From the moment I laid my eyes on yesterday’s lovely Coconut Grove engagement session, I simply could not wait to see what the charming bride and groom had in store for their big day.  I had a sneaking suspicion that we were in for one fabulous affair… And I was most definitely not mistaken.  This Coral Gables soiree is one huge bundle of fabulous and then some, complete with a soft peach, pink and green color palette, an insanely gorgeous wedding cake and a pair of oh-so-wonderful sparkly silver heels (my new obsession).  13:13 Photography was there to capture every pretty moment, so there’s an entire gallery of swoon-worthy images just waiting to be adored.  Join me there for even more!

From the Bride… Ricky and I fell in love after working together in the same non-profit 2 years ago. We both shared the same passions and that really drew us together. After a year of dating Ricky got down on one knee, in the middle of a chicken wing eating contest one January day, and asked me to be his wife. We immediately started planning one of the most important days of our lives!

Planning our wedding was one of the most amazing, craziest, and exciting things we experienced together! And the process was all worth it. With our budget nailed down we considered the things most important to splurge on and the things we could do ourselves! We made our invitations, favors and seating chart and were able to save enough money to get the amazing photographers at 13:13 Photography and the beautiful Granada Presbyterian Church in Coral Gables, FL. For my invitations, my amazing friend and artist Coral Tschannan created the design and wording. I took the design to my local printer and used some supplies from Stampin’ Up to complete the invites! It was cheap and we got the vintage romantic feel we wanted.

We once had someone say we reminded them of a Reese’s Peanut Butter Cup, two different ingredients coming together to make the perfect treat. So when it came time to pick our favors I knew it had to be Reese’s Mini Cups. We bought some little boxes from the wedding aisle at Michael’s and bought some thick cheesecloth from a local fabric store and made the party favors! I love the way they turned out!

We even had a “Bride runner” at the wedding! No one has heard of them yet, because it’s a new service that recently came into existence in South Florida.  They are the cutest ladies who serve as a personal assistant to the bride and take care of last-minute needs, run errands, and act in emergencies.  I needed eyelash glue at the last-minute, so thank God the “Bride runner” was there! She rushed to Walgreens and came back on time for me to walk down the aisle! My wedding day was just as amazing as my husband, Ricky, and I prayed it would be! Thanks to all the great vendors and family that helped!

There are few things I love more than a lazy day at the park with my honey, strolling about or just lounging around in the sun with a good book in hand, so it’s no surprise that I fell head over heels for this charming Coconut Grove engagement session captured by 13:13 Photography, which is simply brimming with one beautiful image after another of all of those everyday moments that make love so grand.  Yes, whether it’s walking down the street or just laying in the grass, these two cuties make the entire world seem lovely.  And I just can’t help but smile.  So join me in the gallery for every last ounce of pretty and then meet us back here tomorrow for some wedding goodness from the adorable lovebirds.  (I know.  I can’t wait, either!)

From 13:13 Photography… I met Mallory and Ricky down in Coconut Grove one evening with the intentions of shooting at Barnacle Park, but found out earlier that day the park closes at 4:00 (bummer)… But it didn’t matter, because Mallory and Ricky can look gorgeous just about anywhere. (Especially in front of a blue condemned building.) They were so great in front of the camera, it really was such a joy to get to photograph them and spend the afternoon with them! I look forward to their wedding day!

From the Bride…Scott and I met in Louisville, Kentucky, where I have lived my entire life and Scott has been for about 4 years from a work transfer. Needless to say, we are a slow-paced and casual couple with bluegrass roots, a ton of southern hospitality, and a Midwest sophistication. We weren’t looking for anything fancy for our wedding.  We debated on having a huge bash in Louisville, but I preferred a small, intimate setting.  We spent the majority of our time as an engaged couple talking about where to get married and just three or four months before our wedding date, Scott mentioned a “perfect” little town in Florida that he had been to on a business trip in the past. We took a quick four-day weekend down Watercolor to visit and I immediately fell in love with the place. The perfect little town for our small, but oh so perfect little wedding.

