With a fresh twist on an outdoor garden celebration, you’re about to fall in love with this inspired wedding editorial at Kestrel Park. Drawing inspiration from the beauty of the surroundings, Krissy Campbell planned a day done in neutral tones for a delicate yet bold look. Beautiful blooms by Solstice Bloom created an unforgettable experience at every carefully curated vignette. From bonphotage… The rolling hills and oceanside escape off of the iconic Highway 1 brought us to the beautiful Kestrel Park in Santa Ynez, California. The blend of this incredible area with the nod to the English countryside architecture made it a perfect choice for a dream couple’s intimate west coast celebration. I couldn’t wait to create around the natural elements and beauty of the space, while also speaking to current topics of connection, thoughtful celebration, intimate post-COVID weddings, fashion, and travel at this stunning location. I wanted to showcase the versatility and options that a stateside venue like Kestrel Park provides to couples without necessarily having to travel outside of the United States. We decided to showcase a few vignettes throughout the property that highlighted the beautiful English-style architecture and gardens that could be used all year round. We designed a ceremony, tablescape, cake design, and various portrait locations that brought together cohesive designs for the couple’s aesthetic. To bring the vignettes to life, we decided on a late winter wedding date and, again, played to the property and its surroundings. I chose a color palette with primarily neutral tones and a touch of soft pinks and yellows, keeping in line with the fine art aesthetic while adding both personal touches and subtle wintery pops of color. I described the couple and their ideal celebration with descriptors such as “European-inspired, authentic, historic, refined, romantic, intimate, sophisticated, delicate yet bold, simply textured, hopeful, artistic, organic, timeless, and cultured.”

We also wanted to create a story for this couple that could be reflected in the experience and details of their time at Kestrel Park. This is the story of a couple with a love for travel and culture. They want to reflect their connection to the natural and European-style architecture while inspiring their guests to discover for themselves perspectives and stories beyond their own – to see from someone else’s “window”. To celebrate places and people that may surprise, challenge, and inspire. Their celebration speaks of their desire to use their travels and privilege to connect themselves and others to the innate beauty found in places and people wherever they go. All of this gave us a wonderful foundation to work with as we designed the experience. We began to connect with professionals that could beautifully bring these elements and values to life. We worked with the incredibly talented floral designer, Solstice Bloom, to create stunning floral vignettes that flowed naturally throughout each space – from a show-stopping ceremony installation outside the country house property to the tablescape lush with pops of softly toned florals, candles, and even added fruits – pears and grapes for guests to partake in. She also created the most romantic bouquet for the bride, just perfectly sized for her, and her delicate and romantic gowns by Lillie Mae Collection along with her whimsical bridal hair, makeup, and jewelry. The touch of florals and these lovely delicate details perfectly enhanced the already stunning natural landscape and architecture. The color palette softly played off tones of winter and the subtle tones both outside and inside the venue. We had so much fun weaving these together. From the light-colored chairs that perfectly fit to the simple English architecture to the velvet linens, the most natural pieces held the guest tables together while the pops of soft color came through in the florals, fruit, and paper details. The invitations and day of stationery by Ciarra Claire Fine Art were a truly personal touch as each guest received an antiqued grey floral menu topped with detailed vellum and tied with petite twine in addition to a personal place card. Subtle natural tones, hand calligraphy, and a floral printed vellum design in the invites and paper goods gave a nod to the inspiration found in the location and its surroundings as well. The texture in the china and flatware brought a true nod to the simple, yet elegant look of the venue’s iconic stables and gardens. The backdrop of the stone structure with the garden and mountains in view was the perfect spot for an outdoor dinner soiree surrounding the wedding day.

We also wanted to ensure that we captured the couple taking special moments for themselves throughout the experience. This is one of my top priorities as a planner and designer – to provide our couples with not only a stunning space but the ability to cherish the beauty of the moments together both alone and with their guests. The bride and groom were captured throughout the property in the natural element with the most perfect golden light and rolling southern California landscape. As you can see through the beautifully captured photos from the bonphotage team, each detail of the celebration and experience at Kestrel Park was thoughtful from beginning to end. The aesthetic and beauty was only heightened by the intimate moments between them and the intentional touches added for themselves and their loved ones. We hope this project inspires a timeless, yet highly personal and thoughtful approach to celebrations at a stateside destination that fits a couple’s love, values, and journey together!

Everything You Need To Know About Rings Before They Pop The Question

There’s something in the air. Maybe it’s the ads popping up on your shared computer or maybe it’s your crazy cosmic connection, but you’ve got a feeling…a proposal is not far off. This is one of the most exciting times in a relationship, but can also be nerve-racking. Your mind is going a mile a minute, “What if I don’t like the ring?”. It’s a legitimate fear. But let’s talk through it together. First…do you have an engagement ring Pinterest board? If not, get on that ASAP and definitely leave it face-up on your unlocked phone a few times as you strategically leave the room. You may be like some people that find they’ve been dreaming of this day but never actually stopped to think about what they wish the ring looked like. If that’s the case, we’ve got a crash course for you right here thanks to the engagement experts at Grown Brilliance. Here’s everything you and your partner need to know before they pop the question!

