Homeland Wedding at Torrey Oaks from Peach Blossom Photography

When it comes to crafting a day chock-full of meaningful details, this adorable Homeland duo really knows how it’s done.  From draping grandma’s quilts on the back of the church pews to creating a yummy pie bar (LOVE) to decorating the reception space with furniture from their very own home, they made sure every single moment was a true reflection of their lives together… and of their love.  All captured in amazing images by Peach Blossom Photography, this, my friends, is a day that is all about the DIY details and uber-heartwarming moments.  Click here to see every last one.

From Peach Blossom Photography… Cynthia and Dustin had a beautiful vintage Florida wedding with a palette in soft pink and green and was dripping with Rustic Charm. She choose a gorgeous lace gown with pink sash that tied the whole them of “Rustic Charm” together.

The Bride and Groom chose Homeland Heritage Park Church as their ceremony location because of its charm. The Church was built in 1887. The Park’s school was built in 1878 and served as a great place for a few photos. You can see a lot of Cynthia’s fun whimsical side throughout the wedding – especially when we put Dustin in the dunce cap!

The Antique Truck was a must have for Cynthia.  It was a great prop for the photographs. During the ceremony, her grandmother’s quilts were hung on the back of the pews and one was placed under the programs in the front of the church.  The rings were carried down the aisle attached to her grandmother’s bible. It was important to the two of them to use sentimental touches of family heirlooms throughout.

As for the reception, Cynthia used her great decorating skills and most of her home furniture to make the wedding unique. Cynthia and Dustin incorporated their love for pies and created a unique Pie Bar in lieu of a traditional wedding cake. They used old milk bottles to do a milk toast instead of the traditional champagne.  Cynthia being the amazing DIY Bride and design guru was able to plan the whole wedding for less than her original budget. For me this was a very special wedding, Cynthia and I share the same love for whimsical photographs and it was also the first time I was commissioned to photograph a wedding in my hometown.

Bonita Springs Wedding at The Bonita Dolphin House from Naomi Chokr

There are many, many reasons why I adore Florida weddings, but sunset ceremonies on the beach? They rank high atop my list.  As does this gorgeous Bonita Springs affair captured by Naomi Chokr, which happens to be boasting all of the aforementioned with a beyond stunning outdoor reception, as well.  It’s an intimate day filled with love, laughter, touches of pink (!) and heartwarming moments aplenty.  See sooo much more in the full gallery.

From Naomi ChokrMelissa & Kyle has a lovely story and both worked so hard to put this wedding together along with family and friends. The sunset immediately after the ceremony was almost like a gift to wish the happy couple well.

Melissa the bride booked me exactly a year before her wedding day. I was just starting out and she was the second bride to ever book me. She found me online and then contacted me to photograph her wedding. And we’ve been friends ever since. She’s seen my work grow and has been one of my biggest supporters from day one and I’m so grateful for her. So publishing her wedding is a little bittersweet for me because it means that there will be no more wedding for me to look forward as I have been for over a year.

I’m so excited that Melissa & Kyle are now Mr. & Mrs Crawford. These two are just meant to be together and being there to witness their special day as their photographer was just amazing. They rented a private beach house to host their ceremony and reception. It was very intimate and so beautiful. Melissa created and planned everything. Their family and friends pitched in and put everything together for her so she could enjoy and relax on her day. Melissa has a gorgeous voice and during the reception she surprised Kyle and sang “The Luckiest” by Ben Folds.

Vero Beach Wedding at Orchid Island Beach Club from 1313 Photography

There is pretty and then there is this next little Vero Beach number from 1313 Photography. Perfect parts pretty and preppy, with elegance weaved throughout – it’s safe to say we are smitten with every.single.image. The gallery is overflowing with all the sweet details, from the vibrant flowers to the stylish stationery from Bella Figura, and you it’s all sitting pretty right here.

From the bride … As if Cinco de Mayo, the Kentucky Derby and the year’s Supermoon were not enough to celebrate– we decided to get married on May 5, 2012 in Vero Beach, Florida. The sun, sand and tropical palm tree breeze made for a wedding celebration in paradise. Following the wedding mass at Holy Cross Catholic Church, guests were welcomed poolside with pink champagne and an extravagant seafood bar at the Orchid Island Beach Club. Custom made escort cards with pearl head pins were displayed on an elaborate gold and Alencon lace board to direct guests to their table.

