Dreamy Atlanta Skyline + Mural Engagement Session

I think it’s time to book a trip to Atlanta, because I need a photo in front of this fabulous floral mural. Can you blame me? One look at this sweet couple’s gorgeous engagement photos from Anna K Photography, and it’s impossible not to fall in love—with the Atlanta skyline, the dreamy wall art, and of course, this beautiful Bride- and Groom-to-be. See all the pretty in The Vault!

From Anna K PhotographyAllison and Brian have the sweetest hearts and we love the locations that they chose for their engagement session! Allison is an Atlanta native, while Brian is newer to the city. We roamed around the area right outside of the Krog Street tunnel admiring all of the beautiful murals. The light and the pastel colors came together perfectly! To wrap up their session we made our way to the Jackson Street Bridge right as the sunset on the Atlanta Skyline.

Classic Southern Plantation Wedding in Georgia

As much as I love the gorgeous gown, lovely flowers and all the other pretty details at this Georgia wedding, my favorite part of this day is that the Bride and Groom asked guests to unplug as they exchanged I Dos. Without the distraction of phones and cameras, everyone could focus on the most beautiful part of this whole day: the couple’s love. See all the pretty from Simply Sarah Photography in The Vault!

From The Bride… John and I met while in high school through a persistent mutual friend – turned matchmaker. Although I told this friend that the boy she kept telling me about was too young for me, she went on to tell that ninth-grade boy that we would be the perfect couple. Then, one day in 2007, as I logged onto MySpace I was greeted by a message that read, “Hi I’m John. I’m Courtney’s friend. I don’t know what to say so what’s up?” I almost didn’t respond because after all, I was in tenth-grade and had no desire of dating someone younger than me. That would have been the biggest mistake of my life. That fist message somehow sparked several weeks of online chatting and long home phone conversations (because neither of us had cell phones yet…or licenses for that matter). John asked me to be his girlfriend later that year and it has always been him ever since. Although we were at different schools, we got to experience high school together and the sweet memories that came along with after school hang outs, proms, graduations, and everything in between. After high school, we went on to different colleges and continued dating. The college years brought us new friendships, community, a new church to call home, road trips, hard times, Netflix binges, date nights, both choreographed and freestyle dances, and most importantly, stronger relationships with God.

John proposed on November 15, 2015 at Fall Creek Falls in Tennessee. It was a picture-perfect proposal planned so well by my “not a planner” fiancé. We were overlooking a large waterfall with romantic candles lit and a bouquet of my favorite flowers was prepared for the event. A photographer was hired to capture all the precious moments. I was serenaded by several of our closest friends to my favorite song, Yellow, while John spoke words of truth, encouragement, and endearing love to me right before he got down on one knee to ask, “Will you marry me?” I responded with an awkward hand gesture and said, “Of course I will!”

While we were dating, I dreamt of the perfect day when my best friend would become my husband. I prayed for this man, for this day, for years.

As our wedding day approached and the weather forecast predicted rain, I feared our day wouldn’t be “perfect.” Although rain came, it held off during the ceremony and we were still able to have a beautiful outdoor wedding. Curls fell and makeup ran, but I learned a lesson from our wedding – even when the situation is not “ideal,” it can still be something truly beautiful. October 3, 2015 was a perfect day because it was exactly what God planned for us and He was glorified. That is all John and I could ever ask for.

When John and I became engaged, we knew early on that we wanted to have a pretty large wedding. John has a big family and I have a lot of people who I consider family. Given our large guest list, we were forced to get creative with how we were going make our budget work.

