Mason Murer Art Gallery Wedding from Artstar by Laura Stone

The neutral color palette of this Atlanta art gallery totally hits the spot today. It’s classic and beautiful and it lets the happy couple shine through their big day together. You can completely tell from the images Artstar by Laura Stone sent our way that the day was so special. It’s so great to see a traditional wedding with a twist, centered around the most important aspects of the day – the couple, the love they share for each other, and the love they have for a few of their favorite things (Krispy Kream doughnuts, anyone?). I’ve fallen head over heels for this timeless affair, and I am positive you will love it too. Click here for more of this chic couple over at Artstar’s blog!

Ken and  I met through a coworker of mine who was dating a coworker of his (they are now happily married). My coworker had been trying to set us up for a year but we were both dating other people. We both ended our relationships in May and we met on a blind date on July 7th. As soon as I saw him walk across the set of windows at the restaurant, I knew this could be something good!

After nearly four months of dating, Ken proposed to me at my parents’ mountain home in Cashiers, NC. Ken is a Georgia Bulldog and I’m a Florida Gator so naturally we were engaged on the Florida vs. Georgia game day! Ken had a bag of game day goodies and stopped me at a bench by the pond on the way to breakfast at the house.  He said we was worried some of his game swag might be over the top, especially in front of my parents, and wanted me to take a peek at the silly items he had bought. The first thing was a fortune cookie that I opened and said “Go Dawgs!” He apologized, saying he gave me the wrong one. As I opened the next fortune cookie, he got down on his knee – I thought it was to keep rummaging through the bag…but then the fortune read “I love you Jadideah. Will you Marry Me?”

I had been to multiple charity cocktail events at Mason Murer Art Gallery and they were able to completely redesign the gallery to cater to each event. Every party was amazing and so much fun. I loved the spaces and how uniquely the art complemented the social atmosphere. Ken and I went to a charity event that had multiple food tastings from popular Atlanta restaurants. I remember sitting with him at a small table and thinking how great would it be to have a wedding reception here!  I asked him what he thought of this place and he loved it.

The inspiration for the wedding was from a line I had written somebody about what I was looking for in a man – “I want a champagne-drinking, caviar-eating man with style, class and taste, who can also drink beer out of a can wearing shorts and flip flops while watching football at a barbeque.” So my theme was a black tie event with champagne and fine wines, tenderloin and an antipasti table combined with chili dogs, chili burgers, fries and onion rings from Atlanta’s famous Drive-In, The Varsity and Burritos from Moe’s.  A surprise visit around 10:30pm with hot doughnuts from Krispy Kreme, milk shakes and sliders.

The colors were all about me. I don’t like much color so white, cream and beige were pretty much it. Perfect in a white art gallery! The color was in the artwork. It was fabulous!

My most vivid memory was of course the actual ceremony and being so excited to be married to this man. But the next one was Ken on stage playing guitar and singing with the band. So amazing!

The Savannah Golf Club Wedding by Nate Henderson Photography

Today’s wedding is definitely a near and dear. In a way, I’ve kind of watched the bride grow up. And turn into one of the sweetest, most beautiful girls I know. You see, I met Leonora 10 years ago when her sister (dark hair, bridesmaid below and the queen of all things fab) when we became besties at Vanderbilt. Leonora was a baby back then. A holy cow beautiful baby, but a little girl none the less. Over the years, we watched her graduate from high school, head off to college, move her super smarty pants to NYC and fall in love with a very cute boy. And now we get to see the day that she become a Mrs. So without further ado…here is our Leonora’s perfect Savannah wedding. And PS…there is so much more in the galleries. And PPS…her sister Court (my bestie) is the owner of Glow MedSpa and Beauty Boutique in Savannah who just happens to be a LBB member and does THE best wedding day beauty on the planet. Shameless plug, but totally true. xoxo, Abby

From the Bride…Brian went to UNC and is a huge “Tarheel” fan, so we decided to have a blue and white color scheme! Our wedding coordinator was helpful in directing us to vendors but in terms of styling the wedding, my mother and I did all the planning. We wanted everything about our wedding to be very personal so we used friends as vendors as much as possible. We had my high school English teacher design our wedding invitations. They were hand-written calligraphy and engraved. We chose our family friend, John Davis, to design our flowers. Our good friend Mollie Stone made our delicious wedding cake. The wedding ceremony was at St. John’s Episcopal Church, the church I have attended all my life. The reception was held at the Savannah Golf Club which is almost home away from home for my family, as they are all golfers and my mom recently helped with the interior design of the new clubhouse.

