Get Ready For Not One But Six Show Stopping Ceremony Arches Bursting With Bright Blooms

Are you looking for a new spin on the floral ceremony arch we all love? Le Bloomerie decided to take the concept to new heights with not one but six cathedral arches as a wow-worthy wedding ceremony backdrop, covered in brightly colored blooms, of course! K. Saw Weddings dreamed up a day filled with pops of corals, peaches, and pinks with hints of gold to add some modern glam and romance. We’re head over heels for every last detail expertly captured by Knock Twice Photography. Don’t miss all the special touches in the full gallery.

From K. Saw WeddingsI have been dreaming of Rosewood Sand Hill’s manicured lawn to set our ceremony scene with its stunning backdrop of Tuscan trees. Featuring not one but SIX cathedral arches as a wedding ceremony backdrop for our brides is absolutely a dream for us. Le Bloomerie envisioned vivid pops of colors on her floral arches while I balanced it with a contrast of white furniture from Lux Event Rentals to make the floral colors pop!

For our reception scene, we kept our furniture minimal to showcase the white modern farm table paired with modern Lana chairs which matched our ceremony chairs to keep our design cohesive. Lush floral centerpieces in hues of corals and pinks in O’flora blush vessels were perfect for a spring tablescape. I’m a huge fan of contrast and a touch of edge on my tablescape, so I have added a hint of black on salad plates from Bright Event Rentals to contrast the softness of the lush florals and silk runners by Amore Society.

A Sweet ending is a must on my weddings, Dahee of Cake by Dahee made a modern-style rice cake with bean paste flower decorations overflowing from our 3-tiered cake. Rice cake is a Korean traditional dessert that is gluten-free and vegan. This definitely added a romantic sweet note to our Secret Garden Editorial.

A Fairytale Inspiration Shoot at Château Saint Joseph in the South West of France

Grab your passports and transport yourself to the South of France with today’s dreamy cháteau wedding inspo from La Blonde et le Barbu Design. The delicate color palette of soft pink and green hues came to life thanks to heavenly arrangements from VIP Roses. Can’t wait to add every last detail to your Pinterest board? Head on over to the full gallery, all taken by Thomas Audiffren!

Storytelling :

Once upon a time at the Château Saint Joseph, a pure haven of piece in the South West of France, surrounded by nature and quietness…

A beautiful « Coccinelle » appears, rolling slowly. He is in the moving car. The car stops in front of the Castle, the door opens and he exits of the car with a worried face. Is she here ? Standing next to the car, he faces the impressive castle.

She’s inside, walking towards the window, worried. She heard the noise of the car. Is he here ? She opens the curtains a little. Her face lights up with a broad smile. He is here, finally !

She runs to join him, running in the stairs, running through the checkered room. She arrives outside, the light dazzles the audience. Outside, she throws herself in his arms….

Artistic direction :

The artistic direction of this editorial is conducted by the designers La Blonde et le Barbu and the film photographer Thomas Audiffren.

The decoration was purely inspired by the British elegance with soft tones of pink all arround the flowers. The castle offers a beautiful chapel with a stunning wood door. It was obvious that we had to create the arch in this specific location. La Blonde et le Barbu created an amazing setting and also a delicate table with original tableware by Joli Bazaar, chairs by Be Lounge , a tablecloth by Madame de la Maison. The table is sublimated by the wonderful chandeliers by Phos Events.

Karine Brossard did a beautiful work with the make up and the hair design of our lovely bride of the day, Cassandre. The wears a minimalist dress designed and created by the talented Marion Fera. This creation receives a unique lace full of details and, precisely, 57 buttons in the back. The bracelet and the earings from Sohelo Bijoux Mariage add a delicate touch to the bride’s look.

Baptiste, the incarnation of the British elegance and lover of Cassandre in the real life, wears an incredible and nobel suit provided by Igilles, based in Aix-en-Provence. No prince out of a fairytale would exist without is faithful « horse ». In our story, the horse takes the appearance of a green « Coccinelle » from Cocciwel.

The wedding cake is designed and created by LB Cake Design ans beautifuly decorated by floral creations of La Blonde et le Barbu.

The Watercolourist Eli Grilli (played by Marion Fera on the photos) follows our love birds during the ceremony. The very talented violonist Pauline Henric accompanies Cassandre and Baptiste during their dance at the sunset.

Jino Agnelli, filmmaker, tells us the romantic story of the two love birds in this fantastic castle in the South West of France.

Kicking off Pride Month With a Bold and Bright Editorial That Proves Love is Love!

We’re kicking off Pride Month with a bright and bold inspiration shoot that will certainly get you inspired for the week, perfectly photographed by Jenna McElroy! Designed by 36th Street Events at The Grand Lady, this editorial is here to show the world that love is love and all of the magic when bold colors are paired with bridal white from the florals by Remi and Gold to the stunning white bridal suit by the Suit Shop! Take a peek below and get ready to fall in love…

From Jenna McelroyFor this editorial workshop, we wanted to first and foremost celebrate pride! Love is love, and we want to share this through the design of this warm and bright editorial with two brides.

