From the fab hotels like The Westin Birmingham and Sheraton Birmingham Hotel to the amazing eateries to the awesome entertainment, it’s a place where dream weddings really do come true. Need a few more reasons? We’re breaking down our top five below.

ONE: THE HOTELS

It all starts with an amazing locale and when it comes to saying “I do” in Birmingham, it just doesn’t get any better than The Westin Birmingham and the Sheraton Birmingham Hotel. These two iconic (+ connected) properties offer up everything you’ll ever need for your wedding weekend, from gorgeous bridal suites to stellar views of Uptown to venue choices that are out of this world. It’s the largest ballroom in all of Alabama and we love it.

TWO: THE EATERIES

Throwing the world’s most amazing wedding weekend means making sure the food and drinks are flowing, and when you book either The Westin Birmingham or the Sheraton Birmingham Hotel for your Big Day, you can guarantee a foodie paradise will follow. That’s because both hotels happen to be located within walking distance of some of the best restaurants Birmingham has to offer, including Todd English P.U.B., an award-winning bar and restaurant perfect for your pre and post-wedding hang-outs.

THREE: THE VENDORS

You can’t have that wedding of your dreams without a team of awesome vendors making it all happen and the city of Birmingham (and nearby Atlanta!) is literally overflowing with talent. From amazing florists to creative planners to bakers that know a thing or two about yummy + beautiful cakes, you’ll be in good hands. Even better? The Westin Birmingham and the Sheraton Birmingham Hotel happen to have unique connections with all of them… and that means a wedding with some of the best in the biz. Who doesn’t love that?

FOUR: THE LOCATION

Let’s be honest… when it comes to your Big Day, it’s all about location, location, location. And it honestly doesn’t get any better than Uptown Birmingham, a spot where The Westin Birmingham and the Sheraton Birmingham Hotel happily sit. From your gorgeous digs, you’ll be able to walk to amazing restaurants and bars, catch your flight out in just a ten minute drive (!) and experience all of the history and unique entertainment that lives in the city. FIVE: THE ENTERTAINMENT

And speaking of entertainment… the museums, parks and tourist attractions that make up the city of Birmingham are out of this world amazing, making for one jam-packed itinerary when it comes to your wedding weekend. This is How You Do Southern Charm on St. Simons Island

Give us a wedding packed with Southern charm and you’ll find a happy group of wedding bloggers. But when said wedding is that of one of our very own? It’s time to pop the extra bottle of bubbly. Not only is Maggie and Jamie’s big day sprinkled with the prettiest views at Musgrove, it’s layered with gorgeous bridal portraits (Maggie, you’re stunning!), twinkling market lights and loads of blooms. Ready for more? See it all captured by Brooke Roberts Photography in The Vault.

From the Bride… Jamie and I met at the University of Alabama, it was one of those moments that we instantly knew that we were meant for one another. We settled in New Orleans and after six amazing years of dating Jamie proposed. He thoughtfully planned it all out with numerous surprises: proposing at one of our favorite wine & cocktail bars Oak, flying my parents and sister into town and throwing a surprise party with a few of our close friends and family members. I never would have dreamed this moment up!

The next day while talking with my mother, who had been secretly putting together ideas for the most special day, I reminisced of visiting Musgrove Plantation, one of the most memorable landmarks of my childhood spent on St. Simons Island. My mother couldn’t have been more excited to let me know that she had contacted Musgrove and they had recently started hosting weddings. This hidden gem of a location represented my roots and would be the perfect backdrop to come full circle and share this special memory with my New Orleans family.

Musgrove draws you in like a storybook romance. This beautiful picturesque 600-acre hidden sanctuary on the banks of Village Creek takes you back in time. Musgrove is rich with history from its construction in 1938 by R.J. Reynolds Tobacco heir and philanthropist Nancy Susan Reynolds, to the site for President Carter’s first pre-inaugural cabinet meeting. Musgrove was named after Mary Musgrove, a pioneer acclaimed as the Pocahontas and Sacagawea of the South and known as a cultural liaison between colonial Georgia and Native American societies, for her peace keeping efforts, entrepreneurship, and land claims to the Sea Islands in Georgia.