At St. John’s Church, I got dressed at our Parish House, the historic Green Meldrim House directly next to the church. It was very special dressing in the same room my mother did thirty years before when she married my dad. I did not want to see Brian before the wedding so we arranged to always be in opposite areas before the service. It really added to the anticipation before the ceremony. The flowers in the church were all white lilies, hydrangeas, peonies and roses. Pew markers lined the aisle and the smell of the arrangements was wonderful. There were candles in all of the windows and the church simply glowed in the afternoon light. After the service we took our photographs across the street in Madison Square. The beautiful oak trees framed the pictures with the church. Brian and I also took more photographs on the golf course at the reception.

For our flowers at the reception, we used large manzanita branches decorated with white roses and hydrangea. For the main entrance into the ballroom, our florist designed a beautiful archway using the same flowers. I think my favorite detail was the incredible eight foot ice sculpture holding another huge flower arrangement over the middle of the raw seafood bar. We had a vodka and champagne ice luge set up on the back veranda that was a popular attraction throughout the evening. Rather than a seated dinner, we passed tomato sandwiches, fried oysters, and cajun chicken salad on endives. And we had stations of our favorite foods: a raw seafood bar with shrimp and crab claws, beef tenderloin, pasta, mini-slider burgers (Brian’s favorite!), fruit and cheese, and fried chicken (a Southern staple!). Our wedding cake had seven tiers and was almond-vanilla flavored. It was decorated with a diamond pattern of ecru icing. For the groom’s cake, we had a chocolate cake in the shape of the UNC basketball court. All of Brian’s UNC friends loved it!

The whole wedding came together perfectly…It was the most fun night of our lives!

* * *

Thank you so much to Leonora and Brian for sharing their beautiful wedding with us! We love you so very much. And a big, hearty hug to all of the Victors…Bubba, Barb, Jason, Cameron, Ellie the dog and everyone else. WE HEART YOU!!!

Madison Oaks Inn and Gardens Wedding by Kaylan Photography

Another day on Style Me Pretty Georgia means another lovely wedding for me to love.  And, oh, what a wedding it is.  These Madison nuptials by Kaylan Photography have me completely giddy from all of the gorgeousness.  It’s true, I’ve literally been swooning over every amazing detail for hours now.  From the stunning floral design by Renee Souther to those oh-so-charming “Mr.” and “Mrs.” signs, I am one enamored blogger.  And I wouldn’t dare forget to mention the cheesecake bar.  Yes.  Please.  I’ll be in the gallery getting my pretty on.  Join me there!

From Kaylan Photography Ashley and Sam’s wedding was truly amazing. The details that Ashley put into each part of the wedding made it personal and unique, defiantly a wedding no one will forget. Ashley and her bridesmaid arrived at the James Madison Spa off the beautiful square in Madison, Georgia. They all enjoyed mimosas, had their hair done by the amazing Casey Wilbanks and laughed the whole morning. The guys were able to have some fun playing football and relaxing before heading over to the venue too. As both parties arrived at the venue Sam and Ashley decided to see each other before the ceremony. The both were in “ah” of each other which was an amazing moment to be a part of while photographing their “first sight”.

Ashley and Sam’s ceremony was one the sweetest ceremony’s I have ever seen. These two wrote their own vows which made for an emotional and personal experience for them as well as their guests. I was even crying behind the camera! It was beautiful. As the guests proceeded for the cocktail hour Ashley and Sam joined them. The guests all were amazed by the beautiful decor that Ashley and Hallie Jane put into the wedding. Lanterns which were inspired by her engagement shoot were hung all around the venue, burlap and a rustic feel was presented throughout the wedding & a cigar bar that was huge hit. After a delicious meal the couple cut into probably the BEST cheesecake ever created and the band then had the all the guests dancing. One of the best bands in Atlanta I’d have to say! Sam and Ashley had just as fun as their guests on their wedding day – it was honestly one of the best weddings put together by some amazing people.

