From Elizabeth FogartyWhen planning a fall wedding on the coast line of Maryland with a timeless style and perfectly in love couple, there can not be much more to look forward to. Amelia and Jake tied the knot at Silver Swan Bayside in late October surrounded by their loved ones and all the lush blooms and foliage you could ask for. From the beautiful calligraphy boards by the bride, to the speeches by family members, to the plan B ceremony, everything was perfect.

On the wedding day, we woke up to the windiest and coldest day that fall on the shore. We quickly realized that the outdoor ceremony plans would have to be moved indoors. With positive hearts and an incredible team of professionals, we moved Amelia’s garden inspired look inside flawlessly. They shared their vows under a beautiful arch by Blossom & Vine, then head into a soft and elegant cocktail space overlooking the bayside. Jake’s priceless reaction to his beautiful bride-to-be walking down the aisle was the best representation of their love, and was one of my favorite moments.

Amelia and Jake made a point to involve their families wherever possible, and it made the day that much more special. Amelia’s brother started off the reception with a heart felt toast then asked all the guests to the dining room for dinner followed by toasts by her father, sister and Jake’s brother. The enjoyed their meal over hand crafted farm tables and candle light. The rest of the night consisted of many laughs, happy tears, a full dance floor and the start to an incredible life surrounded by all of their favorite people.

A Seaside Elegance Styled Wedding Shoot

Inspiration shoots are a place where dreams can come to life for talented folks like Claire Duran Weddings And Event, and I couldn’t be more thankful she made this stunning seaside shoot a reality.  With a team of talents including Intrigue Design & DecorButtercream Bakeshop and Julie Ha Calligraphy – this gallery beautifully captured byPhotos by Sarah Beth is blue-hued coastal perfection.

From Photos by Sarah BethThis wedding inspiration shoot is a celebration of the sea — its color, its movement, its beauty. The setup was designed as an elegant sea-side reception with hues of blues, whites, grays and subtle blush undertones. We were thinking of a couple who wants to embrace the coastal surroundings while forgoing many of the traditional beach elements.

Classic + Romantic Wedding at the Chesapeake Bay Beach Club

I’m describing this Chesapeake Bay Beach Club affair as romantic, but honestly?  It’s so much more than that.  Think the classic stylings of Kruse & Vieira Events, beautiful florals crafted by Petal And Print and the sweetest British meets American touches.  In other words?  It’s absolute perfection… and you can see it all captured beautifully by Krista A. Jones in THE VAULT right here.

From the Bride…. Justin and I met soon after I moved to London from Maryland for my Master’s degree six years ago. I’ve always had an obsession with British culture and history and knew from an early age that I would eventually marry a Brit!

Although we met and still live in London, we both wanted to have our wedding close to my family in Maryland and on the water – something a bit different from the usual English garden wedding. We had over 40 people come over from the UK and wanted to incorporate a few nods to British culture throughout the day. Our signature cocktails were The Brit and The Yank, which consisted of a cucumber rose gin and tonic and sweet tea vodka, respectively. Some of the flowers littered throughout the venue were held in vintage tea tins, and Justin and his groomsmen looked very handsome in the traditional English morning suit. We had a cricket (Justin’s true love) theme for our escort board and table names, which our planners, Kruse & Vieira Events, executed without flaw. As a lover of Tudor history, we also had the Tudor rose as a rose gold wax stamp on all of the place card names.

K&V Events saw our vision for a dual-nationality, glam wedding with a loose, romantic and organic feel (quite the brief) instantly. They were able to turn every area of the venue into something better than we could have imagined, including arranging some of the flower decor. Petal & Print put together our gorgeous bouquets, boutonnieres and centerpieces in a loose style with creams and whites, soft pinks and lots of greens. From the soft breeze and lapping water during the ceremony to the absolute best filet mignon and crab cake, the Chesapeake Bay Beach Club was the perfect venue, and Krista and Davey from Krista A. Jones Photography captured the soft golden light of the sun setting perfectly. All set to music from the beautiful voice and acoustic guitar of the 3West Band, the day was intimate, elegant and strangely relaxing.

From start to finish we and our guests were so impressed by all of our vendors – we could never give them enough praise nor gratitude for helping to turn one of the most important days of our lives into an absolute dream.

