Central Park Wedding from Tin Sparrow Studio
New York City weddings are awesome, there's just no doubt about it. They carry this innate sense of sophistication and glamour that you just can't find elsewhere. And that Big Apple chicness? It's literally pouring from every nook and cranny of this Central Park soiree, from the simple, yet elegant ceremony to the bride and groom's stunning attire (hello knee-length beauty) to the crazy cool lunchtime reception. From the Groom...We had a perfect Saturday in September. Sunny with a hint of humidity and not too hot. The day began with Caitlin getting ready at her aunt's apartment with her maids of honor: her mother and two aunts. Meanwhile, I (Richard) was getting ready at the W hotel. After a nice breakfast of Eggs Benedict I made my way to Central park with two of my good friends in tow. The ceremony took place on Cherry Hill in Central Park, where we were surrounded by our closest family and friends, serenaded by a string duet playing instrumental versions of "Don't Stop Believin'" and "The Final Countdown."
After the ceremony, the celebration continued with cocktails followed by a three-course lunch at Riverpark Restaurant overlooking the East River. Upon arrival, our guests were greeted with our favorite cocktail - the "Peg", a bourbon and ginger-ale concoction, named for Caitlin's mother. During lunch, guests were finally able to experience Rich's "favorite meal of all time": Chef Sisha Ortuzar's short rib ravioli. As lunch concluded, guests received parting favors of jam - made from scratch by Caitlin and I. Finally, the festivities moved on to our favorite beer-pub in the city: The Gingerman, located in midtown Manhattan. We could not have asked for a more perfect way to celebrate our wedding day!