We both agreed that we wanted the majority of our vendors to be ones who meant something to us and who we had personal relationships with. It made our day that much more special knowing that many of those involved in our wedding were people we had known for years. People who had invested in us, supported us, and loved us. One of the easiest decision during the wedding planning process was who we wanted to marry us. We asked my childhood pastor, who now leads a young adult Bible study that John and I are a part of. I may be biased, but it was the best wedding ceremony I have ever been to. John’s brother, Jack, along with a few of our close friends sang during the ceremony. Pastor Scott’s wife, Sandy, helped plan the wedding and worked alongside a long-time family friend, Cora with The Southern Bell’s, in decorating the venue. Our venue, The Inn at Oak Lawn Farms, is owned by my middle youth pastor. The bridal party’s attire all came from John’s family’s store, Prom USA, where I work as a manager. The bridal party’s hair was done by close family friends of over 15 years. John’s parents also own a catering company, A Taste to Remember, and they offered to prepare all the food. Our cake was made by a family friend, Don with Cuppalicious Gourmet Bakery, that we have known for years and who we go to church with. Our invitations were designed by a co-worker from my very first job, Sara from Sarabelle Designs. We even knew our photographers, Simply Sarah Photography, as I went to high school with both Sarah and her husband/second-shooter Will. It felt like one big family working together to make our big day happen. We met our other vendors through local bridal expos and we were so fortunate to find them. Allie with Bowman & Clark was able to completely re-create my “Bridal Blooms” Pinterest board. Flowers are a love language of mine and she nailed it. Our makeup artists, Vigilante Cosmetics, worked their magic on my bridal party and everyone looked stunning. John and I cannot say thank you enough to everyone who worked our wedding day. You guys are rockstars and we are so grateful!

For some DIY elements, John and a few of our family members and friends built 30 farmhouse tables. We were crazy and did not realize how big of an undertaking it was initially, but they were exactly what I had pictured. John knew I wanted them and he made it happen. I married a great man. We constructed a few wooden signs and had John’s siblings paint some of my favorite quotes on them to use for decor. We spray painted inexpensive frames that were purchased at thrift stores and The Dollar Tree and framed lyrics from some of our favorite songs and quotes from favorite books and poems and used those on the tables. My sister made 30 linen table runners that we used to anchor and unify all the reception tables. She even made us napkins with the leftover fabric that we were able to use this year for our first Thanksgiving as a married couple when we had the family over. My mom and I thrifted every now and then and found several brass, silver, and gold candlesticks that we also used for decor. I liked the idea of mixed metals.

For my bridal look, I wore a lace Ivory and Champagne mermaid gown by Allure Bridals for the ceremony and first dances. It was my dream dress. I chose a belt, also by Allure, to pair with the gown to add some sparkle and to accentuate the waistline. I ordered individual lace pieces that matched my wedding gown from Allure to have a custom veil made so there was no differentiation in the lace patterns. I always knew I wanted a mermaid gown, but I also loved the timeless look of long sleeves. When I found my wedding gown, I gave up on the idea of long sleeves…that is, until about two months before the wedding. John’s sister, Christina, and I were attending fashion shows during a buying trip for Prom USA. We were sitting in front row of the Jovani showroom and down walks a model wearing a beautiful, simple, lace long sleeved dress. Christina mentioned that the dress came in Ivory, so we ordered it shortly after to be my reception dress. It was form fitting and extremely comfortable. John and I love to dance and I knew I wouldn’t be able to move as much as I wanted to in my mermaid gown. The Jovani dress was the perfect choice for dancing the night away.

I wanted our wedding to be romantic, personal, and very natural. The bridesmaids wore a shade of taupe that was called “Mocha” by Allure Bridals. I was so in love with the bridesmaid color and how well it went along with my Ivory and Champagne wedding gown. The flowers consisted of soft ivory and blush tones and had lots of greenery to make everything feel natural and organic. The navy blue tuxes allowed us to stray from the norm a little bit and add a pop of color while stay remaining neutral. The music played as guests entered the ceremony was carefully selected. The playlist was made up of mostly acoustic covers of some of mine and John’s favorite songs. The paper I used to write my vows on was my dad’s old stationery from college. I love sentimentalism and the meaning behind all of the personal details from our wedding day.

Classic Southern Fall Wedding at Oak Hill at Berry College

Elizabeth and William’s wedding is the perfect proof that you don’t necessarily have to pack up and peruse to find a venue that’s right for you. For it was the nearby Oak Hill at Berry College that completely stole their hearts and it’s easy to see why. A dreamy day captured by the ridiculously talented Sawyer Baird, this is one celebration you’ll want to bookmark ASAP. See it all in The Vault!

