Bohemian Elegance for a Brooklyn Wedding

When the Bride’s dress is named the “Cleopatra” and features elegant, draped beading at the back and a romantic, flowing skirt, you know she is going to look unique, strong, and beautiful. And the goodness doesn’t stop there! This Brooklyn wedding photographed by READYLUCK, epitomizing bohemian elegance with details from the warm color palette to the assortment of lanterns, can’t be missed!

From the Bride… Before we ever started the planning process, we shared the vision that we wanted our wedding to be an event that would bring our friends and family together to eat delicious food, dance to great music, and celebrate love in all its many forms. We couldn’t have been happier with the end result!

My dress was “Cleopatra” by Amanda Wakeley – I knew I wanted something totally different, and I felt beautiful and strong in it. I wore a bracelet custom designed to match the dress, and my mother added extra beading from the dress to my grandmother’s brooch pin, which I wore in my hair. Steve wore a Hugo Boss tux with a custom shirt by Martin Greenfield Clothiers of Brooklyn, New York, and a gold wedding band by Rebecca Overmann.

We co-created our ceremony with our lovely officiant, Deborah Roth, who helped us weave together customs that were meaningful and genuine to us. We placed a “wishing stone” on each guest’s seat prior to the ceremony and had our friends and family imbue them with good wishes during the ceremony; they are all in a vase in our home now. Our favorite crafted detail was four scarves, one from each of our mothers and maternal grandmothers, woven together and used to bind our hands in an infinity circle for the handfasting part of our ceremony – one of the world’s oldest wedding customs and the likely origin of the term “tying the knot”! It was such a powerful way to honor the strong women in our lives who helped teach us how to love.

Because Liberty Warehouse provides such a beautiful blank slate, we wanted colors that would really pop off the tables and walls. We decided on a mix of greens and jewel tones that would be bright and colorful while also being warm and inviting. One of my best friends made our cake – an ode to our childhood days of making sweet treats together. All of the decor, flowers, and details were orchestrated by the talented Konstantinos Floral Design and Decor Group, who executed this organic, bohemian vibe that had the room dripping in flowers and lanterns. We had a table with pictures of our grandparents as a nod to “our beginning.” Pegasus Productions designed the lighting, including the outdoor ceremony area, which then become a lounge area for guests during the reception.

Our favorite DIY project was a mural of letters and cards that we constructed for the cocktail area. Three months into our relationship, I moved 3,000 miles across the country for a year and a half, and because of this we accumulated quite the collection of notes and letters. Along with some cards from close family and friends, we decided to display these on a beautiful wooden door that we found in a local Astoria recycling warehouse.

Our favors were also a special “NY” DIY project. We knew our reception would go late into the night (a pizza truck showed up at 1:00am), so we decided to send guests home with breakfast – a brown paper bag with two bagels from our beloved Brooklyn Bagel (cream cheese and plastic knife included), honey sticks, and a choice of our three favorite teas from our local tea shop, Tea & Milk. Guests told us this absolutely saved them from hangovers!

There were so many incredible moments – probably the most memorable, though, was the last dance to “I Will Wait” by Mumford and Sons, a song that had special meaning to us. Marcus Reid Band of Hank Lane Entertainment played an incredible version of the song that had us and every one of our guests wildly jumping up, throwing our hands in the air, and singing along to the chorus! It was such an amazing end to an evening of seriously some of the best music we’ve ever heard.

One piece of advice that I would give Brides-to-be is to focus on the big picture – for the night of and in the larger scheme. It’s easy to get stressed by the details and decisions, but ultimately you and your guests may not even notice small details. Your guests will however feel the vibe and tone that you set. Staying focused on the message about yourselves and your values will absolutely translate to your friends and family.

The Perfect LBD for a NYC Engagement

You would never know by the photos captured by Mekina Saylor Weddings that it was a mere 35 degrees outside the day of this cute couple’s engagement photos in Central Park. The pair look insanely chic (hello, LBD of our dreams!) and oh-so in love, so scroll on to see all the gorgeousness!

From the Mekina Saylor WeddingsAli and Ryan’s romance blossomed in New York City, and that is where they’ll begin their happily ever after. We went to Central Park for their engagement session. We roamed around, being all kinds of fancy in Ali’s little black dress from Revolve. These two couldn’t be any cuter while dancing around the Bethesda Terrace and non-stop smiling at one another.

From the Bride-to-be… Ryan and I met through our mutual friend, Maggie, while in college. Labor Day Weekend of 2010, Maggie invited me to Ryan’s house in Avalon, New Jersey, where we enjoyed a weekend as friends, leaving the beach not knowing when we would see each other again. Ryan, a New Yorker since graduating Columbia in 2010, worked in the city while I started my post-college years working in my hometown of Scranton, Pennsylvania. As time went on, I got a job offer and moved to New York City in September 2012. On that following fateful Valentine’s Day, I went to a bar with my friends and ran into Ryan. I definitely believe in “serendipity,” so I knew we were meant to meet that night. We said our hellos and how good it was to see each other. Two weeks later, Ryan texted me, and we went on our first “real” date. The rest is history!

You could never tell that it was 35 degrees outside the day of our engagement photos, thanks to our amazing photographer, Mekina! This upcoming October we will be celebrating our marriage at a candlelit mass followed by dinner and dancing with our closest family and friends. I can’t wait!

This Brooklyn Wedding Was Planned From the Other Side of the World

Planning your wedding from the other side of the world might sound stressful, but this laid-back Bride and Groom took it in stride! With the help of Rock Paper Scissors Events, they created a relaxed, intimate Brooklyn celebration all the way from Australia – they didn’t even step foot in their venue until the week of the wedding! Jennifer Pauls, a sweet friend of the couple,  captured the fun-filled and joyous day, which you can see more of in the Vault.

From Rock Paper Scissors EventsWhen we asked the couple to describe the feel of their ideal wedding, they said relaxed, warm, and intimate. Those ended up being the perfect adjectives to describe this Brooklyn wedding, held at Frankis Spuntino, the closest place locals have to a “backyard.”

Jaime and Rich actually planned their wedding all the way from Australia (the Bride is American and the Groom is Australian) and had never seen the wedding venue in person until they arrived for their wedding week. They told us a great story about why they chose it: “We chose this venue because we have seen ‘Being Frank’ on VICE, and we love the Franks’ passion for genuine, authentic food and the emphasis on family style meals surrounded by people you love.”

