From Anne Blodgett PhotographySuper excited to share this backyard Oregon wedding with you! Denay and Hank’s wedding, which was at their own home, was all about the DIY. The bride and her mom literally made just about everything – the bridesmaid’s dresses, groomsmen’s suits, flower girl dress, invitations, the cheesecake/ cupcakes, and the BBQ dinner. The groom even made the ceremony arch out of old barn wood and rusted tin roofing. The decor that wasn’t crafted was either antiqued or handpicked by the bride. And the florals? I’m in love, and I hope you are, too.

From The Bride…The vision for our wedding was rustic meets vintage with touches of elegance. Our goal was to hand-make the decor with things that were readily available, or pick up at antique shops throughout Oregon. Some of my favorite handmade items include all of the bridal party attire (except the Bride and groom). The groomsmen were in a light grey vest and slacks, which were made by my mother, Denise Martin. The bridesmaids were in a salmon strapless dress with rosette skirt, also made by my mom. The ring bearer/flower girl attire was handmade by Denise as well. Also my husband and I had a lot of fun making the wood guest signing slab. It came from logging job in Oregon. We planed and sanded the slab down ourselves and added bar topcoat to give its shine.

Also, we tore old pallets apart to make the “old wood flooring” affect to some of the centerpieces. To save money I hand cut and painted the chevron letters on tables. Also all of the burlap and lace runners with put together by Denise Martin. Lastly my Husband Hank Mast hand built the wedding arch from old barn wood that we found from a local barn that had been pieced apart a few miles from our home. The tin he used we found on our property. Some extra special touches that made the day even more special were the ruby earrings that were given to me by my grandmother and originated as a wedding gift in 1910 to my great, great, great grandmother. I wore them in honor of her. Also the pearl ring that was given to me from my husband as a wedding gift. It has been in his family for many years.

I had the vision for this wedding but it could not have come together like it did without the help of day coordinating and florals by Andrew Calvert of The Perfect Occasion.

From Betsy Blue PhotographyRick & Claire’s afternoon tea wedding was delicate, personal and an astonishingly beautiful affair. These two sweet doctors’ love for each other is so genuine and palpable…everything they do together is done well, and with so much love & care. There were so many details about this wedding that made it personal to the couple…from handwritten notes to each other to be read on their 5th anniversary…to the significant tea pots which were hand-picked and lovingly planted with flowers & tended by the bride’s mother…cufflink gifts for the groom that the bride had handmade with coordinates of both the place they first met (on one) and of the wedding venue (on the other)…a surprise song for the Bride written and recorded by the Groom for the happy couple to dance to…to the bride’s bracelet which was handed down to her from her great grandmother, and which her own mother wore on her wedding day as well. So many more details created in love, and beautifully sewn into this lovely wedding day.

Oregon Coast Pacific Wonderland Inspiration at Hobbit Trail in Yachats, OR

I had the pleasure of visiting Oregon for my very first time last year, and I must admit, it left quite an impression. It’s one seriously stunning state, so I am not surprised that it has a tendency to inspire shoots like this beauty from Cat Dossett Of I Take PhotosEvent Crush and Anastasia Floral Design, LLC. It’s woodland whimsy meets rugged coastline, and the result is breathtaking.

From Anastasia Floral Design, LLCOne of the best trivia tidbits about Oregon is that the entire coastline is public land. As it turns out, parts of it are pretty magical. Cat chose our location and set the direction for this shoot to be inspired by it. The Hobbit Trail is a little off the beaten path, but all the locals know where to find it. Winding through the lush coastal rainforest, the short trail leads you through a literal tunnel of trees and lets out onto an isolated little stretch of beach that’s home to all sorts of caves ready to be explored. It’s just a really quintessential image of Oregon.

Playing off that, we set our palette as teal and red to stand out from all the foliage and brought in some shiny gold and glittery bits too. We turned the forest into a cathedral for our couple with big dramatic swaths of fabric. The spring flowers were inspired by the forest ferns and featured Japanese ranunculus along with some locally sourced treats like the anemones, columbine, and roses. Cat is pretty much the queen of DIY–she actually made the incredible dress our model rocked all day and rigged the suspended pallet table for our sweethearts. Becky of Event Crush styled the day to perfection and tied everything together.

