Four Seasons Atlanta Wedding by Harwell Photography + Table 6 Productions

Harwell Photography never fails to bring some of the most fabulous southern fêtes our way, and they teamed up with the talented Table 6 Productions for this little Georgia number to produce traditional elegance at its finest. It has all the elegant elements that will stand the test of time, and a bright red lipstick-wearing bride to top it all off. How perfect does she look? The entire affair is just as perfect, and you can see it all in the full gallery of images!

From the Bride…Bryan and I met in one of the most beautiful places, and in one of the most unconventional ways- on a safari in Cape Town, South Africa. Amanda was serving with a nonprofit in Cape Town via the University of Georgia in the summer of 2009. As it turns out, the founders of this nonprofit are college friends of Bryan’s, and thus invited him to join our group for a safari to Kruger National Park.  Little did we know that while serendipitously sitting next to each other on the safari cart we would be captivated by each other during that first game ride, and inseparable until we left Cape Town. People say that because of our individual passion for travel, it’s no surprise that we had to go half way across the world to meet each other.

The inspiration for the wedding was vintage 1940’s, with a focus on rich colors. With blueberry and deep reds in flowers, dining decor and abundant candle-light, this black-tie affair transformed the Four Season’s Atlanta into a classy and intimate environment.

From Table 6 ProductionsWe really wanted to give her wedding the feeling that guests had stepped back into the 40’s but at the same time since the couple is from New York we wanted there to be very chic elements that reflected their modern lifestyle in New York. When Amanda was shopping for a dress she had a set idea in her mind before even trying a dress on.  From a young age Amanda loved The Sound of Music  Since being a little girl Amanda imagined herself in a wedding dress similar to Julie Andrews in Sound of Music.

Atlanta Wedding Film by Anna and Spencer Photography

I have to confess that when I first viewed this magnificent film by Anna and Spencer Photography I got a wee bit chocked up.  The moments that were chosen, the music, the sweet bride and groom and their vows all create a heart-wrenching, touching and lovely glimpse into what must have been a phenomenal wedding.  I dare you to finish the whole video without getting a little misty-eyed.

From Anna and Spencer Photography… Devin and Fayoce’s wedding was a wedding full of meaning and emotion.  We absolutely loved their personal vows to each other, and the time  they spent with their friends and family on the day. The wedding took  place in downtown Atlanta at the Druid Hills Baptist Church and then  the reception was at Ventanas downtown. Personally, we just love the  emotion of the day.

Atlanta Cinematic Wedding Trailer from Three Ring Media

If you haven’t had the joy of experiencing one of Three Ring Media‘s cinematic wedding trailers yet, you picked a good one to start with. I don’t know if its the adorable and obvious love between the couple, or the fantastic decor of the beautiful downtown Atlanta venue, or the fact that the bride is beyond gorgeous, but whatever it is, this wedding is totally making my Saturday. Ian and Fanta’s Cinematic Trailer from Three Ring Media on Vimeo.

Fanta and Ian met during their sophomore year at Spelman College and Morehouse College, respectively, at a weekly block party on Spelman College’s campus.  Although Fanta was in a relationship at the time, the two took note of one another during that first meeting.  Due to mutual friends, the two of them began to run into one another at various social gatherings and events and a friendship ensued.  During their senior year, when they returned to their campuses after summer break, they realized that they were ready to be more than just friends and soon began a romantic relationship.

After disguising a vacation to Napa Valley as a joint 30th birthday trip, Ian took Fanta on a surprise private tour of several vineyards.  At the last stop on their tour, atop Springer Mountain which overlooked the valley, Ian gave Fanta a gift he made especially for her – a personal rendition of the popular “Five Love Languages” book, which she had been urging him to read.  His book included five separate pages of events, activities and snippets of intimate phrases they had shared throughout their relationship that exemplied each of the five love languages- Acts of Service, Physical Touch, Words of Affirmation, Quality Time, and Gifts. Fanta read through each page and when she got to the the last love language, “Gifts”, Ian presented her with a wonderful gift- a proposal to spend the rest of their lives together.

