Classic Trump National Golf Club Wedding

Traditional elegance filled with pretty blush hues and overflowing from florals from Beethoven’s Veranda – this New Jersey wedding at the Trump National Golf Club has SMP written ALL over it. Planned to perfection by EVJ Wedding Co these images by Kelly Kollar Photography are wedding gold.

[iframe http://player.vimeo.com/video/129588815 600 338]

From The Bride…Jeff and I met in college but it wasn’t until 5 years after I graduated that we reconnected at a New York Giants/Buffalo Bills football game (the Giants won!). It truly was love at first sight. Jeff packed up his Arizona house, his German Shepherd, and drove across the country to live with me. I knew right away he was the man I wanted to marry, and he made it official a year and a half later during a morning walk on the Pier in Hoboken, NJ. Our dog, Kaiser, ran up to me with a note on his collar asking if I would marry his Dad. Of course the answer was “YES”!!!

I knew I wanted a traditional, formal wedding and wanted to mix classic and romantic styles with TONS of flowers. Jeff loves to golf, so one visit to Trump National Golf Club in Bedminster, NJ was all we needed. The property and the scenic countryside was absolutely breathtaking. The main clubhouse is a renovated 1930’s Georgian Manor – it’s the former estate of John DeLorean. The staff and event coordinator were all so wonderful and I just knew that Trump was the place for us.

With the help of my wedding planner, Jacquelyn Mavrookas from EVJ Wedding Co, I was able to bring my vision to life. The color palette consisted of soft blush pinks, whites and neutral tones. The groomsmen wore classic black and white tuxedos, and the bridesmaids wore blush pink Jenny Yoo dresses made of soft, light tulle which added such a romantic feel. I wanted every part of the wedding to be bursting with fresh flowers – from the custom made trellis at the altar to the magnificent centerpieces on classic cut crystal pedestals. Beethoven’s Veranda proved to be the perfect fit for our floral design.

The feeling and emotional intimacy of the day was also very important to me. I wanted it to truly reflect us and I wanted each guest to really feel the love that we have for one another. I spent a lot of time custom creating the ceremony to make it extra special. In order to mix the classic with the romantic we said traditional wedding vows in addition to writing our own vows to one another. To add a unique twist, the bridal party walked down the aisle to a string quartet playing Eric Clapton’s “Wonderful Tonight”, and I walked down the aisle to Righteous Brothers’ “Unchained Melody”. The romantic and emotional feeling of the day extended to the reception, and the ballroom was filled with flowers and decor in soft pink and neutral tones. We danced to Ed Sheeran’s “Thinking Out Loud” and then wanted the party to start right away – our band, Central Park Orchestra, was just perfect and kept our guests on the dance floor all night.

I purposely chose vendors that were fun to be around and had positive vibes to them. Being surrounded by such great people kept me feeling happy and at ease all day which was so important. I could not have dreamed of a better day, and my visions all came to life with the help of my amazing vendors. It truly was the best day of our lives!

Historic and Intimate New Jersey Barn Wedding

I don’t think there’s a single detail about this wedding that doesn’t make me weak in the knees. The Bride’s lace-tipped veil? Vows in the light-filled barn ceremony? Golden hour portraits at the end of the day? And that puppy?! Don’t even get me started. Captured by Rachel Pearlman Photography you won’t be able to get enough in the gallery here!

From Rachel Pearlman PhotographyWhen Sara and Jason began plans for their Summer wedding, they knew that a few details were an absolute must: Including Sara’s beloved show horse, Larry; creating an ‘at home’ feeling for guests, and giving up design and styling control to bridesmaid and best friend, Mary Coombs of A Garden Party, who was sure to work floral magic. Adding to the down home feeling of the day was the venue itself: The groom, Jason, spent months clearing out his family dairy farm from the 1800s for his bride. A Garden Party took this blank slate and created an elegant ceremony and reception space that wowed guests and provided a memorable and stunning space for Sara and Jason’s celebration. Sara chose a classic Paloma Blanca gown with pockets, for a touch of fun, and walked down the aisle to a live fiddle playing. An adorable first look was done at the groom’s grandmother’s home (another historic property), and Sara and Jason made sure to take plenty of photos with their new puppy, who was a honorary member of the bridal party. Sunset portraits were taken at the dairy farm, in and around the land that Jason farmed himself.

