See it all from the talented Kay English right here!

From Kay EnglishKay English, ReverieMade and Congress Hall collaborated on this inspiration wedding photoshoot. We were inspired by Lilly Pulitzer and bright cheerful colors for a destination beach wedding. Congress Hall is a historic hotel in Cape May, Cape May County, New Jersey, United States, occupying a city block bordered on the south by Beach Avenue and on the east by Washington Street Mall. It is a contributing building in the Cape May National Historic District. Several Presidents have stayed at the location including Ulysses S. Grant. Many celebrities also frequent the hall. This was the perfect backdrop for a summer resort wedding. The interiors at Congress Hall, including the vintage couch, were the perfect decor for a resort wedding. Lilly Pulitzer inspired fabrics and table linens added the perfect ambience to the shore setting.

The shoot was inspired to bring out the charm of Congress Hall in a ‘Jackie O in the Hamptons’ way. Bright, preppy colors mixed with classic silhouettes. The mostly-peony bouquet by Reverie Made, was fluffy and bright, and the boutonnière complemented the Vineyard Vines bowtie. The centerpieces added the perfect pop of color to the mod navy linens.

Elegant Spring Wedding at The Rockleigh

We have quite the midweek treat for all of you today, with not one, but two Christian Oth Studio weddings, starting out with this supremely elegant affair at The Rockleigh Country Club. Classic through and through, this celebration leaves even the most radical of brides aching for blush, ivory and gold decor and florals, and you better believe I won’t be skipping over any of these pretty pics anytime soon.

From The Bride… As funny as it sounds, Chris and I met on Match.com, however it’s not your typical online-dating story, at least we both don’t think so. It was August of 2009, at the time I was sick with Lyme’s disease and was pretty much bedridden that month being on a serious 21 day treatment. One of my close friends and I created a really funny, sarcastic profile and didn’t think anything of it at the time. It turns out Chris also signed up that same exact week and possibly the same day. We had never met anyone online and were both extremely skeptical of the whole “online dating” scene, but we were convinced by our friends after hearing about several success stories. We both worked and lived in Manhattan at the time. Living extremely busy lifestyles with and working very late hours made it nearly impossible to meet a normal person who was looking for all of the things in life we were looking for, so we both gave it a try. We had novels of e-mails back and forth to each other and really got to know each other the month before meeting. Through our e-mails were a million clear signs that convinced us both there was a reason we had to meet. It was like having that first crush feeling, we couldn’t wait until the other responded. His e-mails were truthfully what helped heal me and the fact that he waited over a month to meet me was the true sign that this guy was something special.

We finally met in person on his birthday, September 11, 2009. It was the most romantic date you could ever imagine. Our faces hurt the next day from laughing and smiling so much and from that day forward we continued on with many more casual dates filled with butterflies and laughter. It didn’t take long for us to realize what we had was special, and more than that, it was real and there was a reason we were meant to be together. I knew pretty early on that Chris was “the one” and he says he knew I was “the one” on our first date, the second I walked into the restaurant. I can’t remember the exact date but I just knew as soon as we got to know each other aside from many other reasons, it was the way he looked at me, smiled at me and held me… it was the kind of hug or kiss you get where you can actually hear and feel what the person is thinking without even saying a word. I think when you know, you just know. He’s my biggest supporter aside from my family, my best friend, and my everything. I’ve always wanted to marry a guy who my friends and family love just as much as I do and that’s exactly who Chris is, he’s just an amazing guy and exactly what I hoped for in a husband. There was definitely a reason we met on that day in 2009. Soon after, three years later, Chris proposed to me in New York City (the exact spot we went to on our first date) on my birthday July 14th and we got married on a beautiful, warm spring day full of sun and rain on May 23, 2014!

