Casual Hampton Bays Beach Engagement

This love sesh from Kelsey Combe Photography is a winner in my book. It’s a mash-up of a handful of personal favorites: the beach, Harpoon brews, s’mores, acoustic tunes and of course, snuggles in a cozy blanket. It’s one that’ll warm your heart and make your eyes twinkle a little brighter with love.

From Kelsey Combe PhotographyWe just love meeting couples at their engagement shoots- especially when we get to travel to somewhere very special to them. Emily & Ben spend the happiest parts of their lives on the beach- surfing, sunning, & paddle-boarding with their pup Holly. So when they invited us out to Hampton Bays for a casual, bonfire, beach engagement (complete with s’mores and beers), how could we not be thrilled? It was a cool & extremely hazy May evening and we had a wonderful time getting to know them around the fire. Emily & Ben’s love is infectious- I mean, the pictures speak for themselves. I just love the way she looks at him. And there is nothing that compares to a warm fire on the shores of the Ocean. This session feels free & crisp, like early summer, which is exactly what it was.

Multicultural Wedding at the Harold Pratt House

For a couple who simply wanted to wed in the city they call home, there seemed no better place for Ein Photography to capture their love than Central Park. The hustle and bustle against the park’s quiet beauty made for the ultimate background, and these captures are only the beginning. More pretty and bouquet goodies by Sprout right here.

From Ein PhotographyJoyce and Davis work in the creative field in the city. Even though we were in the middle of the busiest city in the world, they were laid-back, and truly enjoying the day. Since their nature of being easy going, we did the portrait session in the Central Park. The nature and the quietness in the city complimented their personality.

From invitations to her traditional dress, there were a very subtle mix of Chinese and American cultures. She had her red traditional dress and shoes tailor made for the wedding day, and the lion dance at the end of the reception was the just exciting for everybody.

New York City Wedding at the Saint Regis Hotel

When I first sat down and opened this gorgeous wedding, my head was all over the place. I was in busy mode and my to-do list was top of mind. But that all changed when I hit play on  Tweed Weddings‘ heart-grabbing film. At that moment, all that mattered was watching By Yena Designs‘ spectacular New York City wedding unfold. It’s a true testament of the importance of wedding cinematography, and definitely worth a few minutes of your busy Monday. See more here.

From By Yena DesignsI’ve been a floral and event designer for the last 5 years and recently started my own company, By Yena Designs. My husband is a landscape designer and we met when I was the events director at a large floral design company in downtown Manhattan.

We chose to get married in New York, a special place for us having met in the city and having both worked in New York for many years. We also go engaged in Westchester.

We wanted our wedding to reflect both our tastes for modern design but within a classic New York ballroom. We chose the Saint Regis rooftop ballroom as the perfect spot for our classic New York wedding with a modern twist.

I designed and created all the floral décor for our wedding (except my bouquet! which my dear friend and floral designer colleague created for me), designed and printed all paper elements including the whole wedding invitation suite, and chose the linen and napkin colors to compliment the flowers and the lighting design.

We chose purple/indigo as our wedding color and wanted to use as many shades of purple and blue that we could. I had all the bridesmaids choose their own dresses in any purple or blue color they liked. They all wore, Amsale, Monique Lhuiller Bridesmaids, and Jim Hjelm.

The flowers were of course my favorite part of planning the wedding! I chose to use mostly white flowers with pops purple in varying shades. All different shades of purple like lavender from the Ocean Song Roses, dark purple Tulips, and even the bi-colored Picasso Callas.

Rustic Wedding in the Catskills

I’m hoping this couple made some sort of career change after their wedding because I’d like to chat with them about my own upcoming nuptials. From the barn wood tables to endless custom details, they created a rustic wonderland for their guests. Add in an awesome venue and gorgeous photos by Brigham & Co. and you’ll find me taking notes from the full gallery for the foreseeable future.

Rustic

From Brigham & Co… High school sweethearts, Christie and Tommy have been together for more than a decade. The native Long Islanders sought an escape from the busy city to celebrate what would be the best day of their lives.