We didn’t want to spend a ton of money on a wedding that would last one evening so we decided to extend the wedding day into a wedding vacation. Because we kept the guest list to family only, we could manage to get the majority of our guests down for the entire week. Such wonderful memories for us and our family! Watercolor is a euphoric little town, so charming and casual, with exquisite little houses and the world’s most beautiful beach. The parks rival some of the finest we have ever seen, and we took full advantage of the setting in our pictures. Our photographers, Hannah and Shawn from HBB photography were amazing!  They did such an amazing job capturing the magic of the day.  I love my wedding pictures and believe it was the best investment of the day.

Our on resort wedding planner, Cheryl Walton, was such a huge part of the success of the wedding. She walked us through the details of the event and provided suggestions that were right in line with the casual rustic beach wedding that I was looking for. Beyond the colors, the music, and the food, I was really open to anything. Our florist Sally, from Florals by the Sea, took a few basic ideas of ours and ran with them. Our ceremony site was perfect; simple, casual, with a few touches of elegance spread throughout. We held the reception in the community’s boat house surrounded by rustic wooden planks, paddle boards, and canoes. Our florist did such a great job dressing the place up, but not so much as to distract from the natural beauty of the boathouse. Our families danced the night away and ended the night with a few drinks at Bud and Alley’s on the beach.

I’ve developed a serious crush on the color yellow and the downright cheeriness that it brings to each and every wedding it touches.  And when combined with the color gray, I am more than crushing… I am head over heels in love.  Take for example this gorgeous Fort Lauderdale affair, which is not only filled to the brim with my new favorite sunshiny color, but a plethora of fabulous DIY details, beautiful blooms by Tulips A Florist and a sweet-as-can-be “Love” necklace for the stunning bride (which I ADORE).  And with a gallery full of lovely images by 13:13 Photography, there’s enough pretty to keep us smiling all weekend long.  Join me there for even more!

From the Bride… It didn’t take long after we were engaged for Derek and I to decide that we both wanted a wedding that was small, full of DIY details and most importantly, “us.”  Our vision for the wedding was less pomp and circumstance and more Party for 100. We wanted our wedding to have a relaxed, fun feeling about it.  Most of our guests showed up in sundresses or slacks (tie optional!) and we wouldn’t have it any other way. Derek and I both love the outdoors, so getting married outside in South Florida was a no-brainer. Derek is a History teacher and it only took one visit to the Historic 1905 New River Inn before we realized that it would be the perfect location for our wedding. My only fear was that I wouldn’t be able to pull off creating a wedding in a completely raw space.  Luckily, I had the help of family and friends to make sure it all come together.

My mother-in-law came up a week before the wedding and helped me finish up some of my last-minute projects and various friends came over to my house throughout the week to help put together programs, paint signs, and cut out table numbers. It was important for me to have as many personal details as possible. I created the programs, signs, and invitations.  My bridemaids wore personalized bracelets with our wedding colors, the groomsman wore cufflinks that featured a map cut-out of their hometown, and Derek and I wore charms on our bouquet and boutonniere with a picture of a family member who was no longer with us. The most important detail, however, were our charity wedding favors. Derek’s family is very involved in Organ Donor awareness so in lieu of favors we made a donation to The Transplant Foundation, an organization which provides financial and emotional support to people in need of an organ transplant as well as their families. Each seat got a green bracelet promoting organ donation and a card with the explanation of the charity.

We got married in a gazebo adjacent to the New River Inn and had our reception on the east side of the building, right next to the New River.  After the ceremony our guest threw colorful pom-poms at us as we walked back down the aisle forever joined as husband and wife. After pictures with family and our bridal party while our guest enjoyed cocktail hour, we re-joined the party, eating until our bellies were full and then broke it down on the dance floor and took turns taking pictures in our fauxto-booth for the rest of the night.  At the end of the night we made our grand exit via bike taxi.