For this design, we wanted sleek white paired with pops of bold color incorporated through the backdrop and the floral elements. We wanted to create an ombre floral rainbow in the same color palette. Remi and Gold delivered by creating an ombre rainbow with the florals, going from white to neutral to red!

The Suit Shop formerly the Groomsmen Suit has expanded into the women’s market so we were so excited to use their white women’s suit for one of the brides! The other bride wore a modern chic gown. Both brides carried bright ombre bouquets.

In every detail, we tied in the bridal white complimented with warm reds and yellows! From the cake to the invitation suite, to the jewelry detail, it was incorporated to celebrate the brightness of pride paired with the stunning white of the bride’s attire.

European Inspired Wedding Editorial With An Abundance Of Magnolia

Frescoed ceilings, marble fireplaces, and crystal chandeliers set the scene for this European-inspired editorial at The Albion. Jenna Tracy Events created an event celebrating the Italian High Renaissance style of the estate mixed with all the makings of your favorite fairytale. Belovely Floral & Event Design created a dramatic and intimate ceremony space overflowing with blooms of white and cream, and the alfresco reception tables were set amongst a sea of Magnolia blossoms. The special touches and unique details were all artfully captured by Kylee Yee. Visit the full gallery to get inspired.

From Jenna Tracy EventsUsing the details from the interior design such as the blue found in the floral paintings in the drawing-room, complimented with a palette of neutral tones from the estate’s exterior façade allowed the nod towards the time-honored tradition of “something blue.” Rich textures and elegant hand-lettering juxtaposed with contemporary vessels and matte gold flatware are an intentional fusion of old and new expertly preserved by Harrison Films.

The bride is adorned in a luxurious silk chiffon robe overtop lace lingerie from Girl and a Serious Dream as she gets ready. Before descending the grand staircase for the first look, the bride slipped into an ethereal Liz Martinez wedding gown from SPINA Bride, a pair of Something Bleu mule silhouette evening pumps, and completed her ensemble with an antique diamond ring from Victor Barbone Jewelry and a pair of Jennifer Behr earrings.

Hand-calligraphed place cards and menus with a watercolor painting of the estate by Vidhi Dattani Designs welcomed guests to the long reception table. Sheer, floral applique linens from Nuage Designs topped with crystal glassware and embossed china from White Glove Rentals, and lush arrangements complimented the surrounding gardens. A quartet of crystal chandeliers from Lumos Co. hung from the branches, casting a beautiful glow over the dance floor.

The Meanings Behind the Wedding Cake: Spoiler Alert – Everything Is Pretty Sweet

Who can’t get behind a rousing game of two truths and a lie every now and then? So, today, we thought it would be fun to play the wedding cake edition. We’re going to outline three sweet sentiments on the top[ic] of the wedding cake, and you’ll need to determine which two are truths and which one is a lie. Ready? Okay, let’s go!

🍰 Towering cake tiers, at one time, provided a first challenge to just-married newlyweds
🍰 Wedding cakes must be white
🍰 Cutting cakes are an option for couples who might not want to serve wedding cake

They all sound plausible, don’t you think? But only two of them are accurate…

The Truths

Truth #1

Towering cake tiers (at the time, they were composed more so with buns, cookies, or other miscellaneous pastries) were championed by bakers during medieval times. They would essentially stack sweets as high as possible and then invite the couple to kiss over the delectable setup. If the two could smooch successfully, without causing the treats to topple, they would have good luck and fortune in their forever after.

Truth #2

Not every couple likes cake, and that’s totally okay! You can still get some super fun snapshots and honor the wedding cake tradition – of cutting the cake together, your first newlywed to-do after the ‘I Dos,’ without needing to serve up something spongy, layered, frosted, and/or dusted. Perhaps you’ll do a whole dessert buffet or do it up with doughnuts, or maybe you’ll go the savory route and add some bacon to some buttercream-decked cupcakes, either way, beforehand, you can cut a slice out of a modest cutting cake – prepared by your caterer or bakery – to the tune of “How Sweet It Is (To Be Loved By You).”

The Lie

If you said that ‘wedding cakes must be white’ was the lie, then you’re right! Sure, white cakes can be gorgeous; we’ve seen SO many of these monochromatic frosted or fondant designs over the years, and each one has been stunning (especially the white mini cakes that have become popular over the last year). That being said, you definitely don’t have to stick to the pure white palette – multi-colored confections and cakes topped with full-of-life florals are actually some of our favorites (we’ve always got some serious eye candy, courtesy of wedding cake, on our Gram grid)!

Our Style Me Pretty Shop is stacked with everything you could possibly think of to add some sweetness to your big day, even if you just want a small taste of the tradition. From toppers to serving sets, stands to plates, these wedding cake accoutrements are a total cut above the rest. See what we did there?

A Quintessential Southern Affair With Old European Flair

This is the type of venue that will leave you feeling shook after finding out it’s not actually in some distant European countryside locale, but in fact right here in the States. Today’s gorgeous real wedding at Houston Oaks flawlessly combines southern charm with old world European flair. Belle Events planned every detail to perfection while Flower Power Productions created floral magic in a romantic palette of greenery, ivory, and hints of pink. See it all at the full gallery, captured by Mackenzie Reiter.