When they got back from Napa, they started the planning process and the first item on the list was to pick a venue.  Fanta walked into The Grand Atrium at 200 Peachtree and was immediately taken by the chandeliers. She loved that it was an elegant and lofty space, while still remaining understated. The Grand Atrium at 200 Peachtree captured perfectly the ambiance of urban sophistication. For the wedding, the venue was beautifully decorated in coral, gold and champagne accents. As a personal touch, there were excerpts from various letters Fanta and Ian wrote one another over the years displayed during the cocktail hour, a subtle nod to the fact that much of their relationship after college had been spent in separate cities.

Whimsical Wedding by Three Ring Media

Oh if this isn’t the sweetest video of the cutest couple then I don’t know what is! You can really feel the love between these two on both their wedding day and in their “behind the scenes” moments with the camera. Lots of love to Three Ring Media for sharing this film with us. We love it!

From the Bride…In the summer of 2009, we went to see the Disney/Pixar film Up; Dave was instantly inspired. He called my family to inquire about an heirloom aquamarine that I had mentioned to him, but refused to divulge his proposal plans. Once he acquired the family stone, he met with a jeweler to create a custom setting. Then, he called a local hot air balloon company. Flying in a hot air balloon was a bucket list item of mine. Once I learned that Dave had planned a ballooning outing for us, I was too excited to even begin to question what he was up to! When our balloon approached Lake Lanier, a beautiful area north of Atlanta, Dave awkwardly positioned himself on one knee in the little balloon basket. My face lit up when I saw the aquamarine that I’d had my heart set on since I was a little girl. I flung my arms around him and said yes. We were greeted on the ground with champagne.

The vintage and whimsical nature of our proposal inspired the style of our wedding. We chose an antebellum home as our wedding venue and incorporated many “Old South” details into our decor, right down to the fresh cotton blooms in the bouquets. I went for a very vintage look with a lace trumpet gown with a puddle train, complete with birdcage veil. We incorporated a subtle balloon motif throughout our DIY stationary suite to convey the whimsy of our proposal. In fact, our Save the Dates were actual balloons with our wedding date printed on them!

These meaningful quirks our loved ones brought to our wedding day are our greatest memories. Our guests got creative with our “fauxtobooth” props, released the inner child upon raiding the candy buffet, and broke out some never-before-seen salsa dancing skills on the dance floor! Dave and I could not stop beaming throughout the entire day; it was incredible to share such an incredible day with each other and with so many people we love!

The Pink Palace Wedding by Melissa Schollaert Photography + TOAST Events

Garden party glam might be a new favorite wedding theme of mine, and this alfresco Atlanta affair by TOAST Events is a fabulous example why. With fluffy florals around every turn (including in the pool), pretty pink maids lined up in a row, and a full gospel choir to serenade guests – it’s pretty easy to see why I am ga ga over this garden soiree. And you can see even more reasons why my heart is all a flutter in the full gallery of images thanks to Melissa Schollaert!

From the Bride…We met on Memorial Day in 2007.  I was having a cookout for my daughters and there were several other mothers who also joined the party.  They were friends with Paul and called and asked him to join them,  they had been trying to get together for several weeks.  He arrived, stayed for dinner and then stayed a little longer after they left.

As we became acquainted with one another, we discovered that there were many things that we had in common.  Both of us married for 21 years, both had only girls and our children were our priority.  I am from North Carolina,  which is where he immigrated to from South Africa, and finally, his aunt in Johannesburg founded the company that Avon acquired and I knew her from some of our international conferences.

After that, we never spent a weekend apart and our entire families were overjoyed when we decided to tie the knot.  Paul planned the perfect proposal in San Marco square in Venice last June.

We wanted an intimate wedding that felt like a house party so we commissioned the Pink Palace, an estate in buckhead that provided the perfect backdrop. Our biggest focus was on the ceremony that included two vocalists, a full gospel choir, a violinist, a pianist and their 5 daughters as attendants.  The reception was held in the pool courtyard, with outdoor tables topped with blush linens and floral sprays and candles.  Guests were treated to multiple food stations inside the  opulent mansion, featuring a Mediterranean food station and a traditional Southern food station featuring fried green tomatoes and other Southern cuisine.  The night was capped off with dancing under the stars, followed by a bagpiper serenade from the rooftop that sent the couple off on their honeymoon.