In the heart of the Catskills, just a hop-skip from where the duo vacations and hunt deer and duck, C&T settled on the serene, woodland property of the Roxbury Barn. And on July 19, 2014, the two said “I do.”

Tommy, the hunter, and Christie, the gatherer, assembled much of the big day with their own two hands. Tommy crafted the 16-foot barn wood tables from a felled barn down the road from the venue, while Christie collected every single piece of China, glassware, furniture and the antique yard games for prime cocktail hour entertainment. They even brought their beloved furry family, Kiera and Joey, to say “I do too.”

Readying in a mid-nineteenth century home, the bride and her best girls since juvenescence sipped on bubbly clothed in robes, a jubilant glimmer in their eyes.

The couple wedded at the top of a hill in a pine grove beneath cool, gray skies and surrounded by pale pinks, textures, and everyone who mattered. The reception glistened at twilight and with hanging lights, and the night cozily and tranquilly came to a close alongside the bonfire.

Dedicated in loving memory to Tommy’s mother, Sandra Franklin, a strong, loving and vivacious woman who let this world much too soon.

Romantic Spring Hudson Vallley Wedding

In the words of the Bride, “A wedding isn’t perfect because of how pretty or how seamless the details of the day pan out. It’s perfect because you deem it to be and because you are having the time of your life with your best friend.” And to be honest, I couldn’t have said it better myself. The flowers from True Florette and photos by Ashley Kelemen make this love affair one not to be missed.

From The Bride…There are times you know in your deepest of hearts what it is exactly that you hope and long for when it comes to your wedding day. Because Todd and I had a relatively short engagement, we knew we had to jump on wedding planning almost immediately. Initially, there were talks of running off, just the two of us with our immediate families, but seriously who were we kidding?! The both of us love having fun just a bit too much and were not going to pass up having the party of our lives! Thus began the story of the unwavering heart. There was little time for indecisiveness and fortunately I had a few (…or more) convictions from the onset of the planning process. Without question, we both knew we wanted to be married outdoors, surrounded by nature and its insurmountable beauty. We were incredibly surprised to have found our venue on our very first visit. Monteverde at Oldstone had everything we were looking for and more.

After our venue was set, it was time for the fun creative bit. There was so much natural beauty to be embraced, I opted to keep everything simple and clean. Our wedding was to be a reflection of us, our personalities, style and who we are as people. That’s always what I’ve loved most about weddings. It is such an expression and embodiment of the couple themselves. Each unique in its own special way. We wanted ours to be casually elegant with a healthy dose of whimsy & fun. The idea was to keep it classic but relaxed. Determined not to fall victim to “too much pink”, I decided to go with blush, earthy tones of ivory/nudes, coupled with accents of gold.

In tribute to Todd and I’s sweet love story that was borne and largely lived out in New York City, we incorporated a subtle apple theme to our wedding. They made their first appearance as postage stamps affixed to our wedding invitations. For those who took a closer look, apples were embedded in our floral centerpieces and guest tables were aptly named after different apple varietals. Some of my favorite creative details from the day included our custom watercolor floral invitation suite and seating chart painted by the insanely talented Yao Cheng Design and the beautiful peonies perched atop gold candle holders that greeted guests at the escort card table. We were also very fortunate to have had the creative support of my matron of honor, Emma, who lovingly did all the calligraphy for our invitations, escort cards, bridesmaid dress tags, table numbers and more. She added such beauty and grace with these little details.

As for the bridesmaid dresses, I knew I wanted something a little different. I opted for two varying earthy tones and two pinks and had each maid choose their own style dress. Our ring bearer and flower girl were purposefully outfitted to be mini-me versions of Todd and myself. For a smattering of fun and a good time, we had bubble guns, an ice cream cart, whimsical balloons, and a spritz yourself little perfume bar. In lieu of traditional well wishes for the bride and groom, we asked our guests to share their favorite restaurants with us.

