Atlanta Wedding at Rhodes Hall by Carla Gates Photography

I don’t know about you, but whenever I see a wedding with this much southern charm, I wish I was a belle myself. Luckily, we can all live vicariously through the lens of Carla Gates Photography who caught every.single.detail from this rustic Atlanta celebration! The custom lemonade stand, chalkboard signage and bow-tie clad gents captured my heart…and you’ll be smitten too when you peek through the full gallery!

From Carla Gates PhotographyIt was such an honor to not only get to capture, but to be a part of Laurie and Caleb’s magical wedding day! They have such a gentle sweetness between them and such a warm surrounding of family and friends whose love absolutely permeated the air all around. Laurie, as well as the many wonderful vendors involved, worked so hard to dream up and produce all of the beautiful details that came so wonderfully together to create the perfect Southern Soiree they had been dreaming of! It was an evening to remember and I can’t say enough how grateful I was to get to work alongside such talented, wonderful people!

From the Bride… It all started with a walk on the beach among some of our closest friends. We had just met, and as we walked, Caleb told me his life story; the conversation was so real. Being the quieter one who loves to listen, I only got a few words in but enjoyed our time so much. Over time, we became good friends and continued to grow that friendship until a year later on a fateful night after a kickball party when Caleb asked me on a date. I said, “Yes,” and it wasn’t long before we realized that what we had was extraordinary! Ten months later he proposed, and I couldn’t have been more elated to marry the man of my dreams! Having both grown up in Georgia, there was no question that it would be a southern affair. We began by taking inspiration for the feel of the day from one of my all time favorite cities, Charleston, South Carolina. Fried chicken, mac-n-cheese, collard greens and biscuits were a must and absolutely had to be accompanied by none other than some good ol’ southern sweet tea. Additionally, we wanted to have a church that reflected Christ, a choir that echoed His presence, and a band to play fantastic music as we danced the night away! We felt so fortunate to have found Mao Tao of Four Inch Fold, who has become a dear friend in helping to bring our vision to life! Farm tables, old books and lanterns dangling from the trees combined with the dreamy, old-world feel of Rhodes Hall was truly incredible. I have to admit though, my absolutely most favorite moment of the day was having a gospel choir lead us and the bridal party from the church to Rhodes Hall singing “Oh Happy Day!” The guests were enjoying their pimento sandwiches and sweet tea on the lawn at Rhodes Hall as the choir, with us close behind, rounded the corner of Peachtree Street, carrying such beautiful melodies as we made our entrance as husband and wife! I will forever cherish March 31, 2012, as such a sweet celebration of the amazing union God has given us!

Marietta Wedding at Brumby Hall & Gardens by Angela Wilson Photography

A glam garden wedding is tops on many a bride’s wish list, and Brumby Hall & Gardens fits the venue bill. But who even needs a dream venue when you have DIY expert parents to personalize your entire day? This lucky bride had all of the above plus a charming yellow jacket emblem throughout (a nod to her and the groom’s Alma Mater) and a chandelier topped Sugarplum Visions cake. See the sweet outdoor ceremony and homemade homages shot by Angela Wilson Photography here in the full gallery!

From Angela Wilson PhotographyLindsay and Matt make an adorable couple. They met going to school at Georgia Tech, where Matt was a basketball player. They used the mascot symbol of a yellow jacket throughout their wedding to personalize their details. The symbol is used on their invitations (on a wax stamp emblem), the bride’s purse, ceremony programs and even on the sparkler tags. Lindsay’s parents were an integral part of creating all the southern-style garden ceremony and reception details. Her father hand-built the pulpit, kneeling bench and front row pews for the outdoor ceremony. Her mother did everything from making the personalized entry chalkboards with rhinestone embellishments to hand-dipped white chocolate pretzels with sprinkles to create “love knots” for guest to take home. The flowers and cake were over the top as well. There were 10 layers to the cake made into four smaller cakes uplifted on a pedestal table with a chandelier on the top! The florist had every single detail covered in petals, from the brides hair to the aisle of rose petals during the ceremony and even the flowers draped down from the altar. The reception had flowers on every table with varying shapes and sizes and an oversized arrangement by buffet.