Mason Murer Art Gallery Wedding from Artstar by Laura Stone

The neutral color palette of this Atlanta art gallery totally hits the spot today. It’s classic and beautiful and it lets the happy couple shine through their big day together. You can completely tell from the images Artstar by Laura Stone sent our way that the day was so special. It’s so great to see a traditional wedding with a twist, centered around the most important aspects of the day – the couple, the love they share for each other, and the love they have for a few of their favorite things (Krispy Kream doughnuts, anyone?). I’ve fallen head over heels for this timeless affair, and I am positive you will love it too. Click here for more of this chic couple over at Artstar’s blog!

Ken and  I met through a coworker of mine who was dating a coworker of his (they are now happily married). My coworker had been trying to set us up for a year but we were both dating other people. We both ended our relationships in May and we met on a blind date on July 7th. As soon as I saw him walk across the set of windows at the restaurant, I knew this could be something good!

After nearly four months of dating, Ken proposed to me at my parents’ mountain home in Cashiers, NC. Ken is a Georgia Bulldog and I’m a Florida Gator so naturally we were engaged on the Florida vs. Georgia game day! Ken had a bag of game day goodies and stopped me at a bench by the pond on the way to breakfast at the house.  He said we was worried some of his game swag might be over the top, especially in front of my parents, and wanted me to take a peek at the silly items he had bought. The first thing was a fortune cookie that I opened and said “Go Dawgs!” He apologized, saying he gave me the wrong one. As I opened the next fortune cookie, he got down on his knee – I thought it was to keep rummaging through the bag…but then the fortune read “I love you Jadideah. Will you Marry Me?”

I had been to multiple charity cocktail events at Mason Murer Art Gallery and they were able to completely redesign the gallery to cater to each event. Every party was amazing and so much fun. I loved the spaces and how uniquely the art complemented the social atmosphere. Ken and I went to a charity event that had multiple food tastings from popular Atlanta restaurants. I remember sitting with him at a small table and thinking how great would it be to have a wedding reception here!  I asked him what he thought of this place and he loved it.

The inspiration for the wedding was from a line I had written somebody about what I was looking for in a man – “I want a champagne-drinking, caviar-eating man with style, class and taste, who can also drink beer out of a can wearing shorts and flip flops while watching football at a barbeque.” So my theme was a black tie event with champagne and fine wines, tenderloin and an antipasti table combined with chili dogs, chili burgers, fries and onion rings from Atlanta’s famous Drive-In, The Varsity and Burritos from Moe’s.  A surprise visit around 10:30pm with hot doughnuts from Krispy Kreme, milk shakes and sliders.

The colors were all about me. I don’t like much color so white, cream and beige were pretty much it. Perfect in a white art gallery! The color was in the artwork. It was fabulous!

My most vivid memory was of course the actual ceremony and being so excited to be married to this man. But the next one was Ken on stage playing guitar and singing with the band. So amazing!

Madison Oaks Inn and Gardens Wedding by Kaylan Photography

Another day on Style Me Pretty Georgia means another lovely wedding for me to love.  And, oh, what a wedding it is.  These Madison nuptials by Kaylan Photography have me completely giddy from all of the gorgeousness.  It’s true, I’ve literally been swooning over every amazing detail for hours now.  From the stunning floral design by Renee Souther to those oh-so-charming “Mr.” and “Mrs.” signs, I am one enamored blogger.  And I wouldn’t dare forget to mention the cheesecake bar.  Yes.  Please.  I’ll be in the gallery getting my pretty on.  Join me there!

From Kaylan Photography Ashley and Sam’s wedding was truly amazing. The details that Ashley put into each part of the wedding made it personal and unique, defiantly a wedding no one will forget. Ashley and her bridesmaid arrived at the James Madison Spa off the beautiful square in Madison, Georgia. They all enjoyed mimosas, had their hair done by the amazing Casey Wilbanks and laughed the whole morning. The guys were able to have some fun playing football and relaxing before heading over to the venue too. As both parties arrived at the venue Sam and Ashley decided to see each other before the ceremony. The both were in “ah” of each other which was an amazing moment to be a part of while photographing their “first sight”.

Ashley and Sam’s ceremony was one the sweetest ceremony’s I have ever seen. These two wrote their own vows which made for an emotional and personal experience for them as well as their guests. I was even crying behind the camera! It was beautiful. As the guests proceeded for the cocktail hour Ashley and Sam joined them. The guests all were amazed by the beautiful decor that Ashley and Hallie Jane put into the wedding. Lanterns which were inspired by her engagement shoot were hung all around the venue, burlap and a rustic feel was presented throughout the wedding & a cigar bar that was huge hit. After a delicious meal the couple cut into probably the BEST cheesecake ever created and the band then had the all the guests dancing. One of the best bands in Atlanta I’d have to say! Sam and Ashley had just as fun as their guests on their wedding day – it was honestly one of the best weddings put together by some amazing people.