Following cocktail hour, guests indulged in a colorful and delicious dinner of truffle grapefruit vinaigrette citrus salad & a dual entree of lobster and filet mignon, stuffed spinach artichoke bottoms, roasted tomatoes and fingerling potatoes. The Orchid Island’s Beach Club green walls, the stunning views of the blue ocean’s water and the vibrant corals and pinks used to make the floral centerpieces gave the room a playful, tropical and colorful flair.

Assorted Lilly Pulitzer patterned picture frames served as table numbers and added to the ballroom’s festive decor. Dessert featured over six cupcake flavors created by Casereccio Speciality & Fine Cakes (a previous winner of Cupcake Wars and one of the four remaining contestants now on The Next Great Baker) — chocolate fudge sundae, mocha cappuccino, lemon summer berry chiffon, champagne strawberry and key west key lime topped with a glistening fresh fruit. Guests danced the night away under a breathtaking “Supermoon” (the largest full moon of the year) to the tunes of Jerry Wayne’s Private Party Band.

Flower girl dresses for our 3 nieces were each hand embellished with a pearl sash and bow matching their pearl monogrammed satin lace and pearl flower girl baskets. Handmade satin, Alencon lace and pearl Ring Pillows were carried by our nephews and hand assembled, ribbon tied and lace punch detailed Wedding Mass Programs.

Miami Garden Wedding from Elaine Palladino Photography

When one thinks of Miami, usually beaches spring in to mind along with bright colored, flowing sundresses. Never would I believe that there was a secret italian-inspired garden tucked into the very heart of this sunny city. Elaine Palladino explored these renaissance gardens and found iconic spaces to create such romantic photographs of the bride and groom. There are so, SO many details of this wedding that I absolutely adore, especially the french-inspired patisserie complete with white chocolate and macaroons! You are sure to get lost in the gallery for hours, but it’s okay to indulge just this once…

From the Bride… We’d heard numerous times from couples that they didn’t get to fully enjoy their wedding as much as their guests did. We felt strongly that we wanted this day to be about us and not have to miss out on dinner or interacting with our guests. We decided that to achieve this we needed to have an intimate wedding, and although we broke many hearts we decided to have the presence of only our immediate family and closest friends.  There’s something special about an intimate wedding when everyone knows each other and gets along.

I envisioned something romantic, yet modern. Since our honeymoon destination was Paris we decided to go with a Parisian theme wedding with a vintage-modern style. Vizcaya Museum & Gardens fit perfectly into the romantic setting I dreamed of; while Fifty at the Viceroy Hotel had the panoramic views and the modern style I desired. The most memorable moment for me was when I first glanced at Ricky walking down the aisle. His eyes were teary and he looked so happy. I immediately felt full of emotions it was difficult to look at him in the eyes without wanting to cry out of happiness.

All of the details were very important to me; from the lace to the crystal chandeliers to tie together with the wedding theme. However, my favorite detail would have to be the wedding guest book which I had hand-made from someone I found on Etsy. Since this would be one of the few memories I would keep, I wanted something that would remind me of the theme, the people and the mood of our wedding day. I really wanted to have the dessert table as a focal point and something I had put together myself. I found the cake stands in stores like Home Goods and Marshalls and had the patisserie sign hand-made. I purchased Paris theme scrapbook paper and lace and made the favor cones and dessert labels which were also handwritten. As far as traditions, I made sure I had something new, something blue, and something borrowed. My cousin’s wife lent me her beautiful mantilla lace veil which complemented my dress beautifully. My advice to future bride/grooms is to never forget to truly make it about the both of you. Put yourselves, your love and interests before all others.

Sarasota Wedding at South Florida Museum from Sarah Tucker Events

When piecing together her perfect day, this beautiful bride knew exactly what she wanted.  A soft color palette of pale pinks, a breathtaking Spanish-styled backdrop and a traditional Catholic ceremony in honor of her father.  And when those three ingredients came together in her stunning Sarasota affair, magic happened.  Heartwarming, beyond gorgeous, light-filled magic all captured in glorious images by Leijea Photography and planned to absolute perfection by Sarah Tucker Events.  See every last moment in the full gallery.