It wouldn’t be very Oregon without a little rain, and one of my favorite things is that you can see the droplets on some of our details. I hope you all enjoy checking it out as much as I enjoyed bringing it to life!

From Cat Dossett of I Take Photos…From my first visit that I had at Hobbit Beach, I knew that I wanted to make something magical to fit the location. The soft, draping moss and twisted branches, hiding the shoreline created a romantic escape. I wanted the bride to evoke a waterfall in the woods, mimicking the hanging tree branches and made her dress to flow like water and catch the beach breeze like a sail. It was amazing how quickly and easily things seem to come together with the people that I worked with. Anastasia created elegant arrangements and Becky brought the vision to life in a way I didn’t think possible. Every part of the team did such incredible work; even my models who stuck through the cold rain and wind.

Colorful Wedding Cake Inspiration

I’ve always been one to stay in the “keep it classic” camp when it came to wedding cakes. But that, m’dears, was before I laid eyes on Dreamin Desserts’ work-of-art confections that changed my mind in three seconds flat. From bold designs to rich colors, they’re the kind of cakes that could steal the show, and in case you want more (of course you do!) Marina Koslow snapped a whole gallery right here.

From Tracy of Dreamin Desserts… To take you on the journey of my sweet beginning, we need to travel to Zurich Switzerland where I worked as a dental hygienist. There I enjoyed travel and what Europe had to offer in the sweet world, but American desserts brought me closer to home. After baking for friends in Zurich, I wanted to take my hobby into a profession, which lead me back to my hometown Bend Oregon and to the International School of Baking, owned by world renowned Chef Marda Stoliar.

I returned to Zurich after my training with Marda and opened Sugars, an American bakery where I wholesaled American Cheesecakes, wedding, birthday cakes and cupcakes thru out Switzerland. After 13 years in Zurich, I felt that it was time to come home back to Bend working as a dental hygienist part-time and a pastry assistant at the International School of Baking to further my craft and assist students following their baking dreams. I now want to take that passion of desserts and make wedding dreams come true.

DIY Oregon Mountain Wedding

For a bride with a passion for the forest, a woodsy style wedding was a total no-brainer. Along with her fiance and family, she DIYed the details big and small, and Jamie Zanotti Photography captured each and every bit. Click here for the full gallery of wedding goodness.

From the Bride… I have always loved the combination of woodsy and high glamour. My true passion is in the forest! With the woodsy smells, mossy feel, moist clean air, and vivid green foliage… With being a hair stylist and working with brides myself, I knew I really wanted something personal and special to me. I wanted to share my passion for the woods with my guests. I would not have guessed it would have turned out so perfect and seamless.

We did almost everything from scratch, from excavating and terracing our 3rd generation family mountain property just inland of Bandon, Oregon, to building homemade arbors, to hand crafting and welding a bonfire pit with s’mores, and more. We were surrounded by willow trees, and tons and tons of strung lights, and we were even joined by my Arabian mare, Bella.

Our wedding was a testament to shared artistry and hard work–lots of it! It was very intimate, personal, emotional, and tons of fun!! My man of honor was my twin brother which was also very special to me. It was truly an incredible, magical, and enchanted evening that I will never forget.

DIY details:
– Woodland tree arbor: crafted from old fallen trees, jute twine, ferns, and mossy branches all wrapped together with floral wire and four off white sheer curtain panels stapled onto back
– Ceremony back drop: curly willow tree adorned with a garland made of torn sheets, peach lace, burlap, and paper flower garlands
– Dancefloor: made of pallets and plywood, with a few coats of brown paint plus an inexpensive gazebo without the material covering and string lights bolted to the dance floor
– Dining area: 300′ bulb lights used with self cut pole trees and twine to create a star pattern dining area
– Flower pedestals: stumps cut from fallen logs on property
– Floral arrangements: handmade by friends and family, tucked into old mason jars

Rustic Bed and Breakfast Wedding At Mt. Hood

As far as homecoming weddings go, this might take the cake (or pie). This couple returned home to Oregon for a stunning ceremony at the base of Mt. Hood, and with the help of planner Betheny Roberts, blooms from Lucy’s Informal Flowers and plenty of sunshine, every detail absolutely glowed. There’s a full gallery of loveliness from Hannah D Photography. And don’t miss the video from Larvick Media at the end!