Picnic Engagement Session by Simply Savannah Events + Taken Photography

It was love at first sight, not just for the couple but for myself, upon first seeing this lovely engagement session by Taken Photography. The adorable picnic-themed shoot planned by Simply Savannah Events incorporates spirited colors of red and Coca-Cola along with yummy snacks by Delectable Designs. It’s an engagement session that will leave you with a sweet tooth for wide open spaces and a smile. Be sure to take in every inch of cuteness by visiting the full gallery here.

From Alicja of Taken PhotographyWhen I met Brittany and Chris, what struck me was that they were lighthearted and fun. “We like to laugh and pick on each other,” I remember Brittany saying. I had an idea in mind, but as great as I am at directing poses and getting the shot, I knew I needed help to bring the idea to life. Enter stylist hero Layla, who has an insane eye for details and styling. Without further ramblings, thanks for sharing in our joy in presenting Brittany and Chris’s engagement session.

From Layla of Simply Savannah Events Their theme was centered around Coca-Cola because Chris is a huge fan, so all the red details helped balance the old-fashioned glass soda bottles. The canopy, wooden crates, paper tissue poms, scrabble pieces, bubble gum, rock candy, cupcakes (made by Delectable Designs), vintage double wedding ring quilt, linens, paper straws, recycled glass jars vases, mason jars, cake stand, and basket all added to their adorable picnic-themed session. The flowers were mostly summery colors with some red roses to complement the red from Coca-Cola.

Atlanta Wedding at The Biltmore Ballrooms by Christopher Confero Design

If ever there was a pretty pink and sophisticated wedding, this my friends, is it! I’m seriously drooling over all the gorgeous goodness from the pretty mercury glass centerpieces to the monogrammed ghost chairs, (hello fabulous!) to the cute as can be favors, this wedding is a girl’s dream come true! Christopher Confero Design seriously outdid himself and lucky for us, Arden Photography captured it all perfectly. Click here for even more!

Don’t miss this gorgeous film by Holloway Productions!

From Christopher Confero DesignThis wedding was so meaningful to both the bride and me. We were best friends all through college and had been planning this event long before the groom came along! She went to Auburn, and he played football at UGA. (His boutonniere had trimmings from the hedges around the stadium!)

The day featured a flawless color scheme of pink and pewter with acrylic accents. We had their custom monogram utilized everywhere — a floor decal; monogrammed, hemstitched, linen napkins; all of the stationery; the ghost chairs and the favors. It was a wonderful piece of art that tied everything together.

Fabulous food and cake came from Soiree and Sweet Sensations. We passed late-night snacks at the end of the night — the sliders were the biggest hit! It was a wonderful night!

Savannah Wedding in Whitefield Square by First City Events

Get ready to meet the perfect blend of southern hospitality and upscale elegance by First City Events. Combined with effortless floral arrangements by A to Zinnias and the nostalgia of Whitefield Square, this wedding is one for the record books! Not only is the picturesque landscape alluring, but so are the images by Memories n More. Don’t worry, there are plenty more to see in the full gallery of images!

From First City EventsKim put her complete faith in us by allowing us to plan her pretty in pink wedding from afar, using pictures, emails, phone calls and story boards to describe her perfect day. It wasn’t until the week of the wedding that Kim saw her ceremony and reception sites for the first time. Thank goodness it was love at first sight! Kim went with a beautiful mix of pinks for her flowers and decor. Custom stationery was put on everything from water bottles at the park to place cards. Custom signs let guests know what was on the bar menu and the sweet cake flavors. The bridal cake featured alternating layers of red velvet with cream cheese icing and white chocolate cake with butter cream icing; while the groom’s cake was all chocolate. After a lovely day and an fun night, the two left for their happily ever after in a classic car.