Shape and Style

Before you start dropping hints, you’ll want to narrow down your ideal engagement ring aesthetic. Are you into the classic yellow gold round solitaire or are you looking for something a little extra like a big pear-shaped rock in platinum? Grown Brilliance diamonds come in 10 different shapes: round, emerald, princess, cushion, Asscher, heart, emerald, pear, oval, radiant, and marquise. And choosing a shape is just the beginning! You’ll need to decide whether you’re looking for something ornate with multiple stones and a detailed setting or something more minimalist, where it’s all about the rock!

Types of Diamonds

Diamonds are by far the most popular stone for engagement rings. But, modern couples are leaning away from mined stones because of the less than savory methods used to acquire them and opting for lab-grown diamonds like the ones offered by Grown Brilliance instead. Lab-grown diamonds are chemically, physically, and optically identical to their mined counterparts. Not only will going with a lab-grown diamond give you peace of mind, you can also get more bling for your buck–it’s a win, win!

The 4 C’s

If you’ve been doing any research on engagement rings, you’ve probably caught a few references to the 4 C’s, but what are they and how do they factor into your decision? While the 4 C’s do impact the look of your diamond, they’re more influential in the value/cost of the ring. Depending on how open you and your partner are about the whole engagement discussion, these factors are a little harder to comment on (at least subtly), but let’s get into it, just in case…

Cut

Not to be confused with shape (pear, round, emerald, etc.), “cut determines a diamond’s ability to reflect and refract light.” In other words, the better the cut, the bigger the sparkle. The good news is, there’s no bad cut, there’s only Fair, Good, Very Good, Excellent, and Ideal.

Color

Diamonds can range from completely colorless to light yellow. The closer the diamond is to colorless on the spectrum the rarer it is, making it more expensive.

Clarity

This refers to any “imperfections” in the diamonds, the less imperfections, the more clarity a diamond has. If you do decide to go with a lab-grown diamond the cost for clarity is significantly less than a mined diamond because the growing process naturally produces diamonds with less flaws–yet another reason lab-grown is the way to go!

Carat

Now, we know you’re familiar with this one! Carat measures the size (technically the weight) of the diamond. The higher the carat measurement, the bigger the rock. Not sure what size you’re looking for? On their website, Grown Brilliance has a way to see a live preview of carat size compared to a hand.

With the design your own ring feature on their website, Grown Brilliance allows you to select the stone of your dreams! Each of the 4 C’s has a sliding scale that you or your partner can play with and see how it influences the cost of the ring in real-time. So, you can splurge on the factors that are most important to you and save on the ones that aren’t.

Anatomy Of A Ring

You want to make sure that you’re using the right terms when you’re describing your dream ring…you know, so there isn’t any confusion. Here are some terms you may not know yet and why they’re so important.

Center Stone

This one is pretty obvious, it’s the big stone in the middle. This is the one that you will be talking about when you’re discussing everything from shape to the 4 C’s.

Shank

This is what the industry calls the “band” part of an engagement ring. Shanks come in different shapes and widths and with different levels of embellishments, so really think about the ring as a whole when you’re imagining it.

Prongs

This is what holds your ring in place, and believe it or not, there are multiple options. Some prong types look better on certain shapes. So, once you find a shape you like start looking at the different types of prongs that pair well with that shape.

Gallery & Bridge

This is the elevated part of the ring that holds up the center stone (and surrounding stones). It can be simple or it can be super decorative, it all depends on your personal style.

Know Your Size

While most rings can be resized, it’s obviously ideal to get the size right on the first try, especially if you want a band with stones in it! Thankfully Grown Brilliance has a ton of resources to make the size question a little less daunting. You can check out their ring size guide here which even includes tips for getting someone’s ring size in secret. Or, you can download their printable ring sizer that allows you to measure and select your size on one easy worksheet. Once you know your size, you can conveniently drop it into conversation or tell it to your bestie in case they get asked for intel.

Love Is In Full Bloom At This Wine Country Watercolor Wedding

This Texas couple decided to tie the knot in Napa at a watercolor-hued wedding that will take your breath away. Simone Lennon Events brought the bride and groom’s vision to life with a palette of soft pink, blue, and purple driving the design. The florals by Water Lily Floral Design, are not to be missed- just wait until you see the blooms suspended from overhead above the dance floor! From Rebecca Yale Photography… Sam and Jakub are from Texas, but love Napa so planned a destination wedding weekend that kicked off with a welcome dinner for their family and wedding party at Castello Di Amorosa, followed by a cocktail reception for all of their guests. It was so wonderful to see 100+ people finally being able to gather safely once again! Simone drew inspiration from watercolors and used pink, blue, and purple watercolors throughout the day. Each of the handmade invitations and menus was uniquely hand-painted watercolors and the floral abundance created by Water Lily Floral Design was the perfect tonal match.

The wedding took place the following day at the Estate Yountville and we spent the day exploring both the Villagio and Hotel Yountvile’s properties taking photos in their vineyards. The bride and her bridesmaids got ready wearing Kim Kardashian’s Skims and sipping champagne and the bride’s maid of honor helped her into her gown. The couple had a private first look moment in a secret lawn hidden amongst the vines before being joined by their family and friends for formal photos. Samantha and Jakub put honoring their families at the center of their day and Samantha’s grandfather actually served as the officiant. And Samantha’s cousins served as flower girl and ring bearer. Jakub’s mother sadly passed away last November, but framed photos of her were included at the ceremony and reception so her presence and memory were felt throughout the day. Samantha’s mother has MS and is in a wheelchair, but it didn’t stop her from dancing the night away on the dancefloor with her family.