Jaime and Rich wanted a wedding that was all heart, with great food and close friends in an unpretentious, comfortable atmosphere. You’ll notice that the Groom wasn’t wearing a suit, and there was no wedding party in matching outfits. The amazing photos were taken by a friend. The whole wedding has this fun, authentic, naturally joyful vibe that radiates from the pictures.

A lot of Brides can learn from Jaime to focus on what is really important – you can create a wedding that is full of meaning without the stress of superficial details. Jaime and Rich brought us in to help create their vision of a gorgeous, natural, laid back design for their wedding day. They were a dream to work with and as laid back, fun and happy as their photos suggest.

See How this Couple Included the Brooklyn Bridge in their Big Day

A pretty detail can inspire a whole event, but nothing like a good love story sparks a smile and reminds us why this little ol’ blog keeps us coming back on the daily. Case in point? This sweet tale of a couple brought together by the Brooklyn Bridge, which in turn inspired their Big Day. Valerie Barnes Film captured it all beautifully and don’t miss the Bride’s full story below!

[iframe http://player.vimeo.com/video/208051724 600 338]

From the Bride… I think our priest says it best: Vincent and I are cut from the same fabric, just different ends. When we were dating, Vincent had to drive many, many times from his home in New Jersey, over the Brooklyn Bridge (often sitting in traffic), to my home in Brooklyn. So when it came time for planning our wedding, we thought that the Brooklyn Bridge needed to be a part of it somehow.

We were each raised in traditional, Italian families, where our family gatherings and weddings pretty much all take place the same few catering halls. The thought of doing something different and gasp, a Manhattan wedding, seemed out of the question, and the budget. Luckily, I have an event production background and Vincent is a whiz at crunching numbers.

In my obsession with New York City architecture, I learned of the Surrogate’s Courthouse, which is a familiar building in a very obvious location right over the Brooklyn Bridge at 31 Chambers Street in Manhattan that many New Yorkers, including myself, have passed by thousands of times without knowing its history or its breathtaking interior. To me, finding something unknown in a city so populated, where everything has already been discovered, makes the hidden gems that much more special.

As the NYC.gov site describes, the Surrogates’ Courthouse, built in 1899-1907, is a New York City Landmark, originally designed for use as a Hall of Records, it’s original name. It’s considered a major example of the early twentieth century City Beautiful movement. The idea behind the “City Beautiful” movement was to transform cities with spectacular, imposing classical buildings and monuments to provide an uplifting experience for the community. That description fit perfectly for what Vincent and I wanted our wedding guests to experience.

Because the Surrogate’s Courthouse is used for local government events and corporate holiday parties, they were less thrilled about hosting 300 of our closest family members but we somehow convinced them to agree to our big fat Italian wedding. I later learned that the Surrogate’s Courthouse was often used for filming Law & Order, which is Vincent’s favorite TV show. Once I told him about that, there was no turning back. I just needed to find a caterer that was up for the challenge of working in a completely raw space with no kitchen on-site.

In our culture, food is everything. I met with several caterers but didn’t find the right fit. So, I returned to my roots in Brooklyn and connected with Gargiulo’s, an old-school Italian restaurant, a Coney Island institution circa 1907. They do not typically agree to off-premise events but they were so interested in our story and the venue, that they fell in love with our idea and signed up for mission impossible. Gargiulo’s was amazing to work with and created such an elegant experience from the catering, tuxedoed wait staff, full bar service, furniture, to the candle centerpieces, that our guests thought that the Surrogate’s Courthouse was a restaurant.

The venue’s marble covered interior and ornate design did not need additional décor elements and I knew that I simply wanted to enhance its existing beauty through lighting. Funktion DJ designed and produced the lighting throughout the space and DJ Vitale, who grew up in the same neighborhood as me, and is the most talented and reliable DJ I know, ensured that our guests enjoyed a memorable dance party all night long.

Valerie Barnes artistic eye captured it all on film and most of the time, I forgot she was even there, and that is the highest compliment. Our wedding film speaks for itself. Our photographer, Nick Gagliano at Studio Uno, captured the surrounding architecture and special moments throughout the night.

Days after our wedding, the Surrogate’s Courthouse will be indefinitely closed for renovations. Our wedding was the last event there which makes our memory of that night feel like it’s frozen in time.

Chic NYC Wedding With Skyline Views + Lace Jumpsuit

This couple wanted an unconventional reception with views of the New York City skyline to celebrate after their City Hall nuptials, and Ang Weddings and Events sure did deliver! The Central Park Zoo was the perfect location for their vision, offering the guests a chance to explore and mingle with the animals. From the Bride’s chic DVF jumpsuit to a Batman inspired cake topper, Moss + Isaac Photography captured the details of day, and we have them all waiting for you here.

From Ang Weddings and EventsCarly and Xavier had their marriage ceremony at City Hall and threw a fantastic reception at the Central Park Zoo to celebrate with their closest friends and family. Before everyone arrived, we arranged for a photo session for the couple at the Zoo and around Central Park. Carly looked so chic in her DVF white lace and sequin jumpsuit and her bouquet of striking peonies.

Guests were welcomed to the Zoo with cocktails around the sea lion pool, watching April the sea lion swimming and playing in the water. The tropics zone and the penguin and seabird building were also open during cocktail hour, so everyone had the opportunity to explore. We brought in a New Orleans jazz band that played some of their favorite tunes. Creative Edge served New Orleans Hurricanes and a Bloody Marys as their signature drinks.

Dinner took place under a tent, which was decorated with what seemed like a million hanging lights and touches of greenery. To create some dimension, we combined round tables with some long tables at an angle to the length of the tent. I loved the black escort cards and menus against the crisp white linens and the beautiful black vases that Verde sourced for the long tables. The flowers were lush and soft, evoking a garden like atmosphere perfect for an outdoor reception. For dinner, guests enjoyed grilled peach and burrata followed by pan seared bass or beef tenderloin wellington. Xavier, being French, had to have a cheese course, so Creative Edge provided a beautiful table of a selection of cheeses for guests to enjoy. The simply elegant cake by Nine Cakes was adorned with an adorable cake topper of batman and batgirl getting married, one of the costumes that Carly and Xavier had dressed up in for halloween one year! We also passed around mini desserts, banana split drumsticks, boozy milkshakes, strawberry whoopie pies, and chewy chocolate caramel tartlets. Being lovers of chocolate, their favors were two dark chocolate truffles from La Maison du Chocolat.