200 Peachtree Wedding by The Studio B Photography

When a celebration calls for color, opulence and tradition, Envi Event Planning delivers and this 200 Peachtree wedding is a big eye full of proof. This lucky bride wears two beautiful bright gowns, and Weddings InStyle made sure the classic white florals complemented the super tall ceremony space and the breathtaking views at the Ventanas reception. The Studio B Photography shot all the cultural creme de la creme, including the white horse drawn carriage (he is wearing  quite the getup, too), and we have the Three Ring Weddings video so you won’t miss a second! See all the best shots here in the full gallery!

From The Studio B PhotographyRich with tradition and beautiful colors, Indian weddings are a feast for the eyes. Friends and family traveled from all over the world to celebrate Chetana and Alkesh’s marriage, and they all made the most of their time together. The events lasted for three days, and began with Chetana’s mehndi, which involves painting intricate designs on the bride’s arms and legs with henna. This sweet couple chose 200 Peachtree as the site for their wedding ceremony, a venue that was perfect for the 400+ guests in attendance. The modern and elegant mandap was fantastic! As Alkesh made his way down the street for the baraat, more than a few onlookers stopped to watch all of the fun. The celebration was so captivating that even those who weren’t invited couldn’t help but stare with amazement. Later that evening, the reception began at Ventanas, a gorgeous space with a wraparound view of the city and a helipad. The chic purple and blue tones of the room complemented the beautiful Atlanta skyline that was easily visible through the huge windows. The reception was a bit smaller of a crowd than the ceremony had been, and the entire evening was a blast! From the dance number Alkesh and his groomsmen surprised Chetana with to the stunning view of Atlanta lit up at night, the celebration was elegant and entertaining!

From the bride…By nature I am a planner. I love to plan events whether it be a wedding, a baby shower, bridal shower, birthday party, etc. I love all the little details that go into creating such memorable events. But things were a little different this time. This was now MY wedding. I had to make all the decisions this time, which I don’t like to do. The planning became somewhat stressful at times but thankfully I had a fiance who took on many projects and was willing to help in anyway he could, as well as a mom who worked alongside of me for 12 months as we planned every last detail. I have so many wonderful memories of my mom and I throughout the course of the planning. We did lots of DIY projects together and enjoyed lots of laughter along the way. My two Aunts in Florida also played a huge part in the planning. The day of the wedding came and they were both there ready to set up and delegate tasks. What made the day even more special was that my entire extended family, who drove up from Florida the night before, were all there the morning of as well. I had no idea they were all going to come and help. Everything was set up and in place within an hour. It was incredible! I love my family very much and to have them all there helping was just so special.

A few weeks prior to the wedding I was so ready for it all to be over. After a year of planning I just wanted to be married. The wedding day came though and I was so relaxed and full of excitement. We had been planning for so long that everything was organized and everyone knew what their job was and where they needed to be when. There wasn’t a single thing to worry about. Man, did we have a blast! At the end of the night I was ready to do it all over again. Looking back on everything I can honestly say that I wouldn’t change a thing. All of our hard work definitely paid off and everyone had a wonderful time. I would marry my hubby all over again in a heartbeat!

Augusta Wedding by Kaitie Bryant Photography

I don’t believe this darling soiree captured by Kaitie Bryant Photography could get more charming if it tried. Actually, I know it couldn’t. Of course it’s pretty as can be with its library venue and pretty maids and sweet bouquets – but it’s full of heart too. And that’s what really gets me. Everyone chipped in to make sure it was the prettiest day possible for these two lovebirds, and I do believe they succeeded and then some. See it all here!

From the Kaitie Bryant Photography…The bride and groom were on a tight budget but the bride (Elisa) was determined to pull off a beautiful day! Friends in the church and workplace offered all sorts of help for their wedding day, including a friend making their wedding cake, another friend giving them wooden benches made from pallets for their ceremony, their church letting them use their downtown location as a reception venue, and engagement portraits taken by another photographer friend.  Elisa really wanted a pretty location for the ceremony and they had been to concerts on the lawn at a local library, so they decided to just ask the librarian if anyone ever used it for a wedding ceremony.  No one had in the past but they were open to renting out the lawn for a wedding… so Elisa and Nathan had the inaugural wedding at the Appleby library.  The ceremony was so beautiful, from the flowers and mason jars and wooden benches to the different dresses each bridesmaid wore.  The groomsmen had suspenders and brown pants, not even the same brand but just the same color.  It was so neat to see how it all came together so beautifully and to watch Elisa in tears thank those around her who made it possible.  And the two of them just adore each other.  I love love!

