Elegant Los Cabos Summer Wedding

It’s my belief that a destination wedding should literally and figuratively whisk you away, where the bride, groom and all their guests are removed from reality for a brief but beautiful bit of time. And it just so seems that this handsome couple would agree with me, saying “I do” in a chic celebration, designed by Mishka Designs and coordinated by Leslie Bost of One Happenings. Iris and Light captured every second of this stylish soiree for us to fawn over in our VAULT right this way!

From Mishka DesignsKate and Howie’s wedding week included a beautiful cruise around the famous Los Arcos and culminated in a beautiful, garden-inspired wedding at the now renamed The Resort at Pedregal. Kate loves details and she poured her heart and soul into every detail of the wedding… from the floral grown and beautiful shoes she wore at the rehearsal cruise to the wedding invites, save-the-dates, welcome bags down to the shade of blue ribbon tied around the napkins at her reception.

Her ceremony walkway walked right into the middle of the infinity pool and created a beautiful backdrop, as though they were standing at water’s edge (which they pretty much were!). We were granted permission to take out the in-house light fixtures at her reception location and replace them with beautiful crystal chandeliers and that created a warm, beautiful ambience for later-on in the evening. Some more special details from Kate’s wedding included remembrance photos for her bouquet wrap, hand-embroidered handkerchief for her groom, all signage was hand-painted (including the lengthy escort board!), the menus took months to design in order to get the font and the colors the perfect shade.

The love Kate and Howie had for each other radiated from every fun-filled moment to the next and their wedding was planned with the same loving detail that they both put into their courtship.

Cabo San Lucas Beachside Hotel Wedding

A winter wedding in Cabo San Lucas is always an idea we can get behind! This one’s a kick-off-your-shoes kind of affair, with a ceremony on the beach and reggae tunes at the reception, that has us swept off our feet! Beautifully captured by Sara Richardson Photography, you can dive into the full gallery right here.

From the beautiful Bride… Mariano and I met in Cabo San Lucas. There was no need for conversation – of course we would tie the knot there! We have so many insanely beautiful memories at the beaches, camping, fishing and diving in Cabo that we were so excited to solidify our relationship on the beach down there with our closest friends and family members present.

We chose to have the wedding on December 6th 2014 at The Cabo Surf Hotel because of its intimacy and simplicity. The hotel itself is not huge so we knew that it would allow for a more private setting. Fifty-five friends and family members made it to the celebration and everything went magically. The amount of love during our special day was overflowing. I’ll never forget all the cat calls during the ceremony, all the happy tears that were shed, the dancing, and the insanely gorgeous huge red moon that appeared just as the reception was kicking off.

The Shamans, a local band play from Cabo, couldn’t have been a better fit with their classic rock reggae vibes. The tables and flowers by Pina were simple and gorgeous! Everyone had a sand dollar with their name on it that we flew in from the Bahamas, and my sister made our favorite homemade oatmeal cookies as a midnight snack for everyone to take home with them! I was so grateful to our photographer Sara Richardson and her team for capturing every moment. She has a romantic, organic style that I adore, and we will cherish the photos from her forever!

Black Tie Cabo San Lucas Wedding

Just because the bash takes place on the beach, doesn’t mean you have to abandon all elegance and glamour. This Bride took her love for all things chic (her dress is the same one that Ms. Carrie Bradshaw wore on the cover of Vogue) and brought a black tie affair to Mexico for her nighttime nuptials. Sara Richardson snapped away and we have these gorgeous goodies to enjoy for the rest of today.

From the Bride… Mark and I knew we wanted a destination wedding from the moment we got engaged. We both love to travel, and loved the idea of having a multiple day celebration with our family and friends in a fabulous location. Cabo holds a special place in our hearts as it was one of the first places we went together, and really the place we fell in love.

Planning the design elements of our wedding was so much fun! I am obsessed with all things stripes, and thought an all-white color palette with blacks and gold would set that off perfectly. I worked with an amazing graphic designer who was able to create paper goods that matched my visions perfectly, and also ordered a few things from Etsy. Unfortunately, we were unable to bring our French Bulldog, Monte, to Cabo. Wanting to incorporate him, we made one of our custom drinks the “El Monte” and also created “Monte’s Recovery Kits” for our welcome bags.

My wedding dress was the third one I tried on. I instantly loved it, and as a huge Sex and the City fan, finding out it was the dress Carrie wore for her Vogue cover made it even more special. The dress really set the tone for the rest of wedding planning. Mark and I both love getting dressed up, and thought it would be a fun twist on the typical bleachy Cabo wedding to have a black tie affair at night. We started our ceremony just after the sun had set, which allowed us to have a beautifully lit chandelier and romantic overhead lights. We choose to have our head table in the center of the room, with the other tables around us to create an intimate and inclusive feel with our loved ones.

Our entire wedding week was a dream come true. From our fantastic welcome dinner at Los Tres Gallos, to our day after pool party, we wouldn’t trade a thing. Our friends and family are still reminiscing, and getting to relive the week through photos and videos will be something we will always cherish. We are so thankful for all of the amazing vendors who made this day so special for us; everything was precisely what we wished for. We can’t wait to go back to Cabo for years to come!

Tropical Cabo San Lucas Beach Wedding

When the getting ready shots include a Bride sporting sparkly earrings once worn by Marilyn Monroe as her ‘something old’, you know the wedding that follows is going to be fabulous as ever. Set that wedding in a gorgeous designation like Cabo San Lucas, put Sweet Pea Events behind the planning and sprinkle it with coral and turquoise, and it reaches a whole new level. Sara & Rocky Photography tagged along for all the fun and thanks to them, you can too.

From the beautiful Bride…This intimate wedding in Cabo with 30 guests was all about family & friends. Most of the guests stayed at the venue, Villa Turquesa, and it was a week-long celebration overlooking the Pacific Ocean. The groom is a hockey player for the St. Louis Blues and the bride is a sweet southern belle from Dallas.

