For the tables, I just used random personal collections I had amassed over time; mercury glass, crystal doorknobs, milk glass, cloche jars, vintage china, and Ohio buckeyes. I found a great fabric that I used for table runners and had a wonderful Etsy seller put that same pattern into my daughter’s(flower girl) and niece’s(maid of honor) dresses. My boys wore tuxedo tees, (at their request), and I made both of them ring bearers.

Nancy of the wonderful beauty studio Brideface in Cincinnati has been sweet enough to share her real wedding with us. It was a complete family affair, with the couple’s young children taking a front seat role in the ceremony which was held at her parent’s ridiculously beautiful home. The entire event is just a lesson in love and I am so thrilled that she let us share in her day…

My own dress is a Calvin Klein, found for nearly nothing on a clearance rack (after weeks of searching!) I made my haircomb, my earrings were made by a dear friend, my cuff was J Crew, and my shoes were Kensie.
More details on the way!!

LOVING today’s real wedding. The bride, who just happens to be a fabulous beauty guru in our Little Black Book, recruited the best vendors in her area to help with her budget friendly but absolutely lovely wedding. I love that the happiness behind the event just makes the whole day shine.
So incredibly beautiful. The photographs, shot by the oh-so-talented Tine Hofmann of TM Photography, are exquisite…showing the candid emotion, the simple beauty, the sheer lovliness of the day. And, we have so much more from Tine and Nancy on the way!

I spent a little time checking out the work on the TM Photography blog today, the photographer behind the absolutely beautiful images from today’s featured wedding. Ten minutes turned into twenty which turned quickly into an hour…SUCH lovely real weddings, such incredible photography.
But, what I really loved was the glowing reviews that Tine, the photographer, had to say about Nancy, today’s bride and owner of Brideface in Cincinnati. Seems that everything she touches turns into something beautiful…from the brides that she works with to her own real wedding…
From Nancy…
Rich was living in Brooklyn when we met, and we were engaged at the Brooklyn Bridge, so Kristen Folzenlogen of LetterHeads did a brilliant sketch to bring that element to your invitations. I gave Courtenay Lambert full reign with the florals-I knew I wanted succulents and golds and lots of interesting texture. She blew me away with what she came up with! She even surprised me with a tiny image of my late sister nestled into my gorgeous bouquet.

Love, love, love today’s wedding. Not only is the bride one of our favorite Little Black Book members, Nancy of Brideface, the wedding itself is unbelievably sweet…filled with perfect DIY touches, the intimacy of close friends and family and touches of simple, straightforward beauty.
More from Nancy…
We had fewer than fifty guests- Oh and we were on a slim budget! It was important to us that my children (6 year old twins and a four year old) be a large part of the ceremony, so we incorporated then into the vows, with our officiant asking each one of them if they would take Rich to be their dad.
So cute, so so cute. More to come!

I love when vendors from our Little Black Book send me pictures from their own wedding. Having worked in the industry and seen hundreds of the most gorgeous affairs, there is just something easy and beautiful about a vendor’s wedding. And this one, by the wonderfully talented Nancy of Brideface in Cincinnati, didn’t disappoint!
Relaxed and utterly elegant with chic happiness tucked into every detail…from the sunny, but fabulous flowers to the touch of muted teal in her cashmere cardi. Love, love, love.
From Nancy…
It was a small, casual gathering at my parents’ home which has a great woodsy setting. We had a very short time frame(about three months!) in which to plan so I relied on my friend Alison Wenstrup of Aviva events; www.aviva-events.com to help me cope with wedding stuff in the middle of what was a very busy part of wedding season for my own business. I of course am very fortunate to call some of the city’s top vendors my friends, so I did have a home court advantage! My vision was to have a groovy dinner party that just happened to have a wedding at the beginning of it; no wedding cake, no d.j.,no “forced” toasts, no garter or bouquet toss.
Nancy recruited three other Little Black Book members to help her pull this incredible party together including the talent behind the photographs above TM Photography, the fabulous team at The Bridal Studio and the ridiculously lovely flowers by Courtenay Lambert.