From Mackenzie ReiterThe fifteenth century French chapel that served as the backdrop of Caroline and Grant’s Houston nuptials bears a striking resemblance to their relationship: crafted with precision and built with love, brick by brick. The idyllic, old world chapel is second to the waters of the picturesque lake surrounding it. Mighty oaks adorned with the South’s signature Spanish Moss make Houston Oaks an all-around stunner–and the perfect locale for Caroline and Grant to say “I do.”

“The venue alone is breathtaking,” said Caroline, the bride. “As a couple, we love to spend our free time outdoors, but come from more traditional families. The French chapel hosted everything we valued in one space. The surrounding greenery, ivory, and hints of pink provided a color palette that completed the venue and provided an effortless and natural look that we desired. The oak trees surrounding the chapel made decorating easy.”

Time-honored European flair and two hundred year old oak trees complemented a contemporary yet enduring aesthetic. The bridal party led the charge with the ladies rocking sleek, fresh silhouettes in neutral tones and the gentlemen opting for dapper suits with grey skinny ties. The bride’s gown was an absolute show-stopper by Rime Arodaky. From Caroline: “Choosing my wedding dress was the easiest part of the whole planning experience. My dress has everything I want in a romantic outfit. Once I tried on the dress at Lovely Bride: Dallas, the poofs on the shoulders and the lace top provided me with a sophisticated look that I could not get married without.” Caroline’s delicate, floral hair pieces created an elegant finishing touch that every bride can appreciate. The ceremony kicked off with a reaction from her groom that every bride dreams about. Tears were shed, promises were made, and the greatest party of the year was all but promised to follow. Besides a stunning ceremony and wedding day fashion to remember, Grant and Caroline made their priorities for the day clear: No one would be bored. “The Grooves Band did an excellent job of keeping our dance floor packed and the energy high by playing some old school sing-a-longs,” said Caroline. “However, this did not cause anyone to miss the ice cream bar, requested by Grant, served will all the toppings available. Many guests brought their ice cream back to the dance floor to keep the dancing going. All of this was surrounded by fire pits and oak trees lit for the evening to create a romantic ambiance.”

When it comes to planning a COVID-19 affair, the bride and groom had this advice to offer: “Don’t get stuck with one vision of what your wedding day can be. Seek out someone to help you plan, or be open to advice and try something that you wouldn’t normally go for. The wedding day can end up being even better than what you originally planned.”

The bottom line? You can make it happen. A stunning fete can be yours–even in a global pandemic. “I think that people who are easy going, open to new ideas, and focused on their love for their future spouse will have the easiest time,” offered the bride. “I think that the best part about planning a wedding was the intimacy of the size of the wedding. Grant and I felt like the people present were individuals that we truly loved and we got to spend time with them at our reception.”

[iframe http://player.vimeo.com/video/527979479 600 338]

And one last thing–get a wedding planner! “Being paired with a person who can help you envision your day and take responsibility to ensure that it’s even better than you dreamed it, is worth every single dollar,” said Caroline. “Chelsea, from Belle Events, has blown us away. Grant and I truly did not feel stressed during our planning process.”

At the end of the day, Caroline and Grant would tell a wedding planning couple to trust the process and remember why you’re doing this. It’s about so much more than the wedding–it’s about the marriage.

“The reason that a couple gets married is their love for each other. It is not about the love of details such as decor, hair, makeup or the flowers. Being able to keep that mindset present makes for a very romantic day and brings about a wonderful realization of how true the commitment is to each other.”

This Modern City Wedding In Melbourne Pulls Out All The Stops

Clarice and Gavin’s wedding was a beautiful celebration of Cantonese culture mixed with a modern design aesthetic. From the elegant red and gold tea ceremony to the contemporary reception design filled with mirrored glass tables and modern florals designed by KW Weddings & Flowers, the day was the perfect blend of tradition and style. Captured by Melbourne photographer Jasmine Pettersen, with a film by Aldin Ortinez, you can feel the love in all the beautiful imagery. Don’t miss the full gallery for a closer look at every last detail.

From Jasmine PettersenThe celebrations integrated the couple’s Cantonese heritage in multiple ways, including an intimate tea ceremony days earlier, where the couple, dressed in red and gold, honored their elders by offering tea. Towards the end of the night, the couple and their guests participated in an ebullient round of Yum Sing, the playful Cantonese tradition of drinking a toast to celebrate the newlyweds to rousing cries of “Yuuuuuuum sing!”

With sweeping views of the city’s glittering skyline through 9 meter high windows, Melbourne’s Metropolis Events provided the perfect backdrop for Clarice and Gavin’s sparkling, modern city wedding. The thoroughly contemporary florals included roses, lilies, hydrangea, and phalaenopsis orchids in pastel tones.

Playing up the loftiness of the space, the reception styling by Karen Wang added drama with Milan basket chandeliers floating above a mirrored glass bridal table. Round guest tables were elevated with taper candles in soaring crystal candelabras, making for light and modern centerpieces.