We’re jumping head first into a whole lot of gorgeous this morning, all thanks to Stonehouse Events & More, Inc. and this oh-so-lovely Sarasota affair.  Trust me, there can be no better way to start the day than with each and every fabulous detail of this classic fête, complete with beautiful blooms by Redman Steele Florist, a stunning wedding gown and an uber-romantic candle-lined aisle.  And just when you think it can’t get any prettier, that gorgeous color palette of red, pink and royal blue literally pops out of every amazing moment with its awesomeness.  Carrie Wildes Photography captured an entire gallery full of pretty, pretty images, so there is much more lovely just waiting to be adored.  You should definitely join me there for even more!

From Stonehouse Events & More, Inc.… Lorraine Myers and Matt Grisham’s wedding was full of unique details!  They had a fabulous puzzle guest book; which the guests really enjoyed!  The bride loved Hosta leaves and used them in the invitations and the ceremony!   The bride handled all of her day-of stationery items, like her program that she made to work as a fan, the holders for the rose petals that were thrown by the guests as they were pronounced husband and wife, the unique menu cards, and table numbers. She even painted the Mr. and Mrs. on the back of their chairs.

Because of the gorgeous location, the Powell Crosely Estate was the perfect setting for their wedding, which took place on January 16, 2011.  The bride didn’t want the wedding to feel like winter so we used her wedding colors to create an intimate and romantic setting full of candles!  It was a very warm and inviting space that allowed everyone to enjoy every minute together!

The stunning husband and wife below experienced one of the worst nightmares a newly wedded couple can have.  The photographer for their wedding went out of business, never giving them their wedding photographs, and all of their wedding memories were lost.  Thank goodness for Kallima Photography!  Donning the (gorgeous) attire they wore two years earlier they took some seriously breathtaking photos in Palm Beach.  I would never have known that this wasn’t their wedding day.  There is so much love filling each ethereal image.  See them all in the full gallery!

From Kallima Photography…Melissa + Claudio were married 2 years ago. Shortly after they were married, their photographer went out of business…and they have never seen or received any images from their wedding. When Melissa emailed and told me their story, I was heartbroken. I couldn’t imagine putting all that time and effort and love into a wedding day and not having any pictures to show for it.

We were so humbled that they now wanted US to re-create those wedding day portraits for them. So we put on her dress, and he put on his tux. I made her a bouquet similar to the one she held on her wedding day. We spent a few hours at the Breakers Hotel on Palm Beach just re-living some wedding day moments. After shooting some on Worth Avenue, we ended our time together at Paris Cafe drinking cappuccinos, which is one of their favorite things to do together.

We have Divine Design by Guerdy to thank for all of the fabulous that is this amazing Miami Beach soiree and, oh my goodness, am I ever giddy over this tropical garden paradise meets elegant backyard affair.  And, yes, you read that right.  All of this gorgeousness takes place at the bride’s jaw-droppingly beautiful childhood home and I am fairly certain that it doesn’t get much more heart-warming (or awesome) than this.  And with an entire backyard literally filled with stunning blooms by Ocean Flowers & Decor, an amazing green and black color palette and a too-cute-for-words bride and groom, this wedding has completely stolen my heart.  Lucky for us, Morris Wolf Photography was there to capture every breathtaking moment, so join me in the gallery for even more!

From the Bride… Our wedding was a dream. After spending months looking for the perfect venue we decided that there was simply no place like home.  In the intimate setting of my childhood backyard, transformed into an enchanted, elegant, and truly unique space, our evening was saturated with the almost overwhelming happiness of sharing our love for one another with the people who have made us who we are.  There was a kind of magic in the air as we threw the biggest party of our lives. We could hardly keep ourselves and our friends off the dance floor…which was translucent and showed off the lights in the swimming pool below us. We felt happier than we’ve ever been. Our wedding was the absolute manifestation of our love for one another and for our friends and family.