-The bride’s earrings were worn by Marilyn Monroe, and were a gift from the bride’s father and step-mom as her “something old”.

-The groom’s daughter, Layna, made the bride the blue heart you see in the photos – that was her “something blue”.

– Seashells were used as twist on the traditional boutonniere.

– The seahorse was one of our main design elements and subtly incorporated through the décor.

-All of the linens and pillows were hand-sewn and custom-made just for this wedding.

Intimate Cabo San Lucas Beach Wedding at Villa Captiva In Punta Bella

In the wedding blogging world, we have our own celebrities, and Lane Dittoe is definitely one of them. If you mention his name around our offices, you most likely will hear us all start listing off our favorite Lane Dittoe classics (like this one or this one or this one). Well, it’s safe to say we have another beauty to add to the list, and it’s all thanks to this gorgeous couple and their picture perfect Cabo San Lucas wedding. And you can see just what I mean right here.

From The Bride…Brian and I have known each other for almost 9 years. I have always known he was the one for me so when we finally decided to get married, we knew we didn’t want a traditional one night wedding celebration. We wanted our wedding to feel like a vacation, the kind that you take with the closest of friends. We chose Cabo San Lucas because it was an easy flight for our friends, and especially for our dog Chloe, who just so happened to be our ring bearer.

We rented a beautiful, 10,000 square foot oceanfront villa for four nights. We hired a staff to cook breakfast and lunch for us everyday and we enjoyed just a few of the many delicious restaurants Cabo had to offer. We had a wonderful time with our nearest and dearest. While the guys went golfing at Cabo del Sol, the girls stayed back at the villa where Suzanne Morel’s mobile spa came to treat us to massages, manicures and pedicures overlooking the ocean. Our days were sun-drenched and spent on the beach drinking cervezas & margaritas, lounging by the pool and enjoying a full staff who attended to our guests and their every need. Our goal was that our friends didn’t lift a finger and simply enjoyed themselves. I’d say it was a mission accomplished.

I hired a Suzanne Morel as my wedding planner and, although she helped with much of the organization, flowers and food, I DIY-ed much of my decor. I am obsessed with black & white stripes, pink and gold so it was vital that I incorporate them into the decor. Gold-rimmed plates, pink napkins, gold flatware and personalized carved wooden placeholders sat atop a single black & white striped table. The gold leafed “yours mine” signs were also custom made as well as the large golden pinata. We all sat together and enjoyed a delectable dinner, followed by dancing and more poolside lounging.

We wouldn’t trade our wedding week for anything in the world.

Colorful Cabo Wedding

Give me a beach wedding, drenched in the brightest, most beautiful blooms and you’ll have one happy wedding blogger on your hands. Toss in playful patterning, a mariachi band and a few maracas? Well, it’s a full on Mexican love fest that I just can’t resist. Planned to perfection by Signature, Event Consulting & Design, no detail went un-captured in this vibrant gallery from InTandem!

Whimsical

From Saraí Flores of Signature, Event Consulting & DesignWhen creating the perfect Cabo Mexican wedding, we face the challenge of not falling for clichés. On the contrary, the goal is to orchestrate something unique that says “Mexico” and reflects our clients’ personality and flair.

Working on Tracy & Alex’s wedding was fun and joyful since day one. The initial inspiration and vision was very clear; we were aiming for a chic Mexican and happy atmosphere. We went for bold colors, but not to the point of it looking like a kid’s birthday party.

The scenery was just perfection; it was located in one of the most beautiful terraces of Esperanza Resort. The ceremony was the perfect moment to make a statement, with a bright and joyful setting full of red, orange and pink flowers. We mixed different textures and styles to make it fun and interesting. Working with floral designer Pina is a guaranteed funfest, not to mention her talent for creating the most beautiful arrangements.

The reception took place at the restaurant terraces. We created a very graceful, festive and amusing atmosphere. We had fun mixing fabrics, colors, patterns and textures. We added little touches of the desert, like mini cactei and wild flowers. The funniest part was probably the Burro Photo Booth – hard to pick one, but it was probably the most successful element of the wedding; people didn’t want to get out of the Burro area where we had props, mask and sombreros.

From the beautiful Bride… Find a good wedding planner! I was so fortunate to find Martha and Sarai whom I immediately clicked with and was able to trust fully with executing the perfect weekend. With destination weddings, you have to be able to put your trust in your planner because it is impossible for the bride to take care of the details the way they would if the wedding were in the city they live in. Since I trusted Martha and Sarai so much and spent a lot of time with them before hand going over each detail many times, I was able to just give them some basic ideas on what I liked and envisioned and let them take it from there. When I arrived for the big weekend, I didn’t have to do a thing. I was able to enjoy my guests the entire time and everyone commented that I was the most calm bride they have ever seen. Having that calmness was priceless.

Things I loved the most: The chuppah was absolutely stunning, and the table settings were the most beautiful I have ever seen!!! The donkey was so much fun – our guests loved taking pictures with him when they entered the reception. The entertainment all weekend was amazing – we were lucky to have fantastic musicians (guitar players, mariachi, and a proper band for the party). Nothing gets a party going better than good music!!

Baja California Wedding

I may have just recently returned home from a week-long vaca, but that doesn’t mean I can’t start planning my next amazing getaway.  A little trip that WILL include a magical place called Baja California, the locale of today’s gorgeous affair from Sara Richardson.  It’s a vibrant love-fest with crazy cool rentals from Del Cabo Event Design and pretty blooms from Mazarte Floral (the bride!).  See it all here.

From the Bride… I am very proud of the fact that I am from Baja California Sur. I absolutely love it here! One day, when I was a little girl, I visited Santa Rosalia’s Church and I knew then that I wanted to get married in that church. I was very impressed by the unique and simple beauty that was designed by the Architect Gustavo Eiffel. I had never been to Paris but a little French Colony in the middle of the Baja was the perfect location!