The Central Park Zoo was the perfect space for a couple that wanted something different and unconventional. Carly and Xavier wanted to have their reception outside and ideally with a view of the New York City skyline. This was no easy feat to find a location in Manhattan large enough for their guest list, but we found it at the zoo, and it was perfect! I will always remember that gorgeous spring evening with guests eating and drinking around the sea lion pool and the dramatic view of the Central Park South skyline.

A Celebration of Life + Health at This Glam NYC Nuptial

This Bride and Groom had something extra special to celebrate at their prohibition-era New York City inspired wedding – the Bride had recently received a clean bill of health! After she had been diagnosed with a rare auto immune disorder, these two grew even closer together as they fought for her recovery and for their future life together. Their wedding is as beautiful as their story, thanks to the amazing work of Curtain Up Events, SB BeautyAnthony Brownie Flowers + Events, and so many other amazing vendors, and you can see the whole celebration through the lens of Karen Hill Photography.

From the Bride… Cooper and I met and fell in love immediately. We got engaged at age 24 within a year of meeting. There has never been a clearer decision in either of our lives. But two months later, I went to the doctor for what we would later discover was auto immune encephalitis. My immune system was attacking my brain, at first causing mood swings of anger and crying, and eventually causing loss of speech ability, loss of motor control, and seizures. Cooper defended me to doctors who thought I was being hysterical, and he acted as my interpreter when I could no longer express myself. Even when doctors didn’t know how to diagnose me and said they couldn’t help us, Cooper never lost faith that we could make me better. He gave me the strength to go on when my brain was armed against me.

After landing in the hospital in front of the right doctors (thanks to Cooper’s mom reading a book, “Brain on Fire,” about a woman who went through the same thing), the same doctors in the book diagnosed me and started me on treatment. I was injected with other people’s immune systems, intravenous immunoglobulin. A science miracle was worked, and now I’m 100% healthy.

Cooper and I know each other so much more deeply and could not wait to get married. We are so thrilled and grateful! Our wedding was held at 632 on Hudson, an extraordinary venue! Following the ceremony was an extended cocktail hour. We wanted our wedding to be timeless, organic, playful in moments, and always full of love and joy. Our colors were midnight blue and gold, inspired by a portrait on the atrium ceiling. Our bridesmaids wore earthy metallics and blush. Our flowers were burgundy, red, blush, and green. We went for a loose prohibition era, New York vibe!

Timeless NYC Ballroom Wedding

As one of the pros behind Intrigue Design and Decor, you better believe this bride was prepared for just about anything on her wedding day. Including a complete dress malfunction that required an emergency trip to the Garment District only minutes before the ceremony. Luckily, the rest of the day unfolded just as she’d envisioned thanks to the incredible Claire Duran working behind the scenes, and we’ve got every photo from Kenzie Victory waiting right here.

From the Bride… As the leader of the business side of Intrigue Design and Decor, I have been spoiled by witnessing countless weddings with decadent flowers and romantic decor. When it came time to plan my own wedding, I felt paralyzed. How would I compete with all of the breathtaking weddings that I have seen brought to life over the years?

After weeks of touring venues in my hometown of Washington, DC, I received crushing news. The temple that I had dreamt of getting married in since the time I was a little girl was preparing for renovations and would be closed the entire month of my wedding. Being sealed in the temple on my wedding day was vital, which meant I needed to find a new venue near the closest temple to us, bringing us to Manhattan. Finding just the right venue in New York City seemed like a daunting task; however, it ended up being easier than I could have ever hoped.

I drove to the city accompanied by my mom and best friend with a 2-day schedule packed with tours and meetings. First on our list was the J.W. Marriott Essex House. Upon arrival, we immediately felt welcomed as the doorman opened our car door and signaled his hand towards the entrance. We stepped through revolving doors and into a well-appointed lobby, complete with the most beautiful floral displays. Beyond the florals stood a tall, smiling gentleman that seemed all too familiar. He walked towards us, shook my hand and introduced himself as “Jason.” The next hour felt like a dream as Jason walked us through the Petite Salon, the Grande Ballroom and up elevators adorned with the most beautiful metal work. It was everything I had been looking for and Jason’s helpful demeanor and expertise was just what I needed to successfully pull off a destination wedding in this massive city.

The dress was the easy part. I called my friend and designer Sohil, creator of Enaura Gowns, and he crafted a custom dress with impeccable detail for me on my wedding day. The entire bodice was adorned with hand beading that traveled down the tulle skirt and across the sheer sleeves with a series of fluttering fabric flowers. The cathedral veil, equally as grand, emulated the detail of the gown with a series florets and subtle sparkle.

With so much experience in the wedding industry, you would imagine that finding a photographer should be a no brainer. However, the last thing I wanted to do was ask one of my photographer friends to work my wedding rather than be a guest. So, I began doing what most millennial brides tend to do and scoured Instagram, eventually falling for the feed of @KenzieVictory. Her images were soft and natural and instantly appealing. With this crucial piece in place, the wedding planning was almost complete.

Of course, every great wedding needs a great planner/stylist. So, we brought Claire Duran Events up to make sure all the details were in place, that the images were styled and that each of the day’s details unfolded precisely according to plan.

The Wedding Day

When the big day arrived, I felt giddy with excitement. After so much planning and coordination, all that was left to do was enjoy the day. I remember waking up feeling full of anticipation. Dressed in a silk robe, I gathered with my bridesmaids and the pampering ensued. It was a splendid morning with freshly squeezed orange juice, New York bagels and delicious fruit. Then the moment came to get dressed and meet my groom for our “first look.”

I stepped away feeling excited. Today was the day. Today I was marrying the love of my life. When I went to unveil my dress, I immediately knew something was wrong.

It was at that moment that the advice my sister-in-law gave me kicked into place. Two weeks prior to the wedding, Melanie quietly sat me down and counseled, “Ten things will go wrong on your wedding day. If you prepare for that, you won’t be anxious. When the first thing happens, start counting.”

The room froze. Everyone looked at me in disbelief. My custom Enaura Bridal gown went from being a dream come true to completely unusable. The zipper had become unhinged to the dress, creating a massive hole in the back. Panic filled the room, yet I remained calm. I counted one.

It felt like a scene from a hospital, people were on the phone, running around and panicking trying to figure out the next move. Amidst all the commotion, I remained calm and steady. My family and friends looked at me in utter disbelief. Meeting my soon-to-be husband in time for our “first look” was out of the question, and with my temple sealing quickly approaching I had to think fast.

