A Romantic Rehearsal Dinner Overlooking the Ocean

We started off with a Welcome Party to remember and now we’re at the Rehearsal Dinner for our epic Hawaiian wedding weekend. Joel Serrato captured every second and for this romantic rehearsal, we have leis, cocktails and sweet moments on a golf course overlooking the ocean. Is this real life!? Oh yes it is!
P.S. Check out the BIG DAY aka the wedding on our Main Page right now too!

From the Bride… When you have the ability to have a party on the golf course in Lana’i at sunset you definitely take advantage. We wanted our guests to be able to take in the beautiful views while enjoying cocktails and canapes the night before the big day. We greeted all the female guests with a lei which continued to embrace the Aloha spirit and also made for some cute pictures.

A Tropical Vacay That Ends With a Really Gorgeous Wedding

For this Bride and Groom, a dream wedding entailed a multi-day celebration that felt like a vacation for friends and family and just so happened to end with a really great party. We like the way they think! The Four Seasons Lana’i played host to this tropical affair crafted by Brooke Keegan Special Events and Mandy Grace Designs. Imagine the undeniable beauty of Hawaii paired with elegant, tropical details all captured by Joel Serrato, plus a film by Aaron Novak too.

From the bride… Michael and I both agreed that our perfect wedding would be a multi-day celebration that felt like a vacation and ended with a wedding. What better place to make this happen than the Four Seasons Lana’i. When we were choosing our wedding location one of our favorite parts of Lana’i was that all of our guests would stay together on the same property and that all of our events would also take place at various locations throughout the resort. Once our wedding location was finalized, we kicked off planning with Brooke Keegan and quickly developed our vision for the weekend. We wanted our wedding weekend to be destination appropriate, fun, authentic, thoughtful but not overdone, timeless, festive and most importantly memorable. Everything that Brooke created was spot on. The color palette, unique details, the team she built, her creativity, all came together to create the most perfectly curated island wedding. After dining and dancing under a full moon we capped off the night with the most incredible display of fireworks. Our wedding exceeded every expectation that we ever had –– everything was perfect!

Pineapple Margaritas in Hawaii… Can We Get An Invite To This Welcome Party ASAP!?

A destination wedding in Hawaii is pretty fabulous in and of itself but add in a whole celebratory weekend and this is not to be missed. To kick off festivities, the Bride and Groom hosted a welcome party complete with pineapple margaritas and live music (does it get any better!?). Captured by Joel Serrato, we have all the fun below – and more coming all day long. Don’t miss the engagement (live now on our Main Page!) and the rehearsal dinner and wedding later on today!

From the Bride… Michael and I were so excited to start the celebrations and to welcome our guests that we couldn’t even wait for the official welcome party. We had a welcome party before the welcome party and greeted every single shuttle as it arrived from the airport. When official festivities kicked off, we hosted all of our guests with a colorful welcome party starring pineapple margaritas and mai tai’s. All of our guests mingled to live music and amazing food prepared by Malibu Farms. We incorporated a number of playful details such as our custom cocktail napkins with the phrase, “Party Like A Pineapple” which really set the tone for a relaxed fun filled weekend. This was the perfect way to welcome everyone to Lana’i, spend quality time with our guests and celebrate the spirit of aloha.

From Christine ClarkAshley and Jason’s wedding on Oahu was full of gorgeous, elegant details – bare wood, flowing runners, a tropical bar, and the prettiest flower girl ring, all set amongst the lush beauty of Hawaii. Lucia Events created a magical atmosphere of island sophistication in the cozy, private setting of the Mahakea Estate. With the ocean one step away and the Hawaiian breezes ruffling the trees, there could not have been a more perfect setting. Guaranteed You’ve Never Seen a Maui Wedding Like This Before

This gem is about to throw all preconceived notions of Hawaiian weddings right out the window. Mixing the bride’s Sicilian roots with the beauty of an olive farm, this celebration is in a category all its own. We’ll call it tropical upcountry without a beach insight. Or gorgeous. That works too. Planned by Belle Destination Weddings & Events, with vibrant florals by Mandy Grace Designs and images by Dmitri & Sandra, get cozy with this pretty olive grove affair.