In the end, a wedding isn’t perfect because of how pretty you remember it to be or how seamless the details of the day pan out. It’s perfect because you deem it to be and because you are having the time of your life with your best friend and partner in life. We had our share of hiccups earlier in the day when the sunniest of skies turned into mean heavy rain clouds that forced us to shift our ceremony indoors. With an unwavering heart, we pushed through and were determined to have our wedding outdoors, just as we had wanted all along. Together with my dad, I will never forget how the skies parted to give way to the first sweet ray of sun as we made our descent towards the aisle. That afternoon, Todd and I exchanged vows against the most majestic mountain backdrop and walked out to a strings rendition of “Here Comes the Sun” by the Beatles.

We had our magical fairytale wedding and the time of our lives because we had the privilege of sharing and celebrating our love and commitment to each other with the most loving, gracious and supporting family and friends to whom we owe all our thanks. Thank you for making our day so meaningful and special. We also owe a million thanks to all of our amazing vendors. They really deserve all the credit for making the day possible. Thank you to everyone who was a part of our day and for all the memories for which we are most grateful.

Classic New York City Wedding at The Loeb Central Park Boathouse

When Carmen Santorelli steps behind the lens, beautiful things are bound to happen. Inevitably, a story starts to unfold by way of her work-of-art images, and today we get to peel away the layers of this gorgeous couples’ timeless New York City wedding planned by Private Receptions. Their love for each other and the city that means so much to them shines through each and every gorgeous image, making this gallery beyond perfect.

From The Bride…From our proposal with an Empire State Building backdrop to our Brooklyn Bridge engagement photos, I think some could say Chris and I are almost as in love with New York City as we are with each other. We knew this was where we wanted to be married.

A majority of our guests were flying in from all over the country so we were hoping to give them a true Big Apple experience. The inspiration for our wedding surrounded the beauty of this legendary city and we picked iconic locations for both the ceremony and the reception, Church of St. Ignatius Loyola on the upper east side and The Central Park Boathouse. Starting with the vintage Manhattan map envelop liner in our invitations to the Tate’s cookies as our favors, we really wanted New York City to shine leading up to and throughout our big day.

With a summer wedding, we wanted to keep everything light and chose hues of blush and ivory, but added a black accent for a classic touch. We picked Central Park (an obvious choice) for our photos and in true NYC form, had an unexpected afternoon shower, but that didn’t stop our photos from turning out magical.

One of the most memorable parts of our day was seeing all of our guests laughing, eating and dancing with a Central Park sunset in the background.

Our wedding day was truly unforgettable.

Romantic Seaside Wedding at The Montauk Yacht Club

Relaxed yet incredibly elegant, this Montauk beauty is filling our screens with an incredible amount of pretty this morning. Captured by lovely Charlotte Jenks Lewis in a way that will make your heart sing, this gallery paints the prettiest picture of a day overflowing with love. See it all here.

From The Bride…Shortly after getting engaged we quickly decided that the only place we could get married was New York. Andrew is from a large Irish family that mainly resides in New York, New Jersey and Long Island. We are talking 55 first cousin big family! But Rachel being originally from Tiburon, CA wanted her dream wedding to have a California feel and a location that was on the water. They soon decided that Montauk had the relaxed California vibe combined with a great location easily accessible for all guests. And with Andrew’s love of surfing, ditch plains was just a perfect piece to the puzzle. After selecting Montauk Yacht Club as the ideal venue for our large wedding the nautical theme kind of found us. We wanted everything to have a very personalized feel – which carried over into writing our own ceremony from start to finish. Rachel even found the perfect illustrator in an Edible Brooklyn magazine that created our customized invitation.

We also wanted to try to keep things light and breezy the whole wedding weekend. The day of our wedding we started off with a morning yoga session followed by a guided hike later in the afternoon. The ceremony was walking distance from the cocktail reception and the dinner and dancing and everything was tented so that we could enjoy the views of the water all night long. Andrew left strongly about having a live band – we really wanted everyone to dance the night away. So Those Guys, having played Andrew’s brothers wedding as well, were a perfect fit. They have so much energy that it is contagious.