Guests enjoyed cocktail hour in a courtyard next to the reception tent, sipping on the couple’s two signature drinks—an Aperol Sprtiz for Sam and a Manhattan for Jakub. After cocktail hour, they made their way into the beautiful reception tent, covered in blue/grey drapery to provide some shade on the hot June day. The structure was completely custom built and Water Lily Floral Design suspended huge centerpieces growing out of slabs of wood over the tables as well as an oversized floral chandelier over the dance floor. The couple took a quick peek into their tent and practiced their first dance before the bride kicked off her heels and changed into her sparkly reception dress for their grand entrance. After a year of postponements and distancing, the couple wanted their friends to have the best night of their lives and dance the night away, which they most certainly did! Chris Clouse combined DJ and live instruments and vocals to create an incredibly unique experience that had the dance floor full all night!

Secret Garden Wedding In Santa Ynez Full Of Fall Colors

The lavish color palette of this Santa Ynez wedding is sure to steal your heart. Tyler Speier Events brought our bride’s wedding vision to life in the most beautiful of ways, with crisp autumnal hues and carefully thought out details like “Bridgerton-inspired” music welcoming guests to the festivities. From Dear Lovers… Shaylyn and Gabe were married at Kestrel Park in Santa Ynez, California. They wanted their celebration to focus around their love of family, gourmet food, craft cocktails, and the joy of being with friends. Since Gabe’s family is from Cuba, they wanted to incorporate fun cultural elements as well.

The invitation suite was full of autumnal colors, a custom painting of the couple’s dog, and a detailed itinerary for the weekend getaway in Santa Ynez, complete with a welcome wine tasting, and farm-to-table rehearsal dinner, wedding festivities, and an after-party at a western bar. When guests arrived at the wedding, they were greeted with rosé and champagne served in vintage glassware as the string quartet played “Bridgerton-inspired” music. Their ceremony took place underneath the autumnal branches in the allay at Kestrel Park, with lush autumn florals adorning the large arch and aisle.

Then, guests were invited into the secret garden, for sumptuous appetizers, a charcuterie spread, and signature craft cocktails – a passion-guava Mezcal inspired cocktail entitled “Midnight in the Garden of Good and Evil”, and a New York Sour, a bourbon cocktail with a smoked glass served with red wine. The multi-course dinner reception took place underneath a sailcloth tent in the horse pasture, with lush autumnal flowers, velvet linens, vintage glassware, and a full band. As a nod to Gabe’s Cuban roots, the cake was infused with Guava—a decadent finish to the incredible culinary experience!

An Intimate Wedding at Holman Ranch With the Most Adorable Alternative Entertainment Idea!

From the bride’s effortlessly natural style to the intimate 50-person guest list, there’s so much to love about today’s Holman Ranch wedding planned by Jacqueline Hallgarth – alongside an all-star vendor team. No detail was left unturned throughout the day’s celebrations, ending in a silent-disco style movie lounge featuring a custom edit of their favorite movies, Before Sunrise and Before Sunset. From Rebecca Yale Photography… Annie and Brian were married on July 25, 2021 at Holman Ranch in Carmel in an intimate celebration with just under 50 of their closest friends and family. Like many couples this year, their original wedding was scheduled for 2020 and had to push, but was well worth the wait and they always planned for it to be an intimate celebration! The bride and groom wanted the wedding to be a unique celebration that felt more like a grand dinner party than a wedding and they infused their personalities and significant moments of their relationship throughout the entire day.

The bride’s younger sister (who is only 21!!!) made all of her paper goods including the vintage postcard style save the date that welcomed guests to Carmel and their invite which featured a cartoon drawing of the couple and a CA poppy, which grow wild in the area. Music has played a huge part in the couple’s relationship and they included a Jukebox card in their invites, asking their friends to write in songs that they should play on the wedding night. They used those recommendations to curate a custom playlist for their day along with meaningful songs to them like Hello Stranger by Barbara Lewis, which they listened to on their first date at Tokyo Record Bar in NYC.

The bride bought all of her friends matching getting ready dresses (and pajamas for her bridesman) as well as heart sunglasses for them to wear during the weekend. The bride rocked two pairs of gorgeous kitten heels, lace for the ceremony and a block heel for the dinner and used an egg-shaped pearl purse to stash extra lipstick and other wedding day essentials. She chose to wear her glasses since they felt most like her and wore Jennifer Behr star barrettes in her hair, which matched the whimsical feel fo her “love” wedding band and canary yellow diamond engagement ring. The bride and her sister are incredibly close although they’re over a decade apart and in addition to making all the paper goods, her sister provided final makeup touchups and zipped her up into her dress.

The couple had an emotional private first look in the inner courtyard of Holman Ranch followed by portraits with their friends and family in front of the Hacienda. The couple see their friends as their families and it was truly a family affair! The bride’s best friends daughter served as their adorable flower girl (and she was a total camera ham) and the groom’s baby nephew was their honorary itty bitty ring bearer in his baby suit!