From Mary at A Garden PartySara and Jason wanted a wedding day that felt “at home” and they knew the best way to do that would be to host their friends and family at Jason’s historic barn. Their laid back affair was labeled a success as guests claimed “the wedding just felt good – full of love and laughter”. The down to earth couple and their families helped to clean out the historic dairy barn built in the 1800’s, dusting off the weathered wood beams and original windows and then adding a touch of elegance with lights and white fabric draping. Fearful of intense July heat, the couple decided to wed inside the barn where guests sat on covered straw bales sourced from the nearby field and admired Sara and her bridal party walking down the lush green sod aisle to live fiddle music. The alter was marked with a custom painting done by A Garden Party’s in house artist, Cristina Kramer, and the couple chose inspirational words from Galatians 5:22, Fruit of the Spirit; they plan to hang this in their home as a reminder of their promise to each other. Led by her childhood pastor, Sara and Jason exchanged vows and as a symbol of their unity planted an oak tree with soil from her childhood home and his farm, signifying the commitment to love and care for each other as they grow together. After some laughs and a few tears, guests entered the main reception space, which was lit with hundred of candles, decorated with soft greenery garlands and lush arrangements of white and cream seasonal florals. The escort cards hung on repurposed screens found in the barn, cow stanchions displayed the history of the family farm and the farm fresh appetizers were displayed on vintage doors. Old ladders hung with lights and florals to bring the eye up to admire the impressive barn beams. Guest tables were various styles, some long with garlands and tall centerpieces and some round with garden fresh floral compotes. Repurposed horse shoes were made into table numbers, nodding to Sara’s horse training career. The newlyweds dined at a vintage pine table from her childhood home and a rustic bench adorned with florals and greenery. With the dance party ending after 1 am, complete with live fiddler (Sara’s cousin, Carter Green) and cold drinks served at the groom’s hand made bar, they guests could relax in the straw bale lounge area. Sure to include their all of their passions, Sara and Jason were photographed by Rachel Pearlman with Sara’s horse and Jason’s old Chevy truck. The bride and groom, who I am blessed to call my dear friends, sure do know how to throw a great barn party!

Romantic Cape May Wedding

This crazy in love duo really has the whole “throwing a fabulous wedding” thing down to a science. Think a plethora of creative details meets stunning florals from A Garden Party meets one seriously epic dance party (emphasis on the seriously).  Soak in the breathtaking images and film from Rach Loves Troy, then head to The Vault for even more seaside lovely.

[iframe http://player.vimeo.com/video/130498001 600 338]

From The Bride… It was the most perfect day of our lives. I always grew up going to Cape May every summer, and it soon became my favorite place on earth. It was my true happy place. I went through very hard times with health issues and going to Cape May always brought my spirits up. When you are there, all your worries seem to go away. Chase and I met in high school and went on a couple of dates (one of which he still has the movie ticket from!). We parted ways and got back together when we were in our mid-20’s. After four years of dating, Chase took me to the beach across from my house in Cape May, and asked me to spend the rest of my life with him. Ten months later, we were walking down the aisle in that same exact spot.

The day of the wedding was not ideal. Thunderstorms shook the cars, power went out at our house, and I had never seen rain fall so hard. I was getting ready with my bridesmaids at our hotel room at Congress Hall, and everyone was so worried I would be upset. But all I could think about was that I was going to marry my best friend. The rain kept coming, the lightening and thunder grew louder, but our joy and happiness didn’t stop. One hour before the wedding was to start, the clouds parted ways, and the sun came out. It turned out to be the most beautiful day, and I thank god every day for giving that to us. It was a true miracle and shows how much we truly care for one another.

I come from a family of artists. For ten months, my mom, dad, sister and friends and I made so many details for the wedding. All of the decor from the signage, to the mason jars wrapped in rope, was handmade. My mom and dad could not have made it a more personal wedding. I will never be able to thank them enough. Everywhere you turned you would see one more personal detail that just made you smile. Even though it was a lot of work for 10 months, it all came together on June 6th, and was more perfect than I could have imagined.

This quote from our photographer sums up our day in the most perfect words and it brought tears to my eyes when she sent this to me, “It is always so crazy to me how well I connect with the people I meet along the way in the business. Sean was referred to me by a friend of mine who is from Cape May. From the moment I spoke with her on the phone the first time I knew we would be friends and that her day would be so much fun to be a part of! Their day was exactly that. Pure Joy in every moment of the day! Sean’s dream of a Cape May beach wedding was even on the verge of being rained out just hours before and she still couldn’t stop smiling. Because at the end of the day everyone knew her only dream. That was to marry Chase!