Mrs. Reynolds felt strongly that the Musgrove mission of family gathering and philanthropy carry on. In the spirit of that mission, generations still enjoy the lush grounds amidst the draping Spanish moss for conferences, retreats and…OUR wedding! While Musgrove offers incredible views and settings for both ceremonies and receptions, we chose nearby Christ Church for our ceremony prior to heading over to Musgrove for our reception. The English colonists established Christ Church in the 1800’s and the current parish house has been preserved with loving care ever since.

Knowing that festival season in New Orleans makes it difficult for our family and friends to travel, we booked May, a perfect time on the island for weather and for guests to get away for a vacation in a unique destination. As soon as we booked Musgrove and Christ Church, we knew we had to start getting down to the nitty gritty with the rest of the wedding planning. Thankfully my mother and her friend Mary Bostock are two incredibly talented and creative women. I knew I had nothing to worry about when it came to making sure my day was everything I could ever want and more.

When it came to my wedding dress I knew I wanted to keep it classic, chic and simple. I was out one day shopping by myself and came across Yvonne La Fleur, known for their beautiful handmade clothes. I had to see what all of the fuss was about. I knew as soon as I tried on my dress that it was, without question, the one. The hand woven lace with pearls overlay and the silk slip was so different from anything I had ever seen. It spoke to me and with much excitement and awe, my soon to be mother-in-law, mother and my sister chimed in with approval.

In searching for non-traditional bridesmaids dresses, I came across a fellow University of Alabama graduate who had been designing beautiful silk bridesmaids gowns in several different styles and hues. Natalie Deayala’s designs were the perfect compliment to my classic wedding dress style. My bridesmaids could pick their favorite style in my chosen blush hue that best complimented them ensuring that everyone felt beautiful and enjoyed wearing the dress throughout the day.

My sister happens to be good friends with Lisa Kerns of Lisa Kerns Jewelry. I am lucky enough to have some of Lisa’s pieces and felt that having pops of blues and greens with the blush hues of the bridesmaid dresses would align with the theme of nature both around us and on us. Plus who doesn’t love the gift of jewelry that will last a lifetime and is very unique?!

Amy Jenkins, of Bienvenue, has been my hairdresser from the time I was a young girl. I trusted her implicitly and knew that she and her colleague Tiffany Jones were exactly whom I needed to bring out the natural beauty in our bridal party. Similarly, Ashley Jordan didn’t miss a brush stroke with compliments of light and natural make-up. I couldn’t have felt more at ease and comforted knowing that this hair and makeup team was on the scene helping us to look natural and feel like ourselves.

Our day was filled with New Orleans wedding ceremonial traditions including the second line tradition and a New Orleans based American funk rock band procession. All of the wedding guests received handkerchiefs designed by my mother-in-law Diane Rabin. Our guests swung their handkerchiefs around behind us while our good friends from Flow Tribe lead the way to the reception.

Brooke Roberts and her husband captured every moment and detail of my special day with ease and grace….even those moments that I was not able to experience during such a busy day. Brooke is so incredibly talented with her natural ability to make you feel at ease and her style of catching the light and the perfect angles. It was something I had never experienced before in a photographer. Every smile and every happy tear was caught on camera without us even noticing that Brooke and her team were around.

Edward Armstrong of Edwards on St. Simons is one of my mother’s near and dear friends. He had already started to help plan the wedding before our engagement. Knowing how classic, natural and tasteful my mother is when it comes to her interior decorating, he took all of that into consideration when they sat down to plan the floral decorations. I knew that I wanted to incorporate the natural vegetation of the island as well as peonies, which are my favorite flowers. Edward combined all of these elements and more by including a touching surprise; adding my grandmother’s very special prayer book to my bouquet. In this way, my grandmother was present with me walking down the aisle and throughout the day.