Once I got engaged, my fiancé and I travelled to Santa Rosalia looking for the ideal place to have the reception. We were also in search for the best location to have unforgettable pictures taken on our wedding day. This area looks like it was stopped in time. You can see the deterioration of the buildings over the years but it is still incredibly beautiful. My fiancé fell in love with the place as well so it was set, our wedding would be in Santa Rosalia with a beautiful reception in Mulege, B.C.S. We chose a little Boutique Hotel right in the middle of Mulege named “Hotel Serenidad” and they had all I needed for my very special day. I must add that I am a professional florist specializing in weddings, so the entire concept was more than planned a long time ago and it was there where we found the right place to develop our wedding concept; eclectic, rustic/chic with a little vintage touch.

The whole family loved the idea of joining us in Santa Rosalia and Mulege for our wedding celebration. Three days of celebrations between Santa Rosalia’s conservative French style and an eclectic relaxing atmosphere in Mulege. With my team’s support from work we travelled with everything that we needed in order to create a harmonious ambience in the place. Our color palette: peach, cream, pale pink and greens with orange accents. Wooden tables with single runners, vases of various sizes, bouquets along the tables, a perfect pergola to decorate with hundreds of ribbons and hanging votive candles. A small and very warm reception surrounded by our loved ones. A beautiful soprano sang during the ceremony and during the reception. We also had a local band as well as a local DJ. It was incredible and exceeded our expectations that we were able to find everything that we needed for our big day locally. Not to mention all the delicious meals that we enjoyed during our three day celebration inside Hotel Serenidad. The main dish for our wedding day was a Serenidad specialty for the last 40 years.

We are looking forward to celebrating anniversaries in such a great location and being only 8 hours driving from our home town of Cabo. It was definitely worth all the work and we loved the images captured by our great friend and excellent photographer Sara Richardson. She understood perfectly the style that we were looking for and what we expected. Something magical to enjoy forever!

Cabo San Lucas Wedding

Without a doubt, this is one of the most beautiful weddings you will ever see.  It’s sophisticated and fun, intimate and elegant and all kinds of pretty.  In other words, it’s Cabo San Lucas done oh-so-right, complete with seaside “I do’s” and an al fresco reception that will take your breath away.  See every gorgeous moment (and there are a lot of them) captured by Amy Bennett in the full gallery.

From the Bride… We fell in love with Esperanza the moment we arrived. From the ambiance, breathtaking ocean views, endless amenities and sense of privacy, Chad and I knew we had to have our destination wedding at Esperanza! With the love & support of our families, we started the planning process which included two site visits to the beautiful Los Cabo region. Any excuse to travel to Mexico, right?

My wedding vision all started with my dress! I purchased my Lazaro gown months before we traveled to Cabo San Lucas to scout for wedding venues. We got engaged in December 2011, and I said YES to the dress two months later in February. My dress was making its first debut off the runway at Lazaro’s trunk show at Kleinfeld bridal in NYC and I had to be there! I knew the dress was the ONE from the moment I saw it on the internet. I fell in love watching a video clip from Lazaro’s fall runway show. My dress embodied exactly how I wanted to feel on my wedding day; classic, sexy and chic! I also had the opportunity to meet my gown’s designer, Perez Lazaro, twice! At my first fitting, Lazaro helped me with the alternation of the belt so it was placed in the right location to give me some curves.

I thoroughly enjoyed the entire wedding planning process! I started my own amateur blog, adestinationwedding.com, shortly after we got engaged. From the numerous Pinterest wedding-themed boards, endless bridal magazines, web-searching for the best vendors Cabo had to offer, you could say I did my due diligence when it came to planning our wedding. I love all the little details that go into a wedding. I believe its the little details that truly capture the couple and their love for one another, and their guests. Some of my favorite details from our wedding was the personalized welcome totes and coozies, sparklers, chalkboard wedding program, my DIY bridal garter and having our favorite Esperanza margarita, Cabo Green, as our escort drink beverage!

Our wedding festivities in Cabo started with a Welcome Fiesta we hosted at the Hilton Los Cabo. Guests walked down to the beach to enjoy cocktails, hors d’ouevres & music. With the help of Lazy Gourmet & the Hilton, we set up the perfect space on the beach for guests to enjoy, including a lounge set, bean bags & a bonfire. The staff at the Hilton also greeted our guests with margaritas in our personalized wedding coozies. The rest of the weekend our guests enjoyed golfing at Pamilla, deep-sea fishing, rehearsal dinner at Hacienda Y Cantina, a sunset margarita cruise and bar-crawling.

We feel so special and loved that 67 of our closest family and friends traveled to Cabo San Lucas to witness Chad and I exchange our vows. Esperanza, and Cabo San Lucas will always have a huge part of my heart. We could not have chosen a more beautiful and romantic location to become husband and wife. Esperanza’s pool terrace overlooking the infinity pool and ocean will always be one of my favorite ceremony locations, not only because we got married there. It’s so peaceful and beautiful. I love feeling the breeze off the ocean as you stand there admiring all the beauty around you. After our ceremony, guests enjoyed a cocktail hour around the pool terrace. We surprised our guests with a mariachi band to start the celebration off in fun way! Our guests soon moved to the terraces of Esperanza’s restaurant, where they dined on the cliffs overlooking the ocean. The sun was sunsetting as we enjoyed dinner, had our first dance by Ed Sheeran “Kiss me”, and listened to speeches by my father, Maid of Honors & Best Man. The mirror runners & candles on our long tables sparkled as the night began to darken. We transitioned to our final location at Esperanza with a sparklers send-off! Chad and I ran through our guests to our final location for dancing, cigars + cocktails. Our last surprise for our guests was a cigar bar with hand-rolled vanilla cigars to enjoy overlooking yet another beautiful terrace. DJ Mijares played music all night long. We ended the night with “Love Somebody” by Maroon 5, and afterwards I took the microphone to thank everyone for traveling to our destination wedding. We had the time of our lives!