Today’s Sunstone Villa Editorial Is Inspired by the Reawakening of Weddings in 2021

They say fairy tales are fantasies that don’t exist, but only after you’ve seen these images will you believe in those dreamy stories! If we had to describe this one-of-a-kind shoot at Sunstone Villa in three words, we’d choose romantic, effortless, and intentional. Weddings by Susan Dunne planned a workshop that reawakened the senses, through eye-catching elements fueled by summer colors. Emblem Floral Design Studio’s light and airy floral arrangements completely set the scene and produced an idyllic atmosphere. If these incredible moments don’t reawaken your creative soul, we truly don’t know what will. Get lost in the prettiness at the full gallery, captured by the amazing Lucy Munoz

From Weddings by Susan Dunne… The theme of this workshop is Reawakening… It came from a conversation Lucy and I had about our industry being on pause (dormant) due to the pandemic and us (the wedding industry) being ready to get out there and do events.

This is where the reawaking part comes in…. As things are getting better and regulations are starting to lift, we are reawakening ( we are nurturing ourselves with knowledge, hope, and thriving ) and getting ready for some sort of normalcy after being dormant… We are reawakening our creative souls.

The design inspiration stemmed from the words, ” reawakening + Intentional.” We wanted to bring summer colors such as yellows, pinks, and neutrals to awaken our eyes. Every bloom was intentionally to complete the overall design.

Summer In Upstate New York Has Never Looked So Sweet And Sophisticated

Raquel and Michael’s Berkshire Mountains wedding captured the very best of summer in upstate New York. A tranquil and restrained palette of exquisite white and gentle blush tones enhanced the idyllic grounds of James & Hudson Farm. From a stunning pondside ceremony to a tented reception filled with organic flowers, Faye and Renee Floral and Event Design created a day worthy of your wildest wedding dreams. You’ll fall in love with every fabulous detail in the artful imagery by Emily Wren Photography. Watch all the magic of the day unfold in the full gallery.

From Emily Wren PhotographyRaquel and Michael greeted their guests with a cocktail hour in the gardens. A duo of strings played lilting classical music from the porch, as everyone mingled through the sun-soaked afternoon enjoying crisp beverages and a tantalizing array of hors d’oeuvres.

Guests made their way across the green lawns towards the floral-laden chuppah that Faye + Renee created at the edge of the pond. The columns of supple blooms and deep greenery were so lush that the structure appeared to have grown from the earth for this very occasion. Beneath that magical canopy, Raquel and Michael exchanged vows and were pronounced married just as the sun slipped out of view and the sky shifted into twilight shades of pink and purple.

Beneath a canopy of greens in the reception tent, long tables draped in French linen, set with gold-rimmed glass chargers and classic gold flatware, dressed with candlelight and soft, organic florals, awaited the couple and their guests. After an elegant meal and sweet first dance, Raquel changed into a show-stopping, modern jumpsuit and she and Michael danced the night away with their loved ones.

The Feels of a Vintage, French Chateau Wedding Right in Tiny Rhode Island, at The Glen Manor!

Sometimes all of the big destination wedding day feels can be felt right at home, like at The Glen Manor House in tiny Rhode Island, which feels like you are at a vintage, French chateau with its charming details. For this bride and groom who got engaged and married during the pandemic, small and intimate felt perfect for them with special antique-inspired details and classic floral arrangements by Stoneblossom Floral and Wedding Design. Check it out below to see all of the classic wedding day goodness captured by Meredith Jane Photography!

From the Bride…The Glen Manor House was perfect for us. It has the spirit of a French chateau without the 6-hour flight and was the ideal backdrop for a classic, French, vintage-inspired wedding.

From the bride: Our wedding was scheduled for early April, which comes with unpredictable weather, but boy did we luck out with the MOST beautiful day. The sky was Colorado blue, with only a few wisps of clouds, and the sun was shining brightly. We had our ceremony outside on the lawn overlooking the water, which is exactly how we imagined it when we first discovered Glen Manor House. Our ceremony was short and sweet, probably no more than 15 minutes, and at the end, we walked down the aisle together as husband and wife to the string quartet playing “Here Comes the Sun,” by the Beatles, so fitting! Despite our wedding being held during the pandemic, we had guests who made huge efforts to attend and vendors who ensured everything was safe for everyone. We are very grateful to all of them; our day was perfect! Looking back, there is nothing I would change about it.

How did you first meet?

Thomas and I met through mutual friends during medical residency at Dartmouth in 2016. He is an orthopedic surgeon, and I am a dermatologist. Some refer to us as a “Skin and Bones” couple, haha. My friend invited me to a party to introduce us. I was very nervous because set-ups can be awkward, but Thomas was very charming and made quite an effort to spend time with me the entire night.

How did Thomas Propose?

He proposed in May 2020, during the height of the pandemic, while we were walking along a path around Mascoma Lake in New Hampshire. Originally, he planned to propose during a trip to Positano, Italy, but that was canceled due to the pandemic. Instead, he had an Italian picnic basket waiting for us at the water’s edge that we came upon during our walk. Right when we arrived at “the spot” it started to snow, in May! Our friend was hiding nearby and captured the dramatic moment in the snow. Honestly, this was better than I could have imagined. Despite all of the awful things to come from the pandemic, I do appreciate how human interactions have become more authentic; there is no need for a grand gesture, as these true, quiet moments of love mean the most. We have frequented this area many times over the years during residency and it felt like the perfect place for us to start our life together.