From the Bride… I have a very simple and classic style with an appreciation for all things romantic. My perfect day would consist of pale hues in a beautiful old Spanish-style church and venue. My lace dress along with my cathedral veil in a beautiful Catholic ceremony were a testament to my love of tradition and all in honor of my Dad, who had always hoped to walk me down the aisle but unfortunately is no longer with us. At the South Florida Museum, large bunches of babies breath on the tables along with the mercury glass and votives were such complimentary pieces to the wrought iron gates, bold wooden doors, and ornate Spanish architecture. Upon our first look at the reception in its completed state, we could only think that it was all we had hoped for; our dreams played out right in front of our eyes. As the sun set, the glow of the twinkling stringing lights above our heads was incredibly beautiful and made for such a lovely night under the stars.

Ponte Vedra Wedding at Ponte Vedra Lodge & Club from Brooke Images

Ponte Vedra makes for the prettiest of weddings.  Ones that are all at once dripping with elegance and bursting with beachy goodness.  Which is why when this beautiful bride and her Mr. chose to throw an “Old Hollywood” meets “Modern Beach” affair, there was just no better setting than the Ponte Vedra Lodge & Club, a stunning locale with a breathtaking ocean view and the perfect backdrop for one glamorous DIY detail after another and beautiful pink hues every which way you turn.  Brooke Images captured every dazzling moment and it’s a gallery chock-full of bow ties, chevron stripes and happy faces.  Click here for more and stay tuned for a gorgeous film from Collab Creations below.

From the Bride… I always had some idea of what I wanted my wedding day to be like but what we actually experienced was so much more then I could have dreamt. The day was ethereal and calm with lots of excitement buzzing in the warm salty air. My Beach Glamour theme was so much fun to design and I loved combining two very different aesthetics; Old Hollywood Glamour & Modern Beach wedding concepts to make a truly unique experience for our guests. I used touches of Chevron and gray with metallics, corals and white to create a soft and romantic feel. I am an actress from New York and I always love a cinematic approach to anything! I had lots of our favorite movie score soundtracks to have our guests feel like they were transported to a private island for our ceremony and then to a 1950’s beach resort club for the reception.

Everything at our wedding was DIY from all the stationary I designed, signage, menu cards, napkin rings (all 120 of them!), place cards (done with washi tape), and candy bar etc. to help us maintain our budget. At this point husband will probably never pick up a glue gun again! We chose the Ponte Vedra Lodge & Club for the ceremony and reception because they had the most gorgeous Ocean view Ballroom with high ceilings and big glass windows next to all the tables. It was so intimate and elegant with impeccable service.

I loved the pink ranunculus boutonnieres for the bridesmaids. We didn’t do boutonnieres for the groomsmen, only a pocket square, so the girls wore these gorgeous flowers on their shoulder since their Audrey Hepburn style dresses needed a little pop of color. I felt our wedding party looked so stunning and classy. The band that we hired, Jax of Jukes, created such a wonderful atmosphere for our reception. They played beautiful classical music through dinner that made you feel like you were in an old movie.

Lastly, a moment I will never forget was my dad’s toast. My dad has a beautifully trained voice and he decided that instead of doing a speech for his toast he would do a short song medley of all the songs that describe me and Jeff’s relationship. It was so special and different I could barely keep the tears back! So many of our guests raved about the unique details they felt special to be a part of. We wish we could relive it again!

This sweet Florida soiree is filled with gorgeous florals and playful details, but most importantly at the heart of it is one completely-in-love couple. These two are literally bouncing down the aisle, a moment of many, captured perfectly by Diva Productions. Their wedding film is charm-central, so if you’re in the mood for a vibrant beach bash you’ve come to the right place. And for even more of their cute as can be wedding check out all the images from Candice K Photography in the gallery.

Now, for your viewing pleasure, the adorable film from Diva Productions

From Diva Productions… Okay, so how many brides do you know that would be cool with turning their wedding cake into a homage to her groom’s passion for comic book characters? That’s Jenny. We couldn’t believe it when we got to the set up for the reception and saw what appeared to be a Superman “S” on the front of the cake. Then we looked around the back of the cake and we laughed even harder. An assortment of fondant superheros climbed up and down the back.

