared for the ultimate dose of pretty at this Thai-American summer garden wedding! Duan & Craig met in 2010 on the set of Disney channel’s “The Suite Life on Deck”, so fittingly, the iconic Dylan and Cole Sprouse served as the best men at their wedding (fangirl moment!). Their wedding at Descanso Gardens was filled with elements of tasteful blush tones, all pulled together by the wizardry of Leilani Weddings. Shindig Chic absolutely blew us away with their summery and feminine arrangements. Just look at those bouquets! Head to the full gallery, captured perfectly by Mist of Morning Photography, for a closer look at all the fun!

From Mist of Morning PhotographyDuan & Craig met in 2010 on the set of Disney channel’s “The Suite Life on Deck”. Duan had noticed Craig after seeing him regularly at work, but it wasn’t until she was directed to cross his line of vision during a scene that he first saw her. After chatting in person, they began messaging on Facebook and haven’t gone a single day without talking since. Fittingly, Dylan and Cole Sprouse, who have become like brothers to the couple, served as the best men at their wedding.

Duan & Craig’s wedding brought them from Brooklyn, New York back home to Los Angeles, where they celebrated with 130 of their closest friends and family members. Their nuptials took place on a dreamy summer day at Descanso Garden – a romantic garden venue just outside of LA. Duan & Craig had some initial ideas of what they wanted their wedding to look like, but ultimately, they put a lot of trust in their vendors to guide them through the planning and design, and the outcome of that collaborative process was a tasteful, blush toned wedding palette with green and gold accents, and vintage touches throughout.

The creative freedom that they gave Leilani Weddings and Shindig Chic allowed the final look of the wedding design & florals to be somewhat of a surprise, and both Duan & Craig said that they were blown away when they saw how everything had come together, and that it completely exceeded their expectations. Reflecting on what their favorite part of the day was, Duan & Craig both said, without hesitation, “the Thai ceremony”. From the first time they ever discussed getting married early on in their relationship, the decision of whether or not to have a traditional Thai ceremony wasn’t even a question.

The main part of the Thai ceremony is the water blessing (Rod Num Sang) where guests approach the bride & groom and offer well-wishes as they pour water down their hands. Each water blessing was deeply personal, often accompanied by laughter and joyful tears, making this emotional ceremony a personal career favorite to witness.

The guests thoroughly enjoyed being a part of the wedding ceremony in such a unique way, and it allowed Duan & Craig the opportunity to connect with each person individually. These two make love look easy even though it’s not always quite so simple.

I heard numerous sincere remarks from guests on how much they admired Duan & Craig and the decade long relationship that they have built together. Their friends and family describe their love as one to follow, and it was a true privilege to celebrate with & honor them as well as the people who helped to bring them there. Enjoy!

4 Things Moms Can Make Magic With When Their Daughter Is a Bride

Moms are the best, aren’t they – especially when it comes to making their kids happy (and no matter how old you are, you’re still their baby #momsmaketherules, sorry). It’s true, when you get engaged and start the planning process, the day that lies ahead is yours; however, it’s also a huge day for your parents and an occasion that’s been on the radar for as long as you’ve been in a relationship with your fiancé/fiancée. Whether you’re the first in your family to walk down the aisle or the last to take your vows, if you have a wedding on the horizon, it’s every bit as exciting and daunting, exhilarating and exhausting to mom (and dad, of course, but today we’re talking about her) as it is to you.

She probably started reading up on her role as soon as that ring was slipped on your finger, but just in case she needs a refresher on the responsibilities that typically fall in her court, we’ve outlined everything below. Again, since it’s 2021, rules and etiquette aren’t the end-all-be-all that they were decades ago – but it’s still nice to have a ‘how-to MOB like a boss’ go-to guide to get started. So, if your mama just got promoted from mother to mother of the bride, maybe just leave this up on your computer for some serendipitous snooping on her part. She knows what to do and will be there for you 100p (with a shoulder to cry on, annoying albeit par for the course motherly advice to keep getting your sleep, and special gifts to make you feel like the prettiest bride there ever was), but she’ll still want to rise to this very important occasion – and we know exactly what she’ll shine with.

Read on for 4 things every mother of the bride can do to show her support leading up to the special day.