Full Vision Of the Wedding:

I have always had an appreciation and love for antiques. I think I get this from my parents who took me to flea markets and antique shops growing up and taught me how to restore items to their former beauty. I love imagining the stories that could have been associated with these items: a dresser, a hairpin, a candlestick. Thomas grew up in a house built in the 1800s and also has an appreciation for times past. We especially love the architecture of French chateaus, which have quite a dreamy, romantic feel. We have visited France several times, especially because Thomas’s family has a French wine and champagne importing business. All of these factors were the inspiration for our wedding vision. We incorporated colors of creamy ivory, emerald greenery, silver, and champagne gold, along with a few dusty blue accents. I emphasized simple, classic, clean styling with lots of romantic candlelight. The week leading up to the wedding I spent hours polishing over 300 pieces of vintage silverware to complete the look!

Description of the Reception:

The reception was amazing! The vendors really listened and made my vision come to life. The multiple French double doors in the ballroom were opened and the setting golden sunlight was streaming in. The antique fireplaces were filled with candles and adorned with beautiful ivory garden roses, ranunculus, and hydrangeas. This complemented the crown molding and chandeliers of the vaulted ceilings at the Glen. We chose hors d’oeuvres that were inspired by our life in New England with a raw seafood bar and mini clam chowder in tiny mugs! As gifts for our guests, we also focused on decadent French desserts including macarons, madeleines, bouchons, and chocolate raspberry tartlets. We decided to forgo speeches except for one that Thomas gave to thank everyone for spending our most memorable day with us. We finished with a toast from a glittering champagne tower, filled with French champagne imported by Thomas’s family. After dinner and the cake cutting, Matty from Luke Renchan Entertainment seamlessly guided us through the rest of the night and played music everyone enjoyed. We ended the night with a fun trolley ride back to the hotel in Newport.

Description of the flowers:

The bouquet along with the table and fireplace arrangements were made of large ivory garden roses, tight clean white ranunculus, gardenia, and bright, happy white hydrangeas accented with emerald-green ivy and gardenia leaves. The fireplaces also had accents of blue tweedia.

Inspiration for your wedding cake:

We decided on a smaller cake because we also had French pastries. The outside of the cake was classic and clean, with dusty blue accents. I had originally wanted to use lily of the valley flowers along with cute little blue forget-me-nots in our floral arrangements because they both remind me of my mom. However, these were not in bloom in early April, so the pastry chef kindly incorporated them as a decoration on the cake, which was very sweet and meaningful! The inside of the cake included one layer of red velvet with cream cheese frosting and chocolate shavings. The second layer was chocolate cake with Oreo cookie frosting and chocolate/raspberry frosting. So many of our guests commented on how much they loved the frosting!

It is only an hour’s ferry ride from Lavrio, just outside Athens. This Cycladic island has everything a couple may need for a memorable experience in Greece. For us, nothing comes close to the romance of a night spent on the beach and asking your better half to share your lives. Surrounded by sand, salt, and million stars, a beach bonfire will warm the hearts, perfect for a proposal and a quiet romantic dinner. Matina and Lambros seemed so happy and content with each other, leaving everything behind and getting caught up in the moment. Popping the question under the starlit sky is oozing with romance and experiencing the greek beaches by night holds another level of beauty, not to mention tranquility and intimacy.

We love designing experiences for couples drenched in greek charm and the unique feeling of the Aegean. There’s something magical about watching the greek sunset by the flickering warmth of a beach bonfire, backed by the sound of crashing waves and waking up to the sounds of summer. Matina was thrilled Lambros chose such a creative way to ask her to be his wife! After a day spent in the sun and living the authentic island life, nothing compares with the romance of a bonfire proposal and a dip in the crystal waters of the Aegean while wishing on shooting stars. It’s an experience all couples should seek!

A “Town & Country” Meets “the Runway” Wedding Complete With an Iconic Floral Dress

Did you know a wedding dress can inspire a whole wedding design? Well, it can, and here’s how! If you’re a bridal fashion enthusiast, you’re no stranger to Monique Lhuillier’s dramatic and stunning “Bloom” gown. Inspired by the gown’s delicate floral pattern and chartreuse hues, MUSE Event Co. prepared a magical evening for Bianca and Massimo, full of fresh details guaranteed to inspire. Proving they can speak the language of flowers, Stemz created beautiful floral moments inside and out of the sophisticated Graydon Hall Manor. After many pandemic detours, the couple stayed true to their September wedding date, proving that love conquers all. To see all the jaw dropping photos of this special day, head to the full gallery, documented by 515 Photo Co.

From MUSE Event Co.… Proving that love conquers all, Bianca Crignano & Massimo Gagliardi stayed true to their September 26, 2020 wedding date and after many pandemic detours, ended up exactly where we never knew they were meant to be…the beautiful Graydon Hall Manor in Toronto, with 80 of their nearest and dearest.

Bianca and her family are true fashion icons, so it was no surprise that she chose to say “I Do” wearing the statement gown, “Bloom” by Monique Lhullier. The beautiful green details of Bianca’s gown inspired the “Town & Country” meets “The Runway” vision for the wedding.