I love the way Chase loves Sean. Troy and I came home talking about what an inspiration their love was to everyone around them. Chase has so much respect and truly honors Sean just the way a husband should. Sean is so patient and kind and returns that respect and honor back to Chase in the best way.

I absolutely loved every moment of their day but one of my favorites was listening to their wedding vows as the sun shined down on what was supposed to be a rained out ceremony. Chase told stories of their younger years and how he fell in love with Sean and brought tears to all of our eyes.

So without further a do I give you a magical day in the sweetest little city of Cape May that Sean and Chase’s amazing families brought to life like no other on that beautiful Saturday in June.”

From The Bride… We knew when we planned an April wedding the chance of rain was high. We couldn’t believe it when we ended up with full sun and 80 degrees. It truly was the perfect start to an incredible day! We had a lovely and intimate outdoor ceremony. From there, walking into the reception and seeing all of our favorite people to dancing the night away to an amazing band and enjoying s’mores by the fire pit with our families it truly was the best day ever.

I am not so much of a DIY-er myself, but luckily websites like Etsy exist to help people like me achieve the “DIY” look without all the work! My favorite “DIY” elements would have to be the signs I found by “Remember November” on Etsy- they worked with me to design the perfect signs to match our color scheme. They added the perfect details to tie everything together! I found easels online and printed the signs on 20 x 30 thick poster board for my wedding program as guests entered the ceremony area and also a welcome sign as guests made their way into the cocktail area. I was so happy with how they turned out! We even got matching signs for the card/gift table and guest book as well as signs to notify guests of our wedding hashtag. I also love the way our table numbers and cake topper from “Better Off Wed” on Etsy turned out! They were the perfect pop of glitter and gold!

My favorite moment was walking into the reception hand in hand with my new husband and seeing all of our friends and family’s smiling faces! It was so nice to look around and see all of the planning and details we had been trying to envision for the last few months – the band, flowers, layout all came together better than I could have imagined!

I was so lucky to find the best vendors! My florist, Floriography Designs, truly brought my vision to life. I wanted simple, soft arrangements in pale peaches, pinks and ivory for the centerpieces and bouquets, but I didn’t want to spend too much.  She helped me pick the seasonal flowers that would be the most cost-effective while still giving the look I wanted. We ended up picking peach Juliet roses as the main flowers in the bouquets accented by white anemones with dark centers and I just loved the way they turned out!

My gown was an Essence of Australia tulle trumpet style gown, criss-crossed through the bodice with a sweetheart neckline. The color was a mix of ivory and champagne, which I loved! The girls and I added champagne ribbons to our bouquets which was an extra pop of color that tied it all together. Originally I thought I wanted something more traditional, but they just weren’t doing anything for me, in the end tulle added to the soft romantic look I was going for, and the added bonus of being an extremely light weight material which in the end worked out great since we got a super hot day for April! I added a champagne belt to the dress and big dangly earrings to add some sparkle.

I found the best hair and makeup artists to tie the look together with a soft side swept wavy hair style that kept in place the entire night and super natural makeup by Beauty on Location NJ.

My bridesmaids wore jade floor length dresses from J.Crew and my Maid of Honor wore a gold sequin floor length Badgley Mischka dress, which added a little more gold pop to the jade and soft peaches and pinks in the floral arrangements.

In lieu of favors we decided we would go against tradition and make a donation to two organizations that are important to us. Operation Smile, which Frank does a lot of work with as an employee of Johnson & Johnson and St. Matthews House in Naples, Florida, an organization which helps the homeless and less fortunate get back on their feet.

As for the cake we wanted to keep it pretty simple, we chose a vanilla cake with fresh strawberry and Bavarian cream filling with plain icing and pretty simple accents. I asked my florist to decorate the cake with some flowers that matched the centerpieces and I loved the way she chose to decorate it.

We chose an amazing photographer, Images by Berit, that helped us capture the day and all of the details. She totally got the vision that we were trying to pull together over the months and I love being able to look back on the pictures from the day and seeing it come to life all over again!