We toyed with the idea of a destination wedding in Italy, a vineyard wedding in the Hamptons or a New York City wedding, where we met. Since we are both pretty private, we loved the idea of it just being the two of us by ourselves on some exotic island. However, after spending endless weekends searching for the perfect venue, we realized aside from each other it was extremely important to have our family and closest friends with us on that day so we decided to go with a gorgeous country club on the border of New York and New Jersey. This was pretty symbolic to us since my family is from New York and Chris’s family is from New Jersey, it was the perfect in-between location for both of our families. When we first walked into the Rockleigh Country Club, we immediately fell in love with the gorgeous architecture, grand staircase, and the beautiful Parisian crystal chandeliers all throughout the venue.

Our vision for our wedding day was classic and timeless with a touch of glamour. I knew from the start I wanted very soft, angelic romantic colors and textures. After falling in love with my Vera Wang “Lillian” wedding gown, which was made of delicate French, ivory chantilly lace, tulle, horsehair and organza, I decided to plan the rest of the décor and colors around that. I chose blush colored chiffon Amsale bridesmaid dresses, a variety of my favorite white and fuchsia flowers and gold metallic accents throughout the entire wedding.

The invitations and detail cards were made by Bella Figura, which I immediately fell in love with. We chose letterpress invitations with gold foil and pale blush pink ink. For the day of wedding stationery I indulged my creative side and the use of my very talented, artistic and devoted Mom. We spent endless nights designing the perfect day of stationery to tie back to the invitations and rest of the wedding using the same gold and blush pink color scheme. Also with the help of my loving and supportive fiancé, we spent days before the wedding arduously tying ribbon for our programs into the perfect bow, folding all of the place cards perfectly, printing all of our last minute signs and “facts about us” booklet, which all resulted in beautiful DIY day of wedding stationery.

Among choosing the million little details that are necessary to pull a wedding together, there were a few elements I knew would be extremely important to both of us and that was photography (it lives on forever!), the music and the food. After a long search for the perfect photographer, I came across Sue Kessler from Christian Oth Studio and immediately fell in love with her work. She is also the most laid back photographer I’ve ever met and was so easy going and amazing to work with. I knew immediately she would be perfect to capture the day. We didn’t want the typical prom photographs, we knew we could count on Sue to give us shots that looked more editorial and less posed and that is exactly what she did.

One of the special memories I have of that day was the moment I had my veil on as I was getting dressed and my photographer was taking a few boudoir shots of me sitting on a red velvet tufted chair looking up at my wedding gown. I just began to tear up because it all started to feel real and sink in. I realized this was the moment I’ve always dreamed of, it was actually happening today, and this wasn’t a dream… I was getting to marry the man of my dreams and my best friend. I was the happiest I’ve ever been, I will never forget that moment.

For the beautiful ceremony we chose to use officiant, Reverend Richard J. Nelson, who from the moment we met him was the calmest most soothing part of the whole planning process. Despite both being Catholic we decided to have a Chuppah at the end of the aisle. White tulle and silk draped all throughout, dim lighting and candles, it felt like our own little, private room of heaven. Our priest blessed our rings, read a beautiful reading called “Blessing of the Hands” and walked us through our unity candle lighting. Every word and moment brought tears to my eyes and it was hard to keep composed the whole time especially since my sister (Maid of Honor) was standing to my right tearing up. Chris and I held hands and looked at each other with love and exchanged vows to each other while holding back tears. After being announced as husband and wife, we exited the ceremony and were soon after greeted by our loving and supportive guests at the cocktail hour. The party was just getting started.