From the Bride, Anna…Tyler and I met five years ago on a summer evening in Sacramento. We happened to sit by each other at an otherwise empty dive bar on a Friday evening – I was waiting for my friends and he happened to be walking by and decided to stop in. We both felt very unlucky and fed up with the dating pool at the time, but when we struck up a conversation instincts told us we wouldn’t have to look any further for our soulmate. We exchanged numbers and he called and asked me out on a date the very next day. Two years later we moved to Oregon together where we built a home (literally and figuratively – he’s a contractor!) and a year and a half after moving Tyler proposed to me. It was very low key – he simply asked me after I came home one day and took me to a romantic French dinner in Portland. For us, it was perfect.

We had recently been to Maui and I asked Tyler if that is where he’d like to get married because he grew up there. He shot it down at first! He used to make and sell leis at Mama’s Fish House to newlyweds and wedding guests on the beach and thought a Maui wedding could only be that one style. I thought it would be the perfect place though – Maui is gorgeous and it has so much history for him and his family. I found pictures of an upcountry wedding and immediately knew that was what we would do, and when I suggested the upcountry idea to Tyler his whole outlook changed. When our event planner, Lena of Belle Destination Events, shared her personal wedding venue of Calasa Olive Farm in Kula we fell in love. I have Sicilian heritage so it was a perfect representation of the two of us.

Our vision for the day was for it to be outdoor, romantic, and colorful. Sicilian tiles, the color of the venue and the natural beauty of Maui were the big inspirations for me in terms of the colors. I wanted the colors to be saturated to capture the heat of the summer and the lush surroundings. We wanted the furniture materials to be organic – a lot of wood, stone and metal because that’s what Tyler works with everyday. We bought tiles online used them as name settings and coasters. Tyler liked the tiles so much he used them for our invitations, which he designed himself. Mandy from Mandy Grace Designs did a wonderful job of bringing our vision of flowers to life. We were married during Dahlia season and I told her to go wild with the Dahlias – they’re my favorite flower. The deep red flowers are a particular favorite and were the inspiration for the accent color throughout the floral and table arrangements. I was especially enamored with the hanging installation over our dance floor, which was something I wanted from day one.

My dress is Yolan Cris and is two layers of hand made Spanish lace with a silk shell underneath. It is gorgeous and I’m still in awe of it. The train is reminiscent of my grandmother’s dress when she was married in the 1920’s – my sisters remarked that I did pictures “Adele style” when I wrapped my train in front of me. I grew up adoring my grandmother’s wedding dress from their wedding photo so that was a very special feeling for me that day. I had unfortunately sprained my ankle badly a month before my wedding so although I couldn’t wear the high heels I had originally planned, I wore beautiful embroidered sandals instead. My bridesmaids dresses are Show Me Your Mumu. I gave everyone their choice of dress design and the option of a print or solid. Everyone chose the print! I was super excited about that. I love colors and patterns and it was awesome that my girlfriends naturally gravitated towards the pattern.

From Beautiful Blues to Sweet Slushies, This Hawaiian Wedding Gets It Oh So Right

The beauty of the ocean – and its amazing color palette – inspired this Hawaiian celebration and we couldn’t be more on board. That is, until we saw the slushies that were served to the lucky guests and our adoration level immediately jumped up several notches. LVL Weddings & Events rocked it when it came to planning this party and it’s the little details (like said slushies) that make us want to come back time and time again to check out more of Brandon Kidd’s pics. Join us in the gorgeous gallery right this way to see them all!

From the Bride… Matthew and I had been friends for over ten years before we even considered dating. Our friendship strengthened over a few years of planning and hosting a fundraiser for a nonprofit organization based in our hometown, until he finally asked me out on my birthday weekend! Our families have known each other for as long as I can remember and I remember being nervous over how my parents would take the news. Almost immediately, our family and friends were completely supportive our relationship. My mom even said she knew it would happen eventually! Within a year, we became engaged and started to plan our dream wedding.

One thing I love most about Matthew is his love for his family and for mine. Thus, it was only natural to desire to plan a wedding for us all to celebrate together in honor of family. Since we always vacationed in Hawaii, it was only natural to invite our extended families to the North Shore of Oahu at Turtle Bay Resort, a place very dear to our hearts. We planned a three day celebration that included a big welcome luau on the first day, a rehearsal dinner on the second and, of course, the wedding ceremony and reception on the third.