Having a wedding in New York City has its advantages. After a few phone calls, I was able to reach my friend Sohil, the designer/owner of Enaura Bridal. I explained to him my situation and he immediately told me to meet him at his studio in the garment district. Along with both my photographer and videographer, we hopped into a cab and made our way towards the studio. Upon arrival, Sohil worked tirelessly to have my dress completed in time. With no time to waste, I headed back to the Essex house just in time to respond to a very confused groom. While I had been dealing with the dress, he had been patiently waiting in Central Park for my arrival. After some much-needed explaining, we took a moment to laugh and express how much we loved each other.

The time is now 12:00. With our temple sealing at 1pm, I had to quickly make my way to the Manhattan, New York Latter-Day Saint Temple. Together with our families and in one of the holiest places on earth, we were married for time and all eternity. We promised to always stand by each others sides in what was one of the most beautiful ceremonies imaginable. After the ceremony ended, my gown was waiting for me in the bridal suite. It was then that I was able to share a beautiful, uninterrupted moment with my mother as I finally put on my wedding gown.

As the day unfolded, each detail flowed beautifully into the next with surprises at every corner. While taking our formal pictures at Bethesda Terrace in Central Park, my groom surprised me with a small group of local NYC talent performing the most beautiful rendition of John Legend’s All of Me My heart was overwhelmed by his thoughtfulness and kindness.

As we made our way to the ballroom, my heart was racing. I couldn’t wait to view the masterpiece that Intrigue Design and Decor had designed. As I walked in, I was speechless. Blooms adorned every table and place setting. Lush, grand centerpieces welcomed me as I glided through the ballroom. It was a room meant for a princess. The doors were then opened to the ceremony space were I was greeted with the most stunning flower wall. Roses and moss spiraled into the most whimsical design you could possibly imagine.

What a day to remember, family and friends traveled from near and far to celebrate our love and marriage. The night, thanks to Jason, went without a hitch. From the dancing to the toasts, every moment was perfect. Entertainment by On The Move was spectacular. We couldn’t have asked for a better fusion between DJ and band. Together with On The Move, my two brothers and father sang our first song. It was a moment I’ll never forget. To be dancing with my groom, while the other three most important men in my life sang to us, was enough to bring me to tears.

As the night drew to a close, the master of ceremonies announced that there was one surprise left. I was completely shocked as I looked towards my groom, just standing there with a grin. As I was lead out the ballroom with my family following close behind, we made our way to the entrance of the hotel. Waiting out front was a vintage yellow cab for Morgan and I. I could barely contain my excitement. After so many surprises all day long, he seemed somehow to top it all off with the greatest of them all. The people cheered, our families may have cried, but as we drove away into a new chapter in our lives, I knew one thing – September 6, 2016, was the best day of my life.

This Is Why We Love At Home Engagement Shoots

Meeting the second time around might have been the charm for these two but there’s absolutely no delay in sensing the love between them now. Alicia Swedenborg captured their love as bright and beautiful as can be in their Greenwich Village home and once again, we have an engagement shoot that makes us completely obsessed with at home sessions! See all the reasons why in our Vault right this way!

From Alicia SwedenborgAli and Sammi met (twice) in the fall of 2013, when they were both students at NYU Law School. Their first meeting took place at an event at the Stonewall Inn, hosted by the law school’s LGBT student group, aptly named “OUTLaw”, where, according to Ali, her very obvious romantic advances were rebuffed, and according to (apparently oblivious) Sammi, a cute girl with a cool haircut was trying to make friends with her. When the ladies rendez-vous’d a second time (at – where else? – a school dance), thanks to the help of some mutual friends, the sparks were much more obvious. Sammi proposed first, just over two years later, while bringing Ali her weekly Saturday morning coffee in bed, and Ali returned the favor a week later, popping the question at the Met, in front of a gorgeous wall of windows looking out onto Central Park.

The couple, now both lawyers, live together in Greenwich Village, and wanted an engagement shoot that captured the spirit of the neighborhood where they live and where they fell in love. With the help of photographer Alicia Swedenborg, the ladies were able to realize their vision of a cozy downtown NYC winter wonderland shoot.

We Found the Ultimate New York City Wedding

Every now and then a wedding comes across your desk that stops you dead in your tracks. I call them the weddings with the trifecta of pretty – beautiful photography, fresh design moments, and a bride and groom whose love practically leaps off the page. The incredible Heather Waraksa and ever swoon joined forces for this Manhattan affair and the result is ALL of the above. Scroll on for taxi cab place cards, cronut favors, and don’t miss the sweet words written by the groom.

From the Groom… Arielle and I got engaged at the Plaza Hotel under the guise of a very over the top staycation. Having grown up in New York, I felt like it was only appropriate for our engagement and later our wedding to touch upon iconic New York if possible. I had the hotel set up our room to include champagne and originally had asked the concierge to just throw a few flowers about the room (nothing spelled out or anything) as I continued to think that the proposal part would be a surprise for Arielle (I should have realized that how do you sell the woman you are dating that a staycation at The Plaza hotel after dating for years wouldn’t have something more to it!) We walk into the room and spelled out on the bed is “I ❤️ u” in rose petals…well if I thought there was any surprise left, I immediately got down on one knee and asked her to marry me!

When we started to look for our wedding venue, that same New York sentiment kept playing in our heads. We looked at quite a few venues that definitely had that New York vibe but once we saw the rooftop where we would hold the ceremony at TriBeCa Rooftop, we knew it was the spot for us. Now as you can imagine, the rooftop is located in TriBeCa, and it has the most amazing view of New York in both directions. To the south, there is a backdrop of One World Trade Center and to the north the Empire State Building. The idea of getting married while surrounded by the entire New York skyline at sunset was all we needed.

From there, we put everything else together with a similar theme – from our invitations, which was a custom watercolor drawing of the street we live on in Greenwich Village, to the taxi cab place card holders. We decided that as our last piece to the wedding, we had to have Dominique Ansel Cronuts (a cross between a croissant and a donut, for which people usually wait on line for hours to get!) at our wedding as we love Dominique Ansel and thought that it would be a super fun NYC gift to all of our guests who most likely would never be able to get one otherwise. Arielle was so intent on making this happen, that while at his store in the West Village she wrote him a note on the back of a receipt begging to find a way to have 250 fresh cronuts at TriBeCa Rooftop on the day of our wedding. To our amazement, the store manager came over and told us that it would be their honor and the rest was history!