Gear up for planning in the year 2021.

We’re not saying that wedding planning is an entirely new process in 2021, but it’s likely a lot different than it was when your mother was planning for her own day way back when. Add to this the fact that a global pandemic wasn’t part of the big picture, either. So, for mothers of the bride who want to be the best partners in crime for their soon-to-wed daughters, staying up to date with wedding trends, tips, and to-dos and tackling some of the hardest touch points of your planning timeline is tremendously helpful.

Bonus bragging points for mamas who can come to the table with:

Set up your dress shopping appointments.

Historically speaking, the bride’s parents would pay for her wedding dress/gown, but these days, that’s not always the case (doesn’t have to be – sometimes the bride wants to cover the costs on her own!). Still, most mothers of the bride will book bridal appointments and accompany their daughters on at least the first day of dress shopping. And when it comes to sussing out styles and pros-and-conning certain silhouettes that fit you best, she’ll be an incredible and honest sounding board + the best person to calm you down if the experience gets overwhelming or uniquely pressure-some.

Bonus bragging points for mamas who come prepared with:

Host your pre-wedding event(s).

For as long as we can remember, the bridal shower has long been on the list of lots of mothers of the bride. It’s not mandatory, of course, but it’s a privilege that mothers love to take on in their daughters’ honor. So, that involves scouting out venues (or choosing to host at home), settling on a guest list, planning out a menu, organizing the run of show for the day, figuring out favors, brainstorming games/activities, all of it, really.

Bonus bragging points for mamas who hype up their baby girl’s bride status with:

Get you ready on the morning of [your wedding].

There is nothing we love more than the photos of a bride and her mom on the morning of her wedding – ones that illustrate a powerful bond and friendship (that was started well before a wedding was even a thought). For mothers of the bride, this is the time to bring your daughters their favorite caffeinated cup to relax and sip once they’ve made it to their bridal suite. It’s also a wonderful time to bring a few secret or unexpected things to add to their ‘something old, something new, something borrowed, something blue’ inspiration. Maybe it’s a gorgeous piece of jewelry or a family heirloom that truly levels up your aisle style when you need it most.

A Soft and Serene Nursery Built for the Sweetest Twins Ever

While I have designed 3 nurseries for my own little ones (to be fair, the first one was lovely, though they got progressively less lovely with each subsequent baby and a very tired mama), I cannot imagine the simultaneous joy and confusion that comes with designing a space built for two babies. But for mom and wedding planner behind Vanessa Michelle Co., it was a task that she was so grateful to tackle and the result was a space fit for the sweetest little prince and princess you have ever seen. With art-worthy images that they will forever treasure by Sposto Photography.

We had been dreaming of designing our nursery for years, but the universe had a different plan for us. It took us almost 4 years to finally get pregnant with the help of an angel doctor and IVF. All of those tortuous years were worth it when we got the call that we were pregnant.

We found out a couple weeks later that we were blessed with twins! One boy and one girl and so the designing began!

We love restoration hardware and pottery barn’s aesthetic and pulled inspiration from them. I wanted it to feel ethereal and magical because I felt these babies were just that….. magical.

We have a gray and nude color palette throughout the house and wanted to continue that into the nursery. We wanted the gray to represent our boy, Michael Anthony and the nude / blush to represent our girl, Isabella Rose.

I found this gorgeous Parisian wallpaper at Mahones Wallpaper shop that ignited the design. We built a piece to put the wallpaper on so we did not have to wallpaper the entire wall, then we centered an arch top mirror in the middle.

Naturally, as a wedding planner, tulle has my heart and I wanted to incorporate the gorgeous fabric along with gilded crowns above each crib.  I also added 2 dressers with changing table tops so if I had help we could change the twins at the same time.

A reading corner was very important to me as I was hoping to encourage the babies to be avid readers … which they are! I spent many hours rocking these sweet babies in my chair and enjoying every baby snuggle.

This space is so special to us and I enjoyed planning each detail that carried so much weight of gratitude that they chose us as their parents. I never understood how special a nursery could be until it was filled with so much love! We walk into this room with a joyous heart and such fulfillment.