Our choice of tents and chair, table and linen rentals was easy. Beachview Event Rental & Design is unquestionably one of the best in the business featuring, namely, effortless and classic tent styles. And who better than Janet Brown our talented, creative and thoughtful wedding planner, designer and caterer to take this blank canvas and paint it to mirror Musgrove’s natural elements from oversized festive floral features to local festive fare.

Janet is one of those planners who takes your special day and makes it her own to ensure that the day goes perfectly. She created a beautiful invite to our tent that included elegant classic entryway drapes that glistened with hanging garden lights. The Maplewood dance floor and the grapevine twig balls chandelier mimicked the feel of the beautiful moss covered oak trees. The green and white florals in moss covered urns and vases along with the natural elegance of the bamboo furnishings and celery green and white striped linens were yet more reminders of the gorgeous Musgrove grounds.

This simple southern charm carried over from decor into every aspect of the delicious local foods. Janet did an incredible job of juxtaposing my husband’s New Orleans background and my island lifestyle when designing delicious appetizers and a beautiful dinner. She spent hours at the local farmer’s markets sourcing only the best and most colorful fresh vegetables to roast including yellow summer squash and green beans with cauliflower for a bright and beautiful vegetable display. To compliment the vegetable offering, Janet loves to create elaborate cheese and fruit displays featuring layer upon layer of artisanal cheeses with an abundance of fruits including pears, figs and apricots. This particular display consisted of Georgia’s Sweet Grass Dairy goat cheese rolled in cranberries and pistachio nuts, creamy brie topped with Kahlua and Georgia pecans from Buccaneer Farms, Maytag blue cheese served with bourbon infused honey from Savannah Bee Company, and a mango chutney torta with Georgia peanuts, green onions and golden raisins. Last but not least Janet delighted us with more locally sourced and creatively arranged appetizers including tomato and Vidalia onion tarts and her famous house-made pimento cheese in edible cracker spoons.

Janet didn’t quit there. She made sure that our guests would taste every option that is unique to our specially chosen wedding destination. We had shrimp for days in various formations since Janet is able to get it fresh daily off of the Bay Street docks. Janet’s creations included sweet Georgia shrimp and Andouille sausage in Cajun cream sauce (a tribute to New Orleans) served over stone-ground grits in martini glasses and cold cocktail shrimp marinated in Vidalia onions, lemons, tomato dressing and capers. This dish is very traditionally named Sweet Ga. Shrimp Sea Island. I love Blue Crab and it’s also local so Janet served light lump blue crab salad served in cucumber rounds, and stuffed in cherry tomatoes and endive leaves. It goes without saying that our reception hit every sensory note and our exit lit up the waterfront through a pathway of sparklers and our unforgettable evening.

The wedding cake designed by Mary Ann Daniels of I Do Wedding Cakes was by far the most beautiful and delicious cake I’ve ever had the pleasure of tasting. It was incredibly moist with just a slight hint of sugar. This is the kind of cake that looks too good to eat and keeps you coming back for more when you do. Mary Bostock surprised us by making the cake tablecloth out my mother’s wedding veil. The veil included both our wedding date and my parents wedding date; an heirloom that can be passed down and cherished for generations to come. Another commemorative touch that will remind us of this special day is the guest book. Janet Brown sourced a copy of Island Time by Jingle Davis, a local coffee table history book illustrated with unbelievably fabulous photographs from St. Simons Island.

Even after the farewells and the sparklers shining against the natural moonlight we are reminded of the gift of celebrating as Nancy Reynolds would have intended…surrounded by those we love amidst a backdrop that doesn’t require much adornment. This incredible evening wrapped in love, the natural privacy of the live oaks draped in Spanish moss, the colorful reflections off of the marsh and the wonder of the one-of-a-kind Podocarpus maze will forever be etched in our memory and in Musgrove’s history.