From the Bride…I love telling our story. My freshman year of college in Birmingham I was a nanny for a little girl. Aaron just so happened to be her preschool teacher. I picked her up three days a week, but Aaron never really talked to me about anything other than the little girl (so I assumed he wasn’t interested). Come to find out, he was interested all along and would wake the little girl up first every day to have her start eating snack in hopes that I would stay while she finished – but I always just had her pack up the snack and left. During Christmas break, Aaron decided to make it happen. Bad news was that the little girl’s mom left her job and no longer needed me to babysit and pick her up from preschool. But the Lord brought us together anyway. Right after I got back from Christmas break Aaron and I ran into each other at our college ministry. We had both been involved the entire year but since it was such a large ministry our paths had never crossed. I remember seeing him sit in front of me during the worship time. That was our connection – I realized that he loved the Lord as I watched him worship. Afterward we talked and ended up sitting together the next week, which was when he asked me out on a date. We had the best first date ever. A pizza parlor, a late night stroll through Mountain Brook, breaking into the Botanical Gardens, and talking for hours on what later became “our” bench. It was after this night that both of us could see ourselves marrying one another. Two and a half years later, Aaron proposed to me on our bench. The Lord has continued His faithfulness to us throughout our entire relationship, leading all the way up to our wedding weekend. Everything could not have been more perfect. The Lord was glorified in every aspect and we were so blessed to have had so much fun with our friends and family. It was an amazing way to start our marriage!

I wanted my wedding style to be simple, but very “shabby chic”. I was really excited about using baby’s breath. Along with the mason jars, burlap, different shabby chic fabrics for the place card boards, the suitcases for the cards, and the distressed books for the sign-in, the baby’s breath was the delicate touch that brought everything together. I was also really excited about my favors- I’m obsessed with chapstick. We found some yummy flavors and put song lyrics on the chapsticks from our favorite band, Drew Holcomb and the Neighbors. During the reception, Aaron and I were saying hello to the guests in the side room. This had been going on for some time while the wedding party was dancing in the main room. Our wedding party decided that it was time for us to join them so they dragged us into the main room and onto the dance floor. That was when the party really got started. The groomsmen decided that it would be a great idea to lift Aaron up into the air. Naturally, the bridesmaids followed the groomsmen’s example and lifted me up into the air as well. This was such a fun and exciting moment that captured the celebration that took place that night.

Park Tavern Wedding by carolynA events

Oh, Georgia.  My love affair with you is never-ending.  One gorgeous Southern soiree after another has me seriously considering a move to the Peach State.  Take for example this Atlanta stunner courtesy of the oh-so-amazing carolynA events.  If the pink and black color palette wasn’t enough to have me completely smitten (it is), there’s the breathtaking outdoor ceremony and tented reception, complete with a black and white checkered dance floor.  And those bouquets by Le Bonne Fleur?  I die.  My Life Photography was there to capture every last ounce of pretty, so join me in the gallery for even more!

From carolynA events From the moment I met Meagan and Mark they came emitted and stylish and completely sophisticated vibe, perfect for a wedding that reflected every part of the city they had both grown up in and loved.

They complimented dark grays with bright pops of pink and white, using hydrangea and peonies to add stunning texture.  As the announcement of husband and wife came Mark swept up Meagan and gave her a kiss she will always remember.  The bride, groom, and guests enjoyed a dinner and a variety of mini-cupcakes.  As the night grew darker we brought out the glow sticks, the grandmother of the groom was even dancing the night away!  With the Atlanta skyline in the background the atmosphere was electric.

Personal touches were abundant from a glittered wishing tree to trendy, and practical, koozies filled with candy as favors.  A sparkler exit capped the night and set the tone for a perfect summer wedding season in the city.