Guests were greeted at the ceremony with parasols, cold welcome drinks, and the couple’s unique guest book, which consisted of a vintage mailbox and postcards featuring exotic locations all over the world. The guests were instructed to pick a postcard for the location they recommend the couple go visit and write them a special note on the back telling them why they should travel there. The bride and groom both chose to walk themselves down the aisle and exchanged personal vows that they wrote for one another in their “his & hers” vow books. Guests threw rose petals at the couple as they made their way back down the aisle and the way Annie looked at Brian in those photos will forever melt my heart!!

Guests enjoyed cocktail hour by the garden of the hacienda, sipping on the couples signature drinks, “Island Vibes” for his, and “It was all a Dream” for hers. After a quick shoe change, the couple made their grand entrance into the hacienda’s main courtyard and had their first dance to the Arctic Monkeys’ Baby I’m Yours. They served farm fresh fare for dinner, which started with an incredible peach salad followed by family style sea bass, filet mignon and grilled vegetables. For dessert they served a lemon curd wedding cake and had a traditional Pittsburgh Cookie Table. Each cookie at the table (plus some cupcakes) were carefully chosen and had significant meaning to their relationship.

Rather than a big dance party, Annie and Brian wanted their wedding to feel like the most fun dinner party ever, so they created a custom edit of their favorite movies, Before Sunrise and Before Sunset, which they played in a movie lounge created by their planner Jacqueline, featuring throw pillows, blankets and rugs, ottomans, and silent-disco style headphones. Popcorn was provided in mini vintage popcorn bags with their cartoon drawing printed on one side and “butter together” printed on the other. Guests spent the night mingling and drinking cocktails and wine under the stars, so grateful to once again be able to gather together safely!

You Need to See This “Coastal Grandmother” Approved Southampton Wedding

Today’s stunning tented wedding in Southampton planned by All Who Wander Event Design is really getting us in the Summer spirit! From the modern color palette of dark green, tan, and neutrals to the organic arrangements by AvaFlora – every detail of Michaela and Michael’s day exuded out-east elegance. From Jaine Kershner Photography… With two reschedules, a venue and date change, and a little bit of luck, they were able to throw one heck of a party. It was a dream team of vendors who helped bring their modern yet romantic vision to life including All Who Wander Events for planning and design, AvaFlora for florals and decor, and Ink and Nibs from their invitations to paper goods.

Their wedding reflects the couple’s personal modern aesthetic and by using a mix of dark green, tan, and neutrals, they were able to completely transform the tented event space at The Seabonack Golf Course in Southampton, NY. On their original wedding date in May, it snowed so imagine how excited they were to have 80-degree weather in October just a few months later. Everything works out for a reason!

Michaela and Michael opted to forgo the traditional bridal party and decided to renew their vows before Sunset. They held a small micro wedding the year before so they were very excited to have their bigger celebration with all of their closest family and friends actually happen. Yay!

More from the Bride… This wedding was incredibly special to us, for so many reasons! After postponing and re-postponing due to Covid, it felt almost surreal to wake up on the morning of the wedding and realize the day had finally arrived.

We are so grateful that we had a small, family-only ceremony in 2020 during the height of Covid, and will always cherish that intimate day when we were officially married. But, we had been looking forward to this larger celebration for a long time, so being able to have all of our friends, family, and loved ones together after almost two years was truly a blessing.

We wanted our guests to feel like they were a part of the day, and our story, so we showed a video from our 2020 ceremony before moving into our vow renewal. The vow renewal ceremony was a beautiful reminder of why we gathered that day – even though we were already married – and how grateful we were to our loved ones for being there with us to celebrate.

After the vow renewal, it was time to hit the dance floor! Mike and I met for the first time at Cafe Wha, and I knew that having the Cafe Wha band play at our wedding was a must. Hearing the band kick off and watching all of our guests pour into the tent was an emotional moment for me – it was really what we had been waiting for! We just wanted everyone to let loose, dance, and enjoy each others’ company after so many months of isolation, and it was so amazing to see the night come to life as the party started.

The day was more perfect than I could have imagined. The weather was gorgeous, and our vendors nailed every single detail. I wanted the wedding to feel like a big, family dinner party – laid-back but elegant, cozy but charming – and that’s exactly how it came together. I feel so lucky to have worked with the best vendors, and that the day was calm, no-stress and so much fun! The best part was, we were able to have our four-month-old daughter there. A beautiful blessing during uncertain times, this is a day we will be telling her about for years to come!

Dog Lovers Will Adore This Fall Wedding In Minneapolis

This couple filled their special day with love, not just for each other but also for their Yorkie, Bun B! This Love Weddings helped the bride and groom plan a day filled with special touches, like a cocktail bar sign featuring an illustration of their precious pup and of course photos with Bun B in a tux. Studio Fleurette filled the day with wildly romantic flowers, and Amanda Nippoldt Photography beautifully captured the love of the day in her artful imagery. From This Love Weddings… Sammy and Andy’s special day focused on celebrating not only their love but also their loved ones. Both families truly know how to throw a party!

Sammy being a talented photographer (and singer) in the Twin Cities, her brother an award-winning DJ (and officiant of the day), and her uncle’s band flying in from California the guests stayed on the dance floor throughout the evening.