From HBB Photography…The weather was perfect! The location, classic and serene. Jeff and Jaime were fun, creative, and totally chill to work with. Their wedding in Seaside, FL was intimate, elegant, and personal. They have a simple and very humble way of carrying themselves. Their day totally captured their personalities with the ceremony being small and intimate including their closest friends and family. The bridal party was up for anything and so great to work with. The reception was like seeing them through an open book. The centerpieces depicted photos from anything as their love for Westie Terriers to Ron Burgundy from Anchor Man and different silhouettes of poets, writers and musicians that really gave everyone a clear idea of their interests and personalities. Every details was laid out and put together with so much care and detail.

From the Bride…Jeff and I both have Midwestern roots — at heart, we like things simple, genuine and heartfelt, no big fuss.  And our wedding was no different.  We kept our wedding fairly small with only our family and close friends there, and decided on Seaside, Florida as the perfect location.  I grew up in Florida, and the beach to me is synonymous with happiness.  When we visited the Seaside chapel, I couldn’t imagine Jeff and I saying our vows anywhere else.  I got most of my wedding ideas from Style Me Pretty, Southern Weddings and Green Wedding Shoes and was drawn to weddings and ideas that were sweet, fresh and a little dreamy.  We wanted our friends and family to be comfortable and have a great time — more like a lovely backyard summer party than a big lavish wedding.  My friends and I made dozens of flowers out of pink, ivory and yellow fabric that we scattered on tables and strung on a few garlands along with pictures of Jeff and me with friends and family, and I loved all the lights strung over the guest tables and twisted up the beautiful sycamore trees in the courtyard.  Most of the centerpiece vases are my mom’s.  We got the idea for the table numbers from a wedding that used similar black-and-white images of mostly classic country music icons — like Willie Nelson and Johnny Cash.  We picked people and places that were important or inspirational to us, but all a little tongue in cheek.  Like I’ve seen in a million places, and I LOVE, we collected some framed photos of our parents and grandparents.  This meant a lot to me especially because none of our grandparents could make the trip to Florida, so it was a small way to honor them on our wedding day.

From the Bride… JJ and I met in Med School in Miami in 2006. I grew up spending my summers at the Ocean Reef Club, a private community in the upper Keys, and when JJ and I started dating he began to spend summers there with us too.  We shared many special moments there, so while we both moved to California a couple of years before our wedding, we knew we wanted to get married at this special place where our relationship first started to grow.

Planning a wedding from the opposite coast has its set of challenges, but after hiring my wedding planner Guerdy Rejouis-Abraira to help coordinate the process became much much easier! Having a bridal party of 11 girls with different body types and scattered across the country, I fell in love with the twobirds Bridesmaid dresses. They were one size fits all and could flatter every figure. I was able to have twobirds custom color the dress to fit the wedding theme that I wanted— not too matchy matchy, very elegant, very glamorous, but most of all fun.

Most of my other vendors I found on the SMP Little Black Book and on Etsy. There were a few components that we insisted on including in our wedding- we wanted a weekend event so we could be around our friends and family for as long as possible, we wanted a beach ceremony because that is where we both feel at home, and we wanted it to feel elegant without being too contrived. The ceremony took place outside on the beach at sunset. Aside from our wedding canopy, decorated with a mix of spring roses and flowers, we kept the other decorations minimal so that everyone could enjoy the spectacular ocean view. Ocean Flowers and Guerdy transformed this nautical themed ballroom into our dream space, with wall draping, uplights, and a massive upholstered center bar that made sure everyone was having a great time. The band played until midnight when a DJ kept the party going until 3AM. I know a lot of brides get stressed about planning their weddings and I certainly had my moments but over all from start to finish, planning to party I wouldn’t change a thing!