Park Tavern Wedding by carolynA events

Oh, Georgia.  My love affair with you is never-ending.  One gorgeous Southern soiree after another has me seriously considering a move to the Peach State.  Take for example this Atlanta stunner courtesy of the oh-so-amazing carolynA events.  If the pink and black color palette wasn’t enough to have me completely smitten (it is), there’s the breathtaking outdoor ceremony and tented reception, complete with a black and white checkered dance floor.  And those bouquets by Le Bonne Fleur?  I die.  My Life Photography was there to capture every last ounce of pretty, so join me in the gallery for even more!

From carolynA events From the moment I met Meagan and Mark they came emitted and stylish and completely sophisticated vibe, perfect for a wedding that reflected every part of the city they had both grown up in and loved.

They complimented dark grays with bright pops of pink and white, using hydrangea and peonies to add stunning texture.  As the announcement of husband and wife came Mark swept up Meagan and gave her a kiss she will always remember.  The bride, groom, and guests enjoyed a dinner and a variety of mini-cupcakes.  As the night grew darker we brought out the glow sticks, the grandmother of the groom was even dancing the night away!  With the Atlanta skyline in the background the atmosphere was electric.

Personal touches were abundant from a glittered wishing tree to trendy, and practical, koozies filled with candy as favors.  A sparkler exit capped the night and set the tone for a perfect summer wedding season in the city.

The Peachtree Club Wedding by Scobey Photography

Yellow, pink, orange and green.  I didn’t realize how much I loved the combination until now, but what a sweet, sweet color palette it is.  And as an accent to this fab.u.lous Atlanta wedding, it’s just downright awesome.  And I adore it all in a big way.  In fact, there’s not a detail in these gorgeous nuptials by Scobey Photography that I don’t love.  The aforementioned color palette, the lovely blooms by Blossoms Atlanta, the bride’s incredible gown… I could go on and on.  I’ll let you dive on in to all of stunning images, but prepare yourself for all of the pretty!  See it every last bit here!

From the Bride… “Are you ready for the big day?” Another reminder of ALL the things left undone in preparation for our wedding. I must have answered that oh-so- popular inquiry a thousand times! Between that and The Knot’s daunting to do list, which greeted me each day with the number of overdue tasks (which, of course, always outnumbered the completed tasks), planning definitely seemed like mission impossible. Yet my answer to the question never changed. “Well, I have a groom who is my best friend, a minister to make our marriage official,  and a dress so that I don’t have to get married in the buff, so I guess I am ready!” Sure, I may have barely scratched the surface of the infinite To-Do list, but there was a light at the end of the tunnel guiding me through… Marriage. At the end of the day, isn’t that the point of the whole shebang? And holding to that simple yet easily forgotten principle made planning a joy and a breeze, because I knew no matter what the outcome of the day may be, at the end of it I would be married to my best friend.

Soak up every minute, because it goes by so quickly! That was possibly the best advice given to me about my “South meets the City” wedding. What took so long to arrive was gone in the blink of an eye. And perfect. Sure it poured all afternoon, the cake was late, and some flowers came in the wrong shade, but the look on my groom’s face as I practically ran down the aisle to him (sorry Dad) made up for all of that and so much more. The support of all our loved ones, the gorgeous Atlanta sunset, and all of our memories being captured by some of our sweetest and most talented friends, Scobey Photography, what more could a bride ask for? The song my father and I danced to really summed the day up perfectly. “When you’re smiling, the whole world smiles with you…”

From Ali Harper Photography… Yes, you can meet the man of your dreams just by getting up the nerve to talk to that cute guy in seat 24A! Mandy and Todd literally struck up a conversation on a plane thousands of feet up in the air and haven’t stopped talking since. In fact, the groom’s cake was a cute nod to their serendipitous beginnings! Their color palette was just as bold – and with it being 94 degrees out, Mandy chose the perfect shades of butter yellow and bright coral for the day; her bridesmaids seriously looked like Greek goddesses. These colors echoed within all the reception details – the modern, sophisticated and graphic feel of the fabrics perfectly complimented the glamour of Greystone and the Atlanta skyline as the wedding’s backdrop. Speaking of Atlanta, Mandy and a handful of her bridesmaids were all UGA Cheerleaders together and it made perfect sense for the Georgia mascot, “Hairy Dawg” to make an appearance – and he ended up dancing the whole night away with all of the guests!