We danced our first dance as husband and wife to the beautiful Ray La Montagne “Let It Be Me.” And our second dance later in the night which has been “our song” for many years, which was also blasting in the car as Chris was proposing to me the night of July 14th, 2012, SafetySuit’s “Never Stop” (the original version). This kicked off the night perfectly. In between the dancing, toasts and greeting our guests we ate and drank the most delicious food. Our meal was capped off by a beautiful and delectable wedding cake with fresh ivory peonies on each tier, made and designed by “A Little Cake.” It was five tiers of the most delicious red velvet strawberry shortcake with buttercream icing. As we cut the cake my nephew (one of our ring bearers) and my cousin’s daughter (one of our flower girls) just so happened to be standing watching us cut the cake in awe and it made for the cutest photo ever! After endless dancing, laughing and eating the entire night, we wanted to spoil our guests with a huge Viennese dessert spread. The doors opened up like something out of a movie with this pretty, colorful, dim lighting, filled with every dessert you could ever imagine. The room smelled like dessert heaven. It was everything we ever dreamed of.

Our wedding day itself was truly magical for us. It was full of love, happiness and endless dancing. And although it rained on our wedding day, there was something so romantic and cozy about being indoors amongst all of the gorgeous crystal chandeliers with the people who mean the most to us. There is a saying in Italy, “Sposa bagnata, sposa fortunata,” which means that a wet bride is a lucky bride and that it symbolizes fertility and cleansing. It was also very similar to our first date, which was also a torrential downpour but ended up being the most romantic day ever because of it. We truly could not have done the entire day without the help of our amazing team of vendors and parents who made our wedding dreams come true! If only we could do it, all over again…..

Elegant Greek Wedding at The Merion

Having attended a Greek wedding, I’m well aware of how amazing and special they are, from the ceremony and vows, to the traditions and dances. And this elegant summer celebration is all that and more. Sarah DiCicco snapped every picture perfect moment and CinemaCake Filmmakers didn’t miss a second of the soiree. Sit back and soak up all the love and laughter right this way!

From The Bride… I had been waiting for Matt my whole life. Our story began with a long walk at the Jersey shore. It was November and Matt and I had just started our clerkships with New Jersey judges following our graduation from law school. Two years later, Matt proposed and the next year and a half leading up to the wedding was a whirlwind. From our engagement party to the wedding, Matt quickly learned that Greeks know how to throw a fun party.

I really enjoyed wedding planning. Throughout the process, we worked to strike a balance between incorporating traditional and modern elements. For example, we had a band to play Greek music and a DJ to play American music. Our favors were bottles of olive oil from my family olive orchard in Greece.

In order to assemble my “dream team” of vendors, it became clear that I needed help from someone with knowledge of the industry. I found that in wedding planner Gina Sole. With her help we found photographer Sarah DiCicco and videographer Cinema Cake. As it turns out, they were two of the most important parts of the entire process. They both did such a beautiful job. CinemaCake sent us a “trailer” video days after the wedding which was amazing to see because the day felt like such a blur. Our florist, Passions, is owned by my uncle, so I was lucky enough to create our floral arrangements with people whom I have known my entire life.

We chose The Merion as our reception venue not only because of its beautiful ballrooms, but because of the incredible food selection. It was very important to us to provide delicious varieties of food—and lots of it. The Merion delivered and exceeded our expectations. We also knew that The Merion could successfully handle a wedding of our size (we invited 450 people).

Overall, our wedding day was like a fairy tale. We were able to seamlessly blend the traditional and modern and I could not have imagined a more perfect day.

Elegant Summer Wedding at Liberty House

I’d be willing to bet that this wedding day had some of the best weather imaginable. With crystal clear skies, the Manhattan views are absolutely stunning, taking already beautiful photos and elevating them to breathtaking. W Studios New York captured them all and city celebrations going forward have a new level to strive for. Mondays can be tough but with beauties like this one, we’re off to a good start.