[iframe http://player.vimeo.com/video/81342064 600 338]

From the Bride… Place has always been important to my husband and I. We grew up down the street from one another, while college flung us to disparate corners of the country. Returning home to the northwest for careers was important, because despite the saying of home being where the heart is, being in the place you actually belong is paramount. It’s a feeling that runs from your brain, to your heart, and down your feet into the ground. And so, when after 10 years of magical courtship, it came time to get married, we knew place was most important. We wanted that grounding feeling to be present when we said ‘I do’ and when our guests wiped tears. Doing that at the base of Mt. Hood, surrounded by trees, flowers, sun, and loved ones, created a magic that escapes words, but is universally known by anyone in love. Since our guests were coming from all over the country to celebrate with us, we wanted everything to be casual and feel natural – not just look it. From the venue – Mt. Hood B&B – with it’s fields, barns, and farmhouse, to the wood-fired pizza and hand-baked pie for dinner, everything was about family, friends, and love. Looking back on the day, we fretted endlessly about rain and details. We couldn’t control the former (it ended up being about 90 degrees and full of sun), but the latter was marked by a year’s worth of evenings and weekends of friends, family, and loving toil. Some of our guests may have been oblivious, but many of those we love – we hope – looked lovingly at the custom wooden centerpieces, the hand-sewn napkins, the carefully collected milk and mercury glass, and even the hand selected music playlist. We still watch our wedding video and flip through the photos from time to time and it’s always the pictures of tears, laughs, smiles, and dancing that stop us and bring back the flood of love that got us to the altar in the first place.

Bohemian

From Terra Rothman PhotographyLaura and Mark had an intimate, bohemian beach wedding. They were married in the company of their best friends on Short Sands beach, just north of Manzanita in Oswald State Park. They had a lovely ceremony with just eight attendees, followed by a day of games, food and laughter under the rare Oregon sunshine. There are no vendor credits for this wedding, because it was completely DIY.

Classic Country Club Wedding

The Waverley Country Club just might be my new favorite venue.  It’s the perfect mix of classic and stunning, with dashes of downright elegance thrown it at every corner.  In other words?  It’s pure wedding heaven.  And when you add in a duo as charming as these two sweeties, lush blooms from Rosemary Stafford Floral Design and a gallery full of pretty from Marina Koslow, well… awesome.

From the Bride… After meeting in middle school at the age of 12, we ran into each other shortly after graduating college and returning back to Portland. It was a warm summer night and after several asks, I gave Alex my number to call me for a date. One fantastic dinner date and nearly four years later we flash forward to our engagement. We had just bought a mid-century modern style home together that perfectly reflected our collective personalities and life was good. Things got even better when Alex popped the question in November of 2012! Shortly after our engagement, we were both given job opportunities in San Francisco and decided to pack up and head South. With this big change in mind, we chose a wedding date of May 31, 2014 to give us time to settle in to SF and plan from afar. We chose the Waverley Country Club after viewing quite a few other venues around Portland. Many of them were a similar type of venue, but none of them offered the charm and elegance of Waverley. After one walk through, we decided it was the place for us and started dreaming up our special day. Luckily for us, many of the colors that are existing in the decor and even the landscaping were aligned with our color palette for the wedding. To be honest, with our hectic schedules and not seeing the venue more than a couple of times while living in SF, we heavily relied on the wedding decor we brought in just enhancing the gorgeous style that Waverely already exuded. We brightened things up with white and ivory, but loved the existing moss, peachy coral and gold scheme that was already there for us to play with. One of the most important pieces that we did create and bring in for the wedding was the chuppah. My dad made it by hand from sourced birch and my mom chose the lace. We felt that this was a very special way for us to incorporate my parents in the Jewish aspect of our wedding that they wouldn’t have otherwise been involved. The day was absolutely perfect and reinforced all of the love ans support that we’ve been feeling from our family and friends over the last five years.