From Stonehouse Events & More, Inc.… Here is a gorgeous wedding of Jennifer Tylman, the American to George Keatinge, the Aussie. It was a beautiful Catholic church ceremony followed by a reception at the St. Pete Museum of Fine Arts.  The head table was lined with a mirror runner bursting of gorgeous flowers.  The theme for their wedding was Eat, Drink and Be Married, which is exactly what the guests did!

The tables were named after wineries and the name for each table was actually displayed on a bottle of wine!  The mother of the bride had so many special surprises for her daughter, every moment was even more special and it was so fun to witness each unveiling!  The lighting with the GOBO of their names was a huge surprise as well as the horse and buggy for their exit! Guests held glow sticks for the bride and groom to walk thru at the end of the night. The night was full of LOVE and the perfect day to begin the rest of their lives together!

From Laura Leslie Photography…Joe & Kim had a Palm Beach destination wedding at the Royal Poinciana Chapel on Palm Beach Island with a reception following at the historical Harriet Himmel Theatre in West Palm Beach. They put a southern spin on their classic and elegant south Florida wedding to reflect their southern GA style and upbringings. Her green and ivory decor complimented the pastel hues of the Island.

To add to the fun of the reception, they had funky sunglasses for the guests to wear. At the end of the night, they exited the reception through an arch of fireworks and hopped into a vintage Rolls Royce.

As exhilarating and exciting as being engaged is wedding planning can sometimes be a tad overwhelming.  Sometimes it’s exhausting just trying to figure out where to begin!  Since this is most likely the first time that either you or your fiance are getting married the road to wedded bliss can look a little overgrown and windy without a map.  Luckily for us we get to spend some time today with Shelby Peaden who creates and plans lovely events all over Florida.  She has graciously agreed to give us some insider tips on planning the most perfect event without suffering panic attacks along the way!

1. Location: Keep your location in mind when deciding on style, color, and decor. The aesthetics of your wedding or event should coordinate with it’s surroundings. This might sound odd, but don’t forget about parking or local events occurring on your wedding date.

2. Budget: Keeping your guest count to a minimum is a great way to save money and keep within your budget. It allows you the opportunity to splurge on a few things that will make the day special for you and your  guests. The small, we’ll thought-out details are what connects your guests to you and this milestone in your life.

3. Inspiration: Finding inspiration on blogs and tearing out pages of wedding magazines is a lot of fun and very useful; however, don’t be afraid to look outside the box. Inspiration can come from anywhere — a piece of fabric, furniture or even an article of clothing.

4. Details: Speaking of details, paying attention to the small things will set your wedding apart from the rest. Serving a signature cocktail as guests arrive in your color palette, a unique escort display, or the prettiest paper details awaiting guests on the tables are all examples of details that will have your guests talking through the night. Guests appreciate seeing in the time and effort you spent to entertain them.

5. Dress: There are so many gorgeous gowns out there making it even harder for brides to find “the one”. Find a bridal salon and let the sales staff help you find a gown that fits your body perfectly. Be sure not to forget proper undergarments.

6. Lighting: Light can really change the overall look and mood of your wedding. The difference between candlelight and overheard fluorescent lighting is obvious. Lighting can create a mood where people want to interact and connect with one another Remember lighting when planning your decor. If your budget doesn’t allow you to do an elaborate lighting schematic, speak with your  florist or event designer about  doing one focal point, and make it special.

7. Music: If there’s one area where a couple can express themselves freely, it’s with music.  Give the event a dose of your personality. Whether you make a playlist for your ipod, or select songs to be played by a band,  and make sure it is played at the appropriate volume for the reception space. Your guests shouldn’t have to shout or whisper to carry on a conversation.