From The Bride… Our wedding day was one that I had been waiting for for what seemed like an eternity. After meeting Michael almost ten years earlier, I was finally ready to make him my husband. The day of our wedding I woke up feeling equal parts excited and nervous; excited to be marrying my best friend and nervous that everything wouldn’t go as planned. Little did I know, I had nothing to worry about. Our day was really very special. We wanted something that was celebratory and beautiful, and that had touches of each of our styles, and most of all, that it was topped off with a huge party. We tried to incorporate a city meets country garden theme to highlight our personalities. All the details were a big hit with all the guests. Being a Type-A personality, I took on a lot of the tasks myself. With the help of family and friends, I DIYed many of the details: the signage and menus, the favors, the table numbers, and welcome bags. I really enjoy being creative and our wedding was the perfect excuse to put it into practice. We are so incredibly happy and excited to start this new chapter in our lives.

Elegant Ashford Estate Ballroom Wedding

Time and again, Kay English steps gracefully through our weddings door and steals a little piece of my heart with one of her glowing soirees. Soirees like this one that are jam-packed with pure beauty, thanks to the team at Reverie Made who always seem to raise the bar a bit. I mean, did you see the ceremony space?! To say the result is ridiculously gorgeous is quite the understatement.

From the beautiful Bride… As soon as we started talking about what our wedding would look and feel like, we knew we wanted something classic. We envisioned a romantic and elegant affair, filled with loved ones smiling and dancing the night away. That’s exactly what the amazing ReverieMade created and brought to life on our big day. Led by Owner and Creative Director, Kristin Polhemus, our theme was apparent through and through.

The Ashford Estate was our venue which helped set the stage for the elegance we wanted. To us, the location was perfect because our families didn’t have to travel too far. My family is from South Jersey and my husband’s family is from North Jersey, so we met in the middle in Central Jersey where the venue is located. Special also is the cemetery just 5 minutes down the road from the estate where my grandmother and grandfather on my mother’s side lay. Knowing they were there in spirit meant the world to us.

We selected the last Saturday in September which turned out to be the most gorgeous day we could have asked for – sunny and 80 degrees with a slight breeze. We loved the idea of our guests being in the same location for ceremony, happy hour and reception. Our ceremony was brief, officiated by a family pastor, and guests walked just 20 steps from the chapel to the cocktail hour in the estate followed by the reception which was just 20 more steps to the grand ballroom.

We absolutely loved seeing our guests roam the beautiful grounds at the estate, enjoying all the little details that were sprinkled throughout, from the gorgeous flowers to antique furniture to our unique table linens, all paired with some special homemade touches done by my own (very creative and crafty!) mother. To end the night, my husband had the cool idea of adding arcade games to the after party. (Who doesn’t want to dance to a DJ while playing StreetFighter?)

It was the perfect day to celebrate our love and the start of our lives together. A dream come true!

Rustic Chic Ryland Inn Wedding

Can we talk about these blooms from Laura Clare for a sec? The combo of giant coral charm peonies, pale peach roses and soft dusty miller looks delicious enough to take a bite right out of this bouquet. Not to mention, they pair perfectly with the bridesmaids minty dresses, giving this rustic chic soiree a fresh and modern touch. With Caroline Frost Photography behind the lens, you can feast your eyes on every pretty bit here in the gallery!

[iframe http://player.vimeo.com/video/100874167 600 338]

From the beautiful Bride…We wanted our wedding to have an elegant yet rustic flair to mirror our personal style, and we struggled to find a venue within a reasonable distance from both our families that fit our style. We took a chance and booked the Ryland Inn before the event ballroom was even constructed and were (thankfully!) happy with how it came out. The space was refined but natural, with lots of light and wood and stone finishes. We worked closely with our officiant to craft a ceremony that truly represented us as individuals, honored our loved ones, and celebrated our future together. We know a lot of people were moved by the ceremony, as there were a lot of tears from our family and friends! We’re happy we hired a videographer, whose work complemented the wonderful photography of Caroline. The whole day went by so fast, so it is nice to have both photos and video through which to relive the day! Our DJ was also a pleasure to work with, and kept the dance floor full all night. We love to dance, so one of our favorite memories is being on the dance floor surrounded by so many loved ones from so many different parts of our lives.