I wanted to have a God and family honoring, classic wedding, but I also really wanted to be able to incorporate super “cool”, unique elements into it all. I instantly knew I wanted to have classic white color palette with lots of greenery to go with our Hawaiian destination. My love for the ocean and Matthew’s love for the snowy mountains led me to choose indigo blue and silver accent colors. I admit, I was so daunted by planning a wedding. The best advice came from my mom, who told me that I had already found the most important detail (a good husband!).

Some of my favorite elements for the wedding were the wedding invitations, our florals and, of course, my dress. I was really looking for unique ways to incorporate my style into the wedding. We were very happy to have LVL Weddings coordinate our wedding as they brought all my scattered ideas and inspirations to a united whole. A good example was with the bridesmaids’ dresses. I really wanted my bridesmaids to find something that flattered and suited them, so I let them decide what to order. I was so amazed at how each girl looked so beautiful individually and how they all looked together.

Our ceremony was held on Kuilima Point at the Turtle Bay Resort on a lawn almost completely surrounded by the ocean. On a perfectly sunny Hawaiian day, and our family and friends were greeted with Honey Lilikoi and Dragonfruit Slushies from Wicked HI Slush. As our guests arrived, they were entertained by a string quartet, Oahu Strings. Passion Roots created an 8′ lush semi-circle ground arrangement of lush greenery and white misty to surround us while we recited our vows. The reception tent was so stunning. Passion Roots installed this jaw-dropping greenery chandelier that went across the center. I felt like we were partying in a garden. I loved how everything was so green and lush. I was shocked at how beautiful the napkins and table runners were that LVL hand dyed. I felt that it all elevated the natural beauty of Hawaii and perfectly reflected our style. It was just so amazing to see all these ideas come together on the best day of our lives.

Acts of love and surprise made the wedding so much more beautiful and special for Matthew and me. My grandfather has been a minister for over 50 years. It was so special to have him marry us because he also married all of his children including my mom to my dad. During the ceremony, my brother and Matthew’s cousin performed some of our favorite music. Matthew and I were able to honor our parents with letters and leis during the ceremony. We had the the most amazing steak and lobster from the chef at Turtle Bay. I even got to eat, a lot! Everyone had such a great time while we were able to sneak away to the point with our videographer and photographer. There were so many surprises that I will never forget. There were surprise slideshows and songs. It was so amazing that my dad got Jake Shimabukuro to come do a surprise performance at the wedding. I still can’t believe that happened!

The wedding was so incredibly awesome and I’m happy it was captured by the best photographers and videographers. This was something that I felt was going to be so important and so we hired the best of the best. Brandon and Kristen Kidd and Aaron from Makai Creative took all our worries away by flawlessly capturing every important aspect of the day. I was so thankful with how easy they were to work with and how personable they were. We really want to thank all the professional vendors that made everything possible. Honestly, I felt that everything was perfect.

Gorgeous Venue + Dress Designed By Bride = STUNNING SUCCESS

This venue, Haiku Mill, has long been a favorite of mine, so it’s safe to say this wedding caught my attention from the get-go. However, add in this dress – designed by the Bride herself – and we’re talking a whole other level of lovely now. We’re talking total favorite status here. Christine Clark did the locale and the gorgeous couple justice with her perfect pics and this gallery of inspiring images is nothing short of stunning, from their ceremony to their sweet beach portraitsright this way!

Colors

From Christine Clark… Rebecca and Scott’s wedding took place at the always amazing Haiku Mill on Maui. Nestled in the hills of Haiku, the mill is an oasis of overgrown, old world beauty. The ceremony took place in the Mill with a cascade of flowers lining the steps where the vows were spoken. Chandeliers hung from above, adding accents of sparkling glint to the old stone and growth. The cocktail reception was laid out under the shade of the mango tree with lights woven through the branches. The bar featured favorite spirits and signature drinks for guests.

Rebecca, a former wedding gown designer in Australia, was radiant in a dress she designed herself. The beading and flowing tulle were a perfect feature for the Mill’s surroundings and enchanting light. We ended the day with a portrait session at a nearby beach, taking advantage of the sunset light and beautiful Maui ocean. The whole day was a dream, in an absolute fairytale setting. Rebecca and Scott, surrounded by family and friends, reveled in the gorgeous day, glowing with happiness.

It’s All About the Lace in This Old World Bridal Inspiration

This bridal inspiration shoot is all about the old world, European feel, and we’re kind of obsessed with it. The intricate gowns, Sardinia lace veil, Trumpet & Horn vintage ring, and delicate florals by Designs by Hemingway all pay homage to the past yet are still fresh for today’s Bride wanting for a romantic, nostalgic look. Christine Clark captured this gorgeous session, and there’s more waiting for you in the Vault.