Whimsical Wedding Cake Inspiration

I seriously started salivating making this post. There are a lot of cakes, and yes, all cakes look delicious. But this is sugar-confected art here, folks. The people at Country Cake Shop in Salem, Oregon are masters of all trades too. Not only did they bake the cakes you see here, but they produced this whole shoot as well. So keep scrolling or head on over to the gallery for more fine-looking, fondant-focused inspiration.

From Country Cake ShopThese cakes were inspired by all the fir trees, bark and berries in the forests surrounding the Willamette Valley. Adding a little bit of sparkle and glamour that every girls loves, really brought these cakes to life. Each cake has gold tying them all together, whether it be the painted gold chevrons, gold leaf flecks or an entire tier wrapped in delicate gold leaf. Even the blackberries are handmade with sugar to resemble the Oregon blackberries that you find peaking around every corner and entwined on every fence.

Ethereal Inspiration Shoot At Lan Su Garden

Everything I see from Portland has this ethereal vibe to it, and this shoot at the Lan Su Chinese Garden is certainly locked in rhythm. Every element is breathtaking from the braided updo by Cassandra Kennedy Beauty, to the crisp flowers from The Green Dandelion. Food in Bloom even provided a recipe for the a cool Cucumber Saketinis below. So whip one up, and see all Corinne Krogh Photography‘s pictures here.

From Corinne Krogh Photography  The beautiful setting of the Lan Su Chinese Garden in downtown Portland, was the inspiration for this bridal shoot. Instead of focusing on the cultural elements of the garden (which are all fantastic, educational, and beautiful), we decided to show how a specialized venue could be used for something other than it’s main focus. The garden did not disappoint! Here in the rainy Pacific Northwest it’s important to choose a venue with a back up plan for bad weather, and with a large percentage of the garden being covered it was an easy choice. The dark rock, layers of texture, water features, and the hand laid mosaic pebble floor all made for amazing backdrops around the property. Since the artisans that created the garden put such care and attention into the details, we really didn’t have to add anything to make it beautiful. Lea, who will be getting married later this year, wore two dresses as inspiration. She chose a the beautiful Ortensia gown from BHLDN with an intricately designed back and flowing skirt. The other dress was a stunner from a local designer, Holly Stalder, who is well known for her gorgeous gowns. Our hair and makeup artist, Cassandra Kennedy, created a loose updo that could be changed quickly to include two looks for the different gowns, and we went with a more dramatic look with the makeup to match the tones of the garden. To tie it all together we brought in stunning florals by The Green Dandelion who played off the neutral tones and added a few pops of color in a unique arrangement. For a signature drink, Food in Bloom shared the recipe for a delicious Cucumber Sakini, a popular drink at the venue for summer weddings. Everything came together beautifully, a perfect evening of celebration in an oasis, tucked away in the middle of the bustling city.

Cucumber Saketinis

Makes 2 drinks

Generous 1 cucumber, peeled, seeded and chopped fine
8 ounces dry sake
2 teaspoons sugar
2 juicy lime wedges
2 paper thin slices cucumber, unpeeled, for garnish

Fill two martini glasses with ice and water to quickly chill. Add the cucumber to a cocktail shaker and muddle, as if making a mojito. Add sake and sugar; squeeze in the juice of the two lime wedges. Fill shaker with ice and shake vigorously. If you’re not in a rush, let it sit for 1 to 2 minutes. Discard the ice water in your martini glasses. Shake again and strain saketini mixture into glasses. Float a cucumber slice in each drink and enjoy.