From the Bride… Brian and I met during my second year of college at the University of Georgia. His sister, Emily, and I became friends while living in the same dorm our freshman year and the following year Brian and his parents came down to Athens to visit. After a group dinner where Brian and I met and discovered our mutual love for food, I knew he was special. We spent the next two years in a long distance relationship flying back and forth between Maryland and Georgia. One of our favorite things to do when I would visit him was to go to Annapolis. We would spend hours walking around and sitting on the benches down at city dock and eventually that became the exact place where Brian got down on one knee and proposed over five years later! Between our love for Annapolis and the fact that Brian grew up across the Bay Bridge on the Eastern Shore, where we spent countless weekends, we knew we wanted to get married somewhere near the water. We chose to get married at Chesapeake Bay Beach Club after falling in love with the gorgeous views! There aren’t enough words to describe how incredible our wedding day was and how much it meant to us to have our family and closest friends there to celebrate with us. From the delicious seafood to the Dolle’s caramel popcorn, Smith Island Cakes and country music, our wedding truly captured Brian and I as a couple. One of the most special things for me was that I got to wear the same beaded belt around my dress that my two best friends wore during each of their weddings. All of our vendors went above and beyond to make our day so special and we can’t thank them enough! I honestly don’t think I’ve ever smiled, giggled, or felt as much pure joy and happiness as much as I did throughout the day!

Golden Chesapeake Bay Beach Club Wedding

One look at this cozy Chesapeake Bay Beach Club and it’s stop-you-in-your-tracks stunning. I mean, just look at this cake! Proving that winter weddings are some of our favorites, this piece of pretty is filled with all things sweet and a love with sharing. Stacy Bauer captured every minute of their romantic affair and it’s waiting for you here!

From the beautiful Bride… In April 2014, Evan proposed. I was so excited and naturally went into planning mode immediately. I always thought that I would get married on a warm sunny day in the Spring or Summer. I imagined the beautiful greenery, bright sunny skies and dancing under the moonlight. Since I was unable to to plan a wedding for that Summer in a matter of months, I realized that I also didn’t want to wait a year or more to get married the following Summer either.

Before I knew it, I was considering a winter wedding, which was that sweet spot amount of time that I wanted to spend planning, about 9 months. The idea of a winter wonderland wedding started to appeal to me and I soon started looking up beautiful icy color motifs and bright white flowers. I dreamed of snow. I wanted to stay away from anything Holiday related, so was sure to avoid anything red, green or tartan.

Checking the weather leading up to the wedding was a nerve wracking experience. It went from unseasonably warm, to bitter cold and finally, 100% chance of cold rain, the entire day. My sweet friends and family repeated the old adage of “rain is good luck on your wedding day” to me as I moved onto acceptance that it would be a cold rainy mess.

The morning of the wedding it was indeed very cold and very wet, but I was more excited to marry my best friend than to worry about the weather forecast.

The wedding was located on the Chesapeake Bay with huge windows overlooking a beautiful misty view of the Bay Bridge. Guests scurried in holding gifts and umbrellas for shelter. The ceremony was held in front of a huge fireplace with beautiful gold floating and pillared candles lit and a large white wreath on the mantle. The reception had a long banquet style table where our closest family members and friends sat with 8 round tables surrounding it. We had alternating gold sequin runners that reflected the warm candlelight from all around. The tables were high-low, some with simple green and white floral arrangements with gold bird confetti scattered on the stark white table cloth; others with dramatic sweeping tree branches with tea light candles hanging from them. The reception was filled with good music, food, laughter and warmth.

The warm feeling I had always dreamed of had come true and I am convinced that the rain made it feel all the more cozy and inviting. Being surrounded in a beautiful candlelit venue, with all of our family and friends made us feel all the more content and happy to be under one roof. In the end, I never had my warm sunny Spring wedding I always envisioned; we had something better.

Lesson of the day?  Navy and tangerine makes one seriously pretty pair, especially when teamed up with the creative minds behind this gorgeous shoot at the Chesapeake Bay Beach Club.  I’m talking the talented Laura HooperKari Rider EventsAmie Decker Beauty and Crimson & Clover (among others) joining forces to craft a bundle of inspiration that is equal parts luxurious and romantic, with a dash of masculinity thrown in for good measure.  See it all captured by Natalie Franke right here.

From Natalie FrankeWeddings are often all about the bride, but we can’t forget about her handsome prince charming! By blending richer tones with masculine details like a Styled Bourbon Bar and Mini Cigar Station, we created a space that was gent friendly at the Chesapeake Bay Beach Club! Mix in luscious florals and calligraphy by the ever-talented Laura Hooper and this shoot was one for the record books!

I especially loved our naked cake that complimented the barrel table so beautifully. And one of our favorite designers, Enaura Bridal, provided the gorgeous gown that was handmade in New York City! A classic white Rolls Royce made a perfect getaway car for our newlyweds who modeled as a bride and groom! Everything was swoon worthy!