From Christine Clark“They just don’t make them like they used to.” Nothing can be more true of antique lace and diamonds. For this shoot, we wanted to pull together some old world charm and combine it with delicate florals. Nothing can match the exquisite beauty of vintage lace, and our two gowns were beautiful showcases for it. Our first gown was Edwardian and mesmerizing in its imaginative intricacy, while our second gown of romantic tambour lace was a beautiful pairing with a veil of Sardinia lace. The florals created by Debbie Hemingway featured the riotous textures of dahlias with soft blushes of dusty lavender roses. Their delicate colors and textures were a perfect complement to our gowns. The loveliest vintage ring from Trumpet & Horn was the crowning detail to pull everything together.

The Bride lives in NYC and the Groom in LA, yet somehow the make it work – so what better place to get away from it all and really cherish the oh-so-precious time they have together than Hawaii? Wendy Laurel captured their bright and tropical wedding with bohemian flair, from the Bride’s loose waves and natural beauty look by Maui Makeup Artistry to the the bold floral crown by Dellables adorning her head.

One of the Most Beautiful Spots in Hawaii to Tie the Knot

This Four Seasons Resort Lanai wedding brings together the beauty of the beach with the glamour of a ballroom affair. And that ceremony view! It’s a show-stopper like only Hawaii can produce. Add to that a talented team of vendors including design by Belle Destination Weddings & Events, florals by Mandy Grace Designs and images captured by Ashley Goodwin and the result is dreamy destination “I Do’s”.

From Clara Soh & Elbert Huh via Belle Destination Weddings & Events…

The venue: Clara Soh and Elbert Huh traveled from South Korea (where most of their family and friends traveled from as well) to get married in Hawaii. They wanted an epic destination wedding at a remote and private venue. They heard that the resort was recently renovated and that motivated their decision. The newly designed FSR Lanai is gaining wonderful press and recognition for its Polynesian art, indigenous landscaping, and technologically tricked-out rooms. Clara and Elbert had never been there before but trusted the Four Seasons Resort brand. We also planned their welcome event the day before the wedding which was a bright and tropical luau-inspired event. The entire planning experience was quick. We planned all events in just two months!

The vision (style, colors, etc.): Clara really wanted to go with a soft palate for the ceremony using pastels, while Elbert really wanted to go with darker hues. They met in the middle, by starting with the lighter tones for the ceremony and integrating darker jewel tones for the reception indoors.

Floral Design: Mandy Grace Designs created a circular floral arch composed of a lush base of silver dollar eucalyptus layered in with soft hues of lavender lisianthus and roses, ivory roses and apricot roses. The bride carried a simple, tight bouquet of blush ranunculus. The ceremony aisle was lined in eucalyptus, ginestra and white Larkspur floral arrangements. For the indoor reception, Mandy and her team created floral arrangements of cafe latte roses, amnesia roses, hellebores, scabiosa, ranunculus and a variety of eculytpus and Italian ruscuson poised on tall, modern brass vessels.

Design Details: For the escort card display, we thought lets do something totally cool and unusual. We kind of did a spin-off of the place cards—square, modern acrylic, for a wow factor. Miss B Calligraphy did all the script in gold. The bride’s friend designed the wedding invitations and stationery. For the design of the ballroom, the couple really let us run with it. There were 150 guests so the space felt really comfortable and flowed nicely. Clara wanted elegant draping and mood lighting. She was the most easy going bride! They really are the sweetest couple.

This Maui Elopement Will Have You Booking a Flight to Hawaii

When I see the names Wendy Laurel and Opihi Love pop up on our submissions page, I just know a heaping dose of happiness is about to be delivered to my desktop. Today’s elopement was no exception. Complete with pineapples, a “Pu” (a.k.a. conch shell ceremony) and the prettiest petals, this guest-less fete packs a punch.

From Wendy LaurelElopements are really my favorite sort of wedding. I love them because the couple is usually so emotional and intimate during the ceremony. This couple decided to take their elopement to the next level. Even though it just the two of them, they choose to style their elopement to the hilt. It all happened at the newest wedding venue on Maui – the new Steeple House with a team of some of the best vendors on Maui. The getting ready happened at the Steeple House in their completely redone interior of a vintage plantation style church in Kapalua. The ceremony was on the Steeple House lawn with a great view over the Pacific ocean and the cliffs of West Maui. A short walk to the beach for their portraits followed. It was a crazy beautiful day filled with emotion.