Whimsical Farm Wedding in Portland

This wedding has ethereal down pat. It’s an easy task when the bride’s this beautiful. And with the help of the lovely folks at Postelwait’s Farm, these country nuptials came together as pretty as can be. I simply can’t get enough of the abundant blooms from Espe Floral and Foliage, the bride’s flowing veil from Rosewood Bridal, and cupcakes from Lambs Thriftway. Christa Taylor was there to capture the day.

Whimsical

From Christa Taylor PhotographyWhen I first met Cassandra and Eric, Eric had just moved from Montana and was putting down his roots in Portland. It was a new chapter and a new beginning. At first, his employment was just a stable respectable job, clock in, clock out, and pay the bills.

All that changed when he met Cassandra. Whether it was her ethereal beauty or her sweet kindness and charming reserve — Eric was won immediately. They are such a contrast, each a perfect counter-balance for the other. Her softness balanced by his decisiveness, her gentle love tempering his fearlessness. While opposites in some respects, they are one and the same heart. And that, my friends, makes a beautiful marriage.

Their wedding day dawned on a beautiful June Saturday, complete with a gentle breeze wafting through the fields surrounding Postlewait Farms. In classic Portland style, their community of family and friends all joined in for the set-up, bringing in their rustic arch festooned with incredible florals, hanging the pipe and drape and twinkle lights, setting the tables. It was a worker bee paradise.

Finally everything was ready, and as Cassandra stepped into her gown, we prepared the blindfolds. Yes, instead of a traditional “first look” Cassandra and Eric wanted to reserve that for the aisle and opted instead for a moment to connect…blindfolded.
They whispered sweet nothings in each others ears, laughing and releasing all the jitters that had traffic jammed into each other.
With one final clasp of the hands they parted till the ceremony.

Cassandra’s creativity and taste were evident in every aspect of this wedding. She had planned this soirée to a T. The tables were elegantly festooned by the talented Espe Floral and Foliage, complete with the rugged wood rounds which have become one of Portland’s evergreen trademarks. She elevated the classic mason jar with wrapped twine, ribbon and personalized detail in blush and sage green. Her gift to Eric was a custom designed set of cuff links, a long standing inside joke between them. The ceremony featured that gorgeous arch, and a pinecone strewn aisle.

As Eric and Cassandra reviewed their vows, the guests settled into their seats, and watched with delight as the couple finally became man and wife. During cocktail hour, we stole the bride and groom away for some woodland portraits, eventually joining the guests and the photo-booth for some candid fun. Friends meandered the grounds, enjoying the country inspired buffet, fire-roasted marshmallow bar, cigars and selection of sweets (hand picked favorites of the bride and groom).

Hans Huffman with mad DJ skills kept the party going with uproarious laughter and some epic tunes. It was a beautiful night.
When sunset was upon us, Eric and his new bride walked out to the vineyard for a final moment of quiet respite and glorious light. This is always my favorite time, a time to breathe, a time to capture that glow of evening and a time to fully embrace the love shared between the two.
It was everything it should be, and the final partings were made as husband and wife sent their guests away with their favorite tea flavors in individual packages.

Seaside Chic Bridal Party Tea Party

If I could, I would crawl into this shoot from Bethany Small Photography and never leave. Because all the pretty pictures below basically sum up my vision of a dream day. The ocean, great friends, gorgeous florals from Good Seed Floral Design, and stunning styling? That’s the definition of perfection for me.

From Bethany Small PhotographyA couple of months ago I had this vision of beauty in my mind that I could not shake! Women coming together for a special event; an event that each lady would remember for some time to come. I planned a tea party by the ocean full of flowing dresses, an abundance of floral and pretty details. Each lady in attendance was chosen to be a part of a day full of beautiful makeup, beach waves in their hair and beautiful dresses!

I would have never dreamed that planning and photographing such an event would turn into something so memorable for not only myself but every lady in attendance! The event became an evening that these women felt truly appreciated and beautiful whether they were sipping tea like a lady or splashing in the waves like a child!

It’s moments like these that a photograph becomes so much more; it becomes a story of beauty, grace and friendship!