Its delicate floral pattern and chartreuse hues quickly became a key focal point in all areas of this high-end wedding’s design. After saying “I Do” in a beautiful church ceremony, guests were invited to join in a magical evening filled with love, laughter, incredible food & wine, live music and a surprise fireworks show to cap off the evening’s festivities.

LA Dodgers DJ Peters’ Wedding Is A Home Run

Equal parts romantic and timeless, the wedding of LA Dodger’s DJ Peters and his bride Shae is everything we love about love. Filled with sentimental details, we can’t stop swooning over all the special touches like the ring bearer pillow and garter made out of heirloom wedding dresses from the bride’s mother, aunt, and grandmother, and also her late grandfather’s jacket. TLC Event and Design Coordination pulled the day together perfectly, and LC Floral Design filled it with show-stopping white blooms. You can feel the love in the imagery by Stephanie Lynn Co. You’ll love every single detail in the full gallery.

From the bride… DJ was drafted in 2016 to the Los Angeles Dodgers. He was in Arizona for baseball at the same time that I was there for my freshman year of college. We reconnected and decided to go on a date. Little did we know it would be the start to our forever. After three years together we had lived in 3 states, countless temporary homes, met lifelong friends, and grew together as a couple and individually. DJ proposed and we found ourselves planning our dream wedding during a pandemic.

When our venue canceled our wedding because of COVID-19, we were absolutely heartbroken but knew we had to figure out plan b. Luckily, the most perfect and beautiful estate fell into our laps when my aunt and uncle (also Godparents) offered up their beautiful home to us to tie the knot! In order to make an event happen during a pandemic, we cut our list significantly and had the most amazing, intimate wedding.

2020 was a year that we never saw coming. Through all of the trials and tribulations that the year brought, it was all worth it in the end. The Dodgers won the World Series, I graduated college, and we put the cherry on top of the cake by ending the year with a New Year’s Eve wedding!

The Meaning Behind a First Look and a Few Things That Can Make It Even More Special

Last month, we got familiar with all the reasons why a first look is a fantastic idea (and still is, always is!). Today, though, we’re going to rewind a little bit and uncover more about its origins, because a first look is still a pretty modern practice. For as long as weddings have existed, ‘tradition’ has held that the bride and groom do not see each other prior to their ceremony. The original first look happened when the bride walked down the aisle, joining her soon-to-be spouse at the altar. Of course, so many customs and rites of passage have evolved, grown, and matured over hundreds (if not thousands) of years, including the very rigid construct of marriage and forever partnership, altogether, which only started getting more flexible over the last 10, maybe 15 years. A man and a woman exchanging vows is just one of many different types of unions possible today, and by no means is it the standard. So, while there are lots of things to love about tradition, we love tweaks to the script even more!

Not seeing each other until the very last minute

It’s bad luck if the groom sees his bride before the wedding. We’ve seen this trope play out any and everywhere, from our most-loved movies to our most-loved TV shows, to the point that it’s just been accepted as truth. Here’s where things get a little icky, though, because that bad juju and irrational fear goes all the way back to a time when arranged marriages were the norm. Parents would set up their sons and daughters and engage in transactions that would prove fortuitous to each of their families. But since the ‘deals’ could only be sealed at the completion of the wedding ceremony, fathers would essentially sweat it out until their daughters were officially married off. Couples were kept separate for as long as humanly possible, so that the groom wouldn’t see his soon-to-be wife too prematurely and get ‘scared off’ by what she looked like. The thinking there was that by the time the groom saw his bride, her veil finally lifted from her face, it would be too late to call off the wedding. Game over, ladies and gents, the couple is married, the business has been settled, and now two families are richer, indeed.

Superstition ain’t the way

To quote one of our faves, Stevie Wonder, “When you believe in things that you don’t understand, then you suffer, superstition ain’t the way!” Truer words have never been spoken, especially when it comes to traditions as distasteful as the arranged marriage, spousal-separation-to-ensure-the-success-of-the-sale setup. Thankfully, we’re very far removed from those early, hardly PC days; and now, the tradition has softened to be more about a groom seeing a bride in her dress than seeing her in general (the arranged situation isn’t one we’re familiar with anymore, thank goodness!).

Wherever the first look happens it’ll be beautiful

And we can absolutely understand if a bride wants to keep the anticipation building by having a first look that takes place on the aisle. That said, we’re also big fans of first looks happening well before the wedding ceremony, when you can show off your dress, your suit, your tux, or even just yourself – with or without makeup, hair up or down, just in pjs or just in your last-morning-as-a-fiancée fashion – share love notes, take a stroll or take a spin as just the two of you

It’s an experience curated by you and your photographer and/or videographer, alone, so don’t feel beholden to any rules or red tape other than making the moment uniquely yours.

If you’re looking to bring some props to your first look photo session, take a peek at our Shop. You’ll want to keep things simple and low-touch, since your love will inevitably light up the whole shot; rest assured, these Style Me Pretty picks just enhance, they won’t steal the spotlight!

Their Guest Count Went From 250 to 25, Nine Days Prior to the Wedding Day – Here’s Proof That Love Conquers All!