With the help of our amazing vendors in Cabo, we had our fairytale wedding (that’s what our guests are calling it!). I can not thank Amy Bennett Photography, Elements Mixed Media, Cabo Floral, Linen, Things & More, Suzanne Morel, DJ Mijares, Lazy Gourmet and Reverend Marco Arechiga enough for their professionalism & top-notch service. Some may think planning a destination wedding is difficult, but I disagree 100%. I had the most wonderful experience. Every couple should have the opportunity to work with such amazing people.

Pink Cabo San Lucas Wedding

When you cross a sun-kissed Cabo affair with the happy, pink palette, you’re in for something really, really good. Think bright, peppy blooms and perfectly styled details all sweetly captured by miss Sara Richardson. It’s the perfect way to start your Friday, and you can find lots, lots more waiting right here!

From the Bride… Scott and I were introduced by my best friend from college when she was visiting me in Venice, CA. From the moment we met the sun and the beach have always played a big role in our lives as we spend our weekends riding bikes with friends, taking our dog on walks to watch the sunset, and planning our vacations around the best beaches in the world. It was no surprise that we took our first vacation as a couple to Cabo and have loved it ever since. When Scott proposed on a mountain (trying to change it up) in Costa Rica, we knew we had to get back to the beach for our wedding.

When we named our wedding website SunKissedLove, it was only a matter of time that we planned the theme of our wedding to match – a laid back beach wedding filled with sun and the love of our friends and family. The cobblestone streets of Cabo, the beautiful beaches and the something for everyone feel of Cabo was enough to convince us it was the place for us.

We did most of our planning via the internet, Pinterest and a weekend trip down to meet with vendors. We were referred to our awesome wedding planner, Amy Abbott through friends who had gotten married in Cabo and she showed us the Hacienda Cocina y Cantina, which we immediately fell in love with. Amy also found us our team of vendors including our amazing photographer Sara Richardson and our visonary florist Pina Hernandez. Its so important to have the right wedding planner who is patient and asks just the right questions to help you realize your vision.

Amy transformed the Hacienda into an amazing oasis, complete with white papel picados strung across the dance floor with a canopy of sparkling lights. The tables were adorned with mercury vases filled with peonies, flickering candles, and gold polka dotted napkins to wipe the crumbs of the homemade churros dipped in chocolate and carmel sauce. We created our own maracas favors, name tags, and custom burlap signs with the help of our bridal party and mothers in order to infuse some of our own style. The evening entertainment included a mariachi band at cocktails, followed by a cigar roller, camera booth and midnight popsicles for those needing a cool down from the all the dancing.

It was a magical evening that went off without a hitch and ended with us surrounded by the smiles of eighty of our closest friends and family enveloping us in a tunnel of sparklers!

Mexico Wedding at Dreams Los Cabos Golf Suite & Spa Resort

Oh what I wouldn’t give to live in this wedding for a day. The gorgeous sandy beaches, the beautiful grounds of Dreams Los Cabos Golf Suite & Spa Resort, the fabulous florals from Florenta Flower Design – every image captured by Mirelle Carmichael is a destination dream come true, and you can see every bit of this beautiful wedding right here in the full gallery.

From the Bride…After the fairytale wedding proposal that involved a skydiving jump with “Will you marry me” spelled out on the ground as I was landing, I knew that Craig and I had to have a fabulous wedding to match that memorable moment. Being each from different coasts (Craig originating from Maryland, and I from California); we set out to find a location that would enable all of our closest friends and family to be a part of our special day. So instead of getting everyone to a central location in the U.S., we decided that a destination would be the perfect fit…a wedding and a vacation all in one! Randomly, we separately came up with the idea of a wedding in Mexico, and Cabo San Lucas seemed to fit all of our requirements with location, weather, and hotel options. We had previously stayed at a Dreams Resort in Punta Cana, and discovered they had a resort in Cabo. It was a match made in heaven! So plans went underway, and we enlisted the help of a local wedding planner in our current home state of North Carolina, Wil Kiser with Blue-17 Designs. Wil helped us to not only coordinate with the hotel, but he additionally worked on finding us the multiple vendors that made our day exceptional.

Our photographer, Mirelle Carmichael with Mirelle Carmichael Photography, was the first vendor that I knew that I HAD to have be part of our wedding. I had been following her work through her website for awhile, and I knew that there was no one else who I’d rather be there in Cabo with us, capturing the moments that we would treasure for a lifetime. Mirelle not only worked tirelessly throughout the wedding day ensuring that my long list of requested shots were fulfilled, she also did a mini-engagement shoot, as well as took photos of the rehearsal bonfire and dinner. Her professionalism and expertise with destination weddings made her an invaluable addition to our wedding. I show off the pictures to anyone who is willing to look on a regular basis!

Lola with Florenta Flower Design worked very closely with me from afar through multiple emails and telephone meetings. I had a definite vision of the type of shabby chic, yet elegant wedding that I wanted to have, and Lola worked relentlessly to ensure that I got exactly what I wanted. The flowers were absolutely gorgeous, the ceremony and reception décor were impeccable, and I was able to see my vision for this special day come together in such a magical way. Our DJ, Ricardo Patino, was in a word, awesome. I had compiled a list of must-have songs for the reception (who doesn’t NEED a little “Teach Me How to Dougie” at their wedding), and Ricardo was able to complement our chosen songs with other popular and current songs. The flow of the entire event was flawless, and all of our guests walked away that night with multiple songs stuck in their heads, and not wanting to leave.