From the Bride… We have always dreamed of having a southern wedding little did we know the perfect venue would not be far from home. I had searched all over our home state of Georgia looking for the perfect venue and once I stepped foot on the grounds of Oak Hill I knew it was the perfect place. I had heard how beautiful Berry College was but I didn’t know truly how beautiful it was until I saw it first hand. Once I walked into the picturesque gardens full of roses paired with a beautiful Antebellum home I began to imagine my dreams coming true.

Oak Hill at Berry College offered everything we could ever imagine. I started planning our wedding with a classic and romantic vision, which incorporated the gardens surrounding the property. I envisioned the classic colors of burgundy, ivory, blush and navy fitting the fall scenery perfectly. We knew the décor would not be complete without incorporating my family’s silver throughout the reception. We held true to our southern roots with a menu that featured shrimp and grits, chicken, mashed potatoes and biscuits. Our wedding planner Holly from the Season Events did a wonderful job bringing our vision to life.

We could not have had a more perfect fall day. The week leading up to the wedding was so peaceful and stress free. We could not have had the wedding we did without all of our amazing vendors. We are so thankful for all of our family and friends that came to celebrate with us. Our wedding day was truly magical and one that we will cherish forever.

Savannah Engagement with the Prettiest Pink Backdrop

Now that you’ve hopefully eaten more conversation hearts than you can count, it’s time to cap off the Valentine’s festivities with an engagement that fully embraces today’s official color theme: pink on pink on pink. Set in historic Savannah, these lovies sought out the neighborhood’s prettiest backdrops and Rach Loves Troy came along to capture. Head to The Vault and let the lovefest continue.

From Rach Loves TroyDanielle and Josh are recent transplants to Savannah from Central Florida. They moved here after falling in love with Savannah after many visits. Danielle loves all the little quirks and historic beauty of our downtowns beauty. When I asked her what she wanted in an engagement session she wanted quintessential Savannah with a touch of glam! When Danielle told me she would be wearing a floor length tulle skirt I knew we were on the right track. Throw in these two and their adorably fun personalities and the Savannah streets lit up at night and we had it.

Elegant + Romantic Atlanta Spring Wedding

This Bride had a vision, a very clear, chic vision for the dress she’d wear when she walked down the aisle. And when, after searching high and low, she couldn’t find it anywhere, what did she do? She got creative – and it’s with that talent and perseverance that she’s our new style crush. With the same passion she created her whole wedding and Carla Gates captured it all. Spend some time getting to know this fashion-forward lady and her handsome man in our Vault right this way!

From the Bride… We met in the Big House during our first football game at the University of Michigan. After a year of studying for economics exams, nights at Scorekeepers, and swimming dates at the campus gym, we made it official during a matinee showing of “The Goonies” and never looked back. We kept it going through graduation, my law school, and ultimately, cohabitation in Chicago. On the day before Thanksgiving, I came out of my office on the streets of Chicago, looking to meet my assistant’s mother, and Drew was outside in a tux kneeling on the sidewalk! The rest is history!!

I was really inspired by using a shabby chic feel combined with an elegant twist. There are so many weddings that are really over the top, which is great, but I wanted the “less is more” look, while not looking bare. Heather from Tulip was beyond incredible! We shared pictures, thoughts, and ideas to set the stage for the most perfect night.

The colors were blush, champagne, and other soft colors. Lots of string lighting with hanging lanterns and candles. I wanted to capture a soft, ethereal feel – making you want to fall in love with our story when you walked in the door.

So the dress is a long story! I was inspired by one of my favorite bloggers as far as the top, and knew I wanted a slim fitting bottom, with a WOW factor in the back! Of course, there was nothing that quite hit the nail on the head when you have this vision in mind. So what do you do when that happens? MAKE IT YOURSELF! I ended up finding a dress with the right bone structure, and then let my imagination run wild. With the help of my amazing seamstress Hanan, and eight 5-7 hour fittings later (including sewing the sleeves on my dress the day before the wedding!), we created the dress of my dreams!