Harper Fowlkes House Wedding by Nate Henderson Photography

I owe Nate Henderson a very big thank you.  He’s responsible for the stunning images of this oh-so-lovely Savannah wedding, which has literally made my day with its effortlessly chic, Southern style.  Potted plants lining the tables, a courtyard reception at the historic Harper Fowlkes House and one thousand paper cranes (handmade by the groom) hanging from the trees at the reception… You’re smiling already, right?  And I haven’t even mentioned the burlap table runners and the twinkle lights!  This is definitely a wedding of the day-making kind and I think it’s the perfect way to end the week here on Style Me Pretty Georgia.  See all of the pretty here!

From Nate Henderson PhotographyJohn and Catie met in New York where he was the lead carpenter on a project that Catie was the architect. Catie grew up in Statesboro, GA and the couple decided upon downtown Savannah as the host for their union as husband and wife.

The ceremony took place at Trinity United Methodist Church, and the reception was just a short walk for their guests at the historic Harper-Fowlkes House courtyard. 1,000 paper cranes (made by John) hung from the trees at the reception; it was an awesome and beautiful sight. Simple potted plants adorned the tables, which were marked with old family photos, and each guest received a petite gift journal. The southern food by Chef Nick Mueller included fried green tomatoes, crab cakes, mac & cheese, and brisket among the amazing selection.

As the night ended, John and Catie released a candle-lit lantern into the air; many guests signed it as part of a German custom.

The Peachtree Club Wedding by Scobey Photography

Yellow, pink, orange and green.  I didn’t realize how much I loved the combination until now, but what a sweet, sweet color palette it is.  And as an accent to this fab.u.lous Atlanta wedding, it’s just downright awesome.  And I adore it all in a big way.  In fact, there’s not a detail in these gorgeous nuptials by Scobey Photography that I don’t love.  The aforementioned color palette, the lovely blooms by Blossoms Atlanta, the bride’s incredible gown… I could go on and on.  I’ll let you dive on in to all of stunning images, but prepare yourself for all of the pretty!  See it every last bit here!

From the Bride… “Are you ready for the big day?” Another reminder of ALL the things left undone in preparation for our wedding. I must have answered that oh-so- popular inquiry a thousand times! Between that and The Knot’s daunting to do list, which greeted me each day with the number of overdue tasks (which, of course, always outnumbered the completed tasks), planning definitely seemed like mission impossible. Yet my answer to the question never changed. “Well, I have a groom who is my best friend, a minister to make our marriage official,  and a dress so that I don’t have to get married in the buff, so I guess I am ready!” Sure, I may have barely scratched the surface of the infinite To-Do list, but there was a light at the end of the tunnel guiding me through… Marriage. At the end of the day, isn’t that the point of the whole shebang? And holding to that simple yet easily forgotten principle made planning a joy and a breeze, because I knew no matter what the outcome of the day may be, at the end of it I would be married to my best friend.

Soak up every minute, because it goes by so quickly! That was possibly the best advice given to me about my “South meets the City” wedding. What took so long to arrive was gone in the blink of an eye. And perfect. Sure it poured all afternoon, the cake was late, and some flowers came in the wrong shade, but the look on my groom’s face as I practically ran down the aisle to him (sorry Dad) made up for all of that and so much more. The support of all our loved ones, the gorgeous Atlanta sunset, and all of our memories being captured by some of our sweetest and most talented friends, Scobey Photography, what more could a bride ask for? The song my father and I danced to really summed the day up perfectly. “When you’re smiling, the whole world smiles with you…”

Savannah Military Wedding from Morgan Gallo Events

There are so many special details in this Savannah wedding, captured by Shannon Christopher, I don’t really know where to start. We’re completely swooning over the bride’s decision to wear her mother’s wedding gown for her ceremony – for sentiment – and her change into a gown of her own choosing – for glamour – on her big day. Such a great way of celebrating her history. And speaking of paying homage, the sweet, Americana undertones woven throughout the entire day honored the groom beautifully, as he was deployed during the planning of this lovely affair. With the help of Morgan Gallo Events, the bride and groom were able to plan a day as beautiful as the tears the groom shed. The best part is that the whole affair continues in the gallery!