The group of girls at Suzanne Morel that prepared our hair and makeup for us were absolutely remarkable. Being the picky person I am, I met up with Suzanne and her crew the day before the wedding for a run through as I wanted to ensure that the intricate hair style I was requesting could be completed. Suzanne put my mind at ease with a whip of her brush, and I left there feeling fabulous, and thrilled as to how I would look on my wedding day. The day of the wedding, every single one of my bridesmaids was pampered and felt like movie stars, with their hair pinned up just right, and exactly as requested in the pictures we provided.

And what wedding is complete without the ever popular photo booth? Dino Gomez Photography arrived at the wedding with one of the biggest photo booths we had ever seen, with an assortment of props. The large television screens that were a part of the package were awesome, as they allowed the guests to view the pictures that were being taken throughout the night.

While all of these vendors aided in making Craig and my wedding the best day of our life, Dreams Los Cabos is the definite front runner in our minds in regards to the success of our wedding week. We arrived to a beautiful landscape and a bounty of staff that were eager to aide us in whatever requests we had. Mariana, our wedding coordinator for the resort, worked endlessly to ensure that all of our plans were set in place, that our guests were enjoying their stay, and that our wedding was one to be talked about for decades to come. Our wedding was impeccable, and the staff at Dreams Los Cabos were the main ones to thank for that. Now all we have to do is plan a yearly reunion back to those magnificent beaches of Los Cabos!

Intimate Cabo San Lucas Wedding

There are long-distance relationships and then there is meeting the future love of your life right before you jet off to a deserted island to compete on Survivor.  That’s long distance and then some, but after a long stay (and win!) as a castaway, this beautiful lady returned home to marry the man of her dreams in a stunning beach ceremony.  Press play for every gorgeous moment captured by McKenzie Miller Films.

[iframe http://player.vimeo.com/video/63194099 600 338]

Want even more lovely?  Us, too.  Check out these breathtaking images captured by Fondly Forever Photography… and stop right here in the full gallery for an entire day’s worth of swooning.

From McKenzie Miller FilmsIn March of this year, Kim and Bryan gathered with 30 of their closest friends and family for an intimate and fun weekend at the Westin in Cabo San Lucas. Kim was actually the winner of the last season of Survivor, and Brian and her began dating just before she left for nine weeks on a deserted island. During their ceremony, Kim and Bryan had each of their guests give a piece of advice or well wishes and Kim’s fellow castmate commented that she knew it was the real deal when filming wrapped and Bryan wasn’t afraid to kiss Kim after she hadn’t brushed her teeth for almost two months!

The weekend was magical from start to finish. On Friday night all of the guests set sail for a whale watching cruise and saw enormous humpback whales jumping insanely close to the boat. The wedding day was just as relaxed as Kim and Bryan are together. They started off playing a game of volleyball (which is how they first met) and swimming together with their friends. About an hour before ceremony time, they made their way to different rooms to get ready. After an intimate first look in the tiny cove where the ceremony would take place, their guests made their way down and circled around the two while they said their vows. The night ended with an intimate dinner on the beach.

It was a such unique and beautiful wedding. There weren’t a ton of details, flowers or accessories, but it was so completely perfect for the two of them and the best way for them to celebrate their union.

I was the cinematographer for the event and Jen of Fondly Forever Photography was the photographer. We have been best friends for 15 years (since we were freshmen in high school!) and although we work on different coasts (NYC and LA) it has always been our dream to work together! This was the first of what is hopefully many weddings of ours together.

Flora Farms Rehearsal Dinner

There are rehearsal dinners, and then there is this amazing day captured by Alison White Photography, which can only be described as the most fun you’ve ever had, all wrapped up in some crazy gorgeous scenery.  I’m talking a stunning Flora Farms setting hosting lawn games, face painting and all kinds of yummy cotton candy (my favorite).  See every joy-filled moment right here in the full gallery.

From Alison White Photography… Most people who get married in Mexico choose a beachside location, and Heather and Matt were no exception. However, for the rehearsal dinner they moved inland and chose Flora Farm for a daytime picnic celebration. Flora Farm is an organic farm, grocery, restaurant, and bar, which also hosts unique and intimate private events.

Heather and Matt aptly named their picnic “Fun on the Farm” as they planned a myriad of activities to keep guests of all ages occupied and entertained. There were yard games such as bocce ball, potato sack races, horseshoes and croquet, as well as hula hooping, face painting and even a caricature artist.

They enjoyed several signature cocktails such as carrot margaritas and the farm julep, and the menu reflected a casual barbeque with local Mexican flair. For dessert, the guests chose from homemade peanut brittle, kettle corn, cupcakes, caramel apples and frozen paletas – a Mexican popsicle.

Heather and Matt created a wonderful event that allowed their friends and family to relax and enjoy a different feeling in Mexico. It was a wonderful precursor to their wedding, which was held on the beach the following evening.

Cabo San Lucas Destination Wedding

Instead of the big ballroom wedding with a giant guest list, this couple decided to have a super fun, relaxed, yet ridiculously beautiful Cabo San Lucas beach wedding, and oh my word, is it a treat. Sara Richardson Photography captured bright oranges and vibrant plums, papel picados waving in the wind, stunning flowers from Florenta… basically the ideal beach wedding. Pass the margarita!

From the stunning bride… It was a beautiful evening, clear skies with a nice cool breeze, blue water lapping on the sandy beach and picturesque Lands End in the background. It was a perfect backdrop for our wedding in Cabo San Lucas.

After getting engaged, Chris and I decided we would like to have a destination wedding on a beach. We come from large families and wanted to have a small, intimate wedding with our immediate family and close friends. After a couple of months of searching various beach locations, a friend recommended Cabo San Lucas. The beauty of the area was amazing and we loved how much Cabo San Lucas had to offer in restaurants, entertainment, and attractions. We had found our perfect location.