From the Bride… David and I were introduced in May of ’09 on the dating site eHarmony. After a few months of emailing and phone chats, I finally decided to give David a shot and they planned to meet for a happy hour drink after work one evening. One glass of wine turned into great conversation about our southern roots and goals and hopes for life and we haven’t parted ways ever since.

On 10.10.10 David set up the day as a regular Saturday – drop by the dry cleaners, head out for some lunch, relax at the park. Lunch was perfect, the walk in the park though, was not the setting David had hoped for. There was a huge festival that day and not a corner of the park was quiet and romantic. We drove until we found a quiet place and landed at Springdale Park near Fernbank. Not a soul in sight – Perfect! A glass of wine and an exchange of cards to celebrate what I thought was our anniversary. When I opened the card there was a beautiful little gold heart on a chain. The card read “when you have love all you need is love now close your eyes and make a wish.” When I opened my eyes David had a gorgeous ring in hand and asked me to be his wife.

From Lovelee Affairs… From the moment I first met Jessica and David, I just loved them. They are the kind of people who know what they want but want to have a fun time doing it. I had the chance to work with them just a few weeks after their engagement so we planned every little detail together from A-Z.

Jessica and David wanted a rustic wedding that was casual, fun and a celebration of love. Jessica chose a palette of pinks and browns that we carried throughout the wedding; we used some of spring’s most gorgeous pink flowers: ranunculus, garden roses and peonies.  Wooden farm tables paired with gold chiavari chairs gave the room a casual feel with a touch of elegance. Each detail of the wedding was carefully planned to reflect the bride + groom. The menu was a southern fusion incorporating items from the groom’s home state of Texas and the bride’s home state of Louisiana. The venue doors were adorned with hand-made moss letters {J+D}. Guests really enjoyed our polaroid guest book station as they were able to capture pictures of themselves and the bride and groom throughout the evening. Jessica and David love Savannah, GA and it has much meaning to their relationship so when it came time to decide on the wedding favors, Savannah Bee Honey seemed perfect! Each guest departed with a jar of honey at the end of night. It was one sweet wedding.

Atlanta Photo Shoot by Harwell Photography

Oh be still our rapidly beating hearts. I think this Atlanta shoot captured by Harwell Photography may take the cake as the most romantic, out of this world pretty imagery EVER. It is full of Southern style and charm with gorgeous details for days whipped up by Ginny Branch Styling & Designs, beautiful fashion and INSANE florals by Amy Osaba. And in its wake, I’ve been reduced to a blubbering blogger who can’t stop GAZING at all of the gorgeousness. Care to join me? See the whole shoot here as well as in the new Spring issue of Atlanta Weddings.

Click here to see the full gallery of images!

From Ginny Branch… Our inspiration for the shoot was a moody mixing of graphic black and whites, softened by pale blues. We wanted to capture the decadence of the Belle Epoch with the romance and flirtiness of the 30s and 60s. The Pink Palace is a perfect grandiose environment for a glamorous wedding with its gardens, high ceilings, extensive murals, and opulent furniture. The photos are snapshots of the bride-off-duty, once all of the formalities and obligations of the day are over… a bride sneaking off with her groom’s top hat, stealing a moment with a grand piano, dancing atop an elaborate tablescape, hiding away amongst the flowers in the powder room. This shoot is for the timeless bride who still wants to break a *few* rules.

Atlanta Wedding At Piedmont Park From Rising Moon Video Productions

Lauren and Chris were married on a hot and humid day in Atlanta, Georgia. Lauren drew much of her inspiration from her art history studies … and her antique ring! Mike and Summer at Rising Moon Video Productions have shared a terrific highlight film from the day, but first a few shots from their awesome photographer, Michele Beckwith!

More gorgeous images on Michele Beckwith’s Blog!