Heartwarming Wedding Film

I think there might be a direct correlation between how much a couple has been through and the amount of tears shed at the ceremony. No sexy glistens here, folks. You can tell that the love these two have for each other is profound and unwavering, and this video from Happily Ever After Films showcases their relationship beautifully. So press play, and I dare you to try not to well up at least a little at this one.

From Happily Ever After FilmsWhen Randi first got in touch with us and told us her love story with Brad, we knew we had to get this one right. They had been dating for 5 years when Brad was seriously injured. His friend and coworker was critically injured in a construction accident and Brad jumped 50′ into a shallow river to save his friends life. He performed CPR until medics arrived and it was at that time he realized he was badly hurt. After multiple surgery’s and rehabilitation for a broken back, Randi and Brad were finally able to celebrate the wedding they always dreamed about. It was an incredibly emotional day surrounded by family and friends, including the friend he saved.

Tuscan Wedding Inspiration In Portland

A wedding in Italy would no-doubt be awesome, but sometimes your budget dictates you play out that dream closer to home. Enter this Tuscan-inspired shoot by Champagne Wedding Coordination with all the accoutrements — lemons everywhere, light-as-air cakes from Lux Sucre — within the comfort of Opal 28.  Thanks to Hoddick Photography, there’s a whole gallery of inspiration.

From Champagne Wedding CoordinationWe wanted to inspire couples who have visions of a destination wedding under the Tuscan sun but don’t have the budget. You can bring all of the romantic details of Italy to the Northwest in this lovely boutique venue, Opal 28 in Portland, Oregon.

The inspiration for our stylized shoot came from lemons which remind us of the Tuscan sun. We took cues from Tuscany and citrus orchards to create an elegant and rich look. We played off of the warm feel of Opal 28 and used lots of ivories, lemon, olive, and deep toned wood.

Lux Sucre carried the theme through to the decadent flavors of the desserts while playing up beautiful details on a simple color palette. Tie That Binds created a gorgeous invitation suite, menus, and personalized signs as well darling lemon leaf place-cards. Zest Floral used ivory, greens and light yellow to create a lush and delicate look for the entire shoot.

For the more traditional ceremony look, we put the bride in a cathedral length veil and beautifully detailed dress from Ania Couture and the groom in a distinctive tuxedo by Tuxedo Warehouse through Este’s. The romantic updo by Jennifer at Face Body Beauty easily transitioned to cascading curls, accented by a delicate floral crown from Zest for a more relaxed reception look. Sahlia Jewelry provided the uniquely gorgeous hairpiece for the ceremony look and all the jewelry for both bridal looks.

Homemade Family-Infused Portland, Oregon Wedding

Homemade equals heartfelt in my book, and that couldn’t be more true with this darling DIY wedding captured by Stephanie Kaloi Photography. This adorable couple let their personality shine through every perfect detail, and boy, do we love every second of it. See even more here

From Stephanie Kaloi PhotographyHaley and Josh had a seriously gorgeous and small(ish!) wedding at the North Star Ballroom in Portland, Oregon. I’m kind of obsessed with these guys — besides the venue and the photography, everything was completely homemade by the couple and their friends and family. They wrapped yarn around hearts and hung them up, pulled vases and glasses from thrift stores and family collections, and did one another’s hair and make-up. Haley’s brother sang “Bloom” by The Paper Kites as she walked up the aisle (and everything cried), and her aunt made all of the amaaaaazing pie that was served. Haley and Josh are truly lucky to have such a tight knit group around them — and it also made for pretty hilarious photos (especially on the groom’s side!).

The wedding was inside, which is super smart for this time of year in Portland (rain!) but also just a really Portland thing — our city is filled with so many amazing, unique venues, and this is one of them. The North Star Ballroom is filled with classic Portland charm, and Haley and Josh’s wedding set this vibe off juuuuust right. Even though they’re from Bend, these two are emblematic of what’s great about Portland (and really, Oregon in general): it’s modern, fun, and definitely it’s own thing — like the two of them.