Summer New Jersey Lakeside Wedding

I try not to play favorites, but as I clicked from photo to photo from this adorably beautiful wedding… well, it’s going to be hard to beat. This couple radiates pure joy, and that sweet little pup? Don’t even get me started. After flipping through the full gallery (more than once) by the uber talented Love And Light Photographs, there’s no doubt these photos will be treasures for years and years to come.

From the Bride… Jerry and I were high school sweethearts. We shared our first kiss on New Year’s Eve at 17, and we knew even then that one day we would be getting married. Fast forward seven years, and we’re standing in front of our closest family and friends at our rustic lakeside wedding promising to continue to love and cherish one another for the rest of our lives.

When choosing a venue for our big day, a rustic feel and an outdoor location to hold the ceremony were critical. We toured several venues, but fell in love with the laid-back vibe and charming look of Lake Mohawk Country Club in Sparta, NJ, complete with a beautiful boardwalk and beach area for the cocktail hour and ceremony.

It was important to us to find a photographer with whom we felt comfortable and ourselves around, and we found just that with Jessa of Love & Light Photographs. Also very important to us was the music at the reception. We were lucky enough to inadvertently find our band, The Loop, at a bar in Washington, DC while visiting a friend. I knew immediately we had to have them when Jerry and I danced the entire night and they were able to flawlessly cover songs from Jay Z to Lady Gaga. At the wedding, the band was a huge hit. Everyone from the flower girls to grandparents danced the night away.

On the day of, the venue and vendors were perfect, but the day would not have been as special without all of the people who came to celebrate with us. We were so grateful to have family and friends from all over the country, as well as family from Europe fly in just for us. Our bridesmaids, groomsmen and ushers helped to make sure all of our details, such as the rose petal toss after the ceremony, went wonderfully. My bridesmaids wore J. Crew dresses in Dusty Shale. Aimee of Top Knots by Aimee did our hair on the day of. She really understood what I, as well as each of my bridesmaids, wanted and helped me feel so beautiful! Catie of Catherine Gray Makeup Artistry did our makeup which looked so great! All of these details helped me to look elegant in my dream wedding gown (from Bijou Bridal in Paramus, NJ).

The groom and groomsmen wore black suits with black ties with personalized tie bars off Etsy, and our ushers wore grey suits with black bow ties. We loved that this color palette was kept neutral because it helped our flowers really pop! It was Celia from The Floral Gallery in Chester, NJ who completed the look of our wedding with the beautiful arrangements she put together.

My mother-in-law created a beautiful hanging lantern chandelier that filled the tall ceiling space in the reception. From hotel bags prepared for guests upon arrival to baskets in the bathroom at the venue and handwritten seating charts on vintage windows that generous bridesmaids helped to prepare, we tried to add as many touches that would show our style as possible.

As our favors, we made a donation to Eleventh Hour Rescue, the dog shelter from which we adopted our precious pup. We put together magnet photo strip frames displaying information about this donation and for guests to take their photos home in to display (photobooth by Kidz Play Inc). This donation was very special to us, because our pup, Pixie, changed our lives forever when we adopted her several years ago. It was so wonderful that we were able to have her get ready with the bridal party and participate in the ceremony. We couldn’t imagine saying “I do” without 1/3 of our little family!

New Jersey Backyard Barn Wedding

For this Bride who grew up riding horses, a rustic barn wedding (horses included!) only made sense. And thanks to the help of family and friends, their dream of a soft, natural backyard affair came to perfect fruition. Filled with personal details and meaningful nods to loved ones lost, the gallery from Jenelle Kappe is not to be missed.

From Jenelle Kappe PhotographyThe Bride and her sister, along with their Mother – as well as her “Meema” (grandmother), grew up riding horses. Horses have always been a huge part of their lives. It was only fitting that Lauren would incorporate a barn and horses into her wedding day. What better barn and horses to choose, but your parents!!