Lauren and Chris were married at St. Jude Catholic Church, with the reception at Greystone in Piedmont Park on a hot, humid day in Atlanta, Georgia. The park had stunning views of the city skyline, which provided a gorgeous backdrop and made for a nice mix of urban and romantic. Chris and Lauren’s love of travel inspired their table cards, as each one was named after a place they had visited in their many travels together, and their send-off included paper airplanes being tossed into the air as the bride and groom made their exit. Another personal touch included the absolutely delicious, melt-in-your-mouth, to-die-for cake pops that the bride herself makes with her company, Sweet Lauren Cakes.  In the bride’s own words (below), a lot of her inspiration also centered around her vintage designed ring.

From Mike and Summer at Rising Moon Video Productions ~ Lauren and Chris’ beautiful summer wedding in Atlanta, Georgia. Enjoy!

Overall, all the details were developed based on my ring, an antique, which is over 100 years old. I wanted the design elements of the wedding to hint at something from the early 1900s-1920’s, my favorite period from my Art History Studies.

Originally, I was looking for a dress that had something extra special on the back of the dress, but we had a lot of trouble finding something that was both beautiful in the front and unusual looking in the back. So with Rin’s help, we had the bustle made to give it a little Victorian flair! It took a few cuts, but finally we had the right amount of “layers” and oomph! Basically, the look was vintage modern to match my ring!

My veil was also made by my Aunt, and we used vintage lace that we got from the Lace Museum in Berkely. It was so beautiful and even better, it was from nearly 100 years ago. We really lucked out as there was only just enough left of the lace to make the veil before it was gone!

The design for the invitations and cards were originally conceived by my friend Timoni, who has also recently started a website company, but she does invitations and cards as well.

Fall In Love From Artstar By Laura Stone

We fell in love with both of the Georgia fall weddings featured today on SMP’s Little Black Book Blog, but we aren’t quite finished yet! We have one more feature from Artstar by Laura Stone … a photo shoot that is oozing with inspiration! From Laura ~ When Jade Lee and I met to plan this shoot, our first moment of shared excitement came from looking over a few examples of avante-garde bridal millinery. From there, Jade suggested variations on a day of leisure such as boating and playing chess. Looking at the photos now, I see a kinship in these images to Jane Austen’s stories of gentlemen wooing their strong-willed ladies…

I love the romance of it! Jade and I decided on a warm palette to embrace the vibrance and glow of fall, first settling on gold and crimson, then adding a touch of always-elegant black. For bridal attire, we incorporated the vintage quilted Chanel bag and Louboutin pumps with the unusual silhouette of this Watters and Watters dress. We were determined not to overlook any details for the groom, giving him a top hat, steam-punk cufflinks made from antique watch parts, an oversized gold time-piece, and of course the aged brassy saxophone and antique novel. A persistent fall breeze rustled the black feathers surrounding the bouquet and centerpiece and those accenting the cocktail stirs. The china at Jourdanne & Jimmy’s table is Vera Wang Wedgewood, set upon custom textured linens. Instead of a champagne toast with their cake, the couple clinked glasses of cognac. At sunset, they set out in a red canoe on an uber-romantic tour of the river. Although this was a styled shoot, it was important to both Jade and myself to work with a real couple from the standpoint of authenticity as well as chemistry. The love letter written in red is an actual exchange between Jourdanne & Jimmy, rewritten by our calligrapher.

See the whole fabulous shoot in the SMP gallery!

As those of you who are actively planning know, inspiration evolves as you begin to assemble the pieces. For me, designing and implementing a shoot is a lot like giving gifts to loved ones at the holidays- I start with something small, one solid idea, and build until the last moment. The goals of a wedding and a holiday with family aren’t that much different, after all- both should create an impression of love, thoughtfulness, and attention to detail upon those present.

Our thanks to Laura of Artstar as well as all the other vendors involved in this oh-so-fun inspiration shoot! See more of this fall-inspired shoot over on Laura’s blog!

Jaime and Scott celebrated with a modern affair which was held in a historic warehouse building in downtown Atlanta. King Plow Arts Center is a beautiful space, and the ceremony and reception were both held in one of the historic plow manufacturing buildings, while the cocktail hour was held in an adjacent art gallery. Jaime and her designer/planner Lindsay Pitt inserted a modern aesthetic into the space with all-white florals, grey linens and clear ghost chairs for the ceremony and reception. The ceremony and reception were both filled with lots of candlelight that made the room glow. The reception featured light dinner music with a seated dinner and a dessert/candy bar of cupcakes and assorted candies.