It is amazing :) All lace with an overlay, beaded on the top with shoulders covered by a hanging piece of beaded fabric. All backless! There are buttons that go all the way down the train.

Puritan Mill was the perfect space that lend itself to the shabby chic feel I knew Drew and I both wanted to achieve while being convenient to our guests in Atlanta. It was a big space, yet could be intimate at the same time. The ability to work from a blank canvas was definitely a plus!

My mom and I went wild with DIY decor! I felt like a little kid again doing art projects! One day, my mom and I were scouring our basement and found old window frames that were going to be tossed out. We spray painted the frames and I blew up pictures of our grandparents and parents and taped them to the back of the screen. It looked great and was a perfect way to incorporate some of the people we hold dearest who couldn’t be there to celebrate with us.

Also – I am a total sucker for cotton candy, so we ordered a bunch of bags online (which ended up being delicious) and then created customized stickers! Etsy became my best friend for the nine months that led up to my wedding. I was inspired by a lot of ideas on Pinterest and then made them come to life with the help of my mom, who was my rock throughout this whole process (along with Drew).

My most memorable moment was when Drew and I signed our wedding Ketubah before our actual ceremony began. In Jewish weddings, the Ketubah is a wedding contract, which is signed before the ceremony. It is considered an integral part of a traditional Jewish marriage, and outlines the rights and responsibilities of the groom, in relation to the bride. I remember when we signed it, my heart was beating out of my chest. This was the first time when everything felt surreal. It was actually happening! I was marrying my best friend and love of my life.

Additionally, seeing my dad for the first time. I am Daddy’s little girl, and I couldn’t believe that I was being given away!

My advice for future brides is that the process is supposed to be FUN! Don’t sweat the small stuff, and just breathe :)

Classic Springtime Dunaway Gardens Wedding

No one tells the story of a wedding day quite like Amy Arrington. She has this beautiful way of capturing even the simplest moments that take our breath away. And this al fresco beauty set in Georgia? Well, it’s one for the books. Planned by Chancey Charm with floral design by Amy Osaba, it’s a celebration inspired by an organic, Anthropologie-style aesthetic while playing to the cues of the springtime season. Watch moment after perfect moment unfold inside The Vault and film below.

[iframe https://player.vimeo.com/video/129940230 600 338]

From Amy Arrington Photography… Lisa & Brian were wed on May 2, 2015 in front of 110 guests in the charming amphitheater of Dunaway Gardens in Newnan, Georgia. Their early May wedding was inspired by the feeling of an al fresco dinner party with the whimsical decor of Anthropologie. With the help of event designer Marilisa Schachinger with Chancey Charm, the couple sought to blend traditional elements with an organic aesthetic and recruited Atlanta’s best vendors to bring their vision to life in one of Georgia’s most remarkable venues.

After the couple were wed by both of their fathers under a botanical chuppah, guests moved into the cocktail hour garden for hors d’oeuvres and a very southern game of corn hole. When it was time for dinner, everyone gathered under the reception tent for memorable toasts by the wedding party and delicious cuisine created by Sun In My Belly.

Once the sun had set and cake was cut and passed, the party moved into the party tent where guests danced the night away thanks to Emerald Empire Band. Brian even surprised his bride with a sweet serenade of “Let’s Stay Together” by Al Green with the band. It was a sweet, personal and memorable day for all!

Classic Southern Wedding at the Chapel from “The Last Song”

I’m a sucker for a good rom-com—the cheesier, the better. And though this wedding ceremony took place in the same chapel where Nicholas Sparks’ “The Last Song” was filmed, there is nothing cheesy about this beautiful day. In a stunning backless Hayley Paige gown, this beautiful bride shined as she said “I do” to her handsome groom. Lucky for us,  Julie Paisley captured all the pretty to admire in The Vault!