From Clean Plate PicturesCollaborating with Kristen of Full Aperture Floral and Jess of Manifest Events on a same-sex marriage inspiration shoot was fantastic. Their vision was beautiful and original and it was so much fun working together to bring it to reality.

Using ‘Old New York’ as our inspiration we used iconic locations such as Dumbo and Vinegar Hill to capture a vintage feeling. Both neighborhoods posses that classic spirit of New York City with cobblestone streets, weathered doorways, hidden alleyways and of course, the Brooklyn Bridge.

Tucked away in the heart of Hell’s Kitchen we transformed a charming private terrace into an intimate reception space brimming with romance. With a backdrop of fire escapes, exposed brick, and touches of industrialism, the reception space conjured “West Side Story” with a modern twist.

Setting the stage for an ultra-romantic celebration, with the Grooms in the center, our color palette featured navy as the main color with muted tones of peach and pops of coral. To play up the industrial elements of the space we brought in gold, silver and bronze metallic accents. The flowers by Full Aperture Floral were kept masculine and lush with a touch of whimsy. Kristen artfully crafted unique textures and romantic blooms for a timeless, organic composition. Unusual flowers such as unripe blueberries and jasmine were paired with Parrot tulips, garden roses and scabiosa creating an enchanting aesthetic.

We styled the perfect vintage sweetheart table for our Grooms. The tablescape, designed by Manifest Events, was created using the Kate Spade New York Dinnerware Collection paired with West Elm gold and silver flatware. The textures on the plates as well as the mix of metallic details on the table amplified the industrial imagery often associated with ‘Old New York.’ We completed our sweetheart table with Gold Chivari chairs, a custom olive leaf garland, and matching hand-painted gold and navy ‘Groom’ and ‘Groom’ chair signs.

The invitation suite, designed by Manifest Events, brought in hues of navy blue and gold while utilizing fine lines and details to enhance the architectural feel of the event. The envelopes were lined with antique New York City maps and stamped with vintage New York City postage. Jess also did the hand calligraphy for the envelopes, place card tags and Groom chair signs.

Instead of the traditional guestbook, messages for the newlyweds could be written on vintage New York City postcards (found at a few antique stores in the area).

For the favors, black and white cookies were wrapped in antique NYC maps and tied with a navy string and a ‘Thank You’ note. Perched next to the favors Full Aperture Floral created a breathtaking arrangement dripping with Jasmine.

The cake, designed by Butterfly Bakeshop, was the perfect addition to our intimate fete. Clean and understated, we adorned the navy and white four tier cake with peach and white flowers and placed it on a custom white cake stand, wreathed in olive branches.

Karen and Mari of Crown Street Productions wonderfully captured the shoot on video and Jackie Schneider Beauty did the fabulous grooming of our dapper models. It was such a fantastic team of professionals to work with and the results, I think, are inspiring. So glad I played a part in this shoot.

Whimsical Brooklyn Wedding at the Wythe Hotel

I’ve come to find that New York City weddings are in a league all their own. They push the envelope of pretty and take city chic style to a whole new level. Exhibit A: this Wythe Hotel lovefest beautifully designed by DM Events. They brought the couple’s quirky-yet-classic vision to life, and Elizabeth And Rich alongside Love + Brain Films captured every last bit.

[iframe http://www.youtube.com/embed/zspCMlB68ZI 600 338]

From DM Events Planning & DesignWhen you are designing a wedding with details as gorgeous as your bride and as fun as your groom, you have a pretty easy job! That was definitely the case with Sara + Seth who said their I-do’s at the Wythe Hotel. We channeled Sara’s beauty in the centerpieces and placesettings – soft florals in hues of peach and pink anchored the table, and crystal glassware and mercury vases and votives completed a classic, romantic look. Seth’s rockstar personality was layered in using uber fun placemats, a naked milk bar cake and hilarious signage thought the reception. But Sara is quite a rockstar herself, rocking glam silver high top sneakers and changing into her second look, an adorable white romper. Love and laughs filled the evening starting with a stunning etched chuppah and ending with every partygoers dream: a grilled cheese food truck! We don’t think these two stopped smiling all night, and that is what it is all about!