My advice to brides-to-be?  Don’t stress about the little things! Though it’s easier said than done! Things will go wrong but the best part is you will hopefully be having too much fun to notice or care when the time comes! I remember agonizing over the smallest details, luckily my sister and bridesmaids were there to remind me that in the end what color the napkins were and whether or not I had envelope liners meant nothing in the grand scheme of things!

Romantic Equestrian Inspired Wedding in New Jersey

There are a bajillion reasons why I love this celebration, but the absolute winning factor is the couple and their story. It’s one of strength, courage, and concluded with a seriously elegant affair. From the portraits amongst paddocks to the gorg reception space, Kay English captured all the loveliness here!

From the beautiful Bride… Zack and I met online after a series of unsuccessful relationships for us both. We talked for over a month before meeting, having some hysterical conversations. When finally met there was an instant connection, we were inseparable ever since. Six months into the relationship he was sent to Virginia for work. We were long distance for about 2 years before I decided to move down to be with him.

A few months later, the autoimmune disease that I was diagnosed with many years back progressed at an aggressive rate – sending me back home to NJ to be with my family for the support of the grueling process that was ahead of me. Fast forward 3 years, one failed treatment after another, eventually resulting in a 3 stage surgery which was my only option left. Zack proposed a year and half before our wedding, when we still had such high hopes that one of the many treatment options would eventually work. We never imagined I would end up where I am now. But we made it through! If I learned anything from this process it was that the love and support of loved ones can get you through anything. The wedding was extra special to us to not only be celebrating our union, but celebrating getting through the hardest time in our lives, our never ending love, commitment, support for each other, as well as my determination to move forward with my life.

Our ceremony at St. Teresa of Avila in Summit, NJ started with the Stafford Horne Music by Claudia Wigent and her ensemble filling the grand church with their alluring classical instrumental and vocal music. One of my favorite moments was me standing in the back, waiting for it all to begin, my arm in my fathers and my mother in front of us telling me to listen. I heard the most beautiful rendition of one of my favorite songs, “Come What May” from Moulin Rouge that my mother surprised me with. My eyes started to fill with tears as I always think of Zack when I hear it. I walked down the isle to their instrumental version of “A Thousand Years” by Christina Perri. I wore a beautiful crystal adorned gown by Enaura Bridal with a cathedral length veil from Jaehee Bridal. We then made our way to the reception in a vintage 1950’s Rolls-Royce.

Our reception was held at the very unique and special, Ryland Inn, there is honestly no other place like it. It embodied every thing I always envisioned for my wedding, elegant but not over the top traditional, just the perfect amount of rustic with an equestrian feel. In front of the Ryland there is a fenced in area that gave my mom and I the idea to hire horses to ride there. We were able to get four horses with their handlers in full equestrian attire from Liberty Farm. My photographer, Kay English, was able to get the most gorgeous photos of Zack and I with two of the horses. We were all so excited but Zack eventually had to force me to go inside to enjoy the cocktail hour.

In my experience, having such great vendors to work with helped make everything flawless. I am so glad I found the Ryland Inn after searching for months for that one special place. It was exquisite – from the people who work there, the service, the food, the décor and setting, it was all just breathtaking.

Everything was so much better than I ever dreamed it would be – We could not be happier! People are still talking about how amazing everything was and that it was the best wedding they have ever been to. Much thanks to all of the amazing people and vendors I had the pleasure to work with, we appreciate everyone very much! But mostly thank you to my incredible family, especially my mother for her patience and putting up with me and my ideas for over a year. Thank you to my loving parents for their incredible generosity in giving me this exquisite day, the best day of my life! I can not think of a better way to spend this most unforgettable day than to be surrounded by our loved ones and closest friends. Thanks to Kay English for capturing all of the beautiful moments and details so I can cherish them for a lifetime.

To all our engaged ladies out there, I beg you to take note of this Sweet Caroline stunner. Dip-dyed in the most delicious of colors, it takes the idea of a non-white wedding dress to a whole new level; unique and statement-making without being in-your-face-shocking. But it’s just one piece of this rustic puzzle captured by Jessica Cooper and Simply Shire, with Janelle on Location’s beauty beaming. More this way!

From Jessica Cooper Photography… When Caroline and I originally met to begin brainstorming for a styled shoot, The Inn at Fernbrook Farms came to mind, and once we knew we could shoot there we really wanted to tell the story of a daydreamer, a farm girl who walks barefoot along the grounds of her farm and is in touch with nature and animals. We chose a color palette of raspberry and light pinks and were inspired by warm weather and summer fruits.