Arielle wanted to add a serious fall vibe to our fall wedding and with the help of Amy Febinger of Bourgeon picked out an entire scheme to decorate the wedding. The evening started with cream and peach hued flowers that made up the chuppah at the ceremony. Beautiful hand-made copper silks tied all of the bouquets together matching the copper lanterns lining the aisle. As we got ready to hold the ceremony, the skyline was set afire by the light from the setting sun over the Hudson River to our west. Simon and Garfunkel started playing and we were ready to take our stroll down the aisle.

As most people who have been a bride or groom will tell you, the wedding goes by incredibly fast. Like lightning fast. A week or two before the wedding, we had both been told this numerous times and given advice like “make sure you don’t miss it while caught up in everything”. After hearing this enough times, we made sure in the middle of the wedding while everyone was out on the dance floor to sneak away for just two minutes and to have it all by ourselves. We snuck up the stairs to the balcony overlooking the entire venue and sat just the two of us watching. I remember soaking in the music and watching all of our friends dancing, noticing where all of our family members were scattered about the room. It was the first moment all night that we felt like we really had to ourselves to hold hands, to actually take a moment and to see everyone who was there even if it was from a distance. I am so glad I actually listened as its the clearest memory of the entire whirlwind of a night.

This Couple Pulled Off the Biggest Ever Surprise on Their Wedding Day

Surprise! We’re getting married!…. Now that is the makings of a fabulous celebration. For a Bride and Groom who wanted to keep things fun and low-stress, they decided a wedding day disguised as an engagement celebration at a local eatery would be perfect for their intimate New York City nuptials. And with the help of Designs by Ahn, Haven’s Kitchen and Cynthia Chung, it went off without a hitch.

From the Photographer… I was so excited when William and Ellen reached out to me about having a SURPRISE wedding! Our first surprise of the day was that it was SNOWING when we woke up that morning!! But that didn’t stop us! It actually made our outdoor portraits around NYC even better. We made our way around the West Village and then to Chelsea- some in the snow, some in neighborhood cafes- then even ended up in the super crowded, Chelsea Market. The intimate ceremony with family was held at Haven’s Kitchen. Then following the ceremony, guests began arriving for the big surprise! All the guests thought they were attending the bride & groom’s “engagement party” but instead was greeted with a beautifully dressed up bride and groom exclaiming, “we got married!” It was so fun to see everyone’s expressions and shocked reactions. It really was a one-of-a kind experience and I loved every minute of it!

From the Bride… We wanted everything about the wedding to be low stress. We decided on our wedding date with three months to plan and we had no time to procrastinate. Luckily we landed the most wonderful vendors who were lifesavers – for all the details that we didn’t feel strongly about, they were on hand to put their creative spin on our day.

Why did we want a surprise wedding? We’re both easygoing people who don’t really like being center of attention. In a twist from the traditional wedding format, we decided to get married in an intimate ceremony and then surprise our guests with our wedding celebration, disguised as our engagement party. It felt so unconventional and so right for us from the moment we settled on that decision. We told everyone that William’s parents were coming to town and that was why we were doing a fancier-than-normal engagement party. We hated deceiving our friends but their surprised faces were SO worth it. We wanted the wedding to reflect our personalities and our relationship.

It was pretty important that we got married in New York because this was the place where we met and fell in love. Just before we got engaged, I had come across a story about a couple in Toronto who got surprised married at the bride’s surprise 30th birthday. I couldn’t get it out of my head and William was just nutty enough to entertain the idea. We wanted a space that was unconventional but not too trendy, simple; but not too DIY. Haven’s Kitchen is cozy and personable and just like being home, but much more tastefully decorated.

I had trouble connecting with a calligrapher prior to the wedding so I decided to create my own. I had been teaching myself calligraphy for months and I got to put it to use creating the large signs that welcomed our guests to our surprise wedding. It was a fun project to take my mind off all my final projects from school but because we had huge signs all around our apartment, we couldn’t have anyone over for fear of blowing our secret.

It was so, so wonderful to involve all the important people in our lives in our ceremony. My best friend and would-have-been maid of honor registered as a Universal Life Minister so that she could marry us. William’s brother stood up with us to translate the ceremony for our parents. William’s sister, a professional pianist, recorded the processional music. And Ellen’s brother facilitated the ring warming ceremony in which our 15 ceremony guests blessed our rings and our marriage. To have everyone play a part in the act of marrying us was so meaningful to us. To include everyone in the family who couldn’t make it, we displayed photos of our nephews in the back of the room, and we also included our parents’ wedding pictures, to give us good jujus on our big day. The day before our wedding, William’s parents celebrated their 40th wedding anniversary and my parents celebrated their 30th wedding anniversary earlier in the year.

Gorgeous Florals to Inspire the Prettiest Spring Wedding

If you ask us, Spring florals are at the tippy top of our Prettiest Things EVER list. They never, ever disappoint and when infused into a wedding day, it truly makes for a celebration worthy of all the oohs and aahs. From delicate pastels, to floral appliqué wedding dresses and an elegant, subdued tablescape, see how Laura Remmert Events + Denise Fasanello Floral Design + Face Time Beauty and the lovely Judy Pak transformed this shoot into a Spring wonderland sure to inspire.

From the caterer … I don’t know about you, but when I think Spring, I think of flowers. They represent new life, a fresh start, and of course warm weather. That said, why should the florist get to have all the fun?! We wanted to incorporate the blooms of Springtime in the catering piece as well – this means a Spring Melon Mosaic with edible blossoms like Micro Lovage, Borage, and Sunflower Sprouts. We also wanted to subtly mirror the centerpiece with our paper goods, so we built a whimsical floral border out of the amazing digital catalog offered by the New York Public Library.

From the coordinator/designer… We wanted to create a table for a fresh, young, stylish bride who likes a mix of casual and formal elements. Wave Hill is the perfect venue for a springtime wedding in an amazing garden that feels miles away from NYC even though it’s technically still NYC. We wanted our table to feel as though we brought the garden inside. We created this table design by mixing lots of different textures. Our base was an exquisite ivory lace table linen with beautiful detailing. We then played around with a variety of textures for the place settings, dark brown rattan chargers made the white textured feminine dinner and salad plates pop. We mixed modern stemless glassware with a vintage inspired water glass. One of my favorite elements is the unexpected blue and white toille napkin wrapped around the salad plate. We completed the table with floral inspired menu cards, place cards and table numbers.