From the Bride…  Jesse and I used to work together at The Ritz-Carlton, Buckhead. The gentleman who was the Director of Food and Beverage left the hotel to be the GM of a new restaurant in Atlanta, Davio’s. The wife of one of the groomsmen also worked there along with another gentlemen we worked with at the hotel. Because of these connections, the restaurant is a sentimental favorite (plus they have great food!…we love to eat!). It also happens that this restaurant is directly across from the hotel where we met which also makes it special. Jesse said that Tuesday that we hadn’t been on a date in a while, and that we should go out to Davio’s on Friday night. He knew I would say we needed to save money so he made up a white lie that his boss had given him a gift certificate to the restaurant for doing well at something at work. When we arrived, they took us to the table then a server brought out champagne; Jesse said some very nice things about wanting to grow old together then got down on one knee and proposed. He then said he wanted to take pictures and led me to the back private dining room. We opened the door and our families and friends were there…even his brother and his wife from New York, a friend from Seattle, and 2 who were supposed to be in Florida. Jesse and I have a long running joke that when Jesse says “I love you”, I would ask why and he would never tell me. So for the proposal he had typed up the 33 reasons why he loves me and had it blown up and framed. He had dinner catered and set up pictures on all of the tables of trips we have gone on. We also collect Christmas ornaments so he had purchased a Ritz-Carlton, Buckhead Christmas ornament and written the date of our engagement on it which he had sitting out…it was a very special night with all of the people we love.

Dade City Wedding at Tampa Bay Golf & Country Club from Amalie Orrange

Amalie Orrange has this way of always, always sending us the sweetest soirees, so when I saw her name attached to this gorgeous Dade City affair, I knew we were in for a little something special.  And by something special, I mean a wedding that leaves us smiling from ear to ear, thanking our lucky stars and celebrating our Friday with a whole lot of pretty.  And I was SOOO right on the money.  Ready for a day of vibrant pink hues, sparkly Kate Spades and ruffles as far as the eye can see?  Yep.  Me, too. Check it out in the full gallery.

From Amalie OrrangeThe couple is Kayla & Chad, two of the sweetest people you ever could meet. They are middle school sweethearts and got married in the town they grew up in, it was a full town event! I had the pleasure of getting to know this sweet couple and am honored to now call them friends.

From the Bride… In 1997 Chad and I attended the same middle school in our hometown of Dade City. Both of us went to different high schools, but we still remained friends since one of my best friends (and bridesmaid) lived directly across the street from Chad. Little to Chad’s knowledge at the time, I spent many hours spying on him and his friends from just across the road. After high school, we both moved to different cities to attend college and after a few years we found ourselves back in the Dade City area. On an ordinary night out with friends we both ran into each other at a local hangout. We talked a few times throughout the next few weeks, and Chad invited me to have lunch with him. After a bit of convincing from friends I finally decided to take him up on his offer. Well, a thirty minute lunch break quickly turned into four hours, and I knew that afternoon we had something special. From that day on there has not been a day that has gone by that I have not been so thankful that we met for lunch. Who knew the perfect man for me was here all along!

In May of 2012, we were in the middle of packing up our old apartment to embark on a new adventure together called “home ownership.” It was common for Chad to bring home boxes from Lowe’s on a daily basis and May 6th was no different. On this Sunday afternoon, after I had spent a day of shopping with my mom, Chad came home from work with more boxes. He told me that within the boxes were more packing supplies for our stuff, so naturally I responded, “Want to see what I bought?!” I tried on five dresses before he could say no. After the fashion show, we discussed dinner options for that night. He had just gotten home from work, and was unmotivated to make a decision. He said, “All I want to do is play with the bubble wrap in that large box.” I love bubble wrap, so I immediately headed toward that box. When I opened the box, to my surprise, heart-shaped balloons flew up to the ceiling! I asked, “What is this?!” He said, “Keep going….” Tied to the end of the balloons’ strings was a small box. He smiled and said, “Open it.” Inside was my ring! I was shocked! All I could say over and over was, “What is this? What is this?” He stopped me and replied, “What do you think it is?” He was the one that took the ring out of the box. He got down on his knee and asked, “Will you marry me?” I still couldn’t collect my thoughts completely. So I shouted, “We’re getting married?!” He laughed, and said, “I don’t really know because you still haven’t answered me.” So I shouted, “Of course!”