Initially we tried to pick our own venue for the wedding, but found that coordinating all the details from a thousand miles away wasn’t going to work. We were fortunate to connect with Vari Avila, a wedding planner at Allure Event. Vari recommended Hacienda Cocina y Cantina for both the ceremony and reception dinner. We liked the idea that we could get married and dine on a beach away from the crowds of the hotels. We also loved that the Hacienda’s décor reminded us of traditional Mexico and there were great views of Lands End. We were really excited that the restaurant was known to serve fantastic Mexican food.

We met with Vari the day we arrived. She greeted us with hugs and lots of enthusiasm and we knew right away that she would do anything to make our wedding day perfect. Vari and her team did an amazing job of making our dreams become a reality. The décor was beyond what we could have even imagined. The bright purple and orange floral arrangements and papel picados added a great splash of color.

The ceremony took place at sunset and gave it a warm and intimate feel. One of my favorite moments was at the end of the ceremony when our guests shook their personalized maracas for our first kiss. It was a fun, unique add-on to the ceremony. For the reception dinner, our guests enjoyed a delicious three-course meal, and instead of a wedding cake we decided to have a desert bar, which was a huge hit. The final highlight of the evening was dancing the night away under the stars.

Destination Wedding in San Jose Del Cabo Mexico from Alison White Photography

I always feel a bit spoiled when pouring over Destination weddings. Spending hours on end drooling over details in some of the most fabulous places on eart does feel a wee bit indulgent. But luckily for all of us, that’s exactly what SMP Destination is all about. Bringing you weddings like this one from Amy Abbott Events shot by Alison White that feels so incredibly decadent you can’t believe there isn’t a catch. It’s just pure gorgeous, and there is even more to devour right here.

From Alison White Photography….Heather and Matt live in Colorado, in one of the snowiest places in the country, so they decided to get away from it all and marry in sunny San Jose del Cabo, Baja Sur, Mexico. For their friends and family who made it, it was well worth the trip. They planned a week’s worth of activities, but for the wedding they chose the beautiful Campestre Beach Club where they married on the sand in front of the Sea of Cortez amid breaching whales and jumping Manta Rays. Baja was a wonderful choice in February; plenty of sun, but not too hot and a nice getaway from the cold winter.

Heather was inspired by the beachy tans, blushes and pale colors of the desert landscape, and her idea of a perfect wedding was a whimsical, yet elegant event, and one where everyone felt comfortable. They married on the beach, where a small boardwalk was set up, so that the ladies had no trouble walking in their shoes. They said their vows under a gorgeous canopy decorated lavishly with pale roses, white orchids and driftwood. It looked unbelievable under the deep blue Mexican sky! Heather and Matt included all ten of their nieces and nephews in the wedding. The girls carried nosegays and the boys held large vintage jingle bells with coordinating blush colored ribbons.

A romantic place card table designed ‘to inspire the love in all of us’ greeted the guests for the cocktail hour. They found their names hanging on a huge, decorative piece of wooden burl, on old tags attached to skeleton keys, and the table continued the vintage, beachy theme with mercury glass vases, creamy roses and orchids, succulents, and driftwood. Heather’s mother shared heart shaped sunglasses with many of the guests, and the reception was filled with ‘lovers’.

There were details to delight everywhere you looked, from the tequila bar on an antique cart to the crystal chandeliers lighting the dancing crowd with a ceiling of open sky. The mirrored bar held golden letters spelling ‘amor’, for all to remember just why they were all here.

After a few heartfelt toasts, the guests enjoyed food from around the world at several fabulous dinner stations. From the best oysters many had ever tasted to creative salads with locally grown ingredients to authentic Mexican fare, there was a flavor for every palate.

Everything was custom made for Heather and Matt to create a great Cabo experience including the bar and tables, and even the runners and napkins. Glass chargers with gold rims greeted diners at their seats, and the combination of round and long tables were decorated with driftwood, dendrobium orchids, succulents and pink roses, as well as mercury glass vases and gold chiavari chairs. A vintage lounge complete with overstuffed pillows in complimenting colors of pinks and tans allowed guests to rest in between dancing, and watch the ocean, and when the sun went down, many sat around the large fire pit to ward off the chill.

Heather and Matt kicked off the party with an unbelievable dance to a fantastic live version of “Home” by Edward Sharpe and the Magnetic Zeros. Everyone danced the night away to the live music of Kilometro. But the best surprises from the bride’s father were the Salsa dancers who came to teach the gringos a thing or two. Finally, a phenomenal display of fireworks delighted everyone with a memorable detail that truly made Heather and Matt’s wedding a night to remember.

Intimate Cabo San Lucas Wedding from Sara Richardson + Allure Event

You may or may not have heard, but the Southwest is in the middle of an (excruciatingly hot) heat wave; one that is seeing temps rise to well over 120 degrees.  And since I happen to live in one of those very hot Southwestern states, I’ve been spending my time indoors, dreaming of a vacation to a nice seaside locale like it’s my job to do so.  And when I spotted this gorgeous day from the genius that is Allure Event?  I knew immediately where I had to go.  Because if a short holiday to Cabo looks anything even close to this magical day captured perfectly by Sara Richardson (complete with a cool ocean breeze), I’m in for a world of awesome.  Click here for sooo much more.

From Allure EventWhen Virginia and Andrew contacted us a few months before their wedding and asked us to help them plan a small wedding in a private villa in Cabo, they had only a few specific requests – that the ceremony be intimate and meaningful, and that we use shades of coral, orange and cream for the color scheme. Using the bride’s inspiration photos as the base of the design, we set out to create an elegant and feminine setting using lace, soft, feminine flowers and candles, lots and lots of candles! The result was exactly what they had envisioned.

The intimate ceremony was held on an outdoor terrace facing the Cabo San Lucas bay. For the ceremony, we created two large branch arrangements with hanging dendrobium orchids and crystals, with rose buds and moss at the base and set these on white, wooden pillars which framed Virginia and Andrew as they said their vows. We lined the pool ledge and terrace with rose petals and pillar candles in glass cylinders, which later served as the backdrop for the dinner reception. A singing guitarist played an acoustic version of “Have a Little Faith” by John Wyatt as Andrew took his place at the altar and then as Virginia walked down to meet him. The ceremony was officiated in Spanish by a judge and translated to English for their guests.

