Elegant Tented Lake Wedding

Just like the stunning Bride, having grown up on a lake during my childhood summers, this wedding from Jessica Hendrix is tugging at my heartstrings. I can almost smell the fresh country air and feel the breeze flowing through the Sperry Tent. With Main Street Fine Catering behind the exceptional catering and unbelievable cake, I'm betting this little shindig will wow you after just one peek.

From the beautiful Bride… We knew right away that we wanted to be married on my parents estate where I had grown up and where, my now husband and I, live very close to. We wanted this day to be very special and elegant, but comfortable. I was very clear from the start as to the look and feel I was going for; elegant country. I can honestly say I would not have changed one vendor or one detail.

For our wedding, all of our vendors were incredible. We decided to have a Sperry Tent to hold the reception—what a beautiful, grand tent! The ceremony was in the garden in front of the 5 acre lake which was set a golden glow as the sun sat in fall late afternoon sky. Kim Haggerty of the Pod Shop in New Hope, PA did such an incredible job capturing the elegant, but organic arrangements which contained French country roses, fruit and willow branches. She saw my ideas through perfectly and also made wonderful suggestions which we included. We chose peaches, greens and some deeper purples for our flower colors. The property and tables were set a twinkle with tons of candles and votives as well. Main Street Catering also was hands down the best decision for our celebration. Christopher and I love local, clean, seasonal food with an Asian flare—they offered such delicious, beautiful food—it was really quite overwhelming. Their service staff and on site coordinator were professional, fun and very accommodating. They took care of everything from the rentals, the bar, and of course, the food.

We chose a 7 piece band for the reception, a jazz trio for cocktails and an acoustic guitar for the ceremony. Franklin and Alison Orchestra provided all music equipment, musicians, and set up. From our engagement to our wedding, Jessica Hendrix took the most wonderful photographs. She captured so many wonderful moments with such a talented eye for composition and content. Our photographs were given to us in a very timely manner and we used her to make prints, which were gorgeous quality.

Some of the other vendors with smaller roles, but no less important, nor impressive were: Bijiou Bridal on the Main Line for my wedding dress and my maid of honors dress, The Paper Unicorn in Doylestown PA for beautifully printed announcements, invitations, and table numbers and cards, Craig of AKA Salon in New Hope for hair and makeup, Phillips Fine Wines for alcohol, and we used Mercer Museum tiles, in Doylestown, for our guest favors—small handmade ceramic acorns.

All in all it was, truly, the best day of our lives. My husband and I feel so blessed to have such amazing, loving friends and family to celebrate this day with us. Every single person involved in this day made it special. We had so much fun. We danced, ate, drank and started this new chapter of our lives together with such gusto! I feel so lucky to wake up everyday next to my husband who I just adore, with memories of a wedding I just adored.