Italian-Inspired Wedding Shoot from Michelle March Photography

This inspiration photographed by Michelle March is just how I envision a destination wedding in Italy. Old beautiful architecture, fresh rosemary and tomatoes on the vine populating the table and all finished off with a stunning lace dress. End Scene. This shoot may have taken place in the wilds of Florida but with the crafting genius of Peplum Events & Design, the details and ideas that can be taken away are 100% destination Italy – the birth place of al fresco dining. Take a little trip to the gallery for so, so much more.

And before you make a mad dash for all the extra goodies in the gallery, have a peek at the behind the scenes film captured by Michael Burgos Films.

From Michelle March Photography… I would be so thrilled if you featured an Italian Villa wedding that I shot recently at Loews Portofino Bay, in Orlando, FL. Although it is a styled wedding shoot, I feel as though the rustic details would truly inspire your readers and the models’ (who are a real couple who are very much in love) attire goes so well with the romantic and timeless look. The Portofino Bay was absolutely stunning. It’s definitely a bit piece of Italy right in our backyard. From the architecture to the beautiful landscaping. It was the ideal backdrop for this romance. Peplum Events & Design and Unearthed Vintage were a dream to work with. From the BHLDN napkins and vintage furniture to the lovely cascading florals. The handmade lace dress was a dream. The bride’s pearl veil was precious.

Davie Backyard Wedding from FCN Photography

Filling your Big Day with personality and sentimentality is what it’s all about – and for this darling Davie duo hosting their wedding in the paradise otherwise known as the bride’s grandparents’ backyard and tackling one DIY detail after another truly made it their own.  Add to all of that lovely some perfectly imperfect florals from Field Of Flowers, a gallery of amazing images from FCN Photography and a dress that will take your breath away (literally) and you are about to fall head over heels in love. Immediately.  See it all here.

From FCN Photography… My grandmother offered us her home and I couldn’t have had a more beautiful wedding.  There are even some photos we took while getting ready in my grandparents’ bedroom where it looks like robes are in some of the photos. I can’t help but feel it was my grandfather letting me know he was with me that day.

Having the wedding at my grandparents’ house meant a TON of DIY. Everything, other than the food and some additional items, was handmade by my family and all the calligraphy was done by my husband. Even the beer opening station. We took some moonshine from good old NC and it was delicious! I wish we had more to take home.

I used and old locket with pictures of my three grandparents who had passed away as my something old. It was important to me to have something with me that represented my grandfather. I know that he was present that day and watching over his family having the time of their lives.  I had a ring custom made for my right hand by Elizabeth Street Jewelry in NY for my something new. A favorite part of it was the jeweler added Finn’s (my son) birthstone into the inside setting of the ring. It was my way of keeping him close to me all night.  The teacups on my sign-in table that were in my parent’s wedding and my grandfather’s truck were my something borrowed. The truck is a 1929 Ford, and it’s amazing. This truck was the inspiration for my wedding.

There was just something about my daddy walking me down the aisle that, whew, made me melt!  Once I was outside I was also in awe, the house was AMAZING, my wildest dreams came true. You know that Pinterest quote that says “I hope my real wedding is as good as my Pinterest wedding”?  Well, my real wedding crushed my Pinterest wedding!

Miami Beach Wedding at National Hotel from Elaine Palladino Photography

I’m totally on board with any wedding that involves the words salsa music and poolside and this pretty gem sent into us from Elaine Palladino Photography just so happens to involve both. You just know that this was one fabulous celebration and judging from what’s in the full gallery, you’re guaranteed to be inspired. Click here for the full gallery.

From the Bride…Marcus and I wanted a classic and elegant feel to our wedding where our guests would feel at home.  We didn’t want an over-the-top event, just a beautiful night to celebrate our love.  Since both of our families are Hispanic, we decided that the best way to have everyone enjoy the night was to incorporate Cuban staples including dominoes, cigars, salsa music, and espressos all while being poolside.

There are two moments that I will never forget: 1. standing outside of the church on Lincoln Road ready to walk down the aisle where a group of strangers gathered and celebrated when the doors opened; and 2. saying my vows.  I’ve never said words more sincerely.