After the vows, the new bride and groom were whisked away to the beach for some romantic sunset photos and we began to transform the ceremony space for dinner. In order to ensure an intimate setting, we set a rectangular table which allowed for all guests to sit together. We draped the chairs with custom made lace covers which added a romantic feel to the setting. For the centerpiece, we designed a lush floral arrangement using roses, phalaenopsis orchids, ranunculus and succulents and surrounded it with an assortment of vintage pressed and cut glass in varying heights, filling these with small flower bouquets, cut roses, and votive candles. We kept the final table design a secret and completely surprised the couple as they made their way back to the villa.

The wedding cake was carrot-orange cake with orange cream cheese filling. The sweet, two tier cake was designed to recreate the gorgeous bodice detail of Virginia’s Vera Wang Dress.

Cabo San Lucas, Mexico Wedding from Sara & Rocky Photography

This wedding came at the perfect time.  I say that, because I’ve been hemming and hawing over a trip to Cabo for what seems like forever and, I swear to you, this breathtaking beauty just pushed me over the edge.  Sure, my trip won’t be filled to the brim with devastatingly gorgeous florals from Florenta Flower Design, glittery gold accents and one of the most stunning gowns I have ever laid my eyes upon, but if it elicits even 1/10th of the happiness that these images from Sara & Rocky Photography have brought me, I’ll consider myself one VERY lucky traveler.  Indeed.  See it all in the full gallery.

From Sara & Rocky PhotographyKat & Earl were married in Cabo on the beach on December 8th. They rented out this amazing villa on the beach, and had their ceremony in the sand and the reception on the terrace. Her dress was amazing, she also sewed in a blue heart from one of her dad’s old shirts underneath her dress. The details were gorgeous, beautiful flowers, gold and navy sequin tablecloths, and gold and white striped taper candles. For their sign in book, they had all of the guests write on cards to put in a book about their favorite memory of them, or best marriage advice, etc.

Mexico Wedding at Cabo Azul Resort from Callaway Gable

The second my eyes graced all the gorgeous sitting in this post, I was a goner. I knew from that moment on, I would spend this day drooling over all the Cabo prettiness captured by Callaway Gable, inevitably delaying my productivity a bit. But it’s worth it and then some, because every image is a dream come true. And the couple in the middle of it all? They are a vision, making your hours spent in this gallery feel like you are flipping through the most stylish of magazines. See it all here.

From the Bride…We both love to travel and knew we wanted to tie the knot in a destination setting but wanted it close enough so most of our guest would be able to attend the celebration with us. Since we live in California and a lot of our guests were from California we choose Cabo San Lucas, Mexico. I knew I wanted to keep everything very simple and clean because I did not want to take away from the beautiful architecture. My colors were light grey, tan, white and an accent of green. The wedding was held in a beautiful wooden chapel that looks over the water. It is open on both ends to let the ocean breeze through and it has a giant iron cross hanging down in the front. The chapel was not a working chapel but an architectural setting for weddings to take place. This all took place at The Cabo Azul Resort.

We had a traditional Christian Ceremony and my father was the one who officiated the wedding. It was a very emotional ceremony for everyone because he was able to tell personal stories that were from the heart. The ceremony was very personal to us since my father was marrying us and he was able to tell specifics from our lives that everyone was able to relate to. It was also very emotional because he was giving away his first daughter to a man that she loves.

The reception was held at Javier’s Restaurant on the deck outside which was also located at the resort and  My husband surprised everyone by hiring fire dancers and it was such a hit. Even people from other resorts and people who had been walking on the beach came over to see the amazing show. Friends of ours had their yacht there and they let us take it out for a week after the wedding. We invited 3 other couples from the wedding party and all lived on the boat for a week. We fished, snorkeled, swam with sea lions and went exploring in all the cities around Cabo. My favorite memory of the day was my husband’s speech to me during the reception. I had never heard my husband speak in public and it was the most beautiful speech and I could tell he meant every word he said

Cabo San Lucas Wedding at Cabo Azul Resort from Spencer Combs

“Contagiously fun.”  That’s how I knew this wedding was going to be awesome.  Those two little words spoken by a bride that knows a thing or two about planning a gorgeous wedding.  A gorgeous wedding, mind you, that is bursting with rustic meets modern details, breathtaking images from Spencer Combs and a night of “unstoppable dancing.”  Yep, unstoppable dancing.  Are these two crazy cool or what?  Click here for sooo much more and then stay tuned for even more lovely from Modern 8 Films below.

From the Bride… Our vision for the wedding was simple, modern, fresh, rustic but most importantly – we wanted it to be contagiously fun. We were determined to find a beautiful setting that consisted of rustic, sunny beaches, and to basically find a wedding chapel that was equally as breathtaking – and this is essentially what we experienced at Cabo’s Azul’s El Corazon, a five story wedding chapel with candlelit waterfalls and the Sea of Cortez as our romantic backdrop. For our reception, we wanted to treat our family and friends to an awe-inspiring oceanfront terrace where we could dance the night away.

As a corporate event planner, this was going to be the first wedding I was going to plan – and boy, was it a blast! I worked very closely with Cabo’s leading event/linen decor designer – Suzanne Morel’s Linen Things and More. We came up with a burlap-inspired concept that tied into our soft gray and blush palettes. Burlap was used as table runners, candle wrappers and even in our invitations that were created by Beacon Lane.

And while I wanted to create as many handmade items for our wedding, timing proved to be a challenge. That’s when I turned to Etsy and fell in love with so many inspiring self-made items. Instead of having a typical guest book, I wanted to tie in our love for champagne and so we decided to use our favorite champagne, Moet, as our wedding guest signing piece, which we plan on opening at a future anniversary. Makes for a wonderful keepsake, too!