The naked cake by The Cake Box By Neelma, complemented with fresh berries, really worked with the rustic backdrop. The invitations by Darling+Pearl in letterpress and pink hues added perfectly to the mix, and her beautiful wooden beer menus complemented the tablescape. Forget-Me-Not Vintage Rentals & Event Styling, styled four different locations for us, one being the new ceremony wall built on the foundation of the original home at the Inn. Using a mantel, birdcage, and wooden chairs along with Pink Dahlia Vintage’s stunning floral arrangements that were organic, natural and really added an element of elegance to the ceremony space, they were able to transform the space with their beautiful use of color and accessories. Janelle on Location created a few different elegant hairstyles to complement each scene and kept the make up natural and fresh to show the bride’s natural beauty. The stunning custom designed gown by Sweet Caroline was hand dyed a raspberry color to play up the whimsy of the look, with veil and headpieces provided by Sara Gabriel and accessories by Helena Noelle to complete the gown. Shire of Simply Shire Videography completed our shoot with an amazing behind the scenes look at all of the vendors involved. We all hope you feel inspired and enjoy as we really loved creating it!

Casual Chic New Jersey Engagement Session

These pics by Love & Light Photographs are so good, you won’t be forgetting them anytime soon – and that’s not a bad thing. Just one glance at these two super adorable, super chic lovebirds and I’m grinning from ear and ear, excitement already building for her nuptials next year. The epitome of relaxed elegance, these two (and their precious pup) are what perfection looks like in my book.

From Love & Light Photographs… The minute I met Nicole and Mike I knew they embodied everything Love & Light. From their carefree energy to their chic style, this was a match made in photography heaven. The cherry on top was Paige of Gilded Lily Event’s styling each scene seamlessly and bringing Nicole’s creative vision to life. From strolling on the family beach with their great dane, Pearl, to popping champagne on the yacht at sunset, I genuinely cannot pick a favorite moment from this gorgeous engagement session! Their May 2016 wedding will surely be a stunning affair and it cannot get here soon enough!

Romantic + Elegant Princeton University Wedding

We have a new favorite type of venue after soaking up this elegant Princeton University wedding! The alum Bride and her bridesmaids, in pink dresses from Weddington Way, looked flawless at the chapel ceremony followed by a reception at the historic Prospect House, and with the talents of Rebecca Yale Photography and Cinemacake capturing the festivities, this gallery is packed full of gorgeousness!

From Rebecca Yale PhotographyAstrid and Jeff had a lovely summertime wedding at the bride’s alma mater, Princeton University. The ceremony took place at the airy Miller Chapel followed by a perfectly sunset timed cocktail hour in the gardens of the Prospect House and an evening of dinner and dancing inside the historic mansion. The day was a lovely mix of old and new. The bride juxtaposed a very modern off white jeweled gown with a stunning antique heirloom pearl necklace from the groom’s grandmother. The bridesmaids were a perfect pop of color for summer wearing different styles of bright fuchsia gowns and carrying bright pink and green blooms. The groomsmen complimented them perfectly in grey suits and rose colored ties.

The couple carried over the pops of pink and airy feeling into their reception where the beautiful room was full of touches of white and gold and hot pink blooms as the centerpieces. Many of the guests and family members were also Princeton alums, and in one of my favorite moments of the day, during cocktail in the gardens the Princeton alums got together for a photo and broke into song, serenading the party. The bride later serenaded the party again with her fellow Tigerlillies, her Princeton acapella group.

Romantic Pastel Wedding in New Jersey

There really is no denying it, pastel hued affairs are some of my favorites. So when this pretty from Deborahann Photography landed on my screen, well let’s just say all productivity went out the window. Because with an outdoor setting married with light and lovely hues, it’s the perfect fete and the gallery is the perfect place to see it all!

From Deborahann PhotographyThis is the beautiful love story of Jamie and Kasey. It all began when Kasey met Jamie. This happened at an 80’s party seven years ago. They definitely defined the cliche’, “love at first sight” since they have been inseparable ever since! They both love the outdoors, wildlife and nature, so it was totally fitting that Jamie proposed to Kasey at their favorite fishing spot at a lake that Kasey had spent her childhood growing up. It was here that Jamie baited a fish hook with the engagement ring tied to it. He turned to Kasey and asked if she could bait the hook. It was then that she saw the ring and turned around and Jamie was down on one knee and that is where he asked her to be his wife!!!