From Morgan Gallo Events … Beverly and Kenyon are so very special in many different ways. Beverly planned their wedding while Kenyon was overseas serving our country and that played an intricate part of the planning process. One of our favorite memories from this wedding was that Beverly actually wore her mother’s wedding dress – unaltered – for their wedding ceremony and then slipped into a more modern dress to dance the night away.

Guests enjoyed lawn games and beverages prior to the ceremony. A US Flag draped the table holding patriotic themed ceremony programs and mini flags, that were handed out to wave as the couple exited back down the aisle as the new Mr. and Mrs.

The theme was southern with infusing some old with new. Long tables were decorated with handmade runners, jars filled with peony’s and covered in lace doilies were surrounded by Georgia peaches and our famous Spanish moss and they sat on a few books. The plates were actually the bride’s grandmother’s china. At the end of the night, the couple released “Wish Lanterns” in honor of those that have passed before them.

Sunflower Farm Engagement Session by Buffy Dekmar Photography

Oh to be engaged. It is such an exciting moment in a couple’s life and this excitement and love is just bursting from each and every image of today’s shoot captured by Buffy Dekmar Photography. And what better place to hold an engagement session than a Sunflower Farm? Bright and joyful, frolicking in a field with the one you love. Does it get any better than that? I think not. See more of this love fest in the full gallery!

From Buffy Dekmar PhotographyMeagan and Joe are one of those couples who are just clearly meant to be together. They will be getting married this November in Pine Mountain, Georgia. When we first met Meagan to talk about the wedding, we learned that she absolutely loves sunflowers because of her fond memories of her grandfather and his sunflower garden… So we did a little research and found this sunflower farm in Rutledge, Georgia, which made the perfect place to document the love she and Joe share for each other! The golden light from the late Georgia summer sunset made the mood just right for these two to dance and play together as we hid behind the fences and stems to capture the pure, simple joy of the moment. Such a fun session!

Jekyll Island Club Hotel Wedding by Agnes Lopez Photography

Oh boy, am I loving Style Me Pretty Georgia.  It’s literally been one amazing wedding after another, all filled with gorgeous brides, wonderful details and fabulous locations.  And these stunning Jekyll Island nuptials are no exception to the Georgia weddings rule.  (And I am thoroughly convinced there is one.) There are so many incredible details, from those bouquets by Floriade to that beautiful color palette, I have been in swoon-mode since the moment I saw these brilliant images by Agnes Lopez Photography. And when I spotted that ah-mazing gown, well, it was all over for me.  I plan to buy that dress, move to Georgia and see what happens.  In the meantime, let’s spend some time in the gallery!

Click here to see the entire gallery of images!

From the Bride… Alex and I got married at the Jekyll Island Club on Jekyll Island, GA.  We had our ceremony in the romantic Crane Garden and our reception next door at the beautiful Crane Cottage & Courtyard.  When Alex and I started discussing our wedding we didn’t focus on colors or a theme, instead we discussed how we wanted our wedding to feel.  We knew we wanted to include our guests in the entire weekend and for everyone to feel like they were a part of the celebration.  We also knew the only way to accomplish that would be a destination wedding which was close enough to both our home towns and Charleston, SC, where we live now.  The first time we visited the Jekyll Island Club, we realized quickly it was exactly what we were looking for! I grew up in Atlantic Beach, Florida not too far from Jekyll Island and visited as a child.  Both Alex and I were fascinated by the Island and Hotel’s history. Jekyll Island is such a magical and inviting place and is a gorgeous backdrop for a wedding.  We knew that if everything worked out that it was the perfect place to celebrate all weekend with family and friends!