They also had a really cool unity ceremony — instead of using sand or candles, they used paint! Haley and pink paint and Josh had gray paint (to go with the colors of the day) and they poured their paint on a canvas at the same time. It was awesome! I haven’t seen a unity ceremony like that in the 6 years I’ve been shooting. :) Another first: Josh completely lost it and cried during the first look! I’ve definitely worked with emotional grooms before, but I’ve never had one full on cry during the first look. It was the sweetest thing!

I also love how these guys weren’t afraid to just totally be themselves. Haley has part of her head shaved, and everyone was super concerned about it showing on her wedding day. She intentionally styled her hair so that it would — and it looked amazing! Little things like this paired with their more traditional attire were just the best.

From Jamie Rae Photography… Ease and elegance are two words you will rarely hear uttered together whilst wedding planning, yet this Oregon garden inspirational shoot was designed to marry those two concepts. Our goal was to couple a natural, simplistic palette with an infusion of romance and whimsy simultaneously worthy of the elegant bride and inspirational to the DIY lover.

Envisioned by Lane’ of Something Borrowed, we brought together a timeless palette that would remind even the most zealous bride that sometimes less is more when it comes to elegance. A woodland theme with impeccable floral design incorporating seasonal ferns, helleborous, and vines set an organic tone for the table setting and pie bar. An innovative herbal wreath backdrop dripping with rosemary and thyme (which smelled heavenly!) set the stage for local delicacies and blended seamlessly with the year round botanical artistry that the Oregon Garden Resort boasts.

From the locally made wedding dress to the uniquely designed stationery and all details in between, we created a shoot that we hope will inspire with a simple and romantic sense of organic elegance.

Romantic Vintage Barn Wedding in Portland Oregon

I wish I could bottle this wedding up somehow, and bring it with me wherever I go. It’s just the perfect amount of darling and stylish with a whole lot of gorgeous sprinkled on top, which has enviably makes me one seriously happy blogger. Eryn Kesler was behind the lens to make sure every moment was captured in the loveliest of ways, so this gallery? You can’t miss it.

From the Bride…After my husband Greg proposed, I was not sure what type of wedding I wanted, but since I am a country girl I knew it had to include a barn. We visited several different venues around the Portland area before deciding on McMenamins Cornelius Pass Roadhouse. The octagonal barn and historic farmhouse was the perfect setting for my dream wedding. I spent months looking at Pinterest and Etsy for design inspiration and DIY ideas until eventually my “vintage farm” theme was born. Greg and I wanted our guests to feel like they were stepping back in time, but we also wanted to include fun touches like our mustache and lips lollipop favors. I went to garage sales and flea markets nearly every weekend over the summer collecting antiques and found great furniture pieces at several local rental companies. The ceremony was originally set to be outside that day, but in true Oregon fashion it rained in the morning and most of the afternoon so we moved the ceremony inside of the barn with our guests seated around us. Looking back I am really glad we made that decision, it made the setting feel more romantic and intimate. I have many great memories from my wedding, but one of the best moments was my father-in-law driving me to our venue in his 1950 Buick and allowing us to take pictures with it in front of the farmhouse. It added the perfect touch to our vintage style wedding!

Forest Anniversary Session

I can’t think of a better way to celebrate your two-year anniversary than with a romp through the Oregon forest.  It’s the kind of breathtaking locale that makes for some amazing images… and some amazing moments, clear blue skies and a raging river included.  See every gorgeous second captured beautifully by When He Found Her right here.

From When He Found Her Photography… Allegra and Zack just recently celebrated their two year anniversary with a shoot in their home state: Oregon.

I have always had an admiration for the West Coast – I feel it’s where I belong, so any chance I can get to photograph a couple there, I’m all in! The Oregon landscape has always blown me away.  The tree covered mountains and crystal clear rivers really go hand in hand with the Oregon culture that lives within it: extremely easy-going, laid-back and full of life. These two were were no exception and it was an honor to document the celebration of their second year married.