From Jennifer Nolan Photography… This romantic editorial shoot at 4U Ranch in Peoa, Utah, was organic, colorful, and refined. The beautiful fall colors surrounding us were the perfect backdrop for this shoot.

The invitation suite from Ink & Press Co. and beautiful styling and floral design by Rachel Ellen Events were selected with a refined and elegant aesthetic in mind. The bride’s dress was from Eisen Stein Bridal and featured feminine touches such as delicate lace and beaded tulle. The ceremony featured lush florals, organic details, and an elegant tablescape.

This all blended into the natural scenic elements of this shoot. Delicate florals were arranged along the table and throughout the aspects of the day.

A Perfectly Spring Pastel Floral Filled Wedding

These college sweethearts had a wedding just as sweet as their love. The two decided to get married at Osage House nearby the college where they met. They turned to Natasha Gates to bring their big day dreams to life, and the result is absolutely breathtaking. Florals by Silks a Bloom, from a free-flowing bridal bouquet to a bevy of beautiful blooms suspended overhead on the dance floor, fill the day with whimsy and fun. From Erin Wilson Photography and Films… Davis and Tyler are the two sweetest humans you will ever meet. Davis and Tyler met in college and are quite the little college sweetheart pair. They recently graduated and are starting their careers and lives together.

For their wedding day, they chose a location near their college that was a great local meeting place for all their families to meet in the middle. They radiate sunshine and their wedding was nothing less than that.

Their wedding day was filled with laughter, an abundance of gorgeous flowers, a soft pastel color palette, textures and patterns, mocktails, beautiful toasts, and the prettiest floral installations. Their wedding venue was a fun juxtaposition of a modern blank canvas with soft florals, colors, and a mixture of patterns.

A celebration of love and heritage, Patina & Sean’s wedding weekend at The Ivy Rose Barn is one you’re going to remember! From Nicole Colwell Photography… Patina & Sean’s wedding weekend was one for the books. Patina knew The Ivy Rose Barn was the perfect location for her and Sean’s dream wedding even before it was built. Patina & Sean joked often about how their families were nervous with choosing a location before it had walls but Patina had the perfect vision which resulted in one of the most beautiful weddings we were able to help design & plan.

Patina & Sean had three events in one wedding weekend. The couple chose the Greenhouse for their Indian Ceremony that was followed with a brunch. Patina was very clear that she did not want the typical red & gold look that you see in a traditional Indian ceremony. Instead she chose the beautiful palette of blush and sage green which was stunning. The couple, family & friends returned that evening for their Rehearsal Dinner inside the Greenhouse. We kept the Indian ceremony color palette and elements for the table designs. A picnic style head table for the bridal party which included a mix of boho and traditional elements adorned with beautiful florals by Wild Fleurette was the most dreamy setting.

The next day the couple had their Christian Ceremony at the barn. The couple chose to say their vows with the Blue Ridge Mountains as their setting. Cocktail hour was located in front of the barn and the guests dined inside the barn.

Boho florals, a soft neutral palette and we can’t forget out the honey favors directly from Ivy Rose Farms. This wedding weekend is filled with jaw dropping details that you will love.

Our 20 Favorite Wedding Dress Trends From Barcelona Bridal Fashion Week 2022

Barcelona Bridal Fashion Week is all the glitz and glamour we love about the fashionable side of weddings. We all know the dress is the one of the major centerpieces of a wedding — often times defining the wholistic wedding aesthetic alone — so it’s no surprise that we can never get enough of any and all wedding dress inspo. Getting to see the dresses live and in person sashay-ing their way down the runway will always be one of our favorite things to witness!

This year’s selection of gowns were nothing short of jaw-droppingly gorgeous. Designers like Isabel Sanchis, Yolancris, Viktor & Rolf, Nicole Milano, Rosa Clara, and of course, Pronovias were present and dominating the runway with incredible gowns and bridal accessories we can’t wait to see make their way through our submissions portal in the months to come. There were a few clear trends that we saw make their way down the runway, and whether you have a designer budget or are a thrifty bride-to-be looking to make couture choices, these are trends you can easily apply to your big day.

1. Statement-Making Sleeves

Sleeves of all shapes and sizes are having a serious moment. We’ve said it once and we’ll say it again, we can’t get over this trend and we hope it’s here to stay many, many years. This year we saw everything from a delicate cap sleeve, to an emphasized shoulder all the way to a ballooned cuffed sleeve. The poofed shoulder is currently one of our favorites — it’s universally flattering and always photographs well.

2. Capes

The cape trend has been a long-time coming and now that it’s here and in full use we just can’t get enough of it. From satin to three dimension design details, a cape can come in all forms and sizes. One of our favorite things about this fashionable choice is that it applies all the etheral beauty of a veil without having to make hair decisions based on it. Additionally, if you’re a bride looking for a reception look that’s different from the ceremony look, a cape can transform your dress without completely starting from scratch.

3. Regency Style

It should come as a surprise to no-one that once again we note how much the Bridgerton aesthetic has made it’s way into the wedding sphere. Empire wastes, delicate cap sleeves and squared necklines all reminiscent of Daphne Bridgerton’s own wedding dress walked the runway this year and with the promise of more seasons to come we don’t see this influence going anywhere anytime soon.