From Julie PaisleyThere are some weddings that just stop you right in your tracks. Stunningly gorgeous details, beautiful color palette, the sweetest wedding venue right out of movie – “The Last Song” to be exact, and a bride that is just as sweet as she is beautiful. Robbie adores Kasie and this was a wedding that made my photographer heart so happy.

Elegant Atlanta Wedding Film

My favorite part of a wedding?  The vows.  Those brief moments during the ceremony when you get a heartwarming sneak peek at the undying love + devotion that two people so sweetly share.  And thanks to the brilliant work of The Film Poets, we’re spending our day basking in the gorgeous words of Jeremy and Helen; a duo who is sooo in love, it will make your heart happy.  Press play NOW.

[iframe http://player.vimeo.com/video/105080596 600 338]

From The Film Poets… We first met Helen while we were shooting a wedding in Atlanta, GA for her friends Bona and Andrew. She was the star of the dance floor that night, so when she called us I remembered exactly who she was and was thrilled. Jeremy and Helen’s personal vows were so beautiful and sweet that we had to include them in their film. Jeremy even learned how to play a song on the piano so that he could kick off his first dance with Helen. Watching him nervously practice throughout the day really made me hope that he would nail it, and he did!

Classic Savannah Wedding With A Pop of Blue

For this former ballerina turned bride, honoring her love of dance was a must and her shoe selection did just the trick. And from the florals by Colony Bay Florist to the ombre blue bridesmaids in Alfred Angelo, the entire day followed suit with total elegance and style. Take a peek into this Southern beauty photographed by The Happy Bloom in THE VAULT.

From The Happy Bloom… Rebecca and Jimmy are the epitome of class and charm. So often we as people feel like we’re too this or not enough of that. But these guys? Somehow they fall so perfectly in the middle and you just want to sit down with them and ask, “How are you so perfect?!” They’re calm, relaxed, genuine and sweet all at the same time.

It only made sense that their wedding reflected who they are. A chic white and dusty blue wedding at Savannah’s Independent Presbyterian Church was where their day started.

Our favorite moment from the entire day was probably when Rebecca saw her dad…and when her dad saw Rebecca. She was so filled with joy that it brought physical tears to her eyes. We were so so so lucky to have witnessed it.

After the ceremony, the two and all of their guests and loved ones traveled over to Fort Jackson for an incredible sunset! They were also treated to a traditional cannon firing as a symbol of good luck and fortune upon their marriage. To celebrate the final days of summer, the couple opted into a brighter and more Southern color palette for the reception decor, incorporating antique china and the last of the summer florals. They spent the rest of the night dancing underneath the Savannah stars.

A Romantic Costal Engagement

Sure we might be entering the throws of winter, but this pretty little e-sesh from Still55 Photography is here to remind us that an eternal summer lives within us all. Scroll through and soak up a little sunshine as we partake in Naiz and Brett’s oceanside engagement complete with a summer sail. It’s a sun-kissed day that we’re excited to share and you can see it all in THE VAULT!

From Still55 PhotographyNaiz and Brett are two extremely warm hearted people. She wanted her engagement to reflect the warm whimsical feelings she gets when around Brett. “I want it to be a romantic blend of timeless locations coupled with fun and authentic expressions from us.” Brett’s Uncle kindly welcomed us aboard his sailboat to add to our coastal inspired aesthetic. Immediately it added the candid element of surprise as we were bracing for waves and jockeying for position. Needless to say these images capture all of our brides desires and more! The warm sunlit start on shore followed by the timeless and romantic adventure of setting sail along remote stretches of historical places such as cumberland island made for a very amazing day!

Rustic Chic Monroe Wedding

Rustic chic and filled to the brim with DIY details, this is the sort of affair that makes your heart happy. Think two sooo in love high school sweethearts, pretty pastel hues and romantic florals from JL Designs that are all sorts of pretty.  Head to THE VAULT for every stunning moment captured by Mary Hannah Harte Photography.  It’s a must-see.