DIY Backyard Wedding by Claudia McDade Photography

There is DIY, and then there is an entirely new level of DIY. Crafting that puts our dear Martha to shame. Let’s call it extreme DIYing. This, my loves, is extreme DIYing. It’s crafting with style and in a way that makes our jaws drop. It’s shear talent, and if it weren’t for the pretty images of Claudia McDade Photography I wouldn’t believe it could be possible – oh but its, and you can see every last ah-mazing detail of this oh so fabulous backyard wedding right here!

From the Bride…Daniel and I are extremely blessed to have been able to have our wedding on his father’s property in White, Georgia.  Daniel grew up there, and along with his sister and other family and friends, wanted to get married there. We had a goal from the start to stay within a budget..and when I say budget–I mean budget.  You would think that we would have to cut a lot of corners, but we honestly just resorted to pretty much making everything ourselves. With collections of wine bottles from family and friends to gathering scrap wood in the country, we were set.  Painted wine bottles with paper roses and burlap adorned the tables; homemade signs crafted on reclaimed wood gave directions and welcomed our guests.  Children enjoyed the candy bar, while adults played corn hole on our homemade Bride and Groom Corn Hole Boards.  We really just wanted the wedding to be simple, sweet, and enjoyable.

We are both pretty crafty.  I majored in art, while Daniel is just naturally talented!!  Anything I could think of…he would build or make or hang for me.  With the help of all of our family and friends, we made it exactly what we had pictured.  My mother made our wedding cake using my great grandmother’s cake recipe–a pound cake recipe that we have all enjoyed for years.  My sister made the flower girls’ skirts,  and A LOT of family made homemade dishes for the dinner!   One of my best friends and her husband sang Miranda Lambert’s Oklahoma Sky, changing the words to Georgia Sky.  Daniel and I consider ourselves extremely fortunate to have had what we believe to be the perfect Georgia wedding.

Jordy and Stevie were the most adorable couple! They both looked incredibly stunning on their big day! Their gorgeous outdoor wedding took place at the stunning plantation house and stables of Vinewood Weddings and Events located in Newnan, Georgia. The ceremony was right outside surrounded by ancient oak and pecan trees. The ceremony was perfect and included a lovely sand unity. After the ceremony, guests entered the beautiful, rustic stables for cocktails, dinner and dancing! The stables were lit by chandeliers and consisted of several vintage wooden chairs and farmhouse style tables for dining. Decor consisted of burlap, mason jars and wihte hydrangeas. Atlanta Engagement Session by Peach Blossom Photography

Get ready for some serious engagement session cuteness. The kind that (even if you’re already married) makes you want to grab you sweetheart and strike a pose or  two. Complete with a kissing booth, Coca Cola and one adorable duo – It’s sweet southern goodness in photo form captured perfectly by Peach Blossom Photography, and you can see even more right here!

From Peach Blossom Photography…Atlanta is known for Coca-cola, the Georgia Bulldogs, and Falcons so the color scheme was easy – red & white! Here in Georgia, we also love the outdoors, running barefoot and our little sundresses. The inspiration for this shoot was to take the vintage concept of carnival kissing booths and old coke bottles and recreate them with a bit of whimsy in one of my favorite fields. We started with straight letters on the booth but a gust of wind knocked the letters crooked and I thought it just really added character. The lighting was perfect and the couple was so natural. Very little posing or direction was given. Samantha was the one who took her shoes off and hopped up on the picnic table. Jared with his five o’clock shadow, button down with the rolled sleeves, and big smile just screams southern boy. The whole session took less than 45 minutes to shoot because they made it so easy – laughing and having a great time!  I created the banner with a little bit of twine, spray paint, and card board hearts I bought at hobby lobby. I also bought the fun straws at Hobby Lobby. The couple took home an empty coke bottle to put on the shelf to remember the session! I can’t wait for their September wedding!