The Bride and Groom would never allude to it, but it was a rough 6 months leading up to their wedding. Earlier that year Gary’s father became ill and passed away. As if that was not enough, less than a month before their wedding Meema, Lauren’s grandmother, also passed away. Obviously this is never an easy time, but to be so close to such a monumental day in one’s life, it’s heart-wrenching. The blue flower-like diamond ring that Lauren wore on her right hand was her Grandmother’s. An essential part of her wedding day. Two precious souls missing for such a perfect day.

The ceremony was held at a local church and then guests were driven from a near-by parking lot by Golf-Cart through the woods (i.e. horse trails that the Hehn family created for their farm) to only be met by a welcome glass of champagne. Cocktail hour was held by the pool in their backyard and their reception was under a gorgeous Sperry’s tent put up less than a hundred feet from their barn. Everything was so well put together, you would never know that it was in Lauren’s Parents backyard and that this was the first wedding they have had in their family, no less had in their very own back yard.

Details: The Bride & Groom hand made the seating chart, which were individually printed luminaries with guests names on them. The bride had custom cufflinks made for her father that said “I’ll always be your little girl” and have a picture of the two of them when Lauren was a baby. The Groom had custom cufflinks as well as all of the groomsmen. All of them different and specifically picked out for them. And finally, the same pastor that married Lauren’s Parents, took part in the ceremony and married Lauren & Gary as well.

From The Bride…For my dress, I knew i wanted strapless & lace. Everything else was open for discussion. I had NO intention of purchasing my dress from Kleinfeld’s but immediately made an appointment just for the “bridal experience”. When I was asked to be on Say Yes To The Dress the stress set in especially since Kleinfeld’s “starting price” WAS my budget. When I went in for my consultation they told me I was going to have a hard time because “good lace isn’t cheap” but I was determined to try. My consultant came back with 3 options and pretty much said “well this is what we have in your price range”. I pointed to the first one and said “let’s start here. I love that”. I put it on and immediately knew it was the one…tears and all. Now came the stress of pleasing the entourage (all 6 of them!). I walked out without saying a word to find every one of them reaching for the box of tissues. It was the first wedding dress I had ever tried on and all 7 of us unanimously said “YES to the dress”.

When people ask me what my “vision” was my response has always been “DIY meets Rustic, meets Shabby Chic with a hint of Country” which always confused people. I spent the first few months trying to explain my vision to people before i finally adopted the “you will see it in August” response. I knew it worked in my head…I just needed to make it all come together. One major factor for me is I can’t stand when things are too “matchy matchy” so the hunt for 15 completely different lanterns for each table began. I knew I didn’t want “wedding colors” thats too themed and uniform for me so I went with, what I refer to as, “muted neutrals”. Sages instead of green, mauves instead of purples…you get the idea. My goal was I wanted the entire look to be soft and natural. Crystal chandeliers and bling just really isn’t who we are.

This wedding really epitomized “blood, sweat and tears”. My parents worked ENDLESS hours making the farm & backyard perfect. My sister spent HOURS getting the final bid on vintage blue half gallon mason jars on ebay. And Gary and I spent HOURS on Pinterest, Etsy and in arts and crafts stores all over the state finding the little bits and pieces to make up the details of this wedding. Everything was being put together while we were at the church for the ceremony so the first time I saw the “venue” was when I came out of the woods on our chauffeured gold cart. The 2 of us just stood there speechless. It was like everything around us went silent and we looked at each other and said “Wow. We did it”.

Camp Tecumseh Wedding with a Cultural Fusion

The most beautiful weddings – in my humble opinion – are the ones crafted from the heart. The weddings where every detail, every moment speaks to the couple’s story and it’s exactly what these two accomplished. In the bride’s words, “With my Chinese heritage, his graphic design, and our crafting skills – set against the backdrop of his parent’s 400 acre camp – the creative possibilities were endless.” See what happened next in the gallery from Love & Light Photographs right here.

