Wedding Wednesday is without a doubt my favorite day of the week. It’s a day where we kick up our heels and celebrate with a slew of stunning weddings just because we can. And this week it all starts with this Chapel Hill affair set at, designed and planned by the impeccable Fearrington Village. It’s a family-centered celebration that Sarah Der Photography captured to total perfection. Click here for even more!
But before you hurry off to the gallery, join me for a viewing of the beautiful wedding film from Josh Sliffe Videography.

From Sarah Der Photography…The bride and groom were married at Fearrington Village in Chapel Hill, NC on a mild winter day in November. The wedding was rustic, simple, a bit “European garden” in sensibility, centered on family/friends and their faith. The groom is Korean and the bride is Chinese, so they included a few of the traditional customs–a tea ceremony and an activity during which in order to kiss the bride, the groom had to overcome challenges set by the bride’s bridesmaids! They both LOVE food and the put together a menu of delicious and comforting Southern-inspired food. The bride even did all the lovely calligraphy herself! Such a beautiful, family centered celebration.

I’m the first to admit I fall in love with a wedding multiple times a day. Sometimes it’s the beautiful blooms that catch my heart, other times it’s the gorgeous venue. Today it was everything. A stunning design from Erin McLean Events for a couple so wonderful you’ll fall in love too. Captured fabulously by Cyn Kain Photographer, and put into a gallery for you, this wedding even has a special treat in the form of a highlight film from Life Stage Films!
And because we couldn’t get away without just a final shot of this adorable couple from Life Stage Films…

We met because my best friend from college married Todd’s little brother. They had been trying to set us up for a few years but I was in Colorado and Todd was in Afghanistan… so it never worked out. We finally met at their wedding in May of 2010 and we quickly decided that we were going to make this long distance thing work. They were our matron of honor/best man.
Todd and I had been living apart since we met (Army) He was down in Charleston and I was in DC. One weekend in October when he was up visiting we decided to take a walk through the monuments at night before dinner (I’d been wanting to see the new MLK monument). It was also something we had done one of the first weekends we spent together in DC. It was memorial day weekend and all the monuments were covered with flowers and letters to soldiers. We were both extremely moved by it all at the WWII Memorial and Todd says he knew he wanted to propose there. So – on our walk – when we got the the middle of the WWII Memorial he gave his camera to some strangers to snap a pic and got down on one knee!
Not only that – he had arranged for my parents (From NC) to be waiting for us at dinner. Not only that – his brother John and wife Candice worked with Todds parents to surprise both of us with a visit (from Vermont)! It was so amazing to celebrate with our parents on the spot!

A southern soiree by A Southern Soiree is the perfect recipe for a morning spent in pure wedding-loving bliss. And I honestly can’t think of a better way to kick off the first moments of your morning than swimming in these gorgeous images from Robin Lin Photography. They just happen to be filled to the brim with lovely – from the intimate setting at the North Carolina Botanical Garden to the fabulous blooms from Tre Bella Flowers and every pretty thing in between – it’s safe to say this set of nuptials is a morning saver for sure. See so much more here!
From A Southern Soiree… Caroline and John’s intimate summer wedding took place at one of my favorite locations in Chapel Hill: The North Carolina Botanical Garden. This setting was absolutely perfect for this couple! The ceremony was held outside among the beautiful gardens, and the reception took place in the event space located in the gardens. As the sun started to set, officiant Mike Cleckler, the maid of honor’s father, tied the knot for the couple under a beautiful arbor decorated with a few roses from the bride’s parents’ backyard. One of the groomsmen also played the guitar for both the processional and recessional, which was very special to both the bride and groom. And I must add that the bride looked stunning in her beautiful, long veil and her stunning dress!
You could feel just how much this couple was loved! The reception was completely transformed into a GORGEOUS space! The room was draped with elegant fabric and lighting, fabulous linens, table numbers crafted by the bride herself, as well as lovely centerpieces to tie the entire look together! The couple and their guests danced the night away, but one of my favorite moments of the evening was catching Caroline’s father on the dance floor! The couple ended the night with a fantastic sparkler exit and left in style in a charming vintage car, which made a perfect ending to a perfect night!