8. Love your vendors: Choosing the right vendors is key in planning your wedding. Let me say that again. Choosing the right vendors is key in planning your wedding. You will enjoy the process if you have vendors  who understand you, and that you like. When they understand you and your vision, they will produce the wedding you want, and probably make it a lot more than you ever thought it could be.  Wedding vendors are creative people. Their energy and passion is in everything they do. So if you “connect” with a vendor, but are still shopping around, don’t discount that connection. There are times when a vendor’s personality, sense of humor, or quick wit will lift you out of the planning trenches. Most of all, trust the people you’ve chosen to deliver. You’ll be amazed at what they can do.

I can’t think of a more fabulous idea for a bachelorette weekend than a little get away to the beach with your best girlfriends. Honestly I was sold at beach + friends but then I spotted yummy refreshments, steamy beach reads and a little game of cards and it got that. much. better. Sit back and prepare to be inspired with awesome images by Austin Gros and lovely styling by Michael MacKenzie. From Austin Gros… This is a shoot I did a few weeks ago in Rosemary Beach, FL. The idea was sort of a “Bachelorette Beach Weekend” – a small, simple bachelorette party weekend getaway to the beach.

I can’t think of a better way to spend this first day of September than with these lovely Santa Rosa Beach nuptials by Kansas Pitts Photography.  Yes, with fall nipping at our heels, this sunny beach chic meets tropical garden soiree is a breath of fresh air and then some.  And with a stunning seaside location, a beautiful soft green color palette, fabulous lantern centerpieces and a pair of gorgeous Louboutins, I’m not missing my summer one bit.  Lucky for us, there is even more pretty in the gallery.  So, I’ll be sure to see you there!

From the Bride… After three years of long distance dating, I was beyond thrilled when Ryan proposed! I have always envisioned getting married on the beach, specifically in the Santa Rosa Beach area of Florida. My husband and I grew up spending summers in the area and have so many special memories of spending vacations with our family and friends.  We knew we wanted a wedding that was light-hearted, romantic, and FUN- a beach wedding seemed like a perfect fit. After months of searching for a wedding venue location, luckily my mother (also my matron of honor) found a reception site that was perfect for our budget friendly wedding- an art gallery on the famous Highway 30A.

We wanted a timeless, classic, elegant seaside wedding that did not cost a fortune.  We wanted our guests to feel the love that Ryan and I share and have fun celebrating at a unique wedding with an intimate feel. It was the perfect day and we were so pleased with the way everything turned out, especially the cooperating weather! I would have to say that the most special moment of the day was when we had our “First Look.”  Ryan and I got to see each other for the first time moments before our ceremony in a gorgeous garden.  It was breathtaking!

My mother and I did so many of the details of the wedding, such as the pomander balls on the ends of the aisle, the sand unity set, the flower girl/ring bearer shells, the chocolate candy favors, the ribbon wands and rose petal bags for our exit, the seating cards & table numbers & merriment menu, and the programs. A close friend of ours created our save the dates, wedding invitations, and response cards for us. We had many little details at the wedding and the reception. I wanted people to see things and then have to take a second glance to catch all of the little touches.  My mother put hand sewn crystals on the bottoms of the pomander balls.  We used the starfish brooches on every bouquet in the wedding.  Our sand unity set also had antique brooches on the shell boxes.  We special ordered the shells for the ring bearer and the flower girl. My bouquet had my mother’s antique handkerchief attached to the back side for my something borrowed, and my something old consisted of the first necklace trinket that Ryan had given me on our first Valentine’s sewn to my garter.

I absolutely adore a bride who isn’t afraid to use a little color and when it’s bright pops of green against a black and white color palette, well, I doubly adore her.  Add to all of that pretty a polka dot meets New York City theme, apple-filled centerpieces, a breathtaking ballroom reception and one gorgeous, gorgeous gown and it all equals one fab.u.lous soiree where traditional meets modern in the most amazing way.  Oh, and the bride’s feather fascinator?  LOVE.  Lucky for us, RD Visuals was there to capture every stunning detail, so join me in the gallery for each and every one!