For our ceremony, we incorporated Filipino wedding traditions that included the lighting of candles that were lit by our parents first to symbolize their blessings, followed by the tying of the cord to symbolize unity, and the placement of a veil to grant us protection and shelter. Our wedding ceremony was probably the best part of our day, where we exchanged our own vows in front of our most beloved family and friends. It was truly the most amazing experience.

And after an evening of great food and unstoppable dancing, Fred and I wanted to come up with something unique and special to wrap up our wedding day and it was perhaps the most romantic endings we were so happy to have carried out. We invited our guests to the beach at midnight, where they stood in a circle around us, sparklers lit and blazing, while we had our last dance to David Grey’s “This Year’s Love.” It was magical.

We are delighted to share our day with you and with the love of family and friends, our wedding was beyond anything we could have ever imagined.

Los Cabos Wedding from Parker J Pfister Photography

If ever there was a moment where I was about to drop everything and jet off to Mexico, it would be this moment. The culprit? This gorgeous destination wedding crafted by Fiestas Los Cabos and Elena Damy.  From the second I laid eyes on the images from Parker J Pfister Photography I was done with snow and winter and so, so ready for sunshine and margaritas. They play extra nice with south of the border “I Dos”.  See for yourself right here in the full gallery.

From the Bride… From the moment we got engaged Kenny and I knew we wanted to kick off our marriage celebrating with family and friends in a warm and fun location. The One and Only Palmilla in Cabo was a natural choice since it was the first place we vacationed together. We envisioned a relaxing and fun weekend with activities for our guests to enjoy. Judging by the fact that people are still talking about it I think we more than fulfilled our vision!

Everything from our save the date box filled with stationary by Ceci New York, a mini bottle of patron and a sombrero to the welcome bag with beach balls, waterproof iPod speakers, Cuban cigars, and other vacation essentials set the tone for the weekend to come.

We started the weekend festivities with a beautiful sunset cruise on the Sea of Cortez. The following day our guests enjoyed a beachside yoga session and a golf tournament aptly named the “Ashley and Kenny Classic.” Friday’s rehearsal dinner was held at the Office and featured their famous margaritas and fire dancers. Our wedding day’s sunset ceremony, fireworks when we cut the cake, and 2 am jump in Palmilla’s fountain were the perfect ending to a weekend we will never forget.

Cabo San Lucas Wedding from Jennifer Lindberg Weddings

When we’re not spending our time obsessing over the work of Jennifer Lindberg Weddings, we’re spending our time drooling over her brand spankin’ new blog, Most of All, I Remember, so it pretty much goes without saying – we’re big, big fans.  So big, in fact, that when she sent along this breathtaking Cabo San Lucas affair, we let out a collective gasp.  Because when Jennifer teams up with the geniuses at Elena Damy Floral & Event Design, the Esperanza Resort and the oh-so-talented Allison R. Banks, it’s always a guaranteed day of pretty.  One that rocks oceanside views and a stunning couple that just couldn’t wait to say I Do.  Join me in the gallery for more.

From the Bride… I had wanted to get married in Cabo for as long as I could remember, and it truly could not have been a more beautiful or more perfect day. It had rained the night before, so when I woke up that morning and pulled the curtains back, I was thrilled to see that it was gorgeous out. The sun was shining and the ocean was sparkling below, and I just knew it was going to be the best day of my life. I had a few friends up to my suite for breakfast, and then we all headed down to the pool to relax and visit with our guests while Michael finished up his round of golf from the day before. It was so fun to see everyone having such a great time together, and the hotel even had a roaming neck massage therapist visit the pool to quell any lingering jitters and cap off the perfect afternoon.

My suite overlooked the site where our ceremony was going to be held, so I got to watch it all come together while I was getting dressed. My sister (the maid of honor) and all of my best friends joined me for champagne and some treats from the hotel while I finished preening, and everyone was kind enough to stand in awe when I finally walked out in my dress. We got some beautiful pictures before the ceremony, and it was so fun to spend a little time with everyone before the big moment. My father passed away when I was in high school, so I had asked the dad of one of my very best friends to walk me down the aisle. It was the perfect choice, and I couldn’t have been happier to have him at my side. When I finally met Michael at the altar, the feeling was unbelievable. I was so excited to see him and couldn’t wait to say “I do.” During the planning, I had made an effort to make sure that our outdoor ceremony still felt like we were in a church. The Beesons had been kind enough to fly our Episcopalian minister in from Houston to officiate the service. The florist made us a custom floral cross that was breathtaking and even had pillows made just for me and Michael so that we could kneel during the Lord’s Prayer. All of those details really made the ceremony so meaningful to both of us, and I am very grateful to everyone for making it happen.

We took some more beautiful pictures with our wedding party on the beach, and then we said our vows again with just our families in front of a Mexican justice of the peace with one of Michael’s best friends translating. For something that was a mere formality to make things legal, it turned out to be pretty special too, and I loved getting to say “Si!” when she asked if I would take Michael as my husband. We joined everyone for cocktails and danced to our first song,”That’s How Strong My Love Is” by Otis Redding, while everyone took their seats for dinner on the terrace. The setting was just amazing. Our florist did an incredible job capturing my vision, and our calligrapher’s work on the menus and place cards just made it all the more beautiful. We even had a super moon overhead to provide some spectacular waves crashing on the rocks. There may have been a bit of a splash zone, but it was all so beautiful that no one cared. My mom gave the most perfect toast before dinner, of course aimed at telling Michael just how lucky he was to have found me. We had an amazing meal, followed up by wedding cake and Ole Miss-themed, red velvet groom’s cake, two fireworks shows, and a hell of a good time on the dance floor. It was magical, and I couldn’t feel luckier that it all actually happened.