These two may have faces setback after setback in a sea of disappointments prior to their wedding day, but you’d never know it from the looks on their faces – pure bliss. Today’s couple just goes to show you, no matter what goes according to plan or completely awry, the only thing that matters when it all comes down to it is the love you and your S.O. share. Nicki and Meka tied the knot with the help of One Fine Day Events in front of 25 of their nearest and dearests in Lake Tahoe. Just wait until you see the floral installations created by B&B Designs – we can’t get enough of this full gallery captured by Mike Larson!

From the planner, One Fine Day Events… From postponing, to re-planning the entire wedding numerous times, to finding out their guest count had to be cut from 250ppl to 100 people and then to 25 just 9 days prior to the wedding, Nicki and Meka faced a sea of disappointments and setbacks with their wedding. But, when their wedding day finally arrived, nothing could wipe the beaming smiles from their faces and stop these two from celebrating their love. The couple originally planned to get married on June 27th, 2020 with 250 of their family and friends at the Hyatt in Lake Tahoe.

The initial date was so locked in place that the groom had it embroidered into his custom suit. But when COVID threatened the likelihood of this celebration from occurring, the couple went into postponement mode with their planner. A Saturday in August became available so the optimistic couple secured the date. During the days, weeks, and months leading up to their wedding, regulations frequently changed causing a new plan to the entire celebration every week. From different venue locations, to changes in the food and beverage service requirements, and floor plan rearrangements, every week brought new changes. It was unfortunately not the glamorous and exciting wedding planning process couples anticipate, but Nicki and Meka were determined to get married and persevered through every disappointment, curve ball, and let down. When their wedding day finally did arrive, there was so much built up emotion across the board.

From the family members who jumped through hoops to travel and were just so desperate to celebrate with these two special people, to the vendors who rode this rollercoaster trying to meet every regulation, every person present at this wedding was so invested in helping make this celebration happen. As their officiant, Everett, so beautifully said during the ceremony, “If flights were canceled and the roads were closed, we would have walked. We would have done anything to be here to celebrate with you two.” It was one of the most powerful and meaningful ceremonies we have ever witnessed leaving all of us with tears in our eyes and big smiles on our faces. From ‘fun facts’ about the couple on the cocktail napkins to the “LFG” neon sign that represented the groom’s favorite saying, “Let’s Go!”, to the bride dancing to Whitney & the groom taking the mic to serenade the group, the celebration may have been small but it was booming with laughter, so much joy, and incredible memories. The evening came to a close with a surprise video friends made for the couple featuring a message from every guest who wasn’t able to attend. The video was streamed virtually, giving all friends and family at home an opportunity to watch and enjoy the couple’s reaction.

We designed everything to be very COVID conscious and safe for both the guests and all vendors.
● Masks were worn by vendors at all times and guests wore their Nicki & Meka branded masks or face shields as they walked around. When they were seated, they didn’t have to wear masks and were only seated next to those in their household.
● The ceremony & dinner were both very spaced out and we assigned seats and tables to each guest, grouping households together. We were concerned that a large table of 2 people would feel awkward, but with an abundance of flowers to use and creative spacing, it actually was very comfortable and a beautiful setting.
● Dancing was not supposed to happen outside of the couple’s first dance, but as you can see in the photos, it was impossible to keep this wedding seated. Nicki stops at nothing to belt her heart out to Whitney, and as you can see, Meka is not shy to join her when he takes the mic and serenades the group

While we had to change a lot of the decor and plans many times, every change was so worth it to see the smiles on Nicki & Meka’s faces and feel their love. Some services and products weren’t able to be used so they will be applied to their 2021 wedding celebration, which is also scheduled to take place at the Hyatt.

A Celebration Of Korean Heritage Filled With A Soft Spring Color Palette

Delicate and airy seasonal blooms are just the tip of the pretty in this editorial set out to celebrate Korean heritage. Blush Events designed a day inspired by a Korean-American wedding, and the result has us speechless. From stunning Korean clothing to modern floral arrangements by Jovial Floral Co., this is the perfect fusion of tradition and style. The elegance of the day was artfully captured by Joyce Choi Photography. Watch all the lovely unfold in the full gallery.

From Joyce Choi PhotographyThis styled shoot was designed to spread the Korean heritage. The Korean culture has become increasingly popular in the US and we felt that this would be a great opportunity to celebrate our traditions. The styled shoot resembles a Korean-American wedding as it was influenced by both cultures.

As an ode to the beauty of Spring in Korea, we used delicate and airy seasonal blooms such as sweet peas, clematis, and Belle Époque tulips in a soft, neutral palette. The romantic neutral floral palette was the perfect complement to the delicate and stunning Hanboks, providing inspiration for all couples wanting to incorporate fine art, modern floral design into their Korean culture-infused wedding day.

The “Hanbok” is the Korean term for Korean traditional clothing. Although it’s no longer worn daily, it remains an important part of Korean culture. People continue to wear it on special occasions and holidays. The Hanbok was designed to facilitate ease of movement and patterns were embroidered on it to represent the wishes of the wearer. It consists of two main pieces worn by both women and men. Women wear a skirt with a long sleeve jacket while men wear trousers with a coat-style jacket.