From Jonathan and KayeIf you are looking for one of the most elegant, inspired weddings of the year, look no further – this is it!  From the cherry blossom trees at the ceremony, the beautiful head table and guest tables at the reception, the cherry blossom decal on the dance floor, to BOTH of the bride’s gorgeous gowns – this wedding is as elegant and luxurious as they come.

Jonathan and Clare, having been together for 12 years, have traveled the world together and supported each other through thick and thin.  There is nothing like the love between two people that has truly overcome the test of time.

Their day was stunning from beginning to end.  Mid-way through the reception, the bride re-entered in her new dress with much deserved fanfare.  From there, her and her groom had a surprise choreographed dance planned for their guests, which was executed with perfection.

Jonathan and Clare, your wedding is one for the books!  We will always remember your wedding as one of the most beautiful, yet fun weddings we have ever done.  Congratulations you two!  We wish the best to both of you and what’s yet to come!

From the Bride… Josh and I first met about 10 years ago on the school bus. From that moment I knew that he wasn’t your typical high school boy, and had a crush on him for two years before he asked me out. This January will mark eight years together. On Christmas Day of 2015, he proposed by hiding under a large box that was wrapped like a present. When his mom and sister lifted it off, he was already down on one knee. It completely caught me off guard even though I knew it was coming… only because I may have “hinted” numerous times before.

When it came to planning the wedding, I never had a specific theme in mind but knew that I didn’t want it to be a stereotypical barn wedding. I wanted it to feel very romantic with lots of florals and candlelight. The terms simple and elegant were often used throughout the process. We were very blessed to have the help of friends and family to pull everything together. Josh’s mom has her own business on the side doing cakes and catering called Singell Events, and went above and beyond with making our cakes and desserts, as well as creating the floral arrangements for the reception. The florals for our ceremony created by French Market Flowers were stunning. Cindy was able to capture everything I had imagined and more!

Before the ceremony began, it became significantly colder and started to sprinkle. As Josh and I were standing at the alter, we both became worried as we saw more and more rain drops hitting the officiant’s notebook. I honestly thought that everyone was going to be gone when we turned around! It turned out to be perfect though, and we couldn’t imagine it being any other way. Some of our favorite memories from our day include the ceremony music that a few of our friends and Josh’s sister provided, two of my friends from SCAD painted our ceremony and sketched portraits of our guests, we practiced our first dance in the bridal suite before we made our entrance at the reception, and the dance his sister coordinated for the mother-son dance.

Timeless Elegance for a Southern Winter Wedding

Simply put, this Georgia affair is a winter wedding done so right. Dressed up with the deepest shades of green, there were subtle nods to the season throughout, including the bride’s fur stole that perfectly set the scene. Shauna Veasey didn’t miss a moment behind the camera, and we’re happily spending our day tucked inside the full album.

From Shauna Veasey PhotographyI love this foggy winter wedding at Foxhall Resort featuring a green, white and taupe color palette. The tables were adorned with classic and elegant centerpieces, candles and greenery paired with black Chiavari chair and taupe tablecloths. Bridesmaids wore mismatched green dresses so that each one could choose a style they liked. Groomsmen wore plaid ties while the groom sported a solid, more classic green tie.

A Real Life “Night at the Museum” Wedding!

Matthew and Dawn weren’t about to have your run-of-the-mill wedding day. Not a chance. Instead, they chose The Fernbank Museum (the location of their first date!) and totally embraced the unique venue – dinosaurs and all. Thanks to Kelli Lynn Photography for the images that speak for themselves!

Museum

From Kelli Lynn Photography… This wedding was so unique! The bride & groom own their own photography business, so they had a certain vision in mind for their wedding, and their vision came to life perfectly! The Fernbank Museum is where Matthew & Dawn had their first date, and they wanted to come back to where it all started for their wedding. The museum itself is amazing, with a huge dinosaur sculpture located in the Atrium of the museum. They decided to add to the natural essence of the museum and incorporate dinosaurs into their wedding theme! Not only that, Dawn herself made several of the geometric shapes that were used for centerpieces and for the ceremony decorations herself! One of the highlight features of the wedding decor was the amazing cake that looks like there was geode rock in the cake!