These Two Got It Right: Only Choose Traditions Meaningful to You!

When half your guests are on one side of the world, and the other half are on the other, what do you do? Meet in the middle! This couple did that literally when choosing to celebrate their nuptials in Hawaii, but also figuratively when creating their ceremony. Instead of adhering to wedding traditions, they each picked one to represent their heritage (a Japanese sake ceremony for the Bride and breaking the glass for the Groom). Absolutely Loved was there to capture the meaningful day – complete with must-see florals by Passion Roots and planned by Engaging Moments – and it’s all waiting for you right here.

From the Bride… I had just transferred to the New York office for work and didn’t know too many people. I met Daren at a few work events and thought he was cute, but nothing came of it besides work-type conversation. That all changed when a mutual coworker, career mentor, and now our best friend hosted a weekend gathering that we were both invited to. That’s where we were able to talk outside of the work setting and really hit it off. The sparks started to fly immediately, and the rest is history. I should also mention that the coworker that hosted that gathering agreed to officiate our wedding, introducing us and then making it forever five years later!

Daren and I live in New York City, but since all my family and some of my friends live in Japan, we thought Hawaii was the perfect happy middle (and who doesn’t want to get married in Hawaii?). I also spent several summers in Hawaii as a young girl as my grandparents owned a second home in Honolulu, and I have very fond memories of this time. When we decided to get married in Hawaii, I remember as a little girl coming to the Kahala hotel and being in awe of its beauty. I checked out their website and talked to the very helpful wedding team, and I knew this was the perfect place for us!

Our goal for the wedding was to have a fun time with our close friends and family. We did not care to tick all the boxes of a traditional wedding and only incorporated traditions we enjoyed. We wanted to incorporate our different backgrounds, so we worked in both a Japanese sake ceremony and the Jewish tradition of breaking the glass. We also wanted to embrace the destination, so we had gorgeous white leis and personalized sunglasses for each guest. We had minimal decor with pale pink flowers to not take away from the ocean back drop and conveniently a double rainbow showed up during cocktail hour to decorate the skies!

I wanted something simple and less formal for my bridal look to match the scenery. I seriously think I saw thousands of dresses online (the selection is endless!) When I realized the ones I liked had a common theme – I really liked dresses with laces and ruching. I was able to find the perfect dress with ruching in the front and lace in the back which was simple but also unique. I thank Kleinfelds for helping me find the Romona Keveza dress that I always dreamed of!

For Daren, we wanted something a little more fun and less formal. His work suits are more traditional greys and dark blues, so he used the opportunity to wear a suit with a little more character and pop. The light blue felt right in terms of matching the venue and ocean backdrop while the pink tie was the added pizazz he thought was the perfect finishing touch. I certainly didn’t complain because it matched the flowers! He got the suit and shirt custom made from Sebastien Grey in NYC, and they did an amazing job!

My husband – who cannot speak a word of Japanese – decided that he wanted to deliver a speech to my parents…in Japanese. I remember that I nervously watched him stumble through his speech in a language he was not familiar with in an attempt to connect with my parents. which made me very emotional. I know that my parents felt it too, as my mom’s eyes flooded with tears. This moment meant so much to me on so many levels, and the emotion I felt is something I will never forget.

My advice for Brides-to-be: Don’t sweat the small stuff and enjoy the moment!

Intimate and Wildly Romantic Wedding in Maui’s Upcountry

Based in the U.S. with family back in China, Hawaii felt like the perfect middle point for Olive and Dylan’s wedding. They wanted a day that exuded classic elegance so they brought on Opihi Love Wedding & Events to make it all happen. Olive looked radiant in her Pronovias gown paired with a juliet cap veil and the amazing Rebecca Arthurs photographed each and every moment.

From the photographer… Olive & Dylan experienced sweet first love in high school, struggled with a long distance relationship in college, had a heartbroken break-up and miraculous reunion in the USA far away from their homeland. With their parents still living in China, they decided Hawaii was the perfect in-between place to cement their love story and say their vows underneath the beautiful trees at Ka Hale Olinda.