As the plans for their wedding started to unfold, they both wanted their wedding celebration to be in the true nature of simple, classic and an authentic style to really define their relationship. Kasey’s love for flowers and the outdoors totally came together as they celebrated at the Rock Island Lake club. Kasey found the perfect fit with her florist, Tracey Reynolds floral design. The beauty that Tracey created was so perfect and it truly felt like we were in a garden setting.

The woman all decided on flat and fun sandals so that they could carry the comfort of the style onto the dance floor. Here the DJ (Classe Event located in Englishtown NJ) provided the fulfilled night of music and dancing. The men went with their suits from H&M and the bridesmaids were in dresses by Bill Levkoff. Kasey’s gorgeous sandals were by Stuart Weitzman. Kasey’s wedding gown was designed by Watters, and it was the Pasadena. It was an off white color and covered with an old fashioned lace. Their engagement and wedding rings were created by Thomas D. Cherin Designer and goldsmith located in Westfield, NJ. The engagement ring was white gold, Jamie’s wedding band was yellow gold and Kasey’s petite and beautiful band was made of rose gold. with perfect diamonds set in the band. I just love the way these three metals all came together as a . Their hair and makeup was done by Plaza Salon located in Bernardsville NJ and I must say they did an amazing job!! It was such a beautiful day to capture and remember and I feel truly blessed to have been the one!

Classically Elegant Wedding in New Jersey

Ya’ll know how much I love a sentimental venue, and this sweet as summer pair wed right where their story began. Serving meaningful moments (the Bride’s garter was handmade from her Mother’s wedding gown!) and happy tears, it’s a ceremony graced with elegant Primrose And Company blooms at every turn. Kaitlin Noel was behind the lens sharing the memories, and you can witness all the beauty in the gallery!

From the beautiful Bride… Our wedding venue – The Windrift in Avalon, NJ – has a lot of meaning to my husband and I.

Four years ago, Shawn captured my heart behind the bar on a busy Saturday night in the summer. Apparently, I captured his as I patiently waited for my drinks to be made to take to my tables. Before this night, we were fellow employees working a summer job for some extra cash. That July night, we fell for each other. Today, we are husband and wife, who wed in the same exact place we first fell in love four years ago. The Windrift will forever hold a special place in both of our hearts.

The details of my day all came together so perfectly. It is a risk you take when you plan your wedding for 14 months, and hope that on that day, all of the details flow beautifully. I can honestly say that no detail went unnoticed. From my handmade garter from my mother’s wedding dress, to my trendy naked cake, to my beautiful Anna Campbell wedding dress, it was honestly a dream come true wedding.

The day I tried my wedding dress on I truly died and went to heaven. I had never seen a dress so incredibly detailed. The beaded cap sleeves and full lace train took my breath away. I felt like the ultimate bride in this dress. I began by choosing my dress and then choosing details from there. I paired my gorgeous gown with a cathedral veil edged in lace, along with sparkly Benjamin Adams shoes and drop earrings, both from the lovely BHLDN. On the day of my wedding shower, my mother surprised me with a blush pink clutch, made from my grandmother’s dress she wore the day my mother was married. Hanging from my bouquet, was a pendant of both sets of my deceased grandparents. There were so many memories with me on my wedding day.

Ever since I was a little girl, I dreamed of my wedding day, my prince charming, and how perfect my day would be. Before I knew it, all of my dreams were unfolding right before my eyes. When planning my wedding, I took a lot of inspiration from the natural beauty that has surrounded me since I was born, the beautiful beaches of Avalon, NJ. I wanted to keep my color scheme and theme neutral and let the scenery do the talking. I can honestly say that our wedding was that of a fairytale. Nothing short of dreamy, and romantic, with a touch of vintage. Gorgeous hues of pinks, grays, and neutrals covered our ceremony and reception sites. The beautiful bouquets were draped in long streamers, which flowed perfectly with the style of the wedding. I met with my florist and told her what I was looking for. She went above and beyond to make the floral arrangements heavenly. The bouquets put the perfect touch of romance to my desired look. Slowly but surely, all the designs began to come together. My groom, styled in a Vera Wang tuxedo, was the most handsome man I had ever seen. His perfectly tailored tux, bowtie, and contagious smile blew me away the moment I saw him. My bridesmaids, who wore Dessy from Bella Bridesmaids, were so beautiful in their oyster colored dresses. The light gray color was perfect for the elegant, soft color tones I was inspired by. Looking back, I wish I could do it over and over again. It was perfect in every way.