City Views and Champagne Bridal Shower

If you ask me, it doesn’t get better than city views and champagne. Filled with plenty of both, this destination brunch at the Hudson Hotel was perfectly planned from the pops of gold (the Bride’s favorite color) to the paintings given as presents.. Shot by Kayla Poole, this gathering of girlfriends serves as perfect inspiration for any party, big or small.

From Cate Malone, owner of Little White Dress Bridal Shop in Denver, Colorado…My daughter, Kelly, is getting married this October in Beaver Creek, Colorado. She lives in Philadelphia, and her bridesmaids, family and friends live all over the country (and world), so we decided to hold her bridal shower in a place that would be fun and beautiful and also accessible to many of the women traveling to her shower. New York City fit the bill perfectly! For a June shower, I searched for a rooftop venue with great views, a convenient location in Manhattan, and spectacular service (particularly important since Kelly’s maid of honor and I were planning long distance!) Thankfully I found the Hudson Hotel’s Sky Terrace, which was absolutely gorgeous and wonderful to work with.

We opted for a brunch shower, complete with mimosas, bloody mary’s and pastries, and a color palette of gold, blush, and poppy to complement the lush greenery on the rooftop terrace. To keep an intimate feel we had one long table for brunch, then moved into the garden gazebo-style area for gifts and games. Afterward, the outside lounge area with eclectic furniture was the perfect place to for Kelly to relax with her guests over glasses of champagne.

Kelly has a passion for photography, and I knew that getting great photos of her shower would be important to her. Thankfully we came across Kayla Poole Photography, and she did a fantastic job capturing all the details and special moments of the day.

From The Bride…My shower was more beautiful than I ever could have imagined! My mother and maid of honor had told me where it was going to be, but kept all the other details a surprise for me. I love that the spectacular summer city setting is such a contrast to my Colorado mountain wedding this fall. It was so fun to walk out onto the roof terrace and see all the details they came up with, from the banners overlooking the incredible New York City view, to the gold touches everywhere (gold is my favorite!), the photos of me and my fiancé over the years, and the incredible table setting. The only request I had for my mother and maid of honor when they were planning the shower was to have it in New York City, so the fact that they found the perfect location and created so many touches that were very “me” all on their own was really a testament to how well they know me.

My nieces and nephew even made little paintings for me in the shower colors, depicting special scenes – the Love statue in Philadelphia (where I live), flowers for my shower, and the mountains for my Colorado wedding. My youngest niece (four months old) was there at the shower, and she was definitely the biggest hit of the party!

A few of the most special gifts I received were a white sapphire necklace that was passed down through the generations by my great-great-grandmother, a tote bag with the Colorado flag embroidered with mine and my fiancé’s names and our wedding date, and a globe marked with all the locations around the world that my fiancé and I have lived in or visited together. Another wonderful surprise during the shower was the delivery of a gorgeous bouquet of flowers from my fiancé, with a very sweet note from him.

I wanted something a bit different and colorful for my shower dress, so when I found the blue and white dress from Anthropologie I knew it would be unique but still “bridal”. My beautiful Twigs & Honey headpiece is from Little White Dress Bridal Shop (I’m the luckiest bride in the world to have such an incredible bridal shop as my family’s business!). A fun addition to my look was the Kate Spade “MRANDMRS” license plate clutch – and how perfect that it says New York on it!

Until my own shower I never fully understood the importance of the tradition of the bridal shower. But after being surrounded by so much love (and pampering) from the most important women in my life, I feel more ready than ever to get married and I really understand why the shower is a kind of “rite of passage” for brides. Besides choosing my wedding dress (of course from Little White Dress!) it was the first time I really felt like a bride. It was so fun to see my closest friends and bridesmaids – all from different places and times in my life – get to know one another better, and to share the excitement of my future wedding and marriage. The icing on the cake was being given such a beautiful, no-detail-overlooked shower in one of my favorite cities!