From Tessa Marie PhotographyA super sweet couple getting married who were joined by their 20 closest friends and hundreds of acres of land to explore and use in their pictures — that’s exactly what I had at this wedding. Chris was the best man in a wedding Mandy was also the maid of honor at — she didn’t stand a chance. From the minute Chris saw her, he was hooked — lucky for them he’d get to spend time with her as they shared the duties of supporting the bride and groom that weekend (her sister and his best friend). Before the weekend was over, Chris had found a way to lend his car like a kind friend would do for the new couple for their journey home and volunteered himself to ride back with Mandy. The road trip home was just long enough for him to prove himself and share all the credentials of why she should date him (or something like that). True story!

From the Bride-to-Be… The way we met is actually pretty funny — we were working for competing companies! We both started in the pharmaceutical industry around the same time, and not only sold competing products but also shared all the same offices! And so the playfully competitive banter began. :) As we occasionally ran into each other, we would joke about who would to win our “friendly” competition and talk for as long as we could. I was always so excited to see him … and he gave me such a giddy, butterflies-in-your-stomach feeling that to his day has never gone away. We were friends for a long time before the fateful day when he asked me out to lunch, and as they say, the rest was history. We started dating soon after (and luckily no longer sold competing products), and I knew I had found the person God meant for me to spend my life with. On September 22, 2012, I am marrying my best friend and love of my life!

Savannah Golf Club Wedding by Nate Henderson Photography

If a traditional southern soiree tickles your fancy, consider these Nate Henderson Photography photos your fix for today. Charming church ceremony? Check. Springy Harvey Designs florals? Wait till you see the sweet touch hanging from the door below. What is it about Savannah that makes it so striking from every angle? Perhaps its the fact that no matter where the camera points, historic architecture and lush greenery stretch as far as the eye and or lens can see. The sun shining through Spanish moss dripping from tree branches at this Savannah Golf Club reception definitely doesn’t hurt the case for the 360 degree views. See it all plus this couple’s excellent exit in the full gallery!

From Nate Henderson PhotographyLauren and Greg were married on a beautiful spring day in the heart of downtown Savannah at Trinity United Methodist Church. Their traditional ceremony was followed with portraits near Telfair Square, then everyone headed to the Savannah Golf Club for the reception. From Something Pretty PhotographyThis was a wonderfully simple wedding that was a perfect afternoon affair! It took place at the Botanical Gardens here in Atlanta, Georgia, and it could not have been a more perfect day. Their colors were yellow and gray, and the flowers were STUNNING — made by the amazing Le Bonne Fleur. The reception was inside a beautiful house on the grounds, and everything was just simple and elegant, from the dress to to table setting. Breakfast at Tiffany’s Inspired Engagement Session by Kate Belle

I can’t believe I’m actually admitting this to all of you but here goes: I’ve never seen Breakfast at Tiffany’s! I know, I know, I’m a terrible person but I have this thing with the TV that as soon as it comes on, I totally fall asleep. But I’m wide eyed and bushy tailed over this e-session that was inspired by that classic film. Kate Belle did such an amazing job capturing this adorable couple and their sense of style that I think I have to go Netflix the movie now. See the rest right here!

From Kate BelleThis engagement shoot took place on a rainy Sunday afternoon in Atlanta. When I first met Aubrey and Jonathan, I was struck by their classic style, so when we decided on the Biltmore Hotel as the venue for their engagement session (also where their wedding will be in October), my mind naturally gravitated to another Aubrey — Aubrey Hepburn — and from there, to Breakfast at Tiffany’s. The light, the rain, their clothes (right down to the trench coat), the iconic Biltmore Hotel, and of course, Aubrey and Jonathan’s chemistry and style really all came together on the day to make this shoot something magic.