From the Bride… We always knew we wanted to get married in Boca Raton, FL, my hometown.  We had spent a lot of time there during the winter months while dating and were confident our friends and family from New York and Maine (2/3 of the guest list) would not mind escaping the cold, February weather and heading down to sunny Florida for a holiday weekend wedding! We wanted to have a traditional ceremony paired with a modern wedding reception…and a few “Big Apple” touches incorporated since we live in the city.  Because so many guests were arriving from out of town, we chose to get married at Ascension Catholic Church in a nuptial mass and hold cocktail hour, the reception and an after-party all at the nearby Wyndham Garden Hotel.  It would give guests the option of staying at the hotel for the weekend and avoiding additional transportation.  This was a key decision because more than 100 people (out of a total 135) did not reside in Boca Raton.

Regarding color scheme, we went with dramatic black and white with splashes of apple green throughout the venue, especially present in and around the table floral arrangements and escort card display (which consisted of black cards nestled in individual, faux apple slices).  Each custom-designed table number card represented a New York City subway or train line and included a one sentence explanation of why that destination was special to us.  This was a conversation starter for many of our guests and a great way to bring some “NYC” details into a Florida wedding!  We also chose to include small, polka dot details, in black and white of course, throughout the wedding.  The bridesmaids’ shoes, dinner napkins, wedding cake, groomsmen pocket squares, ring bearer bow tie and flower girl dress all had polka dot accents on them…and our invitations even had a custom polka dot stamp! When guests walked into the hotel ballroom after a poolside cocktail hour, they were greeted by swaths of green and white lighting and a long, bridal party banquet table with our initials in flowers…and lit up on the dance floor.  The lighting fixtures in the ballroom were adorned with DIY white flower balls with crystals hanging from them.  After a sit-down dinner and many warm wishes for the bride and groom and cake (the groom’s cake was an X-box replica), the DJ had the entire room on the dance floor all night long…ending the reception with- you guessed it, Frank Sinatra’s “New York, New York!”

Guests left the reception for the After-Party with green, satin bags of candy of their choice from a Candy Bar with hang-tags thanking guests for attending…from the new Mr. & Mrs. Rogers!

We are trying to hold on to the last rays of sunshine and this glorious Ponte Vedra wedding by Agnes Lopez Photography is just what we need as a distraction from the coming fall.  My summer-lovin’ heart was stolen the moment I spotted that halo of craspedia, cool tea-length dress and heart-shaped sunglasses on this sweet, blonde bride.  Every detail is just as cheerful and chic as can be. From Agnes Lopez Photography…Tess and George live in New York City but decide to have their wedding at The Sawgrass Marriott in Ponte Vedra, Florida. They were married in an outdoor ceremony under the shade of trees and against a backdrop of streaming fabric in their wedding colors.

Their wedding was filled with so many cool, personal touches. After the ceremony they showed off their matching tattoos, an homage to the “Wagon Wheel” song that George was learning to play when they were dating, and as favors they gave guests local orange clover honey. In lieu of a guest book, everyone was encouraged to leave a personal note on unique postcards.

From Ely Fair Photography…Cassie & Jason’s gorgeous beach wedding took place at Cay Pointe Villa in Indian Rock’s Beach, Florida. Being a fantastic graphic designer, Cassie cast the vision for her vibrant and nautical wedding theme. You will love her spread of invitations, program fans, dessert cards, drink labels, and sand dollar guest book. Her father built beautiful a pergola that he drove all the way from Oklahoma.

One of my favorite stories from the day was Cassie and Jason’s sand ceremony. Since they started dating, they had an inside joke about hiding a peanut in each others house, car, drawers, purse, etc. So when the peanut made it’s way back to Cassie a few months before their wedding, she held onto it and hid it in Jason’s jar of sand. So when they pored it together, out came their peanut! It made him get teary eyed…and me too!