I absolutely LOVE this couple! As photographers themselves, I knew their wedding would be amazing. Not only that, they were the best bride and groom to work with and were a dream to photograph! This wedding definitely promotes taking your wedding vision and running with it. Do not be afraid to step out of the box for your wedding and use decorations and colors that stand out and represent who you are!

From Iris FilmsThere are not too many weddings that get every single detail nailed down to perfection. This was an absolute exception. It was my first time in Augusta, GA, and I loved it. Some of our favorite weddings are outdoor ones and to see Lindsey and Brandon covered in lush greenery while saying their “I do’s” next to the scenic rivers was something to remember. And these guys know how to party!! They were ready to go from the second we arrived until the sun set and long after. From custom airbrushed snap backs, a naked wedding cake, and some killer performances (including one frpm L and B themselves), it was a day to remember for sure. Enjoy!

Stunning Hindu Temple Engagement Session in Atlanta

To put it simply, these photographs took my breath away. Photographed by Elle Golden outside of Atlanta, you are instantly transported and the couple holding your hand is as beautiful as the surroundings. Click here to see the entire gorgeous gallery.

From Elle Golden PhotographyYou don’t have to travel all the way to India for stunning views of traditional Hindu temples. Tucked away in an Atlanta suburb is the BAPS Mandir temple where couple Nihar + Pratibha decided to hold part of their engagement session with Elle Golden Photography. The first half of the session was dedicated to their more casual, daily attire at Atlanta’s charming Summerour Studios. The second half was held at the temple and the couple wore traditional south Asian garments, including a floral saree in beautiful pink and gold tones.

Not Your Typical Winter Wedding Inspiration

Winter brides, just wait until you feast your eyes on this inspiration shoot photographed by Allen Tsai. Set in the rolling hills of Texas, it’s a Southern take on a wintertime wedding with must-pin moments like the stationery by The Left Handed Calligrapher and a sleek white cake from HoneyLove Cakery. Pop to the gallery for even more moments, including the absolute sweetest horse-drawn carriage.

The classic equestrian styling of Ralph Lauren blended with the regal influences of the Downton Abbey countryside were the inspirations for this shoot. The rolling Texas hills and fall foliage of The Flying V Ranch provided the perfect canvas for this refined editorial. A dessert spread was curated on top of an antique letterpress cabinet, complete with an antique silver coffee service and a simple but stunning cake from Honey Love Cakery. Another striking vignette provides masculine whimsy with a cocktail bar set on top of an antique shop cabinet featuring a set of antique tobacco pipes for the gentlemen of the evening. The floral palette, by Blushington Blooms, incorporates warm, neutral tons of white and cream, with deep burgundy accents and greenery for a loose organic feel. Wintery bliss was accomplished with a full lace Berta gown, provided by The Bridal Boutique, and a stunning mink provided by David Hunt Furs. The passion between the real life, soon to be bride and groom is palpable. Perfected by Q The MUA and captured by Allen Tsai Photography, scenes of the couple in a masculine horse and carriage among the countryside and a serene canoe ride inspire the old romantic soul in all.

This Georgia Vineyard Wedding Looks Straight Out of Tuscany!

When you look through the images by Amy Arrington, it’s hard to believe this wedding didn’t actually take place in Italy. The sweeping vineyard views set the scene for Sam and Michael’s incredible day and you’ll fall hard when you dive into the gallery and film below by Before Your Eyes Cinema.

From the Bride… When Mike and I sat down to discuss our wedding, we both knew that we did not want the standard affair. We love to travel and one of our first big trips together was to Italy and wine country. When we started to discuss venues, our thoughts immediately returned to those memories of rolling hills, grape vines, and Tuscany. The venue was therefore set, a winery, but how would we transport Italy to North Georgia? Enter Montaluce Winery, the first and only venue that we visited. It was an Italian oasis set among the mountains of North Georgia, and after our fist visit, when the vineyard was coated in a light dusting of snow, we knew we had found the perfect place to get married. With the venue locked in, the rest of our preparations began to fall into place.