4. Gloves or Detached Sleeve

When looking to accessorize your bridal look, why not consider a glove? They’re about as classic and elegant as it gets, and there were several moments on the runway where the sleek glove attached to a structured dress created a wildly modern and elegant ensemble we couldn’t get enough of. Akin to the glove is the detached sleeve — the major difference here being that the detached sleeve is inherently part of the dress (many times its the same lace as the dress) so it is simply an extension of the whole bridal look.

5. Three-Dimensional Details + Appliqué

Whether it was a bit of embroidery, dimensional lace or even an array of pearls, 3D elements were all over the stage this year. The addition of these elements instantly elevates your dress — dimensional elements often allude to a human touch in the creation of the dress and that almost always translates to couture because of how much intentionality it requires. This is one of our favorite trends this year and we can’t wait to see it continue (especially pearls, please give us all the pearls!)

6. Short Wedding Dresses

With the increase in micro-weddings, at-home ceremonies and elopements it’s no surprise that there’s a surge of short dress popularity. These ultra-bridal options do everything from pairing high and low elements (to still include a train, duh) to being a modern, tailored interpretation of a bridal look that’s perfect for a courthouse. Even if you’re not intending to elope, these dresses also function really well as reception dresses or for your getaway car look.

7. Plunging Necklines

Necklines are some of the most indicative elements of change when you look at making fashion forward decisions. There are three necklines that stood out to us this year — the dominant one being a gorgeous plunge neckline. Tastefully done, this can take a dress from ultra-traditional to completely chic and we are totally in love with it. Our favorite combination is a plunged neckline paired with a long sleeve and flowing skirt.

8. Ruffles

Whether it’s a pretty satin fold or layers of tulle, tiered skirts had a very impactful moment on stage this year. Similar to the idea of having a dimensional dress, this particular style takes a full skirt and ads a little zest to it. If you’re looking for a fun interpretation of traditional style, this is definitely up your alley.

9. Nude Illusion

The nude illusion comes in all shapes and sizes. From a fully illusioned silhouette with only a hint of lace, to a bodice peppered with three dimensional details over a nude base, this style lends itself beautifully to anything from a tropically based wedding to a sultry reception look.

10. Square Neck

Another neckline that is making some designer headway is the squared neckline — yes, all you 90’s babies, you read that correctly, the square neck is back. While it’s been sneaking it’s way back into our daily lives for some time now, the structured nature of it translated to bridal almost immediately appeals to “the girls that get it.”

11. Mermaid Silhouette

This silhouette holds a near and dear spot in our hearts. It’s just FUN and is rarely seen outside of the bridal or red carpet sphere, so we love to see it come down a runway. The form-fitting top is indicative of the traditional elements of bridal fashion while the full ankle skirt can be done in an array of materials that hits to the fun that is to be had at a reception.

12. Bridal Jumpsuits

The Bridal Jumpsuit has been making headway for quite sometime, but this year’s interpretation of the look was quite simply, lovely. Our favorite combo is structured jumpsuit paired with a flowing cape — the duality allows for a bit of flowing fun paired with a modern aesthetic and that kind of combo is one we can always get behind.

13. Grecian Inspired

Nothing flows quite like a Grecian-Inspired dress. Even when the trends are heralding from the opposite side of the world, you can almost always find a few nods to the Greco-Roman twist and flow in dress design because truly nothing makes you feel more like a queen than billowing drapes of fabric flowing behind you, so we were pleased to see the look make a strong appearance on this year’s Barcelona Stage.

14. Bold Bows

The back bow was STRONG this year, and we can’t get enough of it. Whether it was a structured straight bow or a loose gathering of fabric, the bows this year were a dominating force and a fun surprise to see walk by. A bow in the back can take a very cookie-cutter traditional style dress and make it pop instantly.

15. Two-Piece Bridal Sets

As everyday sets become more and more popular, it comes as no surprise that the translation to a two-piece bridal look is equally as chic. This is another design choice that can take a standard, traditional gown style and make it wildly current. We mostly saw sets with full skirts, but you can really get creative here on how you’d interpret this look in your own day.

16. Full Ballgown

Similar to regency style, the full ballgown is having an oh-so-queenly moment. For the brides to be out there that have always dreamed of being a princess on this day, you are in luck because these gowns come in all shapes and sizes and sleeve configurations. If you want over-the-top glamour, you’re in the right place with a full ballgown look.

17. Mock-Neck

The last neckline to note in this year’s review is quite the shock for anyone who’s a religious Say Yes to The Dress connoisseur and remembers the poor bride who INSISTED on a mock-neck dress and had to move hell and high water to find one — well, apparently she was just ahead of her time because the mock-neck dress is HERE. There are several different options to pull from just from this year’s Barcelona spread.

18. Flower Motifs

Flowers and weddings go hand-in-hand, but this year especially we’re seeing a step further than simply including flowery shapes insinuated in lace design, but rather full flower cut-outs in distinct shapes like daisies or tulips and often paired with dimensional floral elements as well. But our absolute favorite place to see flowers included in this year is the veil. Three dimensional flowers peppered in a long-glowing veil (or cape!) make our hearts sing.

19. Cutouts

Taking a nod from runway and red-carpet fashion, the cut-out interpretation in bridal gowns is nothing short of chic. Our favorite is a subtle peek-a-boo detail with a sandy-shore backdrop of a venue, and the mood boards are already developing. Can you say Tulum wedding, anyone?