This Garden Chic Wedding Was Held At A Mountain Base

Jessica and Eddie welcomed guests to the bride’s family home at the base of Mount Si for a weekend that no one will soon forget. The couple had a chic and minimal vibe at the core of their wedding aesthetic and worked with Event Planning and Wedding Design Company Elle and James Co. to bring her vision to life. The mother of the Bride, an avid gardener, manicured the property specifically for this event and began growing the flowers in the field months in advance to coordinate with the look of the naturally grown wildflower design by Gather Design Company. Every last photo by The Ganeys is a sight to be seen. Don’t miss a single detail in the full gallery.

From Elle and James Co.When planning their wedding, from the very beginning one thing was clear, Jess wanted to honor her parents and the wonderful childhood she had growing up in North Bend, WA by hosting their loved ones at the Hargett Family home. Located at the base of Mount Si, Jessica’s inspiration was drawn largely from images she had seen of weddings taking place in distant travel locations like New Zealand, Australia, and Big Sur.

Rather than holding a micro ceremony, they adhered to the safety protocols while continuing with full tablescapes and increasing the decor elements in order to create the illusion of fully seated tables, but with spaced out chairs to maintain social distance. Their guests sat by household in clusters for the ceremony and florals were hand “planted” in the ground around each pod to bring the illusion of guests seated amidst growing wildflowers.

Jessica and Ed knew their guest list would look a bit different than originally planned, but from the moment their wedding began to the very last dance of the night, love was present in every moment and it truly felt like the perfect day.

Pastel colors and a bride and groom surrounded by lush florals make for the most whimsical garden wedding planned by Styled Shoots Across America and Heather Benge Events at Rosewood Farms which is a venue like no other with so many picturesque backdrops. Not only did the beautiful bride steal the show, but the florals which were done in combination by Wilkins Taylor Designs, J. Starrs Flower Barn, and Monteray Farms truly made this inspiration shoot dreamlike from the blooming aisle and ceremony arch to the brides overflowing bouquet. Take a peek at all of the Brittany Frisch Photography captured and get ready to plan your garden party!

From Brittany Frisch PhotographyAs the snow melts and gives way to flowers opening, there is hope and joy in the air that spring brings with it. This whimsical, spring-inspired rose garden wedding was truly full of joy and delicate colors. What better way to celebrate spring than surrounded by roses and soft florals – from the arches of greenery and blooms adorning the ceremony site to the jeweled petals in the bride’s hair and the graceful and breathtaking bouquet that she carried, the couple was encompassed by color.

The elation as they ran down the aisle together reflected the mood of the season and the palette surrounding the couple. It wouldn’t truly be spring without a little rain, but that only added to the whimsy, as the couple shared a kiss under their umbrella.

This event was thoughtfully put together by Styled Shoots Across America and Heather Benge Events, and the awe-inspiring florals were a collaboration of Wilkins Taylor Designs, J. Starr’s Flower Barn, and Monteray Farms. Rosewood Farms provided the perfect airy backdrop for this event. This talented team of vendors was truly able to speak to and reflect the beauty of spring.

Elegant Affair On A Luxurious Farm Tucked Into The Rolling Hills Of Mississippi

Look up! For this inspired shoot, the couple arrived at their wedding destination by private helicopter. After arrival, the helicopter was adorned with florals and remained on-site for the most spectacular photos by Mon Soleil Weddings. The elegant editorial was dreamed up and executed by the incredibly talented Amanda Price Events. Wild, romantic florals in bright tones by Kim Starr Wise Floral Events bring the essence of a spring wedding to life. Get ready to swoon over every last detail in the full gallery.

From Amanda Price EventsThe inspiration for this shoot was born from the love of intimate weddings and the opening of the south’s newest venue, Infinity Farms. Tucked into the rolling hills of Southern, Mississippi, just 45 minutes East of New Orleans, Infinity Farms is the Gulf South’s newest and most elegant event venue.

A private helicopter was chartered to bring the soon-to-be-newlyweds to meet their family and friends who were waiting for them to arrive. The helicopter remained on the property throughout the party and was adorned with florals and a lounge to make for an exciting photo opportunity for guests as they mingled and celebrated the couple throughout the evening.