I would advise future brides/grooms to be present on their big day from the moment they open their eyes to the minute they go to bed that night, and laugh hard.  You’ll forget the small details that may not have been perfect, but you’ll never forget the feeling of getting married and celebrating life with your spouse for the first time.  Soak it up!

Vero Beach Surprise Proposal + Engagement Session from Paper Antler

How’s this for romantic?  One moment you’re chillin’ on one of the world’s most beautiful beaches, soaking in the sun with the love of your life, the next moment he’s down on one knee asking you to spend all eternity by his side.  Gives you chills, no?  Well, that’s exactly how it happened for this lovely bride-to-be and, to top it all off, every last minute was captured “super covert ninja style” by her sister and brother-in-law, the oh-so-talented photogs behind Paper Antler, who followed it all up with a gorgeous e-session on the beach.  Best. Day. Ever.  Click here for all of the pretty.

From Paper Antler… A couple of weeks ago, Jonny and I had the honor and privilege of capturing my sister’s engagement in Florida. (Thank you Eric for including us!)  In our super covert ninja-style, we snuck up behind their breakfast date on Vero Beach, and documented Eric getting down on one knee and proposing to his best friend. The best part was after Rachel realized what had just happened and that we were there photographing it all, she flew into Eric’s arms sending them both tumbling into the sand.

After spending the rest of the day soaking in the sun and the knowledge that they were getting married, they spruced up and we grabbed some engagement photos as the sun was setting.

These two are so beautifully created for one another and we could not be more excited and proud to call them friends and family.

Cape Cod Wedding from lovely little details

We have an affinity for a great Cape Cod wedding; not only because the Cape is a mere hop, skip and a jump away from our home base but even more so because it’s a magical little spot on the East Coast. A mix of grand New England tradition and adorable small town flavor and this wedding held at Wequassett Resort is made even sweeter because of who is behind it. It’s a mashup of vendors we love (crafting genius Jacin of lovely little details and photography mavin Stacey Hedman) and a blogger we can’t seem to get enough of (Erika of radiant republic). When you throw those ingredients together and a girl that can rock glittery heels in the sand, it makes for a stunning display of wedding imagery. See it all right here.

From Jacin of lovely little detailsI’m SO excited to send this one your way, it’s probably my favorite wedding of the year. The Bride is the gorgeous voice behind the fashion + lifestyle blog, radiant republic and she is also one of the sweetest people on the planet. I flew across the country with flowers in tow for their quintessential cape cod wedding and my New England heart was in heaven. Some Fun Facts: I went to a local cranberry bog to get cranberries to use in the boutonnieres and some of the floral arrangements, the Bride wanted a Kate Spade-esque feel so I found a gilded nautical rope to tie her bouquet handle,I used nautical rope for the Groom’s boutonniere.

From the Bride… I had dreamed of our wedding long before our summer engagement, with visions of a robust orange and crisp navy palette punctuating an organic, seaside celebration. Having met and become engaged in Andrew’s hometown on Cape Cod, we knew we wanted to continue our love story there on our wedding day – and never looked further than the Wequassett Resort. The magical gardens and sweeping views of Chatham’s Pleasant Bay set the most enchanting backdrop for our day. And it was nothing short of a dream. Andrew and I also knew we wanted a personal celebration with our very closest family and friends. With eighty-five guests, we were thrilled to personalize our intimate celebration with sweet details, like the custom gilded surfboard escort cards Suite Paperie created as a nod to Andrew’s love of surfing. Some of my very favorite details were the rose-gold seashells and anenomes dotting the dining tables, which were dreamed up by Jacin of Lovely Little Details. And my bouquet… there are few words to do justice to the insane beauty of my bouquet. I cried the happiest tears (and I’m not a crier) when Jacin of Lovely Little Details brought it to me that morning. Each bridesmaid carried a her own unique bouquet, filled with orange and cream garden roses and dahlias, which popped against the navy silk, striped Anne Cramer skirts.

We were introduced to our guests as Mr. and Mrs. at our sunset cocktail hour, overlooking the bay. The amazing guitar duo, JA2M, played Kings of Leon’s “Use Somebody” while we danced our first married dance. Then, guests sipped Andrew’s beloved Planter’s Punch from navy striped straws until our classic New England feast of chowder, lobster and barbecue ribs commenced. Every last detail was captured by the inimitable Stacey Hedman, who intuitively snapped the most special, unanticipated moments. I am still in total awe of her brilliant photos and calming presence on our wedding day.