From the Bride… Cameron and I met the summer before junior year of high school through a mutual friend (who was actually a groomsman in the wedding). His hilarious and fun personality automatically caught my attention. We are two totally different people, but I believe that is why we have always gotten along so well. He is a go-getter with a loud personality, while I am more reserved and cautious. As we like to say, he helps me be more spontaneous and I help him stay out of trouble! We started dating and continued throughout the end of high school and decided to attend University of North Georgia together. Through college our love grew even more than we could imagine and the summer of our junior year of college, he asked me to marry him in Tampa, Florida right before we boarded a cruise with four of our closest friends. After our engagement, we both finished up college and began to plan for our future, together. We were married in June, one month after I graduated college.

For my 21st birthday in April of 2014, Cameron bought me a cruise ticket and told me we were going to Cozumel with four of our closet friends. Of course I was ecstatic, and I assumed that’s why he had been so secretive the past couple months. Our cruise was at the beginning of June, and Cameron and I and our friends drove down the day before to stay in a hotel in Tampa, Florida. Cameron told me the day we drove down to Florida that he wanted me and him to have dinner alone that night, since we would be with our friends for four days on a cruise. My friends said they were going to another restaurant and that they would meet up with us afterwards. Cameron and I got to this wonderful restaurant right on the water in Tampa and we sat down at a booth. After looking at the menu for a few minutes, Cameron turned to me and said “You want to go look outside? It’s so pretty out, we could eat out there.” Confused, I complied and we walked out of the restaurant. Little did I know, our friends had secretly set up a beautiful scenery outside of the restaurant. Flowers lined the sidewalk to a beautiful gazebo that held a flower vase and champagne. Cameron walked me to the gazebo, hand-in-hand. Once we got to the gazebo, he played my favorite song, “Forever Like That” by Ben Rector. We danced, with his heart beat going crazy and my legs shaking, and then he proceeded to get down on one knee as my friends cheered from the bushes (they were good at hiding!). It was the sweetest and most special moment, and the best part was we got to celebrate with our closest friends on a cruise to Cozumel!

Planning the wedding was such a fun time for me. I tried my best to make it a special and exciting stage in life and not to let the planning process stress me out. We got engaged June of 2014, and by August I had already found my wedding dress, bridesmaid dresses, and venue. With most of the major things finished with, I took the next 10 months to do the little things one by one. By January of 2015, I had made a month-to-month list of everything I needed to accomplish before the big day, June 14. My family, friends, and bridesmaids were of course the biggest help to me, and really made the wedding planning process seem pretty easy. With the help of my family and friends, I did most of the decorations, including the centerpieces, myself. I tried to save as much money as possible by being as creative as possible. Of course bumps in the road occurred (especially the week before the wedding), but having a year to plan definitely helped me slow down and appreciate the stage I was in and take in every moment of the craziness of wedding planning.

Marriage Matters: Elegant Hometown Vow Renewal in Atlanta

Although Nikki + Jason eloped in heart-flutteringly-gorgeous Hawaii months ago, it’s their hometown vow renewal that’ll really take your breath away. From their symbolic sand ceremony, to the Mai Tai’s served at their gorg reception, every detail is tropical with a traditional twist. Sawyer Baird captured it all in THE VAULT, and every single moment is about to show you exactly why marriage matters!

From Sawyer BairdNikki & Jason eloped earlier this year in beautiful Hawaii and decided that they wanted to have a vow renewal in their hometown later on in the year for family & friends to celebrate their love story. When Nikki reached out to me about photography and looking for a place to for photos in a natural setting I knew the perfect spot, Cator Woolford Gardens, just a short drive from the ceremony location.

Amberly with Wrennwood Designs completely transformed the Decatur Corthouse into a beautiful space. From the florals to the beautiful relaxed layout of the space.

Along with all of the beautiful details Nikki also added a fun touch for her guest to have portraits done during the reception. It was seriously such a hit and fun addition to the reception.

From The Groom.. From the moment she walked into my life, God’s journey for us began. My curiosity about her on our first date started with a flicker in my heart. When I drove away from Parish, my heart grew warm and a smile appeared on my face. At that moment I knew she was very special.