It was my joy to document this intimate celebration as Olive & Dylan fully expressed their timeless love and respect for each other that ran beneath all the ups and downs of their years together. Ever since she was a little girl, Olive knew what her wedding dress would look: a vintage style lace gown with a layered mermaid tail. Very elegant, very classical. So she wanted the wedding design inspirations to come from her dress. To be pure and simple, yet with great taste. I think Melissa with Opihi Love and Bella Bloom pulled it off perfectly!

Sex in the City Fans, You May Recognize This Bride’s Shoes

Inspired by her fashion icon, this pretty Bride wore Carrie Bradshaw’s blue Manolo Blahnik pumps for her something blue on her wedding day, and we absolutely love how they paired with her Monique Lhuillier gown – no surprise, with these two timeless brands. Absolutely Loved photographed the wedding on Oahu’s North Shore, which perfectly reflected the Bride’s style with the help of Nichole Weddings and Events and Passion Roots‘ lovely floral arrangements. See it all right here.

From Absolutely Loved PhotographyJennifer and Ned’s Hawaii destination wedding took place at the naturally beautiful Turtle Bay Resort on the North Shore of Oahu. The Bride wore a romantic lace dress, her Bridesmaids wore glamorous sequined dresses, and the gentlemen wore ocean-inspired navy suits. The neutral florals were complemented nicely with whites, greens, and soft tones of blush. It was a simple wedding by the beach with emphasis on the couple and their close family and friends.

From the Bride… I met Ned through a friend when he moved home to Seattle after living in Vegas for nine years. We were instantaneously best friends and would hang out every day after work, either eating at the newest restaurants in Seattle or binge watching Game of Thrones. He eventually took me on our first date to watch a movie (Lay the Favourite) which he was an extra in but didn’t tell me until I saw him on the big screen. At that moment, I knew he was someone unique that I wanted to get to know more. For our one year dating anniversary, he took me to Europe on a backpacking trip, but knowing my love for luxury hotels, he made sure each night we laid our heads to rest at the most beautiful hotels even though we had walked to see sights all day and only had 3-4 outfits which we wore for 2 weeks! A couple years into dating, we took a weekend trip to Arizona to see the Grand Canyon, and that is where he proposed!

For my bridal look, I absolutely love Monique Lhuillier – her pieces are timeless, classy, and feminine. I am also drawn to ornate details like my floating straps and back details. One of my fashion icons is Sarah Jessica Parker – I have always wanted to own the blue Manolo Blahniks from the Sex and the City movie and thought this would be a perfect opportunity to include them as my something blue. I searched high and low for a makeup artist who was fashion forward but also had strong techniques and found Liz from Maui Makeup Artistry who exceeded my expectations by far!

Ned picked out (from Blue Nile) the engagement ring all on his own and completely shocked me. He is extremely traditional, and I would have never guessed he would purchase a yellow diamond, but he chose something that represented me. I strive to be different from the pack and walk to the beat of my own drum, and he wanted me to have a ring that was different from the rest.

We wanted to be on the quieter side of Oahu (North Shore) with beautiful views and great hotel service so we wouldn’t have to worry about catering, decor, etc., so we chose Turtle Bay Resort. It also probably helped that we love Forgetting Sarah Marshall (which was shot at the resort).

Three moments from our big day stood out to me: 1) My dad’s speech, which was heartfelt and reminded me that I was the apple of his eye and how excited he was to welcome Ned into our family. 2) Stepping out as husband and wife for the first time amongst our closest friends and family was the most amazing feeling ever, to be surrounded by so much love. 3) The first dance where Ned sang all the words to Thinking Out Loud by Ed Sheeran to me – it was the song that we both loved when we first heard it and would sing it in the car together, plus it played on the radio right after he proposed to me, so we knew it had to be our first dance song!

This Glam Island Wedding Is Wow-Worthy

We love a pretty and unique spin on a wedding, and Unveiled Hawaii accomplished just that with this glam island destination wedding on Maui’s North Shore. The gorgeous greenery at Haiku Mill kept the island vibe while chandeliers, glass orbs, crystal strands, and white orchid garlands by Damselfly Designs hung from the ceiling for an elegant effect. It’s as wow-worthy as it sounds, so scroll on to see it all, captured by Toto Villaruel.