My mom guided us through the entire planning process.  She made sure everything was gorgeous and everyone was happy!  We had so much fun working together on every detail to create a timeless, fun and low key celebration.  And celebrate, we did!  Our band kept everyone on the dance floor and the Crane Cottage and Courtyard created the perfect flow for our guests to mingle and enjoy the gorgeous clear night.  We couldn’t have asked for better weather the entire weekend and I was so happy that we were able to cut our cake in the Courtyard and have all the bars outside, too.  I love the old world feeling of the Hotel and especially the Crane Cottage and spending the evening under the stars in the Courtyard only added to the romantic and warm atmosphere. I have so many amazing memories from the entire weekend but my absolute favorite was walking down the aisle and seeing Alex anxiously waiting for me gleaming with the biggest smile I’ve ever seen! Some of my other favorite memories; staying with my sisters and cousin the night before the wedding and dancing the night away with everyone I love and looking down at all my friends and family from high up in the air while doing the Horah!  It was an absolutely perfect weekend!

Elegant Atlanta Wedding by Ali Harper Photography

YES!  I have been going through Ali Harper Photography‘s images from this sweet Georgia peach of an Atlanta wedding and just proclaiming my undying love for all the world to hear!  It is just about as close to reception perfection as I think you can get.  It’s modern and playful, sophisticated and elegant and chic-to-the-max!  I can’t get over how gorgeous the bridesmaids look in their coral Bari Jay gowns. Give yourself a treat this morning and check out the full gallery!

From Ali Harper Photography… Yes, you can meet the man of your dreams just by getting up the nerve to talk to that cute guy in seat 24A! Mandy and Todd literally struck up a conversation on a plane thousands of feet up in the air and haven’t stopped talking since. In fact, the groom’s cake was a cute nod to their serendipitous beginnings! Their color palette was just as bold – and with it being 94 degrees out, Mandy chose the perfect shades of butter yellow and bright coral for the day; her bridesmaids seriously looked like Greek goddesses. These colors echoed within all the reception details – the modern, sophisticated and graphic feel of the fabrics perfectly complimented the glamour of Greystone and the Atlanta skyline as the wedding’s backdrop. Speaking of Atlanta, Mandy and a handful of her bridesmaids were all UGA Cheerleaders together and it made perfect sense for the Georgia mascot, “Hairy Dawg” to make an appearance – and he ended up dancing the whole night away with all of the guests!

From Jenna Walker Photographers… Libby’s southern roots and Bryan’s New York ties shined through in this eclectic ‘Welcome Y’all” wedding celebration in Libby’s hometown of Augusta, Georgia. They danced the night away in a backyard reception just minutes from the famous Augusta National Golf Course.

Highlights from the wedding included several singing performances by Bryan, a drum solo by Libby’s brother – and a band that would keep the party going. The property twinkled with the draping of lights across the pool and the shine of their sparkler departure.

Donalsonville Wedding by Meg Baisden Photography

I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again.  I absolutely LOVE it when I see a bride rockin’ a pair of cowboy boots on the big day.  Love.  It.  And not only did this gorgeous Donalsonville bride don cowboy boots with her stunning gown, she also realized a childhood dream and held her oh-so-charming nuptials in her parents’ garden.  Add to that the handsome groom in uniform and I am literally drowning in a sea of wedding goodness.  All captured in amazing images by Meg Baisden Photography and designed to perfection by David Ethridge, this wedding is one lovely Southern detail after another.  And I, for one, am completely smitten.  Join me in the gallery for even more!

From the Bride… To quote the immortal Steel Magnolias, “my colors are blush and bashful.” I knew since I was a little girl that I wanted a Shelby Eatonton, pink, Southern backyard extravaganza when I got married. Our wedding day was more than I could have ever dreamed of (particularly my sweet, handsome groom in his Air Force tuxedo).

Alex and I got married in my hometown of Donalsonville, and the out-of-town guests got a taste of South Georgia at its finest. My wonderful parents hosted the reception in their garden. I think my mother worked for a year and a half straight, and it paid off. Her garden is gorgeous! Guests pulled up to our yard and were greeted by spiked sweet tea, Georgia peach sangria, and lemonade under our ancient oak tree, which was be-decked with sparkly chandeliers. The small-town details peeked out everywhere, from family photos to my grandmother’s chest of drawers in the outdoor living room.