20. Tea-Length

Similar to the short dress, a tea-length dress is a wildly chic way to incorporate bridal style in smaller settings. A tea-length dress in a full-skirt bridal silhouette feels so ultra chic and, for the shoe-loving bride, is a way to give your chosen wedding day pair room to shine.

Spring Garden Vibes Were Abloom at This Deering Estate Wedding!

This waterfront wedding in the heat of Miami’s Deering Estate will sweep you off your feet. Talia & Ricky’s affair was blooming with love and florals – from the bride’s stunning Monique Lhuillier gown to the cream-forward floral arrangements by Xefla. We love a good al fresco reception moment, and the couple’s butterfly-accented place settings are every whimsical bride’s dream. From Bonphotage… Talia and Ricky had the wedding of their dreams on Miami’s waterfront at the beautiful Deering Estate. Garden vibes were the theme of the day from the al fresco reception dinner to the bride’s stunning floral Monique Lhullier couture gown.

The color palette softly played off tones of Spring and the historical architecture of the estate tones. The French chairs perfectly fit with the delicate butterfly place settings and subtly textured linens, the most natural pieces held the guest tables together while the pops of yellow and hint of Spring color came through in the florals.

The draping tea lights created a romantic atmosphere for the beautiful couple. The backdrop of the ocean and Palm trees in view was the perfect spot for an outdoor ceremony filled with happy tears and joy surrounding the wedding day.

Simply Stunning Wedding Celebration On Lake Como

Nestled in the Italian Alps, Lake Como has long been considered one of the most glamorous travel destinations, so naturally, it’s the perfect spot for a simply stunning wedding celebration! Playing off the beautiful views of the mountains and water, Weddingbox Lake Como coordinated a day that highlighted the beauty of the location. From Duet Friday… Villa Cipressi fit like a glove for the couple’s sweet ceremony as it reflects their love. The first time they visited Varenna was in 2018 and it was love at first sight just as it was between them: amazing view of the mountains and the lake! Breathless reflection of the water which reflects in the details of the villa, both in the color scheme and in the flow of the staircases, which run to embrace the lake.

Josette and Tamim both love Italy and Italian cuisine and wanted to share an amazing dinner with a beautiful view with their nearest and dearest – the closest family and friends. Villa Cipressi offers the top – the most beautiful view, food, and service so it was an easy choice! And this approach is seen in everything. Classy and stylish and at the same time simple. The most difficult choice is when you need to mix without destroying the charm. A subtle taste that helps you enjoy and leave an everlasting aftertaste may be like a reminder of the after-party which helped them meet.

Wedding celebrant Fabio from Como lake celebrant conducted the choir and helped the bride and the groom follow their solos in order to unite them in a duet that will last for ages. A fairy tale? No. A true to life story which you can now admire is told by a talented narrator – a skillful duet of photographers, really called Duet Friday, whose female participant is quite close to the role of the godmother who shows the characters – the bride and the groom their sparkling spirit and beauty through fantastic shots and lovely moments that from now will remain with the bride and the groom as the symbol of a new start and a source of inspiration.

Serena & Lily Inspired Tent Wedding In Chicago

Stylish, romantic, and oh-so-beautiful, Brady and Paige’s wedding is filled with effortless elegance. The Creative Planners brought the bride’s Serena and Lily inspired vision to life in a palette of French blue and white. Floral design by Avant Gardenia is endlessly romantic, just take one look at the greenery-laden lanterns suspended over the dance floor! From Olivia Leigh Photographie… I wanted to submit a beautiful tent wedding in the north shore of Chicago. This couple was so gorgeous and kind, and they held the most beautiful wedding, with a ceremony at the same church her parents had been married in decades prior, followed by a tent reception at the family club. When my second photographer walked in, she said it looked just like Serena & Lily, and we later found out that was one of the bride’s style inspirations! She totally nailed it and it looked so gorgeous with beautiful shades of French blue and white. Additionally, she looked incredibly chic in a relaxed spaghetti strap dress and her hair down.

From the bride… After a united decision to change our wedding date from 2020 to 2021, the ideas started to grow and evolve. The main inspiration for our wedding was a “Last Summer Bash” since our wedding was the Saturday before Fall 2021 began. It was important to us to include our families in the wedding along with childhood and lifelong friends. There were so many small details about the day we incorporated intentionally. To name a couple, the church Brady and Paige were wed, Deerfield First Presbyterian, was also where Paige’s parents were married almost 34 years ago. Paige’s bouquet was created to look like her mother’s as well. The invitations were watercolor and included in the design was the location where Brady proposed to Paige back in 2019.

We wanted our reception space to be chic, classic, airy, and timeless. We created our “calling card” board and each keychain by hand, together, in our kitchen. It took months to complete but it was so worth it to see it come together. We also wanted to represent our beloved pup, Ivy, by hanging different types of ivy greens from the lanterns and incorporating them in the arrangements on the table. The entire day was what we had always dreamed of. We experienced a small piece of heaven that day, surrounded by our most cherished family and friends.