From the Bride… When I first began wedding planning, I was mistakenly under the impression that to create a beautiful wedding I would have to copy other brides’ wedding ideas and try to pass them off as my own. It wasn’t until I tried to “pitch” some of The Knot and Pinterest ideas to my fiancé that I realized I was being unfair to what he wanted. I was missing out on the most exciting time of our lives stressing about what other brides did for their weddings, rather than create a wedding with my fiancé as a team. After that realization, wedding planning became so much easier (and far more fun) because we started blending both of our ideas and cultures together to make our own unique, non-traditional and personal wedding day. With my Chinese heritage, his graphic design, and our crafting skills- set against the backdrop of his parent’s stunning 400 acre camp – the creative possibilities were endless!

Camp Tecumseh was the first wonderful idea we had for our wedding, because it had such a beautiful character of its own. The woodland theme inspired us to create our very own rustic/DIY wedding. For the Ceremony, we made our own wedding arch with hand-picked timbre that we cut, stained and assembled together with ivory cotton-gauze fabric, and leafy green garlands weaved together with twigs. We felt so empowered by creating our own arch that we decided to personalize the entire ceremony – we asked our good friend to officiate the wedding, we composed the entire ceremony script along with the vows, and we designed and printed our own wedding programs. To personalize it even more, Doug arranged the music with his Christian Contemporary band, Unbound, to play all Beatles preludes and Paul McCartney’s “Maybe I’m Amazed” as I walked down the aisle. Then, as the guests exited the ceremony onto the wrap-around deck of the Tabernacle, they were greeted by Chinese finger-foods, red garlands and lanterns bought by my mother in China, and vases that my mother hand-painted with the Chinese characters for “Double Happiness,” “Love,” and “Good Fortune.”

For the reception, each detail was carefully thought out and crafted so that we could fuse together the Chinese cocktail hour theme with the rustic/garden-party camp theme in a subtly artistic way. For wedding favors, my mother-in-law made large batches of homemade strawberry jam each stamped with the “Double Happiness” Chinese character on the mason jars. We tied handmade “firefly” mason jars filled with LED lights to the wooden beams of the ceiling over the dance floor, paired with Asian white paper lanterns. For the dessert table, we asked a local Dutch Farmers Market (Becca’s Bakery) to make 300 homemade donuts (which were to die for!) in place of a traditional cake. We bought 15 different ice cream toppings at a grocery store and placed them all in mason jars for the Sundae Bar, and my mom brought several Chinese desserts wrapped in red foil labeled with the “Double Happiness” wedding symbol. The mason jars set along the windowsills of the Dining Hall were also stamped with the “Double Happiness” character along with twigs from the woods, and a vase filled with pinecones, twigs and LED lights. Our catering company, NoCo Catering, also helped express the combination of our two cultures by splitting the dinner menu in two: half of the dishes were American and the other half were traditional Chinese dishes like Peking Duck.

In order to honor Doug’s family as well, we tried to implement the letter “B” (the initial of his last name) as much as possible in the decorations. Collecting and displaying the letter “B” is a fun tradition in their family, so we tried to highlight that custom by purchasing a marquee “B” on Etsy a few months before our wedding (and then we set it on the mantle of the fireplace in the Dining Hall which lit the room beautifully with a yellow glow)! We also decorated vases with hemp and lace attached with wooden B’s to hold the floral arrangements, and we bought another wooden “B” for guests to sign as the guest book.

Each piece of our wedding – every moment and every element was extremely special to us. Doug and I will always look back on our wedding day as the happiest day of our entire lives, because it was a day filled with so much love and laughter that we shared with both of our families.

We are so pleased to see all of those moments, and every small painstaking detail focused on by Jessa of Love & Light Photographs. Every bride wants to feel complimented by how well she and her spouse worked together as a team for their wedding, combining and marrying all of the little things that are special about the both of them – and Love & Light Photographs captured that magnificently!