From the Florist/event designer… The florals for this table were inspired by a gorgeous Valentino dress Alexa Chung wore at an event recently with beautiful floral embroidery. Pretty and feminine. Much of my inspiration also came from the gardens at Wave Hill, the Wild Garden in the Spring and Summer features so many colors and textures and varieties of flowers. For this piece, I wanted to work with a lot of tiny flowers such as muscari, pansies, lupine and tiny spray roses as well as and unexpected elements such as fiddlehead ferns and spirea. Lots of variety and texture, just like a wild garden. We wanted fresh and vibrant!

Happily Ever After for a Couple Who Met When They Were One

This story starts long ago when the paths of two 1 year olds crossed in a fated Gymboree class. Fast forward to today and those toddlers are now husband and wife. If that isn’t the cutest story ever, then I don’t know what is. See how these two said I Do in a chic New York City wedding held at the gorgeous Bowery Hotel with planning by Loli Events, florals by Peartree and all captured by one of our faves, Trent Bailey. See the full affair right here.

Born in the same hospital three weeks apart, Mira and Matt met for the first time at the age of one year old in a Gymboree class. They attended elementary and middle school together in lower Manhattan, but lost touch in high school. They were reunited when they both attended college at Stanford University, and quickly became close friends. Matt and Mira did not actually begin to date until nine years later, however, when they shared their first kiss outside their elementary school.

Having both grown up in downtown Manhattan, we loved the idea of finding a venue in the same neighborhood. The event space at the Bowery hotel was perfect for a December wedding, with lots of wood, exposed brick, and a working fireplace.

Mira’s dress was not technically a “wedding” dress, but rather a while evening gown by Stella McCartney. The dress was stark white silk crepe, with long sleeves, structured shoulders, an open back, and a train. Mira’s every day style is crisp and not overly-feminine, and she knew her wedding dress would not involve tulle, lace, or much volume. She hoped to find a structured white gown and fell in love with the Stella McCartney gown when she caught sight of it online. It was the first dress she tried on and she bought it the same day.

Our décor was inspired by winter and the holidays. The Bowery Hotel is already a warm and inviting space with lots of reds and dark woods, so we chose to emphasize whites and greens with touches of grey and silver. Olive branches, cool white flowers, mercury class, mirrored signs, and lots of candlelight helped to pull our vision together.

Striking Shades of Berry for an Urban Autumn Wedding

Color palettes full of soft hues and neutrals have taken over the wedding scene in the past few years. And while beautiful in every way, this day rich with vivid jewel tones feels like such a breath of fresh air. No surprise, the vendors behind it include some of our favorite people like Bella FiguraFace Time BeautyGabriella New York and Jarrell Entertainment, just to name a few. From the bride… Mark proposed on a beautiful spring day inside Gramercy Park, the only private park in Manhattan that actually requires a key to get in! We live down the street but had never been inside until Mark creatively secured a key for the big question.

We knew we wanted our wedding to be an intimate affair for our closest friends and family, ideally close to home. The Gramercy Park Hotel was undeniably the perfect choice. The historic hotel is classic New York while also being stylish and unique. Mark and I can see the magical glowing lights inside the GPH’s rooftop terrace from our apartment window, and we had always imagined what it would be like to have our wedding there. Getting married in our neighborhood allowed us to share the part of New York that we love so much with our friends and family.

The venue was an urban garden rooftop with views of the NYC skyline. I was inspired by the rich colors and fabrics of the hotel’s decor. We picked a date in late November and I immediately had a vision of dark burgundy, lavender and ivory flowers to complement the lush greenery of the terrace. Our floral designer, Denise Fasanello, made this come to life with organic arrangements of peonies, garden roses, and anemones. To make the setting even more romantic, she added long tapered candles to enhance the lanterns, votives and fairy lights that were already strewn throughout the venue.

I found my dress during my first and only shopping trip at a trunk show at Gabriella New York! The warm ivory color was perfect for fall and the hand-sewn 3D floral detailing was on trend and suited to the aesthetic of the ivy-wrapped terrace. My search for shoes took much longer but once I discovered this pair of velvet burgundy Gianvito Rossi heels, I knew they were mine.

We added personal touches that were meaningful to us, including our family’s adorable Boston terrier in our wedding photos, wrapping my bridal bouquet with my great-grandmother’s antique handkerchief, and topping our wedding cake with a retro cake topper from my parents’ wedding.

It was important to us that our wedding to be relaxed and fun, yet refined and tasteful. We achieved this by selecting vendors who not only reflected our style but were also warm and easy to be around. Capturing the memories was extremely important and we knew we could trust our photographer, Heather Waraksa, to provide us with beautiful, editorial style images that we will cherish for years to come. Having great chemistry with the team we hired to carry out our vision was invaluable. We couldn’t have been happier working with Kay Chittiappa, the coordinator at the GPH, who helped flawlessly execute our dream wedding.

We were so lucky that the weather was sixty degrees and sunny – a perfect fall day in the city. The autumn colors of the leaves in the park added to the vibrancy of the day. Our guests arrived to music by a live jazz trio, and the catering by Danny Meyer’s Union Square Hospitality Group was incredible. Our favorite moments included taking photos throughout our neighborhood, sharing our handwritten vows during the candlelit ceremony, and dancing the night away to DJ MKL’s amazing playlist.

Tying the Knot in a City They Fell Head Over Heels For

A breathtaking Monique Lhuillier and an equally as breathtaking Manhattan skyline are quite the match. And for this couple, who fell in love with New York City it made the most sense to gather their loved ones in the spot they fell head over heals to celebrate. Both modern and traditional, ethereal and wholeheartedly NYC, this wedding planned by Elegant Occasions by JoAnn Gregoli and captured by Cynthia Chung Photography will make you fall hard for the Big Apple too.

From the Bride… Neither Daniel nor I grew up in New York but had both moved here for work. During our time in New York, we both fell head over heels in love with the city. Especially after we got engaged in the Hamptons, we knew we wanted to have our wedding in New York City, to commemorate and celebrate our time here. From the second we saw the stunning panoramic views of the downtown Manhattan skyline from the top floor of Trump Soho, every other venue paled in comparison.