We dined al fresco in the front yard on Southern fare (including fried chicken, fried green tomatoes, chicken salad, macaroni and cheese), and then we went to the the back yard for some dancing, cake, and liquid refreshments. Some guests stayed warm with kegs of beer and bonfires, while others boogied on the dance floor. Unfortunately, we don’t have any photographs of the entire wedding party’s epic cake fight and swim in the pool (yes, I ended up in the pool in my dress). The night ended perfectly at 3 am, when Daddy chased everybody off with a shotgun!

From the Bride… David and I were introduced in May of ’09 on the dating site eHarmony. After a few months of emailing and phone chats, I finally decided to give David a shot and they planned to meet for a happy hour drink after work one evening. One glass of wine turned into great conversation about our southern roots and goals and hopes for life and we haven’t parted ways ever since.

On 10.10.10 David set up the day as a regular Saturday – drop by the dry cleaners, head out for some lunch, relax at the park. Lunch was perfect, the walk in the park though, was not the setting David had hoped for. There was a huge festival that day and not a corner of the park was quiet and romantic. We drove until we found a quiet place and landed at Springdale Park near Fernbank. Not a soul in sight – Perfect! A glass of wine and an exchange of cards to celebrate what I thought was our anniversary. When I opened the card there was a beautiful little gold heart on a chain. The card read “when you have love all you need is love now close your eyes and make a wish.” When I opened my eyes David had a gorgeous ring in hand and asked me to be his wife.

From Lovelee Affairs… From the moment I first met Jessica and David, I just loved them. They are the kind of people who know what they want but want to have a fun time doing it. I had the chance to work with them just a few weeks after their engagement so we planned every little detail together from A-Z.

Jessica and David wanted a rustic wedding that was casual, fun and a celebration of love. Jessica chose a palette of pinks and browns that we carried throughout the wedding; we used some of spring’s most gorgeous pink flowers: ranunculus, garden roses and peonies.  Wooden farm tables paired with gold chiavari chairs gave the room a casual feel with a touch of elegance. Each detail of the wedding was carefully planned to reflect the bride + groom. The menu was a southern fusion incorporating items from the groom’s home state of Texas and the bride’s home state of Louisiana. The venue doors were adorned with hand-made moss letters {J+D}. Guests really enjoyed our polaroid guest book station as they were able to capture pictures of themselves and the bride and groom throughout the evening. Jessica and David love Savannah, GA and it has much meaning to their relationship so when it came time to decide on the wedding favors, Savannah Bee Honey seemed perfect! Each guest departed with a jar of honey at the end of night. It was one sweet wedding.

Savannah Wedding from Three Ring Media

There are so many reasons we’re sure you love Saturday mornings, LBBers, but we’ve got just one in mind today. Absolutely, positively stunning, gorgeous, emotionally charged, goose-bump-inducing wedding cinematography. Yes, we like to save our favorite wedding trailers, same day edits, and highlight films for the weekend. That way, your boss doesn’t catch you with mascara running down your face while you’re at work. You’re welcome. Today, we have a Savannah Wedding from Three Ring Media that can only be described as beautiful. You’ll love it. And, while we’re on this topic, have you seen our new Cinematography Page on SMP? We have a lineup of some of the most amazing wedding films out there – all for your viewing pleasure, any day of the week.

Pretty stunning, huh? Suzanne from Three Ring Media (how clever is that name, by the way?) sent over the cinematic trailer she shot of Jeanine and Eric’s Savannah wedding. Get ready for the goosebumps!

Eric & Jeanine’s Cinematic Trailer from Three Ring Media on Vimeo

Jeanine and Eric met in 2001 at Northwestern University.  They were enrolled in the same English class and quickly became friends.  After the class ended, they stayed in touch but the timing was not right to start a relationship until two years later when both Eric and Jeanine ended previous relationships.

In 2003 and on a whim, Jeanine instant messaged Eric and asked if he’d like to get together over the weekend.  He quickly responded and after a night out in Chicago, which ended with a kiss, they began dating.  Seven years later, Eric asked Jeanine to marry her while on a Valentines weekend getaway in Steamboat, Colorado.