After the ceremony, the couple and their guests dined in the outdoors surrounded by the beauty of the rolling hills. The dinner table brought the color palette and details of the space together by incorporating taper candles in lavender and pink and paper goods whose lines mimicked the architecture of the Pavilion.

A Family Home that Celebrates an Endless Summer

What if your every day home could feel exactly like your dream vacation home? With a serene and simple color palette, seaside inspired decor, crisp white walls and porch that beckons you to crack a beer and stay a while. Well, this family did just that and the result – designed by Scott and Kimberly Nicol – is the very definition of  “ahhhhhh.” Images by Johnsons. Photography.

You can’t deny the feeling of an endless summer. There is something about a comfortable, Southern California, coastal home that always feels good. Our beach bungalow offers contemporary costal designs, with the small town charm of Mayberry, El Segundo. With traditional California Craftsman bones, down to the mounted Clark Foam surfboard blank, we pride ourselves in the authenticity that is South Bay LA.

Elegant And Intimate Lytle House Elopement

This picture-perfect elopement is sure to steal your heart. Held at The Lytle House in Chicago, Jennifer and Andrew said “I Do” in front of an intimate guest list of five. They turned to Pop the Knot to create a day filled with enchanting and heartfelt touches. Floral moments by Ashland Addison Floral & Event Decor bring the special day to life, and the imagery by Mandelette Photography has us feeling as if we are there celebrating! Take a closer look at all the fun in the full gallery.

From the bride… We met during my first semester and Andrew’s last semester as graduate students at Indiana University-Bloomington through the dating app, Coffee Meets Bagel. Somehow, we were each other’s first matches on the first day we both downloaded the app, and now we will be each other’s last matches!

After the engagement night came the realities of COVID, families overseas, and our current living situations hit. Eager to start our lives together as soon as possible, we spent many nights discussing future plans. When my sister found out she had to leave the country at the end of March, it kind of hit at the same time: “Hey, why don’t we just get married? We’ll just elope!”

The small reception afterward with five of our most special friends and siblings was relaxing, fun, and comfortable. The intimacy of the wedding made it possible for us to really talk to our guests, enjoy our own wedding with each other, and truly celebrate with our loved ones.

I think it is safe to say that Spring has officially made its appearance, and if it hasn’t made your way yet, then this inspiration shoot by Megan Kay Photography will certainly give all the springtime feels! With brightly colored florals by Blushington Blooms and a mix of romantic and modern designs throughout detailed by Alexa Kay Events, this intimate setup at The Olana is everything I needed as we inch closer to the weekend! Take a look below and be sure to take note of not one, but two beautiful Berta bridal gowns!

From Megan Kay PhotographyWe designed this shoot for the bride that values both the modern and romantic look. Our team was inspired by the colors of springtime and the European architecture of The Olana. We wanted to paint a picture of a cheerful and detailed celebration on an intimate scale.

The lush, colorful florals by Blushington Blooms helped to add the element of romance and paired beautifully with the two BERTA gowns and refined, modern details.

Brite Beauty helped to create two separate looks for our bride that highlighted her features and nicely complimented the neckline of each gown.

Alexa Kay did an incredible job in leading the design for our shoot. She is gifted in weaving in beautiful details that show intentionality on both a large and small scale while also adding to the overall mood for the design.

How You Can Be a More Earth Friendly Hostess

Beth Helmstetter has long been considered one of the best event planners in the industry. She is pure talent and we are so lucky to have featured many of her luxury weddings on Style Me Pretty. But today, in honor of Earth Day, she is channeling her deep knowledge of hosting events into simple but thoughtful ways that you can host gatherings at home while still being conscientious of your environmental footprint, making space for an even more beautiful, an even more delicious, an even more meaningful celebration. Photos by Lauren Ross.

From Beth…After spending over 15 years planning milestone celebrations around the globe, I learned quickly that the most successful gatherings ensure guests feel thought of, comfortable and honored to be in attendance.

When hosting in my home, I’ve always believed that memorable gatherings are created with intention. From the platters you chose to serve your meal on, to the way you source the ingredients in each menu item, even the products you use to design a tablescape and to clean up afterwards.