As most of our guests would be coming from out of town, we thought this was the perfect way to showcase for them the city. We chose the Church of the Heavenly Rest for our ceremony because we were enraptured with the majesty and beauty of its architecture, and it most definitely fulfilled the dreams I’d had since I was a little girl of a fairy tale wedding. For the decorations and floral designs, we wanted to keep everything clean, classic, and elegant. Especially with the stunning architecture of our church and the unique downtown views of Trump Soho, we didn’t want to have too much and detract from their intrinsic appeal. From my walk down the aisle, to being introduced to all our family and friends as husband and wife for the first time, to dancing the night away with the Manhattan skyline lit up behind us, every detail and every single person we had the opportunity to work with was so perfect and far exceeded anything we had ever imagined.

A Blind Date That Ended in Forever Love

Laura and Will met on a blind date and the rest, as they say, is history. They quickly knew they’d found “the one” and when it came time to plan their dream wedding, New York City was the only place to be. They exchanged vows in Manhattan’s Fort Tryon Park and we’ve got all the images from Levi Stolove Photography.

From Levi Stolove PhotographyLaura and Will wanted to get married close to home on the Upper West side but also feel like they weren’t in the middle of the city. Fort Tryon Park with it’s Hudson River views is a perfect melding of city and country.

It was a blustery day which added to the drama, rain threatening, dramatic clouds overhead but it all seamed to work so well. Laura started the day downtown at The High Line Hotel and Will started the day at his parent’s home in New Jersey.

We met at the park with an outdoor ceremony and got to wander around the gardens for their portraits. They both love to dance so the dance floor was jumping. The two of them beamed all day and danced all night.

From the Bride… Now that the wedding has passed, everyone’s question to us has been “Was it the best day ever?!”and we both look back at the night and smile because it was everything we envisioned and then some. We always said throughout the entire planning process, that the wedding is just six hours of the rest of our lives, and those six hours should be a celebration of our marriage and commitment to one another. We were surrounded by our loved ones, shared a beautiful and perfectly timed first dance to Johnnie Taylor’s “Just the One” after being dance class drop outs, survived a tumble off our chairs during the Hora, managed to tear the under arm of my dress, and are still waking up to that newlywed feeling… so yes, it was the best beginning to the rest of our lives.

As many couples know, wedding planning can be overwhelming when all you want to do is start the rest of your lives together the second he pops the question! Sam and I got engaged bright and early on a November morning and waited until after the holidays to begin next steps. We planned our wedding the same way we go about living our everyday life – as a team. The Loeb Boathouse in Central Park was the first (and only) venue we looked at. The second we walked in it felt welcoming, cozy, and most importantly, intimate – we picked our date right then and there. That January night we walked home, freezing our butts off while envisioning what our wedding would be like.

If only finding my wedding dress was as easy as confirming our venue! Shortly after those big items were crossed off the “to do” list, I rallied the troops (aka my mom and sister) and off we went to find “the” dress.

At the end of the first day I found myself with hives, in dresses that weren’t “me”, and stress I didn’t think I’d have. I decided to start over but without intentions of saying “yes to the dress”. Shortly after, I booked an appointment at David’s Bridal in my hometown after going to nearly every Manhattan bridal boutique and retail store known to (wo)man. At David’s, I tried on dresses that were not my style (think crazy bedazzled, poufy dresses), that would ease the stress and put a smile back on my face. I found my dress thinking it would be another “no”, I actually called it the “Icescapedes” dress. When I walked out of the dressing room, my mom’s eyes welled up – it was the last dress I tried on. I went home to over-think about it and ordered the dress over the phone a few weeks later while on a business trip in Paris. Because it wasn’t 100% my style, I sought out to find the best seamstress team (Sew Elegant) to re-design and reconstruct my dress.

Every last detail of our wedding from the amazing floral arrangements and altar (Cress Floral Decorators) to our dog Riley’s bow tie and yellow lab seating cards (Etsy), to refurbishing a forty year old cake topper from Sam’s parents’ wedding day, we conceptualized together. We didn’t have a “theme” for the wedding; it was more about the feeling. Our hope was that our guests would walk in and have a glimpse into what every day feels like… happy!

That morning it rained; Sam went for a long run and got ready at our apartment, while my sister and I sweated it out at the gym and grabbed coffee nearby. My mom, sister and I all got ready together at Le Parker Meridien, having the same hairstylist who did my mother’s hair for her wedding do mine.

Throughout the day, my bridesmaids trickled in to all get ready together, all wearing a black gown of their choice that made each of their individual beauty stand out. Sam met his groomsmen at the hotel for a scotch (or two), and they too arrived in a dark suit or tuxedo of their choice. It was important to me and Sam to have our favorite people feel like themselves and be comfortable for the long night ahead; we’re so lucky to have each of them in our lives.

The weather cleared up and next thing we knew it was time for our first look, captured by the remarkably talented and lovely Betsi Ewing. From then on, time flew by, it was as if we blinked and we were walking down the aisle hand in hand after reciting our own vows in front of 125 guests. The ceremony was our favorite part, although we were in front of all these people – for that moment it felt like only us. The evening was beyond spectacular and wouldn’t have been possible without the love and support of our parents.

Truthfully the details now all seem like a blur, I think we’re still hoping we spent time with each of our guests to tell them just how thankful we are that they were there to share in our love and excitement…

5 Tips for a Smooth Dress Fitting Process

So you’ve made one of the biggest wedding decisions yet—choosing your dress—and you found THE perfect one. Yay! But did you know that the dress fitting process can be just as (if not more) important? Take it from this business-owner-turned-Bride whose dress fitting we’re getting a behind the scenes peek at today, along with her 5 tips to make the process smooth as ever. Clary Pfeiffer captured it all and we’re straight up drooling over the detail—that bow! See it all here.

From the Bride… I wanted my gown to be simple yet novel. My business partner (MESTIZA NEW YORK) and I decided on a form-fitting spaghetti strap gown with a scooped neckline and low back. We sourced the fabric locally in New York City and loved the embroidery on mesh because it wasn’t a typical bridal lace. It reminded me of architectural elements in the city that I see and love everyday. We lined it in a nude so you could see the details in photographs. I’ve always loved the femininity of a bow, so we crafted a removable structured bow belt in ivory silk wool. The bow accentuated my waist and offered an element of surprise when I turned around. What is so cool about my wedding gown is that many of the fabrications were repurposed fabrics from previous projects! It was special knowing that nothing went to waste and we were able to create a beautiful gown.