While he was initially hesitant, I was able to talk my husband into a first look. The pictures and memories of us looking at each other, secluded between the high vines of the grapes is a moment we will both hold onto forever. Those few moments of solitude, to be with each other outside of the events of the day, reminded us of what all the planning and preparation was for; a celebration of our love. The timing of the first look and the perfection of the autumn light allowed us to capture some of the most beautiful and unique photos of the day, and freed us up after the ceremony to enjoy time with our friends and loved ones who had come to celebrate with us.

Our ceremony was also unique to our situation. As we both worked at the Children’s Hospital, we are fortunate to call one of the Chaplains a dear friend . Mike and I are both people of faith and having a friend who is also a Chaplain allowed us to have an intimate, personal ceremony that was a reflection of our personalities and our love. Reverend Rachel was able to create a ceremony that was not only spiritual, and honored our families, but reflected the best of us as individuals, and as a couple.

While our big day was a collaboration, and my husband and I agreed on most aspects of the wedding, there was one issue on which he would not budge, a live band. This turned out to be one of our best decisions. The sound of live music from the Emerald Empire Band filling the venue, accompanied by their energy invigorated the dance floor and led to some of the more memorable moments of the night. We will forever remember standing arm in arm with family and friends singing the chorus to ‘Sweet Caroline” at the top of our lungs. The sounds of the band and looks on everyone’s faces are the enduring legacy of the beauty and love that made our wedding day so special.

From the Bride… I had so many parts of the day that I loved, but a few favorites included putting my dress on and showing it to family and the girls for the first time, walking down the aisle to see Colin for the first time, and how incredible I felt during my bridal portraits. It was the best day! For me, so much of my style inspiration was centered around the venue. I wanted the design to be elegant but to also have a rustic & whimsical feel. My bouquet was incredible and incorporated my love of succulents in a way that still tied into the fall season. I wanted it to feel casual and for people to feel comfortable, while still having jaw dropping details. Lots of greenery in the reception added to the whimsical feel, as well as the trailing ribbons in our bouquets.

Inspiration for the Fashion-Forward Bride

If you’ve never considered wearing a cape on your wedding day, this photo shoot is all the inspiration you’ll ever need. Photographed by Almond Leaf Studios and designed and planned in the hands of Emily Claire Events, it’s a fashion heavy, floral loving slice of pretty guaranteed to find a place on your Pinterest boards. Find even more to love inside The Vault.

From Emily, the planner and designer… We knew that we wanted our inspiration to be the chic Atlanta bride, so we included a mix of classic yet slightly modern details. Fashion is front and center here with the bride wearing a gorgeous Caroline Hayden gown, Oscar de la Renta earrings, and Christian Louboutin heels. We loved how structural the gown was and how the cape gently flowed across the staircase at the venue. If that cape doesn’t make you feel like a queen on your wedding day, then we don’t know what will!

Ivory satin linens, ghost chairs, and silver details set the stage for the fabulous tones in the flowers to shine through. Peonies, carnations, roses, and ranunculus play together beautifully as they cascade across the table. Every brides favorite shade of blush, peach, and ivory can be seen making an appearance!