USE CLOTH NAPKINS.  It is possible to be both stylish and hospitable while honoring our natural surroundings. The first and easiest thing to do is to buy cloth napkins that are either sustainably made or vintage. They elevate your everyday dining and reduce your need to rely on paper towels.

INVEST IN FOREVER PIECES. Invest in platters, flatware and glasses that you plan to have for the rest of your life. Find beautiful pieces from a local ceramicist, display foods on your collection of cutting boards or be more intentional about sourcing beautiful serving pieces from local artisans next time you travel.

SOURCE YOUR FOOD THOUGHTFULLY. Choosing meats, seafood and dairy from small, environmentally conscious farms is the number one most sustainable thing you can do when entertaining or preparing any meal for that matter. This might take a bit of effort but talking to a local butcher shop or a purveyor at your farmer’s market, is a great starting point.

Ask specifics about the farms your food is coming from. What do their farming practices look like as it pertains to protecting the environment and treatment of the animals? The same goes for produce. What’s fresh? Where is coming from? And for me, I always go a step further to understand how the employees are treated, as well. A low-waste, sustainable menu starts with research and asking lots and lots of questions.

CHOOSE IN SEASON FOOD. When hosting a gathering at home, plan a simple menu that doesn’t have a huge environmental footprint. Once you find a supplier who aligns with your values, this becomes far easier and you can move on to designing a menu around the products available that week.

From there, the recipes are the easy part! My instinct always goes to light pastas and stone fruit salads in the summer time or a harvest inspired farro dish with a beautiful piece of fish in the late fall.

CLEAN UP CLEAN. I never use paper towels. I have a collection of cloth napkins that are recycled into cleaning towels once they get a little too beat up for entertaining. For cleaning products, I use Seventh Generation and Mrs. Meyer’s. Both lines are easily accessible at my local grocery stores and do a great job. That said, when I have the foresight to plan ahead, I do love Veles because of their zero waste packaging and overall ethos as it relates to sustainability and the environment.

BOTTOM LINE? Challenge yourself to reinvent the way that you entertain and host guests at home in a way that supports the environment and celebrates the natural beauty of our world. Even the smallest adjustments will help build a more sustainable land. And will most likely give way to an even more spectacular, deliciously inviting evening.

Bella Belle’s New Metamorphosis Collection Is Here to Empower Women In Feeling Confident In Their Own Skin

Prepare to fall deeply in love, because this gallery is unlike any other. Every image captured by KT Merry Photography of Bella Belle’s new Metamorphosis collection is a work of art. If we’re being honest, these might be some of our favorite photos of all time – no exaggeration! The collection was created to empower women throughout their own metamorphosis and path to identity, how amazing is that? When we found out the mastermind behind today’s editorial was miss Joy Proctor, the design queen herself, it came to no surprise. From the jaw-dropping gowns to their matching pair of heels – there’s truly a look in here to satisfy every bridal style! See all the swoon-worthy fashion you don’t want to miss at the full gallery.

From Bella Bella Shoes... This editorial took us through our heroine’s captivating metamorphosis path to self-identity. Inspired by nature’s butterflies, the profound story follows her stages of transformation to awakening through colors. With her resilience and hope, she emerged at the end of her journey with a newfound confidence and freedom.

The collection is filled with subtle notions of a butterfly in the form of silhouettes, fabric techniques, and artwork to emulate its natural ecosystem. The collection is created to empower women by making them feel comfortably confident and beautiful in their own skin, as they go through stages of their own transformation.

The story is enlivened with our heroine in feminine, voluminous and playful frocks. The evolution of colors reflect on her newly established confidence and self assurance. As she evolves through every stage, she realizes what makes her different is what makes her special.

Through it all, she found comfort in vulnerability in being comfortable in her own skin. This story is our declaration of femininity and a proclamation of confidence all rolled into one.

Spring Is In The Air At This Blush of Modern Romance Editorial

Spring is in full bloom at this modern, romantic editorial shoot. Naomi Bennett Design created a day that celebrates the beauty of the season, inspired by a garden with color tones of blush and green. Stunning organic floral arrangements were designed by Not Just in Novels, adding a touch of whimsy to the celebration. You can feel the joy in the beautiful images by Lorin Kelly Photography. Visit the full gallery to celebrate all things Spring.