Our wedding day began at St. Ann’s Church in Wildwood, NJ, where we were married in front of 185 guests. It was a gorgeous and sunny day to become husband and wife. Following our ceremony, we headed to the one and only, Windrift Hotel and Resort. Nestled above the dunes of Avalon, lies this gorgeous wedding venue, truly a hidden gem. The venue overlooks the Atlantic Ocean with one of a kind views. We had cocktail hour on the 3rd Level, where you can see from Cape May to Atlantic City. The vibes were topped off with a steel drums player – simply amazing. Following cocktail hour was our reception which, of course, was perfect in every way. We were surrounded by our most cherished family and friends the entire day on the beautiful beaches of South Jersey, what more could we have ever wanted?!

The most memorable part of my wedding day was the very beginning of the ceremony – Looking into the pews at all of the people there to see my husband and I wed, holding my father’s arm tightly, and gazing into my soon-to-be husband’s eyes at the end of the isle. It was a moment that literally lasted less than 2 minutes. I wish I could relive that moment over and over again.

Romantic + Whimsical Alice In Wonderland Inspired New Jersey Wedding

There are a million reasons I adore this wedding. It could be that the gorgeous bride and her Marine-turned-WWE wrestler are high school sweethearts. But there’s also an heirloom lace bible inscribed with wedding dates of the bride’s family, the lush, romantic florals, and Alice In Wonderland-inspired touches like teacup centerpieces, playing card table numbers and playful quotes. What I really love, though, are the photos from Michelle Lange and the sweet video from Scott Montague. Go down the Rabbit Hole and see it all here.

From the beautiful Bride… With three years to plan a wedding, one would think…easy, right? While Steve and I have been together for 10 years and engaged for three, I had come to learn that planning a wedding was anything but effortless.

With so many options and so much time, I did not realize how much my personal style would change during the planning process. Eventually, I decided to follow some of my own personal advice: “Be yourself.”

I had been collecting teacups and teapots over the course of the wedding planning process, and I knew that I wanted to incorporate them into the wedding somehow. At some point I came across an Alice in Wonderland quote and I quickly realized that I had found my inspiration. Piece by piece, each detail had fallen perfectly into place.

I purchased vintage mirrors from Etsy and wrote different “Alice” quotes on each. The teacups adorned the cocktail hour tables and dinner tables, each with a whimsical and romantic flower arrangement. In shopping at a flea market a few months back, I stumbled across vintage books with pastel colored spines that I knew would be another special touch. My best find was a 1946 copy of Alice in Wonderland and Through the Looking Glass. I had the book displayed open to the title page that had the title of the book written in beautiful old-fashioned calligraphy and a colored image from the novel. I used gold keys to hold each place card and vintage playing cards served as the table numbers.

I knew that I wanted the style of our wedding to be vintage, romantic, and whimsical. I quickly fell in love with the design of modern calligraphy, however I was not in love with how time consuming and costly it could be. This was one element I refused to give up, so the next best thing was to teach myself. I hand wrote many of the signs that adorned the space as well as each place card and wedding envelope. They certainly were nowhere near professional calligraphy, however I knew that it would add a personal touch to the wedding, flaws and all!

One of the most personal touches at the wedding happened to be a family heirloom. A beautiful lace bible had been passed down to all of the women in my family to use on their wedding day. My mother carried it down the aisle with her, and I signed our names and wedding date inside under all of the names of the couples that came before.

While every detail of our wedding fell beautifully into place, the best part of the day was seeing my husband so emotional at the end of the aisle. It reminded me what our wedding day was truly about. Love and joy emanated from every corner of the room, and that is what the guests remember the most from our wedding. That is what makes a wedding great: love.

From Michelle Lange… Sarah & Steve’s wedding this past May had some adorable accents from Alice In Wonderland, including vintage teacups, teapots, books and Alice In Wonderland quotes. I had the pleasure of meeting Sarah and Steve two years ago at their engagement session. These high school sweethearts have seen their fair of long distance love, with Steve a US Marine Corps combat veteran and now a WWE/NXT superstar in Florida and Sarah teaching in New Jersey.