Garden Romance at the Kittle House

One thing is for sure, a wedding bursting with blooms is a wedding after my own heart. And when it’s a garden wedding at the Kittle House (hello, pretty rose bushes!), it’s even better. Forever In Bloom dotted the day with lush bouquets, ceremony florals and sweet yellow bouts and you can almost smell the roses and ranunculus. See every bit of lovely right here in the gallery from Ulysses Photography.

From Ulysses PhotographyThis was a romantic, lovebird-themed celebration to remember at the beautifully historic Kittle House. I think you’ll love the way her flowing greenery is echoed in her paperie. The spirit of the entire day was anchored by this energetic couple, who after cutting their gorgeous ombre wedding cake, then closed their evening with sparklers and s’mores at the fire pit. Guests went home with cookies handmade and decorated by the bride, as well as DIY cookie mix favors.

From the beautiful Bride…Getting engaged was a roller coaster of excitement. What started out as “OMG, I’m getting married!” quickly turned into “OMG!! I get to plan a wedding!!” That next day, I bought every wedding magazine I could get my hands on and made myself a Pinterest account, and the planning was in full force! I decided fairly early that I wanted the wedding to reflect me and my groom’s personalities and that I wanted to do a lot of the work myself. No wedding planner for this girl!

If I had to give my wedding vision a title, it would probably be “playfully romantic garden wedding with shabby chic accents.” I did my best to incorporate different styles to make a style of my own. My absolute favorite part of the wedding planning was the DIY projects! I’m a pastry chef, so I decided to make cookies for my place cards. I decorated each cookie with a number and bagged them with ribbon and the names of each guest. It took quite a bit of time, but it was a labor of love and I would do it again in a heartbeat. For our wedding favors, I also stuck with the baked goods theme. I filled mason jars with a decoratively layered cookie mix topped with burlap and lace. It was great hearing back from my guests in the weeks following the wedding about how their cookies came out!

The day of the wedding was absolutely magical! I had a great team of makeup artists, Jill and Jess from JKFlashy, and an amazing hair stylist, Diane of Salon Posh, who helped get me ready to walk down the aisle. The ceremony was filled with tears of joy (mostly my tears), and the party was one that I will never forget! Between the “rock your socks off” Jay Prince Band, and the bonfire and s’mores surprise at the end, I think everyone had a blast! Thank God I had such amazing photographers, Ulysses and Jenni of Ulysses Photography, to help capture the day, because it was one of the fastest days of my life. Now I get to relive it over and over again through the gorgeous photos!

Today might seem like a typical Tuesday, but I’m here to tell you it’s about to become much so more magical. Because sitting below is a collection of images from Brookelyn Photography so special words won’t do it justice. Romantic, intimate, and sprinkled with vintage charm – these two soul mates said I do in serious style, and it’s all waiting for you right here.

From The Bride…Manuel and I met through an online dating site. He first emailed me a day before I was traveling to Argentina to stay in Buenos Aires. This was a crazy twist of fate because although we were both living in New York Manuel was born and raised in Buenos Aires and his family still lives there! He didn’t move the US until he was 18. I asked him to send some tips and advice on what to do and see while I was there. He wrote back an amazing list of insider suggestions that made my trip there perfect. When I returned to New York we had our first date over tapas and sangria. We both just knew from that first date that we had found our true love.

Both Manuel and I are a bit hopelessly romantic and I really wanted our wedding to reflect that. We visited several venues but as soon as we saw the event space at the Bowery Hotel we knew it was perfect. It is an incredibly romantic space and has a really wonderful vintage feel while still being comfortable. From a lovely outdoor balcony to a cozy fireplace with antique couches, it had everything. Lush floral arrangements and vintage candlesticks completed the look. Ivy ran wild over the long tables twisting around the vases and votives.

My dress was the second one I tried on and was exactly what I wanted. I loved the slightly vintage vibe and knew it would be perfect for the venue. My mom surprised me with my something blue. She gave me a vintage bracelet with tiny blue inlaid sapphires. I borrowed her diamond earrings and I carried the handkerchief she carried at her wedding. She also made the ring pillow from pieces of her own wedding dress. I’m an illustrator, so in turn I surprised her with an illustration of me as a child wearing the Snow White costume she handmade for me. I wore that costume for about four years straight! It’s one of her favorite memories of me.