From Naomi Bennett DesignIn this spring editorial, modern meets romance in a blush and green color scheme. The inspiration behind this design was driven by the desire to create a modern and trendy wedding day yet still be every bit as romantic and ethereal!

Our ceremony backdrop was the well-lit windows and stairs of our beautiful space in Downtown Los Angeles. We had an asymmetrical and open floral backdrop with arrangements in varying heights and sizes. We wanted blush hues paired with ivory tones and Spring green to create a spring floral dream.

Each place setting was paired with a hand-calligraphed French Macaron which created the perfect guest-minded experience to welcome everyone to their seat. This design was meant to create whimsy and elegance and featured a beautiful flow. It was minimal and organic but with a huge impact on beauty and romance!

Embracing Big and Bold Colors With the Pantone Color of the Year for These Intimate Northern California Nuptials

There is something to be said about neutral color palettes (they are a personal fave of mine) BUT sometimes a bold color like a marigold yellow, can really set the mood for your day and I am loving the way Sparkle and Dust Events incorporated it into this inspiration shoot perfectly! From the stationery by Sablewood Paper Co. to the hints of yellow in the floral design by Fig & Vine Floral Design to even the linens, the color was carried through the day from start to finish. Take a look below at Ash Baumgartner‘s stunning photos and all the magic she captured at Park Winters!

From Ash BaumgartnerIn the heart of California’s Northern Region lies Park Winters – an intimate private estate venue lush with green gardens, romantic California light, and a pleasant ivory tower, perfect for nuptials of all styles and aesthetics. But what really brings the beauty of the secret gardens and the golden state’s natural facades to life is color – the Pantone Color of the year to be precise, a pop of Illuminating marigold mixed with an assortment of Pantone pinks to complement. And that is exactly what Sparkle and Dust Events brought to life – a playful and romantic color combination that embraced big and bold colors for intimate Northern California nuptials between Ricky and Elijah on a beautiful, yet windy spring day.

Integrating the Pantone color of the year, Illuminating, in a luxurious yet lovely way was the key focal point of the design by Sparkle and Dust Events. From flowing marigold linens on the intimate reception space to pops of Illuminating throughout the floral design by Fig and Vine, a little ray of color sunshine spread its beauty in this inspirational editorial.

As guests arrived at the gardens of Park Winters to see Ricky and Elijah tie the knot, they were greeted with the warmth of the California light, a view onto the venue’s garden labyrinth, and a joyful celebration of two in love as they read personal vows to each other. They knew they were in for no shortage of color based on the beautiful and unique invitation suite by Sablewood Paper Co., complete with marigold and pink details, a custom wax seal, and unconventional shapes. As the ceremony ended, guests perused over to Park Winters’ patio to be greeted with three signature cocktails special to the bride and groom from Bottle and Barlow. Delicious passed appetizers from Pita Kitchen Plus making the rounds to ensure guests were satiated before dinner and dancing. As guests enjoyed their eats and drinks, the couple snuck away to a private lounge near Park Winters’ iconic fountain – a luscious pink velvet couch dripping in florals, perfect for two and a moment for romantic relaxation.

To guide guests to their intimate dinner reception stood an escort display full of love – quite literally lined with beautiful flowers, loving aromas, and a headline declaring Love Me Wild by Fig and Olive Designs. As guests took their seats on Park Winters’ outdoor patio strung with cafe lights, the wind died down and they could enjoy their intimate dinner complete with ghost chairs, custom calligraphy place cards, and bountiful and illuminating florals. The guests were stunned come dessert to see a two-tiered beauty of a cake hanging from the venue’s iconic door arch to the relaxation area dripping in floral and greenery.

While the marigold and pink details were intertwined throughout the day’s inspirational design, nothing wowed more than the couple themselves in stunning ensembles. The bride Ricky was clothed in a stunning sweetheart-lined Beccar Couture gown from Grace and White Bridal with classically romantic hair and makeup by Kourtney Madore and Saja Daood respectively. Light touches of diamonds and romance traced her fingertips and wrist from Sharif Jewelers. And her groom Elijah, the love of her life, surprised her with a classically chic pink tuxedo from Tuxedo Den. Adorned with bountiful florals from Fig and Vine, the two stunned guests with their illuminating beauty.