From the Bride…Colton and I met our senior year of college on September 24th 2010, the night before our alma maters met on the football field. I went to the University of South Carolina and was in Auburn, Alabama visiting my best friend. Little did I know that a trip to visit her would lead me to find my husband. Colton and I had an instant connection and were inseparable the rest of the time I was there. On Game day, we got separated from our friends and ended up going into the game together, just the two of us. While in the stands, a girl came up to us and asked how long we had been dating because she said we were an adorable couple. Little did she know we had known each other less than 24 hours. Two weeks later Colton came to visit me in South Carolina and the next weekend I was back in Auburn visiting him. On day 21 we officially started dating and on day 36, Halloween, we said I love you for the first time. From that day on we travelled back and forth between Alabama and South Carolina every weekend until I graduated. In fact, the first 3 years of our relationship we were a long-distance couple. I went away to graduate school and while we didn’t see each other every weekend like we did that first year we came pretty close. After 3 years of long distance the time came for us to finally live in the same city. On October 18th 2014, 3 days after our 4-year anniversary, Colton proposed

Wedding planning started immediately. We knew that we wanted three things. A wedding planner, a neutral color palette, and to honor our strong family ties. We looked to our past to prepare for our future, and make our wedding special. My grandparents who passed away before Colton and I got engaged had a big influence on our day. The center diamond in my engagement ring was my Nana’s diamond, and my grandparents 61st anniversary was the day before our wedding day, which played into the day we chose. We also used the guest book they used at their wedding as our own. Another way that we incorporated family traditions was with the selection of my wedding gown. The women in my family have all worn long sleeve lace gowns and I wanted to carry on that tradition. Colton also carried on a family tradition, his best man was the son of his father’s best man. Both of us had been raised catholic, so it was also very important to both families to have a traditional Catholic wedding.

Colton and I had talked about wanting the venue to have an industrial feel or for it to be a distillery or brewery of some kind. We were so lucky that American Spirit Works, a Whiskey Distillery, and special events venue was opening it’s doors just in time for our special day. It provided the perfect industrial, rustic backdrop for our big day. When Colton and I booked the venue, we had nothing more than a rendering of what the space was going to look like to go off of, but we loved the vision so we booked the venue with complete trust in the events team there. Once we had the venue locked in, the real planning started and our wedding slowly but surely started to come together.

The venue led us to our theme–“industrial glam”. Since we wanted neutral colors we incorporated mixed metals including galvanized tin, silver and copper to make it feel more industrial. In addition to the mixed metals, Crush Event Rentals custom designed a lighting fixture with Edison bulbs to hang in the middle of our dance floor. We also knew that we wanted white flowers and a lot of greenery to add a soft contrast to the space and give it a glamorous/romantic feel. Our amazing florist was able to take our vision to the next level and make everything look breathtaking.

In addition to the custom lighting fixture, we wanted a few statement pieces to bring the design together and to pay homage to the city where we would start our lives together. The head table had long garland down the middle, copper mugs for everyone in the wedding party and a beige love seat for Colton and I to sit at together. Since I am from Atlanta, we incorporated custom made “Share a Coke” bottles, as the table assignments. We encouraged all of our guests to “Share a Coke with the Wilburn’s” as they found their seats. One thing about the venue that we really enjoyed was the main bar area which was a gorgeous wood statement piece with a very large chalkboard mounted on the wall behind it. We were able to create a custom drink menu with personal touches which added to the overall look and feel of the space. We worked with a local artist to design a beautiful pattern that we incorporated onto the chalk board that just set the bar area off.

Our top three favorite moments of the day were fairly easy for us to choose. Walking down the aisle with my dad, seeing Colton for the first time was unforgettable. It was a moment we had been working for and building toward for 5 years all culminating in one look. The next was seeing our venue for the very first time. As I said earlier, the venue itself was a work in progress when we booked it. So, when we finally got to see all of the decorations and little details we stressed over for months come together, was truly special. And finally, the dance floor! Not only our first dance which is, of course, an awesome memory; but dancing with all of our friends and family was outstanding. All of the stress and worry we had leading up to the wedding was forgotten as soon as the music started and everyone cut loose. It was the best night of our lives.

A piece of advice we would give to engaged couples would be to be true to yourself, and to always choose each other every day. Another huge piece of advice I would give, is to find and to hire a wedding planner that understands what you are looking for. We completely trusted Laura to execute our vision and keep our best interests in mind. She made the entire experience much more manageable and enjoyable for a bride who is not extremely organized.