5 Tips for a Smooth Dress Fitting Process

Take a walk and have a seat

When trying on your dress, it’s important to think about the activities at your wedding: are you able to walk in it? Sit in it comfortably? Can you dance in it? Make sure you think ahead. Relay this information to your seamstress so she can make the changes accordingly.

Choose your shoes

It’s always best to make the dress longer than you’d want and then hem it to the perfect length at the very end of your fittings once you’ve determined what shoes you’ll wear. You don’t want to risk the hem being too short!

Bras matter

At your first fitting, you can work with your seamstress to determine what type of bra would be best for the dress. Some dresses may need pasties, some dresses may need more support or padding. At your next fitting, determine the bra you want to wear and fit it with the dress for a perfect fit.

Know your angles

We made a custom gown for a bride who wanted an embellishment on one side of her dress. We asked her which side would be photographed the most and decided on her right side because she will be standing that way at the altar. Think about where you will be photographed and make sure your embellishments and best features will be showing!

Speak up!

You know your body best and if there is something that looks off to you, don’t be afraid to ask questions and make changes.

From the photographer…The Foundry is a one of the most magical wedding venues in New York City. Between it’s mix of romantic and industrial locations, it’s a dream to photograph. Laura and Shevon began their love story inside the dorms of New York University. The happy couple are avid travelers who love to explore and decided to throw and intimate fete at The Foundry in Long Island City. Laura wore the most amazing structured wedding dress from Carol Hannah and jaw dropping gold Christian Louboutin shoes. The groom and groomsmen got ready at The Foundry’s greenhouse before the couple shared their first look outside on the private rooftop terrace. Shevon’s reaction to seeing his beautiful bride to be was simply amazing to capture. In the courtyard, we used full advantage of the stunning ivy covered walls and vintage cobble stone streets. I could have photographed them for hours! Ivie Joy Flowers created a simple yet stunning white bouquet for the bride and used lots of peach and pink blooms for their reception. Lots of happy tears were shed during their intimate wedding ceremony and the room exploded with cheers when Laura and Shevon shared their first kiss as husband and wife. The warm September evening was perfect for their tented outdoor reception. Guest enjoyed cocktail hour in greenhouse before moving outside in the courtyard to enjoy dinner under the stars. I’m so honored I could be part of their modern, romantic, and very glamorous wedding day!

First She Said Yes to the Dress. Then She Said “I Do” to the Wedding of Her Dreams

When original plans to marry in Aruba shifted, this Bride-to-be jumped headfirst into planning her revised wedding in NYC (and as the face behind Michelle Elaine Weddings, she didn’t even miss a beat). The finished results are pure perfection; from the subtle nods to her fur babies to a dress that leaves us breathless (found at the fabulous Kleinfelds). Mikkel Paige and NST Pictures captured it allget a look at it all via our Vault before it airs on “Say Yes to the Dress” tomorrow!

[iframe http://player.vimeo.com/video/184745418 600 338]

From the Bride, Michelle Elaine WeddingsOur story began over 15 years ago in high school. We weren’t high school sweethearts, as many people think, we had more of an on-again/off again type of relationship. But no matter where we went, we were always brought back to one another in some way. In 2013 we had finally went on our last first date, and the rest, as they say, was history. As a wedding planner in New York City I was looking for something a bit different so that this wedding would feel less like work. We began our plans for a wedding in Aruba in mid 2015 in hopes to be wed by the end of 2016. Our plans came to a crashing halt when our Yorkie, Sprinkles, became very sick. My dogs are like my babies, so while everyone thought we were absolutely insane to re-work our entire wedding around a dog, I don’t regret any of it for one single second. With the condition she was in, it would’ve been impossible to do any traveling to plan. So I immediately began to reach out to my contacts here to get a new date on the calendar and host the wedding in NYC instead. We chose a Thursday because it was already deep into March and I knew we’d never be able to get married in 2016 on a Saturday in the summer months. My wedding dress had already been purchased, and yes, when I bought it the intention was for an Aruba wedding. If we were switching to NYC it had to be a warmer time of the year. Being swamped with weddings myself we chose the best date possible and that was it; August 25th was the date and we went full steam ahead planning! Very sadly Sprinkles didn’t make it through much longer but we made sure to incorporate her into as many parts of our wedding day as possible. My seamstress even sewed a piece of Sprinkles’ pink jumper into my wedding dress where it laid over my heart. Some time into our planning I was walking past a pet shop and decided just to walk in; we are huge on rescuing but something drew me in that day. As soon as I walked in I saw the sweetest chocolate colored chihuahua and knew I had to take him home. Chocolate Chip is what we named him – in honor of Sprinkles – see the trend of dessert toppings :) Not only was he a wonderful addition to our family but we got the honor of having him as our ring bearer, although he had to be carried since he was so scared!

With design and details I had always wanted blush, grey and ivory. I feel these colors are elegant and classic. I chose pieces from BHLDN and some from Etsy that not only reflected us personally but pieces that I could look back and still be in love with years from now. From the character and charm of the Marlton Hotel to the simplicity of our decor at the India House, I wanted things to be effortless and timeless. We chose the India House because it had that feel of an old townhouse in Manhattan. I wanted guests to feel as if they were coming to our home for this beautiful celebration. We opted for a cocktail style reception to simplify things. I was already making myself crazy over details and needed to cut back somewhere! When I got to peek at our reception room before guests entered I was overwhelmed with emotion. I walked into my wedding that I’d worked so hard on and I couldn’t believe how quickly it all came together. Soon after it was time to get married! I thought I’d might’ve used up all of my tears during our first look but the rush of happy tears re-flooded as soon as I started to walk down the aisle. Seeing John’s face light up and walking towards him knowing that I’d be leaving the room as his wife was one of the most magical moments that I will cherish in my memories forever. I felt so lucky to be there surrounded by family and friends to finally marry my prince.

Our wedding day is one that I could re-live over and over again. It’s so true that it goes by in the blink of an eye so I made sure to soak up every single second. At the end of the night, we headed back to our hotel, both so calm and happy but feeling like it was all just a dream. We’d both dreamt of this day for so long and couldn’t believe we were finally Mr. & Mrs. – forever :)

A very fun and exciting piece of our wedding journey is that when I did go wedding dress shopping at Kleinfeld, I got to shop with Randy! That was an absolute dream come true. I filmed the entire experience for Say Yes To The Dress during Season 14. Down the line they asked to film our wedding day, and of course I said yes :) It was certainly an added piece of pressure but the experience was once in a lifetime that John and I will never forget!