From The Bride….I walked into Parish Cafe and saw the most handsome man with sparkling blue eyes. He looked at me from across the room with a magical smile. When I walked away from him that afternoon my heart whispered “he’s the one.”

534 days later…Jason and I were married at a sunset ceremony in Maui, Hawaii. It was a private ceremony that allowed us to solely focus on our love for each other. The beauty of Hawaii and the union of two souls painted a fairy tale picture. It was the happiest, most romantic day of our lives. We said our personal vows on a cliff overlooking the Pacific Ocean, ran around the beach embracing life and laughter as the wedding photographer captured each moment. We ended the evening returning to the location where our ceremony took place and danced to “Love of My Life” under the summer stars.

Four months later, we were so grateful to have a vow renewal and reception with family and friends to celebrate our marriage. The guests were served Hawaiian Mai Tai’s as they awaited our arrival. All of the joyful emotions came to life all over again as we said our personal love and commitment vows in front of our guests, followed by a symbolic sand ceremony with sand brought back from the oceanside. We ended our ceremony with a toast thanking our family and friends for all of the support, encouragement, love and laughter they contributed to our lives. The celebration was just as much about them, so we had a card made for each place setting that read “Together is a wonderful place to be.”

As for wedding details, everything mattered from the personalized vow book design to the hand painted floral vases to the monogrammed decorative pillows. We wanted the wedding to depict modern elegance with an overtone palette of grays and whites, yet portray our playful spirit, so we had a caricature artist draw guests throughout the evening and warm krispy kreme donuts served for a late night snack. Everything about the wedding reception was a reflection of us and was simply perfect. But, the best part about our wedding day was the realization that we married our best friend and as individuals, we are beautiful people, but when our lives are blended into one we form something more miraculous. Every day Jason and I are together is the greatest day of our lives.

Classic Southern Wedding

When a nearby hurricane delivered rainy skies to this darling duo’s big day, they didn’t let it damper their spirits one bit.  Instead, they strapped on their rain boots, grabbed an umbrella and celebrated in true Southern style with lush bouquets from Greg Hall & Company, sweet bridesmaid frocks from Show Me Your MuMu and a world of beautiful images from Sawyer Baird.  Head to THE VAULT to soak it all in.

From Sawyer BairdHillary & Jay have the sweetest and honestly the most upbeat attitude than most people. When they found out that a hurricane was hitting the coast & the major rain was going to be moving through on their wedding day – they were a little let down but not much later Hillary whipped out her Hunter boots and was a complete trooper.

Hillary wanted just a fun celebration – and I think it shows. From Show Me Your MuMu bridesmaid gowns and dancing the night away. Nobody was even focused on the weather, just the beautiful love of these two.

Classically Chic Engagement Session at The Georgian Terrace Hotel

Look at these law school lovebirds; could they get any cuter?! Captured by MP Photographie at The Georgian Terrace Hotel, we get a fabulous sense of their personality and zest for life; these are the people I want to be friends with. See all the too-adorable-for-words moments in our VAULT right here!

From MP Photographie… Ginny and Billy attended a reception for new Georgia State law students in the spring of 2009. At the reception, Ginny’s mom struck up a conversation with “the two cutest guys she’d ever seen.” Regrettably, Ginny had no interest in meeting the two cute guys (what a mistake that was!), but happened to bump into them in the elevator later that evening.

On the first day of law school orientation later that fall, a mutual friend re-introduced Ginny to the two guys, who turned out to be Billy and a friend. Ginny and Billy had every class together the first year of law school and became great friends over the next three years. One week after graduating from law school, Billy talked Ginny into driving to Charleston, South Carolina for their first date. Three years later, Billy popped the big question and Ginny said YES!

Emotional + Heartfelt Wedding Filled with Love

For Anna and Travis, their decade long romance was more than just a celebration of love, it was a celebration of life. For after the heartbreak of tragically losing their son to cancer, they honored his young spirit with a day filled with family, remembrance and endless love. It’s a touching tribute to life after loss, and Brandy Angel Photography unlocked every heartfelt moment to share in THE VAULT!