I asked my bridesmaids to pick out their own dresses and choose their own hairstyles. I wanted each of them to look like themselves. I couldn’t imagine one dress suiting them all, they all have such different styles and I didn’t want to change that! So they wore everything from Bhldn to Acne and I loved it.

I was incredibly nervous about the dancing but it ended up being one of our favorite parts of the evening. Manuel and I took dance classes and waltzed to Moon River for our first dance. The third dance was loosely choreographed. It’s a wedding tradition for Manuel’s family to include a formal waltz, which starts with the groom and his mother and slowly each member of the family joins in. It was beautiful and definitely a great way to get everyone on the dance floor!

We are both big fans of dessert so we wanted to treat our guests to an amazing dessert table. Our chocolates were done by The Frosted Petticoat and they were a huge hit. We chose the locks and keys because on the day we got engaged in Paris Manuel and I placed a lock with our initials on the Pont des Arts and threw the keys into the Seine to symbolize our love. The vintage buttons were chosen because I’m the fashion illustrator and founder of Parchment and Pixel (www.parchmentandpixel.com). The typewriters were chosen for Manuel because he is finishing his MD/PhD, which involves writing lots and lots of papers. The cake was by Momofuku because their cakes are the best! And, of course, we had to have alfajores! They are a traditional dulce de leche cookie, and Manuel’s family brought them all the way from Argentina.

The night was better than each of us could have imagined! We were surrounded by such amazing love and happiness. We love going back through the photos and have watched our video more times than we can count.

Elegant NYC Wedding at the Yale Club

Where do I begin with this beautiful, beautiful wedding. It’s a fairy tail really, with sooo many magical moments captured by Rebecca Yale Photography. I could stare at the Bride’s custom-made dress (designed by her Mother!) for days. That dress. It’s the sweeter, younger sister of Kate Middleton’s dress. And every bit of twinkly, sparkly, candlelit goodness is the pretty icing on this Yale Club affair. Get your swoon on in the gallery, lovelies!

From Rebecca Yale PhotographyChanel and Adam’s gorgeous wedding day was truly magical in every way. Not only was the day full of love and happiness, but every detail had been thoroughly thought out and planned to perfection. The classic Yale Club venue set the scene for a day of elegance and glamour. Diana Gould Ltd decked out the room in gorgeous white roses dripping in crystals and made even more romantic by the hundreds of candles scattered across the tables bathing the room in a warm yellow glow straight out of a fairy tale. The tables were named after cities the bride and groom visited together and their calligrapher Christina DellaValle created a custom drawing of the city for each table. The bride wore a stunning lace and tulle ballgown designed custom for the bride by the bride’s mother and was topped off by a sparkling head piece by Enchanted Atelier. The bride truly looked royal and while taking portraits in Central Park we were approached by many an onlooker asking if the bride and groom were celebrities!

The wedding was a real New York celebration starting of the day at the famous Plaza Hotel where the ladies got all dolled up while wearing their custom bridesmaids robes and “Chanel” t-shirts in honor of the bride’s namesake before heading off to a beautiful ceremony at the Church of our Saviour. After the couple said their I Do’s we headed north to the Central Park Conservatory Gardens for portraits in the park. The landscaped and romantic gardens were the perfect setting for photographs of their elegant black tie wedding party. The party continued over at the Yale Club where guests enjoyed champagne and hors d’ouerves on the balcony before being welcomed into the ballroom for a night of dinner and dancing.

From The Bride…I always had a vision of a secret garden ceremony, but we also both loved the idea of a city wedding. We got engaged in Madison Square Park, so getting married in one of our other favorite parks overlooking the urban landscape of midtown Manhattan with the backdrop of the New York Public Library was the absolute perfect fit. We wanted everything to have a natural feel but also be a little fun and quirky, and our amazing florist captured our vision perfectly with lush greens and blues and fun pops of coral.