From 200 Guests to 20, This Backyard English-Garden Wedding is Wow-Worthy With The Sweetest Details!

Countless weddings were affected by the COVID-19 pandemic, from cancellations and postponements to cutting guest lists by 90% which is what this bride and groom did to keep their original wedding date. What started out as a tough decision, turned into an intimate backyard garden wedding, practically planned by the bride’s mom with overflowing blooms by Ebb & Flow Florals which transformed the space. Photographed by Jessica Bedore, you can feel the sweetness from start to finish, even from the local custard shop!

From Jessica Bedore PhotographyDuring a season of extreme uncertainty when many couples were choosing to postpone their wedding day, Margaret and Tim were faced with a choice they never thought they would have to make. After spending a year planning a grand garden affair with 200 of their closest friends and family members, COVID made those dreams impossible only weeks before their wedding date. After hearing the news that they could no longer host their wedding day as expected, the pair had to make a hard decision – whether to move forward with a different version of their wedding day while keeping their original date or postpone until months later.

The decision was really hard for Margaret and Tim, but after several phone calls with their vendor team, they chose to keep their original date in early June and host a smaller, more intimate wedding in Margaret’s parents’ backyard. Luckily, Margaret’s parents were up for the challenge of turning their gorgeous backyard into the perfect scene for an English-garden-inspired dinner.

Margaret and Tim and so many special touches planned, and we loved photographing all of the thought that was put into this day. Family heirloom wine glasses were on display as well as bottles of Cabernet from one of the family’s favorite Napa vineyards, Far Niente. As a surprise to the bride and groom, Margaret’s parents had a congratulatory message written on the sign for their favorite local custard shop Zesty’s Frozen Custard, walking distance from where the bride and groom grew up. Later that evening, after the cake was cut, guests were treated to an ice cream bar from that very same shop. Such a fun end to the day!

Highlights from this day as a photographer were the gorgeous tent and stunning flowers by Ebb & Flow Flowers. The all-day forecasted rainy skies that turned a beautiful golden color at dinner made our hearts sing and reminded us what wedding days are all about – celebrating the pure, undeniable love that couples have for one another, and that their families have for them.

From the Bride and Groom…Even before the pandemic, our wedding planning wasn’t a straightforward process. With Margaret in medical school in Omaha and Tim transitioning careers, planning a wedding in Wisconsin was challenging. We knew we wanted a summer garden wedding vibe from the beginning, but that dream became a big challenge leading up to the wedding as the scope of the pandemic became more and more clear in late spring. Despite our original plan fitting (mostly) within local restrictions by late June, we made the hard decision to move the reception to Margaret’s parents’ home, minimizing the guest count to keep everyone safe.

Our budget went a lot further under the new circumstances. The back yard and tent were transformed into an almost magical garden thanks to our incredible florist, Sunny from Ebb & Flow, and we got to plan the menu of our dreams through The Runaway Spoon since our guest list was only 10% of what we had originally planned. We had incredible vendors who we trusted completely, and their creative skills made the day exceptionally beautiful.

Ultimately, it was a team effort to make the day happen, and we relied on our families a lot to make sure that the details came together. From Tim’s family hosting the rehearsal dinner at their new home and his sister spending three days preparing their backyard, to Margaret’s dad booking us a tent only 48 hours prior to the wedding day when the forecast called for rain, so much of what made the weekend special was not in our original plan. We are really grateful for Margaret’s mom especially, for picking up a lot of the slack leading up to the wedding, as it was such a transitional time in our lives. Since the wedding wasn’t at a venue, there was no staff or planning support, so Margaret’s mom truly became our coordinator!

We have been through a lot of change and challenges together since we started dating our first year in college! We’ve done long-distance, a couple of cross-country moves career changes, medical school and so much more, so planning a wedding during a pandemic was just another thing on a list of unexpected turns for us. We are so grateful to have been able to celebrate safely with our loved ones!

Flower Forward Whimsical Garden Meets Classic Elegance Wedding

Flower lovers rejoice! You’ll have to look no further for inspiration than this whimsical garden meets classic elegance wedding lovingly designed by Nouvelle Weddings. From an abundance of organic florals seeming to grow from stone stairs to a cake surrounded by a bevy of blooms, Stacy Bowen Floral Design creates moments that take our breath away. The timeless touches and overall charm were artfully captured in the imagery by Alicia Lacey Photography. Don’t miss the full gallery for a closer look.

From Nouvelle WeddingsWhimsical garden meets classic elegance was the inspiration for this shoot that was so artfully captured by Alicia Lacey Photography. The mansion of Great Marsh Estate provided a dramatic and elegant backdrop for the classic, yet playful design.

For the ceremony, the couple was surrounded by organic, garden-style florals that enhanced the natural beauty of the surrounding field. Garden roses, ranunculus, sweet pea, and a variety of greenery lined the stairs and framed the entrance to the porch.

Two tablescapes were designed. The first with a luxurious style which had a large floral table runner, velvet napkins, and gold accents. The second tablescape provided a more whimsical look with gauze napkins, wicker placemats, and floral-etched glassware. To finish off the whimsical garden vibe, a classic white cake was decorated with fresh flowers, playfully dancing in a variety of heights and surrounded by a sea of florals.