From the unexpected (I tripped on my dress during the recessional… oops!) to the sentimental (the excitement on my eleven-year-old sister’s face as Dani Wagener did her makeup), our day was exactly what we had dreamed: perfectly us. We are blessed-times-infinity to have the best friends and family who filled our day with an immeasurable amount of love. We are especially lucky to have had the most talented team (who I consider my friends) execute every last detail to make our dream day a reality. We could never have wished for a more blissful, love-filled, our-faces-hurt-from-smiling kind of day.

Fort White Wedding from Dana Goodson Photography

I’m going to say it before you can even think it.  This bride and groom are awesome.  Like marry in their own backyard, DIY every last detail (with the help of the bride’s amazing sister, Kristen Winters of Beehive Creative Events) and shower their invitations, save-the-dates and programs with photos of their adorable pups awesome.  They are that fabulous.  And their wedding?  Well, it’s as crazy cool as you think it would be with a “Time Stops Here” theme and moment after moment of pure happiness captured by Dana Goodson Photography.  Don’t miss a minute in the full gallery.

From Dana Goodson PhotographyIan and Barrett were married in their backyard at the home on the Santa Fe River in Fort White, Florida. The property has beautiful, tall, mossy oaks, to which they attached an eclectic mix of clocks. With the exception of me and the DJ, all other components of the day were designed by the couple and executed by themselves and their closest family and friends. It had a very personal touch. This was a DIY wedding all the way, and I loved the simplicity and raw emotion of the day.

From the Groom… My wife’s sister, Kristen Winters (her business is Beehive Creative Events), helped the most with the planning process and setting up for our wedding day. She hired the DJ, Justin Nelson of AJ Entertainment, planned the Southern style menu (a family friend made the most amazing ribs and BBQ chicken, and Kristen and Barrett’s mom, Georgia Smith, made all of the sides), arranged the bouquets, managed the day-of setup, and much, much more.

The inspiration for our wedding was time. You only live once, so the time we spend living and loving is precious. The theme was “Time Stops Here.” We wanted to feel like time didn’t exist for this one special day. We hung up old clocks on the trees in our backyard, where we held the service and reception. We also were inspired by our dogs, who continually love us and take the tension out of our day-to-day lives. They have helped our relationship to grow and prosper, so it was only natural they should be in the limelight along with us. Their faces adorned our save-the-dates, invitations and thank-you cards. They were also ushered down the aisle by one of our close friends. Our favorite thing about the wedding was the location. We loved having the wedding at the same place that we met and shared our first summer together, as well as the place we just moved into and will spend the rest of our days in. It was where we got to know and love each other. The day was beautiful, and the majestic trees that surrounded us made us feel exceptionally connected with our surroundings, as well as our friends and family who shared our special day with us.

Coral Gables Wedding Film from Fandango Studios

After falling in “can’t eat, can’t sleep, fully infatuated love” five years ago (seriously cute, no?), this Washington D.C. duo jetted off to Southern Florida to celebrate their nuptials with a destination shindig at the ever-amazing Biltmore Hotel in Coral Gables.  And, oh, what a shindig it was with drop-dead gorgeous florals from Parrish Designs, a Pnina Tornai (for Kleinfeld Bridal) gown and one moment after another of pure, unadulterated love captured by Fandango Studios… and that’s just the beginning.  Click play for every last minute.

From the Bride… Eddie and I fell in can’t eat, can’t sleep, fully infatuated love almost five years ago. I knew he was it for me from the moment that he revealed his true feelings, which changed the course of our friendship to love forever. On July 25, 2010, while cruising on the Atlantic and watching the sunset, Eddie proposed with the most perfect canary diamond ring. We are DC based, but there is something that for several years has drawn us to the heat of South Florida. We wanted our wedding to be a vacation from reality – an opportunity to escape for a weekend and celebrate our love, so it was official: we were having a destination wedding. Our “vision” for our wedding was going to be a challenge, and we both accepted this right off the bat. I have been working in the bridal fashion/wedding industry for four years, so I have seen a lot of weddings. I wanted to ensure that ours would be unique with a purpose, that every detail was thought-through so that it was irrefutably a representation of us. When we first saw the Biltmore Hotel in Coral Gables, we knew without hesitation that the Spanish architecture would provide the perfect canvas for our wedding. We wanted our guests to know from the beginning that this wedding was going to be out of the ordinary. To set the stage, we decided that a video save-the-date filmed in Miami by the sensational Fandango Studios was perfect. The storyline was a romanticized version of how Eddie and my relationship unfurled, and our made waves among our guests and got everyone excited.