One of my favorite memories of the day was our first look outside the beautiful ivy covered entrance of the Bryant Park Grill, and being completely in the moment while the bustle of the city was happening all around us. What really made our day special was having our friends and family by our side the entire time. From trying to take portraits on 5th Avenue with 9 bridesmaids and groomsmen to watching our wedding singer get tossed in the air while performing, we truly had an amazing time and we wouldn’t have changed a single thing.

Classic Old Hollywood Glamour at Highlands Country Club

Not gonna lie, I spent a fair amount of time admiring this lovely little gallery from Michelle Lange. It’s classic Old Hollywood at Highlands Country Club, sprinkled with just the right amount of glitz and glam. From the Bride’s perfectly hot pink lip, to the gilded stationery (oh how I love the stationery) and hints of champagne throughout, it’s the kind of wedding that makes every guest feel fabulous. Take a peek right here for so much more!

[iframe http://player.vimeo.com/video/101982706 600 338]

From the beautiful Bride…Our wedding was inspired by classic, Old Hollywood glamour. Keeping it classic was important to us, because we wanted the feel of an elegant, black tie affair. However, I love a little glitz and glam so we tried to inject hints of this wherever possible. We kept our color palette simple and light, inspired by summer with ivories, pinks and blushes. We also chose to utilize pops of metallic gold to bring on the luxe-factor. I love the gold foil detailing on our invitations, for example.

Our venue, the Highlands Country Club, was the perfect fit for us because the gorgeous architecture, columned veranda and ballroom with the most beautiful chandelier we’ve ever seen, definitely brought the black tie atmosphere while also maintaining a sense of home, since we were able wander and use all parts of the property – as if our guests were at the most grandiose house party they’ve ever attended! We added so many special touches and DIY projects to make the space our own. I bought the champagne-colored sequin table linens on Etsy and they were one of my favorite touches because they really brought the ballroom to life. We also custom designed and created many of the wedding day details: our programs, our petal toss bags, our table numbers and all of the signage used throughout the venue. One of our favorite projects was the décor used in our ceremony tree. We strung crystals, glass votive lanterns, which held lit candles, and blush carnations from fishing line, all of which was strung so beautifully throughout the tree branches. We are also very proud of our favors, which doubled as our escort cards. Together with our families, we made and bottled limoncello and attached guests’ escort cards to the bottles. We are both Italian-American, and have spent lots of time living and traveling in Italy, so this was a special touch for us.

Our favorite wedding day memory is our first dance. We were nervous about dancing in front of an audience so we practiced some super simple choreography beforehand. While practicing we kept messing up, stepping on each other’s toes and we were nervous it wouldn’t be right on the day of! Plus, we were worried that Sal would step on my dress. When the time came, the dance went off without a hitch and we had a standing ovation from all of our guests! Our photographer snapped the most amazing photo of the dip and kiss and the end of the dance, which is one of our favorite photos from the whole wedding. Overall, everything went as planned and the day was more beautiful than we could have ever hoped.

Snowy Winter Central Park Vow Renewal

Call me crazy, but I am itching to see those first few snowflakes drop from the sky. The cold, weightless flutter of fluffy little ice crystals makes time feel as if it’s standing still and all is at peace. It’s kind of the perfect setting for a vow renewal if you think about it. That’s exactly what this lovely little family (how cute are they?!) did, all bundled up in Central Park on a wintry day. Archetype Studio tagged along and we’re so glad they did.

From Koby & Terilyn Brown ArchetypeGlade Arch was constructed in 1862, it originally carried carriage traffic to Fifth Avenue. A fitting testament to longevity, this arch was chosen by Katherine and Chris as the perfect place to renew their marriage vows and celebrate their love. The maid and man of honor were their two precious children. New York has always held a special place in this couple’s hearts and I loved that they chose to write their vows on vintage postcards showcasing their two favorite landmarks. I’m also completely smitten with Katherine’s choice of a pale gray wool coat and the pretty pop of color in the bouquet! A perfect snowy day in Central Park filled with beautiful wintery light made a gorgeous backdrop for this sweet celebration!