I just love it when a real life wedding is so romantic and so perfect that it could totally be a movie that I would be dying to see. So when Joanna from Diva Productions sent a film my way, complete with photos from the great Paul Johnson Photography and a wedding planned and executed by the fabulous Keely Thorne Events, I knew we were all in for a chocolate covered carmel-y treat. And I was blown away. I totally love the film, I absolutely adore the couple, and I think the fireworks are pretty, stinkin’ great too. From Keely Thorne Events … A beautiful June weekend provided the perfect backdrop to a fun and stylish Southern wedding in Seaside, Florida. The couple chose to be married in this quaint little beach town for two very important reasons. It was the location of their engagement and also a second home for the bride’s family who just completed a beach cottage just after the first of the year.

Guests from Houston (the bride’s hometown), Atlanta (the groom’s hometown), and everywhere in between started arriving in Seaside on the Thursday before the wedding for a three day celebration of the couple. The wedding weekend was kicked off in casual style with a welcome party hosted at the bride’s family beach home followed by a Friday rehearsal dinner at Bentley’s on the Bay hosted by the family of the groom. On the wedding day guests were treated to lunch on the beach followed by an afternoon wedding at the Seaside Chapel and an evening of celebrating at WaterColor Inn & Resorts.

Since the bride has a culinary background and the couple are foodies at heart their guests were greeted with mouth watering food throughout the night. Starting with cocktails on the beach under a canopy of umbrellas and the bride’s requested champagne bar, followed by dinner and dancing on the Inn Green with everything from a raw bar to comfort food.

After suprising their guests with a beautiful fireworks display the couple invited all of their guests into the resorts ballroom for more dancing and fun including candid photos with Smilebooth as well as “Mr.” and “Mrs.” themed lounges on the ballroom patios. Each patio was designed with the couple in mind so for the “Mr.” patio guests enjoyed scotch and cigars where on the “Mrs.” patio they got to sample some of the bride’s favorite candies as well as miniature POP champagne!

We’re kicking off your weekend with a sweet as can be Apollo Beach wedding that’s sure to keep you smiling until Monday rolls back around.  Filled to the brim with beyond beautiful blooms by FH Weddings & Events, a soft pink and blue color palette and some seriously gorgeous chandeliers, it’s elegant meets seaside chic meets very, very fabulous.  And those bamboo canopies?  Love.  All planned to perfection by Polka Dot Weddings & Events (who also happens to be the amazing and talented bride), this soiree is just the way I like to spend my Fridays.  I’ll be in the gallery gazing at each and every stunning image captured by Justin DeMutiis Photography, so join me there for all of the pretty!

From FH Weddings & Events… Allison and Andrew’s wedding at Mira Bay was a mixture of charming old Florida with a coastal chic affair.  Allison, owner of Polka Dot Weddings & Events, had planned numerous weddings for other brides. So when her big day came she had experienced all of the vendors she loved and knew the decor ideas that she adored.  We have worked with Allison a number of times at weddings so when she asked us to design the florals for this special day, we were very excited and honored!

The outside ceremony was decorated with rose petals in a twirling pattern down the aisle. Harlow stands welcomed the guests at the ceremony entrance with a large bouquet of soft pink roses.  Each of the aisle chairs had a thick coastal blue sash tied with a single white Hydrangea.  Allison’s 5 year old son stood next to Allison and Andrew while they exchanged vows.  Tears were brought to Allison and the guests as they watch Andrew kneel down to present Allison’s son with a necklace and let him know he loved  him and would always be there for him.

Bamboo canopies framed the family tables and sweetheart table.  Each had an eclectic collection of specially chosen vases with orchids and Spray Roses. Large sea shells, Manzanita Branches, crystals and flower blooms adorned all of the guest tables, which opened the room up for all of the unique décor chosen by the bride herself. The linens created subtle pops of color to create that soft coastal feeling and the brilliant up lighting, gave the room that charming and intimate detail.  Laughter and love filled the reception as family and friends enjoyed dancing and sharing in the special day of Allison and Andrew!