A Colorful California Winter Wedding With Chic Details

We can’t help but crush on this winter wedding in California. Filled with a chic color palette of cabernet, blush, ivory, caramel, and brown hues, Madix & Co designed the dreamiest of days. Our brides’ Big Day vision was brought to life with the help of Amanda Vidmar who used blooms in unexpected ways, like a ceremony aisle lined with fragrant gardenias filling the space with a sweet scent. From Emily and Emily… We owe a fateful night of karaoke for leading us to the altar 8 years later. As Juniors at Northwestern University, we both attended a fraternity bar night at Lincoln Karaoke in Chicago. Emily Ryles saw Emily Bacalao from across the bar and was immediately smitten. We started talking on the bus ride home and essentially have been dating ever since.

The most anticipated moment for both of us was our first look. One of the biggest challenges during planning was keeping our dresses secret from one another and were both blown away by each other’s final looks. However, the moment we both hold closest to our hearts is walking down the aisle and the ceremony. We walked into the ceremony space and were overcome by the joy we felt from having everyone we love in the same room. Our best friend married us and created an incredible ceremony that he completely memorized. We also owe a huge thank you to our florist, who transformed the space with a beautiful arch and spread gardenias throughout to create a subtle but enchanting aroma. Walking into dinner was also a special moment. Everything from the tablescapes to the energy in the room was unforgettable.

From Madix & Co… For Emily and Emily’s January 1st wedding at Martin Ray Winery, I designed a palette of cabernet, blush, ivory, caramel, and brown hues for a warm winter aesthetic. Keeping the formality of New Years’ weekend without a new years theme, we opted for upholstered chairs, velvet linens, gold and black accents, and ample twinkle light. Amanda Vidmar Design pulled everything together with abundant and romantic florals. Our brides looked absolutely stunning in their gowns, each highlighting their personality and style but perfectly cohesive. One of my favorite elements was the gardenias lining the aisle providing a beautiful aroma as guests arrived.

A Casual Luxe And Modern Romantic Affair On The Chesapeake Bay

Just take one look at the cloud of baby’s breath over the dance floor of this wedding and you’ll see why we’ve fallen in love! With a minimal chic aesthetic, Rachel Kendall Events created a crisp green and white event filled with style. You’ll adore the floral design by Wander + Whimsy, and be head over heels for every image artfully taken by Megan Harris Photography. Don’t miss a single swoon-worthy shot in the full gallery.

From Megan Harris Photography… When I first got on the phone with Jessica she had just gotten engaged 2 weeks prior with Ryan taking her to Montreal as a surprise “engagement moon”. It was an absolutely perfect trip since Jessica describes herself as a huge Francophile. When she talked about her perfect wedding to me she mentioned a minimal, chic, and fun event for them to celebrate their love with all their closest family and friends, but it must end with fireworks! When creating their inspiration packet to kick off the planning process, the words used at the top were “Casual Luxe, Romantic, Minimal Modern, Greenery”, and I think the final result was just that!

The color palette was to be neutrals, greenery, black, and mixed metals. The ceremony overlooked the Chesapeake Bay with a minimal yet modern floral design for the “altar”, the perfect place for these two to say their “I dos”. Moving on to the cocktail hour, the guests were able to enjoy drinks and hors d’oeuvre on the lawn while admiring Great Oak Manor and the waterfront view. As we headed into the perfectly designed tent, the couple shared their first dance and poured the top glass of a champagne tower to really kicked off the evening!

Everything from the elegant tablescape design, decor elements, baby’s breath floral cloud over the dance floor, and more created a perfect aesthetic for their wedding day. And of course, the evening ended with an epic fireworks show for everyone to enjoy over the Chesapeake Bay!

A Modern Romance at Hammersky Vineyards Blanketed by Autumnal Hues

These boots were made for walkin’ down the aisle! This bride’s look was the definition of modern romance with a daring plunging neckline and a bold accessory choice – white ankle booties! Clare & Alex’s autumn affair, designed by Embark Event Design at HammerSky Vineyards was just as distinctive as the bride’s style. Highlights of this special day included iconic views, a local wine selection, and blooming floral baskets by Precious and Blooming Floral Design. From Natalie Bray Studios… Clare and Alex chose Hammersky Vineyards for the delightful charm and stunning views, and Sarah at Embark Event Design transformed the space into a chic and romantic outdoor celebration. Beautiful deep reds and soft pinks set the tone for this the late Autumn celebration featuring fresh florals, incredible views & an intimate dining space.

Clare & Alex’s ceremony was under a stunning Oak tree overlooking the vineyard at sunset. Clare and Alex exchanged personal vows surrounded by their friends and family & there wasn’t a dry eye as they took special care to honor each of their loved ones, near or far. Just after “I DO” the sun was just stunning, so we went right into enjoying the view and the fact that they were married, just the two of them. To say is was incredible to witness is an understatement. The joy was palpable and such an honor to document. Highly recommend taking a moment for yourselves right after your ceremony.

Baskets of blooms adorned each space as guests walked the vineyard over to cocktail hour to enjoy local wine, followed by a family style dinner at long dining tables to create an intimate & romantic dinner setting. Clare’s look was modern, romance & bold. Her confidence was so pure & beautiful, and as she stepped out of the farmhouse to walk down the aisle alongside her loving brothers there was not a dry eye! Her look was finished off with modern white boots – the perfect personal touch to her stunning bridal look!