Romantic Trump National Ballroom Wedding

We can’t say enough about how fantastic Fiore Films is over here at SMP. Each one of their films has been a delight to watch, and this romantic wedding at the Trump National Golf Club is no exception! Assigned with the task of capturing their niece’s wedding, Fiore Films works their magic (with a special shout out to CLY  BY MATTHEW for the beautiful photos), and you won’t want to miss any of it below!

[iframe http://player.vimeo.com/video/124070195 600 338]

From Fiore FilmsThis is a very special wedding for us — the wedding of our own very own deliciously beautiful niece. What more is there to say? Kylee and Anthony you are amazing… and ridiculously silly together! We love you both so so much and are so excited to see this shared with Style Me Pretty fans!

From the beautiful Bride… Anthony and I met on a blind date 3 years ago. As reluctant as I was, I gathered up the courage to go and I’m grateful every day that I did. Anthony, a Long Island born, Italian, sarcastic, sweet but fresh, outgoing personality clicked with my guarded, sarcastic, fun loving, Jersey girl personality. A few weeks later we went on a double date and the rest is history. When you know, you know. We fell in love instantly. We moved in together after 4 months and were engaged 2 years later. The proposal caught all of my friends and family, including myself, completely off guard.

Anthony is in Law Enforcement, allowing him the ability to pull a few things off that we civilians couldn’t. When he was ready to pop the question He had to think of a creative way to surprise me. We had dinner reservations but had to make a stop to meet one of the guys he works with to “drop something off to him”. Before I knew it we were at the beach in Newport, RI (where we lived) where an officer stood with an unlit traffic sign. Shortly after I learned that traffic sign was about to change my life forever. After much negotiating, Anthony convinced me to get out of the car and “Kylee Will You Marry Me?” shined big and bright on the traffic sign. I never thought the day would come and it was such a surreal moment.

Living in Newport, RI at the time with family and friends in New Jersey and Long Island, we decided to get married in Bedminster, NJ at Trump National Golf Club. We could not have picked a more exclusive, beautiful and romantic venue to celebrate the best day of our lives. With countless hours spent on Pinterest, Style Me Pretty, and other wedding blogs I knew I wanted a romantic, elegant fall wedding. Walking into the ballroom at Trump and seeing nothing but chandeliers and ceiling to floor glass windows surrounding the entire room we knew Trump National was perfect for the romantic theme we wanted.

With a year to plan, November 15, 2014 approached before we knew it. We began our day at the private villas at Trump. I stayed in a villa with my 9 bridesmaids the night before where we all got ready the morning of the wedding. Beige and Blanc came to do our hair and make up, while Fiore Films and Matthew from CLY CREATION met us there to start capturing our special day. In no time at all it was time for Anthony and I to do our first look. The entire day from start to finish was a fairytale and so dreamlike. From the moment I walked down the stairs and tapped on Anthony’s shoulder for him to turn and see me was when it all started to get real!

I highly recommend that other couples do a first look. It not only allowed us to see each other sooner but we took our pictures before the ceremony. It gave our entire wedding party quality time to hang out in the quietness before the craziness began! And of course helped with my nerves! After the first look and the pictures it was time to walk down the aisle to say our I Do’s.

From that point on the evening was filled with nothing but love, laughter, food, fun, drinks, and dancing. Before we knew it the night was over and we were so sad to see it end. The one thing everyone told us was the day goes by so fast and to enjoy every second of it. And boy were they all correct. Take a minute to cherish the moment and take it all in. Otherwise do what works for you and don’t worry about what others such as parents, friends, and family are telling you to do. Once the day comes there is nothing you can do to fix any little hiccup. Enjoy every moment of it because it literally goes by in the blink of an eye.

I couldn’t be more thankful to have Fiore Films capture our special day. I can’t watch our teaser without crying no matter how many times I see it. Fiore Films is extraordinary and nothing like anything I have ever seen. Not only does she capture every moment and detail of the day but the music she attaches, the lighting, the angles, the emotions she captures are unreal. I’ve seen many videos but I have never seen better work than Fiore Films. I am also lucky to say that Sharrone Calafiore from Fiore Films is my aunt. I was blessed enough to have my own family capture the best day of our life!