From Brandy Angel PhotographyAnna and Travis have been together for nearly a decade and have been through more together than most people in a lifetime. It has only brought them closer together and more sure of their lifetime commitment to each other. When Anna met Travis she had a son named Lake. Travis fell in love with Anna and Lake quickly and it wasn’t long before they welcomed two children of their own and Travis even planned on adopting Lake as soon as they were married. Soon after a wedding was planned.

Sadly Lake was diagnosed with Cancer and wedding plans were put on hold for years as Lake battled cancer. Anna and Travis put all of their energy and time into caring for Lake and trying to find a bone marrow donor for not only Lake but all the other children and people in need of bone marrow donors. Anna truly became an advocate for childhood cancer. I – as the photographer – contacted Anna last year to offer her a free family photo session through my non profit for children with cancer. I quickly fell in love with them as well and found out I had known Travis my whole life. It truly is a small world.

Tragically Lake lost his battle with cancer On May 1, just weeks shy of his 9th birthday. After the shock and heart break Anna and Travis decided it was time to finally get married as Lake always wished they would. They planned a small family gathering in a beautiful field at Double H Farm in Colbert, GA and thought of ways to include Lake in the ceremony. I was honored that they chose me to capture that day.

Just two days before the wedding was set Anna was surprised by Say Yes to the Dress Atlanta at her mother’s home and they gave Anna the dress of her dreams. It truly was a perfectly magical day full of love, sorrow, remembrance and new beginnings. Anna was the picture perfect bride and I know Lake was shining down on all of us that day.

Anna was so worried about taking family photos that day for the first time without Lake and mysteriously in the photos following the ceremony there is a beautiful light shining in the photos that never changes shape or color and it moves around the family. It is truly amazing to see and undeniable. It can even be seen peeking behind Anna on a couple of photos. Anna could not have been happier and found so much comfort in that light. She said Lake would show up in a beautiful way that day and he did. Whether or not you believe in things like that you cannot deny that light. I feel so incredibly blessed to have witnessed something so truly beautiful. Please join me in honoring Lake and his family and look into becoming a bone marrow donor, www.bethematch.org, you could save a life just like Lake’s.

Classic Country Club Winter Wedding

If ever in doubt, go classic; you will never be steered wrong. As time goes by, I keep coming back to these classics, the elegant affairs, because they never, ever disappoint. And this Augusta Country Club celebration, captured by Ashley Seawell, agrees with me completely. With a veil that I can’t stop staring at and a bouquet bursting with roses and peonies, our VAULT never looked so good – see it all right here!

From Ashley Seawell Photography… Jane and Adam invited their guests to celebrate in the bride’s hometown of Augusta. Their meaningful ceremony took place in her home church and a lovely reception followed at Augusta Country Club. Wesley Cadle transformed the club’s ballroom into a unique space. Orchids, peonies, hydrangeas and garden roses were used throughout the day. The color palette included dark blues, white and green which was perfect for this January wedding.

Relaxed + Rustic Fall Georgia Wedding

The golden glow of this autumn affair makes every image an absolute work of art. From the Bride’s dress floating through the fields to the sweet looks between these newlyweds, every second speaks of pure romance. Thank goodness Chris Isham, with assistance by Anna Toner, captured it all for us to oogle over – head on over to our VAULT and let the pretty party begin!

From Chris Isham… Brittany and Kevin’s wedding day was quite possibly one of the most relaxing, easygoing weddings I’ve ever been a part of. One of Burge’s plantation houses and a rustic cabin served as their prep spots earlier in the day with friends and family. The vintage church pews set for their ceremony seating along with their beautiful copper foot washing station were the perfect traditional elements to create a perfect church aesthetic amidst the rural field. And not wanting to leave anyone out, Kevin even had a few grooms-women in their wedding party! After the ceremony, inviting afternoon napping blankets and yard games were spread out among the lawn for guests to kick back with for an extended break before the reception dinner began. And to top things off, Brittany’s gorgeous gown couldn’t have puddled more beautifully in the evening sun during their romantic portraits.