Captured by film photographer Ash Baumgartner and cinematographer Taylor Petrinovich resulted in an illuminating day full of inspiration for couples looking to incorporate the Pantone color of the year, Illuminating in a romantic and luxurious way.

Baby Shower Theme: You Are More Than Just A Dream

Dressed in white from head to toe, this angelic celebration was more than just a baby shower. It was a way to honor the beautiful mama-to-be’s pregnancy journey and the baby that she dreamed about for so long. With close friends and family, Cassandra – who happens to be the founder of Event Prep, a wedding and event design firm – crafted a day that felt equal parts meaningful and celebratory, from the sweet details to the endearing theme. This is a baby shower that was built with style -and a whole lot of love. Photographs by Amanda Collins.

After years of dreaming about being a mama, fears of infertility and suffering a miscarriage, being pregnant has been one of the biggest blessings of my life. I truly realize how lucky I am to be able to celebrate this pregnancy with a baby shower.

I’ve always had a baby playlist I would listen to when I needed to go for a drive to hope, pray or cry it out. Ezra Vine’s song “Celeste” features a lyric “you’re something out of a dream,” and I knew if I was ever pregnant that’s how I’d feel. ⁣⁣

After leaving one of my doctors appointments this time around, another one of the songs on my playlist came on the radio: Fitz & The Tantrums’ “Out of my League.” I heard the line “you are more than just a dream,” and a calmness came over me because I knew God had a plan for us all along and had blessed up with this little boy. ⁣ It wasn’t just a dream anymore, it was more, it was real.

Later, when I was thinking about the baby shower, I knew this HAD to be the theme. The baby shower was hosted by my mother-in-law and aunt, they graciously allowed to me to take the reigns when it came to planning out the design and details.

Invitations via Minted helped set the tone of the theme of the day for our co-ed shower and guests were encouraged to take advantage of the color palette by wearing their favorite white attire.

As guests entered the white brick venue space, a “So Fresh & So Clean Clean” sanitizer station was available for them with hand sanitizers and masks to ensure everyone felt comfortable celebrating during this period of Covid.

Large balloon garlands, meant to resemble clouds, hung from the ceiling. As guests made their way to their seats they were greeted with place settings that featured custom ribbons with each guests name on them along with sugar cookies that resembled baby onesies, a sleepy teddy bear under a blanket, and a letter cutout A with calligraphy “August” added on top; a way for us to introduce our baby boy’s name to our family and friends.

A circular table filled with balloons, complete with a giant teddy bear floating from the clouds as the centerpiece, was reserved for family members. For an extra special touch, custom cloud and star printed napkins were sewn for each guest to use, all of which will be repurposed as burp cloths when the baby arrives.

⁣Floral centerpieces and arrangements included white roses (a nod to my middle name – Rosina), baby’s breath – some dyed to baby blue for an ombre feel – hydrangeas, snapdragons, daisies, and more. Flowers were also displayed on a hand painted wooden backdrop wall, a spot for a photo opportunity, with blue clouds and a white background with the theme of the party displayed on the front – “You Are More Than Just A Dream.”

One of the dreamiest details of the party was our “On Cloud Nine” white swing where guests could pose for a photo while being surrounded by fluffy white clouds, made with white lanterns and poly-fil. A “Poppin’ Bottles” champagne bar was set up with cotton candy cloud toppers and Fre champagne, a non-alcoholic version, was a perfect option for the mama-to-be another guests could take advantage of that or the other options available. A beverage station was also available with the Daddy-to-be’s and future Grandpa’s favorite beers.

The menu featured boxed lunches with chicken salad on croissants and an assortment of sandwiches paired with pasta salad and fruit. This allowed for us to cater the event in a way that each meal was individually packaged for our guests while being mindful of the current regulations in place for the event industry. A blue and white iced two tier vanilla cake was displayed on a white wooden pedestals that came complete with BABY blocks and a fondant teddy bear at its base.

All of the details, but more importantly being showered with love by family and friends, helped to create the dreamiest atmosphere for my husband and I as we anticipate the arrival of our baby boy, August Charles, in two short months.