Jeanine and Eric planned a Chicago wedding but changed their plans after visiting Savannah, Georgia where they fell in love all over again.  They were married at The Ford Plantation – a location they surreptitiously found while perusing Savannah wedding photos on a wedding website.

Georgia Vineyard Wedding from Artstar by Laura Stone

Laura Stone of Artstar Photography sent us this charming Georgia wedding, and I for one am absolutely smitten by the romantic winery ambiance. Who knew the Peach State was home to such amazing vineyard affairs? You’ve been holding out on us, Georgia brides! This couple complemented the spectacular natural elements of Montaluce, the venue, with deep purple accents, including bridesmaid dresses from our favorite, Coren Moore. The effect was classic, beautiful, and inspiring. Even more inspiration on Laura’s blog!

Nick and I met at work, a very unromantic spot, as we are both accountants. However, we made a good team and the team turned into a friendship, and the friendship turned into a marriage, eventually. Personally, I thought of our relationship as a honeymoon – I had never met anyone quite like Nick before nor been with anyone whom I cared so much for. When he finally proposed, it felt surreal, almost like a fairytale. It was, at that point, the happiest day of my life!

That led me down the path of planning my fairytale wedding. With purple being my favorite color, I set to work to incorporate deep aubergine wherever I could in order to still keep that stark contrast with lighter colors. I had simply fallen in love with the serene settings of the north Georgia mountains as well as some of the beautiful local wineries. Nick and I loved the idea of lots of wine, we loved the idea of a mini-destination wedding, and we loved the absolutely gorgeous grounds and scrumptious fare at Montaluce.

With our beautiful venue selected and the ceremony to be held amidst the gorgeous vineyards, I couldn’t imagine a more “fairytale” touch then a horse drawn carriage, which quite possibly was my favorite part of the day. Riding off into the sunset with my new husband after the ceremony left me feeling dreamy.

The most memorable moment of the day was during the actual ceremony after Nick’s wonderful father walked me down the aisle and paired me with his son. I remember clasping hands with Nick as we set into prayer and there was an intense feeling of connectedness – as if our hands were forming a bond never to be broken. There was so much emotion in this simple act of holding someone’s hand; it was absolutely amazing and my favorite memory!

Such incredible memories could not have been made without the fabulous wedding coordinator at Montaluce, Elizabeth Buck, who really became a key resource for us. I’d also say that Laura Stone of Artstar Photography so magically allowed me to capture all of these special memories for a lifetime of viewing. She has an incomprehensible talent.

Colorful Savannah Wedding from Donna Von Bruening Photographers

Oh my goodness. This wedding is colorful. It is beautiful. It is ah-maze-ing. I’ll try to keep my swooning to a minimum so that you can fall as hard for it as we did. The stunning couple wanted something bright and colorful, smack dab in the middle of sweet, old Savannah. A challenge, yes. But these images from one of our favorites, Donna Von Bruening Photographers, are proof that they TOTALLY knocked the socks off Savannah. It’s very possible that the city is still just a little more cheerful after this one. Hop over to Donna’s blog for more of this fab couple – but first… enjoy.

There’s much, much more in the gallery!

Tene and David were married in Savannah at the Mansion on Forsyth Park. The normally serene, white tented courtyard was infused with bold, bright colors for this chic affair. Using fushia, yellow and turquoise as the primary “splashes of color,” the courtyard was transformed into Tene and David’s colorful circle of love. Utilizing the fabulous chandelier as the epi-center, Amy Harvey and her staff at Harvey Designs enhanced the chandelier with a flair for the dramatic and endless color.

The day was finely documented by Donna Von Bruening Photographers and coordinated perfectly by Wedding Soiree. The groom, a graduate of Savannah State University, was extremely proud to have his family and friends visit Savannah to witness his wedding. He exhibited his excitement by performing a special step show during the reception accompanied by his fraternity brithers from Kappa Alpha Psi. His performance was the highlight of the evening, followed closely by delicious treats by Kerry O’Connor Cake Design. Desiring not to have the traditional wedding cake, Tene and David chose gem-adorned red velvet, chocolate, and banana cupcakes to send their guests off  with a sweet good night.