Savannah Wedding at The Jepson Center by First City Events

It’s hard to imagine that this lovely Savannah ceremony was supposed to be held anywhere but The Jepson Center.  The beautiful details would have, no doubt, looked stunning in any setting but the pops of purple and green really look amazing in the modern space.  The gorgeous details overflowed into the reception creating an elegant, contemporary vibe that has me obsessed!  See everything, planned by First City Events, in the full gallery!

From First City EventsThe couple planned to be wed in Telfair Square. Luckily, they decided to move the ceremony inside because we had a late afternoon storm just before the wedding. Roxy & Travis stayed cool and  everything turned out perfect. The Jepson Center was beautiful with Roxy’s green and purple accents i.e. the ceremony arrangements that were vases filled with real apples, blooming branches and  white and purple hydrangeas. During cocktail hour, guests enjoyed the museum including an art exhibit, which featured L.E.D. light art work. They then headed back down to the atrium where the room was transformed with purple linens and tall centerpieces that coordinated with the ceremony pieces. Guests enjoyed an array of food stations while mingling and dancing. Roxy & Travis ended their night with a bubble exit and headed for their “happily ever after.” Best wishes!

Rockmart Wedding Film at Spring Lake by Artworks Wedding Cinema

I’ve never been able to really put my finger on exactly why, but wedding cinematography moves me to the core. Perhaps it’s the music, a soundtrack of sorts for two people so in love. Or maybe it’s actually seeing the couple go through each moment of such an important day in their life. Whatever it may be, Artworks Wedding Cinema knows exactly how to pull at my wedding film-loving heart strings – so trust me when I say the next five minutes should be spent swooning over this pretty piece!

From Artworks Wedding Cinema… This beautiful wedding took place at a new venue just a bit north of Atlanta called Spring Lake. Acres and acres of space at this rustic venue allows for all kinds of gorgeousness, and Amy and Grant did not disappoint in that area! With many, handmade rustic details, their wedding was simply beautiful. I loved the bright surprise of hot pink that was sprinkled throughout the decor. The venue has a really pretty lakeside ceremony area complete with outdoor pews — however the rain forced the ceremony to be moved under the covered pavilion area. Despite the rain that carried throughout the rest of the evening, Amy and Grant were two of the happiest people I’ve seen.

Monroe Wedding at The Cotton Warehouse by Tessa Marie Wedding Photography

The Cotton Warehouse provides effortless rich rustic charm for miles, and that’s before the place was warmed up with candles and DIY’ed personal touches by the bride and groom. Tessa Marie Wedding Photography misses not a single moment from this super smiley crafty couple’s day. Pretty pink florals by Gardenia Floral design and soft sheer drapery are the girly oh-so-right aesthetic antithesis to the industrial raw space. Antique books about the bride and groom’s favorite subjects top the tables, and speaking of tops, you can’t miss the too-cute cake topper made by the lady in white herself. Get ready to smile along with them while you peruse the full gallery!

From the Bride… Kevin and I met in middle school and were quick to discover we were polar opposites in many areas. We continued through high school together and began to appreciate each other’s idiosyncrasies and developed an incredible friendship. After graduation Kevin and I took different paths, including him moving to a different state. In February 2008, after years of maintaining a connection, we both realized that we stumbled upon something that was more than friendship — these opposites were attracting! After a year or so of long-distance dating, Kevin moved back to his home state of Georgia, where we continued dating until he proposed!

During wedding planning, we realized we had different ideas as to what type of venue we wanted. After visits to several locations, we went to the Cotton Warehouse and instantly agreed. This was the place. With its innate rustic charm, we were able to easily create decor that would tie everything together. I am big into DIY and personalization, so the Cotton Warehouse was also perfect to reflect the little details that made the day so special (with some help, we stamped and tied all the programs, the favor bags, and even the cake topper!). We also tried to gather books for the centerpieces that reflected our interests. For him, history and presidents, and for me, science and theater. It ended up being the perfect choice of décor because Kevin and I both enjoy visiting antique shops!