Our wedding teaser is visual art. Ram Hernadez of Fandango Studios captured the love that was palpable to all of our guests, the close bond that I share with my dad and the overwhelming joy that was exuded by both of us, which was contagiously spread .Our “Big, Fat, Greco-Filipino Wedding” was a fusion of our cultures, our friendships and families. Most brides say they have dreamed of their wedding day their entire life – but despite my career path, that was not the case for me. What I did dream about were the words shared on that day – more specifically those spoken professions of love that Eddie and I composed to one another and vowed to each other in front of our friends and family. I also dreamed of those words that my dad would say to us as a newly-married couple and how this would signify the “passing” of undivided dedication from father to husband. My father’s words were captured eloquently and truthfully on our wedding teaser video, and it is these words that I will forever refer back to throughout our marriage as advice to live by.

Miami Wedding at Thalatta Estate from Rubber Boots Photography

Now this is a Miami wedding. It’s absolutely perfect from the bride’s vintage pearls to the gorgeous al fresco reception. Each and every detail was carefully planned by the bride along with help from the fab ladies at Liz & Lex Events. Join us as we live vicariously through these pretty images from Rubber Boots Photography in the full gallery!

From Rubber Boots PhotographyAudrey and Pete’s wedding was absolutely beautiful and memorable. It was full of personal touches from the bride and groom, and full of love thanks to all the family and friends that traveled from all over the world to be there on their special day. Audrey and Pete chose to host their wedding at the Thalatta Estate, which is a beautiful outdoor location in the heart of Miami. That morning, looming clouds were making everyone nervous, but just as we arrived to the venue, the sun came out, and the rest of the day was absolutely beautiful!

Audrey’s jewelry was a collection of her mother’s vintage pearls. Each strand was slightly different and collected over the years. She wore a beautiful ballgown and a birdcage veil to go with her outside-vintage theme. When we asked Pete how he wanted to look on the big day, he replied by saying, “James Bond!”

The ceremony was held over looking the ocean and officiated by a family friend. Each chair had a river stone placed on it with words such as “Love,” “Family” or “Trust.” The guests were asked to make a wish on their stone for Audrey and Pete, then throw the stone into the ocean after the ceremony. The decor for the reception was one of our favorite parts of the wedding. It was held on the estate’s terrace under a string of lights and surrounded by the amazing trees that you only find in the heart of Miami. The centerpieces were a vignette of pink roses and white hydrangeas, strings of pearls, and vintage vases and books that were collected by Audrey over several months during visits to flea markets and estate sales. There was so much love and happiness for Pete and Audrey on their wedding day. Family and friends traveled from all over the world to be there, and we were so honored to be there as well!

Jensen Beach Wedding from Kat Braman Photography

Kat Braman Photography has this way of always making me smile.  Just an ear to ear grin every single time I see one of her darling weddings.  It’s a joy that really can’t be described in words, so lucky for me her newest gem will do all of the talking for me.  An intimate seaside affair with the prettiest of blooms from Brandy’s Flowers & Candies and one darling DIY detail after another, it was a day that was flawlessly executed by the gorgeous bride, her dapper groom and an entire host of friends and family. Click here for all of the pretty.

From the Bride… Our wedding planning was focused around our guests’  experience for the whole weekend (only ONE guest did not travel from out-of-state or overseas for the wedding). We narrowed in with a few simple goals for our details/vendors/decor: a) complement and don’t compete with our beautiful surroundings, b) create a truly welcoming vibe for our intimate group (“homey elegance” without ostentation), c) trust the professionals we hired to do their thing, and d) only take on projects that will be truly successful and have impact (and don’t stress if things are left out!). Our most important elements of the day were location, photography, food and music.