Classic Atlanta Wedding From Harwell Photography

Cara and Nick were married on August 7th 2010 at Greystone- a venue that overlooks a lake in Atlanta’s Piedmont Park and has a fabulous backdrop of the Atlanta skyline for photos. In additions, a few very special moments were shared during their “first look” session in Atlanta’s Botanical Garden.  Little Black Book Photography, Jeremy Harwell, took full advantage of both venues, and has shared these positively gorgeous images from this delightful day! We talk, pretty much every day about the details ~ and about making your wedding ‘your own’. And while Cara and Nicks wedding is all that, it’s so much more. You can see in each and every photograph the emotion, their love, and the joy this day brought into their lives …

Cara and Nick are both music professors, so they had over 10 musicians comprised of their students and friends that performed the ceremony music. The couple chose an ivory, tonal purple and pewter palette that was incorporated into every last detail including all of the florals, linens and stationery. Guests enjoyed cocktails (featuring kir royales as the specialty drink which brought back fond memories of the couples travels abroad) and hors d’oeuvres on the terrace after the ceremony. As guests made their way inside for the reception, they found their seats at tables with names based on music terminology and instruments, of course! Speaking of music, the band came from Nashville and was one of Nick’s long time favorite bands. He watched them play often when he was in school at Vanderbilt. The seated dinner featured a dual entree of Springer Mountain Chicken and braised Monk Fish. And there was plenty of dessert- a warm Molten Chocolate Lava cake; a favorite dessert at a restaurant the couple visited with their families, was served in addition to the lemon wedding cake and miniature sweets display.

Three Ring Media ~ Creating MARRIAGE Films

We’re wrapping up this week with THE sweetest wedding trailer from Suzanne and Jeremy Doublestein of Three Ring Media in Atlanta, Georgia!

First, a little bit about the newlyweds ~ Jenny, who was studying nursing, had no idea that that she would find her future husband during a spring break trip to Arizona. Daniel, a Georgia native, was attending school in the Phoenix area when a mutual friend invited Jenny to come out for spring break. Their initial meeting didn’t lead to many sparks, as the two didn’t talk much at first. One night the group decided to go for a motorcycle ride in the desert. Jenny was solo and didn’t have anyone to ride with, so Daniel invited her to ride along. On that ride she found Daniel’s Rock-n-Roll exterior as appealing as his kind and compassionate nature. And Daniel found an instant attraction to Jenny’s easy going nature, and willingness to try new things. Their road of love found only a few potholes during their long distance courtship. After Danny’s graduation the two moved to Georgia and began planning for marriage. Watch their video, and experience the story of two easy going friends that found their road to love an easy ride.

Venue: Chota Falls in Clayton, GA / Photography: Steffi Smith of Cariad Photography / Cinematography: Jeremy Doublestein of Three Ring Media / DJ – DJ Teddy B of Pure Entertainment

Jeremy & Suzanne Doublestein founded Three Ring Media in Atlanta GA, with the desire to communicate their couple’s stories through video. Their marriage serves as a personal inspiration to help others find the common theme of their new life together, and produce story based videos that reflect the uniqueness and significance of each couple’s marriage. In short, they are fanatical about story, and they believe that the wedding is just a chapter in the couple’s life. Put another way, you could say they make marriage videos, not just wedding videos.

I have never seen a bride more happy to walk down the aisle. Allie squealed of joy as she saw her Brock under the overflowing green arch where they would become man and wife.

Allie and Brock are originally from Atlanta, GA however currently live in L.A. Their classic wedding took place at one of our favorite southern venues right outside Atlanta: The Barnsley Gardens. The bride looked so graceful and couture in her Priscilla of Boston gown and Stuart Weitzman purple pumps, of which we could not get enough of! Brock looked extra sharp in his Calvin Klein suit. Allie’s smile and laughter are undoubtedly contagious. She is a bundle of bubbly happiness, and as you can imagine, on her wedding day, this sparkling happiness shined through that much more. Their wedding had a dash of French class, as well as a sprinkle of southern charm: The apple pie favors, for example, were topped off with custom made DIY tags which read “Merci“. Their wedding cake was a beautiful little jewel, with such craftsmanship and detail. The hints of wild moss combined with lilac blooms, made up the main elements of their unique decor. Allie and Brock are a modelesque couple and such fun to photograph and laugh with.