Dianne and John, both from Brooklyn, New York, specifically chose Maui’s iconic Haiku Mill as the backdrop for their big day! With its lush green flora and incredible old world charm, Haiku Mill created an enchanting ambiance. Guests traveled from all over the world to join Dianne and John for their Hawaii destination wedding. Their ceremony held at Holy Rosary Church was steeped in traditions, a very important element for the Bride and Groom. The Groom drove his new bride to Haiku Mill in a beautiful classic speedster, courtesy of Maui Roadsters. Luxury destination wedding planner, Unveiled Hawaii, designed a beautiful reception which included a stunning ceiling display of white orchid garlands and hanging crystal strands with glass orbs, inspired by the Bride’s elegant vision for the decor. The vineyard tables were adorned with pale pink table runners, brushed gold candlestick holders with raspberry tapers, and textured glass votives. Gold lanterns and white candles framed the stairs well at the Haiku Mill and made for a romantic entrance. Damselfly Designs created beautiful florals, including the Bride’s bouquet: a stunning mix of pale pink and white peonies with cream spray roses, wrapped with flowing ivory ribbon. Experienced wedding photographer, Toto Villaruel, captured this couple’s love for each other perfectly in Maui paradise!

A Bold + Beautiful Wedding on the Island Where It All Began

These two color-loving cuties met in Maui (the Groom may or may not have been sporting an orange speedo and a mullet at the time), so they could think of no better way to say “I do” than in front of their loved ones on the island where it all began. Love Maui Weddings helped them create a bold and bright celebration using a team of local vendors, like Maui Petals who incorporated the Bride’s favorite flowers – daisies – into her tropical bouquet and Wendy Laurel who is the talent behind the lens at many of our favorite Hawaiian fêtes.

From Wendy LaurelAlyssa met Darryl here on Maui and decided to go out with him despite the fact he had an orange speedo and a mullet – boy how far they have come! So it was only fitting for them to fly back here and bring all their family and friends for an epic destination wedding. The pair had an elegant wedding at Olowalu Plantation House, and my absolutely favorite detail was the Bride’s bouquet! Alyssa loves daisies and incorporated them into her colorful and beautiful florals.

A Dream-Worthy Wedding at the Hyatt Maui

An intimate wedding on a gorgeous beach with attentive staff, fun activities, and delicious food… it sounds like something out of a dream. But at the Hyatt Regency Maui Resort and Spa with its spectacular sunsets on Ka’anapali Beach, this dream becomes a reality! Just take one look at the wedding of these two cuties, who said “I do” beneath the palm trees in a tropical ceremony with the ocean as their backdrop followed by a dinner on one of the Hyatt’s perfectly manicured green lawns.

Because this couple’s romance crossed continents – Pip is from the United Kingdom and Shannon is from Australia – when these two decided to tie the knot on their 12th anniversary, they knew the location of their wedding was the most important factor. They wanted a neutral ground for both families to travel to, and Hawaii seemed like an ideal central spot that would also be vacation-worthy for their guests.

Once they landed on the location, selecting the Hyatt Regency Maui Resort and Spa was easy with all of the beautiful locations to choose from to hold the ceremony and reception. From their brand new venue, the expansive Halona Kai Lawn located above the resort pool and waterfalls with panoramic ocean views, to the Oriental Gardens surrounded by a lagoon filled with beautiful swans and flamingoes, to the Makai and Napili Pool Lawns which are both situated on manicured grounds between palm trees and just steps from the sand – can you imagine a more gorgeous option for their wedding? The couple chose one of the lawns for the ceremony, and the green grass simply pops against the striking blue ocean on the horizon!

With the help of their dedicated wedding specialist at the Hyatt Regency Maui Resort and Spa, Pip and Shannon were able to plan and coordinate the wedding weekend they envisioned from the other side of the globe. Despite not being able to come to Maui in person during the planning process, every detail of their wedding ended up perfect because of this expert assistance, from the elegant guest rooms featuring private lanais with panoramic ocean views that their friends and family were able to enjoy, to the ceremony and reception locations, to all of the wedding vendors, to the attentive team of resort staff assisting throughout the weekend.

As if the incredible location and amazing team at the Hyatt Regency Maui Resort and Spa weren’t enticing enough, our favorite perk of getting married at this gorgeous resort might be enjoying all of the amenities! Pip and Shannon’s guests were able to enjoy a variety of activities to suit any interest, including a championship golf course, an abundance of water sports, a massive pool, and Maui’s only oceanfront spa.
